Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have lots to catch up after we missed last week, although we did film an episode. It just did not make its way out to you guys. So if you are on the Patreon bonus content, we're basically refilming that episode this week and talking about all the good stuff that we missed the previous week. There was a lot going on that week. So if you want to see that and catch up with us still, come see us in the Patreon bonus content. But here we are. we are officially in the Burr month.
Starting point is 00:00:34 I'm so happy. I love a Burr month. Same. And just in case anyone's wondering, I will quickly rapid fire off a few key points and dates for October because the 31 nights of Halloween did drop on free form. So if you're interested, haunted mansion, the 2003 best version, in my opinion, is going to be on October 2nd evening. It is the best off. So much better than a new one.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Love the new one. 100%. Hocus pocus is on multiple, multiple. times, but pretty much catch that every evening. Yeah, so if you want to look that up, that is out now, and that's what we'll be doing next month. Yeah. But for now, what we did this past week, we have already gone to two cider mills, I fear,
Starting point is 00:01:19 in the Burr months. Which is, I feel like we are doing our due diligence and we are being proactive and we are beating the crowds. You know what? I will say that's true. I took Elliot to Yates last weekend. The weekend before this past weekend. Point is, no one was there, and it was a great experience.
Starting point is 00:01:40 It's so nice. And it was Elliot's first cider mill experience where he could actually have cider and donuts. I fear he is not a sweets kid, so the donuts were not really for him. But that's like his mama, because I do not. I prefer salty over sweet, and I think that's him with his. Fice? Fice? Fice.
Starting point is 00:02:00 He had fries for the first time. That's fries. He did like the cider, though. He's never had anything except water. This was big deal for him. But I will say, I'm kind of proud. He didn't, like, chug it down. I was, like, nervous.
Starting point is 00:02:15 I'm like, this kid's going to just take this whole thing. But he didn't. He just, like, was kind of reluctant about it. I'm sure that won't last forever, but for now it is what it is. Also, for Labor Day, we just kind of hung out with Family kind of laid low. And football starts this week. So we've got our lines here on.
Starting point is 00:02:36 And we are hoping for a week one win. Mm-hmm. But let's get into some local drama that has to do with football. And I know we don't all watch college football, but we can all relate on a thing or two about gaslighting. And this was a classic case scenario of some gaslighting going on with the U of football couldn't get any closer to home truthfully um u of m ended up winning their game against western michigan and it was a really big deal because the entire game western michigan was winning and everyone
Starting point is 00:03:15 thought game was over time ran out and they had won however suddenly out of nowhere one second appeared back on the clock although there was no one second um and that's where the gas led comes into play because how is there one second when there wasn't one second you can't just make up time but they did and they ended up scoring a touchdown and somehow winning the game this was actually like such a big deal nationally no because it was the single most embarrassing thing i've ever watched on tv and i say that lovingly brian as you know big michigan guy big Michigan football guy. And I told him, as this was happening, oh, Brian,
Starting point is 00:04:06 why, why in this world are the students storming the field as if they just won the national championship? As if this was like some big rivalry game, they just played what, they just got crushed. That might be a little dramatic, but like, by Western Michigan, no offense. to Western, but like, that's an upset. That's a big upset. So why are we storming the field? Like, this was a grand defeat. Like, I felt embarrassed for Western having already celebrated, had already
Starting point is 00:04:41 claimed, which like, as they should, there was no time left on the clock. So actually what ended up coming out of this because I was, I literally just looked this up before the podcast because I know that they were talking about doing something that they hadn't done in like 60 something years crazy. where at the NCAA, somebody challenged this after the fact and wanted to overturn the game. When to get taken away. And so I guess now what they have done is said, they made a statement saying that the official time for all college football games is the time displayed on the in stadium game clock. Because I guess the officials use the replay clocks. Yeah, they weren't synced correctly.
Starting point is 00:05:22 And they were not synced correctly. And so that's supposedly how this all came to be. They said that they will not overturn the win because they don't have that authority. I genuinely don't think a win has ever been overturned in NFL history, in college. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I am fairly confident based on my light research I did on TikTok that that has never happened because I feel like there's been instances we're like even with Lions games. Like there's calls that are made and afterwards everyone's like, no, that absolutely shouldn't
Starting point is 00:05:53 have happened but doesn't overturn the game. But I will say I think this is the first time that I've ever really been part of a rhetoric after a game where not only did the winning teams fans agree, like everybody agreed universally. Except for the students rushing the field. I guess, but I think in the moment they were thinking that like hyped up. Yeah, like super hyped up. I don't think they were really thinking about the afterthought. But every single Michigan fan that I know was like, yeah, no, we should have lost that. game and I've never been a part of that the fact that Brian could admit like correct no I don't think we should have won was a bit alarming to me that was like okay as soon as that happened so like we were watching the game Evans family was over and as soon as we all in the room like agreed one way that like they should not have one I was like oh damn this is about to be some national news and it is and it is so yeah so yeah
Starting point is 00:06:55 Yeah, that's what happened over here if you are not into college football. Apparently gaslighting can happen anywhere these days. But more on some football drama because Rex and Berrios, good old NFL player, he has reentered the chat. Has he, though? He's solidified that he is not going to be getting back with Alex Earl. And I guess at the end of, so Earl Meets World came out. We talked a little bit about her Netflix show who was coming out.
Starting point is 00:07:24 Did we talk about that last week? Maybe the week before. We've maybe been talking about it a bit. We've been mentioning that it was coming out. It finally did come out last week. And we did not get to talk about it. So we have more to say in the bonus content if you want to see that. But what just happened this week was kind of an update and a repercussion of that airing.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Because the ending of Earl Meets World was her basically asking Braxton if they would ever get back together. Because I guess when they broke up, that was like a. conversation of him being like, well, we're not getting back together if we break up. And she kind of like reached back out and wanted to know like, is there a chance now? Like we've been not together for a long time. Like would we ever get back together? Do you think? Yeah. And I guess it ended with him saying like, oh, Alex. And then everyone was trying to be like, is this a good, oh, Alex? Is it a bad oh, Alex? Yes. And it was up in the air. Everyone's like, what did he mean by that? Oh, could they get back together? Well, he clarified that because he spotted out with Lando Norris's ex-girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:08:29 So if you remember this past summer, when Alex was single, everyone thought she was maybe dating Lando Norris, the NASCAR driver, because they were spotted together. Like, where, I don't know where they are. I don't know. On a trip maybe. Somewhere. Or in Europe.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Partying in Europe. As one single. Yeah. As one does. And apparently. Apparently. that's what I was. And so everyone thought maybe they were dating. And I guess this past week, his ex-girlfriend, I want to say her name's McGee. I don't know if I'm pronouncing it correctly.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I think you are. Was with Braxton in New York. Yeah. And a bunch of pictures. Everyone's bought them out. They're at multiple locations together. So that leads me to believe it wasn't really a stage situation. Right. Like people saw them at multiple locations. like hotel. Yep. It wasn't just like, out to dinner, this. Yeah, like, I feel like sometimes you'll get those, like, what do they call them, back grid photo shoots where, like, people set, like, celebrities set them up.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Oh, I've heard that term. Oh, I've heard this. I see it, like, on TikTok where it's like, I don't know, so-and-so strolling their baby in the park. Oh, yeah, and it's clearly like they called the pop. Yeah. And so I feel like with those, it's always like you see a thousand pictures. but they're all in like the same location. Yeah, within like two minutes span, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:55 Yeah, it's like within a one block, they go walking. Yep. This was not one of those cases. So I guess Alex Earle caught wind of this. She unfollowed Braxton, which she hasn't done up to this point. So that was a big deal. And then I think McGoo, McGee, I'm saying McGoo. Because, dude, because, no, I'm pretty sure I saw like a TikTok of Dave Portnoy.
Starting point is 00:10:20 You know how he'll, like, Ramley do like tea by the C or tea by the racetrack or whatever he does now? He popped up and he was calling her, like, Magoo. Of course he was. I know. Doesn't surprise me. So I was like, that's in my head. Anyways, they're all on following each other now. So that kind of puts to rest the O Alex.
Starting point is 00:10:39 And everybody coming out too was saying that I feel like this could either be a good setup for a season two of our old meets world, you know, kind of coming back around. Maybe. Or this is just the end for them. I think it might be. I mean, I think it's the end for them for now. I feel like if they were to get back together, it would be later on down the road. Because I feel like if the O Alex was like
Starting point is 00:11:08 alluding to like him being interested in getting back together, which I don't think it was, I feel like they filmed long enough ago. I feel like there was a big enough gap that they would have already been back together. and they're clearly not. Like that bone conversation, in my mind, happened months ago,
Starting point is 00:11:25 like six months ago. They've been teasing Earl Meets World, I feel like for quite some time. The filming happened in, what, January? Yeah, I feel like it has been a long time leading up, so potentially. But she just actually did a collab with her skincare brand, Real Activ's, with Caleb from Love Island.
Starting point is 00:11:44 Yeah, they look cute together. And people are saying that she, potentially drop this on purpose to get back at Braxton after what he just did because it seemed like there wasn't a lot of lead up or marketing to this coming out. Like a lot of times if a brand's going to drop something, there's like teasers and you kind of get a feel for like who's going to be collabing with them. And it kind of feels like she just launched this out of nowhere with him. Totally. It did. So people are like, oh, was she like trying to get back and take like the spotlight back from Brexon because of what just happened? I think so.
Starting point is 00:12:19 She was also posting, I think it was earlier today, she posted a TikTok with like some sound that, now I'm gonna say Magoo, that like... McGee. McGee had used. Yes. Yeah, there was like some kind of drama with like, okay, Alex is like almost Easter egging that like,
Starting point is 00:12:40 I don't know, just about the situation. They're like sub-tweeting each other with TikTok sounds. Sub-tik-toking. Yeah, that's basically what's happening now. It's all breaking. news. So I wonder if this was all timed out for that. Probably.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I'm sure it'll continue to unfold throughout the rest of this week into next week. We shall see. We shall see. Today's episode is brought to you by Cozy Earth. I'm very excited to be working with Cozy Earth again because you guys already know I have their sheets and
Starting point is 00:13:11 genuinely love them. And I've told the story before, but when I first put them on the bed, Evan literally got in and immediately asked me what these sheets were. without me saying anything. So I feel like that tells you everything you need to know. They're so soft and smooth, but really lightweight and breathable, which is exactly what I want when I'm sleeping. And as a mom who's 18-month-old has still never slept through the night, when I do get in bed, I need it to be comfortable, and more importantly, I need to be able to get comfortable
Starting point is 00:13:37 and fall back asleep quickly. That's why I love cozy earth. They're made from viscos from bamboo and naturally wick away moisture, so they're great if you sleep hot too. Starting point is 00:14:09 Another thing that went super viral this week was the girl that was mad that somebody left her Pilates class seven minutes early. Dude. Did you see the original? Yes. Okay, and did you see like the parodies? Yes. Because I'm going to tell you what happened to me and I love when this happened.
Starting point is 00:14:24 You saw a parody first? I saw the parody first. And I instantly knew that it was going to be good. So I obviously went and found the original. But the parodies, I swear there will be times where I will get like 10 parodies of something and then finally like get the real one. But when you get a parody first, you like already know like, okay, this is about to be good. And so that's what happened to me. I found the original.
Starting point is 00:14:49 And as with the parody, everyone was just tearing her apart. No, they ripped her to shreds in the comments. And as a Pilates class goer, how do you feel about if someone else leaves your class early? Do what you got to do. Because guess what? Well, I'm like a big component, I feel like with the gym side tangent, is you don't know what's going on in somebody else's life.
Starting point is 00:15:17 not all like different abilities, disabilities, if you will, are visible. So that girl that's like getting up a couple minutes early, you don't know what she has going on. Maybe, maybe this is her first class back after some big injury. And you know what? It's just too much for her. She's got to get up and go, maybe this is the only time she can work out because her husband's watching her kid and then she has to get the kid to school
Starting point is 00:15:44 and then she has to go to work. like, and this is the one 50 minutes she has for herself, and God forbid she has to leave five minutes early. So mind your business. Did it impact you? Is your class any worse because somebody had to get up and leave? Maybe she had to go to the bathroom. Maybe she was about to throw up.
Starting point is 00:16:02 There are hundreds of thousands of reasons. Why someone might leave early. And did that impact your life? Did she do something directly pointed at you? I saw the comments. I feel like number one comment was, well, wish you your ride? Because like, if not, why do you care?
Starting point is 00:16:19 Why do you give up? Yeah. That's kind of how I felt. I also feel like... I get so heated about things like that. I feel like what I kind of felt in this situation as a new mom. And like I, workout classes I haven't really been doing in like a long time. Like, randomly I'll do them for fun, like with friends.
Starting point is 00:16:38 But like I haven't done them in a long time. And especially like postpartum, I think like a big thing that stopped me from going back into it. I'm like, I haven't worked out in so long. Like, are other people in the class going to notice that, like, I'm taking a break or I'm not doing it as much? I think, like, a group fitness class, especially if, like, you are going through something, there, you already feel a lot of mental pressure. Like, are other people in the class, like, noticing I'm not doing this or doing, and, like, people like this is just the worst. Like, you just came online and made somebody else so insecure about something that you have no idea why they did that. Correct. For no reason.
Starting point is 00:17:15 like it's just when I saw that I also got like so mad but I was just like you have no clue it's it was clear in the comments though that we were not alone in no I feel like this pisses a lot of people off it's like the people who secretly record or take photos of people at the gym and put it online to make like fun of them like I like it yeah it enrages me and this girl enraged me it was funny though because I went to like some of her other videos on her page I've been doing that lately too. Like if somebody like will come up on my thing randomly with like a viral video and it missed me off like I'll go see like is this all their content or like they rage baiting. I do that often too. If I feel like I'm being rage baited, I'm like I just need to check to see if this is all they do because I saw one video recently. I feel like you probably saw it too. It was a couple driving the car and the woman was like pregnant and they were going to go tell the in-laws. like we're having a baby but it's not we're having a baby because it's another it's another father
Starting point is 00:18:22 this could be a whole shady story and that's what like the comments we're all like what is happening because like she was kind of being mean to the guy about it it was like this whole it almost was like it was a couple but she was saying like but he's not the dad he's not the dad he's not the dad yes and i had to go to their profile after because i go this has got to be an ongoing bit yeah And it seemed as if it was an ongoing potentially. It could be the true story and they are profiting off of it. But there were a lot of other videos like it. And then it's like, maybe it's rage.
Starting point is 00:18:56 That's what I did with the Pilates class girl. Because I was like, is all her video just like rage baiting? Were they? But no. But then all the comments were everyone being like, oh, well, you should have only stayed for seven minutes. I don't know. Just like they just kept going with the Pilates comments. It all had to do about like, well, she probably left seven minutes early or just something crazy.
Starting point is 00:19:20 It's tough and it's tough because I have been known to if I see a comment. Like it? Yeah, because I'm like, go get them. But I'm like, and then I feel guilty. I'm like, you know what? I shouldn't play into it. I know. It's difficult, but like I just, I'm just a silent lurker and I lurk in the comments and then I'll lurk on the page and be like, okay.
Starting point is 00:19:41 They're just not letting go. No, they won't. No, they won't. But on the topic of the wellness community, I also saw this this week. And this one kind of hit close to home, too, because I noticed the flagging in the background was, it was our sorority. Our sisters. I'm not claiming them a part of this. So they had a wellness dardy with a fraternity.
Starting point is 00:20:04 And this went pretty viral because everybody was, you know, not to sound old, but back in our day. Back in my day. A dardy was not meant. for wellness. And there was no place for wellness and a dardy. No. So basically they had like a wellness dardy and they did like it appeared. They were doing like yoga or stretching on the lawn and then they all did like a run together.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah. And those comments also were absolutely hilarious. But I just was wondering like one, I can't fathom this. I could have never pictured. Like the things we were doing in college and what dardies entailed. Yep. I could never imagine if somebody, if somebody said we're having a wellness dardy, we would all have dressed up as if we were going to a Pilates class.
Starting point is 00:21:00 But we would have done no such thing. Yes. And it would probably have like a very catchy name to it. Correct. Yeah, I can actually, I can think of the names that such a party may have been called, that I may have attended. Correct. But there would have been
Starting point is 00:21:13 no actual partaking in any fitness. No. It would have just been like the outfits. Yeah. It would just be outfits and then
Starting point is 00:21:20 dardy behavior. Correct. But would we actually be running? Maybe if we were running from house to house from the cap. I'm sure some people would.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Maybe if we were running from one dardy to the next. Literally. I don't know in any other circumstance but I was wondering like, is this a thing now?
Starting point is 00:21:42 Because we've talked about, it seems like the younger generation, like doesn't... Well, they don't drink as much, I feel. No, they're not into drinking. They're into their clean girl, 10-step skincare routine. They're into matching workouts.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Nothing wrong with that. No, but time and place. No, time and place. And I don't know if it's... I mean, maybe I could have benefited from a life like that in college. And that was my other point is like... Are you jealous that, like,
Starting point is 00:22:10 they have like skin care routines and like go to Pilates classes and then like drink a matcha and then maybe they party after. No, because you can do all that now and you're not in. You only get that time what? You know what? I think our generation and this is going to be this is going to be like something that I'm sure every generation says. I truly think we've had the best experience, not even just growing up because people say a lot
Starting point is 00:22:38 we had the best experience growing up. because like computers, technology wasn't really a thing, but it was enough to where like we got to use computers. We had like the benefits of it, but not the- Yes, but not like the negatives. And like, then we had like a really fun like college exchange. Some people will say, and it's probably because all people saying this went to college at this time that like.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Because it's our 2014, 2018 peak college time. But it was. We didn't have to go through COVID in college. And then in our adult life, now that we are. like out of the party scene we're not you know dardying if you will um you're there i mean depends on once in a blue moon one maybe maybe a cider or two um who's gonna stop no one's gonna stop us but now in our adult life it's like trendy to go to like workout classes and our matching it's like the perfect time to care about wellness yeah care about i'm like i just feel like the stars have
Starting point is 00:23:38 aligned with like our specific generation and I wouldn't call us Gen Z or Millennials I think we are like a zillennial to a T like right in the middle I've never used that term oh I have because we're in the middle we have
Starting point is 00:23:53 we definitely have attributes of both we are not hard for millennials like we did not like I don't know I feel like there's some very specific millennial things that we did not ever partaken? Perhaps. But also, speaking of all that and on the topic of like the younger generations,
Starting point is 00:24:15 this has been driving me insane lately. I'm so excited that this is cross your death. I'm going to show my age here. What it's going on with the squishes? Squishes and fidget. What is going on? If you have not gone down Mrs. Benches, real life fidget training. No. Trading, not training. I was on this probably like, maybe even in July. Like I came across real-life fidget training, and it's like with the needles, with like... Just to clarify, in case you're also our age,
Starting point is 00:24:50 and you have no clue what a squish is. It's literally just... Like a block of dough. Jelly like... I don't even know. Sometimes they look like stuffed animals. Sometimes they just look like little balls that you can squish or squares.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Nitos are all their age. But... You can only get one at Target when they get the new stripments in. Really? But like it is to the point where, yeah, they're limiting quantities. People in, the reason that I saw it was because we apparently have a seven brew, like, coffee place and they released a Nito. And so, like, the line down the road was miles long to get this, you know.
Starting point is 00:25:31 I've been knowing about this. I have never, like, I just really miss the days where. Like silly bands. We didn't get, we would watch a commercial on Nickelodeon or Disney and that would tell us what we like wanted. But then like to actually go through the process of like telling your parent what it was and then like being like, can we go to the store and get it? Webkins. And then you went to the store and go. Do you remember when you had to call a hallmark to see if they had Webkins available?
Starting point is 00:25:59 No. I wasn't that big into. I was big into Webkins and they were hard to find when those bad boys came out. And you had to call the hallmark, which I imagine people are doing with Target, too, like, hey, did you get any shipments of the webkins in? What animals do you have? But that's fine to me because that's, like, good old fashion. You have to do the work to go find it. Like, but sometimes I'm like, it's still, it's because of the internet now, it's just everywhere all at once.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Everyone's like, okay, I need this and this is what's happening. And the trend cycle goes a bit quicker. It goes so fast. Like Labibos. Those were all the rage blind boxes are huge. huge, but now it's fidgets. And Miss Bench, we'll have to watch a video. A fidget is like a needo, but it could be anything.
Starting point is 00:26:46 It could also be like a poppet. Miss fidget seems to think, if you know, you know. These little smelly scratch sticks are fidgets, but it could be like a very wide ring. She has a store in Florida. And in her store, she films these TikTok with kids. You don't really see the kid's face. Sometimes you do.
Starting point is 00:27:04 And she has this pad of paper. And it's like, they, Kid has their side, she has her side, and you put, like, your items in the middle, and there's an X, an plus mutton, or an accept. So she'll be like, I'm going to add this needo. What do you add? And they'll be like, I bring this dumpling. Like, ooh, that's a nice dumpling.
Starting point is 00:27:25 But add, please, more please. And then, like, the kid will add more. And then she'd be like, ooh, I think that that's maybe too much for it. Let me add this fidget. And then to be like, do you accept? I've seen people. Have you seen the mocking of it? Yes, I've seen people doing their like random household items.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Yes, and it's like their roommate. Yeah. No, it is so like she has like very specific like tone with like the way she articulates like how she does it. It's a dick. I went through a phase of watching this like every night before I went to sleep. All the trades. And there was one little boy that got her good. He was like, no, you're giving me trash.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Like you need to add. Like he told her. I wish I'd remembered his name. Whole thing. That's crazy. No, I liked the, I've seen the trading, and I actually thought about, like, should we do this? Because I thought it was hilarious. Of, like, roommates, like, just trading random stuff.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Like, just, like, should we do that on, like, bonus contact? The Bonnet Fest next week, I'll bring, like, a top bag of items. Like, I feel like it would make sense if you had, like, for us, a lot of times, I'm I fear that we will like buy an outfit thinking we're going to go somewhere. Then we don't go somewhere. Like I have a few items that I could think of that are like newer like clothes that I never wore or like. And I feel like we could do some tradesies or like makeup that I've never used that I thought. And like how hilarious would that be to be like more please?
Starting point is 00:28:57 No, it would be hilarious. But yeah, no, I've seen that. I've seen like the spoofs of it. And sometimes it's so random. It's like my orange. Yes. All these people are making fun of are like parodying Mrs. Bench. You have to find the originals and you will,
Starting point is 00:29:15 will pee your pants. Great. So funny. Well, speaking of parodies, people are now calling Stella Lefty, Stella Fifty. That's so unfortunate. It's so bad, you guys.
Starting point is 00:29:27 We talked about this a few weeks ago, I believe, where Stella Lefty, new artist, like, I fell into the trap. I was like, I liked her. I was telling you about her music. you know, the couple good songs, catchy. Boston. Then we thought she stole, allegedly, Noah Khan's stick season.
Starting point is 00:29:45 He was credited on the writing on that. And then now, like, I swear, every time I go on TikTok, there's a new song that she's supposedly, like, plagiarizing. And what I'm really gathering from this. Well, people are probably psychoanalyzing all her music right now and going out of their way to find comparisons. Doesn't mean it's not true. Right, but like
Starting point is 00:30:07 She got a microscope on her The talk is, is it Because she Maybe used AI to write some of her music And it pulled from these old songs And she didn't realize what they were We talked about this last week With Blake Shelton and I said
Starting point is 00:30:20 We're gonna get into some good AI music talk in the Bonus content Use AI when he's Country Girl shake it for me Well, girl shake it I think the main gist That I'm getting from this entire thing though
Starting point is 00:30:34 with Stella Leftley in particular. So, like, she at the core is a country pop artist. Correct. However, she's not from the country or the south. She... Everyone wants to be country these days. Right. So I think at the core that maybe the downfall for her is just going to be that...
Starting point is 00:30:54 Authenticity is what people... What makes people love an artist. Correct. Love anyone, really. And if you're having all these songs that sound not all... authentic to you that sound authentic to everyone else. And then also like just at your core, you're kind of making music that people are like, how does she have a country accent?
Starting point is 00:31:14 And she was like raised in Chicago or whatever the situation. I think that's what's going to make people like mad about this and also just not acknowledging it. But I guess we'll see. And I also, this was a conversation for bonus. But like we need to get into the AI music of it all because I think that's going to be. Shake it for me, girl, shake it for me. Simple mind.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Genius. Simple mind. It's not a stretch to think his new songs were made by that same mind. Nothing wrong with it. We love a tune. Correct. We love a beat. We'll discuss.
Starting point is 00:31:50 But yeah, so that's kind of what's going on there. And I think we've done enough shadiness for this episode. So let's get into shady stories, starting with shady story number one. I've been BFFs with one of my best friends for years, and there's this girl we know that follows us on Instagram and gives such hater vibes. Never likes, congratulates, but always judging, watching, and copying. Throwing shade, you know. So we joke on her and talk crap about her envious vibes, but somehow my best friend is always liking her post, reposting her stuff, commenting, etc. Like so fake.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I'm so turned off as a friend, especially with all the crap and stuff she's told me about her. not cutting her off as I normally would a person that is being mixy like that, but it's definitely giving shady vibes and I'm not feeling it. Am I being petty? I mean, where is the loyalty? And that's a fair question, because I myself big on loyalty. Correct. But this is what I will say about now with social media and like friendships and stuff. I see a lot of discourse online about people saying if you are my friend, but you're not liking, commenting, or whatever on my post, then like, are we really friends?
Starting point is 00:33:04 Or are we really friends? Or do you secretly, like, not support me? No, I see that a lot too, especially with, like, people who are, like, trying to, like, get into, like, content creation and stuff like then. They're like, well, my friends aren't liking all of my things and commenting 24-7.
Starting point is 00:33:22 It's like, are they really commenting on anybody's things 24-7? I feel like there's got to be a balance. There has to be. we can't expect all of our friends to comment on all of our things every single time 24-7. Don't get me wrong. If this was MySpace top eight days, I would expect to be in my friend's top eight. But this is a different era because... We have evolved from the top eight.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Well, one, what I will say is, like, half the time I don't see my friend's stuff in the algorithm. And also, I'm not really using it. Like, I mostly use stuff to go on for work or, like, look up TikTok stuff. business it's a business only but no I honestly will like not see it and then like days later it'll pop up but then I'm like that's embarrassing I'm not gonna like something from five days ago like fair or comment on something from five days ago fair so then sometimes I don't but I mean it depends what it is like obviously if I'm like really close with them I will but like other friends I'm like I'll like your stuff from like years ago it'll pop up on like when this happened did you just post this
Starting point is 00:34:28 So I was like one year ago. No, so I feel like there is like to an extent. Yeah. But I think where it is becoming something like this is because everyone is so like chronically online, sometimes it's hard to believe that someone doesn't see your stuff. And so you do question. Like it's another layer of questioning friendship that you said not exist. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:50 No, it is. It's like a very, it's like we're, it's new waters for us. New waters. It's definitely new waters. It kind of gives, like, when you hang out with people and then you're having anxiety and you're like, oh my gosh, did I say something wrong? Are they mad at me? They hate me. And like this kind of solidifies it, even if it's not true. Six minutes instead of two minutes to answer your text after you hung out, you're like.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah, what did I, what did I say? So in this instance, though, I feel like. I don't. I still don't like it. This is, you're not being petty in this instance, though. No, because why is she fraternizing with the enemy? Right. We are so serious about enemies these days.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I don't care. If you don't like someone, I hate them more than you do. If I don't like someone, say. I'm thinking you probably don't like them either. That's correct. And guess what? That's, some people say grow up, mature. If someone didn't do something to you, then why does it matter?
Starting point is 00:35:50 You know what? Well, if they're going to hurt my best friend, someone that is loyal that I love and care about, why would I care about them? Why? True, true. I don't even think it's that in this instance for me, though. I think it's like if you're talking crap about somebody to me, and then I find out that you're actually friends with them,
Starting point is 00:36:12 my instant thought is that I'm going to think you're talking crap about me. Yeah, like my extended family on Facebook. That's crazy. I know they all talk crap about each other, and then you see them like, oh, you look so, like, I love you so much. You're so, like, what? Like, yeah, and you're like, I mean, I guess it's family, so it's a little different, but, like, it's just like, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:36:34 Yeah. I just think in that situation, I personally, I remember not being friends with people over this exact reason in high school, because I was like, if you're talking this much crap to me and then you're their best friends secretly, and I don't know, like, you're definitely talking crap about me. It is wrong. And let me tell you one thing. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:58 Exactly. Good point. And shady story number two. The night before our wedding, we went bar hopping after the rehearsal dinner. I retired earlier than others and told everyone to have fun and be safe. The next morning, while getting ready, I hear rumblings that one of my bridesmaid was missing. My mom's upset. My bridesmaids are upset, but not me.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I was getting married in two hours. About 45 minutes before the wedding, who blows you? in looking green in the gills, but said bridesmaid. Dishevelled and hung over. She made it on time, but she had to sit down during the ceremony because she felt sick. After the ceremony, we went bar hopping, typical Wisco wedding, and I find out she hooked up with a Green Bay Packer the night before. All of the groomsmen had fun giving her shit.
Starting point is 00:37:52 End of story. Hell no. She ended up sleeping with the groomsmen during our reception. And before our gift opening the next day, by the way, he was engaged. Train wreck. I will say. We were pretty chill brides. We were very chill brides.
Starting point is 00:38:13 And it's not even just us saying this. I feel like we were told by other people. Yeah. We were very chilled brides. I had one of my friends in particular said, I did not expect you to be this chill. You are very calm. And you were also very calm. Yeah, I feel like we were good, but in no circumstances in no world, would I be as chill as this bride?
Starting point is 00:38:34 No, no, no, no. If somebody was missing, see ya. I don't think I would be. Go get an IV. Go take a nap. Do your business. You don't need to be walking down the aisle. But, like, I almost feel like there is a line that it crosses where, like, now you're just being reckless to where you're taking attention off of,
Starting point is 00:38:56 the wedding or why everyone's here and you're trying to make it about you. And it's not about you. And I feel like I've been a part of, I've been at a wedding where I saw this take place. Yeah. And like I got mad for the bride. And I wasn't even in the circumstance. And honestly, the bride didn't care. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:12 But like, it started to get to the point where I was like, you just trying to cause attention for yourself? Correct. You have 365 days in a year. You can be messy on any of those, but why? Like, when you were a bridesmate, I don't know. I take that. I take that seriously.
Starting point is 00:39:29 If I know I'm being a bridesmaid, like, I am trying to, like, my best to get, like, all my electrolytes in the next, like, the day before. There's a level of responsibility. And if you don't want to do it, just don't do it. Yes. You don't need to be acting a fool. But that's another hot take that I think I have is, like,
Starting point is 00:39:45 I think it's okay for people to say they don't want to be a bridesmaid if you ask them. Oh, I think so, too. I just think, like, we are in such an era where you see this big, elaborate, like, asks, and I think people just feel pressured. And then... How do you're asking? I feel like, also, this is maybe a hot take of mine as well, I feel like sometimes, and it goes both ways with, like, the grooms or the brides, one of the two maybe has a bigger
Starting point is 00:40:14 wedding party than the other, and you're like, oh, crap. I need to make sure that we have the exact equal amount of people. So then they'll just, like, ask people. They'll start acting, asking, like, people that they're less close with. like less like more of an acquaintance or more of like a friend not like a best friend where like I feel like everyone I asked to be a bridesmate was not surprised and also though they would never do something like this because you're so close and that's I think maybe the issue in this situation like were you just not close hopefully you weren't because that's what happens with a lot of
Starting point is 00:40:49 these situations it's like people start asking all these people that they're not close with and then it like this goes down. Yeah. No, it couldn't be me. Never could be that chill, although I feel like we were a little. We were, we were very, very relaxed. Given all the things that, yeah, yeah, we were relaxed. Yeah. Well, sorry to hear that. Sorry to hear that. I don't know if you're still friends. Yeah, what, what Green Bay Packer was it? That's what I want to know. Details, detail. We know. You have a name. Tell us the name. We won't tell the guests the name. I want to know the name. Shady story number three.
Starting point is 00:41:31 My former friend wanted my husband and me to help him propose to his girlfriend, also our former friend. We agreed and took a hike with them where he wanted to propose. The trails were icy and what should have been a 30-minute hike down to a waterfall turned into a two-hour hike. We finally reached the destination where he wanted to propose and we were so excited for them. We took pictures and a video and it seemed perfect until we let them have some time alone to hike back up to where we started.
Starting point is 00:41:56 We heard her yelling at him and crying that she wanted him to wait until she got skinny to propose. We paused in our tracks, looked at each other, and I couldn't believe what we were hearing. She was losing her mind the entire way back to the car. We caught up to them, and she expressed how it wasn't what she wanted, even though she told him yes. We stayed out of it and then returned back to the cabin where we were staying. She then proceeded to tell him that the ring wasn't even the one she wanted.
Starting point is 00:42:22 He told her, you sent me this exact. ring and she said oh well i don't like the way it looks on my finger he then told her that she could hand it over and she said no and it was extremely awkward we were both in each other's wedding parties and things got rocky she kept the same energy during my wedding stuff and for her own for her bridal shower she made it clear that she wanted it to be a surprise her mom and sister planned everything and kept the bridesmaids out of the loop pretty much they hosted it at a restaurant where she really wanted to have it and scheduled it the same day as her hair and makeup trial so that she would be all done up. She walked in and everyone yelled surprise and she immediately poured and threw a fit.
Starting point is 00:43:01 I think it's supposed to say pouted. And she immediately pouted and threw a fit. My mom and best friend were there as guest, so I'm glad I have witnesses to attest to this. I can't make this up. She cried that the wrong dress was bought, even though her fiancé said that it was the one she kept talking about. She said she changed her mind on the dress. She wasn't wearing a bra and was mad about that, mad about the decor, mad about the cake, just mad in general. She went around to each table and expressed how horrible everything was.
Starting point is 00:43:30 It was truly something out of a movie. She told me my decorations for my wedding were tacky when I offered them to her since we had the same colors. Yet, they served chips and nacho cheese as the main dish at the wedding. Needless to say, we cut ties, one of the worst weddings I've ever been a part of, and it ruined a 12-year friendship. I have a lot of thought right off the rip. You cannot expect something to be a surprise, demand a surprise, and then get pissed about how it was planned. And I will say back to us being brides because we were perfect.
Starting point is 00:44:07 We were, as much as we were chill, we were also particular. However, we did not put our particularness when it came. came to certain things onto others. And what I mean by this are things like, I was going to say our showers. You didn't have a shower. My shower, our bachelor's parties are a really good example of this. Yes, I feel like if you know you're a particular person,
Starting point is 00:44:33 then you need to make sure that you take on those tasks for yourself and not put them on other people and then be upset when they don't do it the way you would have done it. Correct. I see this a lot. In this situation, though, from the beginning, it was never. going to be right. How are you going to get proposed to and then get mad about the ring and that you're not skinny yet? So he should have waited. No, that's crazy. I can't imagine. Does that matter besides that you're getting married to the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with? I can't really.
Starting point is 00:45:03 I just feared that this was never going to be a smooth sailing process. Just based on the initial reaction. But yeah, I feel like we knew that like we were very involved in our bachelor's. We picked the local location we wanted to go to, the itinerators, I think we both made for our respective ones of like what we wanted to do. We're involved in the decor, the outfits, like, there was definitely pieces of mind that like you took and run with, but I was like, this is the theme I want to do. Yeah. And you ran with that. Yeah. I just think no matter what happened in this case scenario, that this person was kind of just a nightmare. I hate to say it. But, how do you start you can't start it off that way and if you do you've seen the guy on the
Starting point is 00:45:51 tick dog that runs across the screen with the red flag yep i've seen him that's how i felt immediately when they said this so lots of red flags but in this situation hopefully like the last you were no longer friends in the end and you realize and you know what truthfully i will say i think how you are as a brides is a lot about how you are as a person so this kind of gave in some And they were like, okay, we've seen enough. I know. I mean, at least you got some chips and cheese at the wedding. I love chips and cheese.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Love chips and cheese. So there's one positive in the end. Yeah, we can all find a silver line in there. But that's it for this week's episode. If you want to join us in the Patreon bonus content, we're basically having a bonus episode and covering everything we missed last week. So we'll see you guys there.
Starting point is 00:46:42 If not, we'll see you the next one. Bye, everyone. Bye.
