Thank you. Hi, everyone. Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom.
Today is Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024.
Phil Giraldi joins us now.
Phil, thanks very much for joining us. You have been, since we started this show, the voice of reason and sanity on many matters involving the intelligence community.
You're now becoming the behavior of the Netanyahu government continues to astound and the West's indif the two latest developments. One is the killing,
the murder of seven food aid workers who were hunted down for an hour and a half,
whose vehicles were clearly marked but bombed by the Israelis nevertheless. The other is the Israeli destruction of what is actually
Iranian sovereign real estate, which is the Iranian consulate adjacent to the Iranian embassy
in downtown Damascus, Syria. Let's start with the food workers first. One of them was an American.
I haven't heard a peep from Tony Blinken. Have you?
No, nor from the president, apart from an expression of outrage and heartbreak, he said.
You know, this is the typical crap that comes out when a politician wants you
to believe something that he doesn't care about. And these people were, the listeners should really
engage themselves to read a detailed account of how this killing took place. And there was a good
one on anti-war today, and there have been a couple of
others floating around i think uh mondo weiss had a very good one too but these guys had coordinated
their visit to this food warehouse where they were going to drop off food and other supplies
with the israeli army and the israeli army told them we give you permission to do this and that you go along this
route and you will be safe now what happened was they went along that route and far from being safe
as they were coming back out of the warehouse they were attacked by an Israeli lethal drone, which destroyed the first car out of the three.
And then as the survivors tried to flee and get into the second car to get away, they destroyed that car.
And then the same scenario played out with the third car where they killed him this was deliberate killing of a targeted killing of people who had
actually cooperated with the israeli authorities to make this happen so they could deliver their
food supplies and everything to the people who were starving and the israelis deliberately
cold-bloodedly killed them uh the chief of staff is talking about it today in Israel and saying
something to the effect, oh, there were communications problems. Yeah, there sure were.
Here's, this will raise your blood pressure. Here's Admiral Kirby on this. Cut number one, Chris.
Thanks, Admiral. On the death of those World Central Kitchen Aid workers, which includes one American who was killed, Netanyahu's reaction was, quote, it happens in war. What is your reaction to that comment from Netanyahu?
I don't think it'd be useful for me to get into a tit-for-tat here with the Prime Minister of Israel from the podium.
How can you take Netanyahu at his word? As Nancy was saying, this was a deconflicted zone. They had marked their car, they had even coordinated their movements with the IDF?
Mr. Yeah, and as I said in my opening statement,
obviously, setting aside this incident,
because this isn't the first one.
There are issues of de-confliction
that clearly need to be fleshed out and improved.
The Press So how can the U.S. continue to send aid
to Israel without any conditions?
Yes, they have a right to do that.
Mr. We're not sending aid to Israel.
We're sending aid into Gaza.
And that's...
How can the U.S. continue to send military aid to Israel
without any conditions? Is there no red line?
You know, we've had this discussion, you and me,
quite a bit from up here.
These are verbal urgings, verbal commitments.
There's no other incentive besides the urging.
I know. You want us to hang some sort of condition over their neck.
And what I'm telling you is that we continue to work with the Israelis
to make sure that they are as precise as they can be
and that more aid's getting in, and we're going to continue to take that approach.
And what I'm telling you is that we continue to work,
excuse me, if you're looking down, Phil, I'm reading this verbatim from the transcript,
continue to work with the Israelis to make sure that they are as precise as they can be. That is
hogwash. That is a lie, General, excuse me, Admiral Kirby. Kirby must be familiar with the federal statutes that prohibit American
military aid to countries that commit war crimes or practice genocide or even violate international
law, whether it's a war crime or not. I'm sick of these people. I don't know how anybody can
accept anything that comes out of their mouths. This fellow, Kirby, the Admiral, Jake Sullivan,
or Tony Blinken, the president, nobody knows what he's talking about yeah kirby is is the worst of a lot i mean how he got to be an admiral
um i'll never know maybe uh maybe he bribed his way to the top but anyway he's an idiot
the uh he keeps saying that uh that israel is providing no evidence whatsoever that they're committing any war crimes or misusing any of the weapons that we provide them with.
And this is a lie.
This is a flat out lie.
There are plenty of witnesses, plenty of testimony to what Israel has been up to.
And so he's constantly on the defensive, defending Israel. He said in a couple of his recent presentations that there's not even any discussion of in any way putting pressure on Israel in the only fashions that Israel would respond to, meaning cutting off money or cutting off weapons.
But, yeah, we continue to have discussions with them.
I mean, this man is a moron.
And the fact is that the whole administration is wrapped up into this.
They're trying to pretend that they're humanitarian leaning, that they really feel bad about these people that were killed, that were targeted and killed.
And we really feel bad about them, but they're not going to do anything about it
uh it's just some it's this is a nightmare that we're living in right now i know i've said this
too many times probably in the past but this is unimaginable what is going on here and what is
what the israelis are getting away with and and what this administration is getting away with.
And let's be fair about this.
There are plenty of Republicans who are coming out with the same kind of nonsense.
About let's finish a thing, let's nuke them, let's kill all of them.
Two Republican congressmen, I don't remember their names.
One, about two weeks ago, we ran the clip.
Medea Benjamin was approaching him in a hallway, and he said, kill them all.
And then he tried to backtrack.
But yesterday, this character, I don't know his name, another one, said, nuke them. This is just simply outrageous that a person who writes the laws would make a statement like this. Haaretz is reporting that since October 7th, Phil, before we get into the
assault on the consulate in Damascus, that the IDF has stolen 6,000 acres of land.
Stolen 6,000 acres of land. Are they planning new settlements in that land already during a war?
Yes, they are. And this is land on the West Bank, obviously, which was by the legal dispositions
that created the Israeli state. This was supposed to be part of the Palestinian state. And this has
been eroding and eroding and eroding ever since that time,
75 years ago. And now they've just, I mean, this is just terrible PR, if not anything else,
on the part of the Israelis, that the fact that they're stealing this land and it's being reported
in the international media, while they're also destroying the last functioning hospital in Gaza and killing as many
as a thousand people and now killing these aid people that are there to help keep people from
starving. This is just awful. I mean, who is thinking these things through in terms of what
is Israel going to look like after this is all over
and what is the rest of the world going to think about Israel and what are they going to do about
it so McGregor uh tells us that the rage amongst Arabs and other Muslims in the Middle East is
palpable boiling over almost to the point where their leaders like the president of Egypt,
the president of Turkey, the king of Jordan, even the mullahs in Iran may be forced,
independent of the attack on Iran, may be forced to do something. But where is the rage in the West? Why isn't there rage in London and Paris and Berlin and Buenos Aires and New York and Chicago
and Los Angeles?
Where is the outrage in the West at what is happening in Gaza?
Well, the simple answer to that is because our so-called leaders, our politicians,
I could probably think of a more scurrilous word than that,
and also the media,
is pretty much under the control of the Jewish lobby.
And they have been for a while.
And so the stories coming out are basically sympathetic to Israel.
I think I read four stories today about these recent incidents, and every single one of
them in the first or second paragraph cited the so-called fact that Hamas attacked Israel on
October 7th and killed 1,500 Israelis and took 250 more prisoners. This goes into every article
that goes out as the principal fact why this is all
taking place. But of course, we know the story is a whole lot more complicated than that.
But the people are not getting it. And the politicians are being led by the nose. They're
terrified. They want to win this next election, and Biden and Trump will do whatever it takes. And if that
means that kissing Israel is behind, Netanyahu is behind, they'll do it.
Before we move over, well, actually, let me ask you first, and then we'll do this. We had
Dennis Kucinich on the other day. Boy, do I hope he gets returned to Congress and can say on the
floor of the House, I know they don't give many speeches in the House, it's not like the Senate, but I hope he can fire up the
House of Representatives the way he did our audience here. We'll get to Dennis in a minute.
What does Netanyahu, what do the brain trust around him think their goal is or their accomplishments are by murdering these two Iranian generals,
killing five Iranian workers, killing seven people in the streets, and destroying
the Iranian consulate on sovereign Iran land, you know the way that works, in the middle of Damascus?
Well, first of all, I believe the death toll on that attack is now 54.
Wow, I didn't know that, Phil. My numbers are dated. Thank you for the correction. Please
continue. That's the number I think I saw yesterday. But the fact is that Israel wants and intends to start a war that will involve the United States in the destruction of Iran.
I think it's that simple.
And I think Doug McGregor would probably agree with me on that point.
They've been attacking Syria, which is not at war with Israel and has not attacked Israel, I believe 54 times
in the last three months, and killing people on many of the occasions. And now this one is the
most provocative attack of all, because as you say, it involves the Iranian embassy,
the Iranian consulate general in Damasascus capital of syria and it
it killed a large number of people they're hoping that iran will do something to react
and guess what the good old u.s of a will get into it certainly on the side of israel and that's
where they hope this is going to go. And that's what's really
dangerous about this situation. And that's why these politician airheads that we have in Washington
aren't being a lot more careful about how they play this game. And bear in mind also,
something that I've mentioned four or five times, is that Israel is a nuclear power.
Now think of that. Iran is not a nuclear power. Syria is not a nuclear power. And Israel is a nuclear power. Now think of that. Iran is not a nuclear power.
Syria is not a nuclear power.
And Israel is a nuclear power.
It is seeking to, in my mind, establish its dominance in the entire region
and destroy Iran in the process.
I want you to listen to what Denis Kucinich had to say about this yesterday.
You will appreciate his colorful language, which is close to rivaling yours, Professor Giraldi.
We have all the elements for World War III here.
And the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus is clearly an act of war against Iran.
It is a violation of international law.
And at this point, the Netanyahu government doesn't care about international law.
As far as they're concerned, there is no international law.
They are now a rogue government.
And what's happening, you know, they've destroyed the El Shifa hospital.
They've killed about 33,000 Palestinians and more, injuring countless people.
They're driving a famine in Gaza right now, killing at least seven aid workers who were only there for the world's central kitchen to give people food.
I mean, when you look at this, and the United States is financing this.
We are paying for it.
Our taxpayers are paying for this.
I do not want to see any of our sons and daughters
from this country sent into a conflict
that we're being dragged into by Netanyahu
and his people in the Likud.
It is time that we took a stand for American interest.
It is not in our interest to go into World War III.
It is not enough.
If Netanyahu wants to have an expanded war, he should be told, pal, you're on your own.
Kucinich is right, but I can't imagine Biden or Blinken saying to Netanyahu, pal, you're on your own.
Right. I can't imagine it either. And Dennis
hit all the nails on the head. That was really impressive. And let me cite another example of,
I was just writing an article today, and I resurrected the account of this alleged
congressman from the state of Florida, Brian Mast.
Now, this was the guy who was running around in the House buildings in an Israeli army uniform.
Can that be lawful?
Well, I'm sorry.
Stunning.
How did this guy ever get a security clearance, first of all?
And Mast made a comment.
He said something to the effect of, Israel is my great love, and I will always stand beside her.
Now, this is a U.S. congressman saying he's always going to stand by a foreign country.
And what about the united states if israel has a prior interest
he's going to stand by israel that's what he's saying i believe he's also a military veteran
phil i'm not certain oh yeah he's a u.s veteran too he was in the u.s army and i believe in
afghanistan but um uh the point is that this is a guy running around in the uniform of a foreign
army and representing that he loves that country so much that he will always stand by it. That's
a congressman for the United States of America. What do you think Iran will do in response to
the destruction of the consulate and the killing of 54 people, including two
generals? Measured, or is Bibi going to get his war? I wish I knew the answer to that. I think
Iran will feel compelled to do something. It might consist of going the Houthi route and going after Israeli shipping or that sort of thing. But then,
of course, the Israelis will react and they will escalate. That's what I'd be afraid of.
And Iran is very conscious of this. Their leadership is not as stupid as our government leadership. And they're aware of how there are
consequences to actions, unlike our White House seems to realize. So this is a tricky,
tricky game being played. But Iran will respond. But I'm not sure what that will consist of? Transitioning over to Ukraine, the Speaker of the House of Representatives,
Chris can put it up on the screen, it's the headline of a New York Times article,
claims that he has worked out some kind of a deal for $61 billion to Ukraine,
which incidentally includes some sort of a natural gas benefit to
Louisiana, where he's from, but that's the way politics works. When he was Congressman Johnson,
he opposed aid to Ukraine. Now that he's in the leadership of the House of Representatives, he's in favor.
There it is.
Johnson outlines plan for Ukraine aid.
House could act within weeks.
Now, he may be jeopardizing his position as Speaker of the House.
I don't know.
I don't know what's going to happen in those internecine wars.
But what good will, even if this passes, Phil, what good will this aid do to Ukraine?
They don't need cash.
They need human beings, which they don't have.
Yeah, and as Larry Johnson would put it, they need trained human beings to fight a war, which they don't have doubly.
So this is a farce acting out again. A guy like Johnson is willing to take $61 billion of taxpayers' money and throw it down the toilet just because it suits whatever his political ambitions seem to be.
This is outrageous.
I'm just hoping we have, you know, we do have an election coming up in November.
I'm hoping that we will see something happen that will enable voters to repudiate both parties in terms of their willingness to go to war just to prove points and not to benefit in any way the American people.
In fact, the more wars you fight, the less you're going to benefit the American people.
That's axiomatic.
Your friend and mine, Gerald Zalenti, always likes to say, when all else fails, they take you to war.
Well, we know that.
President Macron's approval ratings are down in the mid to high 30s, and he's talking about sending French troops to
Ukraine. I mean, isn't it insane for him to send French troops to Ukraine? Isn't it ridiculous for
the EU to lend? They really think it's going to be paid back $100 billion to the government
of Ukraine? Don't they recognize that Russia has effectively defeated NATO, and the longer they prolong
that moment of recognition, the more Ukrainian destruction there will be and the more Ukrainian
deaths there will be. I guess their goal is to push this recognition beyond November of 24,
so that this collapse does not happen on Joe Biden's watch prior to the campaign.
Yeah, I suppose.
And I'm not really sure what the schedule is for elections are in those countries themselves,
but I'm sure they have political games that are mapped out in their heads
that they are following to accomplish one thing or another.
But the whole thing is that we've lost the whole sense of, you and I understand, you know,
ancient history and how the Greeks and Romans developed a democracy and republicanism and that kind of thing.
We've kind of lost the whole focus of that kind of thing, that the governments
were basically instituted by the people to serve the interests of the nation, to serve the interests
of the people in it. And we've gotten this whole kind of government by elites who no longer
understand any of these principles and are really out for whatever they can get out of it.
If I could take you from the big picture to the granular for a minute,
have your sources informed you of any evidence of CIA, MI6, Mossad, I think it's called SKB, the Ukrainian intelligence, fingerprints on the Moscow
concert hall attack? Well, I'm probably hearing a lot of the same things you're hearing, that
until we see, I believe this is the best judgment on this right now, that until we see the evidence that the russians have obtained in
their investigation uh which led them to say that they felt or they believed that ukraine was
involved in it uh we won't really know what the bits and pieces are as of right now uh we know
some of the some of the things that have been revealed, but there are certainly many things, most things that we don't know yet.
I would like to see the Russians come a lot cleaner on what they've learned, and then we can make a better judgment.
Phil Giraldi, a pleasure, my dear friend.
No matter what we're talking about, a lot of the comments about Rupert, every time he moves, people notice that he's so
lovable. My little Chris is right here waiting for D-I-N-N-E-R. God forbid I say the word
aloud, he'll be all over me. But thank you, Phil. Thank you for all your insight. Thank you for
your time. We'll see you again next week. Okay, thank you. Of course. Bye-bye. Bye.
A very interesting day coming up for you tomorrow, Thursday.
Scott Ritter, 11.30 in the morning Eastern.
