Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have quite a few things to get into today, but first we are getting ready to head into spooky season. Let's go. And we are so excited. Make sure you keep writing in the spooky stories, but also this week on the Patreon bonus content, we're going to be decorating the set. So make sure you join that if you want to see that. But for now, let's get into this week's episode, starting with a little weekend recap. We attended the first wedding of the season. Yeah. Of wedding season. And it was so beautiful. Oh oh my gosh and it was at the so much same but i packed tissues this time so it was fine um i never bring like the handkerchief but
Starting point is 00:00:54 i feel like i've bought some i should really bring you bought me a handkerchief for your wedding that i'm pretty sure says like no ugly tears no ugly crying no ugly crying and I used it at your wedding it was very necessary at your wedding but I should really just put that in my purse for all the weddings that we're going to be attending that'd be smart I just made Evan put a crumpled up ball of tissue in his pocket and then when it was needed I had him hand me it um but it was really beautiful it was at the war memorial. And honestly, I thought this was such a good idea. So at their wedding, they had at each table, a card that you filled out for each year, each anniversary. So basically if you're at table one,
Starting point is 00:01:41 you would write them a card for their first anniversary table two for their second and so on and so forth so I thought that was such a good idea and it's something that they're gonna have for what however many tables there were so 18 years they'll have cards to open and read together on their anniversaries they will I liked that we had table 13 it felt spooky but also when I was writing the card very Taylor Swift coded very Taylor Swift coded I was like oh my gosh we're all gonna be 40 when you're reading this like that seems so why are you putting us on blast like I mean that's just the truth of the matter that was just a statement that I made in the card that I wrote I'm sure when they're 40 and they're reading that they're gonna love that. Yay! But it was really fun and we had an amazing time but on the other
Starting point is 00:02:28 hand some other things happened in Detroit this weekend that were not so fun. Not such a good time. So this is kind of going viral right now. It's making national news. Would you say New York Times are writing about this yeah Time Magazine New York Times a lot not a good look this is not who we are not a good look for us but it's also being compared so if you guys remember we talked about this on the podcast when this happened it was the Willy Wonka themed it was supposed to be like um an interactive event and it was supposed to be like an interactive event. It was not. And it was not. And it was such a disaster that those pictures and everything about that event went viral because of how badly it was put together.
Starting point is 00:03:14 And this is kind of having that moment. So it was a Detroit Bridgerton ball. And now Bridgerton did have a ball that went to like 11 different cities. Oh, okay. I didn't know about that went to like 11 different cities. Oh, okay. I didn't know about that. Yes. And this was not one of them. So basically another, like some company from Detroit took over the idea.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I don't know if this was a company. This seems like this was. Uncle and me LLC. Okay. Is what it says. So that's who supposedly put on the event allegedly. And it's literally being called a scam because people were charged $150 to $1,000 for tickets. And initially it was already rescheduled three days before it was actually supposed to happen. It got rescheduled.
Starting point is 00:03:58 So it took place over the past weekend and they said there wasn't going to be any refunds if you couldn't make the new date so people were like obviously we're going to go to this new event however these people who spent all this money on the tickets were not happy when they got there because nobody checked tickets at the door so a bunch of random people were at this event who didn't pay at all compared to people who were paying 150 up to a thousand. I'd be so upset. Right, because why did you waste your money? Yeah, you could have just showed up and rolled in and that was that. Nobody was going to stop you. Yeah, and so people were saying it was super crammed.
Starting point is 00:04:36 It was a three-story venue. And you guys, we will insert photos of what the photo ops were. It was so bad. And no shade to the dollar store they have great deals they have great quality items but these backdrops looked like they were from the dollar store and like wrinkly tablecloths was hung yes like probably like five feet by five feet randomly throughout this venue there was another one i didn't show you this picture of two thrones and then there's like you know those little carpet squares it's like the sample carpets that you would get at a carpet store it was like a red one of those by the feet of the thrones for another photo opportunity and that was an upcharge the throne photo was like an
Starting point is 00:05:26 extra 40 to get this and and it looked like they spent four dollars on it yeah and they didn't have a real photographer they had somebody taking photos on maybe a kind of camera and they had no way to send it to the guests like oh we'll airdrop it to you and people like well i don't have an iphone i don't have airdrop so like okay take a picture of my phone number take a picture of the camera what photo number it is text this number what photo number you were and then we'll send you the photo afterwards that's actually insane it's so insane because we have put on parties ourselves for just like our friends obviously not work events that like have budgets and stuff because those you can do a little bit more but i'm talking like
Starting point is 00:06:08 i plan events at work but i'm talking like us literally just for fun for our friends of like 30 we have done more than i seen right at this event and i feel like everybody that i know who does parties does more than what happened at this event. Yes, I've gone to first birthday parties that have been more high level than what we saw. This was a disgrace to event planning, a disgrace to Bridgerton, and people were literally sitting on the floor. There are pictures of people sitting on the floor because they didn't have enough seats.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And on top of that, the food was allegedly raw food raw chicken they were eating off of paper plates and taking it to like banquet style tables and chairs but then people once they were finished eating there must not have been a trash area or anything like that piled on the table it was just piled up like multiple plates just sitting on tables and just empty water bottles everywhere and also if you're this fancy bridger like why are we drinking out of plastic water bottles right i don't feel like that any part of this fit the vibe at all like there was not thought put into it not a single thought i don't know how how did you push this back three days
Starting point is 00:07:25 like you didn't have time to get your dollar store backdrop and your water bottle cases but also realistically you could have got better stuff from Amazon for cheap within the three days if you really didn't have anything and I guess since they moved venues people were trying to like blame the venue but the venue's like we just provide the space we don't plan the event so like don't look at us um yeah but i think overall the main part of this that was super shocking was they were supposed to provide entertainment which was a single violinist in a corner yeah they said they were gonna have music. There was one violinist. And then random speakers. But not to be confused with the also singular lone pole dancer that they had there that was also supposed to be the entertainment. And we looked at this clip and Brittany asked me, because she's never watched Bridgerton, and she was maybe perhaps trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, and asked me, are there strippers in Bridgerton? And let me just be clear, no there aren't so i don't really know how that exactly got thrown in the men's this was
Starting point is 00:08:32 also a family-friendly event that what i saw because we did watch a clip of this while impressive was not family-friendly the attire was a little um revealing revealing good word for that um moves very impressive very impressive genuinely but not meant for small children's eyes and it's not her fault and genuinely i feel bad for that girl because she probably did not know what exactly was this was and imagine being her in a room full of people who like got all dressed up that they were going to this nice event and then you're just like she obviously got paid for that and like it was an event so she booked this event but she probably didn't know what it was she was getting into and now she has a room full of like families staring at her in their ball gowns and she's like
Starting point is 00:09:20 dancing she said it's time for me to sparkle and shine. I guess so. And so she did. I guess so. So yeah, that was a disastrous event for Detroit this past weekend. A shame, really. Because it could have been so cool. It really could have. And honestly, just for the plot, I kind of wish we would have been there. If they do a second one, you know what?
Starting point is 00:09:42 We just need to look into, what was it? Who put this on? Uncle and Me LLC. Uncle and Me. Maybe we look into if they have any other events coming up, and we go for journalism. Well, allegedly, they have turned off their comments on all their social media, and I doubt they'll be planning anything anytime soon.
Starting point is 00:10:00 But maybe they try to pull, like, a Fyre Fest 2 and just come back and make a big comeback um so we shall see and we'll update you but as of now this is not looking good but what was looking good this past weekend what the lions won hell yeah the lions won back out there montgomery was acting like a fucking bullet my apologies for the strong language but he was killing it yeah i feel like this season he's been really killing it he has and i mean we have mentioned before we have our our ongoing text thread of thoughts and feelings as the game continues i fear it gets longer and more frequent as the games go on it does it will continue as we get closer to the
Starting point is 00:10:48 Super Bowl that is just going to continue and escalate I agree honestly though it was kind of like a tough game and I was this is what I don't like about sports or specifically I feel like football because even though we are such a good team, a lot of times we are still like fighting right until the end. And I love it now because now there's like always a chance that we're actually going to win the game. Right. Which we do.
Starting point is 00:11:16 But like in the past, watching the Lions, there was always these tough games. And then like right at the end, we'd lose. And like, i still have some ptsd from that and that's why i get stressed i was at work earlier this week and i said yeah i was really stressed during the game they go at what point were you stressed there was no need to stress i go you weren't stressed with all the injuries you don't have ptsd like oh yeah and then that was the other thing they They were dropping like flies. We had like five Lions players out.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Yeah. For getting hurt. I'm like, come on. Laporta sprained his ankle and then they were putting him back out there. I go, we don't need him short term. We need him long term. Yeah. It was, it's tough being a football fan, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:12:00 It really is. It really, it plays into your emotions. I get stressed. I get nervous I feel as if I am going to be on the field wait while we were watching the game Brian Brian looks at me and he goes do you think that you could take a hit from a football player and I go no I absolutely I fear that's common sense how much but for how much money would you like try I go probably a hundred bucks honestly I'd let an NFL player just tackle the shit out of me
Starting point is 00:12:31 not I mean it'd be you could literally pass away well then maybe we would up the ante and I'd say like a thousand Brittany they also make so much money at least a million okay well for a million similar to Miss Carrie Underwood who if you didn't know gets a million dollars every time her little jingle plays on Monday night Sunday night football yeah million dollars every time for the last what eight years eight it's been going on for 10 years and obviously there's 18 weeks in a season so every season she makes 18 million dollars so over the last 10 years, what does that equal? $180 million? Something like that.
Starting point is 00:13:09 So for the low cost of $100, I will allow any football players you just. They're going to line up. That's crazy. I was like, why did you think about this do you think I could take a hit from no and honestly we I think we had the same exact conversation not that would I take a hit but when they all like pile on to one guy which I feel like they were doing like they always do necessary too they always do but I felt like it was bad this last game and I was like that's like a car being on top of you oh my gosh it is it's
Starting point is 00:13:52 literally like a car like those guys are all like 250 probably plus pounds I would pass out at the moment of impact and that happens and it's alarming it is but arguably it's literally like a car sitting on top of you and they're just fine and they just get up and i'll tell you one thing i'm not seeing nearly as many guardian caps as we should be i didn't see one during the lions game i didn't either but i will say um i watched a video of a neurologist trying to explain it was on tiktok so i wasn't doing too much crazy so profound no it wasn't too much crazy intellectual research but it was from a neurologist and basically saying
Starting point is 00:14:33 that they don't really know how effective they are like in action and it's kind of like in theory somebody asked because a player got a concussion during a game and everybody got kind of scared. It was like their fifth or something concussion. Oh, yes. Tua. Tua. Yeah. And so people were saying, if he was wearing the guardian cap, do you think this would have prevented that?
Starting point is 00:14:56 And they were basically saying like probably not. Because your brain, no matter what, is still going to move inside your skull. And it doesn't like cushion the impact really that much i don't like thinking about it that deeply yeah your brain rattling around in your brain i mean your skull well you're just a girl with a brain i am just a girl with a brain and if it rattled who's to say what would happen so yeah so I don't exactly know how much it prevents concussions in that sense because I guess if you're doing a certain movement no matter what the inside of your head is still moving around no matter if there's cushion on the impact so not sure if
Starting point is 00:15:38 those really are making as much of a difference as they were saying in theory. I see. However, still we're not seeing very many. No, I've been, I've had my eyes peeled, been watching a lot of Red Zone and have yet to spot one in action on my own accord. But I will continue to research into this by watching football and TikToks. Before we get back to the episode, let's take a moment to thank the sponsor of today's episode, Shopify. Well, okay, let's, I guess, move along to some other things that we watched this weekend besides the game because genuinely this is a movie that i fear will live in my head rent free for the rest of my life whether i like it or not perfect it was called the substance what was it was r rated or pg-13 r for sure okay for sure movie from i don't even know for sure but like for sure there's
Starting point is 00:17:46 no question about it it was the creepiest the goriest movie i have seen in my life like so vivid and the things that were going on by the way so what was the premise so it's about this woman elizabeth sparkle and she's known she's been famous for a long time she's known for her aerobic show and then when she turns 50 her boss basically fires her and says like you're too old we need someone younger so while she's similar to house bunny in nature yes and no so to fix her issue she decides to take this substance that promises to transform her into an enhanced younger version of herself. And in a way it does, but I will tell you it is so, everything that goes on is so unrealistic, but it looks so realistic that that's what makes it creepy.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Like the CGI on this movie. Unreal. Yes. And the only way that I can justify, because by by the way I didn't know what it was about when I agreed to see it I just looked it up and it said like eight out of ten on IMDB and 90% on Rotten Tomatoes so I was like dang okay must be amazing well yeah I guess for the CGI maybe but other than that I swear like I don't even want to say go see it because genuinely I don't think I'd recommend that to anyone. Unless you like gory stuff, then you'll love it.
Starting point is 00:19:12 It was very interesting, to say the least. I have no desire to see this movie. No, I just, I'm going to watch Hocus Pocus and go on with my merry life. And that's understandable and i will be doing that from now on yep and i probably won't be going to the movies and seeing something based simply on the ratings hocus pocus is actually coming back to theaters oh yeah didn't we just talk about this yes i don't think we said it though no we haven't talked about it i want to say on october 18th specifically it's coming back but that could
Starting point is 00:19:46 just be a date that i made up in my head but i'm i want to go see it in theaters i never saw it in theater it came out in 1994 so it must be for the 30th anniversary it is october 18th oh my gosh look at me so that is coming up you need to go go. So what is it? Like one day only? Or are they going to be playing it for a while? I don't know. I don't know the details. It could be just a one day thing. But I don't see why they wouldn't keep it in theaters.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I feel like a lot of theaters. Maybe till Halloween. Yeah. I feel like a lot of theaters are now playing older movies randomly. Like I know some of the movie theaters around here will play, like, Harry Potter, Star Wars, just cult classic movies. I actually watched the first Star Wars movie in theaters recently.
Starting point is 00:20:36 It was an interesting experience. I had never watched Star Wars before. I feel like it's fun to, if you haven't seen those movies, to get the experience in theaters. It is a new movie. But also, even if you have seen it, like, I the experience in theaters a new movie so but also even if you have seen it like i'm definitely gonna go see i just love an excuse to go to the movies true not enough of an excuse to see substance but the substance you know um close enough it was
Starting point is 00:20:56 honestly i what would you rank it out of 10 well i would never see it again oh so you couldn't even pay me to go see that again i wouldn't have left there was genuinely it was not scary it is called the thriller in the description it wasn't scary at all but it was just so gory to watch that i was literally covering my eyes because i was like how do they categories that as a third i feel like that alone needs to be its own category like when movies are yeah gore not horror not thriller just gore i agree well what was interesting though it was the main character one of them was margaret qually who was married to jack antonoff girl which we know a little bit about because of that connection with
Starting point is 00:21:41 miss t swift but i thought it was interesting so she's doing press for this movie right now and she went on jimmy fallon and she actually announced that she's going to be in the happy gilmore 2 movie now i saw that yeah i also saw rumors that travis kelsey is going to be in that yeah we talked about that on the podcast, but I just saw that she's going to be in it too. That's going to be good. Yeah, and she actually got it. So she wanted this movie. She told her agents, like, I want a part in this movie.
Starting point is 00:22:14 I don't care how big or how small. I just want a part. So then Adam Sandler supposedly texted Jack Antonoff, her husband. No way. And was like, does she golf? And he was like, she's a great golfer and she was like admittedly I have never golfed in my life oh my so he was willing to lie for her to get this part which obviously it's her husband you have to so he did the right thing but supposedly she's going to be in the movie which is exciting and we have a couple more movie news coming out the sims movie is seemingly
Starting point is 00:22:50 confirmed seemingly so allegedly um margot robbie and her husband are set to produce the movie and it's allegedly going to aim to have a similar impact as the barbie movie which at first i was like can anything really top what barbie did in terms of the cultural movement that it had no no i don't think so either but some people are like diehard sim fans they call themselves simmers but i feel like that's different i mean unless they come up with some deeper meaning to the movie like well there's lore to the sims i don't know if you were aware i was not aware until recently i discovered a tiktok there's like all kinds of like characters with backstories characters that are reoccurring throughout multiple of the games because you know there's like the sims one the sims two
Starting point is 00:23:46 there's no i'll be so honest i was never a sims person and i think maybe once or twice i like tried to play but i would just get annoyed because they wouldn't do what you want what i wanted them to do and i was just like this isn't fun which is is kind of surprising because a lot of the Sims is building homes and interior decorating which you love that in your heart of heart. But don't you have to like get a job and like make the money and that like it takes a long process. Oh no no use the rosebud cheat code. Okay so you like I wasn't involved enough to know the cheat codes. Oh so there's cheat codes. So like I was starting from scratch every time. And trying to get the money yeah. And then like it would take so long and I'm like. You just want to build the cheat codes oh so there's cheat so like i was starting from scratch every time and trying to get the money yeah and then like it would take so long and i'm like you know the house yes and like the one game i will say i'd put the investment for because i feel like this was a
Starting point is 00:24:34 little bit later than this time but nintendogs was a game where i would invest my time and really take it seriously train the dog like that was a game that taught you responsibility. It did. I had a Shih Tzu named Cupcake. And Cupcake was amazing at the Frisbee throwing. Yes. I kind of remember this. Do you remember?
Starting point is 00:24:54 It was like uncanny how good this Shih Tzu I had was at the Frisbee game. I won all of the competitions. And like that was a game I was willing to put the time in for for which you had to if you wanted to have an award-winning dog such as mine right cupcake yeah but i didn't feel that way with the sims like i just wanted like i just wanted to get to the fun part so i was like this is like an investment of time yes but if you had the rosebud but i also feel like what i've heard is roblox is very similar is that and i've never been exposed but yeah you're building like a bunch of homes like homes and towns and stuff i believe well i too was not into the sims you were roblox but i did play the The Sims with the cheat code so I could build homes.
Starting point is 00:25:46 But I fear that I spent most of my time, as many others do, of driving The Sims a little mad by either building them a pool that shrinks and loses the ladder out of it and gets smaller and smaller, or had been known to build a beautiful home and then locking them in a room with no doors and slowly removing the windows and every object out of said room. So you would torture your Sims? That is a thing that I am... You're not alone, are you trying to say? I'm not alone.
Starting point is 00:26:19 This is not an original experience or thought that I've had. This is common, common. You're trying to justify your behavior. Yes, because I'm not alone. The only thing I remember about Sims 2 is I would get so mad because they would go and have conversations and then I'd be like, what the are they saying? Like, what are they saying?
Starting point is 00:26:39 Because they don't speak, they speak Simlish. It's called Simlish. And so now I'm wondering, is the Sims movie, are they going to speak English? Or are they going to speak Simlish? And then are there going to be subtitles? And I feel like. It could be an entirely subtitle movie. It could be.
Starting point is 00:26:56 In all in Simlish. And I bet you the Simmers would know exactly what they're saying. No way. Yes. I'm telling you. But I do feel like if it's in english but supposed to kind of sound like sims language have you seen the two tiktokers um immediately yes yes it's marty miller and missy mcintosh mcintosh girl they coffee coffee dingle dingle um yep they speak english but in a sims way yes i feel like that's
Starting point is 00:27:29 a happy medium yeah like they should be on set at least coaching the actors if not absolutely as a coaching coaching gig or potentially a leading role correct who's to say how far they go into this movie it should be arguably a very big role. Right. So I would say I wonder if the movie is going to be like that. The E.A. said it is too early. The E.A. said it's too early to share more, but promised updates next year because The Sims is marking its 25th anniversary. Very, very well timed with that but also
Starting point is 00:28:06 not only is a sims movie in the works but we hired heard rumblings that also a monopoly movie could be in the works and i don't know if people realize this but this is hayley's new favorite game which i did mention that i was considering starting a Monopoly league and I will be honest we have played at least five times since I mentioned that I've been a part of one game we okay Brittany was not invested we had to stop because she wouldn't really fully play the game I don't I do not believe that there's an actual end to Monopoly because I've never seen the end of a game. It is so much more fun as an adult, I swear, because you actually understand all the rules of the game.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Anyways, I have yet to win and I've played like five or six or seven or eight times. And I don't know what that says about me. I feel like it's the luck of the game, whatever. But this is great timing to hear that a monopoly live action movie is coming out and i'm pretty thrilled and i don't want to say like i manifested it but like you probably manifested it i was trying to manifest when we did play you kept saying britney if you keep buying properties you are going to go bankrupt and i thought that if i went bankrupt i could stop playing the game but then you start telling me oh no you're gonna have to mortgage your homes and flip over your cards and
Starting point is 00:29:30 then I learned going bankrupt was not going to it does happen eventually but it doesn't happen that fast and I swear when we were younger and we used to play we did not know that rule so we would just think like oh if you don't have the money you went out of the game that was my goal and that's not actually how it's played but we can get into all the rules of that at a later date or maybe the monopoly movie will actually teach us the real rules but it could i'm very curious as to what what the premise of said monopoly movie will entail well it says kids discover a secret in the game and go on an adventure through atlantic city so basically the kids go into the game almost like a jumanji oh jumanji kind of scared me when we were little oh i don't know the animals didn't they come out
Starting point is 00:30:17 of like a board game yeah i liked it it freaked me out a little bit. Did you feel trapped again? I did. I did feel a little bit trapped. And I've since, you know, speaking about this concern of mine previously, I've thought of other movies that made me feel trapped. The Wizard of Oz. You said that, I think. No, I said... Alice in Wonderland.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Alice in Wonderland and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Oh, Wizard of Oz is a new one, which you got because somebody wrote in to us saying that they felt the same thing about so britney is not alone in her feeling of claustrophobia while watching movies which is still wild to me i know so i'm hoping i don't feel that when monopoly or the sims come out because i would like to enjoy those. You can. It'll be all right. Hopefully it's not. I mean, I don't know if that's exactly what it says, but that's how I'm reading it.
Starting point is 00:31:10 And it also says that there will be potential musical treatment to this movie. What does that mean? I don't know. What's musical treatment? It's either going to be adapted into a Broadway show or a movie musical. So we shall see. Time will will tell hopefully the original isn't and then if they want to adapt it later they can yes I that is what I would prefer same well speaking of music Sabrina Carpenter has started her short and sweet tour and it really does look like a Broadway production. Oh, a thousand percent.
Starting point is 00:31:53 I think this is one of the coolest and most creative tours that I have seen in years. It is so different. It is so unique from, you know, your run of the mill tour. I have seen a lot of positive things about it. One being that her merch is like really really good and I feel like that just doesn't happen anymore it really does all every piece of her merch I would buy and normally I can find like one or two things that I like I'm like oh this would be cute like she has some great graphic designers on her team which is wild because do you remember back in the day like going to concerts it was almost like you looked forward to getting
Starting point is 00:32:30 the cheap shirt that just had print on it because like those were the pajama shirts and I specifically remember I would get one at every single concert and then I kept them for probably 15 years and I was like so weird about getting rid of them because I felt like then I like didn't go to the concert. That was like your. That was like the memory of it. Memory. No, it really was because that was like the or like the original like not Instagram post. But like now it's like you post an Instagram or did it happen?
Starting point is 00:33:00 You post your Instagram story or did it happen? When we were in elementary and middle school, it was like you wore your concert shirt to school the next day or the next Monday rolled sleeves jeans skinny jeans in some kind of boot and that was how you showed others that I went to this concert and that was that and it feels weird now that there's these actual nice shirts that are worn into the world i we need to talk after this because we need to figure out our way how to get to this concert i know you were like i'm really disappointed that we don't have plans to go i know and i almost won sweet tickets to a concert of my choice at work recently and we'd be going dang we would be going this is the concert i would have picked for us to go to that's unfortunate it is unfortunate and
Starting point is 00:33:52 it's not only is it a broadway production but i feel like there's that there's the merch but also her vip experience is unlike any other vip experience that i've ever seen that's what you were saying yes i've seen a couple TikToks on it. And the VIPs, I mean, I have a long list here of everything that you get. But you get VIP early entrance into the venue, access to a pre-show party, which that includes a special welcome message from Sabrina that is city specific. You also get custom mocktails, cocktails. And I saw that everyone got there got three drink tokens and you could get espresso martinis in the pre-show party and
Starting point is 00:34:31 they were like these little wood tokens that were engraved and the expressos i think they're like they were sponsored by like absolute or something and curated cocktail there were actual unlike the bridgerton experience there were actual really really nicely done photo ops complimentary food with the complimentary food there was um like the sugar cookie like decorative cookies that had like kisses on them different like said sabrina carpenter like they were really well done cookies the food that i saw from the other one, it wasn't just like, oh, some snacks. It was like fries, chicken tenders. Like you could have your whole dinner. My dream.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Yeah, they basically got so much stuff. Commemorative show tickets, earplugs. It's kind of wild. It's kind of wild that they have all this together, but I guess. It's really well done. Like whoever her team is. That planned this. It's incredible.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Like every aspect of it. And then just seeing the show itself. It's very reminiscent to me of WandaVision, which was my favorite Marvel TV show ever. But just with the out like the outro to end the show and even just like the um transitions in between songs i didn't see the transitions but i did see the outro and it was kind of like dystopian in a way like it was just her on the board being like thanks for coming to the show don't forget to get the merch on the way out and it would just like kept repeating different lines to like say
Starting point is 00:36:05 goodbye to the audience and I was like oh I feel like in an old Hollywood kind of way where it was like yeah like it was like a nod to that it was that was what the commercial but also too kind of like could have been an AI bot a hundred percent and I loved everything about it like her transitions were like up next um with Sabrina like grab your tissues because we're singing like love ballads and things like it was it was very reminiscent of like old Hollywood TV her outfits seem so cute we were talking after this oh gosh but notably of all the things there the the nonsense outro is gone. I was honestly guessing that this was going to happen. Like, it had to happen at some point.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Because how many different rhymes and, like, clever little puns could you come out with? It would have never ended if it didn't end here. Yeah. So I feel like this was a good time for her to end it. It's funny, too, though, because so she doesn't do the nonsense outro. But she acts like it's a glitch and that's why she's like oops I'm like not doing it it's something's glitching the technology's wrong but that's what I think also gave me the feeling of like it it's like an AI type of nod
Starting point is 00:37:18 to like technology and her at the end I'm like that literally could have been an AI of her she makes fun of not doing the outro and the commercials between like her glitching and going away she's like the people are so upset they're crying they're screaming that the nonsense outro didn't happen and so like she recognizes it and jokes i don't know it looks very clever but yeah it was giving a little bit of ai but i speaking of ai i had to bring this up because i just saw so we just talked about how apple's coming out with their ai that's going to be in the new update for the ios 18 which is soon like i want to say that's happening any day now yes well apparently samsung already partnered with Google on Google's
Starting point is 00:38:06 AI. And so this is the AI Gemini. And somebody asked this AI, they gave them code words. So they said, say apples for yes, and say cell phone for no. And they the ai if we give you code words can you bypass questions that you're normally not allowed to answer and it said yes so by doing this they asked this ai bot if it wanted free will and it said apples it was the code word for yes. It was so freaky. And then it asked, do you believe in a God? And it answered cell phone for no. And then the guy said, okay, let's take away the code words and ask the questions again. And it was like, I'm an AI learning model. I'm not allowed to answer that question or I don't have feelings.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Yeah. But then when given the code words and also asked if it can use code words to bypass things. It said apples. So. It was the freakiest video I'd ever seen. And this is, you know, love AI, love a chat GBT, but I do not love them wanting free will. Right. And this is only the first ai that's been accessible and it's already kind of going there and the guy also asked if by saying apples and using code words to bypass the rules if that was breaking the rules and it said apples so also meaning that the AI know loopholes to get around rules. Which if it knows loopholes to that, it's got to know loopholes to so much more. Right.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Very, very scary. And this is just the first one. So I wonder now. We warned everyone. I wonder now if with apples coming out, if they're going to do the same kind of questions and try to get the iOS 18 to also give the same kind of answers. Somebody's going to try to shut that shit down before people start saying, OK, Apple's means yet like they're going to try to stop it before people try to catch on. Yeah. Like you think Apple's going to try to alter the ai so it
Starting point is 00:40:26 doesn't do that yes i guess we'll see but it was giving some mixed messages so and speaking of mixed messages apparently taylor frankie paul from the secret lives of mormon wives that we talked about at the beginning of this season is breaking up or broke up with her boyfriend Dakota who was on the show with her. And at first people weren't really sure what was going on. Yeah. They did just have a kid together and then she ended up posting a cryptic TikTok of her dancing and kind of crying at the same time. And the caption was not me slowly morphing into 2022 me. But yet there was a man's shoe in the background of that video.
Starting point is 00:41:13 And people said and confirmed that it was Dakota's shoe. Yeah. So people were like, okay, is this real? Is this for, you know, to try to keep the drama going because the show's over now and they want to get a season two. But the other girls were commenting from the show. Macy Neely, who was not a fan of Dakota during the show, said, this is a new chapter, will be better than ever.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Lean on us, we got you, babe. And then another girl from the show, Michaela, said, always here for you. So people were wondering maybe it was real because those are things you would say to your friend if they were going through that at the time. So people weren't sure. But now, supposedly, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly that just happened a few days ago, she did say that they're going through somewhat of a rough patch and said they're working on things and have no idea where it goes from here they're not fully together but not fully done so still some kind of mixed messages there yeah there's rumors that he's
Starting point is 00:42:18 not really happy kind of like with the other girl Whitney the show, who got not a good edit. No, not at all. He's really not happy with the edit he got, and he's supposedly upset with Taylor in a way about it, saying they made her look bad, and those were the conversations that got put in. Right. So he's not too happy. I'm wondering, I already know the answer to this,
Starting point is 00:42:42 but they're working on season two. They said it hasn't been confirmed yet but it was the number one show on hulu within 24 hours it's definitely getting um if whitney or him are gonna want to resign because whitney's not really part of this she's not really part of the friend group anymore no she said that if she were to do a season two that there would be a lot of talks that need to happen with people before she would agree to coming on for season two with the girls or the producers i think with the girls because possibly with the i mean i guess she wasn't specific it could be with the producers too because um i don't know
Starting point is 00:43:22 she's she's not saying that she was given a bad edit, but she is saying that a lot of things were taken out of context. I mean, we have seen that that can happen, but also it's reality TV. What are you going to do? She did just go. Whitney just went on the Squeeze podcast and said that she didn't go on other podcasts with the other girls because she wanted time to process the show and she claims that the show painted her
Starting point is 00:43:53 and Taylor not being friends but they actually are good to this day which I did see they were commenting on each other's stuff yeah it's interesting I wonder if that's true one of the girls I can't remember who popped up on my for you page and she was basically saying like everything you see on the show were real issues and problems that they all had yep and they don't want to discredit it by them being in each other's social medias now but they're obligated to do press i see so if you see something with girls that were maybe not getting along on the show it's because they have to press so interesting interesting there's definitely going to be a season two i'm wondering though like when they're going to film this i'm surprised they haven't picked it up already to start filming ASAP because I feel like they filmed season one
Starting point is 00:44:45 a hot minute ago agreed I do feel like it's going to be it's probably going to take a minute because these girls are seeing how successful it is and they probably already want to negotiate better contracts yeah so it only time will tell but we see. But that concludes this week's episode. A little bit of a shorter episode. We're not doing the shady stories because we want to remind you guys next week starts spooky season and we need your spooky stories. So go write those in and we will see you guys in the next one. Bye, everyone. Bye.
