Well, you're today, years old when you found out.
That's a saying that goes around a memes on the internet, right?
Yes.
And it happened to you last week.
Well, okay, let's preface this by saying this is to do with medical stuff.
So don't take anything that you hear on.
No, I'm just meaning don't take anything you hear on here as gospel
because we're not medical professionals and I'm relying on chat jubt.
Remember that time I started spouting off about Bitcoin and then I choked some lady on there
and everyone was like, that was completely the wrong information.
I never corrected that.
If there is a medical professional that's listening to this,
oh yeah, good.
Could you please call us, oh, 800 the hits and clarify what we're about to say?
Because producer, I actually don't know how we got on to it,
but I remember producer Troy came in and said, oh.
No, it's because I, so I was drinking one of our red bulls.
It was a grapefruit red bull.
And I was like, Yolo, I'm drinking grapefruit, even though.
It stops the pill from working.
I heard this rumor.
I'd never heard it until you said the other day.
Also, mountain juice.
Shricks appendages.
That was, which is not true.
So I always believed you couldn't have grapefruit of any kind while on the pill because it stopped it from working.
Yeah, I thought there was like Bible for all my life.
And producer truly made the comment like, you can get pregnant if someone eats grapefruit because, you know, it stops the pill.
We all believed it.
Yeah.
So I was like, I'm just going to chuck it into chat, TBT, and figure out what the deal is with this.
so you can have grapefruit.
It does not make the combined oral contraceptive pill
ineffective.
Jeez, this has been some brand damage for grapefruit over the years, decades.
I've avoided it for 15 years of my life.
I literally had it that one time.
Mind you, you're not, I mean, it looks so inviting and appetising,
but it really is, it's a disappointing.
Oh, any fruit you've got brown sugar all over to make it edible.
You don't put sugar on it.
That's what my grandparents used to every morning that breadfruit.
Just like a deal with it.
So what it does do, and it does with some other medications as well,
is for the pill it can increase the risk of side effects.
So your side effects might become worse.
And in some cases, the medication you're on,
it affects how your body disposes of it.
So it can hurt your liver a little bit.
But it doesn't stop the medication from working.
Crazy.
It is crazy.
But again, check with your medical professionals.
Through the 90s, what did we do without the internet?
Through the 90s, we were just spreading rumors.
You could say stuff, right, yeah.
Yeah.
There was no way to check it.
Really?
Okay.
Yeah, you're right.
Now you could just like...
But maybe back in the day, I seem to remember it saying avoid grapefruit on your little packet, but now it doesn't.
So did we do initial research and everyone's like, ah!
And now that's been proven wrong?
Okay, so what were you with today years old when you discovered something?
We're going to have grapefruit!
I'm so excited.
Yeah.
I only recently I discovered that, you know, like we can get fuel and stuff,
and which side the tank is, there's a little arrow.
Oh, and your fuel gauge.
Yeah, and your fuel gauge.
I only just recently discovered that.
Someone was like, I just look where their little arrow is pointing because I was driving
a car that wasn't my, and I was like, oh, makes sense.
Do you know, my friend was saying there about two or three weeks ago that if you're in
a car and you're sinking in a lake or in the ocean, taking a wrong turn, you just pull out
the headrest, smash the windows with the spikes from the headrest.
Just in case you ever find yourself in that really unique situation.
You're going to save my life.
Thank you.
When you think of that, when you're drowning, out in the Pacific,
like, geez, Google Maps did me dirty here.
We are today years old when you discovered, lots of texts coming through on this one.
Should I just read out from a doctor to clarify our grapefruit?
Yeah, that'd be great.
So we and me and Grace were today years old where we found out that grapefruit doesn't stop the pill from working.
What it does do is it interferes with an enzyme that metabolizes certain.
medication so it can build up and hurt your liver but it won't stop working.
Gotcha. So if you were to have it every now and there you're fine.
Brilliant news for the great grapefruit industry. They must be ecstatic.
But grapefruit, like we're back, we're back, we're back.
And then everyone will eat one and be like, ugh.
It's not a lot of remember again, I don't know.
We lost them again, guys.
So yeah, oh 800, that's telephone number.
4487 is the text, if that's your preferred method of communication.
Megan, happy new year.
Hi guys
Good to have you on
I mean it is August
but you know
I know
you're sticking with it
but Johnny today is old
we discovered it wasn't
the times
it's a happy new year
oh my god is it August
hey what's something
you just discovered
you know when you were in the car
in like the 90s
and they had the lights
and your parents said
you couldn't have the lights on
while they're driving
because it's illegal
or inside the car
yeah
you know the one
it's not it just distracts the driver
yeah it's annoying
when the kids
Is it not illegal?
It's not, no.
I still thought it was illegal.
It is not, no, because then why would they put them up by the drive on the kids' side?
Yeah.
The kids turned it on.
Because I always wondered why they would get so annoyed when you turn the lights on,
but the kids did it to me when it was dark recently.
It's because you can't see outside.
When the lights are on and it's dark outside, you can't see where you're going.
And you never felt your parents pain when you would wind the window down in the back seat.
Oh, yeah.
But now is it, is it driver?
You're like, yep, he was right.
It does.
I can see her.
Bala, blah, and blah, and willow!
Hey, good on you, Megan.
Appreciate that.
Great text here on 4487.
I was today, years old.
I was in fact, 22 years old when I discovered that the gang was called black power and not black power.
Oh, well, yeah, it's probably those things you hear from time and time.
You're like, I've never actually, yeah.
Yeah, true.
I mean, I'm a guess if you're not in the gang or affiliated or friends, you're probably not going to do.
Like power.
You're like, oh, that's an unusual name for a gang.
I guess they're supporting the seafood industry.
So that's really good.
Yeah.
4487.
I always...
Was that...
He started so well too.
You can read that one.
It's safe.
Oh yeah.
I always thought the dudes on the weather were saying rogue snowfall.
I only recently found out it is road snowfalls.
Oh, not like rogue.
They thought it was...
They like rogue beer because it sounds like a sneaky little bugger comes in and dumps the snow.
It's a rogue snowfall.
That's a better memory.
It's the one about the Paralympics.
Well, Jono and I were today years old.
Literally, we've discovered this from the text machine.
Kimberly said I recently learned that Paralympics stands for parallel Olympics because it runs alongside the Olympics.
I miss the memo on that one.
So did I.
This is one I'm just trying to work out if it's one of those ones that pranks you or not.
A text comes through from Lisa.
I heard recently your tongue rests on the top of your mouth.
Oh, Lisa's on.
Okay.
Don't you?
You can question Lisa in real time.
Oh, you know when someone's like, now you're doing it, you're idiot.
You're like, oh yeah, man.
Trying to like see where my tongue rests.
I can't stop thinking about it now.
Lisa, welcome.
Hi, guys.
Congratulations on making the entire country think about their tongues.
Yeah, where it's resting.
I'm like, where do you want to sit, buddy?
Are you pranking us?
So what, it rests at the top of your mouth?
Yeah, well, my kick in home from school and goes,
Mum, did you know that your tongue sits on the top of your mouth?
And, you know, it's just ever sat on the top of my mouth.
I thought it was always just chilling at the bottom, but maybe I haven't thought about it.
Well, maybe it goes to the bottom when you open your mouth.
But every other time it's...
It's just like up top, yeah, yeah.
I know, but is that because your mouth shut?
God, I can't something about my tongue.
No, I can't sort of think.
All I can think about is my tongue, Lisa.
I think when my mouth is shut, it does tend to be a little bit more on the top.
Yeah.
It's a sort of snug up there at the, yeah.
Okay.
Hey, good on your lease.
Where's your tongue at the moment?
Not on the top right now.
Not on the top right now.
Now it is because she's not talking.
She's talking to us.
Now it's top.
Now talking again in the middle.
It is the more and more you're thinking about your tongue,
the more you get inside your head about it.
Totally.
Someone said this is one.
I discovered recently as well.
The dials on the toaster with the levels of toastiness.
Not the levels of fact the amount of minutes are toasted.
So, yeah.
I only found that out recently too.
Uh-oh.
What?
Another one?
Scott's come back in with some feedback on the Paralympics.
He said that one's false.
Oh, okay.
If only there was one way we could figure out the actual answer.
I did do, I did Google it.
It does say it was parallel too.
Did they change it?
Who knows?
Well, it doesn't always run at the same time too, does it?
Sometimes it's directly after the Olympics.
