Starting point is 00:00:00 The Hits with Jono and Ben's Burnaphone Yeah. Wow. I remember when you were just knee-high to a grasshopper. Oh, yeah, true. Yeah. Now, do kids still hate it when adults say, I remember when you used to be this tall? Is it still a thing? Is it still an issue? I don't think adults can remember that far back. It was like, when did that happen?
Starting point is 00:00:39 What do you mean, Edie? You've got a very blue mouth. Have you eaten those, like, baker's delights? I only like the icing bit. the bread part's just a waste you can tell it looks like you've eaten an avatar character you can tell
Starting point is 00:00:50 it's like what is going on there yeah I'm a bit blue blue buns that baker's delight are doing yeah for prostate cancer which is a lovely thing
Starting point is 00:00:58 they're doing at the moment delicious buns so yeah yeah they're yum but they need more icing on them well you've just eaten all the icing
Starting point is 00:01:03 from all of them look at your mouth I don't think they need any more icing they need more icing on them well you've just eaten all the icing from all of them look at your mouth I don't think they need more icing they need a lot less of that well we're going to clear our burner phone message

Starting point is 00:01:19 cheer just a greeting that's nice that's lovely should we give them a call their number comes up on the burner phone
Starting point is 00:01:24 doesn't it? Oh, hello? Hello, Julia speaking. Oh, Julia, it's Jono and Ben calling from the Hits. Hi. Hey, now you left a message on our burner phone saying, have a great day, cheer. Do you remember doing that?
Starting point is 00:01:40 Yeah, a second ago. Yeah, so yeah. You remember doing that? It was a touching message, we loved it. Have a great day, cheer. It pulled on our heartstrings. What would make your day better today? Um... No, I've asked this, it's a too open-ended question, isn't it? Because you've got to go, a million dollars and I'm not going to be able to help you with that.
Starting point is 00:02:04 So how about, do you like Taylor Swift? yeah i think i do yes i do can we put it on me right now can we put you in the drawer to go say you see taylor swift in sydney oh that would be magnificent did you have a good day church yes i've had a great day what have i told you we can't do anything he's promised? No, we can put you in the drawer. We can put you in the drawer. You're in the drawer. I could win it, and that would be even way more fun. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:02:30 That would be better cheer, wouldn't it? That would be a lot of cheer. Yeah. Hey, good on you. Well done. We'll put you in that drawer. Thanks so much. Hey, what are you doing?
Starting point is 00:02:38 What are you doing right now? Sitting in my car just finished at the gym. Oh, wow. Good on you. What did we work on today mate? We did a step class and now I'm about to go to my plasma donation Oh, good on you Obviously you donate plasma, what do they use it for?
Starting point is 00:02:55 To help people That's awesome Leukemia and all sorts and stuff But yeah, the demand is really high for needing plasma Hold on, what a lovely person you are. This is an interesting concept. You say helping people? What does that feel like to help people?
Starting point is 00:03:12 I imagine that's the rewarding feeling that some people get, Jono. I must give it a go someday. Schedule it in. Schedule it in one day. You have a wonderful day. We'll put you in the drawer. You too. Thank you. See you, mate. There you go. That's nice. day Hey you have a wonderful day We'll put you in the drawer You too Thank you See you mate
Starting point is 00:03:26 There you go That's nice We helped her in a way We did Yeah We donate as an entry Into the Taylor Swift I don't think we're meant to do that
Starting point is 00:03:33 As part of the Burn a Phone podcast Have you ever donated anything Of your body I'm donating my body To science when I go Yeah I did put Yeah I put I ticked the box
Starting point is 00:03:42 To say yes for that But then at the same time I was like I'm going to go whole body Take it all Take it all All or then at the same time, I was like... I'm going to go whole body. Take it all. Take it all. All or nothing, mate. All or nothing.
Starting point is 00:03:48 But I was like, well, I don't know how much of it they want. But anyway, I guess they can pick through it and decide. So you're a donor on your driver's license? Yeah. Organs and things. Yeah. Donated blood. I remember my friend's mum made us do that a couple of times.
Starting point is 00:04:02 She was like, got to get that. It was good that you went along and did that. So, yeah. What do you think is the nicest now? You don't have to play. my friend's mum made us do that a couple of times she was like gotta get that it was good went along and did that so yeah what do you think is the nicest now you don't have to I donated goods to the
Starting point is 00:04:09 goods and stuff my mum took the stuff to the church up the road I think I told you about this and she didn't consult with my sister
Starting point is 00:04:16 and I took a lot of some of our favourite toys and we went we've got to go back and get it from the church for you got to rip off the church
Starting point is 00:04:23 and we went back and we took oh you actually did go back we took back a couple of things we were like mum you know we were going to go back and get it from the church for you. Got to rip off the church. And we went back and we took. Oh, you actually did go back. We took back a couple of things. We were like, mum, you know, and we were going to say if anyone saw us and go, hey, this is our stuff that's just been left here. But we just took the stuff, left the rest of it,
Starting point is 00:04:34 and then took it back. Well, that's on Jenny. If God's going to judge anyone in that situation, lay the rest out on Jenny Boyce there. You were just some simple kids who ripped off a church after donating to it. Well, there aren't staff that mum had, yeah. So mum was like, oh, I thought you didn't need that anymore.
Starting point is 00:04:50 If I could put it in another context, you're walking past someone who is homeless and you say, here, have a pie, mate, for lunch. And they're like, thank you so much. And you walk down the road and you go, actually, I'm still a bit peckish. And you go back and you go, hey, on second thoughts. Nah. Just as they're about to take the first bite. Mum's giving me my pie and then me coming actually, I'm still a bit peckish. And you go back and you go, hey, on second thoughts. No.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Just as they're about to take the first bite. I'm giving them my pie and then me coming back and going, where's my pie? But you're right. Then I'd come back and snatch it out of their hands. I probably would have been. Nowadays, I'd go get another pie, you know, but yeah. I love nothing more than the feeling of just dumping stuff in that big old clothing bin at the supermarket.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Yeah, I do like that. It's a good feeling, isn't it? Yeah. And I find the curb outside the berm. Outside the house, not the curb. The berm outside do like that. It's a good feeling, isn't it? Yeah, and I find the curb outside the berm. It's not the house, it's not the curb. The berm outside the house is... It's a great way to donate stuff. People just...
Starting point is 00:05:29 I just don't know how... It's like you leave something there, you'll be like, oh, this is the bike the kids had, or this is the thing, this is a capsule or something like that, and bang, gone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:37 It's like crap. People must just circle around the neighbourhoods looking for stuff. Fair game, that berm. It does feel like it, eh? Put anything in on that berm. You chuck any appliance out on that boom. It'll go.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah, you've got to be careful when you're moving a house because if you're moving into a new house, you're like, oh, we'll just leave the washing machine here while we move something else. And boom, that thing will be gone by the time you're back outside. Happened to my friend. I've said it to him many times. Oh, the lawnmower.
Starting point is 00:05:58 The lawnmower. Yeah. He was mowing his lawn, and the lawnmower was running out of petrol. He left it on the boom to just run quickly to his shed, grabbed the petrol, came back out. Can't do it, mate. Laws on the berm means someone else is taking it. Someone was wheeling off with the lawnmower.
