Starting point is 00:00:00 Megan Pappas, the wonderful Megan from the hits. We bully her into watching stuff in between raising two children and working a full-time job. And she joins us in the studio. Thank you for being here. Thank you. You've got a very cuddly, cosy-looking puffer on there. You can't cover it, mate.
Starting point is 00:00:14 You can't. Was that like a weird invitation? It felt like it, eh? I'm just testing the waters, eh? Just so you're not sure if you need to take me to HR. It's enough for me. I was just saying the joke was cuddly. It's enough for me. I was going to say, the jacket was cuddly. It's enough for me to clear my name.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I'll write it down in my notebook with all the weird hashtags. Yeah, I write them down every time as well too. It's another one. We're two strikes away, but we're getting there. Anyway, what have you been watching this week, Megan? I'm late to the party on this. Barry, Bill Hader. I'm really sorry.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I didn't think it would end up like this. You better run for your life. Barry, you're irredeemable. Run. I've watched a little bit of this because my mates like it. And it's the next one I want to watch after I've gone through four seasons of Succession, which I'm enjoying, but I'm getting there. Barry, because I watched the first episode and I loved it.
Starting point is 00:01:03 It looked really good. So I've just jumped on board because we're in, it's season four is the last season, which is dropping now weekly on Neon. And so many people have said, you've got to check it out. It's as good as Ted Lasso, which is high, high. High praise, yeah. High praise.
Starting point is 00:01:18 But Bill Hader, he wrote it, which is probably why he's the lead, because he's often, you know, not the lead. He's the secondary actor or whatever. But he plays a hitman who falls in love with theatre, and he decides he wants to get out of the hitman job and he wants to pursue an acting career. But obviously he's got some skeletons in his closet
Starting point is 00:01:39 and some people coming after him. You do wonder about people in those positions. You look at some gang members around on motorbikes around here, and you're like, what if he just really wants to be into interpretive dance? Can you go and pursue your dreams? Well, yeah, your pivot ever unpivoted during COVID, didn't they, you know?
Starting point is 00:01:57 Would all your gang members come and support you if you had, like, a performance? Well, they're a supportive bunch, aren't they? They're like a family. So you imagine they'd come to opening night. Yeah. Nice. What else would you like to do, Ben?
Starting point is 00:02:09 If you were to pivot from radio, what do you want to do? Let's talk. Let's talk. What could I do? That's the thing. I always go, I've got no real skills. Take it away. Why don't you try a career in TV?
Starting point is 00:02:22 Well, you tried that. Good suggestion. Yeah, you tried that. Good suggestion. Yeah, good suggestion. I'm going to resist. I can take it. It's fine. So there you go. Okay, so let's just say pivoting to TV is not an option.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Okay, okay. Well, it doesn't seem like an option at the moment too. So yeah. What could I do? I always struggle with that. Like if I'm not doing this, like What could I do? I always struggle with that. Like, if I'm not doing this, like, what could I do? I reckon you'd run a quaint little rural video shop. Like, they're still getting video, like a blockbuster. Yeah, like, you know, sometimes you go through some small, like, Martin.
Starting point is 00:02:55 You're like, jeez, there's still got a bloody United video here. Oh, I'm doing that. I'm like, I could do that. That'd be quite fun, talking to people about things. You'll like this one. Because he's watched a lot of movies. What would you do? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I was going to wait a few years and maybe do a bed and breakfast. You would run a bloody good bed and breakfast too. Thank you. You would. That's good. What's the deal with bed and breakfast? Obviously you need to provide a bed and the breakfast. It's all pretty much in the name.
Starting point is 00:03:21 If you want some more. I don't know how anyone needs that explained. What am I going to get? What am I going to get? if you want some more why I've never had anyone need that explained what am I going to get what am I going to get what's in this package no no no no no no
Starting point is 00:03:33 oh I better prep it I have all of them it does sum it up beautifully do you do you get weird about strangers using your bits and pieces
Starting point is 00:03:41 oh yeah totally I'm not good with strangers so that's probably would you want them in the house or would you want like a little separate? Oh no, separate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Don't say that when they're around. Don't go, ooh. Also when I'm serving breakfast, I like leave it in the kitchen and then run away. Ooh. When they turn up, ooh. Ooh, no. Get out. Thanks Megan.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Bye.
