Hello there everyone, Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Monday, May 9th, 2022. It's now the law in Florida that prohibits school
teachers from discussing gender identity and sexual matters with kindergartners, first grade
and seventh grade. So we're talking ages four, five, six, and seven. This is the purpose of this law is to keep authority figures, teachers, from forcing children to think about sexual matters because it is the determination and the public policy of the state of Florida that these are matters that at that age, four through seven,
these things should be discussed
by the parents and not by the teacher. For a teacher to discuss this in front of other students
forces a child to think about things that are so intimate and so profound, they should not happen
on public government property. They should be taught, if at all, at the discretion of the
parents. Well, you would think that moderate Democrats would agree with moderate and
conservative Republicans on this. Not so. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, a moderate Democrat,
went berserk yesterday on Fox News Sunday with my former colleague,
Brett Baier.
It says, Senator, that you don't teach subjects with gender identity.
You don't think that those kids don't take a message from a ban on the discussion of
their identity suggests that they are not worthy of existence in that school.
Senator, do you talk to your kindergartner about sexual identity?
Half of trans kids in this country have contemplated suicide, and that's because
of the effort to bully them for their identity by adults in this country.
Senator, if there was any bullying going on, it was Senator Murphy attempting to bully my friend
Brett Baier. What I started to say before the clip came on is this is long. It goes on and on and on
and on and on. We picked the 30 seconds that we felt were most emblematic and symbolic and
descriptive of Senator Murphy's mania over this by suggesting that somehow by not discussing sexual matters
in a government school, the children will be bullied. Senator, I don't know anything about
your family. Brett Baer intimated that you have kindergarten age children. God bless you and God
bless your children. You're smart enough to discuss these things with them rather than to
entrust them to a government employee to discuss in front of other children. Where is this country
going and where are we coming from that people like Chris Murphy, a decent, moderate guy from a very liberal state,
wants government employees to talk to children about their sexuality and their sexual identity
and say things like, just because you think you're a boy now doesn't mean you always have to be a boy.
Boy, they shouldn't be hearing that at all. And if they do hear it,
it should come from their loving parents and not from a government employee. Judge Napolitano for judging freedom.
