Hi, everyone. Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Friday, January 20,
2023. It's about 1045 in the morning here in Central Time in Austin, Texas, where I find myself. I also find myself considerably aggravated
this morning over the words and the presence of FBI Director Christopher Wray at the Davos
Conference in Davos, Switzerland. What in the name of God are American federal officials doing there?
This is the biggest gaggle of globalists and world government lefties
anywhere in the United States of America. These are the elites who fly there in private jets and
then complain about climate change. These are the lefties who want the United Nations and a world
government to tell all of us how to live under the name of democracy.
And this morning we find the director of the FBI there
lauding the relationship between the FBI and private industry.
The sophistication of the private sector is improving,
and particularly important, the level of collaboration between the private sector and the government, especially the FBI, has, I
think, made significant strides. Do we really want the FBI in some sort of a symbiotic relationship
with private industry? The answer is no. There is only one reason for the FBI or the DEA or the DHS or any of the infamous three-letter entities in the American
government to be involved with private enterprise. And that's because private enterprise can do for
the government what the government can't do on its own because of constitutional restraints. So the government, as an example, cannot suppress
speech. The FBI can't theoretically suppress your speech because of the content of it.
But the FBI could go to Twitter and say, that guy Donald Trump, get his tweets off of Twitter
as a favor to us. And of course, that's what happens. Now we have Chris Wray,
the director of the FBI, going to his left-wing buddies in Europe and boasting about it.
This is a sad, sorry state of affairs. It happened in the Trump administration,
and it's happening again in the Biden administration. And the American people need to know,
when you're dealing with a private entity, particularly big tech,
you may be dealing with Big Brother.
