Hi everyone, Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023.
It's about 3.15 in the afternoon here on the East Coast of the United States. For those of you who are waiting for Kevin DeMeritt from Lear Capital to have a really great and informative conversation about gold and silver
as the only true money, the only true commodities that can back up money, the only true commodities
that are worth having to back up money, we had a little technical difficulty and Kevin will be coming on
and we'll let you know when. So this is the latest on Ukraine. The latest on Ukraine, of course,
is a dispute between Joe Biden and Republicans. So I don't have a dog in this fight because Joe
Biden has said, the president of the United States has said, we're going to give Ukraine whatever it
takes for as long as it's necessary. To accomplish what, Mr. President? I've been saying this for a couple
of weeks. You heard me say it. The President of the United States cannot say what our goal is.
Is our goal to push the Russians back to Russia? That's militarily impossible. Is our goal to push
Putin out of office? That's militarily impossible.
I'm waiting for my friend and former colleague, Peter Doocy, the Fox White House correspondent,
or any of the correspondents who have direct access to the president, to press him on this.
And if he says to extend freedom, that's absurd.
You don't extend freedom by fighting a war.
That extends violence.
It is not our goal to extend Ukrainian society over Ukraine.
It should be our goal to defend the national security of the United States, which is absolutely, totally unthreatened by the Russians.
Okay, you get my argument.
This week, we have two very interesting comments. We have the President of the United States saying Ukraine can't lose. We have Congressman Mike McCaul, he of the House Armed Services Committee, saying you're bleeding them dry. You're not giving them enough. We all know that you're not giving them enough with which to fight. First, President Biden, then Congressman McCaul.
Brutality will never grind down the will of the free. And Ukraine,
Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never.
The plan right now from the administration is just enough to bleed through the winter and spring,
but not enough for victory. We need to give them enough for victory. And there are members within
this cabinet, within this administration who agree with me. So Congressman McCaul was actually
in Kiev. That was from Fox News with my former colleague, very courageous guy, by the way,
Trey Yinkst, who doesn't hesitate to go to
the most dangerous places on earth, but he was there in a relatively safe place at an airport
in Kiev interviewing Congressman McCaul, who led a bipartisan delegation of the House of
Representatives, not to accompany President Biden, but to sort of follow him and meet with President Zelensky of Ukraine.
These Republicans that went with Congressman McCaul not only support President Biden giving
$50 billion, he's got another $50 in the slush fund, remember, the Congress gave him $100 billion,
$100 billion with a B, to spend however he sees fit.
He spent $50 billion of it already.
So Congressman McCaul is there saying, spend the rest, spend the rest, give them more.
It's very interesting.
Congressman McCaul is saying just about the same thing that the Secretary General Stoltenberg of NATO said last week, you may remember that clip, where he said
the Ukrainians are using more rounds than we can possibly give them, we NATO and we the West,
and we can't even manufacture it fast enough, as fast as they're using it. So we have a lot of
moving parts here. A lot of people, even on the pro-Ukraine side, saying the same thing.
The president says Russia can't win, Ukraine can't lose.
I think he's dead wrong.
I think Colonel McGregor is right.
I think Scott Ritter is right.
I think Russia has the overwhelming, overwhelming force on its side.
But you also have NATO saying they're using more ammunition than we
can give them. And then you have the leading Republican on this issue in the House saying,
yes, they're using more ammunition we can give them. We need to give them more. Whatever we
give them will result in the needless deaths of Russian conscripts and Ukrainian conscripts. Ukraine can't win this war.
It does not have the military equipment or the boots on the ground that Russia can produce.
This is a vanity war for President Biden and the globalists in the State Department
who think they can scare the daylights out of Vladimir Putin,
but they can't. More as we get it. And more on gold when we get Kevin here.
