Hi everyone, Judge Andrew Napolitano here for Judging Freedom. Today is Tuesday, May 31st, 2022. It's about 1235 or 1240 in the afternoon. and I on the right of individuals to keep and bear arms who say to me that only the police
know how to use guns and only the police should use them. Well, a tragic example, but with a happy
ending, occurred in Charleston, West Virginia last week, just two days after the tragic slaughter in
Uvalde, Texas, where a large group of people were attending a neighborhood
party, and a crazy guy showed up with an AR-15. That's a very strong rifle. It's not an assault
weapon, but it's a rifle that's very accurate, and the rounds are large, so they kill.
This guy started shooting a woman at the party, lawfully owning and lawfully carrying her handgun, crouched down and took him out with two shots and shot him dead.
The police in Charleston, West Virginia, are proclaiming this woman as an American hero.
She lawfully owned the gun.
She lawfully carried it. She knew how to
use it. Instead of running away from this creep, she used it, and she saved the lives of God only
knows how many people. Look, the world is not so happily arranged that the best outcomes result from tragic events. But this is an example where that happened,
where a potential tragedy was forestalled because a courageous woman exercised her right to keep
and bear arms in a state where that right is recognized and not impaired. And she took this creep out long before the police could
get there, and thanks be to God, long before he could kill anybody, which was obviously his
intended goal. Sometimes the Second Amendment works. Judge Napolitano for judging freedom.
