Starting point is 00:00:00 Give a little time for the child within you. Don't be afraid to be young and free. Undo the locks and throw away the keys and take off your shoes and sucks and run you. It's Jordan Jesse Go. I am Jesse Thorne, America's Radio Sweetheart. Rour, I'm the gift bear. I've come bearing gifts. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Sorry. I haven't met the gift bear before. Oh, it's the hot new character on Jordan Jesse Go. He comes bearing gifts and he says, roow. Okay. You know, like a bear. Bear noise. I'm going to change it from Raur to bear noise.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Bear noise? Bar noise. I've done baring gifts. No, I like RAR. Jesse, I think I probably... I think by the way, there's an app for this guy. Yeah? Yeah, I think there's an app for this guy.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Okay. There's an app for everything these days. That's a good point. Even my toothbrush. Can I just say there's an app for everybody and it's jalapeno poppers? Everybody loves them. They are. Get one for the table.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Everybody's heaven. fun. I think I missed your birthday this year. Okay. But I think I'm going to make up for it and then some. I have a gift for you and not to pat myself on my bare little bear back too much. Yeah. But I think this is going to be a hit. Really? Yeah. You're kind of building it up here, George. Yeah, I know. And am I setting myself up for an epic fall? Perhaps. Perhaps I'm flying too close to the sun on gift wings made of wax. My presumption. Yeah. I mean, I can't, I can see only about what size it is.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Right, yeah. It's in a tote bag. I can't quite see what's on the tote bag. The tote bag is the free tote bag you get when you attend Cape and Cowell Khan. Okay. Well, this was a thoughtful choice and not just something that was in the car, by the way. Okay. I'm going to guess. This is part of the gift and why it's so good. Like a sophisticated, connoisseurs, European-type porn. Mag. Wonderful guess.
Starting point is 00:02:02 This is not the latest issue of what's all this then? No, it's like a Swedish. It's like, oh, or French. Maybe it's French. There was this guy who was on Put This On one time when we were making a video show. And he was making these special kind of neckties and stuff. And he was Milanese, this Italian guy. And the main things I remember about him are that he had his own sophisticated pornography magazine.
Starting point is 00:02:28 which I believe later a friend Scott Simpson told me he had subscribed to based on my recommendation by having had this guy. I did not look at this magazine. And he said it was very sophisticated. Okay. But also he did the interview in English, but his English was not super strong. And he talked the whole time about how he loved to make a chesori.
Starting point is 00:02:51 What does that mean? A chesori? Like neckties, scarves, bracelets. Yeah, a chesory. Sure. Wonderful. Do you remember the name of the porno mag? No.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Okay. Tre bien. Perhaps. It's probably Trebien. Trebien. Okay. Here it is. I'll hand it to you.
Starting point is 00:03:09 I'll let you unwrap it from the tote bag that I thoughtfully got for this purpose and didn't just get for free. They didn't just hand you this at the door. They didn't just hand me this at the con and it was in my car. You know, my daughter came and visited you at this con. She was very glad to see it. It was very good to see Scarlet and Teresa. It was a lot of fun. I could tell that Scarlett was happy to see me, but there for something else.
Starting point is 00:03:33 She waited a long time. And a specific thing she wanted to see. And I was fine that it wasn't me. It was nice to see her. But I could see the focus. There was a guy there who had written a superhero comic with which she was familiar. Okay. So that was her top.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I also sent her to get an autograph on my copy of Dragon Hoops by Gene Luenians. Yang. Wonderful memoir. Fucking great book. Great book. Okay. Okay. I'm going to open this up. Okay. I'm opening the packages. Yes. Jesse, I hate you.
Starting point is 00:04:10 X O. Kirk. This is an autographed picture of the guy from Star Trek 4 who plays the punk rock song on the munibus until Inspector Spock gives him the Vulcan death pinch and kills him right there on the bus. I was at Dragon Con in Atlanta. The table very next to me was Kirk Thatcher, the guy who played the punk guy on the bus, who gets knocked out by Spock in Star Trek 4, the only movie we ever talk about on this show. And not only did this guy play this punk rock guy. He also was just a guy who was working on the movie. Right. It's not like he went in for a casting call for punk rock type guy. They were just like, eh, you're a fucking punk rock guy.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Come on over here. You can be in the movie. And he also was a muppeteer or something. So I spent a lot of time with Kirk Thatcher. He's a lovely guy. Here's just some shit this guy has done in his life. One, played the punk guy and also wrote the song that was coming out of the boom box. And recorded it, right?
Starting point is 00:05:18 And recorded it. They were like, do you know any good punk rock songs? And he's like, I got one. I'll write one. Yeah. He is the voice of the Greta, the femme gremlin and gremlins two. Wow. Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Incredible. Yes. And also created the TV show dinosaurs. What a life! This guy is astonishing. Yeah, he's like a nerd stuff Forrest Gump who has just touched everything. He was lovely. And when I told him that I had a friend who loved Star Trek 4 more than anything,
Starting point is 00:05:49 he handed me that 8 by 10 of him getting Vulcan death gripped by Spock. I mean, it really is. first of all, it's the funniest Star Trek movie. Second of all, the San Francisco is Star Trek movie. Third, the bathrobist Star Trek movie. Fourth, it's the Spock murderingist. It's the only one where Spock murders a man on public transportation. I guess I didn't ask him, do you think your character was killed?
Starting point is 00:06:16 I'm pretty sure he got murdered. I've seen it. I mean, it's called the Vulcan Death Grip. They don't call it the Vulcan Night Night Grip, you know what I'm saying? Inconvenience Grip. No. And then on. the bus, I'm also noticing
Starting point is 00:06:29 they shot this on a real Muni bus and they did not replace the ads on the Muni bus. These are 100% ads that would be there in 1987 or whatever. I remember vividly from Muni Buses. What are we got? Healed Institute for Technology. Okay. And then this one is just like all the rules
Starting point is 00:06:47 of the bus, but it is definitely the real Muni rules. It is definitely not like something they made for the movie. Because I remember the form of it. Isn't it how funny what you remember from when you were seven years old? It's the mind. The mind she is putty at that time. And he's written, Kirk has written,
Starting point is 00:07:06 Ouch. Outch. Out coming out of his mouth. So there you go. Happy belated birthday. Thank you so much. You're welcome. What a thoughtful gift. No problem. I got you something too, Jordan.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Oh my gosh. Is it one of the best Jordan Jesse Go guests of all time here to be on our show? Is that where you were going? Well, Jordan. No. I was going towards this. Okay. Is it the host of the Kings of Drag?
Starting point is 00:07:29 Yes. And the stand-up comic behind the internet television special nine months, Cameron Esposito. Hi. Hi, fellows. Can I, you got to hand me that. Yeah. I got to see this. I got to see this.
Starting point is 00:07:44 They're just walking around. Oh, my God. Spock is just walking around everywhere in this movie in this fucking bathroom. Cameron, I'm sorry I didn't get you anything, but I didn't know who your favorite minor character from Star Trek is. You know what's, here's what's, that's not my normal. nerddom. That's okay. So I, this, Cameron, it's not my nerddom.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Yeah, honestly not really are. It's just the one movie. I don't know why I haven't even seen this. That's like, that doesn't make sense. If you know me, it's weird that I haven't. This feels like how could this not have come across my desk? Number one, it's genuinely funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Number two. In fact, I would argue that they're all better at being funny than they are at acting. Number two, it is set in San Francisco and they save whales. Number three, Spock wears this bathroom almost the entire time. Remember how in our childhood they were really trying to get us to save those whales? Well, in this particular film, do the whales have like superintelligence or is it just regular whales? They're regular whales, but they have to bring them onto the spaceship using the teleporter. And they, Scotty has to invent transparent aluminum.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Okay. Because the glass manufactured, the glazers of Earth cannot make strong enough material to hold the amount of water that would be required to keep the whales on the starship. Do you see them in the tanks on the ship? Like, do you see this? Or is this spoken about or is this visually represented? I think it is visually represented when you see them get transported, right? Yeah. And all of this is because there is an alien race that speaks whale or of language.
Starting point is 00:09:25 It's very close to whale, and they need the whales to tell the aliens not to destroy humanity. Yeah. So, honestly, I've never seen this film, but in my childhood in Chicago, they built the oceanarium, which I don't think they've done that since then. Like, I think that was kind of the last hurrah for this type of a thing. What it is is, on the shores of Lake Michigan, they built next to the aquarium a new aquarium for whales. And we should explain to people who aren't from Chicago. Lake Michigan is a very large lake that people who are from Chicago insist is equivalent to an ocean. Well, I will say this.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I don't think it has the same kind of water as an ocean. And I do think if you put whales, I mean, they're right on it. You know, I do think that if you put whales in their tank right on water that they can neither access because of glass nor survive in. It's sort of more of a taunt than anything else. There's something really special about that setup for those poor whales. When you said it was an oceanitarium. Oceanarium. Oceanarium.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Oceanarium. I immediately imagined fucking Pink Floyd and Laser Light shows, but underwater instead of in the sky. I do feel like all of the museums in Chicago are open to doing a trippy thing every now and then to really get you going. Do they still do it, the planetarium? They still are planetariums. Yeah, like up at, I mean, Griffith Observatory might be the local one. There's one at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Do they still do a thing where you get high and they play like dark side of the moon and they play a laser show?
Starting point is 00:11:08 That's what I'm saying. I think that does happen. I mean, when I was also, so then next to that, because there's like a museum campus on this lake that you're describing. And one of them is also the field museum, which is the natural history museum. and when you were kids, when I was a kid, your school could enter a lottery to be the class that slept over at the field museum. And my class was one of those classes. We had to sleep there overnight. And the field museum is about as cool a museum of its type as could exist.
Starting point is 00:11:38 It's incredible. There's no second city bologna around the field museum. Lake Michigan, yes. No. No, at the time we have. The field museum is 10 out of 10. Got a pretty complete T-Rex in there, right? I was to say, yeah, we got Sue.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Sue. So that was a big deal. And then also you got little kid hijinks. Highjinks. You know, I think we spent a lot of time actually in the ancient Egypt section because there was an actual water feature. Wait, did your class win the sleep? Yeah, we went.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Did everything come to life at night? That's such a great question. Thank you. I would know because I think don't you have to, just magically, don't you have to go to sleep for the creatures still in the life? I'm like if the tree falls. And I feel like nobody leveled with us as nine-year-olds and said, listen, the reason this isn't happening is because you guys ate all those pixie sticks. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:29 But if you just laid off for two seconds. Right. I never did anything like this, but I did live at the Metropolitan Museum for a little while. I would take the change out of the wishing wells. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What would you do with the change if you were living? Oh, I would use it during the day in order to buy food at the calf. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:50 In our pre-show chitter-chatter, we don't just start talking to the guest. I feel like this has to go some worse. You just throw it across the room. I'll just throw it here. We usually try and ice the guest out a little bit. Yeah. In our pre-show, chitter-chat. Because, you know, we're chitting and chatting.
Starting point is 00:13:06 We're happy to see our friend Cameron Esposito. Of course. Been far too long. This is our friend. She's got a human child at her house. She's a host of a new television program. She's got a special out. I was at the taping of the specials.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yes. So that was cool. Yeah, cool. That was cool. Thank you for being at the taping. Yeah, it's fucking cool to have a celebrity in the audience that you're special. Yeah. Talking about my daughter, Grace.
Starting point is 00:13:28 That's the celebrity I'm talking about. And our pre-show chit-chat, I asked you how long between you hosting this season of King of Drag. Yes. And it premiering, what's that time like? And you said, I think there's a story here. We're going to save it for the air. So here's me asking you. I just think there's something that you guys would like.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Okay. Is it about Star Trek 4? And it's a signed picture of Jordan getting this signed picture. She's like, well, during that time... There was a photographer there getting me... Yeah. During that time, I happened upon a Macintosh S.E.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I picked up that mouse and said, hello, computer. That's something that happens. That happens in Star Trek 4. I can't wait to... Scotty is mad that you can't talk to the computer. He doesn't understand why you can't. talk to the computer.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Wow, he would love today. Wouldn't you say? I think you would be so happy with the state of the world. In every way. So we shot it in April. It's now September, and it is going to air. It's going to debut. It's going to premiere in September.
Starting point is 00:14:35 So there's like that gap. And one thing that maybe I just like don't watch enough reality competition shows, because I didn't know this, and maybe you both do. You're a very learned men. Maybe you do. I didn't know that. They shoot two endings. Did you know this?
Starting point is 00:14:52 Oh, so many, many shows. So the winner can't get out there. So somebody doesn't leak the winner. Because it's like a closed set, right? But there's also people working on the set. Sure. And so. And these people can't be trusted.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Yeah. I mean, certainly I can't. I would be blabbing it right now. Sure. So they shoot it with both people winning. And both people have to like. Summon the emotion of winning. Yeah, because one of them has one.
Starting point is 00:15:17 You know, so it's, It's not, it isn't fake. One of them has one. Yeah. And at the same time, they will find out, they will find out with everyone else. The winner will find out with everyone else. How do they get a reaction from the winner and loser if they're shooting them both? I think it's because it's so, what I found about working with these kings, and again, I can't, I don't know what it's like, I'm like survivor.
Starting point is 00:15:44 So this show is, you know, if people have seen drag. drag race, similar, but with Kings. But with drag kings, yeah. It's the first. So, like, we're Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley. Sure. Bernie Matt. Actually, the original Kings are. I don't want to spoil it, but if you like Steve Harvey, turn in.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Turn in? Yeah. Go to bed. No. And also, tune in. Turn in. Turn out. Dream of Stevie. One purple suit? Two purple suits. Yeah, it's with Kings,
Starting point is 00:16:12 and it's the first drag king reality competition show. Hold on. Can I offer an alternative there? Two buttons, three buttons, four buttons. The amount of buttons on the suit. Five buttons, yeah. Okay, yeah, no, I got it.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Because he goes, sometimes he's got a whole row of buttons there. One brooch that takes up the entire jacket. A-choo! I don't know why I'm doing the guy who works everywhere on the Flintstone's voice. This is how I talk when I want to go to sleep. You are doing that voice. I work everywhere in Flintstoneland. Where did they live?
Starting point is 00:16:47 Anyway. Bedrock. Bedrock. Thank you. His boy, Elroy. Yes. Classically. Hope that helps.
Starting point is 00:16:56 They met, right? Yeah, they met. In the Jetsons meet the Flintstones. Yeah, okay. I couldn't remember if that was... The greatest crossover of all time. They got involved in a situation ship. Did they?
Starting point is 00:17:06 Yeah, polyamorous. Yes. A polycule. They created an interdimensional polycule. Right. And by the way, Rosie O'Donnell. Am I right? She was in the live action movie.
Starting point is 00:17:17 There's no question. speaking of the Flintstones and people to emulate just not just with your stand-up comedy but with your kush balls yeah with your kush balls yeah with your kush balls people to emulate with your kush-balls to this day our friends i just want to say if you're out there and you are whether or not you are already a listener to our our sister program stop podcasting yourself the wonderful canadian program hosted by our friends dave shumpkin graham kramk and graham clark they did they're the kings of boco yeah bono If you're a member of Max Fun, you can go listen to the Stop Podcast and yourself bonus content that is exclusively them finding every episode of the Rosie O'Donnell Show that's on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Oh, excellent. And in the theme song of the Rosie O'Donnell Show, every day there would be a different rhyming couplet about the guests that were on the show that week. Oh, wow. And they did an entire show where it was just them figuring out who the guests were and then trying to guess what the rhyme would be and then playing it. back. It was the greatest thing in history. Anyway, about Rosie O'Donnell. Classy lady
Starting point is 00:18:22 lives in Ireland, non-barrent binary child. Hosted Jimmy Kimmel recently. May we all. May we all, Rosie, may we all. But yeah, drag kings. Drag kings are great. They were, they're, you know, it's a super talented, devoted
Starting point is 00:18:37 group of people spend so much time on this art form. Honestly, it's like a snake eating its own tail, though. Because since this show hasn't existed yet, these are folks who haven't spent a lot of time on television. It's really like a live performance game. Right. And so the passion between these dudes who are like so committed, you know, because when you're
Starting point is 00:18:57 not, I mean, as somebody who started out as a dirtbag comic, when you're really just doing the live performance game, it matters so much, right? The people that you work with who are also doing the thing you're doing, they understand the sacrifices you're making. And so this is to go back to your question about how they can bring the emotion up because the emotion was there for these kings like the whole time. I mean, they're all pretty, you'll see it in the show, but like, they're all pretty raw, but it's real. That is not edited or drummed up.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Like, there's no producer making that happen. They're such, they're such a fan of each other's work and they're doing really different shit. And so they're all impressing each other and learning from each other. It was very cool. I really haven't, when I was coming up as a comic and I lived in Chicago, because there was at the time no entertainment industry there. all the people who were in the art world intersected, you know, like the modern dance community and the drag community.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Sure, there were like the three cool bars and everyone hung out at those. Yeah, or like rode their bicycles next to each other with like jorts on, you know, and I felt like I knew all those people and we were really like in it together. And I just think that being around that feeling is amazing. So I think you could cry in that circumstance,
Starting point is 00:20:12 you could cry or laugh at anything. Yeah. If you're looking in any town, whether it's a big city like Chicago or you're in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, if you're looking for that vibrant art scene, you can find it. And the best way to do it is just look for the jorts. Look for the jorts. Just look for the jorts. If you don't think there was in 2008 a direct correlation between cut-off jorts and, well, me specifically,
Starting point is 00:20:39 but also people I was going to date, that's another one. and, you know, just people I want to hang with. Yeah. There were young stand-up comics who weren't wearing shorts. Would you? You know, I would consider them colleagues and not friends. I'll wave to them. Sorry, Hannibal Burris.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Absolutely. Would you prefer that? Your full pants. I did drive Hannibal around in my car at this time. Okay, that was nice. Yeah. Would you prefer the people made their own jorts? And did you make your own jorts?
Starting point is 00:21:10 Absolutely. Like, you can't. Well, when you do. said jorts i immediately pictured fully finished seams sure oh no no no um this is like uh the pants are all skinny right you know and so this is not like corn concert jorts no this is like the pants are all skinny and after a while honestly they just get kind of smelly like truly i don't think we were talking enough about that about how dank your legs get yeah this is a very you know PBR-E, time and culture.
Starting point is 00:21:40 So eventually, you know, and as Chicago has such big swings in weather, when you get through the winter season of sweating into your pants, then you just cut them in half and allow that to air it out. Right. Right. You see, it's essentially a venting process. It's a venting process. You got off-gas.
Starting point is 00:22:01 Cam, as the host of this show, do you have to, like, cut people? Do you have to like make any tough decisions? Or do they give you a gun? That's, I mean, well, the police are here. And it's because directly after this, you know, anyway, I'm not going to finish the joke. They're going to let us finish the podcast. They're like, can we get quiet on the set? Cameron's got to cut a motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:22:26 There's a judging panel, the panel of judges, which I was in the first season. This is the second season. I was a judge in the first season, first season hosted by the amazing. Murray Hill. Coming up on Bullseye, perhaps just recently aired on Bullseye. Incredible. And so the judges really make the decisions. My job is to be funny.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Yes. And so I got to, you know, work on some of the scripts ahead of time and then also improvise a lot, which you both know I love. And then my other job was kind of to be like, I think the other anchoring person that could connect with the Kings, but I wasn't going to go anywhere. And it wasn't the same level of like up and down. So really, like, I was delivering the news. I would be the one that would, you know, whatever, or, but I would be like, I don't know, your point person. You would, you would turn the chair backwards before you delivered the news.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Yeah, exactly. I'd say, like, listen, you are out, you know, the kind, loving face you know me to be while also taking off witticisms. There you go. I got a question. Yeah. So I think a lot more people are familiar with the drag queen community to some extent or other. When I was a kid and around the most drag queens, there was a kind of set of standard drag queen characters that you would see a ton.
Starting point is 00:23:49 It was your Diana Ross's, your Dolly Partons, your Judy Garlands, your Liza Minnellys. There was like a group of standard celebrity ladies that any drag queen worth the their assault did at least one of them. Who are the dudes, besides Elvis, you can't just say Elvis? I assume that everybody does Elvis. But besides Elvis, who are the dudes that are in the like, a hall of game for drag kings? I think this is such a good question.
Starting point is 00:24:23 And I want to say, first of all, since I have worked with Kings since my very young... This is the first time you were on stage with D.L. Hughley. Yeah, yeah. I work with Kings for a long time, but I'm not a king. So if there's somebody who wants to correct me who is a king, feel free. It is different. You know what? In my heart, you're a queen.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Thanks, baby. Thanks, baby. And a king, you know what I mean? But, like, anyway, you get it. There's a middle thing. Let's just say royalty. Yags. Royalty.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Kings and Queens, okay, think about, like, gay male culture. Yeah. And the drag. We're experts on it, so you don't even have to. Yeah, too better to ask. that gay male culture might produce based on like, what's a very different kind of can. What gay bars are like, you know, what,
Starting point is 00:25:11 and it's, there's a, that like, we're all partying in our thongs vibe. Now think about lesbian culture and AFAB folks culture and like trans dude culture. And I'm going to tell you that people are partying, but also as a way. Practical motor vehicles. They're partying as a way to raise money for the Democratic Socialists.
Starting point is 00:25:40 You know, like they are partying for mutual aid. Like, they do not go to Pride. They go to Dyke Day. There are some city council candidates that you have to know about. We've talked about this a couple times on the show because this happened to me a couple times on the shows. We won't get too far into it. But they got Dyke Day down the street from my house in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:25:59 I used to go to Duck Day as a kid with my auntie. But, like, here in L.A., it's like right down the street from my house. house. I go over there with my kids. It could be preschool teacher day at the park and it would not be a more positive and wholesome vibe. And there's mud wrestling. Yeah, I mean, somehow they marry those two. I will say that I went with my kid this year and like a little group of our friends. And it's not that I felt like it was not wholesome. But I did feel like I was, the thing about my nipples is that they were covered. Right. And then if I looked around...
Starting point is 00:26:36 I didn't see nips. You didn't see it? I saw the mud wrestling, but the mud wrestling... I mean, there was a nips-in mud wrestling. It was either shirts... It was a park. Here's what I saw. So I think you can only do so much.
Starting point is 00:26:48 No, no, no. You can do it a couple different ways. You're doing it mesh and then underneath... Explain the nips to us. We're just grasping at straw here. You're doing it like some sort of a translucent or, I mean, transparent top, right? Right. With full view.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Or shirts off and then like... electrical tape, you know what I mean? Or like trans tape. So anyway, my point is, I really felt like pretty soon in my wife and I decided to call it because we thought, I think we're, I think we're too old for the shirts thing. Like I think we, and I had the, you know, I did the shirts thing, but I think we're too old. But to go back to Kings, I think it's just like the culture of this type of queerness is so different that we don't necessarily have those like iconic folks that people would occupy their,
Starting point is 00:27:34 it's more like there are horror kings or there are like kings who are doing a political statement or there's like a Magic Mike king and that is like very sexy Magic Mike king is what I would have guessed That is like but no not he's not but not magic Mike Right I just mean imagine somebody is dancing to pony But they're like but I'm not trying to but I'm my own thing Evoke Channing Tatum so yeah exactly
Starting point is 00:28:00 Janitom doesn't enter into it everybody's very their own thing There's a big diversity in how it also is presented because in a lot of queens, you think of like the standard queen, big wig and like dress and all that. And like kings can have like facial hair that they're actually growing or not. They can have like a beard drawn on or not.
Starting point is 00:28:21 They can wear a wig or they have like their own hair. You know, it's like a very, it's a very interesting. The gender fuckage is different. And so therefore I think the point of watching folks on stage is different. But Elvis, though, right? I've never seen an Elvis king. Is there still lip syncing? Is that still part of it?
Starting point is 00:28:39 There can be lip syncing. Okay. Yeah. There can be lip syncing or dancing. There can be real, like, like acting. Sometimes it's just to a Bernie Sanders speech. A lot of people are doing Bernie. A lot of people are out there doing Bernie.
Starting point is 00:28:49 I do want to say incredibly sexy. Do not miss that it is sexy. Right. Sexy. It's just like. They get right down to the mittens. It's just like sexy art funk. Not necessarily like, you know, vodka sponsored.
Starting point is 00:29:03 And I all love to the vodka-sponsored queens in my life. Yes, of course. Yeah. Listen, if we could get a vodka sponsorship for this thing, we'd stop doing this thing. Can I ask you guys a quick marketing question? Yes. I'm glad that you brought this up because it's something I've been thinking about a lot. I've been watching the baseball games on streaming.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Your show, the Kings of Drag, is all. on a gay streaming service. It's on Revery, which is very cool. Of particular interest, too. I don't know. Sort of like how Britbox is of particularly interest to the my mom community. I actually, I had a Britbox subscription for a while, listen. Look, your boy subscribes to PBS Living so that he can watch Kraft in America.
Starting point is 00:29:55 You can also watch it elsewhere, just halfway. You can watch it elsewhere. Okay. Watch it elsewhere. Where else can you watch it? It's like one of those things. built into, you know how you can like with ads?
Starting point is 00:30:07 There's certain things that with ads you can watch them on anything. Like a Samsung TV or like a Fire TV. You know what I mean? Like an Apple TV. Yeah. It's on your Verizon Zumo play. Or like literally anything. It's like what's your thing that you use to watch stuff? And you would usually it's what, but you can find it anywhere. You can watch it on
Starting point is 00:30:25 Qantas Airlines. You're flying into Zealand. You can find it anywhere. Watch it in your furbo. Okay. This is, and Jordan I know, Were you a marketing or a business administration major at Santa Cruz? Neither. I'm pretty sure it was either marketing or business administration. No.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Hospitality. No, I got kicked out for bringing a gun. Oh, no. Sorry. You shouldn't have brought that gun to you soon Santa Cruz. I don't know. I wanted it. It made me feel cool. I feel confused. No, I did. I majored in literature.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Ah. Tell me if this seems like a good slogan to you. Okay. Okay. You guys know the TikTok app? Yeah, I do know about it. TikTok. It's a streaming video app named after the guy from return to Oz.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Do you know my relationship to it is that every night right after my daughter goes to sleep, when I tell myself I'm going to use me else. Then I download TikTok and I watch it for a little while. Then afterwards, the next morning I wake up, I delete it. I go, never again. Then I spend the whole day in a world where TikTok doesn't exist. What are your talks? Because I have not used.
Starting point is 00:31:33 it, but from what I understand, it gets hyper-personalized very quickly. This is really, really, right now, this is like, I can't even. Does it feel too raw? No, it's just everything is about child loss. I think I'm experiencing some new parent anxiety. Wow. And so I seem to have toggled into the everything. I thought you were going to say lesbian nipples.
Starting point is 00:31:58 One in the same. No, what is the loss of a childhood if not lesbian nipples? So it's people talking about losing a child? Talking about their kids. I think I feel very emotional about having a kid. And I feel very because it was later in life for me and because I feel like I waited a really long time and was so excited about it.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I think I am. Parenthood, not losing a child. No. You have yet to lose a child. But I don't fuck you have yet to. Well, you might lose them like at the mall. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I lost my daughter Grace one time at the science music.
Starting point is 00:32:32 What happened? I found her. I mean, it was like five minutes, but she was pretty mad. Where was she? She just didn't come with me from one room to another. Fair enough. Get your shit together. Dads, am I right?
Starting point is 00:32:45 Yeah. Dangling a kid over an open flame. Yeah, that's dads for you. To be fair, weird science exhibit. Sure. A flame dangling bed. No, this is not, that doesn't have to be at science. That's anywhere.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Got it. Anywhere there's flames. They were their slaves. That's a dangling. Oh, the cats at the cradle in the stills, too. You guys know the app TikTok. Yes. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:13 They have TV commercials for TikTok that run during the baseball game. On television. Oh, this is the only TV commercials I see, unless I'm, like, at a Salvadoran restaurant or something, and then they're in Spanish, right? Like, I don't, I'm not watching Channel 6 anymore. I got streaming services with no commercials in them. But sporting events have breaks and they fill them with commercials, no matter whether you're paying for them or not. Right. And so, and they also only will show like one commercial at a time.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Like they got a lot of filler commercials that are just like, you know, Major League Baseball themed ones. There's one that, that, that, where the guy from ESPN is bragging about how EASPN is, how ESPN and is now the official home of, what do they call that when the WB and the UPN joins forces? CW. It's like, oh, yeah, ESPN is now the home of CW sports. And I'm like, what sports we're airing on the CW?
Starting point is 00:34:14 Didn't they just have the flash or something? Anyway, they don't show a lot of commercials. So you see the same commercial like every break. And lately it is just these series of commercials for TikTok. that look like a commercial for maybe a retirement home? Like they have... In what way? They have that kind of like mature adults,
Starting point is 00:34:36 like getting together, like putting their arms around each other, feeling good, sharing big mugs of coffee, whatever, whatever vibe. Or like a diabetes medication maybe would be a good example. Are it just picting people alone or together? Together. Together in groups, but with phones in their hands.
Starting point is 00:34:55 That has nothing to do with TikTok. Or they're recording with their phone. Oh, I see, I see. Okay. And this is the new slogan verbatim. And the reason I asked the two of you, both have MBAs, is I want to know what your opinion of the slogan is. So I think it's an interesting direction they went in. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:11 The slogan of, and this is, I'm just reading it straight. Okay. This is not some shit I made up or a joke I wrote. This is the actual thing from the screen. Every day, millions of people discover they can do it on TikTok. Mm-hmm. Oh, well, when I went to Wharton, uh-huh, sure.
Starting point is 00:35:29 During your time at Wharton, one of the top things- Your father, the real estate developer, bought your way in. And that's the truth. Uh-huh. Thanks, Nick Esposito. Good old Nikki.
Starting point is 00:35:39 When I went to Wharton, what was the end real quick? So again, this is the slogan for the video app TikTok. Yeah, yeah, no. Short videos. Very end? So every day, millions of people discover they can do it on TikTok. So when I was at Warden,
Starting point is 00:35:54 a lot of people were impressed with like with the with the Nike yeah famous Nike slogan just do it just do it right and a lot of a lot of times class would the big topic of class would be is do it over did we did it mm-huh do we do it right did we did it did it yeah so now all the years later we're doing it again yeah what is Jordan what you worked at widen Kennedy for a time sure yes I brought that gun You've got to get to one. I brought a guy. I thought it would make me seem cool.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Oh, my God. Probably Carrie from Slater Kinney called the cops on you. Yes, she did. No zero tolerance policy for firearms and the workplace. They had some kind of tree house net in their office. Yeah. So yeah, so let me ask you this. I'll ask the TikTok users this.
Starting point is 00:36:48 Okay. How sexual can you get on TikTok? because isn't it maybe owned by the Chinese who don't want that sort of thing to be on there? It's a good question. Yeah. I think you can get pretty sexual. What I think you will get buried for is...
Starting point is 00:37:09 If you already have one child. And you're trying to get sexual. Yeah, yeah. No, I think people are like... I feel like, you know where I see it a lot that I think is honestly, I saw one, a really good one last night, um,
Starting point is 00:37:26 is like the video itself would just be like normal or whatever, and it's the text that's over it that's very sexy. Oh, so it'll just be somebody making some eggs. Like the Kairns? Like it was like a flat caption. What was it? Oh my God, it was so good.
Starting point is 00:37:43 It was like a, so this is also, well, lesbians are always, I didn't, I felt like I didn't need to say that there were lesbians in my feed. Oh, okay. Did I need to say, say that. I think you did need to say that. Okay. Lesbians and then also like working out
Starting point is 00:37:55 videos. Like well not even working out like specifically like weightlifting. So it's really just, it's like lesbians weightlifting. Are the lesbians? Are the lesbians? Or is it lesbian's weightlifting or is it like male? Is it like Arnold Schwarzenegne? Is it Lou Ferreigno?
Starting point is 00:38:10 Arnold does sometimes come up for his son. Cameron, if it's Lou Forigno, you have to tell me. That's the law. No, it's not Lou. I've not seen him. But no, it can be, It can be bodybuilders or sometimes it's just like a woman with a hot back, you know, who's like flexing under some good lighting. Sure. But, oh, yeah, last night I think it. What constitutes a hotback on a woman?
Starting point is 00:38:33 For my community? I think it's like. Tattoo of angel wings. Yeah. Hey, that's not bad. That's not bad. I think it's like, yeah, it's like, it's, well, it's, it's like a V shape, you know. It's like a swimmer's, like a swimmer's physique.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Yeah, exactly. And, you know, anyway. But this was, there was like a, it was like a pretty woman. Yeah. And then over top it said, oh my God, how, how dirty can I be on this? This is Jordan, Jessica. We don't care. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:03 I think it was like. We have like cum segments. Right. I think it was like, like she tells you you're pretty, but she doesn't know how pretty you'd be struggling to take it. Oh. Struggling to take it? Wow.
Starting point is 00:39:16 She says you're pretty, but she doesn't know how pretty would be struggling to take it. And it's just... And she's just like smiling. Wow. And like moving around a little bit. Yeah. That's really intense. People in the comments really like to...
Starting point is 00:39:32 I feel like on Facebook now has those little reels that will pop up. Yeah. And I feel like I will get some where it's like a hot lady, but the caption suggests, that people don't think she's hot. It would, so it's like a hot lady, and she'll just be like, looking at the camera, like, it's just me. And then the caption will be like,
Starting point is 00:39:58 is it true? No one likes Latina nurses? I see, I see, I see. Is it true? Right. Everyone is saying, right? No one likes Latino and nurses.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Oh, I think TikTok is having an opposite problem that I haven't seen really get to. TikTok is having the problem of, they're doing the, can you believe I'm, 41 thing and then that's going badly for them. Do you know what I'm talking about? Like a person's posting a thing. Oh, right. Can you believe I'm 41? And then everybody's like, I'm a, I would have thought you were 63. I'm a male model who plays a teenager and it's the world's
Starting point is 00:40:30 most weathered man. Not just that, but then like a real, like a real earnestness. You know what I mean? Like a like a woman with like a real earnestness. I all, I don't look at the TikToks. I only, I'll post a TikTok so that I could post a TikTok so that I could post a TikTok from time to time. And sometimes I will go on there to repost like a bullseye clip. Okay. Because I know that. And so that's the only thing that it feeds me is shit from Judge John Hodgman and Bullseye, because I'm sure because I repost them and I don't watch a second thing.
Starting point is 00:41:00 I try not to look at any of the videos on Instagram other than ones from people I know. Like I'll watch ones from people I know all day long, but I don't go into the like, suggest me a thing section. Neither do I. and I mute. Once a month, it, like, starts giving me other people's posts that I don't follow, and I turn it off right away. You only can do it a month at a time, but I turn it off right.
Starting point is 00:41:26 So I'm very virtuous. I want to emphasize. You're good? Yeah. Am I good? Tell me I'm good audience. Sorry. I just need them.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Tell me. On Facebook. Okay. Which is by far the worst of these platforms. Sure. Not even fucking close. And I don't even know why I'm still logging into this. It used to be because I would go there to go to my Facebook baseball talking group, but that got ruined.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Yeah. And then I don't even need auto parts for my weird Japanese motor vehicle, which was the last thing I really needed on Facebook. But I do, the Facebook equivalent of reels has figured me the fuck out. Oh, my God. And the way they did it was they just started showing me slow motion video of guys throwing knuckle balls. Oh, my God. I will watch slow motion. video of knuckle balls. And this is not even like, like it started out with like,
Starting point is 00:42:19 here's Major League Baseball legend Charlie Huff at 47 throwing a wild knuckler, like six Tim Wakefield gems in a row. Now it's just a fucking guy in his backyard throwing a knuckleball. And I click on it every goddamn time. I feel like for, for my job, I also use TikTok for like news and zeitgeisty stuff. So it's less knuckleballs, but it is like, those special interests I mentioned, those happen. But then there's, there is a lot of, it's like, it's around the time we first met.
Starting point is 00:42:53 It's like, if you were a comic and you weren't on Twitter, it's like, it was like a problem. Sure. For your connection to the world. You would have to like send it to people if you wanted to get a job. Like they would want to see your Twitter following and you send us five funny tweets. I mean even on the consumer end. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Right. Like I don't, I'm like not, I do my, I do well on Instagram. I do not do well on TikTok. But I think as a consumer, if you do my job, you like have to know what people are talking about. And especially like younger people. I really feel like I have to, I have like some younger friends. You know, I have like older friends, friends my age. But I know a lot of people who are our age don't necessarily have younger friends. But I think that as a part of my job and I don't know, I have to know what's. I have to know what's. I have to know what. going on. A lot of my older friends lately. I have a lot of older friends. A lot of them have recently learned that they can do it on TikTok. They can do it on TikTok. So that's nice for me. Let's take a break. Let's take a break. Let's take a break. Let's find a place to do it. We don't know where to do it. We'll be back in just a second on Jordan Jesse Go. It's Jordan Jesse Go. I am Jesse Thorne America's radio sweetheart. Jordan Morris boy. Detective. Every episode of Jordan Jesse Go is, of course, supported by the members of Maximum Fund. Jordan? Yes. A lot of people out there are members of Maximum Fun to them. We say thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Thank you. Some people out there are not yet members of Maximum Fun. Maybe they should go to MaximumFund.org slash join JJ Go. And they'll be a member of Maximum Fun in like 90 seconds. Yeah. What are you waiting for? It's fun. It's easy. And you get our bonus episodes. This year, our bonus stuff, it's called To Be Watched, and it's you and me picking movies that have been in our cues for far too long. We watch them, we tell you about it, we have
Starting point is 00:45:00 a blast. This month, we picked from your cue, Jesse. What do we watch? We watched the James Bond film Octopussy. What's it called? Goldfinger. I could think was Thunderball. That's a different one, right?
Starting point is 00:45:19 Listen. That James Bond has been on a lot of adventures. Some of them suggestively named. Yeah. And you know what? It was the first time I had ever seen a James Bond movie other than the Pierce Brosnan and the Daniel Craig ones. It's your first pre-Brosden Bond movie, maybe the Bondiest Bond movie ever made.
Starting point is 00:45:39 It's where all the like Bond stereotypes come from, all the famous scenes. How much did I like it? You'll have to listen to find out. You'll have to listen. I liked it pretty well. And next month, I'm picking, and I am letting the audience help us choose. I wanted to watch one of the 80s dance movies that start with an F that I've never seen. So you're going to help us pick, follow us on social media, to choose if we watch FlashDance or Footloose.
Starting point is 00:46:09 So I've never seen either of those. One of them has the woman dumping water on herself. Yes. Which sounds wet and hot. Oh, sure. and then the other one has Kevin Bacon. We could only hope at some point he dumps water on himself. We also are supported this week by the folks at Factor.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Now, Jordan, I moved recently, and I don't know where anything is. I do not know where anything. I went two weeks rotating three pairs of underwear. And you're probably, you're going into the kitchen. You're looking for a fork. You can't find. it. So you're eating lunch with a pen. I just...
Starting point is 00:46:52 Is this the kind of thing that's going on? I just, sometimes you just need something easy to eat. But when you want something easy to eat, you also want something that tastes good. And it's like a real balanced meal isn't just, you know, a plate full of microwave macaroni and cheese. Not that I'm above that. But sometimes you want a vegetable as well. And that's...
Starting point is 00:47:15 A little protein. That's where Factor comes in. Factor makes chef-crafted ready to eat meals, so you don't have to choose between convenience food and real food. Here's some of the options you'll get from Factor, salmon burgers, shredded pork, collared greens, and more. And hey, if you want a little add-on, a little sweetie, they got pumpkin-flavored cheesecakes and protein shakes. And that sounds fun and convenient, too. Let's eat real. head to factormeals.com slash j.J. Go 50 off and use code J.J. Go 50 off to get 50% off and one free
Starting point is 00:47:56 breakfast item per box for one year while supplies last until 1031, 2026. That's code J.J. Go 50 off at factor meals.com. J.J. Go 50 off at factor meals.com. See website for more details. What have you got going on in comic book world, Jordan? Well, Jesse, if folks are listening to this soon after it's released, they can come see me at the Santa Clara City Library for the Santa Clara City Library Comic-Con. That's right, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Don't go to the county library.
Starting point is 00:48:34 It's at the city library. I'm going to be there with a bunch of books. Yeah. Real ones, no. Yeah, the county library can suck an egg. No, I'm sure it's really good. I don't know. It's probably got some freaking library in Campbell or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Hey, and if you're in North Carolina, I'm going to be at the North Carolina Comic-Con at the Durham Convention Center. That is November 14th and 15th, NCcom.com.com for those tickets. Can I make a suggestion to people in North Carolina? Yeah. North Carolina, come on, stand up. Take your shirt off. Wave it around your head like a helicopter. And then go see, Jordan, at the... Durham Comic-Con. Is that what they do there? Yeah, well, Peti Pablo employs them to do that. Peter Pablo and me. Thank you. Yes, I would love to see all the whirling shirts at the Durham
Starting point is 00:49:27 Convention Center. And hey, anywhere you are, head to your local comic book store and pick up the amazing venom from me and artist Luke Ross. It's a fun romp through the Marvel universe that you don't need to have read anything to have fun with. Jordan, I got a question. Yeah. An amazing venom probably costs like $5 or $6, right? Yeah, $499 cover price. Okay, great. The first five people in North Carolina who go up to Jordan at his table,
Starting point is 00:49:55 take their shirt off, wave it around their head like a helicopter. Right. I'm buying your copy of Amazing Venom. Wow. Oh my gosh. Okay, this is huge. This is huge.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Jesse, I'll bill you for these comics. And I want to be clear, you're not allowed to check first if you're one of the first five. This is something you're doing that in your heart. and then I'm rewarding you. Yeah. I love this. This is perfect. I accept this challenge, Jesse. Yeah, so check out the Amazing Venom and come see me at those comic events.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Jesse, the holiday shopping season's coming up. Is it not? It is, Jordan, and we are dropping stuff like literally every week at Put This On Shop at Put This Onshop.com. A lot of clothes lately. You know, I have just a few left of these people. pocket squares that we made out of silk escape maps from World War II, or actually probably a Cold War era.
Starting point is 00:50:54 So like when you jump out of an airplane, you need a map in case something goes wrong. But if you have a paper map, it gets messed up when you hit the water. And so flyers carried silk maps called escape maps that they could also ball up really small and, you know, put where the sun doesn't shine if they needed to. Get it up there. Yeah, get it up there. And we got our hands on some now vintage, almost antique ones and made some pocket squares. There's a few left. Those are at put this on shop.com. They're pretty incredible. And we also have, like, I mean, I just brought home so many
Starting point is 00:51:34 amazing lobby cards from Mexican movies in the 60s and 70s. So if you need a lobby card for La Beastia de la Noche Amaria, the Beast of the Yellow Knight, the monster of the Yellow Knight, if you need, I mean, I ultimately had to put it in the store rather than just give it to you, Jordan, because, you know, you don't need any more stuff. And I need to sell things to pay my rent. But also, I do have some lobby cards for a movie called Dinosaurio. Wow. What about la Danza de los Diamantes?
Starting point is 00:52:16 Ooh, sounds devious, but also alluring in a way. Yeah. Jesse, when it comes to gift giving, would you say that these items would go over better or worse than a Starbucks gift card? I mean, it depends how basic a bitch you're gifting. Right. But if there anything below a 10 out of 10 basic bitch, I'm going to tell you that they're going to go over great relative to a Starbucks gift card. So hit up Put This Onshop.com.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Get yourself Guerrilla Salvage, which appears to be some sort of Rambo knockoff lobby card, or something else amazing, like Sammy La Focca Loka Lolaca. Sammy, he's a crazy seal. Sounds amazing. All of that. I've put this on shop.com.
Starting point is 00:53:11 We'll be back in just a second on Jordan Jesse Go. It's Jordan Jesse Go. I'm Jesse Thorne America's radio, sweetheart. Jordan Morris Boy, Detective. Cameron Neswazita. You should see what I look like. No, I can't even finish. I'm struggling to take it
Starting point is 00:53:42 I'm struggling to take it I'm sure I will periodically paw over to the you know suggested for you Instagram tab it is now just
Starting point is 00:53:54 female rugby players on vacation you know who's got a great work life balance female rugby players Are we talking to Lona Mar or are we talking about like deeper Now I started with her
Starting point is 00:54:06 Is this a hot? Is this a hot, thick rugby player? Is that what we're talking about? Alona Marr? Yeah. Oh, yeah, she's like the hot thick rugby player. Okay. Like the hottest.
Starting point is 00:54:17 You should see where she goes on vacation. But she's also so good at, like, fierce and good at rugby. She's, and then she was like Victoria's secret. I'm a little worried just because every time I see her she's on vacation and I worry that maybe she's not out there. And the rugby will suffer. Right. No, I understand what you're saying. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:33 But have you ever seen her stiff arm somebody? I mean, it's. I got to say, it wasn't. I have seen her at a buffet in Tulum. She's killing it. A couple of years ago, one of my kids got really into basketball. And NBA basketball is extremely expensive. And so we were not going to NBA games.
Starting point is 00:54:54 But Los Angeles Sparks WNBA games cost like $8 if you buy a ticket secondhand. Not anymore. Oh, really? Because of cultural phenomena surrounding the WNBA. Yeah, WNB. And the WNBA is happening so hard right now. I'm so happy for those women. They did a contract renegotiation this year that delayed the season, and they are getting
Starting point is 00:55:16 more fairly paid than they ever have. Viewership is through the roof. I had not watched the WNBA other than very casually, and we started kind of following it because we were going to, like, we probably went to 10 games a year or something out of the 25 or whatever that they play at home because you could. Go on stub oven, buy a ticket for $10. I was like, yeah, this is fucking fun. This is fun as shit.
Starting point is 00:55:41 And I had never experienced sports horniness before. I felt very uncomfortable experiencing it in front of my children. Had to kind of try and hide it. Oh, like you thought the women were attractive? Yes, many of them. They are. I was like, they're total babes. They are babes.
Starting point is 00:55:56 It's weird because they're performing incredible sports feats. I know. And I'm delighted by their sports performance in the same way that I am, the fellas whose sports I enjoy watching. but now I'm also romantically interested in them. Listen, you cannot possibly be experiencing what I'm experiencing in my community is experiencing in this regard. I'll tell you that one of the biggest stars to ever come out of the NBA or the WNBA,
Starting point is 00:56:21 well, I call it the NBA and then I call the other one the NBA. Anyway, one of the biggest stars to ever play, Paige Beckers. She was number one draft pick two years ago. and she was last year's rookie of the year, incredible player. Then it came out that she was dating, one of her former fellow players at Yukon. That woman graduated. She was the number one draft pick last year. And now they play in the Dallas Wings together.
Starting point is 00:56:50 As the two number one draft pick, AZ is now hurt. But they had a great start of their season. They're both beautiful. They seem extremely cute together. and they keep their relationship kind of under wraps. Imagine if the two number one draft picks in any dude sport then were adorable,
Starting point is 00:57:16 youthful, and they're socially justice-minded. So that's the thing. And they're together in a romantic way. And to top it all off, they have good takes? Oh my God, and they're, and they have the best clothes? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 They had to stop talking about it because people would not, because these people are freaking out. As a person who has been like a deep, passionate, lifelong baseball fan, I have been spent my whole life watching baseball and slowly coming to the realization that in a league with 25 players, 26 players on 30 teams, that's 600, 700 baseball players. There are three of them. that I would make it through dinner with, right?
Starting point is 00:58:05 Like, of all of these men, any of whom probably nice? I don't know. But there's probably like three of them I would like to talk to for more than five minutes. About my favorite, they're all professionals at my favorite sport. I watch a thing with these WNBA players. I want to be best friends with every single one of them except for the one lady. They're so cool. They really are so cool.
Starting point is 00:58:29 I'm so happy for them. It's like amazing. Anyway, I could go on. You know, it sounds pretty momentous. What happened. Thank you, Jordan. And you know what else? If something momentous happens to somebody, what should they do?
Starting point is 00:58:43 They should give us a call at 206984-4-5 or email a voice memo to whatever the email address is. JJ Go at maximum phone. I don't know. I'm impressed that you remember the phone number, but not the email address. I don't know. Yes. And, you know, and then people do that. and then we listen to it and then we say stuff about it. Yeah, that sounds great.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Let's listen. Hey, Jordan. Hi, Jesse. I guess. Miles from Beverly calling in the momentous occasion. I just got asked by the facilities manager at the theater I work at if everybody can move their car from the back lot to the side lot because the state is bringing a beached whale into our parking lot
Starting point is 00:59:27 so that they can take it to a facility to go get it tested to see if it has some sort of whale disease or something and to get it away from the public on Labor Day. So thanks. Bye. First of all, thank you for calling us. Thank you for. I always appreciate it when people call quickly. I know that you were in the middle of one of those tornado simulators at the Science Museum.
Starting point is 00:59:55 And thank you for making them call right away. added something to it. That did add kind of a beachiness. Yeah. I think probably what's happening is that the crew of the starship enterprise is taking the whale aboard the ship. That's too. So it could communicate with the alien. They must be, he must work at a controlled implosion facility.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Right? Isn't that the problem with a beached whale that it gases build up until it explodes? I think this was an alive whale that they were helping. But how? No, I don't think that would go to a parking. Can you de-beach it? I think you can, but only if it goes straight back into the water. I think if it's going to a parking lot, that's not a good sign.
Starting point is 01:00:36 That's the wrong direction. I'm with you, Cameron. So the whale can smoke with its friends. Cameron, I'm with you on the WNBA, and I'm with you on what direction whales should go in different circumstances. Who did he say had called? Was it like the government? The facilities manager, I think. But the like the facilities manager told me that was it the government?
Starting point is 01:00:57 or the police? I'm just, I'm just asking because I wish it was the government. The highway patrol, I believe. Because they were going too fast. Uh-huh. Toward the parking lot and away from the water. Wow.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Anyway. I think, listen, I love a thing. I think if you see a whale, say something, say a whale. If you see a whale, say a whale. Yeah. I'm saying, roll, get your buddies and roll it back in the water. How many buddies do you think?
Starting point is 01:01:22 Let me ask you this, Jordan. Yeah. Let's say this is a toothed whale. Let's say it's a sperm. Right. That's a toothed whale, right? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Cam, you've been on the show a few times. Yeah. The main thing we talk about is tooth versus baline whales. I was going to say, as opposed to Baleen. Like, as if I... This is the main... Two kinds of whales. Occasionally, we repeat back things that we remember that Coco the Gorilla said,
Starting point is 01:01:48 but mostly we talk about tooth versus bailing whales. Yeah, yeah, I get it. We learned three things when we were eight. Sure. And we shut it down there. Nothing else. Okay. Eli Whitney invented the cottons.
Starting point is 01:01:59 So let's say it's a sperm whale. Yes. James A. Neesmith invented basketball. Really? Yeah, shooting something new little peach basket. Well, we all. We all learned stuff when we were eight, didn't we? Julian, look up how many pounds a sperm whale weighs.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Oh, and also, Julian, what did you learn when you were eight that you remember and repeat? Are we talking important things that you learned in school or, like, street knowledge that I learned about Pokemon or whatever? Just like a fact, a fact that'll get you two points on it. Yeah, I don't want to learn the difference between snorting and freebase. I mean, street knowledge, I'm feeling curious about that. Yeah, I think. I mean, no, I think we're talking facts. Yeah, we're just talking facts.
Starting point is 01:02:37 I learned a lot about, I primarily ascribe everything to the Magic School Bus. So I learned a lot about color theory with RGB. I learned how that that's like the colors go through the thing. Okay, yeah. The Prism rules. I learned a lot about planets. Yep. Mainly because I liked that at the end of Magic School Bus, they would fact check
Starting point is 01:02:54 the cartooniness of the show and be like, actually, you can't take your helmet off on Pluto and expect to survive. And they're like, we're just having fun. You fucking idiots. But yes, I did learn a lot about, I learned all about the PBS kids.
Starting point is 01:03:08 That was me. Do you think it's possible they put that thing about Pluto in there for liability reasons? Absolutely. Like just in case an astronaut. They're up there. A kid gets his hands on an actual magic school bus.
Starting point is 01:03:20 You get a set of release. You know, planets are the only thing I don't really know. My very excellent mother just... Oh. Fat green spidered. Guys, no. My wife has brought it to my attention.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Because I'm in the person in the relationship that, not in an annoying way, she might ask me something, and then I might know it. In terms of a factoid or whatever, she's got a different kind of brain that's worried about different types of things. But a factoid, things like that, I might be the guy that knows it. But not one single thing about a goddamn planist. What's she working on spreadsheets? What she were going to?
Starting point is 01:03:54 I don't know. She's like, well, she grew up in New Hampshire and they didn't watch anything. They didn't like watch TV. Okay. And they listened to only like film scores and old movies. Well, she's a book editor. She's a smarty pants. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:09 But she still doesn't care about like she wouldn't, she wouldn't give one fuck about getting caught up on Star Wars. I mean, Star Trek. I'm not going to lie to you. She sounds like a lot less cool of a hang than Cameron Brink. Don't bring up that other Cameron. Who's that? My legs are just as long. She's a star from L.A. Sparks.
Starting point is 01:04:32 My daughter fell out of love with basketball, and I'm so mad about it because I want to go to the basketball game with her, and she won't go with me, but I can't just go by myself because somebody needs to take care of the children. Shoot! That's how it works. If one of my children, any moment where one of my children gets involved in anything that I'm interested in, and they're so fucking fast. And this is why I fell in love with Kyle at the Warhammer store. Right. Because if I don't have agency, then the only thing that I can do, like, you know, I took my daughter, Grace, CDC Cameron Esposito. That went great.
Starting point is 01:05:06 But in general, if they fall, if we fall out of sync, then I have to fall in love with whatever shit they're into. Right. And in this case, it's Kyle at the Warhammer store. How old for your child who fell out of love with basketball? She's 12. Okay, shoot, you can't. Because there's an excellent movie called Love and Basketball. It says it's really a sweet and romantic rom-com.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Rom-Drom-Drom. She loves, I'm going to say, Sinaiathan, is that as a star? That's right. Yes, see? Okay. Nailed it. Good pull. Who doesn't?
Starting point is 01:05:41 We, so we listen to a momentous occasion and Julian. Wait, so I want to, yeah, the thing about the sperm whales. Oh, sure. Yes. Hold that thought, Julian. Jordan, how many pounds do you think a sperm whale is? How many pounds is a sperm whale? Sitting right there.
Starting point is 01:06:00 Just picture it right there on Redondo Beach. I think it is 1,000 pounds. 1,000 pounds. A half ton. Half ton, like a half ton pickup? Half ton pickup. Ford, your way or the highway. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:15 And how many guys do you think it takes to roll a sperm whale? Five guys. Five guys. All right. And would one burger, though? Yeah. We all go for burgers afterwards. A little order of fries.
Starting point is 01:06:27 We put her right on the whale. Shells on the floor. Cameron, you're rolling the whale to the water and it's costing me 30 bucks. Cameron, how many pounds would you say a sperm whale weighs? And I, again, I made Julian look so I don't have any fucking clue. So I'm also going to be making a guess myself. And it's not from a place of knowledge. Are we doing Price's Right Rules?
Starting point is 01:06:48 No, we're doing standard closest. Okay. Price's right rules overall are bullshit. They were invented by people who are trying to fucking make up for the fact that they lost. Okay. Listen. No need for debate. You can...
Starting point is 01:07:04 I'm going to say $1,500. I don't know why I'm saying that. It's based on nothing. Great guess. I'm going to say $1,500. How many guys would it take to roll all the whale? 30. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:13 These all feel low to me, so I'm going to go $2,600 pounds. How many guys do you think it would take to roll a wheel? Yes, I think 30. I literally think you need, because also if there's sand. I mean, it's just. And you need logs like if you're building a pyramid. Sure. You need, yes.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Well, also a crane. You know what I mean? There's 30. One guy picks up, uses the crane to pick up the whale. And the other 29 guys go, a little further. Right. More. You might be picturing a claw machine.
Starting point is 01:07:47 Well, yeah, we're straight up to heaven. You're like, well, you call up to Jesus and say, Send you down. Get the whale, not the Sonic the Hedgehog. Okay, what did I just say? I said $2,600. Okay, and I'm going to say to get the whale back on the water. I'm going to say 40 men.
Starting point is 01:08:09 40 men. Julian won't have the answer to that, by the way. Cameron, can I just say men and women? because women can roll whales too. Thank you. Yes. I'm tired of gender essentialists saying who can and can't roll whales. I'm glad you brought that up because I was obviously going to dig deeper.
Starting point is 01:08:28 Sure. Sure. You learned that at Wharton, right? Well, at Wharton, they say, more women. They say non-binary folks to the front. That's what they say. You know, they go. Well, Donald Trump endowed that chair for getting more women to be successful.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Ed Wharton and be more supportive of women in general. What a guy. Yeah. Guys all class and very charitable. Supporting. He didn't have a fraud charity where he just kept the money. That's not what happened. Funneled it right on to sticks.
Starting point is 01:08:59 And then we elected him president again after we found out about that. Julian? Yeah. How much is a sperm whale way? I am happy to say, well, not happy to say. I'm factually obligated to say that you were all so terribly off. Wow. between 30,000 and 90,000 pounds.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Wait, I said, I said 1500. I said what thousand? I was hearing a lot of hundreds and I was like, why are they selling these sperm whale so short? Okay, all right. Between 30 and 90,000, 15 to 45 tons. Okay, Julian. Sir. How many guys does it take to get the whale back into the ocean?
Starting point is 01:09:37 Because Jordan said five. I said five guys. Yeah. I mean four other guys. And they were just eating burgers. They wouldn't have been pushing. I mean, we use a one to five guy scale on our hit internet show, the try hard guys. That is, that makes so much sense.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Now, okay, knowing that, you're at a movie. Yeah. What are we seeing? You come out of the film. Uh-huh. What are we, well, what are we seeing? Amadeus? We're seeing Amadeus.
Starting point is 01:10:05 Okay. With John Malchavitch. This is like a revival. We're seeing a. No, this is the past. Okay. So this is the mid-80s. Okay.
Starting point is 01:10:16 Yeah, when you walk out and the cars have been moved from the parking lot. This is where our friend worked, right? A movie theater? Is that where he worked? I think he said I worked at a theater. I think he said he worked at a marine mammal implosion center. You've got to explode it in or it's going to explode out. And then the chunks of whale are going to be flying everywhere, breaking cars.
Starting point is 01:10:40 I mean, I get what you're saying because I've seen it. They got it on you. YouTube. It's right there on YouTube. When we were asking Julian about the calls today, he said one was a momentous occasion and one is a standard call. A standard call. Which I don't think is a bucket
Starting point is 01:10:54 we've used before, but We've had C.W. McCall. Right, yes. The rap singer behind the hit song convoy. We've had those calls, but I'm kind of curious
Starting point is 01:11:08 what's the standard call all about Julian, let's play it. And then Julian, Once we play this call and we talk about it, we'll find out how many guys it takes to roll a whale, roll a whale, or get the whale in, back in. Hi, Jordan, Jesse Go. This is Eleanor, calling from Portland. I'm the one who calls about the Corvett and Miss Piggy costume a couple years ago. Right now we're at the Rooster Rock nude beach, and there's a guy like maybe 50 feet ahead of me who is a new. naked except for like a bowler hat and he has a black umbrella and a huge bubble wand and he's
Starting point is 01:11:49 just letting the wind take the bubbles all the way down to Columbia and it just felt like something you guys to know about this guy is like this guy is like cosplaying uh fucking a clockwork orange but naked right i was i was wondering if she was going to detala see doing the avengers the british television show the avengers yeah it's cool though the they met the mayor of Portland. It's cool. Do you think the umbrella's open? I think that mayor got recalled, Jordan.
Starting point is 01:12:20 Oh, that's why he's nude on the beach, blowing bubbles at everyone. The new mayor is a skateboarding owl, sure, right? The dog that could smoke in a great town. Yeah. I've never been to a nude beach. Have you boys been to a nude beach? I've never been nude.
Starting point is 01:12:39 Hey, well, this is the part. of the podcast where that happens. You would be so surprised if you found out where my children came from. You found him wandering on a nude beach? Thrift store. You're at the thrift store. I've been to a, I talked about this on an episode of the show.
Starting point is 01:12:58 I went to a nude public park in Paris once. Oh, wow. Yeah. I don't know if they still have this. Did people like your dick? They loved it. You guys used to. Drive in, they said.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Your office used to be right next to a nudnick public park here in Los Angeles. MacArthur Park is clothing optional. By which you mean a public park in which people in the midst of a drug-induced psychosis tore all their clothes off? So that wasn't a very nice thing to say, was it? Yeah, it's all right. It's a great park. It's a colorful place. It's one of my favorite places in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 01:13:32 There's also a lot of people playing soccer and doing and gambling on chess there. Yes. And also, I'm sure you know this, but your, people have to talk. Your office was in hacks, right? What's our office in hacks? Yes, your office is in hacks. I know that it was in pornography because a guest on our show once texted me a screenshot of and said, is this our office? It was in some pornography.
Starting point is 01:13:56 I remember you telling me this. And there was a famous pornographer who lived in our building, Nina Hartley. And I would run into her in the elevator. That is a famous. She was very nice lady. You can also see that old. office in the 1980 Jaws rip-off
Starting point is 01:14:13 Alligator. Oh, that sounds nice. Is that Gator up in the office? No, they're doing like a press conference about alligator attacks. Also, it is supposed to be Chicago. I see, I see. Well, because I've waited for that elevator many times and, you know, always wondered if it was the doors would open, Gator comes out. Yeah, that was the vibe. No, Jimmy A little hat in a briefcase. Jimmy from
Starting point is 01:14:34 hacks, like the character, has an office in your... That sounds great. I haven't even gotten that the season. I've watched a few seasons of hacks. I saw Lori Metcalf driving a tour bus.
Starting point is 01:14:46 That was great. Later. Later. Anyway, if I... I heard she comes back. I heard she comes back, Lori Metcalf. Hey, I don't want to tell you
Starting point is 01:14:54 whether that's true. You know what? Don't try not to look at my smile. Why do we make films and television programs that don't have Lori Metcalf in them? She's just got a finite amount of time.
Starting point is 01:15:06 Why bother? Sure. But why not just make, I mean, let's say she can make less stuff. Let's say she can make eight movies a year, right? Let's say she can realistically she can make eight to 12, eight to 12 movies
Starting point is 01:15:18 a year. She doesn't have the star of all of them. Some of it's just a small part. Okay. Then we should just make eight to 12 movies. I don't know. I mean, there might be creators with a certain interest or cultural background for whom they don't need her in the movie.
Starting point is 01:15:34 I mean, unless... Like Spikely who directed the original Kings of Comedy? I think she could have improved the original kings of comedy if they gave her a little part in it. She doesn't have to be one of the kings. I don't know. I mean, sinners. It could be like, what's she doing? She got a bit a racist vampire.
Starting point is 01:15:49 They had a lot of racist sinners. Lori Metcalf would have made a wonderful racist vampire. She could have been an Irish. Oh, it's me. Lori Metcalf. She probably wouldn't say it's me. She wouldn't say that. I'm a star mostly of Broadway these days.
Starting point is 01:16:03 But sometimes I turn up in film and television and get nominated for awards. because everyone respects me so. I'm funny and I'm a gifted, I'm a gifted dramatic actress as well. Okay, let's pause. Julian, see if you can get Lori Metcalf on the phone to wrap up the episode. Julian, it's me, Lori Metcalf.
Starting point is 01:16:25 She probably wouldn't say it's me. I'm wondering, when we come back from the brick. Who says it's me? Well, Lori Metcalf just did. I, Lori Metcalf just did. The racist vampire, I is, I is. Julian, when we come back, I'm going to need you to tell me Laurie Matkaff from Roseanne and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company
Starting point is 01:16:47 how many men it takes men and women and NBs to get a sperm whale back into the ocean. Not Lake Michigan, though, the real ocean, where it won't die from lack of salt. We'll be back in just a second on Jordan Jesse Go. La La La La La La La Hey guess what's who the subway train No, not that gross
Starting point is 01:17:18 I'm just trying to tell you I realized what Dr. Game Show is about You know that part of any game show where you meet the contestants And it's only a 30 second conversation At our podcast it turns into two hours of small talk With listeners from around the world Also the games we play are the ones that they submitted We have to play the no matter what. Oh, and Alex is here to help keep the pod running.
Starting point is 01:17:41 Hey, I'm here too. Anyway, I like talking to silly billies and playing their weird games. Find it on maximum fun.org. Doctor Game Show. Wonderful is a podcast where we talk about things we like. That's hard to sell in a promo like this, so we've enlisted the help of piano rock superstar Billy Joel to tell you about some of the topics we've covered.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Take it away, real Billy Joel. Daddy Rock's been on Lake Sign, Roleson Shire, Circle time Sega drink has Caesar Salad Tower of anoint Keep me up big time capsules Wayne's world cheese bulls Wallace Stevens stonkey gone Fun size almond toy
Starting point is 01:18:17 They didn't start the podcast Except that's not true They didn't 22 They didn't start the podcast No they actually did That was in fact of them Listen to Wonderful every Wednesday on Maximumfund.org or wherever you get your
Starting point is 01:18:34 podcasts. Thanks real Billy Joel No problem, Griffin. La, la, la, la, la. La. It's Jordan Jesse Go. I'm Jesse Thorne America's radio sweetheart. Jordan Morris, boy detective. Cameron Esposito, Lori Metcalf.
Starting point is 01:18:51 We got her. We got her! Have you ever had a guest? Just enter themselves with another name? I don't think we have. I don't think this is the first time. And you've been doing the show forever. We basically just guaranteed ourselves a Golden Globe.
Starting point is 01:19:05 They love her of time. the globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press loves Lori McHaghan. It'll be so relaxing to finally dethrone Amy Polar. Can I tell you what? I saw Lori Metcalfe on Broadway not long ago.
Starting point is 01:19:18 And you know what I thought to myself? Jesus fucking Christ. 12 out of 10. I just said 12 out of 10. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. She was hilarious. She was moving. She was cranky.
Starting point is 01:19:33 She was beautiful. She was elderly. she was all these different things all at once. She just delivered the full spectrum of humanity in the form of one human being, Miss Lori Metcalf, the bus driver from Hacks. It's a little disappointing, though,
Starting point is 01:19:49 that earlier you shot on Chicago's view of Lake Michigan. And then, later in the same episode, use the Steppenwolf Theater as a major credit. How do you feel about Chicago? I know. That's a good point. I'm sorry that I denied a Chicago in the opportunity to bring up the Steppenwolf theater in any conversation at any time.
Starting point is 01:20:10 Well, I got to play there recently. Really? Yes, I got to headlines. Well, I got to debut, actually nine months, the show that they were the place that I went and I got to workshop at it. The one that our listeners right now can run to YouTube and watch and enjoy it. And you know, it was produced by the lovely, the try guys who I absolutely love and have known for a very long time in our super good dudes. They're really cool guys who are actually, they named their whole thing.
Starting point is 01:20:36 after our online food reviewers, the try hard guys. A lot of people don't know that. They did. We were first. We were first. And our idea of reviewing food on the internet is also an original idea. Well, guys, I'm sorry. I guess they just wanted to try a little less hard. Sure.
Starting point is 01:20:53 Did you know that Mr. T was in the Blues Brothers? That makes sense. Did you know that Mr. T's daughter did stand-up comedy? I think she still, I think she still does stand-up comedy, maybe. I don't know. You don't think so? I don't know. I'm sure she does.
Starting point is 01:21:06 She washed out? Well, no, I just... Did you ever do a show with Mr. T's daughter? Yeah, she was working a lot in Chicago when I was there. It was like a thing. And she would say it. You know what I mean? It wasn't like, then everybody would be like,
Starting point is 01:21:19 what's about to do it? I saw a clip of video, someone sent a video clip to me because they knew how passionate I was about Mr. T and Remain about Mr. T. Who canceled on Bullseye last week. That's rough. I know. He had done some loose canon type press for a documentary that he's in upcoming,
Starting point is 01:21:40 and I think that they thought maybe that's enough press for Mr. T and canceled the final day of press on which he was. That's my guess. Please come back. Come on. You can talk about anything you want on Bullseye, Mr. T. I love you. But someone knew I love Mr. T and sent me a clip in. She was doing stand-up about Mr. T being her dad.
Starting point is 01:21:58 It was really funny. She was very funny. She was very funny. If you are still doing stand-up, I'm so sorry that I don't know. that. Okay, Cameron, I have one final question, and the answer may just be the Blues Brothers, in which case, come up with a different answer. What, for me, the definitive San Francisco movie will always be Star Trek 4. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Sorry, Vertigo. Bad news for you, fucking bullet. The San Francisco movie for all of our times will always be Star Trek 4. What is the
Starting point is 01:22:28 Chicago movie that represents the Chicago that you know and love? You, I don't even have to answer because you both have it in your minds. But I will... It's Ferris Bueller. Yeah. It is, though. And because, especially with my... With our age group.
Starting point is 01:22:43 Like, there was no... And if your name is Cameron. Oh, no. Yeah. I would think you might resent it for that reason. No. This is what... This is...
Starting point is 01:22:53 Okay. In this time period, there were no Camerans. Cameron was not a name. And certainly not a girl, Cameron. Like, the types of things that were happening to me... What about Cameron Loughlin? I went to middle school with and later became a television weatherman in Arizona. Weatherman, though. Weather man?
Starting point is 01:23:10 Yeah. This is what I'm saying. I got put in the boys basketball camp at my own middle school. Just because they were just like. They just sorted it based on Cameron's. And then a lot of times, and this has still been in the main of my existence life, you know, people would say Carmen or whatever. Then one time my older sister came running down the stairs. And so when Cameron was in Ferris Bueller's, it was like, okay, at least people know this is
Starting point is 01:23:33 name, right? So that was a real relief. But the real moment is when my older sister came running downstairs with a copy of 17 magazine, she's in the back, and she is looking at the credits. And she's like, Cameron, there is a model in this magazine. She's the cover girl. Her name is Cameron Diaz. Oh, my gosh. This is how Cameron Diaz got her start. And then eventually, obviously, became a bigger star. It's from your older sister. Yes, exactly. became a bigger and bigger star, a huge important person in my life, the first Cameron I was ever aware of,
Starting point is 01:24:08 and actually a few months ago. You had a thing with the masks, too, briefly, right? I loved the mask. A few months ago, I did a chemistry read with her for a film. And you guys, I got to say I was... Cam on cam. It was, yeah, I mean, I tried...
Starting point is 01:24:26 That's right, by the way, my TikTok is all red hot, red hot cam on cam action. I was I think I was four weeks postpartum and a disaster but I didn't lead with that
Starting point is 01:24:41 because like you want to get the job Right But I will tell you By the way I did get the job I booked it No I did I knew it was you The chemistry was crackling Seriously we did the chemistry test
Starting point is 01:24:54 And the guy behind the camera The guy who was casting He was just He just had that like thing where everything on your face is like black from a soot and your hair is going up in the air, except for the outline of your safety goggles. That's how explosive the chemistry was. A little wet whale on him. He got some whale's blowback. A little blowback. No, I mean, I, and she doesn't have a lot of time. If she's doing a chemistry read,
Starting point is 01:25:22 it's with like two people. You know what I mean? So I knew I was very far along in the process. Right. Boys. It's just Cameron, Esposito and Rosie O'Donnell. Gentlemen. That did not go well. A lifelong of preparation to just be in a room. I think I improvised too much. You know what the problem is? She didn't...
Starting point is 01:25:47 She kept riff. They were probably comparing it to the chemistry between Cameron Diaz and our friend Nick Weiger went to high school with it. They did go to high school, the same high school. Did you, as soon as she was... walked in, did you say Samokin? I did so much Cameron material.
Starting point is 01:26:04 You know what I mean? But everybody did. Ah, Cameron, blah, blah, blah. Then what I will say is that, you know, it was like a tough couple days afterwards. Because it's not like you don't know. It's not like I left and I thought, I wonder if I can't it. Yeah. There was disappointed faces all around.
Starting point is 01:26:20 Quick change. Is that a Chicago movie? Quick change? I feel like maybe that's in Chicago. Quick change. I don't know. I mean, at the very least, it's an art form where you're wearing one dress and then later you're No, that's true.
Starting point is 01:26:30 It might not be a movie, but it might. Calling that an art form seems. I know that we're, look. Come on, man. What? Oh, sorry. I know that I'm, you can wear 20 dresses?
Starting point is 01:26:41 I'm the guy who subscribes to PBS living. I'm the fucking coastal elitist snob, but I don't know if we need to extend our definition of art to include people who can change their clothes. Man, I am going to call all my former friends from the circus and they are going to get you. They're already. These circus folk, these circus folk know how I feel. Right.
Starting point is 01:27:05 And they are after my ass. Get his ass is all they say about Jesse in the circus community. They're going to get you. Get his ass. Julian, I guess before we go, has an answer to how many people it takes to roll a whale from the sands to the ocean. You said five. Cameron, you said a more realistic 40.
Starting point is 01:27:28 I said 30. you said 40. 30. I said 40. So you said 30 and your thinking was that they would use a claw machine. Right. One guy to drive the claw machine and the other 29er to cheer them on. And feed quarters.
Starting point is 01:27:42 It depends. Ultimately, it's going to depend on the weather. It's going to take a couple of bucks to get the whale. There are any stuffed animals, even partially on top of the whale, because that's really going to cause problems. Here's what's kind of surprising about it, and you probably didn't anticipate this regular-sized claw. Oh, okay. You were thinking big, as I said, it does come down from heaven, but they just, because God has a sense of humor.
Starting point is 01:28:04 I guess I was thinking about a really big, cry. I was thinking about a really big claw, Cameron, but it's because I was wondering what a whale would look like if it was struggling to take it. Oh, come on. Julian. Is the claw the thing that's taking it? I brought that up. Is the claw the thing that's taking it in that situation?
Starting point is 01:28:24 I can't take this whale. Whales too much for me. going into the blowhole, Jordan. I really want to say to that woman, effective TikTok. You did a great job. Everybody in the comments also agreed. It was just good wordplay.
Starting point is 01:28:37 Yeah. God. And hey, Latina nurses, we like you. We like you. And you know what, knuckleball, you do have sweeper-like action. Can I just say that knuckleball did have sweeper-like action? Okay, let's get the guy count on the whale rolling. And then we'll remind people where they can watch cams.
Starting point is 01:28:57 stuff and then we'll be done. There is some very impressive math done here, but assuming that this whale is roughly 25 pounds, it would require 78 people, according to this article. Wait, 25 pounds or 25 tons? Excuse me. Yes, you know, a very tiny sperm whale. No, 25 tons.
Starting point is 01:29:17 It would take 78 people to push this thing back into the ocean, and it would also assume that the whale wasn't squishy. and this would also get... Wait a minute. What website are you looking at? What kind of science is this? This is actually like, it's breaking it down into Newton meters
Starting point is 01:29:35 as they're rolling this thing around. This is a... I'm not going to question this because of how extensively they wrote this out. And how many quarters would it take? Can I just say... If it's me, just one. Just a one quarter.
Starting point is 01:29:47 Bam! No quarter taken, no quarter given. Oh, one quarter Esposito. Jordan, Cam Spoh, you've both known me for a long time. That's true. Yes. And you know that in this house, we believe in science.
Starting point is 01:30:01 Yes. No one is illegal. I remember when you used to wear that exclusively as a shirt. However, well, I didn't wear it exclusively as a shirt. Sometimes they wore it as a sort of sarong. Right. Like if I was getting out of the pool. We believe in science.
Starting point is 01:30:19 Women are important. I around the spy would wear it as a kind of head wrap to dry my hair. That's true. That's true. I wore it in a variety of different ways. I'm sorry. There's a lot of ways. In the winter, I'd wear it as a scarf or mufflet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:35 I will, obviously, I believe in science. In this house, we believe in science. However, a science that tells me that a whale is not squishy is not a science in which I choose to believe. That is how you end up with populist autocrats is the scientists are shaming people. and at the same time trying to tell them that whales aren't squishy. Are you, is this, Julian, are you looking on RFK's website? Yeah, you know that guy has tried to figure out how to get a whale home. It's also telling me that you can eat the whale afterwards.
Starting point is 01:31:08 Oh, right, right, yes. My mistake. Maybe, I'll find more websites and we'll keep following up on this. Yes, please find more websites. More websites. Just name some websites for us. Did you hear, did you hear this thing that because of RFK and make America healthy again, French fries, which for years
Starting point is 01:31:25 had been fried in vegetable oil for vegetarians, for the benefit of vegetarians, and for cost reasons. They're going back to frying them in sperm whale oil. Yes. In lamp oil? Yes. A little blubber. A little blubber. A little bit of blubber. A little bit of that
Starting point is 01:31:48 stuff that you get out of their brainstem that makes perfume work good or whatever. Yes. Yeah. I'm not aware of that stuff. Cameron Espin. I think it's their vomit. Can I just say in this house, Cameron? In this house. We believe in science.
Starting point is 01:32:02 We're at an office. Sure. But you have to understand. An office is not a house. For a few months, I've secretly been living here. Okay, okay, okay. And it's a nice place. And I don't mean to...
Starting point is 01:32:14 I give the maintenance guy $50 a month not to tell anyone. Cameron, Number one. Kings of Drag, where can people watch this? You can watch it on Revery. Clips will be all over the place. Hey, you like clips? Just watch clips.
Starting point is 01:32:32 And now if I'm flying to New Zealand, where can I watch it? I think if you look up King of Drag, you can find all the different ways that you can access it. I would probably start by searching it on the internet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or just type it into your Quartet. They're also going on tour. The Kings are all going on tour together. So they might be in your city, which is awesome.
Starting point is 01:32:48 They're great. You should go see them. Or you might have King. that live locally in your city. If they're doing a live tour and they're trying to entertain people, they're doing Elvis? Here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:33:02 It's a strict Elvis tour. And not the phases that we're familiar with. It's different phases of Elvis's life. All this stuff that happened off camera. The tour supposes what if Elvis lived and then had a little dump step phase. The only drag king tour I ever saw was called Hardly Strictly.
Starting point is 01:33:22 Elvis? Uh-huh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, this one's strictly Elvis. This one's, um, harder. Harder.
Starting point is 01:33:29 Yeah. Okay. So number one, you're watching it on Revery. You're watching it on your Qantas seat back. Yep. You're watching it on your
Starting point is 01:33:37 set top box. Yep. Your cable company set top box. You're watching it on, peeping it in your furbo. Channel 14.3 on your digital antenna. You're, you're catching all the
Starting point is 01:33:49 channels. Each clip. Each clip is clipping past you. In fact, it's hard. At this point, it's hard not to watch it. You get onto a New York City taxi cab. It's playing right there.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Absolutely. Mom Donnie makes you watch it. I know. I know. Especially if you're a child. That's true. Yeah. Especially the sexy parts.
Starting point is 01:34:09 Cameron, your special nine months. This special is just right there on YouTube waiting for everything. It's on YouTube. And actually, also by the time this airs my special prior to that for pills, which was produced by Dropout, will also be on YouTube. Oh, and I saw this show as well. I've seen both of these shows live in, as I saw them live in person because I live in show business land, Hollywood, California.
Starting point is 01:34:34 But both of these shows, totally amazing shows. Nine months is about Cameron's experience with pregnancy, and she recorded it as she was, as my mother would say, about to pop. Actually, it was the night before. It ended up being the night before I gave up. Wow. Wow. Because I didn't know that, but that's it.
Starting point is 01:34:51 And that's very me. It's very on brand. And let me just say, Cameron gave it her all up there on stage. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She didn't hold back when it came to the passion that it takes to perform any great art, be it stand-up comedy or quick change. Well, what is giving birth, if not a real quick change? There you go.
Starting point is 01:35:15 And four pills, look, you got two great choices when it comes to themes in Cameron, Esposito hours. You can enjoy the coming to terms with pregnancy and motherhood, impending motherhood in nine months. Or you can do coming to terms with sex addiction and bipolar in four pills. Hey man, whatever, you know? It's all good, baby. There's two good lanes to check out. I say just one's a Monday watch, one's a Wednesday watch.
Starting point is 01:35:48 You know what I mean? I don't know what your Mondays and Wednesdays are like. And I'll also say this. Cameron Espicito, never squishy. Rock hard. Oh, God. Just like Elvis. You guys are too sweet.
Starting point is 01:36:03 I needed to hear it. Go watch Cameron's television program. Go watch Cameron's special. Julian Burrell on the boards this week. Christian Duenas is our producer on the program. Our theme music is Love You by the Free Design, courtesy of the free design and light in the attic records. You can find us on social media.
Starting point is 01:36:23 We're on Blue Sky. We're on Instagram. We're on Facebook. We're individually on Instagram and Blue Sky. I go, look, I got an account on TikTok. I made five videos. Get on there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:38 Go on there. Get on there. And hey, guess what? I'm moving to Northern California. Show's going to be most of the same. Yes. But I'm really excited about it. We're going to be coming back.
Starting point is 01:36:48 We're going to be doing so recording shows here, recording shows in Northern California. I guess mostly with Kamau. They're a good way to tell if we're recording a show in Northern California rather than down here with me visiting. It's just if Kamau's on. Because it's mostly Kamau. Oh, Scott Simpson, too. But mostly we're recording down here still.
Starting point is 01:37:05 Don't worry. Nothing's changing. Hey, I'm going to send you on your way with all my best. Thank you. I go up there a lot. I was just there two days ago. Watch the fuck out. I'll see you up there.
Starting point is 01:37:15 Watch the fuck out, Berkeley. Here comes Jesse. Yeah, that's right. I'm coming for your batards. Oh man, those guys These batards are incredible What are those? It's like a...
Starting point is 01:37:27 It's like a... It's not a round... It's not a round bread. Well, and I don't know what a batard is. It's not a round bread and it's not a baguette bread. It's an oblong bread. A batard is an oblong bread. I didn't know what it was and I thought I did.
Starting point is 01:37:41 Yeah, anyway. We'll talk to you next time on Jordan Jesse Go. I'll hug you and kiss you and love you. Love you. Love you. Love you. Love you. Maximum Fun.
Starting point is 01:38:03 A worker-owned network Of artist-owned shows. Supported directly by you.
