Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the untamed realm of the World Wide Web. A swirling vortex of weirdness, bullying and self-obsessed social media posts. In this digital jungle, Jono and Vienna are your fearless guides. Leading you through the wildest parts of the Wild Wild Web. This is the Wild Wild Web. That's another episode of the Wild Wild Web That's another episode of the Wild Wild Web As I say every time I really enjoy doing this
Starting point is 00:00:29 Because you never know where we're going to end up We start with an actual story A wild story that we've found on the internet And then the conversation usually takes a turn Well we're going to bounce off a topical one at the moment There's a lot of conspiracy theories going around Kate Middleton's whereabouts Princess Kate's whereabouts
Starting point is 00:00:44 I feel like you're very invested in this Megan I'm so invested theories go around Kate Middleton's whereabouts Princess Kate's whereabouts why I feel like you're very invested in this Megan I'm so invested just because it's so weird and you've got like royalists and
Starting point is 00:00:52 everyone saying how weird it is when they're agreeing with the rumours that it's very bizarre and like what's happening
Starting point is 00:00:59 so she's been cited now she's been out and about with William looked like she was having a happy time. Looks can be deceiving.
Starting point is 00:01:07 Oh, yeah, you're really good. Photo, video. There's videos. I think there's video. Yeah, there's video. And she's been to an event. The thing is, she wasn't supposed to go to any event. She wasn't supposed to do any public outings till after Easter.
Starting point is 00:01:18 So they've hawked her out early. Wheeled her out. Okay, so if we're just covering off some of the big bangers, Brazilian butt lift surgery that went belly up. Yeah, because there's, okay, so if we're just covering off some of the big bangers, Brazilian butt lift surgery that went belly up. Yeah, which can happen I imagine, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:29 There's also rumours that she... Masked singer. Masked singer. She was Banksy. I kind of hoped it was the masked singer. That would be so great.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Yeah. Great reveal, right? What else was there? She was in a coma. Yeah. The colostomy bag one that she's wandering around with a colostomy bag.
Starting point is 00:01:45 It kind of feels like, interesting though,, though, because the internet kind of – I hope there's nothing horrible going on, but the internet has kind of made memes and jokes like that. Kim Kardashian kind of joined in on it the other day, and she said, off to find Kate. That's what she said with some photos of the carousel. And everyone jumped on, going, oh, bad taste. But, you know, she's like,
Starting point is 00:02:05 I'm just trying to jump on the meme circuit. Just trying to have a laugh. Yeah. You guys are all having a laugh. No, but all the internet just turns on her.
Starting point is 00:02:12 I know. I feel good, Ash. It feels like everyone just turns. Also, the latest is Uncle Gary, Kate's uncle, was asked about her whereabouts and stuff
Starting point is 00:02:21 and he said, why would I comment? The last thing I'm going to do is comment about it. If she speaks about it publicly, then I'll give my opinion. And everyone's like, why do you need an opinion on abdominal surgery? Isn't it pretty straightforward? Well, because he wants to see what the results of the Brazilian butt lift are like.
Starting point is 00:02:37 And he's like, oh, yeah, that's not bad. Good lifting. Everyone's hanging off every word. I know. The way you're like, oh, he said opinion. Yeah. I hope she's okay. I hope she's okay. I hope she's okay.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Well, she's obviously okay because she's been seen in public now. Yeah, true. I mean, physically okay. But something's going on, obviously. I'm going to call it, you're in too deep, Megan. You're in way too deep, bruh.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Nah. All the royalists are saying something weird's going on, something weird's going on. There's always conspiracies jumping around the internet, though, aren't they? Yeah. This is how people ended up making tinfoil hats
Starting point is 00:03:10 and sitting outside Parliament for a couple of weeks. This is how it gets started. Not that far down. Really? Yeah. But yeah, I was just looking here, some of the best conspiracy theories of all time, the moon landing obviously, that was number one.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Oh, people think that's a conspiracy, don't they? Some people obviously don't think it is. But Oscar, my son, came back from school. He's like, we had a very in-depth discussion today about the moon landing. His teacher is a little dubious. Because he's like, why would you not go back? Why have we not been back? Why has no one been back?
Starting point is 00:03:43 I think USA landed something there, returned to the moon three weeks ago, but not people. Not people. But they do, yeah, but they put something up there, yeah. Like, if you could do it then. It's a long time, yeah. In the 60s? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Was it 69? Why has no one been back? It's a very good point. With all the, I mean, it's going to cost billions of dollars, obviously, but then there are people spending billions of dollars on things like this, so, yeah. But even, because I know it's a bit of It was a flex Wasn't it back in the day
Starting point is 00:04:07 To be the first country to get there It was Russia and America Wasn't it really You know going for it But even Russia would want to go back And go look we did it too China Why not
Starting point is 00:04:16 Why It is an interesting question How many people Yeah There's the conspiracy theories That the earth is flat Yeah there's some people That I think they're starting to fade off There's a conspiracy theories that The earth is flat Yeah there's some people that I think they're starting to fade off
Starting point is 00:04:28 There's a very famous NBA player Kyrie Irving He was a flat earther but I think he's been turned I think he's changed On second thoughts No it looks pretty round I'd love to be the person that turned someone You know you have a conversation They're like oh actually you're right
Starting point is 00:04:43 You'd be like yes There's some pretty hard evidence to do the turning as well. It wouldn't take too long to turn. COVID was manufactured by the media. Is that another? That's another one, because I've heard the one that was manufactured in a lab in China. Yeah. As Donald Trump would say.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Yeah, there's a lot of rumours circulating around that one. They wanted it for population control, didn't they? Kill off the top end. That was the theory. There was the theory behind it. Kill off the elderly because, you know, obviously billions in China. If they could control that a bit, and it obviously just got a little bit out of hand.
Starting point is 00:05:15 There was a new worry yesterday. I was actually reading in Chicago on St. Patrick's Day, they dye the river green. They've got some way of dyeing the town's river bright green for St. Patrick's Day, and dye the river green. They've got some way of dyeing the town's river like bright green for St. Patrick's Day and a drunken guy swimming across the river and they're like, uh-oh, he's going to be in the new patient zero, I think,
Starting point is 00:05:33 swimming across that river. Oh, that's what they were pouring into it? Well, I think we just scored what's in the river normally. I don't think it's a swimming river. People were pretty worried. Uh-oh. It's fun and jovial When they die at green But it's actually
Starting point is 00:05:46 Not very good for you To be in there Barely yeah Yeah I don't know how They get away with Dying at green I know it seems
Starting point is 00:05:50 Like an environmental But apparently it's fine For the I don't know Maybe they die at green To hide what's actually In there Yeah To distract
Starting point is 00:05:56 Yeah This is a great one about Have you heard the Walt Disney one That he's cryogenically frozen Oh yeah And then they made The movie Frozen
Starting point is 00:06:04 That when you Google search Walt Disney Frozen, the first thing that comes up is the movie, not the fact that he's cryogenically frozen. Oh, is that not a fact? Is he not actually frozen? Is that a conspiracy theory? I think it is a conspiracy theory, yeah. Oh, I thought that was just legit.
Starting point is 00:06:20 It says, people have long discussed the conspiracy that Walt Disney used cryogenics to freeze himself when he died even though the Disney family refutes the claims. Oh. I didn't know that wasn't real. No. So as a smokescreen, they made a movie called Frozen so that whenever you put in Disney Frozen, you're not going to get Walt Disney cryogenically frozen.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Elsa and Anna. Controversial opinion. That movie sucks. Oh, wow. Really?
Starting point is 00:06:42 It's boring. You just heard Ben's heartbreak in real life. Oh! Just on multiple levels there. Bang, bang. Couple of kicks to the guts. Unpopular opinion.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I've tried to watch it. Even my son's like, nah. My girls were at the sweet spot of that movie when that came out the first time. It's boring. I guess it's the time and place, isn't it? There's a whole lot of searching in the woods and stuff, and you're like, I am bored. Oh, well, well. You said it was unpopular opinion.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Yeah, that's definitely an unpopular opinion with me. I love Frozen. You had a Frozen backpack. Yeah, I do. Yeah, I've got a Frozen. I've got an Olaf costume. Mate, I've got, you know. Give me Turning Red
Starting point is 00:07:25 that's a great movie coming of age funny give me Luca that's the good is the Turning Red one about the panda the panda
Starting point is 00:07:32 and is it a metaphor for getting a I believe so yeah getting a what sorry did I take the wrong message out of it
Starting point is 00:07:40 I don't know yeah no I think so because her emotions were changing yeah right I thought it was like but emotions were changing. Yeah, right. I thought it was like a... But she turns into an actual panda, right?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yeah. Do some people call it the red panda? Yeah, that's what I thought the whole thing was about. Yeah, yeah, right. And it would have been a good theme for young children to watch. Yeah, it's a great movie. Yeah. Okay, let's go.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Favourite children's movie of all time? Oh. Favourite children's movie of all time Favourite children's movie It used to be The Little Mermaid But we cancelled that So I feel like I can't say it anymore We cancelled? Yeah because it's like teaching young girls They have to be quiet and lose their voice
Starting point is 00:08:15 To attract a man It's not a good message is it? There's a few complicated storylines In some of those classics As they say Why did she have to lose her voice? Well she did And she wanted to Because she had to
Starting point is 00:08:25 She traded in her voice For the legs With Ursula the sea witch Yeah To become a human And win her prince Yeah right But he fell in love with her
Starting point is 00:08:32 And she couldn't talk That's on Ursula That's not on No but he fell in love with her But she couldn't talk So it was like Oh if you shush The boys will love you
Starting point is 00:08:39 I don't know It's just very complicated It would make life a lot easier They are right If they just shut the hell up. Yeah, okay. It's a little mermaid for you. I'm going to go two
Starting point is 00:08:49 that I watch every year around traditional Christmas. Home Alone and Elf. Oh, Elf. Going into Christmas, they're family movies. I wouldn't call them kids movies, but both I enjoy watching every year.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Elf is good. Elf has got a really interesting backstory. Yeah. That it was, the film company saw it as an absolute flop they didn't even release it did they for ages i think so it just it became its own thing i think when it got released as maybe it was dvd or whatever it was it just became its own thing they were all worried about it didn't test well
Starting point is 00:09:20 i think they thought it was going to be a bit more of a serious thing it was meant to be like an earnest like christmas and then it became quite surreal because obviously it's got all those sort Well, I think they thought it was going to be a bit more of a serious thing. It was meant to be like an earnest Christmas. And then it became quite surreal because obviously it's got all those sort of surreal things with the narwhal and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, right. You know, it's very funny. Yeah. I love it.
Starting point is 00:09:34 But yeah, they weren't even going to release it. It's like a cult classic now. Yeah, it's a beauty. What's your favorite? It's a good question. Is it like a Disney one? Aladdin is a good one. That's also not...
Starting point is 00:09:47 You know when you watch Aladdin these days, it has a warning at the start that says some of these things are... Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. That's also cancelable. Oh, do they? Because, yeah, there are moments in it where it, like, stereotypes and, like, takes the mickey out of, like, some races,
Starting point is 00:10:01 and you're like, that's not okay. That little bit there's not okay. Oh, well, good. At least they're putting in a warning in there yeah yeah cover their bases i tell you what i loved it wasn't a movie as such but i did really enjoy a kid show called adventure time oh yeah oh yeah was that the one with zippy and no that was rainbow that would have been in the prime buddy buddy, BBC Troublesome Years. Rainbow. Yeah, I haven't heard anything bad about that. No, they could have gone out squat free, but I imagine they were doing all sorts on Rainbow.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Yeah, Papatio played Zippy was definitely drunk. Yeah. Definitely. And there was, what's something happening about Rainbow? Let me have a Google. So we've got people waiting for a meeting. Wait, what was your time? Adventure time.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Adventure time, yeah. It was on Nickelodeon. Very funny. It was rare. It was good. I liked it. What was it called? Oh, the weird dog thing and the dude with the cat head.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Adventure Time. Yes. It's a weird show. It is an odd show. Yeah, it's high concept. Rainbow, BBC, Rainbow. Oh, that's right. What happened?
Starting point is 00:11:04 Yeah, there was a Was Zippy drunk? Lots of lewd Lots of lewd stuff Going on on the set of Rainbow But all consensual stuff Oh like we're at the making of it And it's not on screen
Starting point is 00:11:14 Not on screen Isn't there a few episodes That are a little bit like Dodgy I'm not going to have to YouTube this Yeah There was a guy who was operating Who took the job of operating
Starting point is 00:11:24 Zippy the puppet. And he was drunk. Well, Zippy definitely wouldn't be telling anyone if he kept his mouth shut, didn't he? Yeah. They'd play saucy
Starting point is 00:11:34 on-set pranks with each other. Oh, didn't they? And they used to cheekily arrange the puppets into sex positions. Sex positions. Oh, so, okay.
Starting point is 00:11:43 So not like really. There's a half an hour YouTube video of dodgy rainbow episodes. That's where I've seen it. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, and apparently
Starting point is 00:11:51 one time they had arranged Zippy mounting George going at it. It says, quote here, hammer and tongs and the archbishop turned up who was there
Starting point is 00:12:01 at the BBC for an interview. Oh no, the actual archbishop. I thought you meant like a puppet. No. So there we go. That's what was going on on the set of Rainbow. That was a fun show too. It was a great show. Anyway, that is
Starting point is 00:12:14 the Wild Wild Web. Have a wonderful day.
