Starting point is 00:00:00 The Wiggles, back in the country, you can catch them on TV and Z Plus as well, their brand new series as well. They're about to head all over the place in their big red car and in the studio right now we've got Simon and Lockie, who you'll know from The Wiggles, but also two of the new members, Lucia and Katarina as well. Great to have you here, good morning. Hello, great to be here. It's so good to have you guys here. I think we've spoken to a couple of you guys over Zoom before, now you get to see you like you're actually a bit taller than on a computer screen. It's great.
Starting point is 00:00:27 We're all real people. And you're wearing trousers as well. To be clear, they always had trousers on last time. Oh, they did. It's just us that didn't have the trousers. Now, guys, just before we get into it, we are doing the best song ever. And this round is the Foo Fighters' Learn to Fly taking on Queen Under Pressure. So can we get an official vote from the Wiggles?
Starting point is 00:00:47 They can be separated votes. It doesn't have to be a unified representing the Wiggles vote. Okay. I'm feeling a little pressured, so I'll go under pressure. Under pressure. I'm with Simon. Under pressure. Under pressure.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Under pressure. Under pressure. It's four wiggly votes for the Wiggles right now. Now the Wiggles, the cast has expanded. It's kind of like the Matildas squad for the football, right? Don't mention the Matildas. Okay, sorry, I wouldn't bring it up. Hey, you did better than New Zealand.
Starting point is 00:01:14 We did great too, but you guys did awesome. Everyone's a winner. Yeah, everyone's a winner. That's what we like. Football's the winner at the end of the day though. Has it been epic over there? Huge. We almost got a public holiday if Matildas had won.
Starting point is 00:01:25 I know. Put a lot of pressure on the Matildas, though. Because Australians love a public holiday. But you guys now, the Wiggles, what, eight members now? Is that correct? So we've seen various Wiggles throughout the building. Today, John's been taking his shirt off at another radio station. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:01:42 And he's probably doing that again right now. Simon Lockie, do you want to? No, maybe a few years ago. No one ever asked us. They go, shit, it's off either two guys, so that's fine. We can do a pose after the interview, Simon, you and me. Katarina, you know, new to the Wiggles in some ways, but you've been there for 20 years.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Yeah, 20 years. I started when I was three. No, actually, I started when I was 23. So, yeah, it's been great. But being a Wiggle for the past two years has been wonderful. What have you been doing for 20 years? You've been auditioning. They're like, not just you.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Time is very right. Various jobs through the Wiggles. I don't know if she can talk about. Yeah, no, I was a good friend of Dorothy the Dinosaur for a few years. And then I became dance captain, choreographer, and now I'm a Wiggle. And you were Anthony's neighbour before that. Was that correct? No, not that I'm a Wiggle. And you were Anthony's neighbour before that. Was that correct? No, not that I'm a Wiggle.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I'm sure I read that. Under pressure. All right, I'm going to leave now, guys. Me and John are going to take our shirts off somewhere. And you are Anthony's daughter as well. I've got that correct? Yes. Good, okay.
Starting point is 00:02:42 What's it like sort of taking on the family you know tradition i guess in a lot of ways oh it's pretty quite natural actually i never thought i'd be doing it um i was a i've been a dancer all my life a ballet dancer more specifically can anything prepare you for the wild world of the wiggles like the fans the the madness not really i mean it's all chaos but it's so much fun i guess uh the joy of music and and dance and seeing those kids just prepares you in general to be honest with you but every show is different you can't be prepared for those i will tell you that and that's because of your dad he forgets the set list wild card he will choose any song he wants and you're on stage
Starting point is 00:03:22 you gotta do it we talked about this and we're not doing this song. I love it when you hear that. Start bickering on a stack. What I have noticed too about this, I've never noticed about the Wiggles, some badass belt buckles. Have you seen the belt buckles? You had to check those in coming through the flight.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Yeah, you didn't see them on Zoom, did you? No. I'll tell you what, they are bringing the noise. They're like those Jack Daniels ones that Bogans wear to the bathhouse, but they've got the wiggles on. That's right. Actually, the last time we had you on Zoom, Simon, we asked you how deep you could go with your voice,
Starting point is 00:03:55 and it was so deep that we couldn't hear it. It freaked out Zoom. It wouldn't work. It glitched. So can we hear you again? Is it possible to see how deep you go? I cut out that time. Just when you think it can't go lower, it does.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Pretty impressive. Now, something, Lockie, you share a similar thing with Jono. At work, on trips, wherever it is, he falls asleep all the time. Now, I think sometimes you're putting it on on stage, but Jono, within an instant, I'll be talking to him, and then suddenly, oh, he's fast asleep. Yeah, he started an Instagram account, Sleepy Jono, which is just shots of me sleeping in cars, planes, buses, offices. So I'm not very good at lyrics,
Starting point is 00:04:44 but I have rewritten the chorus to your song. Wake Up Jeff, which is Wake Up Lockie now. And I was wondering if you could, is it possible? I mean, you can have a couple of run-throughs, but you can sing the chorus to Wake Up Johnny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lockie's like, we don't need a run-through, mate. We sing this five times a day.
Starting point is 00:05:01 To be honest, I don't know if the lyrics scan with the... Anyway, it's all on me if it doesn't work, guys. Under pressure. Have you got the music? Wake up, Jono. Everybody's working. Wake up, Jono.
Starting point is 00:05:13 He's asleep again. Wake up, Jono. He is very tired. The boss wants a word. Jono, you're fired. Wow. Well, the happiest firing, I think, for me.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I just want to say thank you for firing me. It sounded a lot better coming from them than from our bosses. It was so nice to see you. Do we talk about redundancy now? Let's talk about that. You've got to see Captain Feathersword for that, apparently. He deals with all that.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Thank you so much for coming and lovely to meet you all and good luck. Thank you. Great to see you. Thanks for having us.
