There's a brand new show, it's called Deadlock, it's on Prime Video around the world, it's
an Australian comedy, a crime comedy series starring our very own Madeleine Sami.
It looks very, very funny and very good as you try and work out who the mysterious killer
is and she joins us in the studio right now.
Madeleine Sami, always good to see you.
Thank you very much, boys.
Yeah, nice to see you.
And this new show looks awesome.
Yeah, it's sick, brah.
Sick, you know, the Australian accent, you have to do through it.
Your character's very funny.
A detective show, a new crime comedy series starring yourself called Deadlock.
Was it fun doing an Aussie accent?
It was fun doing an Aussie accent.
It was fun playing this character because she is off the leash.
She's a loose cannon cop.
She's a loose cannon cop.
It's often the kind of character you see a bloke get to play,
I have to say, but to get to kind of,
and they really let me play in that space,
and I just had a ball, like so much fun.
Some of your language as well too is quite funny,
very Australian language.
Very Australian, a lot of swear words.
I think my character says the C word more than any character in TV.
Television history.
Well, there were two trailers we got sent through as well.
One had a lot of language and the other had some nicer language.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
True to the way we speak in New Zealand and Australia.
We're all swearers.
Do you know Ben's daughter?
She says she's never going to swear.
She's vowed.
She vows.
Even in your head?
She's like, not even in my head.
And it's just funny.
She's 11 years old now
And we'll be somewhere
Like at a concert
Or watch a movie
And I'll be watching
And you just see her
Just turn to me
With a swear word
She'll be like
I'll be like
She's a 50 year old woman
Yeah my daughter's
Just discovered them
Because she's just
Started school this year
And she's like
Son so I said a naughty word
And I'm like
What did they say
Just say it
And I'll be like
You just said it
And she'll be like
No
She's getting a bit More bold with it I'm like one of those parents That are like I don't mind You can say it. And I'd be like, you just said it. She'd be like, no. She's getting a bit more bold with it.
I'm like one of those parents
that are like,
I don't mind you saying it
as much as you want at home,
just don't say it in front of your teacher
because I don't want people
to think I'm a bad parent.
That's the key.
When you hear them swearing
in the Westfield Mall,
you're like,
oh, shocking parents.
The show's called Deadlock.
You can catch it on Prime Video.
It's filmed,
well,
it's the town of Fictitious,
I understand,
in Tasmania.
So you had to spend some time in Tassie?
I did.
And?
Loved it.
Yeah?
It's like New Zealand.
It's got a very similar look to New Zealand.
They kind of do what we do and they've got a lot of good food.
Best oysters I've ever had.
I thought New Zealand had the best oysters.
Oh, wow.
I changed my mind.
Tassie oysters.
Do you know we have a friend who works here, actually,
and he's just got into
dumpster diving. Now
he will go around supermarkets and
pulling stuff out of the bins.
He had bin oysters.
They were sealed.
But still I was like... Risky game isn't it?
That is a would you rather.
That could have been a would you rather.
Rubbish bin oysters.
Saves hundreds in supermarket shopping. It's crazy. But the oysters I thought he might have pushed a would you rather than. Rubbish bin oysters. But he saves hundreds in supermarket shopping.
It's crazy.
But the oysters, I thought he might have pushed it a little too far.
How would you reckon you'd go as an actual cop now or detective after playing one?
I'd be terrible.
I think I'd be terrible.
I don't have the attention span or the patience.
Because I want to put you two to the test right now.
I've got some kids detective riddles.
Okay.
Okay.
And I thought being a detective show, deadlock.
You might be able to get these before, Jono.
You can jump in as well.
Three men who claim to be swimming in the ocean when the murder happened.
The lifeguard believed them, even though he noticed that only two of the men's hair was wet.
Why was the third man's hair not wet?
Huh?
Jono should know this one.
Say it again. It's going to be because he's bald
oh John
hey well what a detective prior
you've solved another one
he's had two decades of workplace bullying
I chose that one
for you specifically
I was like John I will come through on this one
let's try one more
two pills
because he's bald
no this one actually doesn't work for you.
Sorry.
Two pills, a safe one and a dangerous one,
were given to a group of victims to take.
All of them died,
even though the pills were given out in a random order.
How did they die?
This is actually quite hard.
When I was reading this,
I was like, kids aren't getting these.
Wait, wait.
Who writes, do the kids write these?
No, they're meant to be for kids,
but I was like,
oh, these are smart kids that are getting these. So they wait. Who write? Do the kids write pills? No, there were meant to be four kids, but I was like, oh, these are smart kids that are
getting these.
So they're pills, but they all died even after taking the pills.
A good one and a bad.
Yeah.
A good pill and a bad pill, but they all died.
So what are they taking the pills with?
Something poisonous.
Yes.
Pariah.
Pariah.
He's promoting him.
These are terrible.
I hope none of these kids grow up to become crime writing people
because these are just
horrible.
All right,
mate,
you've been relegated.
Detective Pryor,
well done.
He's the best person
on the job.
I always think you're
a renegade cop,
Sammy.
Is this just you
trying to out me,
trying to get me
out of the show?
He wants season two.
He wants season two.
We're so proud of you.
This is such a great show.
It's awesome to be
on a show that's,
you know,
going to be massive
in Australia,
massive in New Zealand. You can catch it right now on Prime Video. It's awesome to be on a show that's going to be massive in Australia, massive in New Zealand.
You can catch it right now on Prime Video.
