Starting point is 00:01:49 You'll be addicted and addicted to Scoop. Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. We have one of my very good friends and one of your favorite juicy scoop. as well as her own great podcast. It's Kate Casey from Reality Life with Kate Casey. She is a writer. She's a mother of five. She is a blonde, blue-eyed delight. Welcome. Thank you. So fun to always have you on the show. Let's get into it. But first, as the kids say, I'm here to give you your flowers. Oh. Because our girl is a published writer in Vanity Fair. this is so amazing. You had told me that you were working on this and then to see that it was
Starting point is 00:02:46 chosen and published. And it was something that we talked about on juicy crimes every Wednesday, please subscribe, tell a friend. You can watch it on YouTube as well. Was the story of Martha Moxley, who was a teenage girl who was found legend to death? How many years ago? 50 years or 45? A little over 50. She was killed on October 30th, 1975. And there was a Kennedy family tie to the two brothers that were involved. And you just really got involved in. And you love to do deep dive kind of psychological stuff, which is what we talk a lot about. Yeah. So, you know, society versus end psychology of what makes someone do something in being that this was so long ago is a really interesting angle that you took. We want everyone to go read it, of course. But can you just tell us a little bit about the kind of unique take of this story that has been told many times, been on date lines and things?
Starting point is 00:03:48 Well, in reflection, because I did two episodes about it, I thought a lot about how the prosecutors, the defenders, the judge, a lot of the reporters, most of the reporters, almost all of the reporters that covered it were all men. and I wanted to revisit her diary entries to make sense of how she was feeling in the weeks before she was murdered. And as I began going through the diary entries, which were used as evidence of the trial, it made me realize how much Martha is just like every 15-year-old who's the same for my mom in 1963, the same for me. It's also the same for my daughters now about how girls are often trying to manage the emotional labor of men around them who were expected to sort of navigate their emotions over our own. So in her case, the evening that she gets murdered, she goes to a neighbor's house, the Skakel
Starting point is 00:04:45 house. And in the weeks before she's murdered, you see in the diary entries that there are two brothers of the seven siblings who have some sort of interest in her. cousins. These boys are cousins. Of the Kennedys. Of the Kennedys. First cousins. So their mother, excuse me, their father was the sibling of Ethel Skakel Kennedy, who was Robert Kennedy's sister or wife, hello. So anyway, they live across the street.
Starting point is 00:05:16 And in the weeks that before she gets killed, she's writing about how they're both vying for her attention. and the one the younger brother is basically saying to her, well, you like my brother? And she says, no, I don't. And then he's getting angry with her. And at one point, she writes, I shouldn't go over to the house anymore. And I realized that in the trial and all of the other reporters that have covered it,
Starting point is 00:05:40 they say, well, she kept going back to the house. But I sort of thought that was a metaphor for what girls' experience in terms of social life and men, is that, or boys, is that if she didn't go back to the house, that was the center of all social activity in her neighborhood. Right. Back then, people didn't have, you know, weren't watching TV all day and computers and so you really were out. All day long, come back, you know, I'm not concerned. We all joke about our generations being able to like ride bikes and our parents
Starting point is 00:06:14 didn't know we were where we were and all that. So of course you were going to even not, you know, hang out with these people that were across the street, yeah. Yeah. So she does go back and then she ultimately has to go home to make curfew. And in between the time that she's at their house to going back to her house, she gets bludgeon to death with a golf club in her backyard. That golf club was traced back to the neighbor's house. The skatecoal house. So the article revisits the diary entries, but I think for every girl that's reading it, they're going to see themselves in it. And I would hope that in time, people have a better understanding of the way how unfair it is, how girls are often seen as
Starting point is 00:06:59 like they're playing men with their children. I mean, that was the thing about Martha, that people would say, well, she got her braces off and she was kind of feeling herself. She's a child. You know what's so interesting, you know, too, is when I, in doing juicy crimes and and visiting like older crimes, classic crimes, or even ones that I've worked on, there has been certain things that I was like, wait a minute, if there was, if the defense had women on it, they'd realize that as a mother of, you know, even if you think the person did it, one that I always talk about is that this woman was accused and convicted of planning her husband's murder where her boyfriend went and killed him.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah. And it happened the night before the first day of school for her elementary aged kids. And I'm like, I just don't think you'd plan it for that day. No, too stressful. Did she maybe realize later he was involved possibly? But did she plan that? Like, that's what I, and, you know, again, I just don't, sometimes you just need a woman. Yeah, you need a woman to like look at that point of view that even the greatest,
Starting point is 00:08:11 you know, prosecutor or a defense attorney that's a male can do a great job. But I mean, it's great to, just like our writer's room wants different perspectives, you know, when I was writing on a late night talk show for Kenan Bruins, he wanted a female, a white female's point of view because it's like, well, we've got this point of view of the guys, we have that, but what would a woman think of this particular joke? Like, where would they come from it? So, so great that you did that. Thank you. So congratulations. Speaking of incredible writers, we have to read it. Tell me everything. Tell me everything. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Unburdened, baby. This meant so much to me. Are there pictures in it? There are. There are pictures. We get into everything. You know, I was a child of the world. I traveled. I spoke many languages, which I will say, very impressive. I think she is very bright. I do think she's a good vocabulary. Yes, she had a ghostwriter, but I think a lot of this is herself. I don't know if the ghostwriter just helped her place it together. But as someone who searches for juicy scoop as my life's work, there is no juice, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Very little juice. If you want to know some of the things about her life that you wouldn't have otherwise known, like the background, how did she end up in Europe? She was engaged twice and broke them off. Okay. She speaks very highly of PK, a lot of it, of how genius he is, what an entrepreneur he is. One thing that's interesting that I do think, as I read it, I was like, and I still don't think this is new news, is that he got, he got, so they moved, they were living in New York and he's like, come on, baby, let's go to Los Angeles. And she's like, you'll never get me out of this city. And they end up in Beverly Hills.
Starting point is 00:10:06 and right around that time he meets boy George and is like, you don't need a music manager. You just, you're a brand. And so then he's like, come live with us so that I can get to know you better and everything. And sorry to bring this up, but he had a boy George has a pretty traumatic past. I've interviewed him. I mean, doing, I mean, he was basically accused of having a man and like trapping him in a house and abusing him. went to prison for him and he would talk about it. He does talk about it. So, okay, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:41 but anyway, that's fine. He's forgiven in the court of law in England and I guess here in Beverly Hills. So anyway, he comes, lives with them in the house. And then P.K., who has said in his interviews, and she says it too, he talked to someone who said, the only way to make it in L.A. is through power, money, or fame. Right. And the money was always coming and going. There was always, you know, millions here and millions there and bankruptcy. And, you know, again, I don't understand how someone that juggles bankruptcy and all that then will still fly private and blow, you know, $70,000 in a private flight and things like that. But okay.
Starting point is 00:11:22 So he brings in. Or maybe he just knows wealthy people. So he gets like hitches a ride. Well, this at their wedding, they all flew private back to L.A. and then said, let's drop off Jagger. And we went to Las Vegas for a few days. And they decided last minute, like, you went up to the cockpit and was like, change of plans. Good Lord. Wow.
Starting point is 00:11:43 And yeah. And I'm like, I think she was very much sucked into this very wealthy world and didn't want to know where the money was coming and if there was enough. Interesting because I think a lot of people do the same. It's, yeah, who wants? Like Ruth Madoff was probably like, who gives a shit? We're going to have like lobster and go to on the con. cord. Yeah, and everybody else's husband goes from office every day and doesn't ask him what he's doing. So why should I? Totally. So they did a little pilot of like, you know, and you could see it almost sounds like. For just them. Them is a couple. Yeah, it almost sounds like a bad 90 sitcom. I'm like, what do you do when boy George moves in with an English guy and two babies and, you know, or she just had a baby or was pregnant.
Starting point is 00:12:27 So boy George was, I didn't know this, he was part of the pilot. He was definitely part of it. Well, that to me would be the cell. was the secondary, like, she was like, I just did this because P.K. asked me to do. I didn't want to be in the limelight. I just thought, okay, it'll be the P.K. Yeah. And Boy George show. And I'm like, you know, walking around with the babies, whatever. I think Boy George would have been a sell for me. I would have watched that show. So anyway, somebody in pitching and around. And, you know, very, similarly, Margaret Joseph's had a couple pilot opportunities, you know, that took her to Malibu. And, you know, boo and it was about her business and whatever. And we know that like,
Starting point is 00:13:07 did this happen at Bose too? Did she have this too? I feel like, maybe she did. I mean, this thing is it's casting. A lot of people are on the same thing. So they might have seen your reel or do you know how many housewives were on say yes to the dress? Too many to count. Unbelievable. So whoever that person is, you know, was like, this is a freak. Let me call over Bravo. Like this chick has a weird family. I mean, it's a perfect time to see the family and everything. To see the anime, see how wealthy you are all of it. They need to get a little extra cash to say yes to the dress team. So yeah, Dina Manzo was on it. Megan King Edmonds was on it. Because if you get the wife swap aspect of it,
Starting point is 00:13:46 you kind of know like what their family dynamics are, but you know that they have enough money to buy either a Panina Tournay dress or something else. The wife's swap. You mean the say yes to the dress? Say yes to the dress. You are getting inside like how much money. You want the rich people. Right. Yeah. And she says everything on marrying this person. I'm third wife, but we're excited. You get the whole scoop in one second. For the good people listening who have watched a lot of episodes to say yes to the dress, it's a shoe in if they wear pinina tournay because that was the dress designer that was
Starting point is 00:14:15 always like the bride that would go, I kind of want to look like slutty. And it would be like boning with like just sort of lace, but like see through with like a yeah. And you would. So whenever there was a brother that was like, I want some pinina tournay. I was like, oh, she's like ready to get down. That's a look that's kind of maybe. sailed or whatever. Thank God. So anyway,
Starting point is 00:14:37 someone sees it and is like, perfect. Totally. And so then they reach out and then she goes to it. She didn't think she'd get it. She got it. And so then she, you know, that's, I mean, she talks about the, you know, how scary it was, the robbery and everything. And talks about Pantigate. Okay. talks about puppy gate. I mean, in retrospect, Panny Gate is so stupid. But none of it is anything that she didn't already say on the show.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Okay. It was never like, you know, in retrospect, I was actually trying to be a bitch. Like just something. Nothing. It was always like, yeah. Like somebody did this to me and this is where we are? No, it's just a lot. It's very long-winded.
Starting point is 00:15:25 It's very dire. And whenever they'd, like, fall asleep or enter and they'd be like, and then act all tired about it, I'd be like, because we're watching. the edited version. We did not have to suffer through the entire four-hour lunch. I feel like if you had been on that reunion couch, you would have just gotten up and
Starting point is 00:15:42 oh, for God's sake, I can't listen to this anymore. I mean, I just think people I just always thought they were being so impatient when the book reads like that. Like when she goes to meet P.K., I'm like, okay, this is kind of exciting. You know, the basic love of your life, how did you guys meet?
Starting point is 00:15:59 Well, they met at a restaurant bar club thing. She and her girlfriend were waiting to get, we're at the bar sitting there. And, you know, these guys came behind and was like, hey, we'll buy a drink if you can get us one. Okay? And one was P.K. That's the story. This is how the story gets told. Oh, Jesus. All right. Here we go. I was meeting a businessman for a meeting who I'd done many things with in the fashion industry. And we were going to a beautiful restaurant. Ne, I'm just making a play. Leblah, blah, blah. And Leblah, blah, blah, has rich woods.
Starting point is 00:16:33 and is known for their stake or something. Right. Then he said, my cousin is in town. Do you mind if he joins us? So I'm like, oh, that's how she met PK. PK's the cousin. Then it's like, oh. And then I said, we'll all bring my girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And afterwards, we had a great meeting. A lot was had. A lot was said. And then I said, now that the meeting is done, why don't you, my girlfriend and I go to this other club. And it was still early enough to get it. Anyway, that's when she finally meets him. So I'm just like there's just things like that.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Right, right, right. That I feel like, land the plane. There was a little bit of like when you had to write an essay and the computer said, you got to get another, you know, hard words. Right, right, right, right. Yeah. Like a little bit. Got to get the word count up. A little bit.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Well, it does. When you know somebody and you know their whole life and you watch them the 10 years, it's still a fun read. Like, it's still okay. How many pages? It's still okay. Lots of pictures. You know, like 10 pages of pictures. 233.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And, you know, a lot of it is just like, that question isn't an accusation. It's clarity. When you're walking through divorce, you don't have the luxury of tolerating uncertainty in your inner circle. It's constantly like her explaining and reiterating what it's like
Starting point is 00:17:58 to be having conversations on camera and then reliving it and then trying to explain where you're coming from and feeling betrayed by the friendships and wondering if they're doing it to save their own job which she kind of insinuated with the... Okay, so what does she say about Kyle? I mean, just that...

And we still don't know who's coming back. And, oh, but I will say before I forget, Andy had DRET on and somebody, you know, he opens up the cards where who knows if anybody, you know, Melissa from Brown knows Nebraska really wrote this. And he's like, Melissa for Brown-nosed Nebraska asks, are you and Kyle going to be able to mend your friendship? And then before she can answer your. goes, I think you should just leave it. Oh, yeah. Wow. Okay. And I was like, we all know, if you're going to stay on the show, you better stay friends. Right. As much as you want to say,
Starting point is 00:20:11 I never want to talk to that bitch again. And if you weren't on TV, guess what, you wouldn't. Yeah. And you wouldn't see them in your neighborhood. And maybe you'd see them at a funeral or a wedding. But you'd avoid that bitch, okay? You wouldn't go. But he said that. And she's like, no, I think there's, you know, a long history. We've been friends. for 10 years. I would be hoping that we could get to a better place. Oh my God. Just explaining this to me, my head hurts. And I'm like, yeah. I mean, she really cannot lose this job. The house is going up if it hasn't already. No, but she has said, even if she lost the job, she makes enough money. She has said that. Okay. But I'm not saying she lives on planet Earth. I'm just saying that's what she says. She doesn't, it's not a plastic surgeon. You know what I mean? It's not like
Starting point is 00:20:59 It's not like she has a plastic surgeon and, you know, she's got 2,040-year-old clients that are going to need work for the next 20 years and aren't going to leave you. Like it's, you know, so I would hope that she could say. Do you think there's a possibility that she ends up moving into an apartment of Recita and has to wear clothing from Coles? Like, is that ever going to happen? Never. Never. So she'll just meet somebody rich. She, first of all, I don't think she's gotten herself out there and she better start. You got her start trying to meet somebody. Or if she doesn't, she can make it work.
Starting point is 00:21:34 She is a famous person. She has a huge Instagram following. She's just going to really have to hustle it. She's going to have to find some products or something that she can like really push in the fashion world. Okay. That plant, I want you to imitate Doreet doing some sort of event where she has to sell like the product. Okay, go ahead. Everybody always asks me, Doreet, how do you keep suggesting?
Starting point is 00:22:01 beautiful items around your house that look real. And that is why I have teamed up with Plants Be Me. Plants Be Me looks so real that people absolutely walk over with a watering can. And I go, no, no, no, it's fake, mind you. No need to water it. And that's why I want to share with all of you that plants be mine is something that it's really more of a spirituality, mind you. It keeps you going. It keeps you thinking. I wake up in the morning and I see Phoenix and Jaggard. I look over to the plant and I said, where one seed can grow, a fake one can live forever. And it's not bad to have fake. There's plenty of real outside. But what's inside, can live as you grow spiritually.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Your plant doesn't have to grow. You don't have to trim it because it's not real in the sense that it could die. Oh, my God. That's what it is. But please, plants be mine call her because I don't know where she's going to go. Yeah. She's going from like a 6,000 square foot home to whatever. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Now I want you to imitate her on a date. So she's out on a date. The guy doesn't know anything about her. But do her on, like, tell me a little bit about yourself. Well, I had a very problematic marriage. And excuse me, mind you, with my ex. And he was English. And he would put it in a way, quite honestly,
Starting point is 00:23:51 I realize now I've been gaslit by a narcissist. What? Yes. and, you know, now it's time for me. I always put everyone before me, you know, and as I was shopping and accumulating a million dollars in a four-month shopping spirit, that was for them to feel proud about my product outfit.
Starting point is 00:24:15 It wasn't about me. And that's what my family doesn't get, or anyone around me, mind you, or my inner circle or my dear friends. I thought would support me. Excuse me. I will have a vodka on ice, short glass, three lemons, carcass out. Thank you, baby. He had an alcohol problem and I do not.
Starting point is 00:24:41 You'll see that I'll have one, maybe two, providing how long we enjoy this time together. And anyway, so I was... There you go. Oh, my... Do you think the guy asked her around? for a second date. She's so beautiful. She looks great.
Starting point is 00:25:00 She's very sweet in person. I have hope. I'm nervous about that. Andy Cohen comment. That's pretty telling to me. Because it makes me think that the rumors are true. Yeah. That maybe she wouldn't come back.
Starting point is 00:25:17 And really the reason why is what I've always said is that when you've been on so long, the way the contract works is they really make a lot of money. Yep. They're making over a million. And just like they take a salesman and cut his, you know, area in half or whatever. Yeah. Or tell a CEO to leave. So, and then if you have the reason, this is if she takes a pause break, it will be presented to her as, you know what, three.
Starting point is 00:25:52 The book's doing amazing. you look great going through this time and I just feel like in a year and a half it'll be better. It'll be better. You'll have your maybe you'll be dating someone that we'd love to see and you know this is my bad Andy impression but I don't even, it wouldn't even be Andy that makes the call and be Alex or someone else.
Starting point is 00:26:12 But you know and and just get through this part settle it up, get a good place with P.K. Maybe he can come back on the show and we'd pay him if he needs the money your kids will be older and you know
Starting point is 00:26:27 and just the meantime like just get your stuff settle this you don't want to we don't you don't want the world seeing you having to
Starting point is 00:26:33 struggle and move and fight with your it's not going to behoove you to do that yeah we're going to put you on pause and then and then they'll
Starting point is 00:26:43 get her on traders they'll be like here's a little nugget yeah because it's all peacock and you can be on traders I don't know if they would take her
Starting point is 00:26:53 All right. Well, that's my prediction. But I'm not, I find her interesting to watch. I don't want her to leave. What? Special forces. Oh, my God. That would be, that is, please, please, Doree, if you could ask to do that, this will make the world fall in love with you. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:11 This is Goldie Hawn in Private Benjamin. Yeah. 100%. And I think they've tried to do that with a Teresa or whatever. Teresa's cleaning everyone's toilets. That girl is an Italian. first-born daughter. She didn't give us that.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Derreet will give us this. Oh, my God. I want to see her on the backpack and then she has to go on the tightrope. Yeah. And then they're screaming at her. Remember, they take like the bags off the heads? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:38 And then she can't wear makeup. That might be an issue. But then people would like her more, I think. That's what I'm saying. That would be the thing. Yeah. But you got to stay long in order to really get the benefit. No, you don't.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Tara Reid lasted one day. I don't want to do it. I don't ask me, and I know I'm not at the level, but. I would do it. Okay, good. I don't. That's scary.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Okay, you know what? But you have to go so far too. Yeah. Like, just go to, let's just go to like Bakersfield and do it. Like, I don't want to travel so far. You could actually duplicate it in Baker's Field. I know. Why do we have to go?
Starting point is 00:28:17 Why do you just so far? Yeah. Anyway. Anyway, what don't we do is spin-off called the forces of special people. And we go to Bakersfield and we just do like one day. And it's like one of those mud runs or something. Remember when everyone had to do mud runs? Yes.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Yeah. Why doesn't anyone do mud runs or on reality shows? That was that, those were the yesterday years. First there was a stripper pole. Axe throwing. Then there was mud runs. Then there was escape rooms and axe throwing. Oh, now roll out your cellulite.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Do they did that in OC, right? Roll out the cellulite. What's the latest thing? Just peptides? Well, Salt Lake City, I feel like. Peptides tour. Peptides tour. What are they doing Salt Lake?
Starting point is 00:29:07 Remember they, like, did a hike or something? Oh, no, they went ice fishing and then they got in a bucket of water or something. We've done the ice dips going in the ice thing, and then they realize that's not even good for women's body. Oh, by the way, are we over that yet? Are people still doing that? The cold plunges? Well, they've discovered. Oh, no, the new thing is saunas. No, but they've discovered, thank God I never did. There's nothing that makes me happier than a kind of work exercise or something where I didn't jump on it. And then they realized
Starting point is 00:29:37 it really wasn't that great for you anyway. Yes, yes. Spinning, I believe is never that great. People said they like never lost any weight and just like lost their mind. Because your legs get really And then the ice bass or whatever you call it, pole plunge, is allegedly not great for female bodies. Probably not. It's better for men and inflammation from sports, but for women it's not good. And the saunas are good, which is totally fine with me. I like to sit in a warm sauna. But remember I was trying to get you to get the weighted vest.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Did you ever buy that? I did get the weighted vest. And then I read, yeah, I don't believe it. Can hurt your knees. No, because I asked David. Pollock who played in the NFL, should I do it? And he's super fit. And he said, oh, yeah, that's great.
Starting point is 00:30:20 All right. I still have it. Okay. And I still feel like it's a little bit better. But everyone says really what you should do is definitely walk, but also lift heavy weights. Well, of course. And lift heavier than you ever thought that you could. Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:30:35 And that's the best thing to do for people might. Yeah. Anyway, DeRee, we hope that you come back. Okay. So then Amanda said. And, you know, I thought about maybe I would buy Doreet's house. But, you know, it's so modern and I can't remember the word she said, like, basic. And you need to do renovations.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Yeah, and we'd have to do renovations. And if we, you know, in order to make a profit. And I'm like, not only did you bag on her for this house that's only like six years old new build, which many people would still love to have. It's open. It's clean. It's new. It's pretty.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Then you bagged on it that you would have to renovate it. So anyone that was even thinking about it needs to also think, oh, this look is now out. Yeah. Also, then, you know, let's remind the world that they were robbed at gunpoint. So that's not great for a location. Wait, I think I have an idea. Yes. She should also go on special forces.
Starting point is 00:31:42 And I just want you to picture her with the, like, she, She's never fully committed to the sleeves of a jacket. And she's in the interrogation room with the jacket. But those two on special forces. She does. She does a folding leg. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. And she'll just like, okay, you can ask me something as Amanda. I've never done Amanda really before.
Starting point is 00:32:02 So let me see if I can do her. Okay. Wait, by the way, if she's on special forces and they're screaming at her, she still has to talk about her manifesting business. Oh, of course. Of course. Let's go to that moment. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Tell us about your manifesting business. I'm the money queen. People come to me for that. Some people can think it's not real, but my results show it. With my retention rate and the people that come back for more, they realize that I am there to just guide them to their potential of making money. Why not write and say, if money was not an issue, what would you have and visualize it and write it down and say it? And that, that's, thousands of people don't lie. That's why they keep coming back. And that's why I wrote my latest book, godly as fuck, because God is an aspiration as well. And you might as well go for the number one person in the world. And that's God. And then I'm after that. So then those two former like army or
Starting point is 00:33:11 CIA ages are just sitting there like, what? that to me is good TV that will be so good I wish it just I think it should just be all housewives I know they like to mix it with randoms but I would like to throw in like a Joey McIntyre
Starting point is 00:33:25 from New Kids on the Block with Dorit and with Amanda Francis on special forces I know they like to always mix like yeah mix them up because then there's always some weird like friendship or alliance
Starting point is 00:33:36 yeah like Amanda will become best friends with a rapper or something yeah absolutely all good okay summer house I know we've We've talked a lot about it.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Yeah. But I always like to get, you know, now there's been two episodes of the reunion. We have one more left. We don't really know what that's going to entail. We've covered a lot of it. Some people online, you know, people are saying, okay, maybe they've yelled and beaten her down enough. She's clearly on like a beta blocker.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And people might say, what's a beta blocker? I heard about beta blockers years ago that I'd get. It's so nervous for auditions and an acting teacher said, have you ever thought of a beta block or whatever. Okay. And so there's that type of thing. There's other stuff, whatever. They seem overly calm and then, you know. Calm.
Starting point is 00:34:29 They were boring. She looks like. I said she looks like Carol Ann looking into the light and poltergeist. She's like this. Yeah. You can't do that. You're on a reality show reunion. It's like this is the hot seat.
Starting point is 00:34:40 It's boring. I just don't, listen, I watch the show on and off. I don't really know who Amanda is. What was her life in high school? Why was, you know, did she stay with Kyle to? The thing is, once this is your whole life, it's like Scientology. Right. Everybody you're friends with is a Scientologist.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Truly. Your businesses are involved in Scientology. You're, you know, so this is even a bigger thing because you're married. So that's always a huge thing, no matter if you're famous or not. And you basically have a business together, which is the TV show, the summer house. Yeah. And that's where you know everybody. And it's the only job you've had for 10 years.
Starting point is 00:35:29 And you know it. And you know the routine. And you know, this is when we start this, you know, month before summer. We meet with everybody. We find the house. We find other people. I don't know. Like I think.
Starting point is 00:35:41 I'm going to best explain her this way. She was the girl in elementary school who was always outside on the playground crying and there were a bunch of girls around her. That's who she is. She has zero personality. She's a romantic climber. So every person she's with she takes on their personality and hides behind them. And that gives her access to opportunities. That's it.
Starting point is 00:36:06 And she saw this as an opportunity to date Kyle and to be on this TV show. Like he clearly didn't want to be with anybody. who's like a cad and she's like this dopey girl that shows up like the first season that she's on the show like clearly just want to be on the TV show. And also the last reunion, they basically admitted they have never had sex in their marriage. They've been married for four years. So that's a partnership. That is crazy. Crazy. So do they even have it on their wedding night? I don't think so. So they were not having it before then. No. And so then they did it for the show. Did it for the show, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:43 That's also like your whole life is for the show. Like your whole life is. Kyle to be called out on that. Like, why are you perpetuating this story every season? Like, oh, we're trying to make our marriage work. You're not married. You're just like business partners. Right.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I also think that, you know, there has how many couples have we heard that are married and said, we're friends first. Yeah. So if I'm playing a little bit of a devil's advocate of Amanda in West, it's not insane to think that at one time you were platonic friends until you weren't. And I've talked about in the proximity and work friends and neighbors and all that kind of stuff where people get together and screw and then sometimes they do end up together. Yeah. And there is some criticism for Sierra that's like we understand that, you know, you're angry with Amanda and everything because she was clearly being deceptive and ended up with.
Starting point is 00:37:40 him and it's paid off for her you know she's now the Ariana from um vanderpump but also people like okay this was so she and west never slept together either Sierra and West I think they definitely definitely what is this talk of like we were just making out friends and I'd spend the night I think they've definitely slept together I mean I still think as someone who loves to make out and dry hump and did for a long time I still think you could have very very deep feelings and be obsessed with someone that you just kissed. Like I get that part. Like she went to visit his family.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Like you're not going to do that unless you're sleeping with somebody. I think what the issue at hand, why people get so fired up is imagine you have a friend and you're sharing all the details of the person that you're into or sleeping with. So all the little nuances. It's like she gave her a playbook almost. And then it defined. So like all the information. She did the work and then she gets the benefit of it.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Like Amanda. I think that's the part where it's like, ew, this is so creepy and weird. Yeah. Like if you were like, Kate, oh my God, I love Kevin. Like I'm so into Kevin, we've been hooking up. Okay, so when I go over at his place, this is the kind of thing he does.
Starting point is 00:38:52 And oh, my God, I love it when he does that. And then I met his mom. And then she's like this. And you have to meet his friend. Oh, well, it does depend. And then I start sleeping with Kevin. You'd be like, Kate, what the fuck is going on? And also, like, some girlfriends with each other
Starting point is 00:39:07 are very graphic. Totally. about the sex they have with somebody. But others are not. So I'm curious, was Sierra graphic about why she liked hooking up with West? Yeah. And did she share that? That would also really add to the deception.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Totally. If it was just like, oh my God, I don't know if this guy's into me or not. Like, he's such a game plan. Like, if it was just that, I'd be like, okay, you still have every right to be mad for sure. So then... But wait a minute. Add to that, the person that's involved, Amanda, is married. So sometimes with married people with single people, it's like, well, I know that back in my day when I was single, like she's like this higher level person like, oh, you crazy kids, the dating world just seems crazy these days. And meanwhile, she's sleeping with him. Also, she's like 32 or something. So now the clock is ticking too. Yeah. So you're kind of like, I got to jump, you know, shit or get off the pot. Like I got to like break up with this guy. And yeah, I just think, I think he's just. I think he's, you know, shit or get off the pot. Like, I got to like, you know, shit or get off the pot. And I think. And. And. And. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:09 he's the first guy that she's kissed, really kissed, and gotten together with since before she was married if she never got together with her husband. And to be that young and to have, and to be that hot and be on TV and having people think you're hot, know you're hot, and not being able to explore any kind of sexuality for years, the first time someone like touches you, it might have been like an electric moment. Every season it was like, wow, they seem like they're in a miserable marriage. And then I felt bad for the other people in the house. Like, who wants to go to a sharehouse with like a miserable married couple?
Starting point is 00:40:46 The fighting couple. And then you find out, like, they even had sex in all these years? Like, I would be so mad if I lived in that house. Like, oh my God, this is ridiculous. How can working at your local Tims take you further? Sure, you can level up your teamwork skills. You also get a chance to receive a Tim Horton scholarship award. Ready for what's next?
Starting point is 00:41:05 Apply today at careers.comhottimhorans.ca. Now, Kyle was filmed, because I saw it, doing his DJ thing, and this girl was ahead of him, in front of him, and he leaned over, and it was a romantic kiss. I mean, he must be a love and life. She could be a fan, I don't know, because apparently he's dating the other girl from Southern Charm, Sally. Is she the DJ? Is that someone else? No, she's like, she was. Oh, the blonde girl. She's very cute.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Now on the city, which is a spinoff, this scene was a big deal. So they went in October of 25. They're filming the city. The summer is over. She is finding her own place separate from Kyle. Amanda goes and meets Sierra and West and is like, oh my God, now you guys are friends again. I have my two great friends here. And then the producer, in a confessional goes, now it's May 5th. Can we ask you at that time were you feeling anything romantic for West? And she says no. Yeah, right. We may never know the truth.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Yeah. But if she writes Unburdened 2 by Amanda Batula, yeah. Fucking tell us. Tell, tell, tell us. Yeah. And actually don't write it
Starting point is 00:42:29 unless you are lying to us right now and we can hear the truth and we can hear how it happened. She's got to strike the iron while it's hot. This is what I talked about for Rachel Raquel. I remember we did said that too. And have your podcast be about
Starting point is 00:42:44 mistresses and other women's and affairs and everything. People love the reason this is such a big deal, it's one of my favorite genre of television to film is cheating and infidelity, killing one spouse for their insurance money, all of it. It's like, so whether you end up with West
Starting point is 00:43:03 or not, I don't know if you're a writer, I don't know if you could be a podcaster because what we've seen is I don't think a booming personality but maybe doesn't mean you know everyone has a podcast you can have one too and
Starting point is 00:43:13 see where it's at. Maybe she needs to go to special forces too. People, the good people from Fox we've just cast your show. You're welcome. You're welcome. Now you had some theories about West. Do you think he wants off the show?
Starting point is 00:43:30 I think he wants off. I think he wants off. If he's not fired, I don't know. Okay, so scandal happens in March. Right. Reunion doesn't air till May. They are told, don't talk. Like, of course, because I've had experiences trying to interview these reality stars for many years. Trust me. They do not want them to talk until after the reunion airs because they want to save everything for their reunion. They're getting so much attention. Save it. So they're telling them save it for afterward. So that's a two-month span. Meanwhile, they're getting a deluge of, like, like hate DMs. He's gone up 40,000 followers. I think he's like, I want to control my own life. And he has a podcast. He has said a little bit. I'm sure that they were not happy about that because they want to keep him to keep it for the reunion. The TMZ photos seem to be planted by somebody in his camp or their camp. What TMZ photos? They were like, oh, in Italy? No, way before that, like to
Starting point is 00:44:30 confirm that they were actually dating. Oh. They were at the movie theater or out on the street. I'm like, somebody is working behind the scenes to make sure. And also that Amanda was doing the breadcrumbing. I didn't understand what that meant at first, where she was hinting and letting, so that's kind of diabolical. Diabolical. That he wanted fans to figure it out. And you got off on that.
Starting point is 00:44:50 She's getting a thrill out of it. You get a thrill out of it. She thinks she's Taylor Swift. And, you know, I heard from a juicy scruper who wrote me who said, I was the girl that slept with friends, boyfriends, and things. And on vacation, we were all on vacation together. I would sneak around. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:45:08 And secret stuff. And if she, it's extremely thrilling to be in a deceptive thing. It's like adds to the sexuality of it. She's better now. She realizes she did it wrong. She feels terrible. But it's like, it's like any kind of addiction. Love in.
Starting point is 00:45:29 love addiction, love and sex addiction. I mean, it is something like that. Now, an affair can be one thing, and if you end up together for the rest of your life, and that just, that can happen, you know, it's unusual, but it does happen. I mean, you know, people, their husband leaves them for the girlfriend, and then they are together for the next 30 years, and, you know.
Starting point is 00:45:52 But this is just a mess. Yeah, and when I think about Rachel Raquel, I remember she, said something to the effect about like I at that point when it all got exposed Tom was my only friend in this weird circle no one else would talk to me so then even then I felt like I had to follow the rules a little bit more of what we're saying what we're doing as it was unfolding and then she got away and is out of it and better now but and doing sound bass he works in like in the sports world like he wants I think he wants off this train I think he looks at page and he's like, I don't want to be
Starting point is 00:46:31 one of the cast members that's on this show way too long. I want a page life where I can build other opportunities. And I just think he's so... I feel like he's like, I don't want middle aged women to be like in my DMs all the time. But this is a thing though. He really has become so unlikable.
Starting point is 00:46:48 I don't know what, and I don't know what guys are going to be like, you know, he's not Travis Kelsey who can like get you a Super Bowl. Like he's just some dude that is in, you know, ill-fitting clothes and bites his fingernails. Like, who cares? I don't know. I mean, I think he was one of those things like, oh, who's this sad sack? Who's this ugly piece of shit? Oh, he's kind of a teddy bear. Oh, he's kind of sweet. All right. As Sierra, I'll lower my
Starting point is 00:47:14 standards and be with this, like, loser who's pining for me. And so I'm just saying, like, he's, what now? What now? Because he really, now, other people would think he did, hook himself to Amanda because her star was rising as the scorned woman who left the asshole. Her score was rising. Then with him, it went down along with his. And I don't, but I do think people forgive them, but they're just not really cared about Amanda that much. I mean, they're not, you know, Lucy and Desi Arnaz.
Starting point is 00:47:47 No. It's not like, oh, my God, these two are going to have their own show and they're just such funny delights. I don't know. Maybe, maybe it could be. But we'll see. I've said before, the only way to save this is to have a baby. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:48:02 And stay together forever and then just put your baby on TV and help that they bring in the checks. That would be a good made-for-tTV movie. The couple that has the baby just to like get out of a scandal and then they're stuck with each other with the baby. Well, I mean, it's also like who else in the world would understand their life. But West and Amanda understand what they're in. They're not only in a friend scandal. Anybody else that this happened in a friend group that isn't being televised
Starting point is 00:48:30 would just the friendship would break up. They'd leave the country club. They'd move out of the neighborhood. That's it. You wouldn't fuck with them anymore. You'd forget about them. You'd run into them at Target three years later and it'd be awkward.
Starting point is 00:48:43 And then you'd see their little three-year-old baby and you'd be like, well, say hi to West for me. Then you get in the parking lot. You're like, Sierra, it's Mia. Yes. Who the fuck I ran into. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:48:56 Actually, bitch still is skinny. Shut the fuck up. Yes, she is. Well, whatever. But the kid has Westface. Put a mustache on him. It doesn't even look like her. So you can be happy about that.
Starting point is 00:49:09 You know, and then like, that's it. That's the end of it. Isn't that the great enjoyment of your life? Is the call that you make from the parking lot when you run into somebody from yesteryear? God, that's good. You're never going to believe who I ran into and then like going through every detail. And you're a little shaky. Don't leave anything out.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Yes. Yeah. You're a little shaky. Yeah. You're like 9-1-1. Yeah. Call me ran into blah, blah, blah. Yep, yep, yep.
Starting point is 00:49:32 You need to do it on a phone. Yeah. So good. Well, we'll see what happens. I watched the J-Lo movie. Not the whole thing. I started it. I, with Chris Franjola, had predicted what the storyline was.
Starting point is 00:49:46 And I'm proud to say, no. I'm proud to say and humble to say I was wrong. Wow. Okay. So the story is she is the boss. Okay. What is the name of the movie again? It's called Office Romance because they wanted you to figure it out.
Starting point is 00:50:03 I mean, could you? I'm like, is that a new thing? The creative geniuses. They have to say they have to come up with really basic stuff and they have to like reiterate the storyline because everyone's scrolling all the time. Maybe. Oh, you know what? I think that's probably true. I think Matt Damon did say something like you have to dumb scripts down.
Starting point is 00:50:18 You have to dumb scripts. So it's like, so she runs. an airline. Okay. And, but she's a Nepo baby because her dad was also a pilot. She's a pilot. And they run like a small airline. Oh. Like, let's say it's like what, not Southwest, but whatever. Not even Jets. Pioneer airlines. Pioneer. It's not like a jet suite. Whatever. And, but she's a, you know, but she's a hard ass. Everyone in the office is scared of her. Which is probably very true to her life. Which is a variety of people. There's a girl in a wheelchair that's, you know, running away from her and trying scared, you know, like whatever the case is.
Starting point is 00:50:55 All right. And she, um. That must have been a real stretch for her. So, yeah. To play a character like that. And so, you know, the day starts and everyone's bustling around. Yeah. Sun Cruise Airlines.
Starting point is 00:51:08 And everyone's dressed to the nines. And I just want to say, ask somebody who has not worked in an office for 14 years. And when I did, it was very casual attire because it was a TV show. Are people actually going to an office and getting dressed up like that and all arriving at the same time anymore? Isn't that like a 20-year-old thing? Yes, that's stated. Yeah. And so then she's acting like Miranda in where the world's product. The wizards in Hollywood didn't even think about that.
Starting point is 00:51:40 Okay. And so then she walks in and this is my inspiration because I'm wearing white today. Of course, she's wearing all white. Okay. pants and a long white coat and a white vest. And, you know, everyone's like, hello, Miss Jones, or whatever her name is. And they're all scared. And, you know, and, and then he is the lawyer on her case. And it's kind of a weird story. She's being sued. Are they supposed to fall in love? She's being sued by another airline saying that this one airport had a
Starting point is 00:52:19 couple extra gates available for a new airline to come into. Okay. And they had already promised these gates to United and Delta and something else. But then she had dinner with the airport guy and suddenly the next day he switched it and opened it up to Sun Cruise airs. Okay. So this other guy is accusing her of either paying this airline, this airport guy, or screwing him. It's a very weird storyline, kind of.
Starting point is 00:52:50 And then he has literally has a boner for her. He cannot. He can't handle himself. He saw her in her glowing white dress. And at first she was really mean. She says fuck a lot, by the way, a lot of bad language. And which I was kind of surprised by it. And then he goes to shake her hand.
Starting point is 00:53:06 And she's like, what the heck? Fuck, dude. And he has like a big boner, like coming through his black pants. And he's the hired attorneys, the general counsel. And I guess he's a stand-up comic. named Matt Goldstein. And then he goes to visit his sister in prison who's in such a bad prison situation
Starting point is 00:53:26 that she's handcuffed to the table. She can't even have a conversation with her brother slash lawyer. What? And the first thing she's concerned with is not, they don't tell us what the crime is at this point. I mean, I would think it would be murder. I don't think it's like writing a fraudulent.
Starting point is 00:53:46 She's English too, but she's in a prison in whatever America. Is she in a jumpsuit or I was like, nice clothes on? No, she's in an orange jumpsuit. She's, and she's like, her first question is, you haven't gotten late in four years, you better be dating. And of course, Jay Lowe's assistant who's extremely pregnant, who got inseminated, doesn't care to be with her baby once it's born. She's like, JLo, the minute I have this baby, I'm leaving it with the nannies, and I'm coming back to work for you at Sun. Cruz. And so everyone's scared of the pregnant assistant because she's like a bitch, too. So every man in the office is like terrified of these women. That's like the flippoor. We got to know who
Starting point is 00:54:29 wrote this. And then he, you know, really, they haven't. And she's attracted to him too. So they have this weird attraction going. She's attracted to her general counsel. Yes. Okay. Because she saw the boner and she had been single for a long too. And of course, her assistant is like, you're a Life is non-existent. It's business and business, not business and a love life. By the way, no assistant gives two shits about their boss's private life. Nobody does. Nobody.
Starting point is 00:54:56 And also his assistant is like, you know, how's your private life going? I'm really worried about your private life, which is, by the way, like, borderline and HR issue. I'm literally like, is this the only office in America that makes people go in five days a week? Because I thought everybody just works from home. And it was like running or running. And also, is there mail rooms even exist anymore? Like, so pushing the mail around?
Starting point is 00:55:19 How many people are getting mail items? Like, literal mail items on their desk anymore. I need to find out who wrote this. Her outfits are gorgeous. She's got a lot of extra hair pinned into her head that look nice. You know. Is the father alive? Her father is, I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Who's the James Earl? he's like that Mexican actor that has James Earl Jones who has bed skin Edward almost Yes that that I believe From stand by me or
Starting point is 00:55:58 I don't know but anyway he comes in with a long Stand and deliver He comes down with a long gray ponytail And like a leather bomber jacket And shows up to the board meeting And he's like hey Gordita or whatever he calls her And he's like
Starting point is 00:56:14 Gordita you called her a fat ass No maybe that's I don't speak Spanish. He calls her some little, like, nickname. Okay. And everybody's scared at the meeting because he is the owner of the whole line, which is, I mean, he's worked in corporate America, but he looks like he's ready to jump on a Harley.
Starting point is 00:56:33 Okay, got it. And then, you know, but he's an airline pilot who then built this big corporation and gave it to his daughter, which everyone's, oh, the daughter. Well, the daughter's 55. I know she looks 45, but the daughter's 55. Yes. Like, it's hardly like, Parasilton's running the airline. Who's taking a risk on this, this young starlet.
Starting point is 00:56:53 Yes. But like this woman, yeah. And so then anyway, I, that's how far I got. Are you going to watch the rest? People said the birth scene is either funny or weird or something when the girl gives birth to the baby that she eats in somebody. Oh, my God. So. I do think it's weird all movies the way that they enact, reenact like birth.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Like, somebody, like a man has to write them. It's so bizarre. It's always a birth scene. And it's always like has to be. And it's like, and sweating. And it's always like that. And like, and listen. And the husband's always down there.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Let me tell you where my husband was when I gave birth. He's in the corner on his laptop working. And I have a bunch of friends there and we're laughing. People have funny birth stories. And I believe everyone has, everyone has birth story. You either came out of one or you gave one. Okay. Every woman has some type of birth story.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Or the baby. he's like about to drop on the floor and the doctor's like, you know, like football. Yeah. And weird. Yeah. And yeah. It's always that. It's just, yeah, it's always that.
Starting point is 00:57:54 It's like, you know, let's have an awkward date scene. Let's have a, you know, let's have a montage of trying on outfits that don't work before the date. Oh my God. Yes. Let's do a treadmill where you get distracted and run out of frame, roll out of frame. Right. Let's, you know, trip and fall. And the assistance always like has like three bags.
Starting point is 00:58:15 and a paper and just trying to like gather everything and chasing and you know after the boss. Yeah. Yeah. We got to get. She'll the real assistant who's just like doing TikToks in the corner. And like she's like, excuse me. Or the boss is making the assistant do TikTok. Like no, okay, now make it like a boss lady vibe. Yeah. That's what's going on in corporate America. I don't know. Like I just really was like, just talk to me. If you really go to an office and also a 50-year-old woman who's that hot and has run this business for years and it's the same people she sees every day at the office, is she really wearing uncomfortable heels 10 hours a day? No. Maybe she goes to court. She wears something.
Starting point is 00:59:00 But like, really? Yeah. But that it's okay. It's a movie. Okay? It's a movie. It's supposed to take us out of reality. And we get to do it.
Starting point is 00:59:09 and I saw one clip where she's in a bikini. And a monochromatic look too. I love them. Yes, I love it. And I'm always like, why don't I work? I don't know. I skipped ahead. They're like on the beach and he has good abs.
Starting point is 00:59:26 And she's. The general counsel is with his client on the beach. Maybe they're dating at this point. I'm skipping forward, but she's wearing a string bikini triangle top. Her abs are ridiculous. And she's like, with his. And she goes, oh, look at me. I've got sand on my butt.
Starting point is 00:59:43 And, you know, I'm such a mess. And she has the best body ever. And he goes, I wish everyone in the office could see the real you. The real you that's in a bikini with sand on her asshole. Like, where's the HR department? What? I have not finished it. So some of the things might get answered.
Starting point is 01:00:03 It is the number one movie in America. So we do love her dress. I love that outfit. And this outfit she's wearing all black and she looks fucking stunning. So good for her. Chris Jenner posted this video of where it looks like she's at one of her mansions. And she's walking through and Ellen, someone's filming at some assistant. It was told to have to film a prank that Ellen did for 15 years.
Starting point is 01:00:32 And Chris Jenner's walking down the hall and then Ellen jumps out and scares her. and then she's like, you're such an asshole. Why did you do that? And then Chris Jenner wrote, at Ellen DeGeneres, still at her old, still at her shenanigans. It never gets old. And I want to say, yeah, it does.
Starting point is 01:00:49 It does get old. It does get old. That's real old. It was really old and really lame. Yeah. And if you want to do it, Ellen, for fun, I would say, don't film it. It's weird.
Starting point is 01:01:01 Don't film it because nobody liked it when you used to do it. Why was Chris surprised if there's assistant in front of her filming her walking. Wouldn't she expect something's going to happen? I don't know. Do you know what I mean? This is a great actress too. This is the work that assistants in America are having to do right now. They have to do a lot of TikToks and videos. Anyway, Ellen is obviously back unless unless I don't know. I think she moved back. Maybe this is a ship. Maybe they're on the Scientology ship? No, maybe this is like the Jeff Bezos ship and they're all on it.
Starting point is 01:01:40 Or this could be her house in Lakeita. I don't know. But they're still great friends. And she is back in America. Yeah. And people, but a lot of comments were just, I love your friendship. We need Ellen back on TV. I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:02:00 No. Certainly not TV. Yeah. But, you know, the pranks are still happening. Michael Jackson the verdict. Now listen, even talking about this show will create people writing nasty things
Starting point is 01:02:15 in my comment section on YouTube and on the podcast. However, it's a big deal. It's a show on Netflix. It came out June 3rd. It's about the trial and that happened in, was it, 2003? He already had his three children.
Starting point is 01:02:37 I had to look up the timeline because there were other accusations prior to that in which there was a 20 plus million payout. 23 million. 23 million. And that person named Jordan was his name. He is since estranged from his mother and there's another
Starting point is 01:02:53 other like YouTube or smaller documentary where this girl is saying, I went to college with him and he said he was, you know, this never happened. or whatever the case. So the fans of Michael Jackson truly believe he's always been innocent.
Starting point is 01:03:09 They're the same people that saw him spin on the top of the car with his umbrella. And they, you know, why is this coming out now since he's had the biggest movie about his career, which never touched on any of these accusations. And, you know, so you watch it. And they go to the Michael, what's his name, Bershear? Martin Boucher.
Starting point is 01:03:33 Martin Boucher. Martin Bashir, who did the incredible life with Michael Jackson, where he was up in the tree and saying all these things. And then they interview Michael with this one kid named Gavin, who was very sick with cancer. Somehow they were able to get in touch with Michael Jackson, and he said, we will make sure that he gets the best care and he gets better. And this family was living in a one-bedroom apartment,
Starting point is 01:04:01 then we're very close to him. And in this clip, it shows the boy putting his head on Michael's shoulder and saying, you know, he said, you know, if you really love me, you have to sleep in the bed with me. And Michael's laughing, ha, ha, ha. And he goes, so I slept in the bed with him and everything. Now, that was edited. So in my research, they said this, the whole clip says, I wanted to sleep in the bed with Michael.
Starting point is 01:04:37 And Michael kept saying, no, I'll sleep on the floor. And then he goes, well, then I'll sleep on the floor. And then Michael said, if you really love me, you'll sleep on the bed. And I'll sleep on the floor. Why are they even in the same bedroom? Exactly. Exactly. And why after, now, if you already got screwed over by this little cute kid that
Starting point is 01:05:01 dressed like you and you took a fondness from them and you took them on trips and you had them spin around, everything. And that awful parent came to you and in order to get out of this mess, you gave that family $23 million. After that, why wouldn't anybody in their right mind go, I love kids. I love opening my house to Neverland. And I will do that for sick of kids, but I can never be alone with them and I can never be alone with them. And I can never. I don't want them in the main house. I don't want them spending the night. I don't want to...
Starting point is 01:05:35 Just like there was a time when women would be able to go to the gyno and if it was a male doctor, it would just be you and the male doctor. Over time, you've got to have a nurse to protect you, to protect the doctor. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Cubs Scouts, you cannot be with a child that's not yours alone. At any moment, you're going to bring another adult over to protect yourself. More and more people, are not having sleepovers to protect their own kids, but also to protect themselves.
Starting point is 01:06:07 Who's to say that some kids are not going to spend the night and come home and say, I woke up and the dad of the house was. And then your life is fucking ruined. So I get it. This was still 20 years ago. But you already had one incident, which you just gave $20 million away. The other thought is that he had the catalog of the Beatles and the Beatles and Sony wanted it or something
Starting point is 01:06:33 and all this was orchestrated to screw him over from Sony. It is, but I mean, two things can be true, you know, you can be a, like, freaking freak and be weirded,
Starting point is 01:06:52 look weird, be super into kids, invite them to spend the night with you. And maybe you never touched him. Maybe you showed them dirty photos. Maybe you put on little twinkly lights and drank milk, but you never touched him is what he said. The other part is some of them you did touch, some of them you didn't. Maybe you never touched McCauley Culkin because he was a professional actor. I don't know. I think it's really, it's the most interesting part to me is just celebrity
Starting point is 01:07:26 and trials and how jurors. They were starstruck for sure. And again, blaming the kid that now you're changing your story and this isn't true. And I've never heard a kid. I heard the breakfast club talk about it. And the one boy said in his first initial telling what happened to him to the detective, which looked very real to me, he said, he used the word that Michael said, I'll show you how to do it. And then he like masturbated him.
Starting point is 01:08:00 and someone in the Brooks Club was like, I never heard a kid use that word before. How many kids have you heard talk about child abuse? Like how, you know what I mean? Like, I get it. I just think it's really hard for people to sometimes equate a celebrity with doing something wrong. Like, they can't accept it.
Starting point is 01:08:20 It's just a very, you know, the two, the Wade Robbins, Robinson, Robeson. Wade Robson. Robson and the other guy that was leaving. Neverland, that documentary from a few years ago, they do have a trial coming up. Yeah. You know, I did interview the producers of that documentary
Starting point is 01:08:39 many, like years ago. Yeah. Listen, you know, I just don't think it's, you know, it's, I get why when you hear all the things, okay, you know, these parents were not wealthy. They, you know, but
Starting point is 01:08:58 also he would seek out. families that really needed help and care. And you, how many people have like, people thought their daughter was going to be the next protege of R. Kelly and shit like that happened. People can be bad parents and it wasn't a strategic thing. You go make friends with Michael Jackson. And then our plan is in a few years, we're going to say this happened. And it's awful.
Starting point is 01:09:25 I just don't understand why anyone around him after that would be like, like, I don't care that you like children. Well, maybe they did. You're not allowed to like them anymore. Maybe they did. He just didn't listen. I don't know. People who have a lot of money,
Starting point is 01:09:40 they kind of do what they want. It's just any adult, like, and then he had the three kids. So he was a single father with three kids at home, and he was still spending all this time with other kids that were not his. You don't think that's weird? I think the best person to kind of
Starting point is 01:10:00 ask about at this point, I would love to interview or to have somebody interview Paris Jackson. She, I mean, everybody in the Jackson family that's, you know, of course they believe their father. They also don't want anything to, sorry, upset their money and their protege. And, you know, his books are selling, his music's doing better. The money is totally flowing. And so they feel like every time we get into a better place with the memory of Michael Jackson, Netflix has to go put on this piece of piece of shit, which makes you wonder if it's true or not,
Starting point is 01:10:36 which someone goes, what is this dumb documentary? Well, I think that's good. That's a fair assessment. How will we ever really know? You know, how will we ever really know? But it's very weird. The point of this too was, I think there is an attempt for us to revisit a bunch of trials. And in this case, it was closed door.
Starting point is 01:10:56 So it's similar to looking back at like a Menendez case, although that was in front of cameras, but just looking through a modern lens. The other part is they really would, and I think we talked about this too, everybody around him, whether it was the housekeeper or this or that, would act like he was a child himself
Starting point is 01:11:16 and a vulnerable person. And Michael's so sweet and so nice and he doesn't know any better and how could people trick him into thinking that... Well, you can't be two things at one time. You can't be like a genius in business, would then be like a child at home. I think that those are in conflict with each other.
Starting point is 01:11:33 I remember when I was writing with Keenever Wains, he told me that he hung out, this is my memory, that he was hanging out with Michael Jackson one day, and he spoke in a normal voice. Well, he did not have that, hi, voice, he was like, oh, and like had a normal voice.
Starting point is 01:11:53 Like, just like as Paris Hilton has a normal voice. And so I don't know if that lit up, voice is because he wanted to be childlike. Well, sometimes that voice. Sometimes that voice is from somebody who was abused as a child too. Listen, we all can agree he, you know, had a hard, very hard childhood and all that. And then I just feel like, you know, and I think like at first we thought it was cute. Like he would discover a kid that was dancing like him with a hat.
Starting point is 01:12:25 And he was like, this kid is the cutest. let's like that. But then there were several kids like that. And they were going on trips with him and, you know, and all this other stuff. And then to the single mom and that didn't have the money, they're like, oh, my God, we're going on tour with Michael Jackson and he's so sweet and so great. And then, but that, oh, and the weirdest thing in it was there was this bag of material that his former assistant who also was, a little kid that used to hang out with them, shared that had these, it was like an old-fashioned magazine where you could order from like overseas tapes of like dads and sons bathing and things like that.
Starting point is 01:13:16 So upsetting. Now someone could say, who even knows that that's true? And someone could have made that up and someone could have taken that magazine and made that, I get all that. But I'm just saying it's a TV. show this is what's on this is what people are talking about people are mad that we're talking about
Starting point is 01:13:33 it and you know um but it is fast i mean it is a fascinating story and how good the attorneys were and the conspiracies around it and you know the lessons that can be learned his attorney was Alan Jackson right the guy with like the long gray hair yeah right yeah yeah yeah so and for Brian, he had a publicist that represented Brian, right? I'm like going back in time. He would always go on Larry King and talk on his behalf. Right. I mean, there's just so many people and anybody could say anything. There's a maid that came on in some other interview I saw that, you know, in the comments are like, oh, she, you know, went to the tabloids instead of the police.
Starting point is 01:14:18 And she was basically saying, like, listen, I was an adult woman. I was scared to speak up because this job was important to me. now imagine a young child that also he's saying if you tell, I'll never work again. I'll never be able to make music again. And your family will suffer. So just like anybody that's being molested by an adult, but then to have that adult be the most beloved singer in the world that is giving you so many beautiful things and helped you get out of cancer, that then if something nefarious happened after that, like anybody else, oftentimes you don't tell for a long time. So I hate all those comments. Why now?
Starting point is 01:14:59 Well, whatever. And listen, Netflix is here to make money. So this is a good timely time to bring it out. Like I said, I think it is important to go back into all these trials. Yeah. It's very interesting. So this is another show. This is from your thing.
Starting point is 01:15:15 It says, your friend, Kate Casey. The new cult doc, this is the, what is it called? All the Beautiful People or something? It's called Bring Me the Beauties, a Model Col. it's on HBO and Max. It's three episodes. And the net net is this guy with the parrot was, his name was Freddie Myers, but then he changed his narrative to Frederick Von Mears. He was like from Brooklyn.
Starting point is 01:15:38 And he would then later told people that he was raised by some wealthy benefactor. Like he completely rewrote his life, gets his like, weasels his way into like 80s, like society. And he becomes everyone's astrologer. and then he becomes this cult leader where all of these people would come to him and because he said that he basically was 37 light years ahead of them
Starting point is 01:16:04 ahead of all of us because he had been affected by Octuron which is like some star it's like I'm like did you pick this from a book or just make this up and anyway so they all believe in him and then he's selling astrology packages
Starting point is 01:16:21 but you have to give all your money over to him. It's like, you know, all the other cult docs. Yeah, it's all the other cult talks. It's where, you know, we're one big happy family, but then you've got to tell on each other. Right. And then you've got to all berate one person. First, he wouldn't let them have relationships and no one was allowed to have sex. But then he would say, okay, you have to have sex with this person. So Hoyt, who I interviewed, who was like the most famous male model in the 1980s. He said he wasn't allowed to have a relationship. And then it would be like, okay, you have to have sex with this person. You'd be like, she's like my sister. Well, you have
Starting point is 01:16:53 to have sex with her. And then they found out later that he didn't want anybody to have sex, and then he would tell them who to have sex with, and then he is like sleeping with people. So, you know, it's like Keith Reneery. You know, you can't have anything but like squash and almonds, but then he's eating junk food. It's like they're always hypocrites. Yeah. It's, um, as well, I watched the first episode of it because I think it's only one one and a week. Yeah. And I'm going to be honest. I don't know. But he gets the hotties. Does it get better because I wasn't in love with this one? The second one you learn more about like his banana, like belief system and just the building of the cult.
Starting point is 01:17:33 I mean, on paper, it sounds so asinine, but then you start to realize that it was a slow burn. As someone who, you know, interviews a lot of documentaries and there's a lot of documentaries and I talk about them. But sometimes I'm like, in this one, the first episode, I was like, this is the only interview we ever did was on this weird talk show and we just keep seeing it over and over again I know but that's the scary thing is like Hoyt said
Starting point is 01:18:01 the problem was there was no information on him now like if there's a cult leader you know there's a guy in you know some country who starts to so since there was no information this was like the 80s or ladies he just believes it because that's the narrative so that is the scary point is before social media
Starting point is 01:18:18 and there's things these videos were available so they believed everything I think that being a cult leader, it's a difficult time economically for a cult leader. It's hard, especially if you're going to change your name. I think you're right. I think it's really, you just have to go be a life coach, I think. I think so. And just the individual people and not put them all in the same house.
Starting point is 01:18:38 No. And not get them tennis shoes and say they're going to go to Heaven's Gate or anything like that. Remember when you wore the shoes? I know that really scared you. Today, you coughed in my shoes here. Yeah. These are Tarje, everybody. They're super cute. I'm going to get them.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Okay. Hopefully they're still there. You know, that's like the target. I'm just like, I'll get there and then there's like a drop and I'm like shaking. And then I'm like, do I go tell everybody or do I not go tell everybody? My daughter, my oldest, woke up one day at 5 a.m. to go to the Roberta Roller Target drop. I was like, oh, yeah. Is it worth it? But I got to be honest, she brought the stuff home and I was like, hmm, not worth it.
