Undeclared wars are commonplace.
Pragically, our government engages in preemptive war,
otherwise known as aggression with no complaints from the American people.
Sadly, we have become accustomed to living with the illegitimate use of force by government.
To develop a truly free society,
the issue of initiating force must be understood and rejected.
What if sometimes to love your country you had to alter or abolish the government?
the government. What if Jefferson was right? What if that government is best, which governs least?
What if it is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong? What if it is better to perish
fighting for freedom than to live as a slave? What if freedom's greatest hour of danger is now?
Hi, everyone, Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom.
Today is Wednesday, July 22, 2006.
Phil Giraldi will be with us next with this intriguing story.
Are they coming for us next?
But first, this.
Today's headlines aren't just bleak.
They're an indictment of a government that has abandoned the Constitution.
You are witnessing the direct result of the Federal Reserve's relentless
war on the value of your dollar. For centuries, gold and silver have been the ultimate shield
against the state's favorite tools. Monetary expansion and runaway inflation. To protect your
wealth is to protect your liberty. And you can do that with gold and silver. I own both
and continue to buy because J.P. Morgan is now lying gold at over $6,300 an ounce. And Bank of America
is suggesting silver could reach $300.
That's great news for precious metal investors.
Don't wait for Washington to fix a mess they created.
Secure your freedom today.
Take possession of your precious metals or diversify your IRA by adding gold and silver.

Phil Duraldi, welcome here, my dear friend.
Is the Trump administration planning to punish the free speech of Americans,
like you and me and almost everybody watching this show,
were critical of Prime Minister Netanyahu?
Well, I think, I rather suspect that's what's coming.
We've had some recent developments that,
Thursday night speech that the president gave, and then there was a follow-up by Rubio.
And there was a lot of talk about how, I mean, you know, just apparently in their minds,
terrorists are just crawling all over the place together with communists.
I mean, this isn't the kind of talk that we've heard in that way, since the Joe,
Senator Joe McCarthy in the early 50s when he went after communists in particular,
or people who were alleged to be communist,
he said something to the effect of 252 of them were in the State Department.
That was one of his more famous quotes.
I see us moving in that direction.
They're going to be wanting to use the label of terrorism
for any group that,
That basically is critical of Israel and increasingly critical of other policies that are being
promoted by the White House.
So we're going to have a lot of people with any kind of affiliation with these groups
being charged with material support of terrorism and all that can lead to.
So I think that we will be seeing a lot more of this leading up to the midterms.
Because what they want to do is they want to make it look like, well, for the communists,
that would certainly be how they would be labeling a lot of the Democrats who are more progressive.
And for the terrorists, that's going to be people like us who have a different view on foreign policy.
Is the U.S. government planning to invade Cuba?
Well, I think that if you listen to Rubio, it would seem that's the writing on the wall.
And as I was reading some of the comments he was making during the week,
he had several larger meetings with groups of representatives of different countries and so on and so forth.
And he was kind of coming out with this thing.
how communism represents a danger to the free world.
And I was trying to digest that one, wondering how Cuba threatens the United States.
But clearly this is something that he has in his head and that the Trump people and the whole Trump administration also shares.
So it's the kind of thing where they're looking for an excuse.
to go after people, to go after countries that for one reason or another have offended them
or are not supportive of them.
We've seen this, of course, with the war of the United States and Israel against Iran,
where NATO has basically come to the verge of breaking up over the issue of the NATO countries
not believing that there was a threat.
and that they were obliged to support the United States in its war effort.
You know, Max Blumenthal was just on with us,
and he pointed out to me the recent promulgation by Secretary Rubio
of some report pointing out the dangers of Cuba
and the Cubans who have infiltrated the American government.
So I said to Max, have any Cuba,
agents infiltrated the American government.
It goes, yeah, Rubio and his buddies took over the State Department.
Yeah, I think that nails it.
They're probably going to go after Nicaragua next, as if this is an American problem,
because Ortega canceled elections.
Well, that's kind of the issue.
We have a Secretary of State who also does.
doubles as the national security director who has a family history that basically makes him see a lot of enemies and threats in the region that he comes from, Latin America.
And Cuba is certainly going to be, well, let's face it, Venezuela was number one because they had oil.
But we're seeing it with Cuba, and we're going to be seeing it, as you point out, with Nicaragua and also Colombia.
How can canceling elections possibly be a basis for an invasion or an abduction?
Zelensky himself canceled elections in Ukraine, and we still have sent him hundreds of billions with a B,
dollars worth of cash and military equipment.
Well, that's the irony, of course, because there's a whole ton of hypocrisy in terms of how this is played out,
that if you're somebody we like for whatever reason, and of course, Olinsky, dare I say, has close relations with Israel,
we will do whatever has to be done and lie as much as we have to lie to be able to maintain that relationship or that kind of,
level of support. And if you, for one reason or another, are not making the right squeaking noises or
doing the right things, or as in the case of you and your audience here, where we come on and we
speak freely about what we think to be true and what we think to be doing damage to the United
States. But this runs contrary to what people in the White House see. They prefer to see that
everything is just hunky dory.
Wow.
Who is the U.S. citizen James Chambers?
And what happened to him that would be of interest to our audience?
Yeah, this is kind of interesting.
This just happened last week.
And Chambers is a wealthy young man.
He's 41 years old, whether that's young or not,
He inherited money, family money, great deal, and he's applied a lot of this money to what we, you and I would probably describe as progressive causes.
But of course, the people that in this instance have taken, have made moves to arrest them.
Indeed, he was in Spain at the time in Abiza.
and there was an arrest warrant that was presented to the Spanish government to detain him,
which has been done and he's been detained.
And as far as anyone could figure out what the reason was,
it was because he has donated money to Hamas.
Now Hamas, of course, is on the Israeli and American list of terrorism.
even though their only terrorism was being legitimately elected in Gaza, and since that time,
being very active in opposing what Israel has been doing, which is actually a right under international law.
So this guy has been giving money to Hamas.
I don't know how much or what.
And now the United States has come after him.
He's been arrested.
He's going to be deported.
And clearly he's going to be a tried for giving material assistance to a terrorist group.
But this is a joke.
Nobody has, he hasn't shot anybody.
He hasn't bombed any schoolgirls, as far as I know.
We're on the only ones that Israel.
The only ones are doing that.
And this guy is going to be, wind up probably in prison for supporting a cause.
that 90% of the world also supports.
This is rather interesting.
So I'm saying this is the direction that clearly the administration is maybe going to be moving in.
Then looking for someone who says something nice about Hamas.
That could be construed as material support of a terrorist group.
It depends how critical.
Let me get this straight.
The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled in a case called
Citizens United, that speech to political groups is the moral and legal, excuse me, that money to
political groups is the moral and legal equivalent of free speech. This guy is going to be
prosecuted for giving money to the political group that won the campaign in Gaza. Do I have that
right? That's exactly right. And of course, we'll see how this plays out. And this is going to,
This guy, if he's brought back over the United States, which I expect to be the case,
is obviously going to be tried.
He's going to have a good lawyer, and we'll see where this goes.
But this opens the door to all kinds of abuses in terms of what the United States acting on behalf of Israel and others
is willing to do to shut down free speech in this country on certain subjects.
So that's where we're going.
And we've already seen this shift in terms of what they're doing with Ukraine and Russia now.
I mean, this is a total non-brainer where this was a situation that when Trump took office was resolvable without lots of people.
people being killed. And he walked away from that. And now he's opened the door to something
much more horrific, at least potentially so. Why do you think he is starting Iran War 3.0?
Why are we back to bombing and killing? Well, I think to large a sense, because he's so stupid,
he doesn't know what to do apart from that. And certainly there are a number of
people in his constituency in the Republican Party that fully support whatever Israel does.
And they basically are willing to have the United States to go to war with a country that doesn't
threaten us in any way, which has not harmed us in any way, because Israel has made a case, however bad it is,
that this is in their interest, that they are threatened by the Iranians.
The reality, of course, is the other way.
Israel has nuclear weapons, and if anyone is threatened, it's Iran.
Wow.
Trump and Hegsseth have repeatedly said
that the United States has degraded and demolished and destroyed
the Ukrainian Revolutionary Guard Corps and that it has no military assets left.
Is there any truth to a statement like that?
Why would they make a statement like that when we are bombing the daylights out of American military bases in the Middle East?
Well, I could take a-
When Iran is bombing the daylights out of American military bases in the Middle East?
Well, I think there's only one plausible reason for that.
Donald Trump wants to claim victory, and Donald Trump also wants to create a scenario in terms of what's going on where this is a bit of a cakewalk, where if we decide to go full-throttle war against Iran, Iran will basically have very little in the cupboard that it can.
use to stop us or to inflict serious damage on us. Now we know, or at least people who are following
this in a more expert way, people like Larry Johnson for example, know just how much of a lie this
is because they've got good resources within the military and people in the military.
When they go home after the day's work, sometimes talk to their wives, neighbors and friends
and friends. And so the fact that this is all a lie is pretty well known in certain circles.
But nevertheless, Trump doesn't see any alternative beyond military force. And the MOU was basically
a farce to start with. It was not intended to be serious any more than his peace group in Gaza.
and these are all things that Trump and his accomplices have not thought through seriously enough
to understand that these are huge mistakes and there will be terrible consequences.
Wow. Here's Pistol Pete squirming trying to avoid answering his prior questions about.
about the nature and extent of the demolition of Iran's military.
It's about a minute and a half long, but it's worth every minute of it.
Chris, cut number nine.
On day 14 of this conflict, Mr. Secretary, day 14, nearly five months ago,
you stated that Iran's military had been, quote, destroyed and, quote, made combat ineffective.
That was on day 14 of the war.
Was that an accurate statement?
They didn't have a Navy any longer.
It was completely sunk.
Their missiles were buried underneath a lot of their underground facilities and their defense industrial base has been almost completely destroyed.
On day 14 of this conflict in the second week of the conflict, you stated that Iran's military had been, quote, destroyed and, quote, made combat ineffective.
Was that an accurate statement?
Yes or no?
Iran's ability to challenge the United States of America at the level of which we're capable of.
That's not what I asked you, Mr. Secretary.
You said on day 14 Iran's military had been, quote, destroyed and, quote, made combat ineffective.
Yes or no, was that an accurate statement?
What the American military has done to the Iranian military is a historic military defeat.
Will you answer the question?
Under oath, and they're ineffective in that context.
Three weeks after you'd already said Iran's military was destroyed and combat ineffective,
you said, quote, Operation Epic Fury was a historic and overwhelming victory.
you said Iran's military had been rendered, quote, combat ineffective for years to come.
And you stated, we had, quote, achieved every single objective.
Were those accurate statements?
It certainly was on behalf of the men and women in uniform a historic military victory over Iran.
Mr. Secretary, you stated four months ago that Iran's military had been rendered, quote, combat ineffective military.
Has Iran's military been for the last year?
four months combat ineffective.
It's been set back not just years, but likely decades.
Mr. Secretary, you stated we had, quote, achieved every single objective.
Was that an accurate statement four months ago?
The main objective of this was to ensure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.
Early in the conflict on day three.
Mr. Secretary, early in the conflict, day three, you said one of those core objectives
was to, quote, destroy the missile threat.
And as you restated on day five, to, quote, obliterate Iran's missiles
in drones. Those were clearly and repeatedly stated core objectives of the campaign,
which four months ago you declared had been completed victoriously with every single objective
achieved. Were those objectives achieved four months ago? No one ever stated that every single missile
was gone. You stated on March 8th, day nine of the war on 60 minutes, you assured the American
people of Iranians surrender. Does that remain your prediction? Ultimately, Iran will never have a nuclear
weapon to threaten the United States of America. That has been the objective and it remains so.
So just to review, you will not answer whether your statement made on the 14th day of the war that
Iran's military had been, quote, destroyed and made combat ineffective was a truthful statement
to the American people as you sit here and ask for 10 civilians more for the conflict.
The senator's time has- Has-
been a historic and effective military campaign against the largest state sponsor of terrorism.
Won't answer the question.
That's the person that's running the Pentagon, Phil.
That should scare all of us.
You know, that was so ridiculous.
And you see, the last sentence was beautiful.
The largest state sponsor of terrorism is Iran.
No, no, it's not.
It's the United States and Israel.
And, you know, the whole thing that he came out
with was a perversion of the truth where if he had stood it on its head, it would have made
more sense than what he came out with.
Clearly, what the Iranians are doing terrible damage to U.S. bases in the Gulf region day after
day, since the MOU broke down at the volition of Mr. Trump, obviously is not actually
occurring. We were not seeing that. It's been all destroyed. They had maybe one missile left.
This guy should be fired immediately together with Mike Huckabee, and, you know, we should withdraw
from the region and say, hey, guys, we're going to leave you all alone now, and you'll be a lot
better off. Has Secretary Hegset ever explained how the United States military repeatedly bombed a
girl's school and killed 168 students and faculty? No, apparently that's collateral damage that
we warmongers are expected to understand. I mean, it's just like this is happening
for these, you listen to Hexeth,
and it's like there's something happening
in some fantasy universe somewhere,
and he's trying to explain it,
but the fact is none of this,
none of this makes any sense,
and the biggest thing that doesn't make any sense
is the fact that we have attacked Iran,
the way we have,
and so on and so forth,
if there was anything that could guarantee
that Iran would move towards developing nuclear weapons, that would be it.
So we did the precise reverse thing that we should have done, which was to negotiate,
and instead we've created a situation where Iran and other nations in that area are all
going to be thinking of going nuclear.
Here's what the man who signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the Palace of Versailles recently wrote.
From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz,
whether it be by missile, rocket, drone, or any other device or weapon,
the United States will bomb and destroy one bridge or power plant, including those locations.
next to or in the capital city of Tehran.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, President Donald J. Trump.
He's threatening war crimes, is he not?
He's promising a war crime, which is, you know, this is frightening.
They don't seem to understand that there are long established,
certainly since the Second World War, standards for war.
what constitutes legitimate military response or behavior or the use of force in certain situations.
And these are not them.
And the irony, of course, was the United States was one of the nations that basically collaborated to produce these standards of what we could do in war.
And now we've had a bunch of clowns, Republican and Democrat,
Joe Biden was just,
Joe Biden in some ways was even worse because he hid all this stuff.
And these people should be themselves up for trial with the international criminal court.
And hopefully we will be arresting Bibi Netanyahu if he comes to New York in the next couple months.
But Donald Trump has done his best to make sure that cannot happen to his.
best friend and closest ally,
Rebeat Netanyahu, the genocide team.
The one that the whole world hates, according to Trump.
Right.
Same guy.
In regards from our friend Gerald Salenti, I was with him this morning
and told him that you and I would be together,
and of course he smiled and sent you his best.
Well, let me for the audience just make sure they read what my shirt says.
Free America from Israel.
And I bought this on Amazon.
Wow.
Wow.
I'm surprised Amazon sells such a seditious piece of clothing as that.
They will be charged with treason by the Trump administration.
God, maybe we shouldn't laugh.
Rupert is sleeping through all of us, Phil, over your left shoulder.
Yeah.
Thank you, my dear man.
I've been off for two weeks, as you know. It's a pleasure to be back with you.
I know the audience loves you, and we'll look forward to seeing you again next week.
I look forward to it. Thank you.
Thank you. Coming up tomorrow, Thursday, at 8 in the morning from Tehran,
