The Veronicas, they're Australian identical twins. You'll know them from hit songs like this. They've got a brand new album. It's their sixth studio album. It's called Gothic Summer. I've got all right. I'm Ben from New Zealand. First time I've met you. Where in the world are you? We actually just flew into Brisbane, where we're from. We fly to

Melbourne tonight. So, yeah, we flew in yesterday from the States, and it's so beautiful here. We're stoked to be here. And, of course, you guys got Perfect, the new song from the album, Gothic Summer. Now, I think one of the cool things about the song is i was reading you had travis barker who was just in the neighborhood

he just popped along to do dr i mean how does that work i mean how do you get someone who's with blink 182 one of the best drummers in the world obviously with you know kardashians yada yada yada but how do you get him to come along well our producer john feldman um is very good friends with travis and we've actually had the chance to work with him a couple times and so um john it was quite cute the way it happened because he was like oh we wrote the song we were really excited about it and he was like i'm just gonna have my friend come and put some drums down we're like cool cool and then next minute travis walks in and we're like oh what happens then like i guess you can't really say oh i wanted it a

little more like this when travis barker's playing drums it's it's kind of over to him right totally i mean he's the the room we definitely don't have drum notes for travis he kills it it's so amazing watching him work it's like he lays down like three or four tracks and then he goes in and like redoes bits and and that's like it he's he's such a gun he's such a professional and he just really loves what he does so every time he just sort of feels it and nails it and um yeah he brought such a great energy to the track that's very cool now now the album's gothic summer now i think i've seen what is the album which is the car when the

video too what why don't you had a huntsman spider crawling over their face. It was sort of celebrating our Australian roots. I mean, obviously Aussies are known for the big spiders, the snakes, our incredible wildlife over here. And so we were really just celebrating that on a world stage. And I was quite terrified of spiders before we shot this and we had a spider expert come to set and bring Hunter her name was it's a girl her name was Hunter and we sort of got to know each other on a photo shoot first and then when we shot the music video by then I'd fallen in love with her and I just let her crawl over my face and you know go wherever she wanted to go and now I really love them love them and I keep saying Elise and anybody else,

like anytime you have a huntsman in your house that you need removing, like happy to come along and do it. It's a bit of a side hustle for Jessie now. You really went from zero to 100, didn't you, on the not liking spiders to have one crawling, like a massive one crawling all over your face. You know, okay, but there is a very important fact that i was told before we shot this that did help and that's that huntsman spiders don't typically bite humans so although

they're like really fast and they hunt their prey down at like insane speeds uh they aren't prone to biting humans unless in like a hugely threatening situation so now you guys are famously twins of course there you get sick of us answering all the twin questions you know or is that just something that comes with the territory because i mean i work with jono and we get i get confused with jono all the time and he's bald and i've got hair you know we don't look at anything alike no one knows who's who but i just answer for jono it's easier when out and about someone's like hey jono you're like hey yeah but do you guys get sick of that or you just kind of roll with it no I think it's fine yeah we it doesn't really bother us too much I mean honestly we've kind of used the twin thing to our advantage at times so

we feel like well because someone asked you once how did you meet yeah we say in the womb and they're like oh do you guys have that twin thing when you kind of answer the same? Probably.
