hello and welcome back to the podcast it has been quite some time i know we missed you guys but we have a very exciting episode to get back to it right away because we have a new set if you're watching you can see that already we are going to be unboxing our YouTube 100K subscriber plaque. We finally got it. So we're going to be unboxing that this episode toward the end. And we have a very special guest. And I honestly can't believe the words that are about to come out of my mouth. But my fiance, Evan, is here.

Hello. And also we have Brittany kind of being the producer off screen right now. So if you hear some noises, that is her. But I got engaged. We got engaged. And I figured what better time to bring the infamous Evan that you guys have heard a lot about. I don't know if he knows all the crap that I've talked about him on the podcast so far, but what a perfect time to talk about, you know, we on the podcast, I may or may not have mentioned that your

peacefulness, you know, bothers me a little bit. You're a very calm guy. And I think we're all wondering, the listeners probably want to know this. What were you that peaceful when it came time to plan this engagement? Not at all. How did that go? How long have you been planning this? What, what went on? You have to tell us all the details. Cause honestly, I don't know everything. You're going to be finding out stuff that I'm finding out for the first time too for some of it because it felt like as soon as it happened it was such a blur and it was like I wanted to know the details but there was also so much going on so can you tell us about this process when did you get the ring when did you know you were gonna propose I would say the first time that i thought about doing it seriously was uh early summer um what tuesday last summer oh it took you long

that's when i first started thinking about it um thinking about like potential plans to do it we go to a lot of festivals together so that's like the first thing that I tried to, you know, envision doing it there. Lollapalooza? Yeah. That would have been so fun. But I mean, we did kind of, we had the podcast. It was our second episode only and we decided to take it to Lollapalooza. So I think it would have been a little hectic for you.

It was. I mean, I talked to some of your friends and like my friends about it. It was a good idea. It's just a lot of moving pieces in Lollapalooza and uh you already had a lot going on with that new episode so I just didn't I wasn't able to you know I felt like it wasn't the right um but you didn't have the ring yet no when did you get the ring I got the ring um the day after Christmas the day after my birthday you got it? Yep. That's crazy.

Did you go in person and get it or did you order it? So I shopped around, let's see, in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. And that was in store. When? Was I not questioning you? Like, where are you going all this time? It's winter so you're not golfing. I mean I guess you could have been hunting. No trying to pull off going to the stores like I was just giving you excuses like I'm going to Gander Mountain. What? I'm going

to I'm going to see Mike like we're meeting up for a drink. Dang. I'd be gone for a couple hours. I'd go to the just the local jewelry stores but they didn't have anything that uh I was looking for in particular because I knew um I kind of knew what I was after for your ring thankfully your sister helped me out there yeah so how did you know what to get because I did not I did not tell him anything really about it I only knew what I didn't like I didn't know what I did like it's funny uh so your sister really helped me out she basically told me like what for sure not to get um that's all I told her so it makes sense but she I mean she pointed me in the right direction um ultimately but after I

I think it was after I already ordered it because I did order it from, uh, from up from a store. Um, we were at my family's and we're all talking about rings and whatnot, um, with my family. And I think you mentioned that you like had no idea what you wanted. Like you didn't know the shape, the size or anything. And I was like, Oh my God, I just ordered this ring. Like she's saying she doesn't know what she wants. So you were, were you scared that i wasn't gonna like it well yeah well but i said i didn't know what i wanted well your sister was so sure that she knew what you wanted oh so you were like convinced that was the one and then i said i didn't know so you're like how did she know exactly oh yeah no i i really didn't know what i wanted i feel like now though like i'm so happy with it.

This style of ring has become so popular. We were just talking like right after we got engaged, like Vanessa Hudgens got engaged and somebody else got engaged. And I was like, oh my God, they have like the same ring. And you were like, damn, like I picked a good one. I was like, yeah. So you knew for a while, which by the way, we've been dating for a long time. So. And six or seven years. Yeah. It's been a while. Um, it's kind of funny. So our friend groups are our friends, but I wasn't, I didn't hang out with them all regularly until

college, but you were kind of coming around the same people that I knew from so we are we're at two rival high schools and but our friend group still somehow came together from the two high schools and so like all my friends like Brittany and like girls that I knew since for so long would hang out with you all the time and I didn't even know you existed and then college came and we went to the same college so like we knew of each other once college happened but we never really talked or anything until we were at school one time and like saw each other and then we started dating but our whole like you were it was weird how much we missed each other. It really is.

For like that long. Because even before I went to state, I still we still had the same friend groups and we just never even in high school, I found out that you were hanging out with people that I was hanging out with. And I was like, how did I never see you before? I don't know. And even Elena, my sister, knew you before, too, because when I first mentioned that like oh yeah like I met this guy and she was like oh I know him I'm like what the hell like you never thought maybe you should introduce me to him like rude um but yeah so it's been a long time we really started officially dating in college and so you you went through the whole thing you went through the whole process you asked for permission

yeah what just like at a family like a yeah so it's a holiday yeah over the holidays i uh i was just looking for like uh you, an opportunity not to make it too obvious. I didn't notice. But didn't you say it was like you guys went to get like my cake or something? Yeah. This is for my birthday. Yeah. Yeah. I saw your dad go downstairs.

I'm like, all right, I got to do it right now. Or am I doing it today? I'm going to have to like schedule some other time. And so I just followed him downstairs. And thankfully, he was just down there grabbing your cake. And that's so funny see like I had no clue and so I guess we can get into that now too like me having no clue so thankfully at the time when the actual engagement was being planned according to you but we'll get

into to how Brittany none of my friends none of my friends even gave me the slightest clue because by the way again we were dating for so long that like it got to the point where i was like it wasn't even on my mind because i was like he's not like i will know if he's planning it like i just thought that i was gonna know and it got to the point where i was like i don't think he's ever doing it like I think I really wanted it to be a surprise and even like with telling uh Brittany and Tracy like I really waited as long as I could before even telling them well no they all did a great job and even our other friends were like egging me on too they're like yeah like you should he's not gonna do it like we'll ask him about it like we'll we'll bring it up to him like

nonchalantly like we'll we'll we'll push him and I'm like damn like he's really going to do it. Like, we'll ask him about it. Like, we'll, we'll bring it up to him, like nonchalantly, like we'll, we'll, we'll push him. And I'm like, damn, like, he's really not thinking about it. Cause he would have told them. They all totally convinced me it was not happening. So I fully believed it. I thought we're together all the time. I will freaking notice if you're like up to something totally went over my head. Thankfully though, with the podcast, we were getting, we were working on getting the studio that we have so we can start having more guests on. And so the day before the engagement, we got the keys to the studio. So all I was thinking about was like, okay, I've got to get the new set set up I have to get everything ordered like my mind was so busy with all that stuff that I wasn't even thinking it was a possibility and then looking back there were so many red flags that I actually should have noticed

so you tell it from your perspective kind of like what you had planned and then like what I was doing that wasn't really going with your plan so the plan was I had uh two of our good friends invite us out to dinner um on a Saturday at this restaurant in Detroit that we frequent and uh I just knew that I had to get you down there on time and like you committed to the plans on like a month like I think it was Monday when they said um you committed to going and then like a month, like I think it was a Monday when they said, um, you committed to going. And then like, I would kind of bring it up throughout the week. And I could just tell, like, you were just really just thinking about this new studio. Um, like the three days leading up to it, that's all you were shopping for the studio.

You're putting together the set, um, just finalize it, finalizing everything even the day of you know our plans are at like five or six o'clock um we're at target at like three o'clock 3 30 shopping for random stuff for this place i was literally i had you at target which i was shocked that like usually you don't want to go but you were totally down like do whatever i wanted that day and i was like this is like I wasn't thinking this is weird but now looking back I'm like I should have known because like when else would you want to go to Target with me and sit there for two hours while I'm picking out like trash cans like I was getting the most random items to like put in this play in the studio so I was like I I was I should have right then and there knew something was up, but then I kept getting mad too. Like you would be like, Oh, like we got to get down there and like, they're waiting for

us. They're going to get drinks, blah, blah. And I was like, all you care about is getting drinks. Like, really? I was getting pissed. I'm like, I want to furnish this up like studio. Like there's no chance. Like I was getting so mad and we get back to from Target for like three hours which we're already like running behind at that point and he's starting to get dressed like really nice and I'm getting pissed I'm not even thinking any I'm not thinking anything of it I'm in our basement carrying out like old decor that I have saved up and I'm'm like, oh, we can bring this. Oh, we can bring this. Cause I was like, we'll go to the studio after dinner. Like after dinner, we'll go to the studio. We can start putting stuff together. And so I'm packing up the car and I'm like, why aren't you helping me pack up the car? And he's like, what? And he's like steaming a shirt. And I'm like, bro, start packing

up the car. Like like what are you doing like we're going to the studio after dinner we're not like we're not getting all these drinks like we're going to the studio he's like okay okay so he starts like helping me pack the car but then it was just like you're still getting dressed really nice and I'm like I don't understand why you're getting dressed on I'm like you're gonna carry all this nice. And I'm like, I don't understand why you're getting dressed on. I'm like, you're going to carry all this stuff in, in that shirt, like that steamed shirt. It's going to get wrinkly. And you're like, yeah, it's fine. It's not a big deal. And then, so I'm starting to get mad too. Cause I'm not thinking about anything I'm wearing. I didn't put my lashes on. That's how you know it was real. Um, that I had

no idea. So I'm like wearing leggings and a button up and not cute though like just casual and he's like I'm like should I be getting dressed nice he's like no like it's up to you like I mean we just never really like go out on the weekends anymore like I kind of want to dress nice and I'm like you're right so I'm like damn I'm like do we have to walk far like I don't want to wear heels and he's like no it's not that far you could wear heels so I'm like damn it so I put on these little heels or whatever like based on my outfit too in the pictures you could kind of tell I had no idea because I've seen videos of these girls on TikTok that are like getting dressed I think he's gonna propose and they like wear all white on purpose and stuff like have you ever done that though no was there a

time you thought I was gonna do it and dressed up not even a chance so anyways we get there and again he's like going in front of me and I'm like why is he going in front of me like that's just not like you like you you know like I don't know ladies first you're usually like a gentleman and I'm like this guy is really just grinding my gears today and then you walk outside like on the patio where it was and I see the table and you know of course like my like I just couldn't all I could say was the f-word like I was just like oh like it just hit me all at once of like what happened that day and I was like so, oh, like, it just hit me all at once of, like, what happened that day. And I was, like, so mad at you. I was getting pissed.

It was perfect. All I was thinking about was the studio. And then I was like, oh, fuck, I'm such an asshole. Like, as soon as I saw the setup. So, yeah, so. No. What were you thinking? As soon as we walked out on the balcony and you saw, like you said, you saw the flowers and everything.

I could tell, like her reaction, I could tell. It was like making me like black out. Like I had a whole speech like prepared in my head. And I couldn't remember any of it. It was pretty short and sweet. But I knew because we had your friend that's a photographer there. I knew she was going to get the pictures. And we also had, you know, friends and family there.

So I knew everyone that we wanted to be there to watch was there to watch. Yeah, it happened so fast, though. Like, as soon as I realized what was going on, and I knew, so, like, the friends we were supposed to meet were the photographer, like, were family friends, like, growing up. So I, like, as soon as I saw two what was going on like I knew they were still gonna be there because I was like she's for sure taking the pictures so like my first thing was like where is she oh my god where is she and like

all I could say like I have a video I I said to I was like I should post that on tiktok like there's all these people's like beautiful videos of like getting engaged like they're like kissing like pretending to take pictures and then he gets down and it's like this they were like just being so lovey-dovey and then there's just me like I was just like what the fuck oh fuck oh like I couldn't um our editor might have to beep all those out um but I just couldn't like not say it and I was just like I don't know I couldn't think of anything else to say in the moment and obviously I was saying yes but you said to me too at one point you're like is that a yes I'm like yes um but I gotta I have to like post like a comparison

or like stitch one of those videos of like this beautiful like dramatic dramatic lovey dovey proposals. And then there's me, I'm like, what the fuck? And then, and then, so a couple of our, like, basically our siblings came, like our sisters came and like Brittany and a couple of friends, but so they were behind this like glass wall. And so as soon as like you got down, I'm pretty sure it was my sister but somebody just starts banging on the glass and so I'm like oh shit so I look over and like there's just all of them standing right there like ah and I'm like oh my god so it was definitely um a shock to me and I know like I felt like even telling people after when they asked me like were you surprised and like I'm sure you got people

were asking you like did she know was she surprised because we've been together for so long I think people think that I knew but I genuinely was so preoccupied like and anybody who knows me will tell you this too I can't have that much on my head at once so like I'm not good at multitasking um so if I'm focused on like one thing the rest is just like it's just going over my head at once so like I'm not good at multitasking um so if I'm focused on like one thing the rest is just like it's just going over my head like it's not going in there so I definitely was shocked and surprised that's what I wanted but it was funny because I genuinely did think too that like our friends were gonna give me some kind of hint we had talked about it for so long that like I remember Matt even being like no I'll like like I won't let you wear something

that like you don't want to wear well I had a backup outfit for you oh yeah talk about that because that was a great like no your sister suggested it and I'm like yeah it's perfect she bought you uh like a nice backup outfit and then I snuck a pair of your heels out that morning and while we were at Target I had someone go to our house and grab them and take them down see that's genius that is genius I'd at that point though like I was like we'll take engagement photos at another time I'm not changing because like I was so overwhelmed with what was happening and just like profusely sweating I'm like I'm not changing don't like I don't care like but our photographer is great and she got the pictures like the split second that like it was all happening perfect pictures came out so I was definitely nervous about the friends it wasn't Brittany

um um staying away from you for a couple of weeks. Yeah. So before that, you can hear the peanut gallery now. But I literally told Evan, I go, I think something's going on with Brittany because she was like being so weird and not. So she had like a little Galentine's thing. And I wasn't sure if I was going to make it anyways, because I had just got the studio. You guys see it's brand new studio we're malfunctioning left and right here bad luck just um ignore that we'll just be missing you for now um but so you know she was having this

like galentine's party and i was like i don't know if i'm gonna go like we're getting the studio whatever i was like again focused on that but she wasn't really like pressing it and you weren't either and like normally so evan's the social one and he'll be no like you should do that you should go to that you should like he's all about that stuff you're the one telling me to like go to stuff. And I, neither one of you were like pressing me to go. And I was like, I don't think Brittany wants me to go. And you were like, no, I don't think that's it. And I was like, no, I think that's it. Like she hasn't been really bringing this up to me. And then you're like, no, no, no, it's okay. Like, just don't worry about it. And like, you were distracting me from going too, because it was the night before the engagement and you didn't want me to like,

go have too much fun and not want to go to dinner. Like drinking and stuff. So I was just nervous. And I knew Brittany was nervous, probably about the same thing. Um, so I was like, no, she's, that's probably not what it is, but also like, don't go. Um, but speaking of, should we take a little break here, have Brittany come on and play a game? Because we have a game that we're going to play of, like, how well do you know each other, and we'll, like, vote. So let's bring Brittany in, and we'll start our game.

Let's do it. Okay, Britt has joined us, and welcome back, first of all, because it's been a while since the podcast has been out but also since you've been on because our last one was a guest too. I know. Hi everyone. I missed I missed everyone. So welcome back. Before we get into our game that you're facilitating producer um we I want to know what you have to say about the engagement process and your malfunctioning leading up to because you know i thought i thought you were mad at me absolutely not so first off congratulations thank you never been happier um your tears definitely showed it

you're crying like a baby. I basically cried from the moment I found out that the proposal was happening all the way through the proposal. And even today when we were talking about the proposal, I'm just a little emotional. Okay. Um, so I found out the Friday prior to your engagement that Evan was proposing because he texted me

hey don't say anything to Haley I have to tell you something and I was like oh my gosh it's happening she responded so fast I wonder if she's up this early I was I was getting ready for work and I just feel like my phone was right on top of my face

I was like oh my god I was texting so for work and like I just feel like my phone was like right on top of my face I was like oh my god I was like texting so fast my eyes like shot open so Evan calls me and he had already texted me that he was proposing so I was sobbing I was literally sobbing Evan could hear my mom in the background my mom's like what's wrong what's going on and i was like i'll tell you after i was and then she's just like is evan proposing to hayley like instantly new yeah instantly new based off my tears because they were happy tears um i just love y'all um so from there i no offense i didn't want to see you. Oh, I could tell. Because I was so nervous. And we actually ended up getting dinner, us and Brian, that night. And so when we were at dinner, I was shaking.

And I literally told you I was shaking. I said, I'm so hungry. I'm shaking. And you were like, oh. And I was like, yeah, I didn't eat. Lie. And you were like, oh. And I was like, yeah, I didn't eat. Lie. And you were like, oh, that's weird. I was like, okay.

And then, so we're sitting at dinner. And then you start talking to me about the following weekend, your engagement weekend. You didn't know that. And you were like, yeah, I was thinking next week we should go to a game. And I was like, what do you mean a game? You thought like on Saturday on Saturday because I'm like googling as we're sitting there talking about it and there was a game on Saturday so I'm like she can't go to a game we can't go to a game you're you're getting

engaged it's so not like you to be saying no to plans too and i usually don't initiate them and you were like no we should do it a different time maybe another time and i'm like i had no excuse i know and i was i was like i remember saying to you it's not like britney to turn down plans is something going on with her i was like no something was wrong with me that's all you were thinking yeah um because then i think because from then on out evan was only communicating through like random forms of communication like snapchat instagram like you never knew how he was gonna be communicating um smart because a lot of times when your phone will light up from text messages he has it where you can see what it says so Elena did text him a bunch of times in a row but there was so many that it

only said like six messages didn't come up I know honestly thank god she blew you up because it was it just said six messages or whatever and i was like why is elena texting you but she had just started her beauty school thing and she kept telling us like oh come in for a facial come in for this and he goes oh she just wants me to come in and i believed it and she's very much like that where she'll just be like when so when are you coming are you coming? Are you coming tomorrow? Are you coming this day? And I believed him. And so then the Snapchat and Instagram communication makes a lot more sense because I definitely probably would have saw it. Yeah.

He was smart with that. Another thing I did at dinner that I just thought of now was I was staring at your nails the whole time because I was trying to figure out if your nails were done or not because I was very nervous about that besides the point so we're communicating and I'd already asked you prior to knowing about the proposal about coming to Galentine's and I kind of was pushing you when I first told you about you're like oh I don't know if I'll come and I was like what sad never spoke about it after I heard about the proposal I genuinely didn't even know if you're continuing the plan because normally with something like that you and him would both be pushing me to

go and you didn't even bring it back up to me so I'm like maybe she's just not doing it and then when I found out you were actually doing the plan and weren't pushing it I'm I literally said to Evan I'm like I think she's mad at me I think she doesn't want me to go and evan's like no no no no no and you know what's funny about that too is she texted me as i was like in the little waiting because we had like a little room we were waiting in for y'all to walk into the restaurant on the engagement day on the engagement day and you texted me so how was galentine's i was like everyone she texted me i was like i can't say anything yeah because i'm I'm going to ride down. She's like, I haven't heard from Brittany. Yeah, because I was trying to avoid you and be quiet and not blow the surprise.

Still did not put that together either. Probably just busy all day. I think she had to go to the dentist. You did not say that. You did not say that. So when I had the Galentine's party, all the girls, I was like, oh yeah, everyone can sleep over, but I have a dentist appointment at 10 a.m. tomorrow. So you all have to go like,

cause no one at the party knew. I'm pretty sure the dentist isn't even open on the weekend. Mine is. And that's what I told everyone. And that was the story. And I don't know why I thought that that was like the most brilliant story. Like that was what was going to get everyone out of your house. I needed them all out. So then I could get ready and be on time because I didn't want to be behind

on the plans I was really worried like I was so anxious I kept telling everyone I was like I don't know how Evan's gonna do this because like my heart's beating out of my chest like I was so nervous after it was over and we were all kind of like hanging out and we ate and celebrated but you kept saying to me you're just such a wild card I just didn't know if you were gonna follow through you're just such a wild card and I'm like I am I oh I didn't know like that's how I'm known around these places you are a wild card because for any reason you could have been like no I don't want to go to dinner like you could have been like no i don't want to go to dinner like you could have been like in the parking lot going to dinner and been like you know what

not feeling it or i was really concerned about evan getting you outside because it was so freaking cold out i was like she's not gonna want to go outside she's gonna just stop and like wait for him to come back inside like there were so many variables that's probably the one part of my plan where i may have dropped the ball a little bit because we walked uh it was like a half mile maybe and it was yeah and it was right after you had just told me oh yeah no you should wear heels it's fine we're not walking that far everything and we get outside it's negative one degrees out and we're walking in these heels for half a mile. Yeah. Let me go inside and I take you right back outside.

Yeah. That's why I was like, what are you doing at that point? I'm like, where are you going? I was, I was warm. My heart was pounding. I mean, after that, I mean, I was sweating. I couldn't even. Yeah, I was just.

I too was sweating. But yeah, so that was funny it was i'm glad i'm glad it all hit me at once of what was happening and why everyone was being so weird but up until then all over your head yeah well we do have a little game for the two of you to play okay just a little game um if you will oh my gosh so basically what we're gonna do here is they both have signs they each have a sign that has their own name and hayley and evan yeah great great demonstration of the signs thank you for the demo um and they are going to answer questions of who they think is more likely to. Then we'll fill in the statement.

We're going to learn a little bit about the both of them today. Okay. Starting out with who spends more time getting ready? I mean, we all knew that. You do always take really long showers. And that is longer than me. And that's really your whole getting ready routine. So to be fair, you take longer at that. That's like 95% of the time.

Yeah, but also I think that's just part of your relaxing, peaceful nature that I will never understand. So that adds up. You know, I don't think I've ever seen Evan in a rush. Have you? No, besides on that Saturday when he was rushing me. Incredible. All right. Question number two.

Who is the better cook? I mean, I've had your taquitos. Yeah. I mean, I don't even know if it's that. You're trying now, I think, more. I'm getting better. I got a smoker. I've had your taquitos yeah I mean I don't even know if it's that I'm but you're trying now I think I'm getting better I got a smoker I've been smoking yeah I don't love smoked um meats that much but you're getting better at it smoked poppers okay mac and cheese all the sides yeah it's it's getting better but I would say like for regular that's more for like a activity or a gathering yeah for regular just

every day i'd say me i'd agree me too thank you thank you all right who is most likely to ask to leave an event early i mean have i ever done that I have to ask you to leave all the time. You would stay forever. I've been just social butterfly. We balance each other, I guess, in that way. Because, yeah, definitely. I'm constantly you're having to ask me to go places. It's good for you.

It's good for me. It is. Builds character. All right. Next question. me to go places it's good for you it's good for me it is builds character all right next question who is the funnier one we both pick ourselves yeah so i mean let's let's hear it justify why you think you're funnier than evan oh my gosh um no I would say that there's a lot of things I obviously love about you but I would I wouldn't say like comedian is like right there at the top you know what I mean like you're funny you'd be laughing I know I mean you're funny but

I wouldn't say I would say I laugh at myself way more You do do that I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing But I guess somebody has to So Evan Not when you're driving it's not a good thing Evan why don't you think your fiance's funny No I think she is funny

Tell the group She is funny Brittany's trying to bully you into saying i'm funny britney's like say she's funnier now she's funny but we kind of bought yeah what do you mean different sense of humor when we're with our friends like what your friends are more hilarious than me? I would agree on that. No, he's about to say, I be telling jokes. That's what I was going to say.

They'll be laughing. Okay, well, I think we're both funny, but I'm funnier. I think Haley's funnier, too. Let's go. A win is a win. He's so upset. He's like, why'd I come on this podcast? To get bullied. All right, I get it.

I wear it out. You repeat it so much. I know you always find a couple good songs and listen to them over and over. And at first I'm like, wow, this is some good music. Then by the hundredth time, I'm like, is this the radio? What are we doing here? You have good playlists. You mix it up. A lot of variety.

New music all the time all right next question who is the better gift giver you just think of like really good ideas all the time for everybody i just try to pay attention to what people say and sometimes i'll even take notes if they say something i i kind of try to pay attention to what people say. And sometimes I'll even take notes if they say something. I kind of tried to do this for other people this year because I'm the most difficult person to get a gift for. I know that. But I was trying to tell people things that I listen for

when they're trying to get, when I get gifts for them you know what I mean so yeah I don't know I just always pay attention to like little details people say or like things they're into and like writing notes constantly I start notes though at the beginning of the year way before holidays of just little things that people bring up like oh that's a good idea write it down tips who is most likely to be dancing at a party or event i would say neither probably me but if anybody yeah you for sure you do a couple drinks and it's just like there gets a head bob going the hand that's how i know you're having a good time it's not just me though i mean it's usually all of our friends no it's just you

everyone else is still evan's the only dancer at our parties i mean karaoke is a different story though yeah who who's more likely to karaoke me where's my thing have we talked about your go-to karaoke song i know i've said mine i don't know if i have a go-to karaoke song fair i don't karaoke i just yell on the mic occasionally this one is for the ladies then what is super bass yeah it's always super bass if you ever give evan the ox that is that's what you're listening to exactly what's gonna happen all right who is the tidiest yeah i'm into i'm into organization used to not be but i feel like when we started living together i was more yeah i was opposite i used to be tidier, I think.

But now, since we live together, for some reason, I'm less tidy. It's fine because you have your little spaces that are unorganized. And I just close the door and pretend I don't see them. And I feel like you're hoping one day I'll go in there and take care of it. But I don't know how my closet like, how do you not? Oh, it drives me nuts. But that's what I'm saying. I just close the door and pretend it's not happening it's there's too much in there it's

I can't I just pretend it doesn't exist my stuff's really nice so with all that disorganization Evan where did you hide the ring oh actually that was in my safe so that was a good hiding spot yeah i would have never but to be honest i probably wouldn't have found it even if it was in your closet or like the nightstand or anything that's true because i wasn't looking and I just avoid those spaces. I did. There's like a battery keypad on it. And after I put the ring in there, it died. And you change the batteries from the inside. So for a second there, I was a little nervous because I had to find the backup key to open it up.

And I forgot where I put it. We almost didn't get engaged. That's why I was delayed so long yeah six years because it was just locked in the safe all that time yeah right propose after day one yeah right you heard it here first all right next question who is most likely to deal with the spiders did you say you yeah he said himself you'd be i yell every day about a bug in the house and i'm not allowed to kill him i have to place him outside somehow listen anything that flies i'm not dealing with but the spiders i don't mind you don't like spiders

yeah i thought you were scared of spiders he is he's just trying to prefer spiders but i'll kill him if i have to okay well we have it on record anything that flies i'm not gonna deal with so that's that's where you come in i literally said to him the other day it was a couple days ago there was a stink bug and uh those fly yeah and i looked it dead in the eyes i like bent down to get something and it was right by my face and i was like ah it's coming to the top of my lung and he was taking his time to get it i go we're gonna lose it we're gonna lose it you gotta get it now and he's like can't you just get it and go, what do you think the point of marrying somebody is? I go,

if you're not good for this, what's the point? I was so mad for nothing. I was literally like in the shower. I was like, get out. He was having his peaceful time. Oh yeah.

He was taking his long, peaceful showers. And I interrupted it. Like she's yelling, I look over at this thing. It's barely crawling. Like it's not going anywhere. It'll be there when I interrupted it. She's yelling. I look over at this thing. It's barely crawling. It's not going anywhere. It'll be there when I get out.

No. Absolutely not. It could fly. It could be anywhere. I straight up used the engagement thing against him. I'm like, if you're not good for this, what's the point? I love it. Sorry.

Sorry. All right. Our final question. This is a good one. Who is the better driver? I mean, that's we're not going to argue on that one. Efficiency. I've got you.

Safety. He's got you. Yeah. If you want to get there safely and still on time, I'll still get you there on time. But you won't. Driving with you like I have to look away. I can't even. It's so funny because of all my years of driving, I've always thought I was an amazing driver.

But then everybody who drives with me has like a horror story of some kind. And I'm like, I didn't think I was that bad. Well, just the other day. We're in the car, you know. I don't know where we're going. It doesn't matter. But Haley was like, you know, you know, when you dream and like things are just delayed and you don't really know what's going on. She goes, that's how I've been driving.

Mind you, she's in the driver's seat and like, I'm like, that's great. That's sick. Like, I'm just just gonna mind my own business over here yeah probably shouldn't have said it while i was driving you but to be fair you don't even drive so you don't like driving because to be fair i'm a worse driver than you yeah i guess that does say a lot so that concludes our how well how well you two know each other. And honestly, you two were pretty accurate. I would say so.

That's good. Yeah, that's a good thing. It's been long enough. It's a match. They can get married now. We got something wrong, though. Only like two or three. It's fine.

You caved a little bit. You're funnier. We bullied him a couple times. bit of a story on this one wait you do yeah you anyone who's curious you do not just get this um you have to apply like you have to send out a application thing really i mean you have to be eligible and then it approves you and you get it but you they don't just send it when you hit it you have to apply apply and get it so that is a little fun fact for you guys but yeah we are so happy we got that and thank you guys all for subscribing and listening and we're gonna do a regular episode we're kind of just gonna talk through a few things that have happened while we've been gone um so much has happened yeah it was one of the busiest few weeks of headlines i feel we were sending each other so many things that were happening on the internet.

We're like, oh my gosh, this is a great story. That's a great story. I knew the whole time when we were sending each other these stories, you were getting engaged and we'd probably be taking a little bit of a break. And moving studios. Of course, we added that fun into that into the mix. But there was definitely some big big moments the Super Bowl happened yeah so that was one of the biggest things obviously was a halftime show that everyone

was talking about because Rihanna announced her pregnancy and it was funny we talked about this too everybody was so quick at first to defend when she first came out, because I think a lot of people missed the initial her rubbing the belly. It was so quick. It was a split second. Yeah, because I feel like when Beyonce had done that in the past or even I want to say Kiki Palmer did it on SNL. She did. It was like it was very much like, bam, here's my belly rubbing my belly. And Rihanna's was so quick that everybody didn't want to jump to the conclusion and speculate. So everybody was still waiting for that confirmation after.

And I know even us watching because we had a few people over. Nobody said anything about it until there was confirmation because nobody wanted to be the asshole that's saying that. Because she just had a baby. Well, it feels like she just had a baby. It had been almost a year now. So I think he might be nine months old. Okay. So, but still very quick, like to get pregnant again, because I think you're supposed to wait like a certain amount of time or something.

But obviously it just happened and nobody expected that because it was so quick um because that's you know not even one years old so yeah and also then she did the interview that came out our the magazine cover and everything that came out right after the Super Bowl so which confirmed it but I was still, you know, shocked. I mean, I think everybody was, um, but yeah, so that happened. And then you brought up how the selfie kid from the super bowl in the past just got arrested. He did. So you have to explain who this kid is though, because i didn't totally remember this so back in 2018 during justin timberlake's super bowl halftime performance there was this kid his

name was ryan mckann mckenna and he snapped a selfie with justin timberlake he was in the crowd got the selfie he went viral he was on Ellen he was everywhere been kind of quiet from him ever since not much came from it yeah um and recently he was arrested at a California pizza kitchen of all places we love California pizza kitchen but that is so random that is not a place you would expect no not, not at all. But I guess he got into a fight with his friend. Not good stuff. But I mean, you know, things are happening.

Wild. Yeah. Absolutely wild. Also, though, speaking of football. This sent me. I mean, when I saw this, I couldn't believe it. Right after we had just talked about it Tom Brady actually for real retired for the second time um and so he retired and then also not only did that

blow up but he was posting some thirst traps people were god I was losing it when I knew we weren't going to be doing a podcast for like and you were seeing this and I was like he's retiring we need to talk about it I don't know if I fully believe that he's fully retired something tells me in my soul that he'll make a comeback again um but in his um video, he was like, yeah, I have no regrets. Not one. Not a single. Um, so also we just brought up how people are trying to sell the sand that he filmed that video on.

Thousands of dollars on eBay. You can sell anything nowadays. You can sell a fart. You can make good money with that. Good business deal. And also during the Super Bowl was that Tubi ad, which I missed. I saw the Tubi ad. Live.

Yes. I thought it was real, but was also confused. And I didn't even see that it said to be at the end of it we're about to lose the you you guys it's a new set and some of our letters are falling off we're not totally secured here um so it's it's a danger zone out here right now but um thank you for that thanks for not letting me get hit. You still might. I'm just giving you that warning.

It's fine. So yeah, I didn't realize it happened until I saw the things after, which did seem convincing. But the only thing I could think of was it reminded me, I've seen so many memes in the past, was like you could trust someone with your life but if you think they're sitting on their remote you will still make them stand up and show you that they're not yes and that was all I could think about when I saw this because it's so true well I was just

confused I was like why why Mr. and Mrs. Smith like oh because that's what they showed that they right I was so confused because i'm like i've never even seen this movie but i saw a tiktok of somebody that was on the team that created the commercial and they just wanted to pick an easy recognizable movie that for some reason weirdly annoyed you and i think anything was going to annoy you that wasn't like the Super Bowl. Yeah, at that point, you thought someone was changing the channel on you. You were going to be unhappy. And had Rihanna been on yet? Oh, my God.

I don't think Rihanna was on yet. And I was like, I'm seeing Rihanna. Like, I'm not changing it. But that kind of reminds me. So Tubi's like a Netflix situation. Right. And also in the past few weeks, it's been this big ordeal that Netflix is going to stop allowing people to share passwords, which that I would almost understand. But I do not understand the whole the way that they're going to tell if you are sharing a password is if you sign in on another Wi-Fi.

How do they know how many places you are? What if you want to sign in at work or you want to sign in on a plane or you want to sign in at a hotel or you want to sign in, you have a vacation home or anything like that. And so this woman said that she had called and asked about that. What happens if you're traveling? Or they also mentioned that they were going to make you sign in every 30 days, even on your home. Let's say you only have, maybe you have three TVs at home and you only have the one Wi-Fi that you're signing in from. You still have to sign in from every single device every 30 days on that Wi-Fi or it'll block those devices. So let's say you don't sign in to your basement TV for 30 days. You can no longer sign in on that. That's so ridiculous because I

feel like I go in phases of where I want to watch. Yeah. So maybe it's in my room for a while or then maybe I'll go through a phase where I just want to watch Netflix on my laptop. Sometimes I forget I have a laptop. So I mean, I don't really know how they're going to be able to continue this because I. It didn't happen yet. Oh, wait, when does it start? I don't know, but I know it didn't happen yet because I share my Netflix with my sisters. And it's funny because I'm the one who always changed the password if we needed to, or gave them the password if they lose it. And actually it's funny today, Elena just texts me, what's the password signing in on my iPad. And I was thinking I'm going to have to be quick and change the password before they do so that I can maintain

control of this Netflix because I don't know what's going to happen, but it didn't happen yet because we obviously all live separately. So we have three different wifi's logging in and they haven't done anything yet. But if you're Netflix and you're watching this, you didn't hear that. Um, but you know, what's crazy about that is years back, Netflix tweeted and it was around Valentine's day. And they said, love is sharing a Netflix password. Yeah. I, I did see that and everyone was saying hypocrites or whatever, but, um, yeah, well, speaking of Valentine's day though, Valentine's day just happened and we didn't really have that episode i know you were heartbroken you're a big fan of valentine's day my favorite holiday halloween it's my second

favorite holiday that's what i thought that's what i thought but um what did you end up you ended up celebrating after because i know there was a big debate too i heard people um I saw this tiktok of this girl being like why do when valentine's day is on a weekday why is it okay for guys to say oh well we can just celebrate it later like we can just watch it or like do it at a different time whatever and she was comparing it to like what if you said that about the super bowl like oh well it's on a Sunday. What if we just watched it later? Like, let's just do it at a different time. And just saying how it's not acceptable or whatever. Um, but a lot of people were like, do you celebrate it before? Do you celebrate it after? And it was a Superbowl right before. So, and I was, I was gone on a bachelorette trip. So I feel like it was my idea to celebrate it after, which was OK with me.

But if it was the other way around, maybe I would have been like, hey, I want to celebrate. I want to celebrate. I want to celebrate. We actually so there was so much going on. We didn't like totally plan a whole thing or anything. But I had been saying to Evan for a long time all I want for Valentine's Day is to play Mario Kart it's cute um so we actually went and bought a switch and played Mario Kart all night I'm jealous I know I was just craving that I also wanted um Guitar Hero

but they don't make it anymore they don't no so you have to like buy it from a second hand like used or whatever and we just didn't have time so we only got the mario cart but it was a very good and bad decision at the same time because now we play every single day but it's something to do and so when we when we watch netflix or something instead now we're just doing that but i was just and even for we we talked about it a little bit and i was like i just want to play nintendogs something about the nostalgia of it all like i just want to play these old games we were talking about it because i was like i was seriously considering i was gathering the internet for a pink ds i never had a pink ds i had just a silver one which was great

but then they came out with the pink one and i may buy it within the next few weeks to play nintendo there's something so fun about just the nostalgia of those kind of games um but also during valentine's day so shakira posted that tiktok um singing kill bill pretending to mask the i guess a crime scene i don't know yeah it wasn't anything crazy but the internet thought it was crazy people were pissed because she was mopping she was mopping but there was a rug on the ground what they were mad at yeah but to be honest she could have moved the rug just for the tiktok on somewhere else yeah but whatever um she's really hammering at home that she is not okay with this guy yeah you know what i would too um and then also this was i saw this on tv actually wild um never watched tv but they were talking about

ai and how for valentine's day oh you should get this ai that it's called your move and it helps you flirt it tells you what to say to flirt with somebody like on a dating app where was this when we were single i wouldn't but um yeah i who's to say how good it is i'm'm not sure. Probably better than me. The fact that it exists. Oh, you're under attack. It didn't hit me. It's fine. Just pretend that didn't happen. So. You all right?

Fine. Oh, gosh. We're. It will all be handled. For those of you only listening, the you may or may not have fallen off the wall. And now we're just the sign is missing letters. So, yeah, there's chat bot for that. But also now since chat GPT came out and we talked about that a while ago, Google is releasing a very similar one to compete with it.

It's going to be called Bard. I don't know. It's supposedly coming public in the next coming week. So I guess we'll see. We could test that one out on the podcast and see how it matches up to chat GPT. Shady story. Yeah, we'll compare them. But going back to some wedding related news rebel wilson proposed to

her girlfriend big congratulations vanessa hutchins got engaged um i think i already said the ring looks like mine it's so cute um And then I thought this was interesting. I just saw this today and I don't know all the details, but so you know how Nicola Pelz, I don't know if I'm saying that correctly, and Brooklyn Beckham got married. They had this huge wedding, very expensive. Supposedly it did not go off without a hitch

because her dad is suing their original wedding planners. So from what I heard, they were only hired six weeks before the actual wedding. Which I find absolutely insane. That would be a very hard job to do, especially for a wedding that scale. Oh, yeah. But they were complaining about there was a lot of issues with guest lists, bad food, etc. And so the dad is suing them and they're suing back. The planners are suing back saying that they were difficult to work with and it was impossible, whatever. So I would, if I was them and had this beautiful big wedding, regardless, like things aren't going to be perfect.

They ended up pulling it off. And for them, it's supposed to be this happy day. And now they have the dad like dwelling on it as if it was so bad that he has to continue this out and sue these people. Like, could it really be that bad? And that he has to continue this out and sue these people like could it really be that bad and now he's i feel like at that point if you're dragging it out like this you're almost tainting the memories yeah because when you look back on something like you could look it back on it fondly choose to forget those maybe like hiccups

laugh about it right or you can just hammer in on all the negative and then it's gonna paint this like this is definitely dwelling on the negative aspects of it and I feel like it would make me feel badly like dang like it was that bad for you that you have to sue them yeah oh that's sad yeah so that's a mess and then also just in dating news this has been going on i guess um kendall jenner is supposedly dating bad bunny and i just keep seeing all these things about how they don't speak the same language so how are they communicating they speak in vibes they speak in vibes vibe um but it made me think about how people always say what if your soulmate was from another country or what if your soulmate is on another continent?

You'll never know. And it just kind of made me think about that. Like, this could be, it could be soulmates. And now they're together. And now they're together. But yeah, so that was pretty much our quick little recap of everything that's gone down in the last two weeks. There was a lot.

Shady story number one. I'm a Starbucks barista in Metro Detroit. When I get a mean or rude customer, I do something a little shady with their drink. I give them decaf espresso instead of regular.

We used to have a code when we wrote on cups. For example, if someone ordered a pumpkin spice latte, we would write PSL. If the customer was mean, we would write PSL with a period. Instead, the person on bar would see the period at the end of the PSL and know to give them a secret decaf shot. We don't write on cups anymore, but we do wear headsets. We just whisper into the headset to the person on bar to decaf the drink. Negative energy is contagious, but so is positive energy. Be kind and spread joy, get decaffed. Sincerely, the local coffee gal.

P.S. I never give espresso to mean customers who order decaffed drinks. That could be a health risk. P.S.S. It takes a lot to get decaffed. They are usually a repeat offender and mean on a regular basis. I love this. It's kind of funny. They are, you know, considerate of health risks. It's harmless.

Yeah, it's harmless fun. But it's just knowing that they did it. Yeah. That gives them the satisfaction. I think, I mean, you should be nice to your baristas. They go through a lot. I say there's two jobs in the world that would be really tough for me. Starbucks and Chipotle because people are very particular about the way anything there's definitely way more intense and difficult

jobs in this world don't get me wrong i'm just messing with i know what you meant but like people are like so mean so mean and like so like people that work in like customer service roles like that service jobs like it's tough out there be nice to your baristas or get decaf i i give it a i would say it's nine out of ten i'd say it's a it's a good one nine out of ten i almost wanted to give it a 10 out of 10 just because it made me smile but it's been a minute all right shady story number two a valentine's day shady story back in college i was dating a guy for four months he lived about 35 minutes away from my college and he always drove shit we're down we're down another letter all right back into try again try again should i

just start from the top of the story yeah that's fine okay so back in college i was dating this guy for about four months he lived about 35 minutes from where i went to college and he always drove to me when we hung out knowing that i was a very nervous driver when it came to driving somewhere I had never been multiple big highways and in a different state when it was his birthday that came around he asked me to drive to him to spend his birthday out with him and his friends um fair request for sure I was nervous but I also ended up getting cold and canceling the day before. A couple of weeks later was Valentine's Day. He told me I can drive there or we can break up. So I put all of my driving anxiety aside and drove there. We had a great night aside from when he said I didn't get you anything for

Valentine's Day because you don't deserve it and then we went to get his mom a present lol. We went to dinner, spent time at a bar with his family and then went back to his house. Once we went to bed, he ended up breaking up with me, but he didn't want to, but he didn't want me to drive home in the moment because it was late. We were both aware that it was supposed to snow the next morning, which made my anxiety driving back to college even worse. So I slept over and I cried driving back in the snow the next morning. I specifically thought that maybe you might relate to this story. I relate to the story on many levels.

I've had many boyfriends not get me gifts on Valentine's Day, none of which are my current boyfriend. He is an angel compared to them. Yeah, I had two boyfriends that didn't give me gifts on Valentine's Day, two Valentine's Days in a row. They didn't say I didn't deserve a gift. They just didn't do it neglected to acknowledge that valentine's day existed um so that was weird i guess um i also had a boyfriend i had really bad boyfriends this is another one of the boyfriends actually he didn't get me a valentine's day gift either so um multiple red flags multiple red flags should have known but i broke up with him you know he was at my house and i was like you know what i went through the whole breakup situation

gave like all these like specific reasons on why it wasn't working out and he was just like that was dumb that was a dumb fight like i was like sir we're broken up i specifically remember this because he he ended up staying the night at your house slept in the guest room and then the next day i remember when you left to go to work he was still there and you texted me and you go hey i don't think he knows we're actually broken up because he was saying that i don't know what he said after but he was just like oh that was I was like sir what don't you understand like this oh because he kept saying that was a dumb fight and you were like that was not a fight that was a break yeah and it wasn't even a fight like it was me like giving this like long-winded breakup so I still lived at home and

I was like mom you have to make sure he leaves. Like we're broken up. And then I was driving to work. I hadn't even like gotten out of my sub yet. And I called him and I was like, Hey, just so you know, we're broken up. Like we're, we're done. I still wasn't sure if he fully got it. Um, still thought it was just a fight. I guess.

I don't know what goes through these people's minds that was funny um so i i i would give this story probably an eight out of ten um because for for personal reasons and for you know nostalgic reasons that how you say it nostalgic yeah 10 out of 10 for me um yeah makes sense mems um okay shady story number three okay this is going to make me sound awful but i promise i'm not my fiance makes a lot of money so money is not an issue for him well he proposed and i hated my ring like truly hated it it wasn't me at all. It was too over the top, and I was embarrassed to wear it. We went on a celebratory vacation months later to a tropical location, and I lost the ring in the water.

I literally let it slip off my finger. I pretended to be distraught, and my fiancé was doing everything possible to console me, and then said said let's not wait until we get home let's go get you another one right now we found a jewelry store and he said pick whatever you want so i picked a ring i love we're getting married next month first off evan is still our producer and looked at you like you were insane he thought i was personally reading he's like she doesn't like the ring. No, and that's the thing.

Okay, so I do think you should love your ring. You're going to be with it forever in theory. So you definitely should love it. But I don't think you go pretend to lose it. And yeah, just be honest. You could have returned it. Yeah, be honest with this person. You're supposedly marrying them. You should be able to be honest with them person you're supposedly marrying them you should be able to be honest with them and tell them and I'm sure he would have understood and to be honest he might have

been happy because it sounded like you wanted something smaller so you might have got some money back right you would have probably been happy could have paid for that vacation it is pretty funny though she had a little kim k moment i know except yeah except it seemed like kim was really trying to find her earring and it sounds like this person wasn't trying to find the ring but i mean it's nice that he got her another one right away yeah but um i would have been like here here's a silicone one this is all get. Here's a cubic zirconium one. This is all you get until you cannot lose it. Yeah.

Yeah. But I think that's like a 10 out of 10. Oh, really? Yeah. I was going to say 9 out of 10. Close enough. Yeah. But we're excited to be back. We will have a functioning set next week hopefully and we will be getting back into it and
