Starting point is 00:00:00 The John O'Ben and Megan podcast, thanks to Dilma. Goodness really does taste great. Dilma, making the world a better tea. Welcome to the podcast on a Wednesday morning here, Megan, back from a few respiratory issues. Just have you back. It makes me sound like I've got like emphysema or something. You did sound.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Steroids. You also said your steroid. Steroid abuser. That's accurate. That's what we like to say. A respiratory issue steroid abuser. How many times I've been on steroids since I've known you got a lot? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:28 More than the WWE, I think. I've known you to be more sick than well, I think, over the period that we've known you. Just consistent level of illness. I don't think I've had... Have I had a sick day this year? I don't know. No, but you definitely should have. I've got young kids coughing in my face.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Yeah. You get six of them a year, don't you? Six days. I don't even know. Is it only six? I think so. I think there was a few more over COVID than Labor, sorry, National came, and they're like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, let's doll these back.
Starting point is 00:00:58 But you read an interesting show today. to Wellington today actually if you're heading uh if you are in Wellington we'll see you tonight uh well depending on what night what day you're playing this uh this is the 6th of august wednesday uh to time stamp it if you're in Wellington lulu bar this evening uh we're hosting the alpha quiz live uh do they still do i was worried who gonna turn up to these things do you do you do you get that worry yeah yeah but we did we did one actually and we're driving out uh it was way out south and we're driving out and i was like who is going to turn up to this on a friday lunchtime, packed, packed house.
Starting point is 00:01:30 And people were registered too, which gives you a bit more a hope that people, you know, for prizes and stuff. Jeez, it was packed. We did two sessions. Two packed sessions. People loved, nothing bandies people together like a chatting couple at Coldplay and a quiz, a pub quiz. Do you know with Wellington on a plate, they do the burger,
Starting point is 00:01:48 Wellington, so like there's 200 unique burgers. And some people try and like taste them all. Try to eat them all. But there's like some really, like, fancy unique burgers that they do just for Wellie on a plate. Oh, they're doing the toasty takeover at the moment and I've seen around
Starting point is 00:02:02 Auckland places. Yeah, so probably similar. We're not talking about Auckland at the moment. We're talking about Wellington. Can Wellington just have its time in the sun, mate? But does Lulu have a burger for? I hope so.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Well, if not, I'm double dinnering. Double dinnering. Also, it's Wop. Wap. Oh, is it? Like Wellington on play. Wob. What have you been saying?
Starting point is 00:02:20 No, I was just. I guess, okay, no, Wap is different. We're heading to Wap. I said a Wap in Wellington. Oh, this is Wop. Oh, okay. Oh, that's just a Kiwi accent for WAP isn't? Yeah, true, it is.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Carly B's doing a whopping. I will like, yeah, so see you, Lulu and also we'll try some of those burgers, do Alpha Quiz Live and enjoy the podcast. John O'Ben and Megan, the podcast, the heads. Have you back, Megan? So we have, we have a video that we need to play you. Okay. Yeah, this is yesterday.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Now, of course, you were away yesterday, and, oh, just, I guess, yeah. Something came through very last minute. I, you, this better not be what I think it is. What do you think it is? Because there was an availability. No, guys. On WhatsApp, Liam Lawson was doing the rounds. It came through very last minute.
Starting point is 00:03:08 And Troy, producer Troy, has been obviously liaising with someone who knows his mother. She said, Hollis, I'm too shy to talk, but I can put you in touch with someone who can organise Liam. Before they went on their break, we had two minutes yesterday, and we're like, oh my God, this is happening on the day that you're not here. Take a look. well johnno we weren't expecting this Liam Lawson the chance to chat to him or I can think of us how gutted Megan's going to be yeah poor Megan this has just come through friends
Starting point is 00:03:32 of family members of cousins or something now he's in between interviews so I've only gone for a couple of minutes but Liam Lawson joins us from Europe good morning good morning how are you doing we're doing well good thanks so much for your time I know you're super busy congratulations
Starting point is 00:03:46 over the weekend Hungarian Grand Prix getting eighth crossing the line in front of Max Vastappen as well does it feel real that sort of thing? Thank you. It now finally does sort of feel real. No, it's a very cool feeling.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Can we just say, we need to be honest too. Megan, who we mentioned at the beginning, huge fan of yours. Like, we'll just be absolutely devastated she's missing out on this. A little obsessive, shall we say? Yeah, like, if you want to block her from your Instagram, that's over to you. You might just want to take a look at some of her comments.
Starting point is 00:04:16 But what do you want to say to, you know, the likes of Megan and all your thousands of other fans back here in New Zealand? Thank you. And to, yeah, I mean, to everybody listening and to everybody who's stuck with me for all the years leading up to this, yeah, thank you because obviously it's a huge journey. And for me, this is what I've dreamed of doing since I was a kid. So I just want to say thanks to everybody, because I appreciate it a lot. Oh, my God, I cannot believe that you guys have done that without Megan.
Starting point is 00:04:44 She is going to kill you. I know, she's got to be gut. I know, but we had to take it. I think it would be even worse news telling Megan, hey, we had an opportunity. and then we said no. Oh my God, that was awesome. Guys, Megan Woolbeig's gutted big time. I know.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I know, it was so good to have him, but I also feel really, really bad about that. Fresh off that Liam Lawson chat, very exciting. Yeah, that was crazy. I can't believe you guys got Liam Lawson on the shirt. I know, no, no. It was a great race. It was a great race.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And it was great to get him. Yeah, so there we go. That was some highlights. It just came through last minute. Well, the other option was saying no. Yeah, what? And we don't want to put it out Because normally we were to put it out on social media yesterday
Starting point is 00:05:26 We're like, well, no, you're sick So we thought we didn't want to give you another assorty. We front foot it today and Thanks to the listeners for having my back You guys are like in so much trouble. Why? Why? What's the option?
Starting point is 00:05:40 Like what else could we have done? He's going on a summer break. Surely there is one other time. One other time. They said he's only doing a round of interviews, very quick ones before a two week break. He did morning rumble. We did a few other, you're really quick as well.
Starting point is 00:05:54 So, yeah, it was like, yeah, so. He did Hosking. So we jumped on the bandwagon of that. We jumped on the piggy, we piggybacked on them. So, yeah. But as soon as you said I had a confession, I knew exactly what it was. I knew exactly what you've done. Oh, what I don't know?
Starting point is 00:06:10 No, hey. I haven't gone behind your back really. I'm not even, like, angry. I'm just, like, really sad. I'm just really disappointed. Don't bring the vibes down. Yeah. Just don't hear me.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Hey, we had Liam Lawson on the show. Yeah, like silver lining. Don't say you're sad. Don't say you sad. That's like my dream. You know that's my dream. And we could have like, well, we thought, well, should we ring you and get you in? And we're like, well, no, you're sick.
Starting point is 00:06:33 So, yeah, so honestly. Oh, so you did think about that, but you still didn't do it. Well, no, because you're on a sick day. Yeah, you're a sick day. And it honestly came through. You called me after the show. Yeah. I did.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And he's like, she sounds awful. She's just, you don't know. I was like, I don't know if Megan's going to be in tomorrow. We might not be able to do this confession. Wow. So yeah, apologies. I know that's a bit awkward. But hey, but hopefully that means we'll get him again as a show in the future.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Because we're on the list now. Did he say anything about seeing my comments on Instagram? No, that's all we had. That's all we had. Honestly, it was about 90 seconds. Yeah, so. All I wanted to do was not disappoint you in my knowledge of, I put in Max Verstappen's name, this hard one for me to say.
Starting point is 00:07:15 You get calling him Max Verstaffin. Yeah, so I was like, Vestappen. So that's what I didn't want to mess it up for you. It looked like I didn't know what I was talking about. So, yeah. It's not AIA. No. No, it's not AIA.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I promise you it's not AI. Grace. Hand on heart, it's not AI. It's not AI, is it? Who organised that? Was it you, Grace? No, it was Troy. It just Troy.
Starting point is 00:07:35 It came through. So anyway, Liam Wilson. Tell you what, Troy, that is some award-nominated producing right there, my friend. That'll get your nominated of the radio awards. It was a good get, Troy. It was a good get. It was a good get it when I was here. Sorry, mate, sorry.
Starting point is 00:07:49 John O'Benn and Megan. The podcast. The Hats. We just want to explain to you and everyone listening right now we don't park in the same place as you in the morning we don't get to park in the building
Starting point is 00:07:59 I think we should get a coin jarf every time that Ben mentions it Mike Hoskin parks in the building you know the Megan parks in the building The important people do We have to walk across It's got closer The dregs were a few blocks
Starting point is 00:08:13 There's a new car park There used to be a bit further away That there's a new one we do get to park in it So we are lucky to get that You know when your grandparents tell you They had to walk 20 miles to school Olympia feet. That's us. That's us.
Starting point is 00:08:23 When it's pouring with rain, I turn up dry and they're like, horse and carts, don't we bed? Yeah, past all sorts of unsavory things at that time of the morning. But it is a new car park, and they're all, they're still working on stuff. And it feels like maybe they opened the car park a bit early. They did, because you walk into this building, and it is honestly, every day is a surprise. I know you've had that dance party the other day. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:08:46 They're testing screens. There's all sorts of weird stuff that pops up on screens. It's just that, you know, they're testing fire alarm. There's all sorts of stuff. They've got 50 million jadabas. This was the music playing every section of it. Plastic. 5 o'clock in the morning.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Remember when we first started a parking there? It's like these mills. Yeah. It's not as fast. When we first started parking there, Monday morning, first started parking there. Someone's,
Starting point is 00:09:11 it was logged onto someone's computer screen and everything they were watching on YouTube. And you're like, this is a... Right with the lifts, you can see that on the screen. But yesterday, they were not only testing the fire alarms, but everything was going kind of felt like it was malfunctioning. Yeah, and everything went dark.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Pitch black. We're trying to drive out by the barrier arm to let you out, swiping our car. It just would not go. This is the beginning of one of those movies via maybe a movie called Car Park. You can't escape the car park. You can't escape.
Starting point is 00:09:38 This guy's coming. The power is gone. The power is turned it off. They turned it off. Can't get out. Then this thing starts going for whatever one this is. This is different to the fire alarm.
Starting point is 00:09:51 is it what is that saying they're saying get the hell out of the building and we're like we're trying but the barrier arm won't come up you know and it's dark yeah it's dark momentarily and then the things came back on yeah so it was yeah very very unusual I honestly I looked across I looked across I was like I could eat him
Starting point is 00:10:09 I could eat him for survival he'd be a little bit of a little bony like you know when you get the last little bit of chicken bony he'd be a slow cook yeah but sinewy he could eat me first I'd be more of a me John O'Ben and Megan The podcast
Starting point is 00:10:24 The Hids If you missed it yesterday Megan was away For one day With respiratory-based issues And also violence issues She was on steroids I'm still on the roids
Starting point is 00:10:37 Yeah no very volatile Very scary She's calling me brother Let me tell you something Brother who is I said yesterday She ripped the door handle off the studio door We can't actually get out at the moment Folded up a chair too
Starting point is 00:10:48 And wacked it over Jono's back Oh, after this Liam scenario, you deserve it. Yeah, so what happened yesterday, if you missed it and Liam, we're going to play it for you after 8 o'clock. Megan's reaction, because we played it to her this morning. She missed out on the Liam Lawson interview that came through. Good morning. How are you doing? We're doing well, Liam.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Yeah, so that was, yeah, that was you said. A lot of feedback coming through on this one, Rose. Well, firstly, you guys need to organise another interview, but not with you, just for Megan. Oh, my God. Oh, with Liam Lawson. Why did you not at least patch her into the call? Like, you have the technology.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Thank you, Rose. She was weak. Let's get into that now. Rose. It came through at 5 o'clock in the morning. Yeah, like, she was weezy. She was off work. And you were telling me she wouldn't have woken up to talk to Liam. She's right.
Starting point is 00:11:36 She wasn't well enough to come into work. 100 woken up to talk to Liam. It was a phone call. She didn't even have to put her face on. I love you, Rose. Thank you, girls. We don't need this now. Yes, we don't.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Let's not bring woes. into it. I hear guilt in your voice. I do feel bad. Sing her face, sing it, you know. She's just sad. Like, yeah, I want, yell at us or something. There were tears. There were tears.
Starting point is 00:12:01 And I think that's fair. I think your feelings are really valid. Oh, thanks, Rose. You're making my heart sad, just looking. And I'm just staring at Ben all morning, to be honest. Thank you for your call, Rose. Listen, you may not have had the opportunity to talk to Liam Lawson, but you can talk to the guys who talked to Liam Lawson.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Every day, you can ask us any question you want. Why didn't you get me on the phone? Maybe not that question. John O'Benn and Megan. The podcast. That's Tia Megan. Someone sliding it back into Megan's DMs. A lot of apologies of Megan's DMs for missing out on the Liam Lawson interview yesterday.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I understand, but I'm still really sad about it. Liam Lawson's number one fan. We're sorry. But anyway, I'll tell you what, I reckon there's going to be two very clear camps on this issue. Yeah. It reads, hey Megan. in my late 30s, and in that now or never space when it comes to having kids. I've always loved my work.
Starting point is 00:12:57 I'm super independent, and honestly, I look at my friends with kids and think, how are they affording this? They've got no sleep, no time and absolutely no money. Every spare cent goes to daycare, food, clothes, school stuff, birthday parties. They're constantly stressed about money, and even the ones doing okay career-wise are stretched to the limit. I'm not judging. I'm just genuinely, I just genuinely don't know if I want to sign up for that kind of financial pressure. I really need your opinion on this.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Do you think, do you think I'll regret not having kids? It comes down, to come, look, to be fair, there's enough kids out there. There's no shortage of kids. So we don't need to do it to keep the human species, you know, rolling on. No pressure on that front. But it comes down to the individual, really, what you want out of life. Yeah. And this person's obviously already thinking about the financial implications.
Starting point is 00:13:47 And if that's an issue Which yes, they are I definitely do less shopping And that sucks Yeah like bringing up You know Paying for another human Yes that is a cost
Starting point is 00:13:58 But then would I change that for the world Absolutely not That's for me You know I don't regret for a second You know And you go through stages Every parent has the ups
Starting point is 00:14:05 And the downs And things that you go But at the same time It's made my life Way more fulfilling But that's me as an individual For other people That might be totally different
Starting point is 00:14:12 Correct me if I'm wrong But there's a certain pressure with women because we have time limit. You've got the goods. You've got the manufacturing plant, don't you? More of a time limit more than men. We can't all be, you know, Al Pacino at whatever, 80. Spraying them out. So you feel like you have to decide and you might not always feel ready
Starting point is 00:14:32 and then there's always the thought that if I don't do it now will I regret it later. And so I understand that. Does that sit with most women, you think? Yeah, I'd say so. Right, yeah. Because I, for a long time, I was like, I don't know if I want to have kids for ages. And then you worry. And then you get to that cut off.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Yeah. So I did have them at like 36, 38. So I was like older. But, I mean, it's not for everyone. I know. As soon as you're over 35, it's a geriatric pregnancy. And I was like, they really need to change that. Wow.
Starting point is 00:15:01 That's what it is. It's a medically geriatric. A geriatric pregnancy. Comedically, that's brilliant. Oh, I know. I know. I'm so happy you know that. I did it.
Starting point is 00:15:11 But it's not for everyone. Do you need us to turn up the hearing in here? Shut up. That's why my headphone's so loud Yeah, false seethe just fallen out Sorry, you'll pick those up My emphysema But yeah, it's not for everyone
Starting point is 00:15:25 There's a growing number of people that aren't doing it So maybe you have decided not to have kids And it's been the best decision you've made And you're comfortable with that If this person was your friend And they came to you and they said, I don't know Is life better with or without kids? John O'Ben and Megan
Starting point is 00:15:39 The podcast, The Hats We're in the middle of today's dear Megan Megan Talking about a person Whether they want kids or not Should they take that step Megan And this person is in their late 30s Which I think is often
Starting point is 00:15:54 If you get to that point And you don't have children You're like, what do I do? So she sees all her friends struggling No sleep, no time, no money So she wants to know If you think she'll regret not having kids It's a decision that only she can make
Starting point is 00:16:12 but people are weighing in and Angela said my mother-in-law always says there's never a right or wrong time to have kids, you just manage. Someone said you might regret it, but it honestly doesn't sound like you will. I don't have kids by choice. I made up my mind when I was 12, not that I could afford them anyway.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I have to admit some people's kids are adorable, yet I'm glad I didn't put the back-breaking work into them. Yeah, they're kind of like buying a boat, isn't it fun for a couple of days, and then just cost you a lot of money for the rest of your life? Mine are two and four, and my two-year-olding, hard and like sometimes when they're like arguing about who's got what and the spicy toothpaste last night
Starting point is 00:16:49 I don't want the spicy toothpaste it's not spicy it's minty by the way yeah I sit there and I'm like what would my life be right now if I didn't have kids yeah I know but you can have a fulfilling life with or without kids yeah exactly oh they're still great they're amazing and they enrich your life in a certain way but then your life will be what you make it right gentleman was watching an Instagram clip last night and it was an older lady she was sort of 90 and they said what would you like to go back and She's like, I'd love to go back to the moments when I was raising my kids
Starting point is 00:17:16 and I was saying, clean up your room, tidy up this, and just be in the moment and not care. Well, she can come to my house. Yeah, but she's 90, mate. She's going to be a shocking babysitter. And we've got Adrian with us. What do you want to say on Dear Megan, Adrian? Well, first of all, I want to give my condolences.
Starting point is 00:17:33 You know, I'm sorry that she wasn't added to the set interview with Liam Lawson. Oh, Megan. Yeah. Thank you, Adrian. We would have been here, but it just happened. but thank you yeah simple text or a phone call
Starting point is 00:17:44 you know come on yeah thank you Adrian okay but that's not what we're debating right now Adrian we're debating about kids no kids or kids for this particular person and yeah well as I'm saying before it all depends on the individual but you should definitely not look at kids
Starting point is 00:17:59 as a financial burden or definitely not as a money thing I mean I've got seven kids and I just I love seeing the smiles on their faces like to be away from home to provide for your and then when you get home and your kids are like oh, Papa, and they come up to you, give you cuddles. It just touches your heart.
Starting point is 00:18:15 That's awesome. That's what you want to think of is the unconditional and different levels of love that you can get from your kids, especially on the different ages as well. It changes your purpose in life, doesn't it? It changes your outlook on everything, really. We did this thing the other day at their hits. Remember at the Hits conference?
Starting point is 00:18:33 And the guy who imagined, he got us to imagine ourselves at 80 years old. And I was just thinking afterwards, I would imagine myself totally different, all the things I would have wanted before kids. it would have been all about me but I didn't think about what I'd done I didn't think about I was just thinking what were the kids happy
Starting point is 00:18:47 you know and they achieved their dreams in their life that's all I cared about I think Jono was asleep during this he was not letting off but I was like 10 years ago 15 years ago I would have been like have I done this in my career I didn't care about that for a second
Starting point is 00:18:59 I just cared about were they happy and doing and fulfilling their dreams so you're right it does change everything Adrian yeah and you can always go back to his career as well and like the appreciation from your family to just stop what you're doing to let them do what they want to do and you can still go back and do that
Starting point is 00:19:13 and they're right there with you you know they understand because you know obviously let them live their life and you've got more moral support and just another level of unconditional love and they can look after me when I'm old that's right but that's why I had them not for everyone someone saying on the text
Starting point is 00:19:29 saying maybe if this person is already asking these questions about children it means they're second guessing their decision therefore maybe they need to explore this seriously right can I just go back to that thing that he got us to do and imagine when we're 80
Starting point is 00:19:42 to be fair he did say shut your eyes and as soon as that's where we lost yeah that's where you lost you before that we got all noticed you nodding off
Starting point is 00:19:48 before you said to shut your eyes I found him really good that was good the bins I was away for he was great so to go back to this person what are we going to say it's a decision
Starting point is 00:19:58 honour you can make but do you know what you could always freeze your eggs hedge your bets and you don't have to use them that's a real little good why don't we chuck that out earlier in the piece
Starting point is 00:20:07 why don't say that little golden sorry it's all now John O'Ben and Megan The podcast, The Hits I'm Liam Lawson There's no bigger fan of the Formula One driver than Megan, she was away yesterday
Starting point is 00:20:19 and we had a last-minute interview of Liam Lawson from Liam Lawson come through on what's happened Yeah, now there's a large part, Megan, there is a large part of me that feels really guilty we were undeserving of the interview without you being involved in it but there's 10, you know, that's a large part of me but then there's 10% of me
Starting point is 00:20:34 really enjoying the entertainment value of you missing out of this is what happened yesterday Can we just say, we need to be honest too, Megan, who we mentioned at the beginning, huge fan of yours. Like, we'll just be absolutely devastated she's missing out on this. A little obsessive, shall we say? Yeah, like, if you want to block her from your Instagram, that's over to you. But what do you want to say to, you know, the likes of Megan and all your thousands of other fans back here in New Zealand? Thank you.
Starting point is 00:20:59 And, yeah, I mean, to everybody listening and to everybody who's stuck with me for all the years leading up to this. Yeah, thank you because obviously it's a huge journey. For me, this is what I've dreamed of doing since I was a kid. So I just want to say thanks to everybody because I appreciate it a lot. Oh my God, I cannot believe that you guys have done that without Megan. She is going to kill you. I know, she's got to be gut. I know, but we had to take it.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Now, just before you said, you did ask us if that was AI. Can we just say, we need to be honest too. Megan, who we mentioned at the beginning, huge fan of yours. Like, we'll just be... doing here guys I'm pushing buttons that I shouldn't be pushing can you tell I don't know if I told it you couldn't tell at all no should we sound good we did Kings of Leon come in a bit as part of the prank everyone needs everyone needs a second of Kings of Leon in their life there's another little bit but you did you did
Starting point is 00:21:59 accuse us of it being AI that wasn't that wasn't AI no okay promise it was an AI but it wasn't an interview it wasn't an interview with us it was an interview he with Mike Hosking a while ago. So we didn't get Liam Lawson yesterday. So the thing is, you missed our Liam Lawson interview, but so did Liam Lawson. We did play that out on the radio yesterday. That was the listeners' reactions. They were on board with it.
Starting point is 00:22:26 They knew we were doing this to get you. To be honest, I was like so happy that the listeners had my back. They were like, you guys are me. Well, they had your back, but they were just playing a role. Yeah, right. It's like wrestling, my WWS. Yeah. I was like the one freaking day.
Starting point is 00:22:43 So if we also, actually, if we want to thank anyone for this prank, Mike Hosking, thank you very much too, for actually getting Liam Lawson. Yeah, he's the one, he's the one legitimate radio show that did get him. You know, it's been a really long two hours because Paul Megan was quite upset. That's, uh, you missed out. I did have a weak cry. I'm sorry. You've made to bring the vibes down.
Starting point is 00:23:02 No, it's not. Like, it wasn't, because I was angry. I was just like really sad. I missed it. Yeah, I know. You're sick. And then obviously you miss out on. Liam Lawson but the good news is
Starting point is 00:23:10 no one got Liam Lawson hopefully we'll get him now in the future who knows or we'll just really like increase that restraining order one of the two so listen sorry man let's blame the steroids on the on everything it's all the steroids fault yeah have you ever wanted if I was a true fan big fan can I just say steroids in relation to Megan
Starting point is 00:23:29 it's been sick even going to explain the steroids yeah not Liam Lawson yeah no steroids help Liam Lawson yeah I don't know if you put the car on steroids yeah I'm just for anyone else going, well, are we blaming steroids? It's me. I'm on steroids. Yeah, for a sickness.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Yeah, so, well, there we go. Another prior voice prank production. It was a good one. That was good. You know, it reminded me at the point where we once got Guy Williams, and we did a hidden camera thing on him, and he was talking about a boss, and it was meant to be a whole thing. But then it turned into my series work meeting,
Starting point is 00:24:00 and Guy was giving honest feedback on the show, and we're like, we shouldn't be listening to this. No, yeah, yeah. And it's like, okay, what are we doing? You have a crisis? Like we did this small. morning. You have a mid-prank crisis meeting. What are our options available?
Starting point is 00:24:13 Yeah. How do we get out of this with a clean nose? We had to reveal to a guy with a hey, guess what? That meaning that you thought was private wasn't so private. Weird old thing. Were you dumped on everyone? We had to walk away from the media. I can't listen to this. We won't play that anywhere else.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Oh my God. Hey, well, anyway, Megan. No one got Liam. Great to have you back and maybe we'll have Liam in the future. John O'Bennon and Megan. Bad. I care on track to open in New Zealand their first store late this year as well.
Starting point is 00:24:44 It's a huge store overseas, right? About time. Okay, mate. Oh my God. Have you been harping on about that for years? I've seen photos on the news. Have you seen the size of the building? It's a big building, Megan.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You can't just chuck it. It's not like chemist warehouse that just turns up overnight. It's enormous IKEA. And what's the vibe? I like it for those that I don't really know. So everything you put together yourself. A lot of flat back.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Yeah. Sounds like my worst night. like divorce is pending you get people that come around and do that sort of stuff and we have friends who just love it yeah we've got a friend who's like if you got a flatback I'll come and do it just as a hobby
Starting point is 00:25:18 maybe that's a business idea just like yeah well people do yeah they can get people I've had people come around and several flat packs to me before paid them good money to do it and I'm happy to do it no interest in putting together a flat pack myself you keep the fluids up day
Starting point is 00:25:32 you keep morale on a tea whatever you know I deal my tea but it's something I did yesterday and I notice I do that from time to time I just talk out loud to myself you guys are one of those people that do that Yeah everyone, well I think everyone does it I do all the time
Starting point is 00:25:44 Yeah and I don't know why it is But I just kind of do it And yesterday I thought I was walking by myself Across the thing of the car And I was just talking aloud I don't know why I didn't even know I was doing it You know just talking about what I was
Starting point is 00:25:55 Just talking to the voice in his head Yeah I was like I can walk the dog go to the gym Okay got to go the supermarket And then someone I just I thought was a lot of And someone said, don't forget, we're out of eggs. And I turned around, and it was a guy that I know for him who works across the road.
Starting point is 00:26:11 I'm like, oh, this is embarrassing. Why don't you say that stuff in your head? I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I'm the only one that does. But I just feel like it does. Nothing. But you must, I always find a mumble works well.
Starting point is 00:26:22 You must have been reciting your to do this very loud. I know. Someone else to hear it. I think I've heard you walk along mumbling. And that, uh... Me? Yeah, that gives up a different kind of thing. Yeah, I'm a mumbler.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I'm more concerned about the mumbling than I am. Rather than a guy going through. At least you know, okay, he's going through his to-do list. But when you're walking across the road like, you're like, hmm, I mumble around the house and the image, like you look insane. But you're just mumble, you're clearing stuff out of your ears. And sometimes I find if you say it, you know, it sticks in better. I don't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:26:55 It's embarrassing. But it is embarrassing when you're caught by a stranger, though. It's like when you're caught looking at yourself in a reflection. Talk yourself in the car as well, too. Someone's like, you must be really loving that song. and I was like, I wasn't listening to music I was just talking to myself but I didn't have the heart to tell them that
Starting point is 00:27:09 yeah, yeah I only sing out loud I don't ever talk to myself do you ever argue with yourself I'm worried about you I always lose arguments with myself you're walking across the road mumbling and arguing you're like all 4487 on text do you talk out loud to yourself
Starting point is 00:27:27 snap poll maybe you keep it in your head like Megan honestly don't go Don't talk out loud. Don't you? Don't talk to myself. In my head, I do. Driving along in the car or something.
Starting point is 00:27:39 No, I'm usually singing. No, I don't talk to myself. That's fun. Maybe I'm in the only, and a minority here. John, 4487 on the text. Do you talk out loud to yourself?
Starting point is 00:27:48 Love to hear from you. And are you over the age of six too? That's a pivotal piece of information. Yeah, that'd be nice enough. John O'Ben and Megan. The podcast. The hits. I just mentioned about,
Starting point is 00:28:00 I just after 730 this morning that I got caught talking to myself out loud when I thought I was by myself running through your to-do list for the remainder of the day it's not always a to-do list that I talk out loud I just find myself you know usually when I feel like I'm by myself in the car or somewhere I'll talk out loud but is it always like listing things to do like what you look good today bro no no it's not like I'm just trying to imagine what you're saying or like you're such an idiot why did you do that sometimes talking out things the conversations that you've got to have or bits for radio or other things as well you might
Starting point is 00:28:32 start to talk about, or just, I don't know, just, I felt like it was a weird, unusual thing also. You're not alone. I'm feeling alone that I don't, but I'm okay with that. I was an only child. I had no other option about to talk to myself. And I thought that was just a me thing, but it's great to know there's a community of people out there talking to themselves, because the feedback we've had on 4487, proud, proud people who loud and proudly talk to themselves. I'm a type talker as well. When I'm typing, I can't help but not talk about what I'm typing. Right. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Hello there. How are you, which drives people bonkers. Joe, you talk to yourself. I talk to myself all the time. At our house, everyone does. And for us, it's just a staff meeting. Stuff meeting. Like, what do you say?
Starting point is 00:29:15 Everything. You remind yourself of everything that, yeah, anything and everything and reminders and I'm sure my workmates think I'm nuts. Yeah, it's not old enough, maybe, I'm thinking. Yeah, man, I don't say she's... remind herself. Yeah. Senile.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Maybe you're not senile enough to you. Maybe. You guys are significantly older than me. Someone's text in. You're like this Joe. Someone's texting. Cause I talk to myself. Who else can I ask for expert advice?
Starting point is 00:29:41 Exactly. The best intelligent conversation you get all day. Do you give yourself compliments? I think that would be cute. No. No, don't do that. No. No, just reminders.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Yeah. Okay, well good. Okay, that's one. Yeah, plenty of calls and texts coming through. I think that person who just, you text before. Liesel, you're the expert who talks to themselves. Yes, I am. My head is a wonderful place to be in.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Of course I'm going to talk to myself. I know, but I talk to myself in my head. Like I keep it as the inner monologue. Yeah, no, there's too much going on in there. Yeah. Everyone's got a lot of stuff going on in their head. Sometimes it's good just to get it out. Just talk it out loud.
Starting point is 00:30:25 A lot of dark thoughts you need to say out loud. you ever get caught by strangers, though, Lise L? And how have you handled that situation? Oh, yeah, yeah, I often get very strange looks. Look, I don't, like, go around talking to myself all the time. It's not like I have a conversation. But I do talk when I, like, pipe or when I have to think about something. Yeah, that's same.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Some people in public, too, that you do see talking to themselves. And if they're pushing a trolley with all of their belongings, you're like, yeah, no, that's not out of place. As you do, and they're on it, they've got like a Bluetooth and a earpiece. They're like, oh, okay, they're talking to someone in this situation. Yeah, hey, well, good on you, Liz, Elle. Thank you so much for listening. What are you doing today? I am going to pay all of our doctors and nurses at the Waikara Hospital.
Starting point is 00:31:16 No, was that to us, or that was that to yourself? We'll never know who she was talking to right there. Good on you, mate. Thanks so much for listening. Appreciate it. Do we have tickets to one direction? Not one direction. One Republic.
Starting point is 00:31:27 It'll be a huge announcement. I've got some big news for Jotto. Some sad news about it.
