Starting point is 00:00:00 The Hits with Jono and Ben's Burnaphone. G'day, welcome to the Burnaphone. Jono and Ben here. Wednesday, November 1, the 11th month of the year. I'm not good at... No, you're right. 11th, you got that correct. Yeah, no, I'm generally not good with... You name a month and I'll try and figure out the number and which order it comes in.
Starting point is 00:00:20 May. Five. July. That's always tripped me up. Is it seven? Yep. Is that okay? May. Five. July. That always trips me up. Is it seven? Yep. September. Nine. Nine.
Starting point is 00:00:33 You're right. It's easier probably at the start and towards the end of the year. The middle ones. But you're doing alright. I mean, not that you need to really. I mean, it doesn't happen that much, does it? I always, you know, every time you're filling out a form and when it requires you to put the date no matter if you've learned the date you know the date you never can remember what the date it is when you need to write it down that's something you're right you don't always unless it's today
Starting point is 00:00:56 like today first of first of november then you probably would remember that but yeah you're right other times you're like what day is it today the other thing i don't really commit to when having to fill out forms and things. Forms, I'm probably more committed to it. But it's like just your run of the mill, I need you to sign for this, the credit card or a courier. I'm never fully, I'm not giving my 100 with my signature. It's not my shop front signature. It's a line.
Starting point is 00:01:22 They just need something. Someone sign something to go with a wiggly line an acknowledgement of something yeah that's what they need right today on the phone uh well so we missed a call yesterday uh that we wanted to you know we wanted to call back i do appreciate the missed call they know that uh the phone will have acknowledged uh the attempt to call but they haven't gone through with the process of leaving the voicemail. In which, in many cases, is an arduous task. Hello? Hi, who's this?
Starting point is 00:01:51 Hi, it's Jono and Ben from the Burnerphone. We missed a call. Oh my God. Now we're calling you back. Oh, lovely. We could clear some messages, but we're like, no, we're not going to do that today. We're going to call back and get the mystery
Starting point is 00:02:03 of what was the message going to be. Now, let me guess, because we're like no we're not going to do that today we're going to call back and get the mystery of what was the message going to be what did you know now let me guess because we're worried that maybe you went to leave a message and you're like no no that's too harsh i can't tell them that uh whether you got stage fright about leaving a message or whether this was a complete wrong number uh i think it was stage fright oh okay well now we've really put you on the spot haven't we it made it a lot worse. You could have just left a message. You didn't even have to use your name now, but now we're calling you back,
Starting point is 00:02:31 and we're really putting you on the spot. Sorry about that. You must have brainstormed something to say loosely. Let's work through it. What was it? I can't even think. You put me on the spot. Okay, well, listen, we won't even ask your name,
Starting point is 00:02:43 but you need to tell us one fun fact about yourself. Okay, yeah. I've broken my back. Oh, jeez. That sounds like fun. It doesn't sound like a fun fact, but it sounds like a very, like, a full-on fact. Can we ask how it happened?
Starting point is 00:02:59 Yeah, pass. I don't know how I did it. You don't know how you did it? I think. What? And so you went, oh, my back's playing up a little bit and then you went, what, got an x-ray and they went, oh. Got an x-ray, yeah, your spine's fractured,
Starting point is 00:03:10 mate. And I was like, oh, really? Wow, your spine is fractured and, well, yeah, far out. Is it all okay now or is it still a bit? Oh, I'm off work for two weeks. Oh, jeez, two weeks? Is that all you get off work for, a broken back? I know. Feels like you can get a lot more
Starting point is 00:03:26 for that, but anyway. Is it back-breaking work you do? What was that? Is it back-breaking work that you do? What do you do? You don't dig, like, dig dreeches or anything like that? What's that, sorry? I sit at a desk. But although, once you do your back, you don't
Starting point is 00:03:42 realise how much of a role your back plays in your day-to-day function. It's bloody awful. Yeah. So what, are you just lying down flat now, are you? Yeah, watching TV. Yeah, bloody. They got you on the trammies, mate.
Starting point is 00:03:53 What's going on? Oh, yeah, I'm on the trammie. Yeah. Does that help or is it still sore? Oh, they've got me to sleep. Yeah, right. Oh, you poor thing. And so I guess when you're lying on your back and you can't move,
Starting point is 00:04:05 the only thing you can do is call a novelty podcast phone. Yeah, pretty much. I was just like, what can I do? I was like, surely this isn't going to work in a bloody way. Well, now we're talking to you on the podcast. Well, speedy recovery. I hope you get a lot better very quickly. Yeah, thanks.
Starting point is 00:04:19 I love it. I don't have much more to say, really. Oh, no way. Neither do we. But, you know. Okay, worst injury. Now, let's talk. Let's talk. Worst injury you've But, you know. Okay, worst injury. Now, let's talk. Let's talk.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Worst injury you've had, Ben. I mean, we've just come off a back break. So, I mean, anything's going to pale. I've never broken a bone. But then, I don't know. You didn't know you'd broken a bone either. And you ended up, you know, going along. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I've broken my arm twice. Once was hitting my brother. Oh, really? Yeah, right. You feel quite sick when you break a bone, don't you? Immediately after. Yeah, it's not fun. Yeah, it's quite nauseating.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah, yeah. Oh, well, jeez, you're back. Well, good luck with that. Have you had an MRI? Oh, no. No? Just two weeks off work. We'll see what happens in two weeks.
Starting point is 00:05:02 It feels like a very short amount of time, you know, but hey. Yeah, apparently it's not a major. There's not much they can do, but just carry on. I had a sore back recently and I went acupuncture. And one warning I'd give you about acupuncture, it doesn't hurt in any way whatsoever, but you're laying face down, you've got your head through the hole on the table.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Yeah, yeah. And a very sleepy conditions. You end up drooling, dozing off. Yeah. So if you're going to go, just put a little bloody spit bucket underneath, okay? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yep, yep. All right, well, lovely to talk to you
Starting point is 00:05:36 and let us know how you're getting on in a couple of weeks. Yeah, will do. Okay, cool. Have a good one. All right, there we go. That's the Burner Phone.
