Starting point is 00:00:00 Today on the Wild Wild Web, a very controversial thing a former president said in the past. We're going to go back and cancel them, that's right. Welcome to the untamed realm of the world's wide web. A swirling vortex of weirdness, bullying, and self-obsessed social media posts. In this digital jungle, Jono and Vienna are your fearless guides. Leading you through the wildest parts of the wild, wild web. This is the wild, wild web.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Welcome to the dub, dub, dub, the wild, wild web. It's referred to as the dub, dub, dub in acronym form. Welcome. Jono, Ben and Megan Pappas here, Talking some words, saying some stuff, covering some topics. Now, today you've got something for us. You delve back into the archives for this. Have popped up actually on my feed for Instagram, John F. Kennedy. I'd love to scroll through your feed. It sounds like a wild place. It's amazing once you start looking at something, how you just get fed.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Airfryer stuff at the moment. I looked at one video on airfryer. Now I'm getting pushed so much airfryer stuff. The algorithm, eh? You don't even follow any of these people, but it's just like airfryer stuff at the moment, I looked at one video on airfryer, and now I'm getting pushed so much airfryer stuff. The algorithm, eh? You don't even follow any of these people, but it's just like, airfryer that, and I'm like, yeah, I'm enjoying it, actually. Yeah, you may enjoy this. I am. The algorithm's very reactive, though.
Starting point is 00:01:13 You look at one airfryer, and it's like, this guy must love airfryers. We're going to show him every airfryer available. Yeah, and it must even know how long you even just have it playing for without clicking on it or watching it. It does. It knows how long you linger on something. Yeah. It's pretty impressive, eh?
Starting point is 00:01:28 Yeah, that's crazy. I mean, scary, but impressive. It takes a while to un-air fryer your feed, won't it? It'll take a couple of weeks for you to be like, hey. Don't get me wrong. I really am enjoying it. I'm late to the air fryer game. Have you been trying any of them?
Starting point is 00:01:40 I have. I did this morning. I made some corn and quesadillas in there, corn and like quesadillas and their corn and cheese quesadillas in the air fryer. This morning? Yeah. Made some in the air. At what, like 4am?
Starting point is 00:01:48 For lunches and stuff. Is it easy? It was easy. Yeah, it was bloody easy. What time are you making these? About four or something. Yeah. Yeah, it was like putting corn,
Starting point is 00:01:57 you know, just boil some corn, you know, like little corn bits and then put it inside with some cheese and quesadilla form and put it in the air fryer
Starting point is 00:02:03 and it kind of came up crispy. That's a lot of admin at that time of the day. Yeah, it's not normally what I do, but I saw this video yesterday. Like, you got me. I'm going to get to that first thing. Yeah, so I don't know. I'll find out when the family come home later. They'll be like, oh, there was a good thing or a bad thing.
Starting point is 00:02:16 They'll see a lunchbox with like half a... I'll be like, I cooked that at bloody 4.20 in the morning. So how long do you have to leave things in there? So if you're cooking a sausage for example it's pretty quick like I mean chips and stuff
Starting point is 00:02:28 you've got one you probably know a lot more about it than me but yeah it really does I really find if you want fries
Starting point is 00:02:33 or something at home it's so much better does it do a good chip yeah so much that's where it's it's quicker so much quicker
Starting point is 00:02:39 and it feels healthier like it's not all heaps of oil and stuff I don't know I must give it a go. You must give the old air fryer a go. Yeah, there's so many things now you're like,
Starting point is 00:02:47 oh, I could poach an egg in the air fryer. I was very anti. I was like, I've got an oven. But the thing is, like, it's tiny. And it's instantly hot. You don't need to heat up your whole oven for the sake of some chippies. Can you put anything in there?
Starting point is 00:02:59 A banana? If you wanted to. Air fry a banana? Well, yeah, I'm getting all of these videos. A lot of people have, like, sort of trays and containers and stuff or they put that little sort of the paper stuff inside i've just learned about those paper inserts yeah they've got inserts and stuff so people like putting paper into another one i watched buddy this morning too about eggs like what the eggs and like ham and stuff as well and making a sort of like almost like an omelette quiche type
Starting point is 00:03:21 thing you gotta be careful though because people troll you i thought that you could poach an egg if you just put an egg in their hole, because I saw it on TikTok. No, you've got to have one of those little container things. You can't. They blow up. I have watched quite a lot of that in the last 24 hours. I've been deep into it.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Air fry. Air fry. Well, that's, yeah. I've been very, well, thank you for the- Salmon? Salmon? I was going to try salmon. I saw that yesterday.
Starting point is 00:03:41 There's salmon in the dishwasher. Oh, yeah. And tinfoil. Yeah. Yeah. Have you done that? No. No, I haven't either.. There's salmon in the dishwasher. Oh, yeah. And tinfoil. Yeah. Have you done that? No. No, I haven't either. You can put anything in the dishwasher.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I saw a guy put all his caps in the dishwasher the other day. Washed all his hats on the top tray. Yeah. Wow. I suppose it would work, wouldn't it? Car parts. Yeah. Put that through the dishwasher.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Anything. All right. Sorry, we're really dog-legged there from your time. No, that's fine. Back to you, Jono. But that was some great honest feedback for the air fryer. Both positive, glowing reviews. Don't have to go to the bottom.
Starting point is 00:04:10 I just bought a cheap one, too. I was like, because I didn't want to buy something that you were like, we're not going to use this. What's your brand? I can't. To be honest, I don't know. I think we're in the warehouse, my daughter and I, or Briscoe's or something. We're like, air fryer, we talked about it.
Starting point is 00:04:23 We just grabbed it. And then my wife's like, did did you research did you look into the thing i'd not just grabbed it grabbed it bought it we don't like it you know i've got the nutribullet one actually it's very good so i'm sure it is amazing yeah but yeah i was like if we like it we can maybe eventually we get a better one or whatever but it's been great you know good stuff there we go uh multiple times we've said we'll wrap up this air fried shit and we keep coming we keep re-upping it
Starting point is 00:04:46 what's your favourite thing to cook in your sorry tater tots tater tots they would be good little hash pots yeah
Starting point is 00:04:53 you put some sour cream and a little bit of sweet chilli and stuff afterwards oh my god I saw someone put tater tots in a waffle maker
Starting point is 00:05:00 and close it and it makes like a big waffle tater tot see we keep coming back to air fried shit you can put bacon and everything inside that. Yeah. Sorry, Jono.
Starting point is 00:05:08 JFK, this topical JFK. Okay, so this is JFK. Well, you know, coming off the air fry now, it's become very topical. What JFK has to say about chubby kids. Okay, have a listen. There is nothing, I think, more unfortunate than to have soft, chubby, fat-looking children who go to school,
Starting point is 00:05:32 play basketball every Saturday and regard that as their week's exercise. I hope that all of you will join and everybody in the United States to make sure that our children participate fully in a vigorous and adventurous life which is possible for them in this very rich country of ours. Okay, so I guess, how long ago was that? He was launching an exercise program. Which is probably a good thing, but the way he did it probably was not. Sorry, that's now an ad play.
Starting point is 00:06:00 You take that back, that was in black and white. You go back to those black and white times of news and television. There were no chubby kids. There were no chubby kids back then, were there? Oh, you were. Any footage you see, they were all ripped.
Starting point is 00:06:17 They were all ripped. We've got everyone outside doing stuff. Yeah, exactly. Is it more of the problem in America, all the processed food rather than, I mean, exercise, yes, but the food issue America, all the processed food rather than, I mean, exercise, yes, but the food issue is a major one. Well, again, back then they probably had healthier, normal food. Yeah, exactly. Not so processed and stuff. Oh, I can think of when I hear his voice as Mayor Quimby,
Starting point is 00:06:38 you know, for The Simpsons. Yeah, yeah, yeah, same. Yeah, like the voice is modelled on that. You play that again. If you know The Simpsons, just listen to that. I'm like, it sounds like from The Simpsons. It's Quimby. I think more unfortunate than to have soft,
Starting point is 00:06:51 chubby, fat-looking children. Chubby, fat-looking children. I don't think all the character traits were a JFK, but I think the voice in particular and the way he talks. It's a very distinct way of talking. I don't think he had JFK in as many affairs as Quimby was rocking on The Simpsons. You couldn't say soft, chubby, fair-looking children now as a politician, could you? I mean, David Seymour, he'd probably be one that would...
Starting point is 00:07:13 Probably, yeah. You're right. He'd probably give it a bash or something. Probably give it a bash. Also, I can think of some other things more unfortunate than having a chubby child. No, JFK can't, mate. It's the most unfortunate thing he can think of. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Rumours he had an affair with Marilyn Monroe. That was a rumour, yeah. At the time, because she sung the very sultry, very breathy Mr President. It was a very sexy rendition. Who was he with when he had an affair? Oh, Mum was obsessed with Jackie O. Oh, yeah, Jackie Onassis.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Mum, oh, God. You don't get any prior start on Jackie Onassis. Has she watched the, it's Natalie Portman, eh? The Natalie Portman movie? Oh, yeah, she was really good. I've seen that, yeah. It's about Jackie O. She would have seen it.
Starting point is 00:07:57 She loved her fashion. She's Andy's big fashion person. That family, that Kennedy family, a lot of horrible, tragic stuff. I'm glad I'm not a Kennedy. Yeah, tragic stuff happened to that family. It's been really heartbreaking. What would you type to search that up? Kennedy, bad luck.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yeah. Yeah, a lot of terrible things happened to that family. The Kennedy curse, they call it. Right. A series of deaths, accidents, assassinations, and other calamities involving the Kennedy family. Didn't some people die in a plane crash? There was a plane, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:25 There was a plane that went down or something, yeah. Oh my God, look at the long list. These aren't just normal deaths. These are a long list of deaths of military planes exploding when they've been on there, people who were assassinated, people who were shot, someone died at birth, while giving birth. Jeez.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Jeez, a lot of stuff happened. A lot of those sound like, are they up to no good or something? Like, why was he run out for the Kennedys? If there's so many assassinations and, I mean, he's the president. You still look at the politics these days and how divided particularly America is.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Yeah, right. I guess kind of like probably the royal family of America weren't they, The Kennedys. Yeah. Was JFK a Democrat or a Republican? I think he was Democratic. Right. Pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Let's have a look here. JFK, Democratic leadership. Yeah, he was a Democrat. Yeah, crazy stuff. Crazy stuff. Well, there we go. A lot of great air fryer chat. A lot of great endorsing of the air fryer.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Yeah, I feel like JFK would have been an air fryer fan. He would probably like to air fry. Yeah. Because there's nothing more unfortunate than soft, chubby, fat-looking children. As long as you're not doing too many fries or tater tots. He wouldn't like too many tater tots for the chubby kids. But maybe if I do, it's enough. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:43 And all right. That's been the Wild Wild Web. This has been fun. You go and have a day.
