Starting point is 00:00:00 The Hits with Jono and Ben's Burnaphone who works here. Sounds like it's a bugbear. It's having the attention on you in the office. Yeah, yeah. You know, with a birthday morning tea. And Harriet, our boss, she does a wonderful job of making everyone feel very special on their birthday. She does, actually. Yeah. And she's now,
Starting point is 00:00:35 because you and I are not huge cake consumers, and so she's now given us the choice of getting a round of hot drinks for the team, if you'd like that instead, which is lovely. Yeah. It is lovely. It is a lovely thing. I thought I would record.
Starting point is 00:00:50 You're always recording. Everyone's being quite worried about you now because you're secretly recording everyone. I know. I'm getting some good intel. Producer Taylor's got a lot of, I've got a list of recordings of Producer Taylor, none of which were actually even used. They're just sort of stored in my files. But this was the birthday sing-along
Starting point is 00:01:06 And the pace of it Because I know you're like The song drags It lags They could pace it up So it started slow Then it picked up pace So it started slow. Then it picked up pace.
Starting point is 00:01:32 So there we go. That started, it went happy. And then you, I noticed, were you picked up the pace? I did. I tried to get the clap thing going along. Yeah, just to kind of get it. I feel like the clap sometimes, but that one didn't really pick up too much. How much faster do you want it? It feels like the timer, you can get the clap.
Starting point is 00:01:47 We had it on Friday night, come to think of it. I went and saw some friends at a bar, and someone, it was interesting, someone would arrive or whatever, hear someone yell out someone's name, whatever it was, not even in our party. Someone would just start singing happy birthday. And it was amazing how quickly the rest of the bar would start singing because people would be like, oh, it's someone's birthday. It's what we do.
Starting point is 00:02:08 No one questions it. No, until probably four or five times into the evening where everyone would be like, oh, we're singing this again, aren't we? And no one would know when it got to the name of the person part. Yeah. And we wouldn't either because we're like, who's birthday? It's amazing how everyone would just join in. You're like, why am I singing this right now?
Starting point is 00:02:26 And then once it does pick up, if you don't join in, then you look like a little bit of a Grinch. Should we do that? Let's do an experiment right now. Let's call a number at random. We'll start singing happy birthday, see if they join in. They might not over the phone. They might pretend that it's their birthday.
Starting point is 00:02:39 I thought that would be a funny video too, is going around saying, have we done that? We went over the cake, did we? Yeah, we did. No, we did. Was that here? Yeah, it was. Have we done that? We were out of the cake, didn't we? No, we did. Was that here? Yeah, it was. We should do that again. Because you know you've been doing this job a long time
Starting point is 00:02:50 when you forget what you've done. What you did, yeah. It kind of seems vaguely familiar. Okay, we'll go through to a hair salon here. Okay, we'll just start saying happy birthday and see if they join in. They probably think it's for them though, won't they? So they probably won't join in.
Starting point is 00:03:05 That's what I was about to say. Anyway, we'll give it a go. It's your birthday. Good morning. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Jono. Happy birthday to you hip hip hooray
Starting point is 00:03:28 hooray she's gone she's gone what happened there as we were doing that i was like what exactly are we trying to get out of this? I don't know. I don't know. The Burda phone. Experimental. Off-Broadway stuff. I guess we were wanting her to sing along, but then she's not. But then why would she sing along? You're right, because she's not. We're singing it to her.
Starting point is 00:03:53 She's like, it's not my birthday. I'm out of it. Oh, well, there we go. That was the Burda phone today. If you want to leave us a message, you can do so. 4487. Just text Burda. Well, here's the details.
