Hello there everyone, Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today lockdowns. I hate that word. It's a
prison term. It means that the prisoners have been locked in their jail cells. It really should never
be used to refer to free human beings in their homes, in their workplaces, and where they choose
to go in a free society, but that's where we are today. When he imposed draconian lockdowns,
prevented people from going to work. At
one point threatened to put barriers so you couldn't get on
Jersey barriers, those tall cement barriers so you couldn't
get on federal highways, ordered schools and businesses
closed, ordered churches closed, ordered people to wear
masks, ordered them to get vaccines. And I argued with him publicly.
Governor, you own your own body.
And the government can't decide and order you what to put on your face.
Whether it's a mascara, whether you're shaving, whether it's a mask.
You own your own body.
And the government can't tell you what to put in your
arm, whether it's a well-established vaccine like the ones against polio and smallpox, or whether
it's an experimental vaccine like the ones against COVID. The governor, of course, resisted at one
point when I actually boasted that the Roman Catholic churches, I didn't even name the diocese, I just said in northern New Jersey, there were two Catholic dioceses in northern New Jersey, are still open.
State police visited a 77-year-old retired bishop and said, you better close those churches or else.
This is Governor Murphy.
Yesterday, in an effort to express his outrage at the draft opinion, it's not even the law of
the land yet, on abortion drafted by Justice Samuel Alito back in February, which was pilfered
and released, as we all know, by somebody last week.
Here's what Governor Murphy said about you and your own body.
Abortion is health care and health care decisions should be left up to the individual.
Your body belongs to you. Your body belongs to you.
All right. He didn't say it twice he said it once we ran it a second time to
emphasize his hypocrisy so when it supports a political view what he calls reproductive freedom
what i call homicide killing a baby in the womb he will argue your body belongs to you
but when it comes to your right to decide
what belongs on your face and what goes into your veins, he'll say your body belongs to the state.
He didn't use those words, but that was the import of what he did. Governor Murphy, come on.
As they say, man up. I'm happy to discuss this with you in public. We all know we own our own bodies. We don't own the bodies
inside of our bodies, but we do own our own bodies. I wish it'd be clear and I wish it'd
be consistent. And for once, I wish it'd stand up for innocent human life. Judge Napolitano for
judging freedom.
