It's about 2.05 in the afternoon here on the east coast of the United States. What a day we had yesterday with Scott Ritter talking about what's really going on in the war in Ukraine. Scott has been banned from Twitter and who knows more about what the military can do and actually does than almost anyone on the planet. It brought us about 5,000 new subscribers to Judging Freedom. I am ecstatic to those of you who just joined us and those of you who have been faithful listeners since we started this experiment in October. So you know what's coming. Like and subscribe. You also know the treat we have in store for you next Tuesday, April 19 at 1245 in the afternoon. By the way,
Starting point is 00:02:00 the other day I said August 19. That was obviously a mistake. It's next week. It's April 19, 1245 in the afternoon. Ron Paul here on Judging Freedom. Here in New Jersey, the governor has finally put his finger to the wind and he sees which way the winds are blowing and they're blowing very strongly in favor of parents deciding what their children should learn in sex education. The education department of the state of New Jersey, which is totally subservient to the governor, New Jersey has the most powerful governor in the union. So the commissioner of education is appointed by the governor and can be fired if the governor doesn't like the color of his tie, of his necktie. So the commissioner of education, the bureaucrats who work for the commissioner will do whatever the governor wants.
Starting point is 00:02:56 The governor was originally of the view that he could curry favor with the hard left in the Democratic Party nationally if New Jersey could not only become the leader in abortions, but also the leader in LGBTQ education for six-year-olds. I didn't misspeak this time. Six-year-olds were scheduled, were scheduled to have been taught in schools in New Jersey starting this coming September, quote, you don't need a penis to be a boy. I'm not making that up. It's hateful for me to say it. It's hurtful for me to say it. But that's one of the lines from one of the lesson plans offered by the Department of Education and accepted by its senior leadership. Until the governor realized that his dreams of succeeding Joe Biden in the White House might have gone up in smoke with his pandering to the hard, hard left of the Democratic Party by teaching this nonsense to children. Look, children should be immune from this kind of solicitation unless the parents want it and until the children
Starting point is 00:04:16 reach the age of reason. They have not reached the age of reason in the first grade. You don't talk to them about penises and gender in the first grade. It is not right for the government to do this. It's the job of the parents. The parents may choose silence. The parents may choose any means they want that is rational and non-harmful to educate their children, but it's the parents' choice with respect to sex and gender and not the government's. What the heck does the government know? The government does what it thinks will keep it in power. In this case, this terrible governor of this beautiful state was almost defeated by a Republican nobody heard of last November. And his idea of getting the Democratic nomination to
Starting point is 00:05:04 succeed Joe Biden almost went down the drain. He pulled it out about a week later after they finished counting all the absentee and late arriving votes. Okay, the vote was fair, but he won by the skin of his teeth. Now, in order to resuscitate his plans to seek the Democratic nomination for president. He panders to the hard left. It is beyond me why the hard left or anyone would want to tamper with the natural biological gender that God, through the parents, caused a child to have. It is just sickening that the government wants to go there. But politics, which can drive evil, occasionally drives good. That's what happened here in New Jersey just last night, where the governor decided, well, maybe we're going a little too far.
Starting point is 00:06:01 He made that statement when he saw a conservative, mainly Catholic, but not exclusively so, blue-collar Democrats ready to trample his political dreams if this thing happened. This is not the legislature of the state of New Jersey. This is a governor that has way too much power now deciding that it's got to be looked at again. He'll keep walking back from it. He's not going to admit he made a mistake. He's not going to blast his own education department. He's not going to come out like Ron DeSantis in Florida in favor of parents teaching their children about sex ed instead of the government because he's a big government guy. But he is recognizing the fact
Starting point is 00:06:46 that these proposals by his education department are reprehensible and cannot be allowed to stand. Judge Napolitano for judging freedom.
