signs that you can look for that show you their most competitively priced items with the highest
quality you can expect from Whole Foods. And they just, you know, and they got their house brand,
the 365, which we actually shop from.
I get their 365 cheese, we get the bread.
I go to their in-store deli.
I buy the bacon from there.
They just sell like just bacon every morning.
So I don't have to, you know, cook my own bacon.

Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
I wanna thank everybody that has reached out
for wondering how I am doing and my family is doing
in the LA fires.
We are very fortunate that our community,
our immediate area has not been affected.
And thank you so much for everything you've done for LA in general.
I have a really incredible interview with our good friend Spencer Pratt and his beautiful
wife, Heidi Montag, and it is incredible.
He takes us from how the fire started, what happened, what he has found out, what investigations
are going on, how Hollywood has treated him then versus now and what's the future holding.
And then Heidi comes in and we really talk about what it's been for her as a mother of
a young child, young children that have no longer have a community. And we get into the
music and she also spills some juice about the Hills
that I've never heard before.
So I really think you're gonna love this interview.
I know you are, and they are also really grateful
for all the Juicy Scoopers who have supported them
and everyone in L.A.
So here is Heidi and Spencer.
Thank you.
Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop. You guys have been so concerned So here is Heidi and Spencer. Thank you.
Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
You guys have been so concerned about our greatest Juicy Scooper ever, Spencer Pratt and his beautiful wife, Heidi, and their two boys.
And you are here Spencer.
Thank you so much for taking the time and talking to me today. I love you so much.
Thank you so much for texting and you know,
doing everything you can much for texting and, you know,
doing everything you can more than anybody else,
no matter what people try to say in the comments section.
I, it's just, so thank you.
Well, for those of you, you know,
that are just catching up, you lost your home to the fire
in the Palisades, the entire palisades town is gone
The school is gone. The high school is gone. Your parents home is gone. And is that the home you grew up in? Correct? Correct and
So before we get into then how you made lemonade out of the worst thing that's ever happened in you and your family's life
Losing your homes in a scary fire. I just want to ask you a little bit like about
that day, like Tuesday. So the wind started and just kind of like walk us
through of like what happened and when you realize that you guys just have to
get out of there. So one of my most annoying superpowers that I've had for as long as I can remember is
I only have a psychic power for when something bad is going to happen.
So the night before, and I never had this feeling before, which just haunts me.
And it's like now I'm like, oh my gosh, like I was told like by whatever the universe spirits angel
Whatever you would have believed six cents
I was told this fire was coming because I looked out the window because our kid had Gunnar and Riker had like
Back and forth a hundred and four degree temperatures. So we were up for like two weeks straight like just insane
So that night I was up so late and I'm watching
the wind out by our like bamboo and I'm up late a lot so I know like the level of wind
and this was like spooky and I just had this feeling I was like if a fire starts right now
like it's a wrap like we're done And this is at three in the morning.
And then I went to bed and never thought about it again. And then since Heidi and slept in
like realistically two weeks, we and our nanny was, you know, cause it had been Christmas
break for three weeks. We had no help. She finally came in town. So she took our youngest
one, Riker, the two year old for a hike on our trail behind our house. She runs inside
and she's like, the workers that are building that house said to get out, you know, there's
a fire on the hill. And I'm like, huh? You know, like we have all these alerts and I
feel like my mom knows everything on next door that ever exists and ring and everything. So if there was a fire, I would know.
So I just like, okay, you know, I'll go run and look.
So I run up to the top of this hill where we always hang out with the kids on this trail
and I see the smoke, but it's far enough away though.
I call Heidi, I'm like, I think we're good.
You know, the planes could come or it didn't look
end of the world level devastation
because people are messaging me like,
why didn't you get a U-Haul?
Like if you saw a fire.
Well, first off, there's always evacuations in the palaces.
We've probably evacuated three or four times.
It's just to be cautious.
I don't know why they do it, but it's, you know,
we've done that before where you pack your couple,
you know, passports and an overnight bag and it's all good, right?
so I stayed on this hill and
My dad calls me and he's like what's going on with this fire? I'm like, oh, it's on the hill
I think you know, like it's pretty far back there. The planes are just showing up
So two planes showed up and they were dip going into the water and they were hitting and I was like they're doing a good job
And my dad's like I'm gonna leave work and come so my dad comes up to this hill
We're just sitting there watching and they're doing a great job with these two planes
and then
You know, I see the so we live on this our house had
We had a house near this water tower and I saw
We had a house near this water tower and I saw
DWP or whatever and there was this big tower that I have seen on TV where the helicopters dipped the things in I'm like Oh, we're good because I'm watching them opening it up and all the waters coming. I'm yelling that's full and they're like, yeah
It's good to go. So I'm like, oh
The helicopters gonna come dip its thing in there and just be right there and protecting the house.
So I tell Heidi, like, you know, pack some stuff,
like just to leave, I think we'll be good.
And it's still, you know, I don't know the time.
It's probably on my Snapchat, like,
cause I was snapping it, like getting content,
not like, like now I would have been
packing our whole existence, right?
No, like it wasn't, didn't feel that extreme.
This is Tuesday, this is Tuesday afternoon. Yeah.
Now it's getting later. I feel like I was out there for hours just like
watching. They were doing good. I'm saying like so much.
I need to find some other words. That's messing my brain.
So the planes were coming.
You felt good about the planes. And then the planes were coming, you felt good about the planes.
And then the planes left.
And this is where, you know, I know Juicy Scoop loves a good conspiracy.
They do.
So my neighbor, who's connected with law enforcement and whoever said that the planes left because Biden was flying into town and there was a flight restriction.
The fire department or whoever said no, it was because it got too windy. I was on this hill
where realistically I could have thrown an egg and hit these planes for hours. So like I have
the gauge of how windy it is. These pilots could have kept flying if people were shooting rockets at them. They
were the cool, like these dudes were top gun, you know, there was, so there's my conspiracy.
Obviously there's a lot of people are going to be investigating getting to the bottom
of it, but it is a strange coincidence that that was the defining moment. So when those
planes left, it just starts coming like like a like a lava
down the hill so then I start calling 911 and they connect me the fire
department like I'm afraid we have no assets I'm like we can stop this like
this is a trail if it comes past this trail then it starts hitting the house
is one fire truck and the most frustrating part about all this is just
killing me is after this last Malibu
thing that happened like three weeks ago, I had multiple friends.
They're all part of the Malibu Brigade.
They got their own hoses, their own jackets, and they saved all their houses.
So I'm hearing this and I'm like telling my dad, we got to get these fire hoses because
I have a hydrant right there and I'll hook up and tell him this like a month ago and I just didn't order it and I was like I'll leave it right here and I'll
have my own fire hose but I didn't do it because you know Heidi and I always work out right
on that street and I will say at least once a week the fire department comes on our street
because we have the reservoir they do the drill they hook up so I was so confident always
that you know we have unlimited water.
There's this big height, maybe it's empty, I don't know, and that's the secret.
But I thought we had this reservoir.
So now you know that that reservoir was empty.
So that's the one in the highlands.
We have one on Chautauqua.
Oh, okay.
So I saw them filling up water.
There was enough water to definitely stop
what was coming down the trail because I was looking at the top of it on this thing and it
was like coming out of it. I have a video of it. And so that they're like we have no assets. And
then I told Heidi like get everything you want. And and she you know, she blacked out obviously
and didn't get anything she wanted which you know
It's just how what did you guys grab? I saw that you grabbed she grabbed Gunner's little she got the two fairies
Got her the teeth the tooth fairy about the teeth. Yeah
We got his teeth. We got their two little bears. I got my Heidi shirts, some shorts, socks.
I got one backpack full of crystals, which here's the craziest part about your brain.
I have probably realistically, I don't want to say a number, but just right on this one
thing, probably at least $100,000 of my crystal pendants that I've kept the best ones, all
my tourmalines, aquas.
And instead of just going like this,
scooping them all in the backpack and taking them like,
oh, I don't want to scratch them and crack them
and break them, cause I was not accepting
that our house was just going to be gone.
So now I just like,
cannot stop thinking about how stupid I feel
that I had a backpack and I can just go, woof.
And then I like, maybe some made it, maybe they didn't,
but now none of those, you know,
I always kept the best of my necklaces for myself.
And that's the other part is I wish I just sold them.
So once then my dad, he wouldn't leave.
He like had a real like I'd have to talk to a psychiatrist and ask them how to describe
I think he was like in a trance.
And so I'm screaming at my dad because the flames are the size of.
Now how far is your dad's house from you?
So we're up on the hill, which I always knew like, oh, it could be fire danger, but fire
trucks could stop it.
You know, there's enough cement before.
So I was confident but where they live it's the end of town like so far
that house that was there because he had no insurance on a single dollar and I said why
not dad he's like our house is 130 years old if our house were to burn down that would
mean the whole town were to burn down and I I was like, well, dad, you know, so that's how like
I want to have you evacuated to my parents' house initially. Oh, that's like, that's how
crazy it would be for the fire to go from where it was to my parents' house. So she
went with the kids and the suitcases that we grabbed and evacuated to my parents' house
that burned down to nothing.
And then how long were you at your parents before all of you guys then?
So I never met them.
I was like, so she was at my parents' house
and my older sister calls and she's like,
what are you guys doing there?
Because no, we weren't watching the news
because of the 104 degree temperature
or watching Garfield or whatever
because Gunner is so sick on the couch.
And I'm like, keep calling her.
I'm like, put the news on.
She's like, I can't gunner.
I'm like, so we don't know that the fire is now wrapped around and coming into the
town and coming in from like Pali high and like, and coming from the side of my
parents' house.
So once my older sister called and said, get out of there. Heidi loaded up and just started driving to Santa Barbara.
And I stayed at my house on the hill
because my dad would not leave.
And he's like, I'm gonna put this out.
I'm like, what are you talking about, dad?
He's like, I fought three fires in Malibu.
When I lived in Malibu in the 30 years,
I'm like, you're 70 plus.
This is a forest fire now.
This is not like your next door neighbor
and so he lost it I was screaming at him like I had to put him in his car and then we leave
and we go off and I'm looking at my cameras to see if the virus went and I see my dad
pull back up to the house and getting out the garden hose and just these
flames. And he's just like, post like there's the water spitting at this fire. Like, and
he's and I'm and he's not picking up his phone. I keep calling him. That's like, so the good
thing about him doing this to me is it took away the fact that our house was burning down because I was like, my dad is going to die. And he's clearly lost the plot. So it took my mind off of the actual
situation like the possessions in the house. And it was more of like, my dad's going to
die. And so finally, I get him to leave my house. No, the flames surrounded him. And
he I think finally was he said flight or flight kicked in and he's like
The flight part was more than so I thought he like
He he made it like his brain was working, but then he drives to his house
Where now the entire town is on fire. He's the firefighters aren't even there. There's no firefighters
It's my dad and I was calling a hundred times. I'm calling my mom. Nobody can reach him. I call 911 and they're like, oh that is uh, I'm sorry, sir
Whatever i'm not misquoting him
There's no longer anyone can drive to that at like the whole streets are done. We can't 901 can't even go get him
So finally he picks up my what
are you doing is that I'm doing a good job. I'm just hitting it. I'm like you're going
to die. He's like I'm like he's like I'm going to jump in the pool. So wait, wait, wait,
let me just get it. So he first went to your house while you guys left. You're watching
the cameras and he goes back thinking he could save your house. Then he gets in the car,
Heidi, the kids, your mom are no longer in the palisades
and neither are you.
Then he goes back to his own house
and is trying to save that house
and his plan was to jump in the pool.
He said, we can't lose two houses today.
I'm like, it's done.
Like, dad, you're gonna, and you know, I don't know what
then he finally got in his car and left to the point he said cars were blowing up next to him as he was driving fiery trash cans are hitting the car. He said like Armageddon like he admitted that he should be dead, you know, he still obviously they're my parents. So that's the saddest part because
You know, he's still obviously there my parents. So that's the saddest part because
They We got some bears and some shirts and they got nothing out of their house
Like my mom did not think she was never coming back. She didn't even get a go back
No keys. No nothing. No not up. So
My mom is really having a hard time.
Really hard time.
Like crazy.
It's kind of scary.
Yeah, because especially, you know, you had said, you know, I don't have any kids' pictures
or I don't have anything before iPhones, but you do have your kids on your iPhone
Your mom all her baby pictures all her giving birth pictures all of your memories are not on an iPhone
And she doesn't have any of that. No like my mom my older sister
Harassed my mom for being a hoarder because I joke that she's just a collector. She has kept everything that
is ever connected to her kids. We're talking ticket stubs, movie theater cups from the certain movie.
I mean, I'm talking to the point where she could have been on like hoarders, but it's all things
that are connected to our lives. Right. Sentimental.
Yeah.
My room there was like, I said it was like a time capsule.
I could go in there, my drawers, everything was like being in back to the future.
Everything is untouched.
And it's just her whole life was hanging out in that house and texting me photos of like
things to remind me.
Remember this, remember that.
For the last, I want to say solid eight years,
it's all my mom does is just send me to the point where
like that's the annoying thing that's like, oh my God.
But it's now I'm like, thank God she texted any
of these things.
Cause now I'm worried I deleted her fricking text
because I'm gonna have to find out.

Like...
So, you know, you said about not having insurance,
and, you know, we...
So, no, we had farmers for like eight years with full
coverage you and Heidi yeah like paying it my dad never had anything because he said
but we had that and they just dropped everybody I don't know right after the I'll get the
exact date you know because some people are like they did it last month it wasn't last
month because we've been fighting and I've been taking photos and cutting trees just to get this California
Fair plan that covers
Nothing. I mean our it's not covering my water filter set up in the house, you know, we put so much money in this house
It's like oh
Like we're gonna fix the four wall. It's so if you like, oh, like, we're going to fix the four wall. It's so when people are like, oh, you
have no, we, we put everything in his house, we wouldn't need real insurance cover. I mean,
I had $2 million in crystals there. That's not on California fair plan or whatever.
And I can understand. I know people are like, how did your dad not have insurance? I'm guessing they owned their house, okay, outright.
So therefore a mortgage isn't demanding that they have it.
And then the price was probably so high that he thought it wasn't worth it.
My dad doesn't even pay, doesn't want to pay for the newspaper.
My dad gets coffee at McDonald's.
My dad eats a Taco Bell three days a week for dinner. Like he's not like Spencer Pratt. He's the
polar opposite. So like he said, why would I even have fire insurance on a house that's
125 years old? There's never been any fires. There's been anywhere near that house. And so, so now all of you guys, are your parents near you are near your house?
They're trying to like, I just did a post there in some apartment in Santa Monica.
My mom says like five people above her flushing the toilet all night long.
She can't sleep.
She can't walk her dog. So we're in their rental place and I'm paying them rent
so that they can, you know, pay for all their stuff. So it's just like, it's.
It's just such a nightmare.
No, it's worse than a nightmare.
No, I know. I mean, I'm very lucky. You know, I've lived in my area of Woodland Hills basically my whole life because I bought the house next
door to my parents.
And the night of Tuesday night, I in all of my years had never heard the wind that loud.
And like patio furniture being thrown around like I never so I
do think there's a lot of mismanagement horrible mistakes that happened but also
you know the wind was like something I've never experienced we're just so
lucky that it didn't come near us so I never thought I'd be shouting out the LA
Times because you know they're not you, but the LA Times just did a whole piece
this morning, I read it, and it was about how they knew
this one was the here, and they chose not to pre-deploy
all these fire and water pumps that they had on deck,
and they chose not to.
And so this is like, it's not the New York Post,
I love the New York Post, or this is the LA Times,
who usually is like, hey, it's very, New York Post, I love the New York Post, or is the LA Times who usually is like, Hey, you know, it's very, right, getting political, but right, they're
coming for that. So that right there is just also, I have videos of my friends trying to
save their houses. There's no reason why I'm glad I didn't say stay but and there's no
water coming out of even the, uh,
faucet.
Yeah.
They're showing them.
Like I have a friend has a video.
There's just a little fire in his, uh, little courtyard area.
He's showing no waters coming out of the thing.
That little fire boom, right to the house, tire house down.
Wow.
All right.
He's got the whole video.
So, so, you know, and we're talking talking little like a hose could have put it out.
No water.
Just right to the house.
Done.
And he was in your area as well?
Yeah, just down the street.
And then, you know, then of course people are aware that we've had arsonists.
Oh, 100% this was started. There's no, I mean, that's not even a maybe,
like there's no power line. Like there's just, I've been saying,
we go on hikes every single day.
That's all we do as a family is hike these trails and every day I'm like vigilant
looking at all these suspicious type people coming now into the palaces because
Tomesco Canyon has this parking lot
and everybody parks now on Temescal
and it turned into Runyon Canyon.
Like if you don't know what Runyon Canyon is,
it's in Hollywood and just every single person on earth.
Like when I grew up, these trails were only people
in the Palisades.
You didn't know about them.
They were very, it was low key.
You'd be the only person on a trail.
Now it's like
walking on the Grove or the promenade. It's ridiculous. So there's no way somebody didn't
start these. I will take that. There's no lightning in the sky. There was no all of
a sudden rocks banged into each other. This was lit and it's a hundred percent, you know,
it's a fact. I don't care what anybody says.
Well not too far from me this guy was on a bicycle with a blowtorch I don't know if you
saw that video and the like two dads in the neighborhood like citizen arrested him and
so they caught him and then there were articles saying that they let him out and I'm like
I can't keep track of all this stuff because I know.
And then I just saw another video TMZ put up of a very suspicious guy in Topanga Canyon.
And a neighbor there was filming it and asking questions.
And it's like, you know, it's time for the Karens and the Kens to come out of the woodwork
again because see something, say something. I again, because see something, say something.
I was always the see something, say something.
I remember years ago, I saw a guy smoking and talking about kind of terrorist stuff
at the end of my thing, where our street backs up to Santa Monica Mountains, too. And when I called, I remember I called
911 and I said the whole thing and they were so like rude and like not coming and not caring.
I'm like, this guy is smoking and doing this thing where it's all dry. And, you know, and
then I told the story like with Dr. Drew or something on a podcast and someone's sheriff husband like
tried to contact me and was like, wait, when was that? Where was that? And I'm like, well,
I'm glad that you care. But like, what are you supposed to do when you when you see something,
say something and then you're called like a racist or whatever. Yeah, Karen or a racist
because you're like, look, I'm not saying throw away the key but like could you just check out this kind of weird
situation that's happening like it's it's just terrible.
My thing obviously I've been drinking white wine and I
thought about the other day on on tick tock live but the
reality of these trails is if you're not a local and you care
about the community you should have to to have a pass to go there
where they know you. If these trails have the potential to burn entire cities, they
should have park ranger check-ins, you buy a yearly pass, they have your ID, you scan
in because we have TSA, we're worried about airplanes with 300 people, we're going, getting
naked and going through body scans, but anyone can just go behind
all our houses with gasoline or a torch and burn a whole city down.
So just how unsecure these trails were just is mind boggling to me.
But initially in that morning, you know, obviously things are all said, but we heard people saying that Palisades patrols,
somebody said they saw a guy with two gas canisters.
So you know, that was initial.
So obviously the FBI always people are investigating.
They're not going to tell what's out there for real.
But you know, I think there's crazy stuff's going to come out.
Well, I think that's a great point, you know, to have more security in the future for something like that.
And you're right, you know, we do it for the planes
and everything, where they know every single person
going on the plane, but not this.
I do feel like forever, LA will be pre-2024 fire
and post-2024, you know, people will go well before
the fire and before the,
I think it's going to be like that for people
that have lived in LA their whole life
that end up staying here.
We'll see a real division of history.
Oh, I mean, I was already pretty much like,
like neighborhood watch.
Like I felt this coming.
Shout out the 90 year old lady, Calliope.
She's still alive. She's not living in our next door house and now burned down. It's
Greek lady. And when we moved there, she made me like her lieutenant and she was like, they're
going to burn down the whole town. You need to stop these people from going on these trails.
She's always telling me, watch them. And she would be out on the block and she was the most badass old lady and I got her energy and I was like she's right. So like
when I would see these kids, you know, people will say there's kids. I don't think this
was kids. It's arsonist, but she was worried because people go a party up there too early
in the day. So I think it was an arsonist. If this had been at night, you know, these
teenagers were having their little beers and maybe they're smoking joints or so at nighttime
I could go along but this is 10 in the morning. This is the high wind
This is somebody who saw the news biggest wind event ever. I'm gonna go light the whole frickin city on fire
Well, let's switch gears to the lemonade that you have made out of the lemons that you were
dealt.
What, when and where?
Oh, also people are saying, make sure that Spencer gets into a sauna every day to detox
the smoke.
Our sauna burned down, so tell them to send you one.
If there's, okay, someone with a sauna, I know they make them.
I actually saw them at Costco.
I know that there's individual smaller ones.
It's funny, a sauna company, I'll get a sauna.
Yeah, that would be great.
But when did you get the thought of, because I remember I texted you, you know, we were
texting, and I just said, you know, there's GoFundMe's and stuff
and I want to, but I don't want it to be the wrong link or have something be corrupt.
And all you said was, tell them to stream Heidi's music, also go to Pratt Daddy for
the Crystals.
And so I did that.
But what made you think, wait a minute, I have to, that this is something people can
do for free
to help us and let's see where it goes. Like, I want to know your, when you thought of it,
like I want to know your whole thought process of promoting Heidi. And did you ever imagine
it would be this six days later?
No, I mean, it was just, we're at zero. So the panic in Heidi's face of like
She couldn't breathe and knowing like we have no like we put all our money in this house to like have our sons Like we always joke like we're building
Every detail into this house so we can leave them this and just pay off this mortgage
And we joked how they were gonna defy the house like who gets the top floor who gets the bump and again
It's a 3,000 square foot house. It's not this like mansion
You know it only was valued at that at Zillow recently
It was not valued at like that before the palisades turned into you know, all the movie stars were there
But that's why I keep telling people the palisades was not you know growing up all my friends were not rich there
The alphabet streets that all the movie stars and people live in now was I'm not kidding
Like the hood, you know, you drive. Oh, you're gonna get beat up going through the alphabet streets
I guess where all the scary people live, you know, so it's just so funny which is so whatever
But I was just read zero and there's only like I've come on your podcast a million times and it's like there's only a few
Things I can do to make income sell our crystals or stream ideas
music so that's just like what I already have been saying and you know this this time there
was a bigger platform and so with the music because I thought okay so the the song that
we're all hearing that I'll be here, you know, I'll
be your blonde tonight.
That song.
I'll do it.
I'll do it.
Now, did the all that I'll do it was part of the album for 15 years ago or is that a
newer song?
Because I thought that was a newer song.
No, that's the that's the song like when I've come on the podcast before and I was like
in China, it's blowing up.
That's the song that blew up in China so that's 15 years old so.
So all of her music is from when you guys did this album 15 years ago.
Now there's some like five new songs since I've been coming on your podcast.
Right that's what I thought yeah.
I'll do it was good and I was saying for the algorithm you got to make new songs to keep
pushing the old songs so you know now we have newer songs just to like keep the old ones alive.

Love the way.
Yo, I'm super hyped to say that today's episode is brought to you by Whole Foods because I
actually shop at Whole Foods.
We get all our groceries there.
We're there like a couple of times a week, man.
Just buying all the food for the family.
Okay, they got mad organic produce, they got no antibiotics ever meat.
And did you know they have such standards, right? Whole Foods bans more than 300 questionable
ingredients from all of the food they sell. For example, nothing in the store has high
fructose corn syrup. I didn't even know that until I read this ad and that's lit because
all I know is that stuff is bad for you, okay?
And they got these low price signs,
these yellow signs that you can look for
that show you their most competitively priced items
with the highest quality you can expect from Whole Foods.
And I just, you know, and they got their house brand,
the 365, which we actually shop from.
I get their 365 cheese, we get the bread. I go to their
in-store deli. I buy the bacon from there. They just sell like just bacon every morning.
So I don't have to cook my own bacon. And there's different flavors. It's so good for
real. And you can order your Whole Foods delivery. You can order your Whole Foods groceries on
Amazon and get free pickup and convenient delivery on all of your wellness journey essentials.
It's lit, terms apply. So, you know, look for your local Whole Foods and get some groceries, man. Bye.
And so everybody starts streaming it, loving it, you know, because there are there are so many good pop
beats. It's all in our heads now.
And then you got some really exciting
now. And then you've got some really exciting people coming that wants to collaborate. Tell me the exciting stuff that's happening. I've heard people...
Yeah, the problem with the exciting stuff is all these people are so secretive and once
it's official, they don't want you to talk. I need things to talk about that are positive.
That's cool for you, 200 millionaire, that you can save the good news for, Oh, let's put that out later. I'm like, so that's a
little frustrating. There's a lot of like incredible things happening and I'm, and they're
all, Oh, you can't talk about it. This is it. We talk about it now or, you know, or
never, but so that's underlying. But there are some like huge things that could, you know, or never. But so that's in the line. But there are some like, huge things
that could, you know, I guess one thing I've learned is you never know what's going to
happen. So
Well, one thing that I think is so great about you is like, you know, of course, we all watched
Heidi and Spencer and Spidey and, you know, being famous and the most hated, you know, couple on reality TV,
the most hated man, seeing old videos of the cast of The Hills warning Heidi to not be
involved with you and everything.
And then I remember the first time you came on Juicy Scoop.
And it really was because someone sent me a hummingbird video and I feel so lucky
that I got to go to your house and put on the honey bird, the hummingbird hat and everything.
Crazy, they're all gone.
And I remember you came and you're like, oh, I got here early and I went over to Gelson's
hoping that someone would recognize me, but nobody does.
And you were so like right away, I just clicked with your humor.
I just think you're so naturally funny.
And I remember the first time I had you on the show, people were like, what are you doing
having him on your show and blah, blah, blah, blah.
And then, you know, through the last few years with you being so active on Snapchat and TikTok
and doing my show and having your own show. Like people now realize that you really are
just a good family guy in love with his wife,
funny and brutally honest,
and you have people's back and you are loyal.
And so how does it feel now to have all these people,
like now you guys are the most popular kids
in the school again on the internet,
and all these people being like,
I always loved Heidi and
Spencer, but maybe you never heard from them in the last five years.
Like what is it doing?
I mean, I feel it's all positive.
It's all good, but there's got to be a little bit of that.
Like now it's cool to be, you know.
You know, that's this emotional...
I can't even enjoy it because it's like last night I was on a call with the president of
a record label, they're talking about signing Heidi and then my mom's calling me and I think
she sounds so emotional.
I'm like, does she just have a stroke?
She's not finishing her sentences and she's like so so it's like the like Anytime I get like the moment of joy. It's just like
so
Vombed from me. So it's like
That's why I joke today
It's an interview. I was like, I feel like I'm in purgatory like it's like heaven and hell it's like
Oh, your dreams are come true. You're the most famous person ever, everywhere you go.
And all these opportunities are coming.
But it's like, oh, your whole world burned down and everything you loved and cherished.
And even now with all the success, it's like, well, I can't go to my favorite anything.
I can't drop Gunnar off at karate.
I can't go to tinkering.
I'm not waiting in line for this pickup with all the parents
I've known now since preschool.
They're all moved.
So it's like, it's just this, it's like so amazing and so horrible because I'd rather,
I was happy enough how little fame I had with like my life.
So it's like, yeah, it's like, don't get me wrong.
If like I keep joking, if Heidi becomes a global pop superstar and I have $200 million,
maybe I'll be in Hawaii.
Like, yeah, I'll figure it out.
And my mom's there, my dad.
And like, if it goes to that level.
But one thing I've learned about fame is like in a week, this could be over.
And it was like, oh, like I was so famous for a week and it was positivity.
And I now I'm back to, you know, so I've already was so famous and then went away.
So I already know what that feels like.
So I, it's hard to even get excited that there is that light and opportunity.
So yeah, all these people are so nice now, but on a week Taylor Swift's new album
comes out, she has a baby with Travis Kelsey Kelsey the news shifts and you know, we're back to having no house and our friends have no house.
So it's just it's so amazing and just so awful. It's just the worst. Like, like you'll be like
so happy and you must be crying. So but yes, it's, you know, I don't care if all these people
hated me and now they say they love me. That's great. Yeah. Take, take all the love. I don't care if all these people hated me and now they say they love me, that's great.
I love it.
Yeah, take all the love.
I don't, you know.
But it is funny when certain people take so long,
there's people I've had to actually text,
like, hey, and I'm texting them and it just shows me,
and then they eventually do it
after being pretty much bullied
into them like what to post Heidi song like so it already had a very small circle but
it definitely got smaller after this experience.
Yeah, I think you know when you go through I mean I've gone through some stuff much much
nothing like this, you know, but, you know, you were one of those people
that, you know, you were one of those people that was like, no bullshit, you're my friend, like,
fuck all these people. And when you saw the people that weren't good to me, you didn't take a photo
with them and post it, you know, you turned away and you like you stay really true to
who you are and who you know are good people. And so to me, like I'm so happy that everyone
is seeing you for who you are and always has been, which is a wonderful husband, dad and
son and friend, you know, because people should know that
and you know, a neighbor and everything else and that you know, this was your your town
that you grew up in and it it was the most I always said it was the most idyllic place
to live. It wasn't on the beach, but you got the breeze. You didn't get the fog, but you
were closer to the city. It it it was so beautiful, but it wasn't pretentious.
It was such a special place, you know, the Palisades.
People always say to me, especially California haters, like, why do you live in California?
Why do you live in LA?
Why don't you move?
And I always say, I don't live there.
I live in the Palisades.
Because to me, it was like this utopia.
And again, people don't get, like, I grew up there. I went to preschool there
I know
everyone so then when like haters are like he's not doing anything for anybody but himself like
Do you know how many group chats I'm on with like?
every single person that lost their house and these like
So just that that's why you just know there's arsonists because the level of just demons in the comment section
Is just there are monsters on this earth. I'm like, so I have no doubt
There's people will burn a whole town down just based off of the frequency
You read in these comment sections. So
That's just the thing that is just
Like the town was perfect, and now I am like, you know,
even if we get a couple hundred million dollars and I is the biggest star in the
world, like what are we going to do? Like, is it worth living in California?
If I'm not in the Palisades and that's what we keep on, you know, I almost got
attacked last night in Santa Barbara in a Mexican restaurant. That would never
happen to me. Some guy tried to fight. I was just doing a tick tock in a closed restaurant and this guy starts threatening me. He's going to beat me up and come outside.
And it's like, that would never happen in the Palisades. That would never happen in my Don
Antonio's. So just being out of my safe zone, I'm already just not even a week into it. And people
are trying to threaten me and beat me up for no reason.
You know, it's just that guy knew that who you know, I don't even know you knew I think
he was just a crazy dude and crazy person.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, I want to talk to Heidi to is she available?
Okay.
Thank you.
Juicy's Cubers.
I love you.
Love all of you back and you.
Heidi.
First of all, you look very young and well rested for what you've been through.
You have no makeup on, but the hair looks cute and you look like you're 21.
Thanks.
I'll just rock with eggs.
This is what I got.
So I got the harrowing story of the last week of your life from your husband Spencer. But I want to switch the gears to some of the joy
that's come from the tragedy, which is,
so you did this album 15 years ago.
And I remember when you guys did that first video
on the beach where he filmed you and you sang that song.
Higher.
Higher, because we saw it was like one of the early years of
what I was on Chelsea lately and we did a parody of it.
And I got a peach tank Katie I didn't want to wear a bikini
so that I think my son was about one and a half at the
time so I wore a peach tank Katie and met our producer at
about one and a half at the time. So I wore a peach tankini and met our producer
at the beach in Malibu and on those same type of rocks.
And he filmed me and I was doing it.
And it was so early on that we,
I think I got a million views on YouTube,
our parody of you guys.
And of course I didn't know you until the last five years that I've known you guys. And of course, I didn't know you until the last like five years that I've know you like personally.
But in seeing everybody excited for you and playing your music and stuff, I think it's amazing.
But also what I think like the internet world is falling in love with is you guys as a couple
who have been together so long and they're, I'm seeing all these clips from
the hills of people saying, you know, Heidi, get away from Spencer. He's evil. And I kind
of want to ask you, like, what was that like back then? And how, what told you that he's,
how did you know not to believe those people and you knew the soul of the man that
would be your husband and father of your two boys?
That was, besides this, the most difficult thing.
You know, I really risked everything for Spencer then and he was new to my world, you know.
So I had these friends and I had these people and you know at first everyone
liked Spencer, right?
And everyone loved Spencer and he was great when Lauren and I were double dating and all
this stuff.
And then when Lauren decided nobody can like Spencer anymore, then everyone kind of hopped
on that train. And I do see a part of where they were coming from
because Spencer and I started scripting things
and no one was doing that in the show yet.
And Spencer and I would talk about it
and then I would see it and I really would get upset
even though he's like, okay, well, is it cool?
Should I like come in and make drama with some girls?
I'm like, yeah, totally like trying to be all cool. Sure, definitely, sure definitely let's do it, you know, and then you see and you're like
Oh my gosh, I'm actually not cool with this and now I'm really upset. I was pretending to be upset
so that was in the early onset of it and
They everyone just didn't like the
the produced
Segments, right and then they didn't like the produced segments, right? And then they didn't like that we teamed up
and we were really a team and it became the cast and then Spencer and I. And so everybody
wanted like a different agenda. But I always knew Spencer and I fell in love with him the
night I met him. He just has this charismatic, charming, smart, sexy, cool, confident. I mean, he's
just like that guy. Everybody loves Spencer, right? Like in the clubs and back then he
was like an it sought after bachelor and it was known like, oh, Spencer doesn't want a
girlfriend. I was like, I got this. You know, so I just loved Spencer from the minute and
he I've always
Spencer and known he has the biggest heart, you know Do you have a moment like you know like out of a movie like you met him?
Did you have a feeling like this is it was it? Yeah kind of a thing. Oh, yeah for me
It was it was like love at first I obsessed with him. I mean I had dated a few guys
You know, so I feel like I had a good gauge of...
But how old were you when you met him?
I was 19.
That is crazy.
Yeah.
And I just fell madly in love with him and it was so different and it was hard for me
to like stay interested in certain guy, you know what I mean?
But I met Spencer and I was just obsessed with him and it just was like a soul connection
for me and I really was just obsessed with him and it just was like a soul connection for me
and I really fell in love with him
and it was worth risking everything.
And people just didn't understand
and the cast didn't understand
and then once Lauren turned,
everyone had to side with her anyways.
And it was just, it was hard to navigate
but for me it was worth risking everything.
And you know, I'm, I have a deep faith and I really prayed about it a lot.
And I was like, all right, go ahead.
Am I making this up?
Is this the love of my life?
If not, then let me know.
And I always felt in my heart and my soul like,
no, this is it.
This is your person.
That's it's worth the risk.
And I think what people are really seeing,
even in small little Snapchats, I saw somebody
put together a video of it said, all the times Spencer, here's a mirage or whatever, here's
a collage of all the time Spencer has shown his being obsessed with Heidi.
And it was someone just put together all these little things of him just like saying things and like the subtle
things that now I feel like, you know, people love to see that with other couples, they they
they give them hope like, can I have something like that, that kind of dedication? And so,
you know, being that you guys both were TV people, and he was really one before you
because he was doing the princes of Malibu
and wanting to be a producer.
How did you guys come with like, wait a minute, you know,
you like to sing, you're gorgeous,
why can't you be the next pop star
and let's put our money into it and make it happen
when you guys did the album 15 years ago?
Like, how did that come about?
What kind of discussion was going on between the two of you?
I actually started doing music before I met Spencer.
So right when The Hills started, I was in voice lessons and I had a music manager and
I was going more down that Ashley Simpson route.
And Spencer's like, is this the type of music you want to do?
And I was like, no, I want to do pop, but this manager's saying, you know, and everyone had their parents this the type of music you want to do and I was like no I want to do pop But this manager saying you know
And I everyone had their parents be agents and managers and all this and I didn't I was by myself in Hollywood
My parents owned a restaurant were hard workers and they're like good luck
Really helped me with that. So um, yeah
I had this random music manager and Spencer's like I know David Foster and I can help you and I'll step in and do this.
And I was like, okay, well, if you can do it, great,
let's go.
And he just took the reins of it
and got me with David Foster.
And we actually had a record deal with Warner
that we ended up saying no to,
cause it was a 360 deal
and they wanted some of the Hills money.
And we were just like, all right,
let's try to go on our own.
And then we ended up getting distribution through Warner later. But we were with like very big dogs in the music
industry from the beginning. So Spencer really had more connections. And I always believed in
Spencer and it was hard because he was so young. So a lot of people wouldn't take him as serious.
But if he were older, he would have commanded a lot more respect naturally
because people just don't give that to younger people. But I think now everyone can see what a
genius he has been this whole time and what a hard worker and no one can hustle like him.
But also he was young and blonde and like picturesque for a
California surfer with that raspy little surfer voice. So that's not exactly like
what you see as like a Hollywood agent either. That's not the typical look there
either. So I can imagine why they're like, what's this little, you know, surfer kid
rolling up, you know, talking about his hot girlfriend and why she should be a star. So when all this started to happen and you guys are, you know, in in this other house,
you know, barely any sleep, two little kids, your boys are seven and two. And you start
seeing that like actually this movement of streaming your songs and your album is is really getting up there.
What was your thought is like what has been your feeling towards these this last week
of that part of your life?
Well last year is really when it hit me that my music was taking off and that was the beginning
not like right now but we got a huge check in the mail and I was like, Oh my gosh, like
what has happened? They're like, yeah, you're trending in China and internationally. And,
you know, I've done a few performances this year and we've been back in the studio because
people are wanting new music and there's like this cult following of my album. And I've had
people come up to me and my performances, like, you don't know, you gave me such escapism, you
actually helped save my life. I've had people say that to me about my music.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, if I did my music to help one person through their adolescence
or to give them hope or escapism, then it was worth it, you know, plus it started making
an income.
So that was incredible.
And then we've been preparing for the 15 year anniversary of Super Official for like six
months.
Right.
So that's great.
And I was this month and the timing was just really ironic and crazy.
And so to have Spencer be able to rally the nation and the world behind him with his heart
and his hustle towards our family and everybody
putting that towards streaming my music has been amazing and such a payoff of
Such hard work and dedication and so much we've put into that and it's like our only hope right now
To like rebuild like our family, you know, so
to have people step back and be able to see us in a different light instead of just throwing
negativity at us like we have experienced so much of, it's just been a really big blessing
and a nice shift to have that support for the first time.
Well, I'm seeing a lot of fun comments and thoughts of besides you continuing with your music of people wanting to, you know, see more of your family and you.
So a couple of things that have been thrown out, I want to ask you, would you
do, would you do dancing with the stars?
I would.
I'm a good dancer.
I think that would be really fun to see your three blonde men in little suits watching
you on the sideline.
I really think that is a moment.
Yes.
Okay, so you would do that good.
Someone said that you guys should both do it.
I go, they can't both do it at the same time because someone has to be with the kids.
You guys are so hands hands on with your kids.
So I vote for you first.
I think the outfits would be better.
Another something I saw in the comments was if you're to do a reality show to call it
the Prats from scratch starting over.
I think that's a really cute name. That's good. I think there's a lot of versions
of some type of reality show in following you,
whether it's following, it could be everything.
I don't think you need a big group of people around you,
like when the hell's returned,
because we can follow your music,
we can follow, you know, stay at home dad Spencer, but and all of that he's so
entertaining. But then also, you know, whatever this rebuild is, as a as a community as an HTV,
as like, what's a trend, what's not even what kind of houses to build, that might be a different
style, because they will
be more protective against future fires and things like that. I think there could
be so many interesting things in which we can continue to follow you with part
two of you know your life. So what do you think of all those things? Are you down
for that? Yeah I would love that. I think Dancing with the Stars,
I said to Spencer, I'm like, we both did it be so funny. Like, you know, we could get a,
because it's not as much as you think. I heard. Okay. Then both of you guys, both.
But Spencer was like, no, because I wouldn't make it past the first week because he can't memorize
things. He can't memorize like songs or moves. Like he has brain works so well with so many other things
that like I'm rising things is in a strong suit but I was like if you get it
or I get it one of us is going on for sure um the reality show thing is hard
because I would love that and we've just been in this industry for so long and
you see that like the hype and people are excited, but it's hard to
See it translate. So like I'm hopeful but I don't know it's it's it's
Definitely challenging to get a reality show But we are gonna rebuild our house fireproof because our neighbor's house is the only house that stood by and it's still there
Completely unscathed because he's the architect and they built a fireproof house
and he already agreed to rebuild our house. Well I hope that almost I would say I hope all the houses
do something like that or I saw this thing in Japan where the houses have their own like
water system to spray it like from the outside and things like that. But I do also feel bad for the few people whose houses did stay. Because
I'm like, what is that like, you know, to be there and, and smoke
inhalation or to just hear construction or, you know, I
mean, you're happy that you got a house and your stuff is in it
and you're, you know, you're not 100% displaced, but like, it's
just, you know, like just so awful all around. But the fact and you're not 100% displaced, but it's just
just so awful all around.
But the fact that the good things
are that there were alerts, that people did leave.
Of course, there are deaths, a lot of deaths still.
But a lot of people were saved because they
had the system with the iPhone of like, evacuate now,
get out now.
And we were all a batches of nerves.
I'm lucky enough that it didn't come to my neighborhood.
But to just have those alerts go off all the time.
I mean, it's just like everyone is like, you can tell just even people that weren't affected
by it, but you see them a week later, like everyone's eyes are sunken in and this, you
know, it's just a different oh it's awful so well
our alerts didn't go off soon enough and we stayed almost too late so um
thankfully our babysitter our nanny came in at with Ryker and she's like there's
a fire and we had no idea and then we look outside and there are huge clouds
of smoke everywhere. And we're
like, Oh my gosh, like if she hadn't come in with him, we wouldn't even have known.
And then we're like, do we pack? Do we not pack? Or is it over the hill? Is it going
to come this close? Like it was really confusing. And I don't know if Spencer told you, but
Gunner had 104 fever and I had been up with him three nights in a row putting him in the
bath trying to cool down his body all throughout the night like waking him up
and so he was so incredibly sick and Spencer's like put on the news I'm like
I can't he's so lethargic and so sick the only thing he can do is even like
sit here and watch TV and drink water like I'm concerned about my son going to
hospital you know so there was like so son going to hospital, you know, so
there was like so much going on. And then, you know, Spencer's like, it's fine, it's fine. The
airplanes were coming. And I was like, okay, then, you know, I brought two pairs of jeans because I
was like, I'm coming back. Like, what am I and how do you even choose? Like you're so overwhelmed with.
But yeah, it's a lot. I know your two-year-old is young, but your seven-year-old, it was a really cute scene
when you gave him that you had kept his little cute little tooth thing from the tooth fairy.
But how has he, does he understand or what do you tell a seven-year-old who's never
going to go back to his school or anything or to his grandparents' house. What has that been as a mom?
I'm actually gonna, and I'm writing a children's book
on this to help kids.
Oh, I love that.
Through trauma and how to emotionally deal with it
and your parents and stuff like that.
And my mom's a psychologist
and I have another writer helping me
because I'm like, there's no books for this.
But you know what I just, I told him, you know,
there's a fire and he understands
and he's old enough to understand.
And you know, he saw the smoke.
So he did know and we had to just be like, you know,
I'm so sorry, but the house didn't make it.
And you know, and then we just one thing at a time you know not
like okay there's a fire that your school's gone your house is gone it's like okay and then a few
hours later it's like buddy I'm so sorry but also this you know part of your school was you know
taken by the fire and we're not going to be able to go back there but we're going to have a new
school and letting him like mourn himself and have
those feelings but also like trying to give him hope and a good insight and I've seen
him cry a few times and I've really tried to validate that you know and like let him
cry and have those emotions and tell him like it's okay to be sad and this is really hard
and you are going through a lot. So I wanna confirm his feelings, let him have it
and then also be like, and what's good
and what would make you feel better and what would you do?
The next day I took him to Target.
I'm like, he's obsessed with his toys.
I'm gonna take him and have him feel like he has toys
and I can just lose everything.
So I'm like, all right, let let's go let's go get you new toys and you know I've tried really hard to not constantly cry around him and sometimes I'm like it's okay for him to see me cry I don't want to be like completely distraught around him you know so I'm trying to balance that as well because my my priority is like my kids, my son, getting him in school,
making sure like Spencer's drinking water and sleeping, you know, so like.
I'm really focused on the house and like our our family and making sure everyone's OK.
Well, I think you guys are just like giving a lot of people hope. And we love you as,
you know, friends and entertainers and as a family. You guys have a beautiful family
and a beautiful marriage. And I think people really love seeing how you have had each other's
back and your community's back and how people are, you know
Rallying around and your music is really fun
And you're really you're really gorgeous and a truly sweet person and a great mom and wife and
You know, I'm I'm here and I hope that we can
You know do something fun and go out to dinner or whatever or I can
Or I can weasel my way into Dancing with the Stars and watch the boys while you dance
But I I know there's gonna be good stuff and you know your your mother-in-law is such a wonderful
juicy scooper and she
DMS me all the time Spencer's mom and
I'm just so you know I'm just so sorry for them as well. But you guys are an awesome family,
and everyone's rooting for you.
And I thank you so much for taking the time.
I know you had to get your son, and you guys are just still
running on probably no sleep.
So thank you for taking the time to do Juicy Scoop.
And we all love you.
The Juicy Scoopers are doing everything
they can to pray and do everything they can.
Thank you.
Thank you for your support
and all the content and everything really helps.
So we appreciate that.
And we definitely wanna build back our community.
All of our friends, like Spencer's mentioned,
have lost everything.
So it's really a community that we wanna help get back.
And we're trying to reach out to charities
and our friends too.
And we're like, all right, how do we rebuild our lives and
Everything else so we definitely will be looking at that. But meanwhile, thank you for streaming
Supporting us and you know, we're we're really blessed to be alive. We're really I'm glad Spencer got out of there
He stayed too late. I thought that was dark for a moment and I had to,
that was crazy.
So yeah, I'm so thankful.
You know, I just have to like stop sometimes.
I'm like, okay, feel the sun, take some deep breaths,
have some water, like be in the moment right here.
Just like forget the past, forget the future.
Just like breathe, calm down, you know,
like just the little things you gotta focus on too.
But anyways, thank you.
Thank you for your time and yeah, dinner.
We'd love that if you're in Santa Barbara.
Dancing with the stars, whatever comes.
All right.
Love you so much.
Love to Spencer and the boys.
Bye.
All right.
Thank you.
Bye.
