Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Tuesday, June 14, 2022. It's about 1240 in the afternoon here on the east coast of the United States.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Does the Joe Biden White House take the American public for fools? Well, a question that's been asked a lot lately. This is not an attack on the president personally, but it is a critique of the manner in which he runs the White House. So his new press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, is very much unlike her predecessor. I like their predecessor, Jen Psaki. Full disclosure, I know Jen, but I like her because she was combative and she was realistic in her defense of the president. Much of what he does in my view and your view, I suspect, is not defensible. Nevertheless, Karine Jean-Pierre sets a new low for taking the American public to be fools. Take a listen. Does the president have the stamina, physically and mentally, do you think, to continue on even after 2024?
Starting point is 00:01:42 Don, you're asking me this question. Oh, my gosh. He's the president of the United States. You know, he I can't even keep up with it. We just got back from New Mexico. We just got back from California. That is that is not a question that we should be even asking. We are coming out of the strongest job market in American history.
Starting point is 00:02:03 And that matters. And that a lot of that is thanks to the American Rescue Plan. And it led to this historic economic boom that we're seeing with jobs. Didn't it also lead to historic inflation? No, that is not how we're seeing the American Rescue Plan. Whoa. Go fill your car with a tank of gas, Kareem, and you'll see what the American Rescue Plan is doing. Look, inflation is not Joe Biden's personal fault. It's the fault of a series of decisions
Starting point is 00:02:35 made by Congress and the president in the past 20 years to borrow and spend money, to put more money into the economy, to have more dollars chasing the same amount of goods. That's the definition of inflation. It causes prices to go up. But to say we don't see inflation really takes the American public for fools, and to refuse to ask the central question of today, refuse to answer the central question of today, does Joe Biden have the stamina to be president, is ridiculous. Answer the question. The question was asked by Don Lemon, full disclosure, a friend of mine from CNN, a person whose political views are generally supportive of this administration, asked a very professional, very courteous, very appropriate question. And Ms. Jean-Pierre reacted as if, hey, this is CNN. You shouldn't be asking a question like that.
Starting point is 00:03:40 What are you, crazy Ms. Jean-Pierre? Answer the question. Does Joe Biden have the stamina to be president of the United States or doesn't he? Yesterday, we ran a clip in which the president said in the same press conference and to the same people, I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to go to Saudi Arabia. Two minutes later, he said, I'm going to Saudi Arabia and this is what we're going to discuss. All right. He can be forgetful. He can be playful. Some of it can be, you know, to catch the press off guard. And some of it may be the rigors of age. The Don Lemon question was perfectly appropriate. And Karine Jean-Pierre ought to have answered it. Will we be getting more of this stuff? Who knows? Judge Napolitano for judging freedom. Resolve to earn your degree in the new year in the Bay with WGU.
