Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have lots of good things to discuss this week, but we need to start with the most important, which is this week was the Lions Home Opener. Heck yeah, it was. And both of us were actually in attendance. We sure were. Shockingly enough, I mean, not really for us,
Starting point is 00:00:21 but, like, I feel like it's hard to get us both at a game. It is. It never happens. Sometimes I'm at one. You're at one. We were both their stars aligned. But we didn't end up actually seeing each other because to no one's surprise, I was chasing around a toddler the entire time.
Starting point is 00:00:43 And how'd that go? Couldn't really meet up with Britt. But it was good. Big change from last year. I looked back at pictures from one year ago of Elliott's first game ever. And baby bottle, you know, holding in with the little headphones on, napping part of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Peaceful time. This time was a great, much more physical activity-inducing for me time. I'm sure. I was chasing him around. We did get like 30 minutes out of him where he was like chill and watching the game. Into it. Surprisingly. But I will say the biggest fight that I really didn't consider was keeping the headphones on him.
Starting point is 00:01:24 I see. And I kept re-googling like, does he still need to wear them? but I'm like, how do you get a toddler to keep him on? Because as soon as I'd put him on, just smack him off or throw him. And I was scared he's going to, like, throw him over the edge. I'm like, please. Yeah, please.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Yeah. Could be dangerous. So that was lots of fun. Looked a lot different for me this year than previously. My game looked a little bit different than that. I went and I found a little mini cooler. What do you call it? Cooler dispenser?
Starting point is 00:01:55 Like, so remember, I sent you a picture of it. I went on like a journey for it. Ford Field put out these little, like the Gatorade things that they dump on people at the games. It was like a mini one for cocktails and it was so cute. It was sending me pictures, which this is actually no different. Every single game we talk about this. We text each other the entire update. It's like we're reporting to each other.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It starts with go lions. Amen. And then it just goes from there. And pretty much it's the same every time. And unfortunately, this game was no different because the Lions beat the the Saints by only one point in overtime. So stressful. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:36 That's every single game. And I think if we looked back at all of our texts from this time last year, it's going to be the same exact thing. We're like, let's freaking go, never mind. What was that call? Oh my gosh. This is stressful. And then in the end, it's like, okay, we did it.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Makes no sense out of context. No, out of context. It's literally live tweets to each other. Live updates. So, yeah, we ended up when. So go lions. And I will say this. Neither one of us look that good in fantasy.
Starting point is 00:03:06 No, we were the worst in our league. Me and you, I was like, I kept looking. I was like, you know what? At least I'm in good company at the bottom of the leader ward. I genuinely was like just afraid to refresh because honestly, it didn't matter if I refreshed. I was getting no points. Like players who are, my team was looking good.
Starting point is 00:03:27 And players who are supposed to be. so good we're getting like losing points and I'm like what are you up to it made no sense like I don't want to talk about the bears because you know how I feel about them however they scored like I don't know something crazy like 50 points in their game why did Loveland my tight end didn't get a zero points how does that work out but truly that's why fantasy I feel like if I feel like a lot of people probably don't play fantasy because this is kind of new to us obviously that's your learning. We're learning. We're learning. But like fantasy is basically you draft your team.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You hope that like each individual player, they're all from different teams. You just hope that they play good in the game that they're in. Correct. And if you're not watching all the games, which like we don't watch all the games. We mostly watch the Lions plus a few here or there. Correct. So we don't fully know what the players are up to. And it depends on like how good their team that they're versing that week is too.
Starting point is 00:04:27 So like a lot of factors. There's a lot of factors that go into it. But truly, like, to do as bad as we did. We're on the bottom of the period. I'll be honest. It was actually impressive. It was impressive to do that bad. There was a big gap between, like, us.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Like, we were, like, very, like, if we would have been playing each other, like, neck and neck, like intense game. Oh, ours would have been neck and neck. But, to be fair, I felt better in the end because it doesn't matter. Because now if in fantasy, we're doing it different this year. where like every week somebody wins like most points which last year we didn't do that we just had the winners in the end of playoffs right which we still have which we still have but this is so like along the way someone can win discouraged like say you have like a losing record like something crazy
Starting point is 00:05:16 i don't want to like put any numbers out there don't jinx us we'll get them um but then say like you have a losing record but we're getting close to the playoffs like the games still matter because you could still get that weekly prize, which is just the most points. But I felt better about myself because we've talked about this. We're pretty competitive. I don't do well with losing. But I felt better because I actually versed the person that won the entire league for the week.
Starting point is 00:05:45 So they had the most entire points out of everyone. So that made me actually feel better because I was like, even if I would have done. But even if I would have done decently, I'm like I still would have lost because she was the league. Correct. So, like, what is it even? So felt better about that. We'll get there. Less bad after loss.
Starting point is 00:06:02 But speaking of fantasies and football, Aaron Rogers decided to go on a podcast and talk about his ex-fiance, Shailene Woodley's supposed fantasy before their wedding that they ended up calling off. So apparently, Aaron Rogers says that after he proposed to Shailene Woodley, A few days later, she says that she needs to go hook up with someone else before they get married. Allegedly. Allegedly. Which he made it seem that there was a specific individual that she was referencing.
Starting point is 00:06:37 And I think the internet also thinks there's a specific person. Well, I was seeing everything that it was Theo James from the Divergent series that she's in. And everyone kind of understood it. But even more than that, regardless of who it may have been about. Everyone was kind of in support of her because they were just like, at least she was communicating with him. A lot of people just go cheat. At least she wasn't technically going to be cheating. She told them about it in advance.
Starting point is 00:07:04 At least she had some respect. And everyone said, who was going to blame her? Who wouldn't do that? I think this backfired on him so heavily because she had just won. I want to say her first Emmy. Yeah, she won her first Emmy for the show Paradise that I've been telling you to watch. I'm working on it. I didn't realize she's in it.
Starting point is 00:07:24 More of an incentive to watch. So she was in the latest season, but she was not in the previous season. She wasn't in season one. She's in season two. Yes. And so like the characters did shift. And honestly, I love her. But at first, I was like annoyed because I was still so into the plot of like the first season.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So the plot changed. Like a little bit. It changed slightly. And it was a lot of stuff about her character. Okay. And so like at first I was like, what are they doing? Why are they changing it so much? much. But in the end, it was Emmy worthy performance. So I got to watch. You got to watch.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Well, I'm, you know, I'm stuck on Game of Thrones right now. I know, I know. We'll get there. Yeah, we'll get there. But he was definitely trying to steal her spotlight. He was trying. And people read him like a book. People were like, you know what you're doing. This didn't work. No one's honest. I haven't seen one person on this man's side. I think that this is hilarious, that the internet is behind our girl Shailene. And people are like, you know what? I'm proud of her. Yeah, literally everyone.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Well, a lot of people have, and I don't agree with this, but a lot of people have like the stance that ask, don't ask permission, ask forgiveness. In her case, she was doing that. She asked permission instead of just forgiveness. You know what? And he apparently wasn't too happy about it. Today's episode is brought to you by Zbiotics.
Starting point is 00:08:51 As a mom, I feel like going out looks a little different now because even if I have dinner plans or a girl's night, I know I'm still waking up the next day and immediately going back into mom mode. There's no sleeping in until noon when you have a toddler who has plans for you at 7 a.m. So I'm definitely more intentional now about thinking ahead and doing the little things that help me feel like my best self while still enjoying a night out with my friends. And if I know I'm going to have a drink, Zbiotics pre-alcohol is one of those things. Zbiotics pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic. It was engineered by Ph.G. Microbiologists to break down acetaldehyde and unwanted byproduct of alcohol metabolism. It's also super easy to work into your routine. Make pre-alcohol your first
Starting point is 00:09:38 drink of the night. Drink responsibly and enjoy your next day activities. Starting point is 00:10:11 Thank you to Zbiotics for sponsoring today's episode. But also I found this interesting, and I didn't realize this I saw online. that at the Emmys, Shalene was spotted having a deep combo with Olivia Munn, which was another one of Aaron Rogers' exes. So people think, like, they were kind of, like, gossiping about it together, like, what happened. Because, in my opinion, that it was kind of, like, toxic of him to do this.
Starting point is 00:10:37 He's currently married, supposedly. Correct. So, like, you're bringing this up, allegedly, which we thought it was, like, an AI robot or something. It still could be. We never seen her still. No, no. And so it's kind of toxic to do that.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So it sounds like maybe they were relating on some of that behavior. But speaking of the Emmys, the Emmys happened, we're going to do the Emmys, red carpet, talk about some of the Emmys and some of just the people that were reviewing their outfits. We're going to go on a few tangents because I have things to say about some of them. But that just happened. It was the 78th Emmys on Monday hosted by Mariska. And did you ever watch SVU, like Law and Order? No, I mean, sometimes it would be on it like the nail salon, but I've never like
Starting point is 00:11:26 been into it. I mean, honestly, it's kind of dark. A lot of the stuff is dark, but I will say for whatever reason, me and my roommate in college, freshman year specifically. Yeah. Always watched. Really? SvU.
Starting point is 00:11:43 It was like always on besides, you know, HDTV. Like that was like the comfort show. But then, like, if we wanted to actually watch something, it was just always on. And somehow it was one of those things where it was always an episode we had never seen. Even though we were watching it every day. I do like they have a lot of episodes. Yeah. So it was like always an episode we'd never seen somehow.
Starting point is 00:12:03 So we would, like, randomly just get into it and be like, that's what we did for hours. Yeah, hyper focused on it. Yeah. So anyways, she was the host. And, yeah, just a lot, a lot of celebs, a lot of stuff going down, some comments. of Tom Holland and Zendaya. I love them. We will discuss in the bonus content.
Starting point is 00:12:23 So if you want to see that, go join us there. But speaking of Red Carpet Reviews, it's about to be that season. And we have some runways to talk about too. Sure do. Because New York Fashion Week is going on. And the big names this year, Ralph Lauren, coach, Michael Coors, Torrey Birch, Carolina Herrera. I saw a lot of the Carolina Herrera.
Starting point is 00:12:47 like red carpets, celebs going and attending. But it's kind of like it's been for the last few years, I will say, where it kind of feels like it's less about like the runway. Yeah, that's what I've been seeing. And just more about like who's there in the audience, what they're doing for like marketing wise. Are they doing other activations? Like I feel like that's what people are interested in.
Starting point is 00:13:14 They are. It makes it more like. I feel like people feel that they're in attendance when they're seeing, like, things around the city happening. People are just invested in, like, as a whole. I feel like it's almost like, and maybe this is a bad comparison, like Coachella. Like, people aren't just interested in the performances. Now it's like, okay, but what's happening at the houses? What's happening at the Revolve fest of it all?
Starting point is 00:13:41 It's like the cultural phenomena of it all. Correct. It's a whole thing. For me, I will say, I almost don't like. it for New York Fashion Week because something about New York Fashion Week used to feel so unattainable or like so like niche for the fashion world like you're there if you're a designer or like working specifically for the fashion houses not like if you're not in that world and now it feels like it's yeah it just feels like it's open to like so many more people it feels like I shouldn't be seeing this
Starting point is 00:14:15 That's kind of how I feel. Like you're seeing like too much. Yeah, like it makes it less of a mystery. You know what I mean? Almost like the mechella world. It's like we don't really see what's going on inside. Yes. And that's what we feel like fashion week.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Because you think like fashion week high end, we don't get to know the ends and out. Well, yes. And I think that that's a lot of the commentary that I've been seeing across TikTok was now we have these fast fashion brands like like a Princess Polly or an O Polly. I don't know if Princess Polly did. I think it was O Polly. It was O Polly did a fashion show and some people weren't happy about it because they're like, no, this is meant for the high end, the luxury fashion. Well, not fast fashion.
Starting point is 00:15:05 And I think that's what people are starting to see more of there. And they're like, this isn't. No. And you don't. Timeless designed piece. It's like what's trendy? Yes. And I think a lot of people's point with it is like the world doesn't take New York Fashion Week as seriously as it once did because you don't necessarily see things like fast fashion happening at the Paris fashion weeks.
Starting point is 00:15:31 I was going to say it feels different because when you compare it to other fashion weeks that go on, I don't know what goes on there. Correct. And like I feel like that's how it should be. Yes. That's like I like. Like now I'm like, ooh. Yes. You know, it's a mystery.
Starting point is 00:15:45 You're interested. But some of the stuff I didn't even know, I guess this is a new thing. Retro feet fat. Retro fat? I've heard of it. What's crazy about that is I've actually bought stuff for, I specifically remember, for my like, wedding era. Engagement party from there. The thing is, is I've never seen it written out.
Starting point is 00:16:06 I've only ever heard people on TikTok say retro fat. So we'll just go with that. I'm thinking this is all one and the same. Okay, that's, I'll take your word for it. Specifically wrong. Well, they did a C now, buy now collection, so, like, you could literally buy it there off the runway. So, like, um, now I can't think of it.
Starting point is 00:16:32 The TV network where you can watch things. Oh my gosh. And buy them. Dude, we didn't talk about this. No, we didn't. No, we didn't. No, we didn't. It looks like you got to.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Yes, what is that call? What's the, it's a whole network. QVC. I used to love QVC. I don't know. I feel like my family when like, I remember at some point, I feel like we were in like,
Starting point is 00:16:54 I was in elementary school and we went through a phase of like having it on the TV regularly. What's crazy about that is QVC actually feels more unattainable to me than New York Fresh Week because here's a thing. It's like, it's like a mystery to me. Like I've never seen QVC in real life. When you're turning on after. But like I know about it. I've seen it.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Like, you can order things. I know, but that's what I've never experienced it in real life. It's like, I don't even know how to get there. It's like another world. It's like Harry Potter. I don't know how to get there. I don't want to get there. Well, you turn the TV channel and I feel like back in the day you would have to like
Starting point is 00:17:28 call to place your order. Well, no. That's actually something I've seen on TikTok is people calling into the QVC to like say like that they bought something and like they love it. Well, that's what happened with. Well, Miss ma'am. Well, people were like, I've seen ones that people call it and be like, I had this bra.
Starting point is 00:17:47 And like, they always just like, tell us story. And they have to be paid actors. The ladies on the QVC are like, oh, my God. Like, don't know what to say. I really have something to say here. The people. Oh, I thought you had like a revelation. Like, you bought something from the QVC.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I am sure my mom did. I've never bought something from the QVC. And now I feel. like there's modern day QVC on the TikTok. I mean, basically, that's what... You ever just scroll past the lives and people are doing tri-on and talking to... This is the exact... Our generation.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Our generation of it. But yeah, so a lot of marketing going on there, and I really needed to bring this up because more in brilliant marketing. Alex Earle. Genius. Her new real actives campaign. Latest commercial for her go-com serum. Completely dropped Easter eggs.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Like, you would have... thought Taylor Swift wrote this commercial. No, it was insane. Insane how many Easter eggs were carried throughout this. And this is the best part of it all. I saw the ad, didn't think twice of it. Oh, cool, whatever. She put on a new thing. Scroll. Then I see people like commenting with saying, hey, there was this, this, this Easter egg. So then I go back. I rewatch that. I'm pausing it. I'm pausing it. You're zooming in. You know how many views this girl got on this ad just because people kept replaying, pausing, finding new Easter. She's smart.
Starting point is 00:19:14 So smart, so genius. But some of the ones that were referenced, so she's putting out this new serum, go calm. And one of the first ones was how everyone has been saying that she got like a plastic surgery for like, I don't even know, her butt or something, like butt pads or something or she wears butt pads. I've also heard, like, seen that. So she put like a poster on the wall in the beginning of like something with butt pads.
Starting point is 00:19:39 then she did mirror ball gator like dancing with the stars yes yes because Robert won Robert Irwin won then the one guy
Starting point is 00:19:51 in the video had a 95 jersey which a lot of people took as like a Tom Brady reference then at the end she says like call her calm instead of like call her daddy basically there was just
Starting point is 00:20:05 tons of like Easter eggs in this thing and it literally did get people. Everyone's talking about it. And we still are. And we still are. And yeah, we still are. But I just think it's so genius for a commercial to do the Easter eggs because like now
Starting point is 00:20:20 everyone's rewatching it. And an ad, like, I just, I've seen so many ads on TikTok that like nobody, you don't watch it because as soon as you realize like it's an ad, you're just like, okay. Which truthfully at first, that's what I did. I like just scrolled. No, that's fair. Oh, okay. A new thing.
Starting point is 00:20:38 And then I was like, wait. I need to go back and walk. So yeah, very good marketing for her. I swear, that girl just does not miss. No, she doesn't. But on the opposite side of that. Some interesting marketing, I guess you could say. A girl who seems to keep missing.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Keeps missing in the ad. Sidney did an ad for a company called Novig. And the ad was supposedly sports, but it was really just like, I couldn't have told you what the company what the actual ad was because of what you just said. Right. And I feel that this was a lot of the criticism. Well, a lot of the criticism came from,
Starting point is 00:21:18 like, actual female athletes were like, we need to stop sexualizing women in sports. Correct. So a lot of it was from that. But also a lot of it was just because people were like, I still don't know what this is. Like, what are you selling? I can't tell you one thing that was supposed to be, like,
Starting point is 00:21:38 a takeaway from this ad. Right. And that's the thing that people were saying is, like, I guess people know the name of the company, which... I didn't even know it. But now it's like, okay, so what is it for? I'm not even going to look it up now because I don't want to know. I don't care to.
Starting point is 00:21:54 So didn't do too well. And I actually saw them do this with a couple other, like, influencers. Oh, really? Like Bobby Ltaugh did it. Like a similar one. She wasn't, like, as... nude as the original one, but like similar concept. And I don't know if they did it with other influencers, but very interesting take on it.
Starting point is 00:22:18 They ended up putting out like a statement saying that they didn't intend it to be commentary on women's sports. So I see. Interesting. But I wouldn't classify that as a win for sports. Nope. But similarly, what took place at the high rocks competition? Did you see this? I can't say I have.
Starting point is 00:22:41 I'm excited to hear what's going on. It wasn't a real shitty situation. Wait, hold on. Literally. So wait, I'm so scared because, so before, did this take place, like, over the course of week, like, maybe on Sunday was this happening? Yes. Okay, because Brian and I went to a bar in Detroit before we went to the game,
Starting point is 00:23:02 and we couldn't fathom why rock climbing was on the TVs and, like, not, like, pre-football coverage because so was it like indoor rock climbing i don't know or is that something totally no i think that's totally different okay never mind so you're going to hate this i'm i fear basically high rocks is a very niche like sport that people compete in not indoor rock climbing I gathered, they do a bunch of different activities, and it's like a race. So you'll do like burpees, this, that pole-ups, whatever, rowing. It's like a peak fitness competition. And one of the athletes.
Starting point is 00:23:51 I know where you're going with this. I have literally had a bowel movement during the competition and continued competing. And so everyone who was going. behind her was in the feces. And people were very, very mad because they didn't stop the race or clean the equipment. They didn't take her out of it. But other people who vomited from the situation occurring got disqualified. Okay, well, absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:24:22 And she ended up. What's the difference? She should have been ripped off that field or whatever she was winning. Absolutely. And everyone's like, of course she won because no one wanted to go behind her. Right. She literally took out the competition. Took them out.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Like, clean. Well, dirty. In the dirtiest way possible. That's actually foul. Some people were like, that's cheating. No, it is cheating and it's foul. And like, what did she read the loopholes that like, shit doesn't count, but that does? That's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:24:53 So now they changed the rules and they included that in there because before it was like, vomit and blood or something if that you're medically withdrawn if you like have blood or she should have been and so now they change it to urine urine or feces she won on a on a technicality exactly that is and like how do you not remove yourself out of embarrassment that was my respectfully out of embarrassment that was going to be my main point is I don't care what I'm doing I don't care what I'm doing if if you if you show yourself you're leaving the activity. I can't you look at me. I cannot believe. I cannot fathom. And she was wearing like super short shorts too wasn't like running down the legs. I mean genuinely. How do you recover from that?
Starting point is 00:25:44 No and the other thing is is she didn't like apologize. She like thanked people for supporting her. No. Which I didn't see any support. So I'm not sure where she's getting at. I mean this with my whole heart. Her reputation has gone to it. No. And pun intended. Genuinely. Pun intended. This is not okay.
Starting point is 00:26:08 We can't allow people to do such things. To continue on like nothing happened. I really don't know. There's nothing that I love in this world that would let me to continue on. No. No. I can't think of one thing. You know, no.
Starting point is 00:26:28 There's nothing in Disney World that would. stop me from going to a restroom, removing myself from the situation. I, yeah. I don't know. There's literally, you couldn't pay me to do what she did. No. You couldn't pay me big bucks to do what she did. That's horrible.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Yeah. Well. Oh my gosh. Those poor people are going to have such bad PTSD. Very, very. I would never run in a race again. No. But you mentioned big bucks.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Big bucks are for the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Isn't it? Not for long, I don't think. Well, they better get it while they can. Back again. Immediately chaos. Immediately. You don't, you didn't watch yet.
Starting point is 00:27:17 I've heard. I've heard. I actually started watching and I was just immediately pissed. Like I actually wanted to just turn it off because I was so irritated. Taylor Frankie Paul. immediately comes on and just is like, oh yeah, I'm cheating on my fiancee from The Bachelor. Period. And did she ask him if that was okay?
Starting point is 00:27:38 She didn't. And you know what? She actually, the episode I'm in, hasn't told them. And they're like, are you going to tell him? And she's like, I don't know. And they're like, well, you're talking about it on TV. So, like, he's going to find out that she's not filled with dread and anxiety? I fear.
Starting point is 00:27:55 No, no. Not? I fear not. No dread. No anxiety. No dread, no anxiety. But what really irritate me about this, I was just like,
Starting point is 00:28:04 I don't know if then you can assume that she takes anything seriously because, like, I, this was my thought on it. Why am I watching this show and supporting this? When, like, you just wasted so many people's time and money and production crew and all these people who put so much into The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:28:27 And then, like, you just came. home and did that. Wasted millions. Oh my gosh. And that's what actually made me mad about it. Like I'm like, you can't do that to people. That's so many people's like livelihoods on that show. And you just did that to them.
Starting point is 00:28:42 That really irritated me. And I think like a lot of people like the cast around her was like taking it kind of like laughing and being like, what? Okay. Like no one really told her off. by guys in the situation. And I was just like, I don't know. I feel like I would have been like,
Starting point is 00:29:03 I don't want to hear this. I don't want to be a part of this. I want no part in what you're doing. Don't tell me. Yeah. Well, actually, that's what's happening now. Allegedly, one of the girls on the show, Michaela, is saying she's not coming back
Starting point is 00:29:17 if Taylor Frankie Paul is coming back for the next season. I didn't know that there was an ultimatum. I thought she was just leaving the show. She said that because she's filming, she's stopping filming. Well, you know what? Good on her. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Sometimes somebody has to put their foot down. Like somebody should have done in that hydroglithics. Highrox. Highrox competition. Exactly. Hydroglyphics. Can you imagine? But yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:45 So a lot of these girls are now starting to be like, okay, maybe we're not going to do this if she's still on the show. But it's just like kind of all the same old drama. Her and Dakota all just chaos. It is chaos. I've heard one of the girls compared Taylor and Dakota to Romeo and Juliet. The modern day, like TikTok. Yeah, I don't like that. Jesse, I think, said it in like for confessional.
Starting point is 00:30:07 What's actually funny, though, to me and why I just really needed to say all this, because I put it on and Evan was watching it with me. What did he think? And he was stressed out. And we turned out the show and he goes, why do you want to watch this? This is stressful. And I was like, actually, you're not. It was.
Starting point is 00:30:28 He's like, oh my gosh, they're at this event. They're about to like fight when there's kids around. I'm like, dude, I don't know. But yeah. His worst nightmare as a very chill man. Very not good for him. I was like, no, we can watch something else. So that was where we left it.
Starting point is 00:30:45 But speaking of Secret Lives and Mormon Wives, Connor Levitt was on Dancing with the Stars. No, he was. Spoiler. He's not anymore. Quickly ended. Did you watch any of it? Only online after the fact. I didn't actually watch it, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:03 It's going to be a good season. I watched last night. Currently, the girls are performing, so we don't know how that played out just yet. But for night one, it's two night premiere. So night one, just the boy celebrities performed. And now the gals are performing as we speak. And they'll have a second elimination.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Okay, so I saw online and I don't really keep up with dancer stars that much. But I saw people say that usually they don't eliminate first night. Correct. This is an unprecedented season. I don't know if I'm saying that word correctly. Unprecedented. But they have the most amount of celebrities, most amount of couples.
Starting point is 00:31:42 So with that being said, they weren't able to get through all of them in one night, which is why they split them in half. And I think that's why they're speeding up the elimination process with doing. There's more people. There's more people. So they're getting rid of two. And then I anticipate, like, throughout the season, maybe they'll have a night or two where they don't eliminate anybody.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Hard to say how the numbers will play out. But it was a really good premiere, unfortunately, Connor L, Hookin L, and will not be continuing on. But I think he had a lot of the odds against him. One,
Starting point is 00:32:14 he doesn't have that big of a following. And although it is a dance competition, it does come down to say in votes, the popularity. And his partner, Adele, she just won the dancing with the stars, finding the next star.
Starting point is 00:32:29 I forget the name of the comedy. The next pro. Yeah, the next pro competition. So, unfortunately, she also doesn't have. She doesn't have a huge following. Like a lot of these dancers on the show, they have as many,
Starting point is 00:32:43 if not more followers online as the celebrities they're partnered with. So they pull all votes in their own right and can carry their celebrities through. So they had that working against them also with it being. Adele's first time on the show. I also heard that
Starting point is 00:33:01 the voting like went down or something. It did. So it was I think it was like a dancer two in. They were doing updates and voting went down on the website. So typically you can vote online like on a web browser or you can text in
Starting point is 00:33:17 your votes on who you're voting for. So what gets tricky with the texting especially with this season there was two Conner. There was Connor L and Connor W. you. So normally you just text the first name of the celebrity you want to vote for. But with those two, like if they weren't really paying attention and they just said Connor, not going to either one of them. So could have been, you know, part of it.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Part of it. And you don't have, it's a lot easier to vote just like on a web browser. So that was working against, um. There was a theory I saw that somebody said that they might bring him back saying that like, voting wasn't working or something. I don't think that. It was very clear to me, and this is me, this is my opinion. This is your professional dance opinion. My professional dance opinion was he had the worst dance of the evening.
Starting point is 00:34:10 And I'm sorry, that's just how I felt. It was also how I felt things were going to shake out going into it, because I am in a Dancing with the Stars, fantasy, like a Fantasy Football League, but for Dancing with the Stars. and I did predict he may go home, but it was tough. It was a little cringe. And I think Carrie Ann was thinking it.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Well, that was the other thing I heard about it, though, because so the pros make the choreography for the dancing. Yes. And people were saying that he was also at a disadvantage with the choreography itself, because Adele may not be as good at choreography as the other pros because she was just learning. Yes, and the show that the competition she was in
Starting point is 00:34:52 was more so about the dancing. itself. So she could be a great dancer, but not know how to choreograph. Correct. And not know how to teach somebody who, like, take someone like, like a Whitney Carson or like a Daniela, like dancers, pros on the show. Like, they know how to teach and they know how to teach really well. And they've had a lot of experience with it. So I think it's tough for any pro. Like even Jan last season, he was a new pro. He was partnered with Jen from Mormon wives. They had a hard time. But I think she'll learn. I think because she'll stick. She'll stay on the show.
Starting point is 00:35:26 She'll continue to dance with the other, like, pros in their group numbers and things like that and be able to see things backstage. So hopefully she'll do better next season. It's a bit tough for Connor and Adele. I think Whitney was really looking forward to being a wag of dancing with the stars. I did see parody videos of people, like, reenacting what it was probably like. She got upset she was when he got eliminated. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:52 That's what they were saying, like. We should have practiced long. Yeah. Oh, man. But it'll be interesting to see you, so we'll keep you guys updated there. For now, let's get into some of this week's Shady Stories. Starting with Shady Story Number 1. My husband was in the military, and as a result, he has war buddies, which is to be expected, except one of them is a woman who's, like, annoying about the whole thing. Recently, we went on a birthday trip for my husband's birthday, and it was very physical. Hiking, zip lining, fishing, you get the idea. Just a very masculine trip. I'm six months pregnant, so I didn't participate, but I went for moral support, and most of my husband's friends brought their wives too. It wasn't my cup of tea, but he had fun, and that's what matters, especially since I am now a
Starting point is 00:36:40 lion's widow, as my husband must coach the team from our couch every Sunday. It was a very stressful, it's a very stressful time in his life. Dan Campbell's lucky to have him on the team. Otherwise, they'd never know how they should be playing better. Anyways, This woman found out about the trip and texted my husband that she was hurt that she wasn't invited, but he brought a pregnant woman, you know, his wife, the woman carrying his child, the spawn point of his firstborn son, the one who's going to tear from here to here bringing his big-headed child into the world? I'm not annoyed by this at all. Who does that?
Starting point is 00:37:17 Why, can I delete her contact from his phone in a fit of pregnant rage? I support it. Literally. That's a crazy question. Oh, you're bringing a permanent, like, as if you're not his wife, the mother of a child. I mean, you said it all. Regardless of the situation, pregnant, not pregnant, whatever, he can bring his wife to this trip. Like.
Starting point is 00:37:38 I think I support going a step past, deleting her contact, and maybe we block it. Have we thought about that? Or just not difficult to do on a phone. From his life. I don't know. That's my. Yeah. And he should see this as a problem.
Starting point is 00:37:54 too. I think Dan, Dan Campbell, wouldn't approve of this woman's behavior. Correct. Wouldn't approve of that kind of toxicity, you know, entering one of his, you know, his prime coaches, one of like his best support staff, like being weighed down by such a woman. Yeah, negativity. He doesn't like that kind of, no, Dan, Dan Camel is a man of honor, integrity. And I think, I think he loves and respects his wife and would want a member of his coaching staff. To do the same.
Starting point is 00:38:24 To do the same and respect your wishes. So. Exactly. That's my two cents. Enough said. Shady story number two. Where do I even begin? I was in a relationship with my ex for four years.
Starting point is 00:38:38 He moved into my home. I was basically another mother to him. I'm a single mom of two wonderful boys. I'm a five years older, but mentally practically another generation older. I made some very bad financial. decisions well together and when I broke it off due to alcoholism, abuse and torment I suffered through plus my poor boys. Either way, he always said that he would be able to help financially pay off the loans we accrued together. Well, that lasted maybe a year. He stopped paying me altogether in March,
Starting point is 00:39:16 so that meant I had to take on another $400 a month by myself. It was a huge hit for me. I I was so upset, I blocked him and vowed never to speak to him again. Until he emailed me and told me that he almost died, I, like an idiot, check in on him to see what was going on. At the time, I also saw a go-fund me posted for him in his medical bills. I saw that it was almost at $8,000. During my brief time of talking to him, he had the audacity to show me the pictures that he paid for over 3,000 to have his truck lifted
Starting point is 00:39:55 and was able to get it fully covered and was able to get fully covered for health insurance and that he doesn't even have to pay a copay. He's not working at the moment and he's followed up with my mom pays for my living expenses and my dad pays for my truck and my stepdad pays for my rent. So basically, not only has he bailed on paying for me what he owes,
Starting point is 00:40:17 he scammed a lot of people out of money thinking that he had thousands to pay in medical bills. That's absolutely not the case. I'm feudming about it. How dare you think you can stop paying your dues, take money from other people, then brag about having everything covered for you. It's upsetting to struggle financially every day
Starting point is 00:40:38 and to see him get off like this. Call the IRS. Also, like, what are you, Dejan Love? You're scamming people, raising $8,000 for medical bills that don't exist? Also, call the police. Well, yes. But also, don't the GoFundMe pages like you can report if it's not fraud.
Starting point is 00:40:59 Legit. I'm just calling out all the big words, all the big dogs that I know. IRS. IRS. Call. I don't know. Anyone you can think of. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Anyone you can think them. Give them a call. Take this to TikTok. Why haven't we thought about that? Let's tell. Honestly. Yeah. And use names.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Don't be afraid. Show no fear. I'm going to be honest with you. What? They actually did put the name and said put him on blast. But that's not on us. That was her choice, not mine. You do it on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:41:34 If you feel that you need to. Put him on blast and feel no shame in that. You feel shame. He's going to be the next day, Jean-Love. Mm-hmm. Shady Story number three. Hi there. This is the Shady.
Starting point is 00:41:48 story of my life right now. I'm newly divorced after being with a pretty toxic guy the last seven years. After a lot of people in my life found out about my divorce, they started reaching out because once I started dating my ex-husband, I wasn't allowed to talk to a lot of my friends and I had to cut a lot of people out. One of those people was a guy that I had known since seventh grade. He was always a crush. In our early 20s, we were fun buddies that would hang out on and off. I always had feelings for him, but it's always just been a fun situation, so I never pushed it to more than that. But when I met my ex-husband, I stopped talking to him. He had tried to message me throughout the years when life moments came up, like when he bought his first house and graduated college, but I would read the messages and tell him I was happy for him, but I couldn't be
Starting point is 00:42:35 coming and hanging out with him because I'm in a relationship. Now we're in our early 30s and we reconnected. We've been talking for the last three months. We were trying to figure out a time to hang out, but our schedules have been a little crazy. Then right when we finally made plans to hang out, he cancels on me. And I'm like, okay. Then he tells he was canceling on me because he's holding a grudge because he thought that we could have been something. And for the last six years, I ghosted him and ended up with a guy who treated me like crap when I should have just stayed single and seen where things could have went with him. And he has stayed single for the last 12 years. And he's not going to be someone's second option. Mind you, I never knew this because, again, he never told me his true feelings. So we end up hanging
Starting point is 00:43:18 out decide we're going to be fun buddies again we have a great time we hang out a few more times and then he's literally like we can't hang out anymore because i'm seeing someone i'm like okay that's cool i hope it works out for you not even two days later he texts me and is like hey come over i was working so i was like i can't and then the next night he says what are you doing come over then the following morning he writes me and says actually i am really seeing someone so we can't hang out i don't even know what to do with the situation currently because it's like, are you actually seeing somebody? Are you just in your feelings and trying to make me feel as upset as you were when we weren't talking or have been, or have you been seeing someone this whole time, and you were just trying to see me on the side? It's pretty shady to
Starting point is 00:44:01 tell me that you're seeing somebody, but still want me to come hang out with you. So currently, I haven't talked to him in a week because I was literally like boy bye, but he hits me up every weekend like clockwork. So do I ignore him or do I hang out? I would say as Tate McRae once said, Run for the hills. Run for the hill. She doesn't say, but run.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Get out of there. I agree. Ignore, ignore. Block. Do not. Do not engage. Do not see this man. Do not speak to this man.
Starting point is 00:44:36 He seems like. Trouble. Bad news. It's already starting off on a toxic foot. That's what I will say. And so like I don't know if it really goes up from there. No, I don't think so either. I'm not getting good vibes and I have a great sense of vibes. So I get it. Good intuition. Good intuition. Yeah, no, it's starting off on a bad
Starting point is 00:45:01 foot. I fear it doesn't really go up from there. And you know what else I think too? It's one of those situations like easy to fall into where you're like, this is going to be my fairy tale. Like the guy that I was used to have a crush on in like my whatever. And then now it's all coming back together. It was meant to be our invisible string. No, not this time. The string has been broken because it's just getting too toxic. He's being weird, honestly, to be frank.
Starting point is 00:45:27 He's being weird. I agree. It's weird. I don't like it. Makes me feel funny. Wishy-washy. Mm-hmm. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:33 We don't need that. No. So we need someone who's in it. But yeah, that concludes this week's shady stories. want to join us on the Patreon bonus content we're going over emmy's looks emmy's drama and our own two cents about some random stuff i'm sure we'll go on tangents about so if you want to see that we'll see you over there if not we'll see you in the next one bye everyone bye
