Now, Kaylee Bell from New Zealand in the South Island, and she's made it big internationally with country hits like this, and she just won a really big award at the Country Music. These are the huge country music awards in America. She got a surprise with an award on the red carpet. Is this Kaylee Bell? Is this Kaylee Bell? Oh, my God!

How are you? I'm Tyler. I'm going to meet you, Tyler. Good to see you, and I have a little something for you. You are officially the winner of the CMA Global Artist. So congratulations. Great. And ideal getting your award on the red carpet too. You don't have to go in and sit through the long, boring award ceremony as well.

She could have tapped out and gone straight to a bar. Now we caught up with her. Megan was sitting in for you Ben last week and Kaylee Bell swung by the studio on Friday. How are you mate? I am so good thank you it's so nice to be back and back for summer which is exciting

and yeah it's been a big year Because you're based in Tennessee I am in the home of country music in Nashville and I based myself there in June this year. What's Nashville like? Nashville is unlike anything so everywhere you go is just musos

and songwriters and that's people's job. They get up and they go writing songs for the day. I can't even really explain what it's like because there's nothing like it. It's just like a town built on music. Everywhere you go it's music and it's like Broadway is just all this live music from 10 in the morning to like 4 in the morning.

It's just wild. Who's going to watch live music at 10 in the morning? I know. That's the vibe. It is amazing. Do you see famous people walking around the streets of Nashville? I mean, people say they see people in the supermarket all the time. My best friend bumped into Keith at the supermarket the other day.

He was just getting some meat with his daughters. Oh, Keith Urban. Yeah. So it's just like, there's just kind of people everywhere. And it's like you just never know. Every day is like potentially you're going to meet somebody insane. You found your place. Well, you know, the Country Music Awards just recently, a few weeks ago, you were given an award.

I was. What the hell? The Global Country Artist Award. So then they surprised you with it, right? They did. So they played it really cool. Like, they said I was doing this live cross to Channel 9 in Australia and it was Tyler Hubbard from Florida Georgia Line was going to be joining me because he's headlining CMC Rocks next year.

So I was like, well, that's amazing. All of this makes sense. It makes sense. Happy to be there. The red carpet, Post Malone was walking in front of me. Luke Combs was walking behind me. I was just like fangirling like beyond belief. Now, what do you do?

Because I know you're on the red carpet, so you're having to try and play a certain level of coolness yeah do you selfie mode it's what's going on not really no i i don't know i think it's nice in those moments just to kind of like you take a selfie with nature's camera your eyes yes and remember it for the rest of your life nature's hard drive your brain we've got one of those in our brains you're right so yeah i mean the whole america red carpet like it's a whole nother level of wild and yeah and then i was just doing this live cross on australian tv and tyler hubbard jumps in the chat because he's part of the interview and then he pulled the award out from behind his back and i was just like yeah it was amazing it

was i'm so grateful that they made it really special because it's like i'll remember that for the rest of my life. So it was pretty amazing. And it's been a massive year. So the CMA award, you've toured with Ed Sheeran. Yeah, what? It was such a human experience on the level of like, he was so cool. And we got so much time with him and his team just like looked after us so well. And I feel like I learned a lot from it as well, you know,

about culture and how I want to run my kind of touring thing. But also just on that personal level of like make jokes with Ed Sheeran and be idiots. Like I didn't see that one coming at the start of the year. What's the greatest bit of advice Ed Sheeran gave you? He was talking about playing live And when people go to stadiums for sports games And how half's there for one team

And half is there for the other team So no one's actually there for the same thing Whereas with music Everybody is there for the same reason And that's kind of summed it up for me When he said that music brings us all together Like genuinely it does So yeah, I remember that
