Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast and welcome back from spring break to us. Yay. That was kind of conveniently timed spring break. I ended up becoming an aunt in that time. That may or may not have what sparked our spring break. Who knows? Who knows to say? Also, honestly, just a lot happened.
Starting point is 00:00:28 And this is good for us because now we have lots to catch up on and chat about. First and foremost, yes, I'm an aunt now. You sure are. To the cutest little girl, Scotty, which that I've been just, I'm just so excited about. She, my sister Elena, named her baby Scotty after the Scott sisters, which is our maiden names before we're both married. And our sister, Stevie. So exciting, strong woman to come after her fellow. Scott sisters and yeah just really excited um holding a little baby is just like the craziest thing
Starting point is 00:01:12 now because like i mean elli it's obviously 13 months which actually that was another cool thing that happened um scotty just so happened to be born on 414 and elliott's birthday is 314 so they're like exactly a month apart with their birthday is obviously 13 months now but meant to be every year it'll be like his birthday and then hers a month later um so yeah just all around exciting times um but other than that just so much drama you guys i truly insane amounts of drama and i couldn't believe it yeah i don't know it was just lots to catch up on so let's start with that week that we took our spring break i ended up having a little golf party for the which was kind of just out of pocket. Evan was like, yeah, I'm going to watch golf on Friday or
Starting point is 00:02:10 whatever day. And I'm like, oh, okay. And I turned it into a golf party. As one should. And truly, though, what inspired me to bring this up is after that happened, my for you page became flooded with Masters drama surrounding like the event in total. And you. And you. And you. And you. of this I feel like until after all was said and done yes and first of all I didn't know there's a lot of rules around the master oh yeah it's been a tradition for lots and lots of years and there is like an unspoken dress code there is you're not allowed to have phones and this year people were very unhappy because a lot of influencers went and obviously they were like taking videos and pictures and people like you're not really supposed to do that.
Starting point is 00:03:02 They weren't following the like unspoken dress code. People weren't happy about that. No, people were not happy. But the thing was, was all of the influencers that were there, I fear were there to influence and to be on there. Like I think they were being paid by the masters and or I don't know if it's a PJ or whoever. That's why they had their phones. Like a lot of them I think were working.
Starting point is 00:03:27 I mean, maybe they got a press pass. I'm not exactly sure. I think that's what they had was press passes and people felt like they were abusing their press pass. Because I will say, I don't think they paid anyone to be there because I think it's like kind of hard to be able to go in general. Like you have to. Yeah, you have to get into a lottery. Get into lottery and get tickets and stuff. So I don't know if it was that.
Starting point is 00:03:49 But yeah, I feel that they maybe had some kind of pass, which would have been given by the actual event. So like for people to get mad about that. I mean, I don't know if that's fair. but people were just also mad that like they were there they were doing that and like they weren't following these like unspoken traditional rules because people were looking into and they were like pulling up the actual website for the event and it says nothing about like a dress code specific what to wear what not to wear but people were like if you're going to go and like be a part of this that's been a tradition forever like look into it look what other people wear kind of thing so people
Starting point is 00:04:26 were not happy about that but then i also just started seeing other stuff like apparently the merch at the masters you can only get at the masters and they make a million dollars per hour the entire week that they're open so they make like 70 million that week just in merch sales but there's like no third party retailers you can't get it online like you have to physically be there so everybody like goes crazy they do and i did see one video the one video i saw in real time was up i want to say it was was a local thrift store, like somewhere near where the master takes place. And there was a lineup of people to go in there because I guess, like, I don't know if it's the past year's master's merch that they like send to the thrift store like a year later,
Starting point is 00:05:14 whatever it is. But people were flooding into that store to get like old master's merch, which like I can understand why now. No world you can get it. I had no idea that was a thing either. And then also there was a little drama. So Rory McElroy is the one who won this year and he won also last year. But last year there was a lot of drama surrounding him because he was like potentially
Starting point is 00:05:40 going to get a divorce. And the rumor was that he was having an affair with one of the press people who like do the interviews. And so last year like after he won, supposedly he didn't like kiss his wife, but she was there. And then this year after he won, like everyone wanted, they didn't end up getting divorced. Like everyone wanted to see like wittinessy, is he going to kiss her? And he did. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Seems like all as well. But also you were telling me that like apparently the week of the masters, the person who wins gets to pick the meal. Yes. And they don't like the meal he picked. I don't think so. I could be wrong, but I'm like 99% positive that I saw people after Rory won being like, dang, the winners are going to be upset about the meal again. Dang.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Because it's like a very big deal. Whoever wins the year prior, they have this big, you know, winner's meal. And you get to pick, you know, the appetizer, the main course, the dessert, whatever you want, you can pick what it is. So there's been all kinds of meals. Brian and I frequently talk about, like, what would our, like, meal selection be? Because you can really, you can pick whatever you want. I'm pretty sure you can bring in whatever chef you would love.
Starting point is 00:06:53 like to prepare this meal. I mean, you're footing the bill as the former winner, but are you looking at menus? I'm looking up what he may have done. Supposedly, it was Irish comfort food, Georgia-inspired dishes, and high-end selections of beef and tuna. I mean, it doesn't sound great. I mean, it doesn't sound terrible. It says peach and ricotta flatbread.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Okay. Rock shrimp tempura, bacon-wrap dates, grilled, elk sliders, yellowfin tuna something, and filet and salmon. I mean, it seems like there's some good options in there. I'm a picky eater and there was multiple things that I was going to say. I feel like if we could find something on the menu, then you're, yeah. I think people liked when Scotty Schaeffler won, though. He did like burgers, like Scotty style.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Oh, yeah. Interesting. I mean, that sounds good to me. I mean, that sounds good to me. but I'll take a burger. Today's episode is brought to you by Cozy Earth. Mother's Day always makes me think about the quiet things that moms do that no one really sees. The routines, the comfort, the way they make a house feel like a home from the moment everyone wakes up till the day finally winds down.
Starting point is 00:08:09 And that's why I love Cozy Earth as a gift idea this year. Instead of just saying thank you, Cozy Earth lets you give comfort back. Their robes, slippers, embedding are incredibly soft, thoughtfully made, and feel like a little. everyday luxury that she'll actually use. It's the kind of gift that turns ordinary moments, morning coffee, getting ready for the day, finally relaxing at night, into something a little more special. And if you're shopping for yourself too, Cozy Earth offers a 100-night sleep trial so you can try it risk-free, plus a 10-year warranty, which really speaks to the quality. Thank you to Cozy Earth for sponsoring today's episode. Yeah, so lots of drama. It was actually kind of fun though because obviously Evan is super into golf and watches everything and whatever. He's the reason I entertained golf at all. But and sometimes we play. Sometimes we play, but we tried.
Starting point is 00:09:22 Yeah, we go out on the course, like, a couple times a season. Yeah. But it was funny because I was also telling him a bunch of drama and information. And he was like, what are you talking about? Like, obviously, he's just actually watching the sport. And I'm like, oh, my gosh, there's drama. And he's like, no, there's not. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:09:40 Is he getting a kiss? Yeah. He's like, who cares? Yeah. So that was fun. Also, this wasn't so fun. I guess we knew. We knew that just.
Starting point is 00:09:49 and Bieber was performing at Coachella. We knew this. But like, did we really know? It was Bieber chella. And like that hurt. It really did. And here's the thing that I will,
Starting point is 00:10:01 I will go on record saying, because I feel like we've said this for years now. What, the past three, four years? Like, we may have said in the past, we are not specifically that interested in attending Coachella. Correct. It just feels a little overwhelming,
Starting point is 00:10:18 a lot going on. Which there's a lot to talk about what happened. Right. Of course. However, I would have given anything to be there for... Drama. But I will say, after weekend one passed, and what were the dates on that? It was the same weekend as the Masters.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Okay. So what was that? So what was that? Yeah. Okay, yeah. So after that weekend, I... still was not an aunt yet because if I would have been at that point like I was I was waiting for Elena to have her baby and I didn't know when it was going to happen so like I physically we couldn't
Starting point is 00:11:00 have gone right but right there was a large part of my brain that was like if she has her baby before we can two like we might have to figure out how to get there there was like a part of me that felt that we would might have to figure it out you know I had that that that inkling in my soul that we we might have to figure it i mean our good friend tracy is one with the giveaways and i kept saying tracy how the gift of looking we were thinking we were going to win a giveaway i was just thinking about like i don't know what are the logistics what are the logistics can we do this but like i feel like i got that vibe from you based off the way you were texting the way i was texting was i was so serious you were like wait what day is he on
Starting point is 00:11:48 but I didn't know when Elena was going to have her baby. No, there's a lot going on. So then I was like, dang, like, we actually can't make this work. But it was a thought in my mind. You know, which is fair because. It's okay. He might go on tour. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:12:05 And that is alarming. I think it's going to be, getting tickets is going to be impossible. I know. We saw him last time. We were like one of the last people to see. him before really were and I think like truthfully I think that's one of those things where it's like we did get to see him yes and like didn't he cancel his next show after the next show after because he was dealing with was it like those balls yes it was like something
Starting point is 00:12:34 it wasn't that it was something like that yes called something and yeah he ended up getting sick and like he couldn't perform anymore and we were the last people's team and I think I've seen this there's a lot of the conversation about people who got to see him at Coachella. It's like you already got to see him. You're not buy tickets. But I feel that this is not the same as us getting to see him the last time because... It's different. It's a different tour.
Starting point is 00:13:02 It's completely different. That was a long time ago. It wasn't that long. It was in 2021. That was the first concert. Me and Brian ever went to together. Really? But that's not that long ago.
Starting point is 00:13:16 But yeah, like it was long enough ago. It was, I mean, I guess in the grand scheme of things. I mean, five years almost. Okay. Yeah, five years. We've done our time. Right. And we should be there when he comes back to Detroit.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Well, that's something we'll have to think about. But, yeah. Wild that came out right after this weekend. But I feel like a lot of people end up doing that. Yeah. And which is really exciting. It was a little controversial, especially the first weekend. I feel like his performance.
Starting point is 00:13:54 His whole set got a lot of people talking. People felt certain ways towards just his creative concept, I would say. If you didn't see, he was, some of it he was pulling up old YouTube videos of himself singing. some of it he was pulling up like memes that were just like funny memes and he had like a laptop and he was sitting up on the stage looking stuff up and I feel like weekend one was I feel like maybe he was like nervous I feel like that was like part of it I feel like there wasn't like a full I don't know like I feel like weekend two was different than weekend one and maybe I'm wrong I didn't watch the full live I got too I didn't either I feel like it was different
Starting point is 00:14:44 Weekend two, he brought out a lot of guests. He brought up Big Sean. He brought out Billy. He brought out, like, a lot of people. And I feel like weekend one was more so, like, the warm up in a way. It was, in a way. It felt like it was a little bit like we're testing the water. Yeah, like, I feel like he was easing back into things after, I don't know, taking that break.
Starting point is 00:15:06 I know then to go right into Coachella. It's kind of wild. I personally, I really loved what he did. at the stage. I thought it was different. I liked that it felt more intimate like he's looking up things. He's looking up videos. I don't know. It seemed like he was doing crowd interaction with it. And I liked the fact that he had old YouTube videos of his younger self and then was performing as well. I thought that was cool and well done. But a lot of people were comparing it to something like Sabrina Carpenter set that which was very over the top like very like a lot
Starting point is 00:15:49 Broadway production and I think both can be great sets to each their own yeah I've seen a lot of people being like two things can be true at the same time like this can be considered good and this can be considered good we don't have to compare them apples to apples yeah and it just is like a different It was a more like intimate situation And I think that was part of the point I think that was part of the point But a lot of people were like
Starting point is 00:16:20 You're giving credit We're like that was not Thought out Like people are putting meaning to it That's not It's like I'm sure it was thought out I feel that
Starting point is 00:16:30 Yeah you're missing the point But It's not clocking to them Exactly So yeah That was Beberchella. Also though, people
Starting point is 00:16:44 were calling it scamchella because there were so many scams this year with Airbnb's companies saying that they were going to bring influencers and do all this stuff and then like being fake or like not doing it ghosting people. I've seen a lot of discourse on that though.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I mean, I did see one or two companies get called out on scamming people but then I also watched a few TikToks of people saying you know, did a company really reach out to that person to go to Coachella? Or did they make up that story for another company just whoop in and save the day and bring them to Coachella? And like two things can be true.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Maybe some people were dropped by companies last minute. Seems unlikely, but I think there was one or two companies I heard about that that did happen. Some people were they maybe just saying like, ooh, can I, you know. Get another company. Get a company to take me. Interesting. I mean, I don't know if I saw anybody get saved by a company, though. I saw Marshalls brought two gals.
Starting point is 00:17:50 It was different. Yeah, they were joking and then they capitalized on the joke, which I love. Marshalls, two girls went to Marshalls and were like going to our Coachella fitting and like pretending to like be getting styled by a stylist for Coachella because like also that was another big topic this year. But then Marshalls literally turned around and sent them to Coachella. Yeah. With styling from them. We should have did that?
Starting point is 00:18:17 I know. No, literally. Marshalls call us next time. But a lot of people did get stylists this year. And that was a big joke I saw online of like people being like, yeah, I got styled by my stylist. And then they would just have on like one million layers of clothes, like three hats, six belt. Yes, just an entire outfit of belts. And they're like, yeah, this was, I paid $30,000 for my stylist for this look.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Today's episode is brought to you by skims. As we spend this week catching up on all the gossip and everything top of mind from the last two weeks, I want to talk about something I think a lot of us forget, especially moms, and that's how much the basics we wear every day can affect our mood. If a bra is digging in, sliding around, showing through your shirt, or making you want to take it off in the grocery store parking lot, it matters. And when you already have enough going on, the last thing you need is your bra working against you. That's why I keep reaching for skims. When what you're wearing underneath feels good,
Starting point is 00:19:19 everything on top fits better too. You feel more comfortable, more put together, and a little less like you're hanging on by a thread. Lately, I've been loving the fits everybody t-shirt bra. It's lightweight, smooth, supportive, and super comfortable. It lays really nicely under clothes, and it's the kind of bra you put on in the morning and don't think about it again all day, which honestly feels like a luxury. I'd recommend skims to any friend because they make basics that you actually reach for again and again, comfortable, flattering, easy, and made for real life. Shop my favorite bras and underwear at skims.com.
Starting point is 00:19:53 After you place your order, be sure to let them know we sent you. Select podcasts in the survey and be sure to select our show in the drop-down menu that follows. Thank you to Skims for sponsoring today's episode. But truly, I am not surprised that this was a thing. And again, people were just saying, like, the influencer Olympics was out of control this year. See, and I didn't think it was out of it. I was kind of living for all the Coachella content this year. And I feel like normally I sit in the camp of it's an influencer Olympics, but I was, I was eating up all of the content.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Really? Yeah. People were saying, though, too, like, it was a lot of people were like hiring their own personal securities to like be rude and push through crowds and push people in front of people and like they didn't need those securities and it was kind of just like a way for people to like abuse the power of like having them caught and do stuff yeah i saw a lot of people saying that a lot of people saying like during sets people would be talking and just like on their phones and talk about random stuff and not there for the music um i could see that i feel like those lots
Starting point is 00:21:03 Chella is just such a wild place to be. I just, yeah, I feel like it's one of the festivals that everyone gets an artist or VIP band. And then it's like that ruins experience for everybody who like thought they were going to get this special experience. Like this really cool, unique. Yeah, it's literally, this is crazy comparison, but like it's kind of like the joke we always make like we have TSA pre-check. so we're like, oh, but now if everyone gets it. This is a good comparison, though. If everyone gets it, then it doesn't matter that we have it
Starting point is 00:21:39 because then that line's even longer than the regular line. No. And it's almost like that was the vibe I got like general admission. Like, I didn't see too many complaints from that. But like people who were in the VIP. Artists were not having the best time. No, and I watched the entirety of Alex Earle's weekend one, Coachella vlog. and she said it was when they first got to the festival the first day she was like I've never seen
Starting point is 00:22:06 Coachella so packed and they were backstage in the I would assume the artist area the artist village whatever they want to call it and it it did seem pretty packed yeah very um very interesting well speaking of Alex Earl that was another huge thing that happened this week if you're chronically online like we are like we are If you're not, then basically, Alex Earle is TikToker, was on Dancing with the Stars, very well known for her Get Ready with Me's, being in college. Now she just dropped her own skin care line, which we talked about. And then you have Alex Cooper, founder of Call Her Daddy, very successful podcast, has been around for a long time doing that. And basically, they have some beef.
Starting point is 00:22:56 And they have for a while. but it randomly came to a head this week when Alex Earle reposted a TikTok video talking badly about Alex Cooper and everyone was like oh wow so there actually is beef here it was always speculated that something happened because at one point Alex Earle's podcast was under Alex Cooper's podcast on her Unwell network
Starting point is 00:23:21 so people thought they were friends for a while then randomly Alex Earl pulled her podcast or I don't know, got fired with her podcast. No one really knew what happened. If she left or got left. It was very odd. And so now everyone kind of got the confirmation that they had been thinking that Alex Earle had some kind of problem with Alex Cooper.
Starting point is 00:23:43 And then Alex Cooper goes online, post a video directly calling out Alex Earle saying, if you have something to say, say it. Like you don't need to do the whole run around. Say what you want to say. there's no NDA. I want to hear what your problem is with me. So everyone's kind of been on the edge of their seats this last two weeks. We sure have been.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Waiting for Alex Earl to say what her problem is with Alex Cooper. I've seen some conspiracy theories about this. Some people saying like this was PR manufactured because Alex Cooper's video calling out Alex Earl was supposedly this last weekend when she was at Coachella right before that. And the nails didn't match. I mean, she could have got her nails done. I don't know. I didn't really understand the nail thing.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Because it's like she could have easily had her nails done for Coachella and then taken them off or switched them or whatever it was. I mean, I didn't read into the nails too deeply. I don't know. I also think it'd be weird to pre-film such a video, but it didn't seem like a pre-filmed video to me. It felt very in the moment. But obviously we have no idea.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I truly do believe that there was some kind of beef between the two of them. I've seen old resurfaced clips of them. And you can kind of get the vibe between them. There's something in the air when they're in the same room. I'm not going to lie, part of me kind of felt sad for Alex Earle for a minute because I'm like, it all supposedly started. They were both like barstool girls to begin with. Supposedly Alex Earle was around barstool like before she got big and was coming up.
Starting point is 00:25:27 and like really looked up to Alex Cooper. And when she got offered to be on Unwell, even though she was already kind of like, she was bigger than needing to go on a network like that. Like she already had success and she already had her podcast. So it was kind of like she didn't really need that network. A lot of times when you go with a network like that, like that's because you're going to get a benefit out of it.
Starting point is 00:25:48 They're going to be able to help blow you up. But she was already like bigger than that. And so people were saying like it was, it was kind of sad. This was somebody she looked up to and she got to do this. And like this was kind of like a, she really did it like because I'm assuming because there was some kind of like level of respect there. And like she looked up to her. I think she probably, I mean, not necessarily grew up, but for a long time watched Alex
Starting point is 00:26:16 Cooper, admired her like. Right. Wanted to be like her and was probably so excited, so thrilled to be on the Unwell network. It sounded like I saw an old clip of a TikTok that Alex Earl did when she like announced that she was going to unwell and basically saying and like she was crying like happy tears like that she was excited. Obviously there's always two sides of every story. So I'll be interested to see what she says and then what the response is. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:43 I've definitely seen like a lot of back and forth a lot of takes on it. And truthfully, I can't fully give an opinion because I don't. I never followed like the Call Her Daddy podcast from the beginning. beginning right I see it now and like I see it all the time on TikTok and stuff but I never really like crazy because we have a podcast but I never really like fully listened to podcast before they were a thing I always did the YouTube yeah podcast and stuff but that was never really like a thing that I yeah I was not super into it and I always heard about it but I never fully watched it so I don't know like I didn't see that evolution I don't fully have like a grasp on Alex Cooper's personality. I feel like I see more of Alex Earl because it's just on TikTok. And like, we're on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:27:33 There's no, you can't avoid her. Like she's all on TikTok. So I feel like maybe that's also where like, it's hard. My opinion is skewed because I just see more of. Mine is skewed as well because I also never really listened to Caller Daddy. I've listened to episodes, but more so in recent years when it's a guest that I'm interested in learning more about.
Starting point is 00:27:56 And then you'll watch to see. Yeah, I'll watch to like hear what the guest has to say. But I never listened to call her daddy back in the day. Yeah, in the beginning. Yeah. And I think like it was huge at our time. It truly was. But like if you would have asked me like even how to listen, which is this is insane. But like if you'd have been like, oh, have you listened to a podcast, I'm like, where or what?
Starting point is 00:28:16 Like you just don't have to get a Kendall. Like I didn't know what. I truly did not know what it was at the time. So yeah, I'm behind on all. of that but I will be interested to see and hopefully it's all just on TikTok I know it will get all broken down on TikTok With our luck it'll be like tomorrow
Starting point is 00:28:33 that like... Oh no 100% Alex Earl will respond 100% I actually Maybe this is good we'll finally get our answers because we're filming this right now in the midst of the drama We're jinxing it We are the reason we're recording no
Starting point is 00:28:50 I hope that doesn't happen but I also hope it does I think my prediction is that it's going to be something that is on her show that comes out. I think so too. They're filming. I think we'll be waiting for that premiere. What the hell?
Starting point is 00:29:05 Reality show. Yes. Alexero's reality show is going on Netflix. Don't know when. But I'm assuming this is going to be a plot in that. And that's why she's not actually saying anything directly. Yeah, 100% is. Because that's the other thing I think that's skewing my opinion is I feel like in the past,
Starting point is 00:29:23 every time something has been brought up with her. She like kind of just does address it right away. Like she does so many like get ready with me. And she'll just like talk about. She will. Her breakup, her this, her that. And then this she's not saying. So I'm like, this is going to be on her show for sure.
Starting point is 00:29:39 That's true. That's true. But when Herne Braxton did break up, she was quiet about it for a little while. And then remember people respected and they were like, no, they didn't actually break up. I won't believe it till I hear it from Alex's mouth. And then she, um, her team. like gave a note to like I don't know what is a statement a statement yeah to like people magazine and they're like I'm not believing people and everyone's like that's what happens when celebrities
Starting point is 00:30:06 break up like they give their statement and she eventually talked about it but well that was another thing that happened this week supposedly he is a new girlfriend it's funny because like I I've said this to you on this podcast three times now but like you guys we I've never really talked about her on the podcast because I feel like I never kept up with it but it's now been in my it's been in your stratosphere now there's no escaping it if you're on TikTok like you're in the no on this yeah and now I feel like personally like I need to know what's going on it's like a parissocial thing I need to know no I'm invested I've been it and I wasn't before dancing with the stars but when I watched her on dancing with the stars, I just had this newfound, like, respect and admiration for her.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Because she genuinely just seems like such a sweet, genuine person. And she worked really hard. I don't know. I didn't really know her before that, so I didn't necessarily know what to expect with dancing with the stars. And I think that also changed maybe, like, the narrative around her and stuff. So, again, I think it's skewed. And, like, those kind of things does change.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Because she was such a Miami party girl, which is. like fun but like I'm kind of out of my party girl stage so I wasn't really invested before up until now that's probably why we didn't like fully relate or like talk about right because we weren't in college we weren't in our party stage so but now now I'm invested I watched her freaking Haley it was like a 45 minute vlog granted I was like doing like crafting and stuff like I had stuff to do so I had put it on TV just like have its background noise but like I was invested that's fair I mean yeah it's one of those things um when you are chronically online but also it's just if you give us a little bit of shadiness we can't help ourselves we have to know with the masters now I'm trying to watch all this golf to
Starting point is 00:32:17 find out who's going to kiss their wife or not and like what else is going on exactly And so like it's just, you know, it'll get us into sports. It'll get us into random TikTok people. It'll get us into Piberchella. Who's to say what's next? Whatever it is, it drags us in. And we will keep you updated. We didn't do any shady stories this week because truthfully, that was enough shady
Starting point is 00:32:45 stories that we just went through in real life. So we will be back next week with that. If you want to, we are going to be talking. about what people wore to Coachella on the Patreon bonus content. So if you want to see that, we will see you there. If not, we'll see you the next one. Bye, everyone. Bye.
