The Jono Ben and Megan podcast, thanks to Dilma.
Goodness really does taste great.
Dilma, making the world a better tea.
Something that happened to me yesterday,
I was just waiting to grab my daughter for something
and went up the road from her school
and just went, oh, we'll just pop into a cafe
and do a little bit of work on my laptop.
You love that.
I do. It's quite a lot.
I find it a lot more productive
because there's not distractions around,
you know, like I should just put this washing on.
Yeah, you can't go away.
I'm going to call me.
I'm just going to just lock in, as my kids would say,
and bash out some stuff.
Are you, uh, excuse me, what's your Wi-Fi pass?
Nah, no, I'm not punishing anyone for that.
Excuse me?
Yeah.
Sometimes they just have it there.
Sometimes they're just a lovely touch.
And I log into it.
If not, I'm just like, oh, you have a hotspot off my phone.
Do you know for bloody about four years?
I let this guy plug into my hot spot, my very special hotspot.
He just kept coming up.
You don't want you get someone's hotspot and then it comes up and then it's just like,
I just keeps connecting to it.
I'm like, oh, it's just connected.
Yeah.
He was in and out of my hotspot.
Nonstop, I had no idea for about three, four years.
Yeah, it came up, well.
And then what happened?
Everything just fizzled out.
Relationship.
They deny, they deny you.
My hotspot closed up.
You got a headache.
Exactly.
So anyway, I was trying to do something on my phone.
My wife had sent me a photo and I was trying to do something.
Long story, anyway.
To send the photo to my computer and I decided to eardrop that photo.
And as I was, actually, no, the other way.
around. I was doing that. And then as it came up, you know, sometimes you get the, the thing comes up. And then suddenly someone else's hot spot comes in. Yeah. And kind of someone else's
computer comes in over the top and you just go, click to that one. And you're like, oh, do you God, I haven't sent it to my one. I've sent it to someone else's hot spot.
They have the option now to accept. Yes. And I didn't, and it didn't really notice until right near the end. I just saw it sort of going through. And then it, because it said my one, I'm like, cool, click on that one. And then all of a sudden, I looked down. I was like, oh, that's not my, that's not mine just as I looked down that accepted it.
It's followed me, me asleep.
My wife had two cups of tea holding in front.
I was like, oh, and then you're sitting there and you're like,
so I've accepted that, and now I'm looking around just really suddenly, like.
Because also, I've got my photo.
It says Ben Boyce would like to send you this picture.
It says, Benjamin's phone on my way.
And this is sort of ladies sort of look around.
Did she spot?
Look around with sort of locked eyes.
And I was like, hey, yes.
Sorry, that was trying to, you know, when I'm all flustered, I just sort of ramble stuff
and I didn't really like that.
And she's going to look down the photo and look back at me and did nothing.
And then I was like, should I go over and say, can you delete this photo?
Or what can you do with this?
That's a screisper.
Well, yeah, it's about fun of me in bed.
But yeah.
But it's not that spicy at all.
But yeah, there you go.
It's this one here.
There's two cups of tea and I'm in bed with my arm up, but I'm fast asleep.
Oh, so you had ordered the tea.
My wife was bringing me in tea and I follow the safe.
And then you passed out before.
Yeah.
That's great.
Yeah, no, that's nice.
Wait, are you, is that a tea in bed?
Well, yeah, I don't think I'm not a tea in bed person,
so I don't think I would have ordered the tea.
She was just bringing in.
There's a, I think a gag, and then the gag got funnier for her,
because it's fun of me fast asleep.
It feels like the whole air drop world, too much responsibility for us to have.
It's like the equivalent of going around just putting something in someone's pocket.
No, it's like, yeah.
Yeah, here you go, you're like this.
But isn't there a code now?
There's sometimes because when I try an air drop,
the receiver has to give the sender a code.
Oh, sometimes, yeah.
Because I imagine all the wild stuff.
Yeah, because people on trains and girls just get random pictures.
Yeah, so I apologise to that.
John O'Ben and Megan, the podcast.
We did a little something on social media this week,
where we each got to say a little, you know, lighthearted confession.
Well, some of us did. Megan, yours was all like...
bleeped out.
Leaped out.
I honestly don't know what you said.
We went into a week confessional booth and you, uh,
Yeah, mine was spicy.
Mine was spicy.
You realize in this day and age,
you know, people online
they can uncensor things.
Can they?
Yeah, un-pixelate things.
Oh, you had a lot of, no, I don't know.
Did you cover my mouth?
Oh, okay, great.
If anyone can,
if someone who's dealing in their crypto
can also unsensor and unbleeped Megan.
You know, on social when everyone's like,
oh, where are the lip-readers at for famous people?
Not, you know, like when you see,
like, Harry talking to Megan,
and you're like, what are they saying?
Lip-readers.
Let's get the lip-readers on this one.
Yeah.
So, okay, we don't know what Megan's a light-hearted.
Well, I don't think it's a light-hearted confession,
but we thought, we took some people into the draw for the Food Fighters,
which is given away today on the Hits Concert World Tour.
You confess something to us.
4-48-7 on the text or 100 of the hits the other day.
Jono?
Oh, another confession.
No, what did you say the other day?
Oh, the thing I said the other day was about two or maybe three bin days ago.
So it would have been two or three weeks ago.
I had some excess rubbish.
and under the cover of darkness on my way to work,
I may have distributed that to my neighbour's rubbish bin.
It's funny how that feels so wrong, eh?
It's felt dirty.
Was it rubbish day?
It was rubbish, yeah, the bins were out.
So their bin was out.
Yeah, I didn't go onto their property and put it in.
That still feels a little wrong.
In my mind, they're like, we're finished with this, they've put it out.
If there's space...
An old guy from up the road made me take it out of when I did that.
Oh, that's been ridiculous.
And I was like, yeah.
If there's a gap in my bin, you can.
can chuck it in.
Oh, there you go.
Yeah, Ben, you had to humiliatingly sort of dive back into the bin.
Oh, no.
Was he standing over you going, that's yours, that's yours?
Yeah, and I was like, I'll put it up.
Same thing.
I was a rubber stays tomorrow.
You've put it out.
No, put it enough.
Take it out.
That's my confession anyway.
What's yours, Ben?
I will basically confess.
It happened another day someone knocked on the door.
I wasn't in the position to want to answer it.
And so I just hid.
I think you're going to say wasn't in the position too.
answer it like you're naked or something but you're like I just was like I didn't know I couldn't see who's this I don't know what this is all
about I don't know what it is so I'll just pretend not in the position to see another human and deal with
you looked at the dog and I was like I've done that I've definitely done that I first time I've did it and
yeah what do you just stand still just sort of yeah didn't but sometimes you realize after
your shadows yeah and they can see your shadow yeah felt wrong not not breathing
Holding your breath.
And in the end, it might have been a courier.
I know, and then you go to look at the door
and there's like a calling card for the courier
and it's like, ugh.
Could have just answered that door.
How long do you stand there until you're like,
are they gone?
Yeah, what's the time frame you were hiding for?
Oh, it's probably only like 30 seconds or so.
I guess a couple of knocks.
It was a knock, another knock.
And then, but it still felt like a long.
It felt like hours.
Curriers should have a different knock.
Yes.
Yeah, right.
Okay.
Yeah.
So you want to confess something,
a lighthearted confession for us on a Friday.
and a heavy one depends how badly you want to get in the drawer.
Yeah, you can get on the air, get in the drawer for the food fighters in Brisbane
giving away this afternoon on the Hits.
John O'Bennon and Megan, the Podcast.
The Hits.
You know, teenage daughters, they're big fans of Snapchat and they're like,
we're going to sign you up for Snapchat.
And I was like, no, don't.
I already feel like my social media cup is full.
I don't need another thing to have to worry about.
And also being on Snapchat.
And I'm not saying that everyone on Snapchat is more in the teenage younger category,
but it feels like that's their preferred method of getting in touch with it.
You're like, this is not, leave the kids to be.
Yeah.
That's right.
What is the core, obviously, communication, but like the core, do you post, can you put,
I sound like such a boom here.
Can you chuck up video, like your prank videos?
Can you put them on Snapchat?
I think people will do that, not as much and stuff, but I think people will, most the time,
it's just like, you know, sending each other pictures or messages or little videos between friends and stuff.
You can do directs or you can chuck stuff up for general.
So often they will, you know, like, my daughters will message me.
and stuff. They will message me more on that. So that's been
nice, but I'm like, I'm just going to keep my circle
tight. You always, and you didn't
want to find yourself becoming
friends with underage children.
This is the thing, yes. I'm like, this is my,
this is my circle. It's myself and my daughter.
That is it. There's no one else. Now I get
requests of people, I'm like, no. People trying to penetrate
that circle. It's like a private. It's like a private
snatchet. Yeah, I'm not, yeah, I'm not, I've
accept, I've accepted, but I'm not accepting. But then on the
weekend, I had my daughter's good friend.
She was around. She was hanging out. She was
like, are you on Snapchat?
I'm like, yeah, she's like, sent your request.
I'm like, I can't.
Can't penetrate the circle.
I can't accept it.
And my daughters are like, why not?
Why can't you be free?
We know, I'm like, yeah, she's good.
But I'm not, I just can't.
I can't.
You're a teenage girl.
I'm not, you know, I'm not.
I can't.
She's like, why?
And they're all like, why?
Why would you accept her request?
She's right here right now.
And it was like face to face.
She's like, accept my request.
I'm like, I can't, I can't do it.
I'm not going to be.
It just feels like it's a, you know.
Feels a key.
Yeah, it does.
It feels like you to me.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
I know.
I know.
I know.
It's the same time.
I'm so sorry.
I like it.
You're cool,
but I'm not.
No.
You haven't even accepted
Producer Grace's request.
No, I've told it.
Exactly.
I'm not going to do it.
Not going to do it.
Once I start.
Yeah.
There's tears as well.
Once you accept one person.
Producer Grace,
it's just re-requested.
Accept Grace.
Accept Grace.
Oh,
later in your circle.
Circle.
Tight.
Later in the circle.
I mean, you're, you know, yeah, it's fine.
You see her every day.
You don't need her on Snapchat.
In a court of law, everything's above board.
Yeah, I know.
What is your Snapchat name?
Have you got like a...
I don't think it's actually anything too much outside of my own name, really, but it's the circle's very tight.
Okay.
That's for the best.
That's for the best.
You can delete it.
I know, but then I get, I do get a lot of messages from my kids.
I tell you what the good thing is because there's a whole snap streak and they love keeping a street going.
The most relieving thing is now breaking that streak.
I don't have to every day feel like I have to send a video back of me with a snorke on a filter or something.
You're a dog filter.
I'm like, I'm out of the streak.
It's okay.
The imagery I've seen my son clogging up Snapchat with close-ups of chins and ceilings and couches.
I'm like, this is, guys, this is sitting somewhere in a hard drive in a desert, sucking up lake loads of water just to hold all this content.
That's true.
Yeah, but they love it.
No, I love it, don't they?
They love it.
But hey.
Jono, Ben and Megan.
The heads
That's at Kevin Boyce
Yeah I like a catch up with him
Once a week on the phone
He lives down on Capita Coast
And we'll talk about stuff
And often we'll talk about sports
As part of it as well
Do you call your dad more than your mom?
Yeah well he's a very good call
He's a very good caller
Yeah
He's often
You said one of the big issues
When you talk to Kevin Boyce on the phone
Is if he's with someone else
That you don't know
He'll hand the phone over to them
It's a classic
Oh you've got to talk to Trish
If you've got up with her lately
And I'll be like
No no no no
Hello good I'm
Trish.
Trish is my uncle's first.
She bloody knows you from the TV.
And over it is.
And we'll be like, oh, good-day, yeah,
because, you know, until they've been throwing
a month into this conversation.
But anyway, he'll love to send, you know, emojis.
I'm glad he's getting into the emoji game on text messages.
A couple weeks ago, I was a bit confused because I text about something,
I think it was sport-related with the Warriors.
And he replied back with the nerd emoji and the thumbs up.
just next to each other.
It got inside your head.
You spend 20 minutes trying to decipher that message.
It was a group text, wasn't it?
No, it was just to me.
It was just to me.
I said, yeah.
I said, Warriors and played well with something
because we talked about sport
and he's just like nerd emoji thumbs up.
I don't know what that means.
Is that not the second time he's done the nerd emoji to you?
Yeah, he's done that a couple times.
The one with the little buck teeth in the sort of glasses.
I hate to say it, but I think that represents you.
This might be me.
That might be me.
But yesterday I got another emoji from my dad
and I was a bit confused by it.
So we thought we'd start.
Sometimes you feel like, you know, your parents just kind of close their eyes,
smear their hand across the selection of emojis and push-send.
Yeah.
And maybe that's what he's done.
But we've started a new segment right now.
It's got an intro.
What does Kevin Boyce mean by that emoji?
Morning, Kevin, boys, speaking.
Oh, sorry.
It's an early morning wake-up call.
It's your son, Ben, Jono, Megan.
We're all here.
Hi, Dave.
Second of moment.
Good morning.
How's things in Australia.
He's got the first gag away, so he's, it doesn't matter.
They have to get up pretty early in the morning to get one over Kevin, that's for sure.
Well done, yes.
There you are always ready to radio.
There is never a time that Kevin Boys is not ready for broadcast.
That's exactly right.
Is that you, Jono, is it?
It is, mate, is, Kev.
Lovely to meet you, yeah.
Keep taking those pills, because you're looking better.
Now, Kevin bends on another emoji.
investigation. We were just talking about one you sent a couple of weeks back about the nerd emoji
in response to some texts. Now I want to know about this one. So the text message exchange,
we had a conversation in the weekend. You sent me a text afterwards because we often talk
about sport. Now we hadn't got to the sporting stage. So you sent me a text afterwards saying,
hey, meant to say something about the New Zealand sports team. So the all whites, the white, the
white ferns cricket, the warriors are up against it, but the black caps seem en route to win their
first win over England and a series since 2022.
So you said that.
And I replied back and said that it was a great win for the cricket because that had happened afterwards.
And then you sent back, what can I even describe as a juggler emoji?
A woman with a bowtie and juggling balls in the air.
I think the sportsman is always juggling.
And balls in the air.
And you guys do it with your work too.
And I suppose that in the sense that I haven't got out of it.
How about that?
Whatever he's saying is a wonderful metaphor.
Do you just go in and go any, many, mighty mo?
Or was there a...
I've got a dartboard with these emojis on.
And wherever it hits, it just goes.
Like, here's a prawn, a saxophone,
and a wheelchair to celebrate the occasion.
Put them all together.
It's good to know that you mean absolutely nothing by them too.
I know, because send that to a gymz
and you're going to be requesting something quite different.
Hey, boy, it's got a beautiful reaction.
Yes, well, we've talked about it again.
That's another killer voice emoji.
We'll catch up next time when you send another random...
John O'Bennon and Megan.
The podcast.
That's we see some people and I do it from the time time I was just like they're a cool person
you know you look at someone you're like that's a cool person and is it someone who calls your
brother well yeah at a way there's a guy at the at the gym that I go to the gym and go but sometimes
the kids sometimes by myself but there's just a guy you know wandering around I'm like he's a cool
he works at the gym I was like he's just a cool just seems like a cool guy I've spoken to him a couple
of times he's from america he's got yeah the american accent and stuff I'm like he's is he's a good
motivator around the gym as he keeps people friendly and lovely as well but you know
I was a cool guy
and then the other day
I came back
my kids were like
you're so excited
and I said what happened
and I was like
they called gym guy
you give me a fist bump
and I was like
oh and you know
it really made my day
you know
because I've talked to him
a couple times
really but just someone
come around and go hey man
you know like
I was like oh
it's fist bump
the kids were like
well you're so excited
I don't know
it was like
so just banging fists
with another human being
really changed
your outlook on life
oh but then yesterday
oh wow
so I went to the gym
and I was wearing
and I you know
you put on your gym clothes
but my cap was, I guess, my Toy Story for a cap.
Oh, risky.
And he was, yeah, and I was one with a gym clothes and wearing it, you know,
it's part of the rotate of the gym clothes, the clothes that you wear for, you know,
going to the gym, probably not much else.
Were you wearing it back?
No, we're at forwards.
And he complimented my hat.
And I'm like, oh, damn.
Was he like, cool cap?
Did he fist bump you while complimenting the hat?
No, no, he was across from the counter, but I was like,
this is making me feel like a million bucks.
We talked a little bit about Toy Story.
I was like, oh man.
You know, but it's amazing the impact.
Were you giddy?
Oh, man.
It's a cool thing that people can do on your life.
Just little things and make you feel like, give you a little pep in your step.
Well, the polar opposite, too, of that Toy Story saga.
We were going through the airport in Wellington the other day,
and his bad as Toy Story 4 backpack got pulled aside.
Now, I've got a compliment just 30 seconds before that from one of the people working through on security.
The person like at the start of the conveyor belt.
Right backpack.
Love it.
Oh, that's good.
And then the person who was looking at the bag,
she didn't seem like a huge fan of it.
She said, is this your bag?
You know, with a tone.
And you said, yes, confidently.
She said, hmm.
And then she proceeded to look through what was in the bag
and you had a rogue battery or something in there, didn't you?
She was like, I didn't expect it in a grown man to have this bag.
She's right.
She's right.
You can feel the judgment.
Are you confronted with that regularly with that judgment?
Yeah, I've kind of learned to live with that.
I rode the lift with someone from Radio Horeki the other day.
I could feel that...
No one said anything, but there was a moment I was like, he's seen the bag.
I like that, though.
I like that about you.
I don't care.
I'm like, yeah.
That shows confidence.
But I definitely knew he'd seen the bag, and he was like, in his head he was like,
okay.
People are talking behind your backpack.
And then he was probably going, how old was his kids?
You know, like probably piecing all those things together, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, anyway, my bag.
But I don't know the gym.
Take it into the gym?
Yeah.
Oh, Jim go, I love it.
Oh, yeah, double fistbub on that one, I think so.
So you don't know his name?
No, no, but maybe I'll try and get it.
Maybe he's love the guy, yeah.
You know what I'm thinking, John.
What?
Let me call.
Oh, don't.
Oh, don't, don't know.
I want to call him.
Don't spoil it.
We're in a good spot.
We're in a good spot.
Don't spoil it.
He's going to have to go to another city fitness.
Yeah, I don't want to not go in there.
All right.
I've already said too much.
John O'Ben and Megan, the podcast.
that.
I had an email over the weekends that it kind of threw me,
and I was thinking about it quite a lot.
And tell you,
who doesn't get emails?
Christopher Nolan.
He'll never be thrown by an email.
Yeah, now, just to give you context,
as soon as I give you context,
you'll probably work out what I was doing.
But John is the manager of 660, the band.
He's an American guy,
and, you know, I've met him over the years many times,
and a couple of times I have emailed him
about various things,
a little bits of filming,
and actually help me get some tickets
in the United States when I was over there once,
so he lives over in America.
So it's not.
unusual for me to get an email from John from 660.
Not all the time, but John.
And then we've got John who is, he's the New Zealand correspondent for this radio show.
Oh, Kiwi John.
Kiwi Guy lives in America.
Oh, yeah, John lives in Portland.
Yeah, that's right.
So I got an email over the weekend.
It said, John 660.
And in my head, I was like, oh, this is John from 660, the manager.
That would make sense.
Yeah.
And I was like, oh, John 660.
And I was just like, it just said, hey, Ben, guess what?
660 are performing in America at Baltimore.
it's sold out and I'll be there.
John.
So you're like, well, as your job as a manager.
And I was like, well, there's a real hum-
there's a brag from John.
Yeah, the manager of 660.
I was like, that was a really unusual thing for him to really send me.
It was guess what?
And when was the last time you heard from John?
Well, it's been probably a few months.
It's returned to your inbox.
I said, guess what?
They're sold out and I'm going to be there.
And I thought all day.
And I was like, that was really, really.
really unusual.
You've got an in for tickets, mate.
Like, yeah.
It was like, yeah.
Until I thought about later that day and I was like, uh-oh, I see what I've done here.
I think it's from John, the US correspondent.
Did you reply to John 6,6, thinking you're talking to John 6.
No, I had it at that stage, thankfully.
You're still downloading the email.
It was like, really weird brag that he's going along to see the band that he manages
and they're sold out.
Yeah.
And then I went back and looked at later.
I was like, I was from John who listened to this radio show in there.
He's going along.
Well, we must get it.
We'll get a review from Kiwi John.
Yeah.
Why don't we connect John with John?
We should.
At the 660 show.
I don't think they're doing it until September or something I looked into it last night.
But yeah.
We can get them both to do a review.
And send me emails as well and I'll try and work out which John.
John O'Bin and Megan.
The podcast.
The hits.
Over the weekend, I had something that I had my birthday and I don't really love to talk about my birthday.
I'm not a birthday person like yourself, Megan.
Just call it level.
That's what I've started doing.
because it feels like you're playing a game.
And I do appreciate that.
You guys gave me a lovely gift as well,
which I could put towards a new Warriors jersey
where can buy with no real consequence at home.
You're like, what do you give the man
who's got every Warriors jersey ever invented?
Money to buy another Warriors jersey.
No, but I can appreciate.
I have lots of shoes.
I have lots of, you know, things I don't need,
but I always want more.
That was very kind of year.
It was very kind.
And it's not great.
And the family, you know, the kids can really get into it.
birthdays for kids is just the best thing.
They count down all stuff and they're ready to get your birthday's coming up.
My thanks are the constant reminders.
But it's nice you get to celebrate with them.
So that was nice.
It shouldn't change, Ben.
And we went out and we did activities.
And so, you know, me, I like my activities with mini part, went to the Warriors.
And that was all good.
But one of the presents that my daughter's got me or the present that my daughter's got me were Birx,
Birk and Stocks.
Yeah.
And I was a little surprised by that.
I was like, oh, Birx, because I hadn't showed any.
I know they're very common.
cool. Like I know people wear burks and they're very cool, but I hadn't gone, you know what?
I'm going to be a, did you have, you thought your feet weren't up to Burke's standard?
Well, maybe not. To Burke standards. I hadn't thought of myself as a burk and stock person. I hadn't got, I hadn't even, and it ended my mind.
What kind? Are they the covered toe like shoe ones?
It was a, you know, a summertime. Yeah. And they are cool. But I was like, oh, oh, because I'm a, you know, jandles, but most of the time I'm a crox. I'm a crox.
That's my thing. With my Disney Jim, it's on crox.
See, that feels tougher to execute than Birx to me.
And I'm happy to do the Disney, you know, the Disney gibbets on my crocs.
But I got the Birx.
I hadn't thought about that, but thank you very much, guys.
And they were like, you know, my daughter's like, you should give it a go.
Dad, they're really cool, you know.
And then they said, maybe you could wear your crocs with the Disney gibbets at home.
Oh, yeah, okay.
And the Birx could be the...
We've got you some adult shoes.
Yeah, I was like, oh, this is a manipulation present, isn't it?
This is targeted at me going.
So what are you going to do now?
I don't know.
You can go on a point-proving mission.
I'm torn.
I'm torn because I love my crocs.
Two questions.
Are the crocs in the jibbutts is not cool anymore?
Or is it not cool when you wear the crocs in the jibbutt?
Yeah, I feel like it's probably the second one.
It's not cool when I'm putting the Disney gibbits and stuff all over the crocs.
But I'm rolling with it.
I'm rolling with it.
Maybe you shouldn't roll with it.
I think it's what the family is saying.
I also have always agreed.
You've actually given you the ACC, right?
Yeah.
I like his Buzz Lighty you ones.
No, that's my least.
My least favourite.
Don't you let them get you down, though?
I try to get me into wear it for a day.
You could even wear it out of the studio.
Because they're disgusting.
She wouldn't even, yeah.
They're green and purple, and they light up.
And they look like Buzz Light here.
They're jibbets.
They're very cool.
But anyway, so maybe I'm a book and stock guy.
We'll find out sometime.
I would really appreciate that.
There's someone who goes out with you in public.
I would have really appreciate it.
All right, we'll find out.
John O'Ben and Megan, the podcast, the hits.
Now, my wife, well, there's something that she does from time to time.
And it's kind of, like, it's kind of cute the idea behind it.
You know, often she'll wear a hoodie or a jersey of mine.
She'll go, I like that one, I'll wear it.
And I'm cool with that.
I do that with my wife's clothes.
I'm like, it's nice.
I like it when she wears the thing.
It's fine.
It's cool.
I bought a nice jersey the other day, 100% wool.
I'm like, cool.
And she's like, oh, I like this.
I'll wear this.
I'm like, that's fine.
But what she does, and it really annoys me, is she just pull the sleeves up.
Like, if she needs to get in the kitchen.
Once the forearms out.
She needs to get in the kitchen or something.
She'll pull the sleeves up and pull up the sleeves up over the sort of elbow.
Well, that's a big width she's creating there.
Yeah.
And I'm like, because it's my hoodie or my jersey in this case.
I'm like, oh, and my head, I'm like, she's going to stretch the cuff.
She's stretched the cuff.
And I know it's not a huge issue, but they don't.
They don't re-bole.
They don't re-bond.
No, they don't.
You're right.
And I can't say that to her and she's like, who happened?
I'm like, when you're wearing your hoodies, jumpers, whatever, it's fine.
You do what you want.
But when you're wearing mine, you just to stop.
And sometimes we're having serious conversations, a bit of stuff going on at home at the moment.
Last night we're talking about that.
And she was wearing my jersey and all I could think of was she's pulled up.
She's pulled up.
And it's not the time to go, hey, the cuffs are up over the, you know.
Over the elbows, too.
And we were having quite a serious sort of conversation.
I mean, it's fine for like, let's say, a washing hands.
You can pull them up, I think.
Over the elbows, I feel like too far.
Like a little bit's fine, but you don't need to...
When you go halfway up with the forearms, acceptable?
Is that a little too far for you?
I'd rather have wet cuffs than...
Because expanded cuffs, they don't...
I don't know.
It's a problem that annoys me and probably nobody else in the world,
but it just really irks me.
I would love...
The conversation you're having last night sounds very personal and intense.
Was there any moment you could have brought up the cuffs?
No, and it wasn't like...
At the end of the conversation,
Hey, just as we're wrapping things up.
Can we just look after the cuffs?
It wouldn't have been the time.
But, yeah, but it was in my head.
I'm like, stop, get it out of my head.
It's not important right now.
But we're not focusing on what the actual topic was.
Because the cuffs will be expanded.
So, yeah, just a little something.
Maybe no one else has an issue with it.
You do have petite, beautiful little wrists.
Like, even the hoodie I'm wearing now.
Has she stretched that?
No, because I bought her one of the same,
so she can do what she wants with their one.
Stretch the cuffs all day long.
You can do whatever you want on that one.
Oh, well, this is a safe space.
Ben.
Jono, Ben and Megan,
the podcast.
The hits.
Megan, I was thinking of the weekend,
you'd be very disappointed with me.
Is it food related?
No, it's not food related.
It's car related.
It's car, because I know you're a huge fan of Formula One,
and you love cars.
You love.
And a long story, but basically...
Had Lewis Hamilton over for a barbecue.
Oh, Jesus.
No, nothing like that.
But a couple months ago,
my daughter and I,
we needed a flash car for one bit of filming we were doing,
not to take it anywhere,
just to film with the car.
So this love...
place that rents out luxury cars let us film in front of their car for this thing that's
coming out later and on the day they're like oh you should come up with another idea um if you want
to borrow one of the cars at some stage it'd be good you know to do something so i thought well to help
them out to do that and over the weekend they let me take one of their luxury cars out for this
little thing i was doing for social media what did you take it was oh where was my phone call it was an
Audi r8 v10 green it's like i think it's worth two 300 thousand dollars worth a car
jeez how nervous for you oh this is the thing i was like i was driving with my wife and she was
this is the slowest this car is probably ever been driven.
Like I was getting people passing me and like,
I was like, it's too much car for me.
Like it's,
this wasn't even filming,
this was just me getting it to where I needed to go.
And I was just like,
well,
I was like,
we are getting passed in a 50K area by other people,
you know?
Oh,
you're going below 50.
I'm just like,
so nervous about how much it worth and not,
yeah,
it was basically, yeah.
Was that the car there?
Oh, my gosh.
And it's a beautiful, it's a beautiful car.
What you didn't need was then to tell you the recommended retail value of the vehicle before you drove it.
That is the moment you call your friend Megan.
Oh no.
And she drives it.
And I was the only one on the license for it.
My wife really wanted to drive it.
I was the only one down.
I was like, sorry, it has to be me driving it back.
And I was just like, oh, I can think it was Megan would be so disappointed.
I crawled around side streets just, you know, parking away from the curb.
No, no.
No, no, motorway.
How far away from the curb did you park?
Oh, so far away.
Like, yeah, I would have got 51Ks at top speed.
As I took a bat, the guy's like, is that?
That's a waste.
I was like, yeah, I just wanted to get it back.
I just wanted to get it back.
I did the filming?
Such a waste.
It worked great, all that sort of stuff.
I know you're not supposed to speed on the motorway,
so what you do is you make sure there's no cars around
and you slow right down.
And then you put your foot down.
I got it back, comfortably got it back.
It was parked, and I was just like, yeah,
I can think it was being so disappointed to me.
It's just wasted, you know?
Were you even talking when you're driving or you just...
Oh, my wife is trying to film me.
I'm like, we're not filming now.
This is just me driving.
How white were your knuckles?
Yeah, I was very nervous.
So, yeah.
