Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have a lot to discuss and mainly the men are disappointing us and not in ways all that you would expect. Starting with this first one, we need to catch up because we feel out of the loop and maybe you guys can tell us if we're crazy, but Harry Stiles is engaged to Zoe Kravitz and we feel that this was kind of out of left field. I would definitely say so. I was shocked when I heard this news. And truthfully, I thought maybe there's something I'm missing. Maybe they have secretly been together, or this has been known news,
Starting point is 00:00:49 that these two have been a couple for some time, and it was inevitable. We all saw it coming. No, no, we did not. They've been together for about eight months, I would say. And but to be fair, that's still a pretty short period of time before like getting engaged. It's a very short period of time. If this was somebody we knew, we would be concerned. I, there would be cause for concern.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Alarms would be ringing. Correct. What is the situation? But I did see a take on TikTok and I kind of feel this. Harry Stiles is 32. Yep. And they were like, he has been up to some 30 year old man. behavior. Apparently he's into running now. He's like doing things that he's wearing his hair
Starting point is 00:01:38 differently. Straightening the hair. Yep, I heard that. So people are like, okay, maybe this is just his panic of like he's in his 30s and he wants that. Could be. Because that is something that people tend to see once we start to get into our 30s that people will rush into relationships and rush into an engagement because they feel like it's time. I'm 30. Now or never. Right. My friends are settling down. I should too. I fear we see that. However, it is still a red flag. And I wonder how this is going to affect the girlies who did splurge on his Madison Square Garden 30-night thing. That's coming up, whatever it is. It's in October. His 39. It's like August to October of this year.
Starting point is 00:02:30 And when it came out, everyone was... Because of the price is and takeover. Yes, everyone was really mad because of the prices and this and that. And so, like, the people who did decide to splurred, are they going to be heartbroken? I mean, they still get to see Harry Stiles, which is a win, but he will no longer be a single Harry Styles. So that is... Well, I've seen speculation in the past that, for instance, like Joe Jonas, did an announcement. He was in a relationship until the tour was done
Starting point is 00:03:01 because he thought that people wouldn't come and support. I think people will still come in support. I just... Well, the people who spend their money on the MSG. Book some plane tickets. Yes. Reserved some hotel rooms. Yeah, so that will be interesting.
Starting point is 00:03:19 I wonder if this is like even real, though, because I feel people are saying there's a ring and there was pictures of a ring, but I don't think yet that they have fully said anything. Like, I've seen a lot of things posted about it, but really just that she was wearing a ring. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, there's no confirmation. Because, I mean, I would suppose that Zendaya and Tom Holland did something very similar where Zandaya just began to be spotted with a ring. But I feel like that situation was a little different because they've been together for quite some time. It wouldn't be surprising to, like, jump to that.
Starting point is 00:03:58 conclusion wouldn't be crazy right this is a pretty big league this is this is are they really engaged I don't know they've been spotted out in about I feel like throughout me where were they New York people are in London I want to say yeah they were in boffing around the New England's Patriots head coach Mike Vrable is allegedly having an affair or was having an affair now they're caught with NFL reporter Diana Rusini and this was like big news because really apparently they're both like very well known in the industry she's been reporting for a very long time he's been a head coach and the photos came out from page six showing them at a resort together holding hands now both of them are married both of them have children
Starting point is 00:04:49 and with their respective spouses but this all became like a very big deal because people started going back apparently in 2020 there's evidence of them kind of being together at that time to maybe allegedly and then what was the real kicker no pun intended was she had a baby with her husband supposedly in 2021 a year after they allegedly started their affair and get this what's the baby's name Mike And after that, what does the baby look like? Exactly. That's what everyone wants to know. And after she named the baby Mike and was having this affair, she tweeted, Keep looking at my almost four-day-old son, Michael, while trying to figure out who are the best Michael's to ever play and coach in the NFL?
Starting point is 00:05:53 What an odd thing to say. What an odd thing to say. Really? And on top of that, there's a bunch of clips of both of them just throughout the years of talking and people asking questions. And like her calling her husband average, saying like, oh, well, my husband's average. If he was a good looking guy, like, I'd be posting pictures of him all the time. And him saying, like, oh, my wife's not, like, sporty anymore. She doesn't have that going for her or whatever.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Like just basically both of them like saying negative things over the years about their spouses on the internet for all to see for everyone to hear. Yeah. And so allegedly this has been going on for six years. Now she has resigned. He had to make some statements about it. So that is messy. Very scandalous, I will say. And in the same vein.
Starting point is 00:06:53 everybody was shocked when Megan the Stallion posted on the internet saying that Clay Thompson cheated on her. Now, I don't understand who would do such a thing. But truthfully, I feel like this is always the conversation of like if you cheat on Megan the stallion, then what are you doing? Like, there's nothing better. Like, so what are you doing? But it's also like we had this conversation about Beyonce. say we've had this conversation about like I feel like this always happens and it does we have had the same conversation time and time again and we're sick of it truthfully I don't want to see this happening
Starting point is 00:07:36 and I think that it comes down to this every time is when you know these men I don't even want to call them secure with their successful brilliant beautiful perfect and they have to make themselves feel secure so that's how they act no and they think that like okay now that i've had like the creme de la creme like the best thing in the world like never heard you say i don't think i've ever said that either i honestly did we what i don't know but i just feel like they have like these amazing wonderful women and then they think i can do whatever i want like i think it's just like i'm unstoppable i'm not unstoppable i'm untouchable I can do whatever I want and I must have more like I don't I don't get it but clearly there is like a psychological correlation because it's always these beautiful amazing women yeah people I mean they get a big I think the men just get like this big big ego it's yes and no I think like they get so insecure it's I've heard this too like if a man is insecure he won't compliment the woman because he doesn't want them to feel like they deserve better than him.
Starting point is 00:08:50 That adds up. And so. No, that makes a lot of sense. I feel like you're looking at me like I should know what you're thinking and I don't because because I'm giggling. It's too many. It's too many men that do this behavior. That don't compliment their women.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yes. Yes. Don't compliment because then they don't want the women to leave them. It's like a way to humble. It's like a way for them to hold them. humble the woman because she is more successful, better looking. I hate this. Doing better than them.
Starting point is 00:09:23 So this is what they do to like act out. But also. To act out. To act out. Okay. And also, apparently this is not Clay Thompson's first time cheating on. Of course it's not. His beautiful, successful women.
Starting point is 00:09:38 And allegedly he had a diary of like his cheating. Dear diary today. I'm a piece of shit. No. And his ex at the time posted it, but like it didn't go violent, didn't go anywhere. People kind of just didn't see it. But now that this is happening, people, the internet is doing its thing and it's digging up things from the past. And they found it.
Starting point is 00:10:04 And him basically saying that, like, he is promiscuous. He's a cheater. He can't help himself. I love this. I love this for his last. Who did you say this last ex was? that exposed him for this diary? I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:10:18 She just, somebody posted it. Well, I hope she is having a wonderful day to day and just smiling ear to ear, knowing that this diary is now being exposed to the entirety of the internet. I think yes, but I also do feel bad for her because in a way, like, I, this does make you question yourself. Wait, she posted the diary? She posted just saying that, like, he cheated. Oh, so she didn't post a diary? No. I got confused.
Starting point is 00:10:46 I thought she was trying to expose him for the diary and like nobody. But Megan the Stallion did not. I see. I see. I understand. So like now this is coming out though because everyone's like trying to find stuff on him now to defend her. Internet's a dangerous place. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:11:02 They don't play. Exactly. They will uncover everything you said, did, thought. But yeah. So this is sad. It is sad. And Meg deserves better. And she'll get it.
Starting point is 00:11:16 And of course she will. Of course. What's the saying? You got to kiss a few frogs. Mm-hmm. Also, in other news, some reality drama going on, Hulu had a get-reel event. They sure did. This is wild because I feel that it was talked about as if this has been a thing for years,
Starting point is 00:11:38 but I have never seen or heard anything about this event until this year. Oh, really? And what I will say is, one, I've been watching a lot of Hulu, and I feel like they have been kind of killing it with their shows. Yeah, they have. Two, any clips I saw from the event and them announcing people to come walk out on the stage, it was always, like, so awkward to watch. Like, I was getting secondhand awkwardness. Because, like, every, in the comments, too, were, like, validating me. It was always, like, and the crowd goes mild.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Like, the clapping and, like, the crowd, which I, this. Granted, I don't know what kind of event it was. So I feel like it was almost the people who were walking out were all also in the crowd at some point. I think so. I think it's a relatively like, not small event, but like small gathering. Yes. So like every time you'd think like they were about to go crazy for something, it would just be like. Just like a little golf.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Yes. And so silly. So that was making me a little bit secondhand uncomfortable. But apparently Chloe Kardashian is producing. a reality show. She is. It's going to center around her girls. What is it called again?
Starting point is 00:12:49 The girls. The girls. So it's going to be a new series that is all about her real life in her circle of best friends, balancing motherhood, business, glam trips, and friendship drama. So it'll be like Kardashian adjacent. It feels similar to like, I know her and Courtney did a show about their store, Dash, the Dash dolls. It a that they had like the spin-off series where they took over Miami.
Starting point is 00:13:19 I don't even know where all they took over, but it was always like Kim and Courtney or Kim and Chloe. Yeah, doing something different. So I'm curious how this will go. I feel like they don't have the best track record of spinoff shows because there's been so many at this point. Like Life of Kylie. I don't know, flip it with Dysk.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Like they, I mean, they keep trying. One of them is going to land. one of them's going to stick. Maybe this is the one. I feel like a lot of people are really, like, supportive of Chloe specifically. So I feel like maybe this will work, especially after, did you hear all that and see all the stuff surrounding, like, her being in the Lamar Odom documentary? I've seen bits and pieces, but not enough to fully understand the situation at hand. Dude, it was, it was pretty messed up.
Starting point is 00:14:08 I mean, she was in it just to, like, be nice and, like, obviously she still cares about him and whatever. she was just talking about like that time of them being married and like trying to help take care of him when he was like at his low points and at the end of it like he basically and even when he was doing press for the documentary he was basically just like downplaying like everything she did for him and saying like he never really cared about her he was just using her for like fame and money and whatever and she's like I don't get why he's like saying all this crap like he doesn't have to do this this is his documentary like he could have made it like a positive thing for himself and instead he's like being an ass um but
Starting point is 00:14:42 But a lot of people after that, I think, were just, like, really supportive of her, which, thankfully, something good came out of that for her. Because if not, like, what the hell that was messed up? Right. So I feel like, just in general, people will rally around her. Yeah, rally around her during this time. But I don't know if people are going to rally around this. The Secret Life of Mormon Wives Orange County is happening. And we've heard rumblings of this.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I want to say, for a while, people like seeing filming or just. different bits and pieces so I'm very curious of how this will be received I've seen some comments on you know just the overall announcement that not everybody's necessarily interested in a spin-off I think a lot of it they tried to take people who are already like social media personalities and everyone already has their perception of them so they're not super interested in like a show where they already have like formed their opinions. A lot of times, I think what was cool about the Secret Lives and Mormon Wives is like a lot of people weren't aware of any of these characters until they watched the show and then form their
Starting point is 00:15:50 opinions and like got behind their people that they agreed with or liked on the show. Right. It was perfect timing for the first one. It was perfect. Because people I feel like we're so curious as well about just like the Mormon culture and like everything that came with that. And then they had, you know, I feel like all of the girls on. original show were starting to gain traction on TikTok and had you know bits and pieces of virality virality yes yes i think it worked because people did know taylor frankie paul yeah to an extent they saw her videos they knew who she was it's like oh let me go see what kind of like situations going on here and then they got to meet all these other people were like oh okay i like this person
Starting point is 00:16:35 yeah it it worked out that way but a lot of these people are already social media personality So I think a lot of people already have their perceptions of them and aren't really interested in seeing anything else. And then a lot of the backlash that I saw was that these people really aren't Mormon. That's, I think, the number one thing that people are like, what? Like, at this point, it's like basically like the real housewives of Orange County, which I'm pretty sure already exists. Yes, but people said, like, you could make it the secret lives of Orange County wives. Right. Or something like that makes more sense.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Instead of trying to make it Mormon when it's not. Right. Because people are like, what are we? Yeah. And a lot of it, like Bobby L. Tafts on it. And again, I don't really know too much about her besides, like, her podcast that she originally had that did really well.
Starting point is 00:17:26 But again, I feel like a lot of people for some reason have like a negative perception of her. Yeah, she's been through it. Yes. I feel like people are like, oh, I don't want to watch if she's on it. Or like. Immediately shutting it down. I've just seen like so many people have.
Starting point is 00:17:39 their opinion. So we'll see what happens. Again, like I, and I will say for myself, I'm not rushing to go watch this. Whereas like the Secret Lives Mormon Reds original one, I was like, oh, what's this about? I want to see what this is about. I was very curious about the first season. And now I feel like I just like keep up slightly through TikTok. Yeah. And because of the people on it, like now you're like, okay, I know them. I know their pictures. I know the drama there. And so I want to see the rest of their drama. Exactly. This is kind of just, I don't know. I feel like it's, it's, One of those things were almost the social media part of it could have, like, not helped. Yeah, like it's hindering it.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Yes, that's exactly the words that I could not. No, you're good. I just feel like maybe it was too soon for a spinoff on that series. I don't think it needed it yet. Perhaps. Also, apparently there's a new Dancing with the Starz spinoff searching for a prose. There is. It's going to be hosted by Robert Irwin, which is really exciting.
Starting point is 00:18:38 It's a talent competition show for aspiring ballroom dancers to compete to be the next professional on Dancing with the Stars, which is really exciting. So that's going to be coming out soon. And then they also announced two of the stars for season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, Sierra Miller and Mora Higgins. So I am personally very excited about both of those. Because Mora was on Love Island and the Traders. Yes, sure was. And Sierra was who we actually recently talked about a couple weeks ago. She's in the summer house drama where her best friend ended up getting with her ex-boyfriend and a lot of drama.
Starting point is 00:19:18 And I don't know if you saw this, but actually some leaked audio from the reunion went around. And people were pissed. The internet was up in arms. And even the people who like actually work for, I think it's like NBC or. Yeah. Bravo. Whoever Who owns Bravo?
Starting point is 00:19:40 Yes, whoever owns Bravo. We're very mad. Like contracts or breach. We're going to investigate this. We're going to find out who leaked it. Like all this stuff. It's crazy. I mean, how seriously the network is taking that where I feel like networks deal with much more serious matters.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And don't take those that serious. Right. Like this was like just like a shady little thing. Like people are still. gonna go and watch this reunion. So like for them to be like, this is so serious. How dare you? How evil.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Nothing on this planet could be worse. We're like, I'm like, what an interesting, what an interesting time to get up in arms. Yes, very interesting. But I am kind of looking forward to like what comes out of that. So yeah, we shall see. And on
Starting point is 00:20:30 that note, let's get into this week's shady stories, starting with shady story number, one. When I was about 15, I was having stomach issues and had to get a colonoscopy. My appointment was at 8 a.m. the first of the day. My mom had taken the day off because she had a ton of errands to run after. We were hosting a huge family party the next day. Easy in and out, right? Wrong. What no one told me is that before the procedure, they make you pee in a cup to confirm that you're not pregnant. Cool, except I had already peed twice that morning and I had absolutely nothing left to give. And since you're not allowed to
Starting point is 00:21:06 drink beforehand, I couldn't even fake it. So my procedure kept getting pushed back and pushed back, and people kept going before me. By the time I finally managed to produce the tiniest drop, it was like 1 p.m. I finally go in and get the procedure done, and I start waking up. And I hear my mom sounding super serious and upset, and she goes, the procedure went wrong. You were in a coma for four years. I immediately shot straight up and was like, what? And she goes completely calm. Get dressed. We have a million things to do. Turns out she knew they wouldn't discharge me until I was fully alert, and this was her way of speeding things along so we could still run errands. To this day, it's still one of our favorite family iconic stories. That is cruel.
Starting point is 00:21:49 That is very cruel. But I remember I got my wisdom teeth removed when I was quite young, and I took quite some time waking up. And it's, again, in a situation where they don't let you leave until, like, you're aware. And I feel like my mom had to, like, when they weren't in the room, try to, like, get me to wake up. Like, not, yeah. We're going to go get ice cream. Come out.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Yeah. Because she was, like, she just wanted to leave. We didn't have errands to run. But I do remember her, like, trying to wake me out. And I was taking a minute to wake up. Really? I feel like when Evan, Evan got his when we were together. And it wasn't like that, well, probably, like, three, four years ago. And I remember, like, having to wait in the room.
Starting point is 00:22:33 he was waking up and I kind of too was just like because they don't know what's going on like yeah the person's slowly waking up and you're just like sitting there and like I feel like the nurse has come in quite often like see like oh yeah yeah like and I was just like okay like are you good are we good we'll go home like that's so why Brian got his out again not that long ago like probably we were together and or no this it wasn't his wisdom teeth he had a different surgery but regardless He was on anesthesia. He was on anesthesia. And I guess they were already like,
Starting point is 00:23:10 he was like waking up as they were like rolling him back to his room. And he was like, what time is it? Where's Brittany? Like he was trying to get out of there. He was like the opposite of this. No, he needed to be like, sir, sit down. He was trying to leave. It was so giggly.
Starting point is 00:23:26 And then I came into the room and he was already wide away. Well, he was wide awake, but still like out of it. And the nurses were giggling when I was walking in. And then I looked at the machine, his heart was, like, started to, like, race when I came in the room. I know. So, yeah, it was pretty cute. Shady story number two. Okay, I need opinions because this feels off, but I can't explain why.
Starting point is 00:23:50 I babysit for a couple I know pretty well. And their kid, like five, casually mentioned the girl who sleeps over when mom's not here. I kind of laughed it off at first, but then he kept going like this was a normal thing. I didn't say anything in the moment because what do you even say to that? But now I feel like I'm sitting on something I shouldn't know. Do I ignore it or is this actually concerning? That's pretty concerning. That is, you know, kids, they say some funny things.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Dude, but I feel like that's the thing about kids is they don't know how to lie like that yet. No, they don't. So for a kid to say that, there's some truth to it. There's got to be something. I mean, realistically, could it be... Grandma? Grandma, could it be sister? Could it be Auntie?
Starting point is 00:24:40 Yeah. Yeah, maybe. But they know Auntie, sister, grandma. So maybe ask the kid a couple follow-up questions. Yeah, like, um... Are you related to the girl? Have you... What does this girl say to you when she's around?
Starting point is 00:24:56 What's her name? What did she look like? How old did she? Exactly. questions follow-up questions I feel like could be harmless kids love a follow-up question they love questions same all right shady story number three my mother-in-law wanted me to be a surrogate for my sister-in-law about six years ago my husband and I were freshly married and were at my in-law's house hanging out my sister-in-law had been trying to get pregnant for many years and not having any look they had a bunch of tests done and couldn't find anything actually wrong it just wasn't happening And while we were hanging out, it got brought up. And my mother-in-law looks to my husband and says,
Starting point is 00:25:35 well, if it doesn't happen soon, you guys are just going to have to help. Both of us confused. My husband says, what? How would we help? And my mother-in-law says something like, well, you'll just have to carry it for her. She would do it for you guys. I almost spit out my wine. And yes, we had a couple of glasses.
Starting point is 00:25:51 So I was thinking to myself, this has to be the wine talking, right? There's no way she means it. My husband immediately shuts it down and says, mom, I don't want to watch my niece or nephew come out of my wife's vagina. That is so weird. And we haven't had a child of our own yet. What the heck? The subject quickly got changed. And by the way, not once did she even look my direction or, I don't know, ask me, you know, the owner of the uterus. I chalked it up to a momentary case of psychosis and moved on. But then, literally a month later, we're out to dinner at a restaurant, just the four of us, my husband and I and his parents, and she brings it up again. And once again, doesn't include me or ask me, just looks at my husband and tells him how this is what we are going to have to do if she doesn't get pregnant soon.
Starting point is 00:26:35 This time, no wine was involved, and I'm pretty sure my jaw was on the floor. I was truly speechless, and my husband just shut it down again, and we moved on. Fast forward to today, she now has a three-year-old and a five-year-old, naturally conceived and delivered from her own body, and we have an 11-month-old. Maybe there are people out there that would do this for family members, and I think it's beautiful, but I didn't appreciate my uterus being rented out without even consistent. consulting me. As a fellow new mom and listener, I love hearing mom stories and including motherhood into the content. You're doing an amazing job. Love the pod and love you and Britt.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Aw. Very sweet. Love you too. Love you too. Yeah, so this is crazy. That is actually, especially the fact that you have not even had a child of your own and are being expected to carry another person's child. Not even ask though.
Starting point is 00:27:21 Like, do you want kids? Would you want to do? You're just going to bear a child. Yeah. And it's even more crazy because it's like a mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Like, yeah. You know what I mean? Like, it's not, you're not related.
Starting point is 00:27:36 It's, would you maybe do this for your own family? Maybe it'd be more likely, but like, yeah. You're talking about your in-laws making this decision for you and just being like, oh, yeah, she'll do it. She'll have to do it. She has to do it, right? No. It's like crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:50 No, ma'am. Crazy being here. Yeah, very wild. Glad it worked out for everybody, though, in the end. end and everybody had their babies and congrats on 11 month old yeah very exciting almost a year oh my gosh yeah so close fun times I hope yours sleeps of the night um but that concludes this week's episode in the bonus content we are going to be talking about the time 100 event that just happened going over some red carpet looks but also just talking about the event because there was some
Starting point is 00:28:26 stuff we didn't really know and there are celebrities that write in for the people who are on the time 100 list like kind of random pairings that you wouldn't expect so we're going to get into some of those and talk about maybe some shade behind some of the right end so if you would like to hear that join us in the patreon bonus content if not we'll see you guys in the next one by everyone bye
