Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to a bonus podcast from Jono and Ben on The Hits. We get Megan Puppers in from the 3pm pick-up to talk about the things that we need to watch. Megan watches everything and she likes to tell us what we need to watch. Mō reina, Megan? I'm good, how are you guys? Yeah, good, lovely to see you. Ships in the night we are, aren't we? We are. So it's nice to come together and talk about stuff that you're watching.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Yeah, in my spare time. You know, together in natural conversation with microphones in front of our faces. That's how we like it. Like old friends. Yeah. All right, what are we streaming this week, Megan? So, I don't know if this is up your alley,
Starting point is 00:00:35 but I tell you what, it's so good. Selling Sunset was the original real estate reality show on Netflix. And the guys that run that have opened one in Orange County. So same deal, but they've added males to the real estate office. So there's a lot of drama. Yeah, right. So you get to see these amazing,
Starting point is 00:00:59 like these are very expensive homes in LA. So you see some amazing real estate, but that's not really why you watch it. Oh, you're watching it more for the drama. Yeah, and the fashion. And then when they added men, I say men, but they're like models. Oh, like Kendall-looking, immaculate Californian.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Now, please tell me the men are getting paid 20% more than the female. Probably are. Please tell me. It's only fair that they roll in to this office that these ladies have been working at it all. No, I do find it funny that the highest earning females in the office are two women that work together.
Starting point is 00:01:36 So they say they're the highest earning females in the office. So the men actually do earn more. Oh, that's not even a joke. Oh, that's terrible. Isn't it? I don't know if they hire these people based on whether they actually like each other
Starting point is 00:01:49 or not, because there's just infighting and flirting, and I don't know how the workplace survives. There's definitely no HR. So this is on Netflix right now, a new series. Yeah. Radio didn't used to have
Starting point is 00:02:04 an HR department. It was the bloody Wild West. Yeah, I know. So Selling Sunsets, the original, if you never watched it, you can jump right in with Selling the OC. Same bosses, but a different part of the... So we don't need to know the back catalogue of where we...
Starting point is 00:02:20 No, not really. Do you like hot people? Do you like them arguing and selling houses? Then you're in. Yes. Yeah, well. Maybe we should get down to arguing and selling houses? Then you're in. Yes. Yeah, well. Maybe we should get down to Harcourt's and do a spin-off show. Selling Sandringham or something.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Maybe we could. Maybe we could. I don't know if there's much drama in the New Zealand housing market. But anyway. You've got to get your tops off and run along to the beach and stuff as well. These gratuitous shots. What else are we watching this week? Samaritan.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Have you heard of this? No. This is Sylvester Stallone's new movie. Number one on Amazon in New Zealand. And the critics haven't been too kind. So yeah, the fans seem to love it. And it's sweet. So he is a retired superhero that everyone thinks is already dead.
Starting point is 00:03:03 He's a twin. When I explain it, it sounds stupid. He's a twin, and his brother Nemesis was the bad superhero, and he was the good superhero. Ah, gotcha. And so this 13-year-old boy discovers that Samaritan's still alive, and he lives in his apartment block. But it's really sweet.
Starting point is 00:03:19 It's because Sylvester Stallone's aging, but it's a really sweet role for him. He's kind of embraced those roles, you know, that is the sort of older character. Even the Expendables was kind of based around that with the older action heroes getting together and saving the day. Although I was going to say with Sylvester Stallone, did you see the news? Unfortunately, he's sadly broken up with his wife for many years. And the tattoo, I reckon that had something to do with it because he had a tattoo portrait of her that he changed into his late dog. His dog.
Starting point is 00:03:47 His late dog. He went over his wife with his dog. Yeah. She's not like, you set the timer after you do that, don't you? Yeah. Whoever did the cover-up job, it looks really impressive how they made it. You wouldn't even tell his wife was underneath that dog. But she would know.
Starting point is 00:04:01 That's upsetting. You turned me into a dog quite easily. Oh, yeah, yeah. Especially when he's got so much other real estate on his body. You're right. To put the dog, you know, they could have sold him on Sunset. He's got so much real estate. Jeez, you watch a lot of stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I know. It's embarrassing. It's not embarrassing. It's great. And we all get to live through you and now to know what we should be watching. Yeah, and something for everyone in there. Yeah, you're right. We've really covered the spectrum.
Starting point is 00:04:26 Hey, thanks, Megan. Appreciate it. No worries. You've been listening to a podcast from The Hits. For more audio, search up Megan Puppis on the 3pm pickup or Brad and Laura on The Hits. Available now on the iHeartRadio app.
