Hi, everyone. Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Wednesday, July 20th, 2022. It's about 11 o'clock in the morning here on the east coast of the United States. which is as mainstream as McDonald's or Apple or Amazon, just made a startling announcement
yesterday. We'll show you the announcement in a minute. They're actually going to close
some of their profitable stores because they happen to be in cities where the government
is run by liberal Democrats and the government doesn't care about the safety of small businesses. Los Angeles,
Philadelphia, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C. Profitable stores, profitable businesses
being shuttered by the CEO, Howard Schultz, a liberal Democrat, because his fellow Democrats can't keep Starbucks employees safe.
Take a listen.
I don't have to spend too much time on what's going on in the country and how America has become unsafe.
But you all read the press release the last couple of days about the fact that we are beginning to close stores that are not unprofitable.
And so we're listening to our people and closing stores. And this is
just the beginning. There are going to be many more. This is just the beginning. There are going
to be many more. I don't like to take aim at a particular regime or political party, but these
are notoriously democratic towns with notoriously democratic management and notoriously democratic
prosecutors who just can't seem to be
doing their jobs and howard schultz who ran for the democratic nomination for president
uh eight years or six years ago uh is very much of the same political uh mentality as the people
he's now attacking but he runs businesses and he can't get people to work in those businesses
because the neighborhoods are too dangerous. It's a terrible state of affairs in America today.
This is not Joe Biden's problem. It is not the job of the federal government to keep the streets
safe. It's the job of local government to do so, not by coddling prisoners because they belong to a certain
race or a certain class of people, but by prosecuting aggressively those who commit
crimes that cause harm. Because if Starbucks is shutting down, it could be only the beginning.
Judge Napolitano for judging freedom.
