Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have a lot of drama. I feel like this week has just really been unhinged in pop culture. So there's a lot to unpack this week. Also, in the bonus content on Patreon, we're going to be unpacking Brittany's bridal shower and also talk about 2026 bridal trends that I don't want to say we're judging. Oh, like, maybe.
Starting point is 00:00:31 We're going to judge them because we're going to talk about. about them. Correct. If that's judging, fine. I guess we are. So be it. So yeah, let's start off with and a few of these topics I will say we did talk about last week, but like there's updates. So we're going to update you, starting with the mom talk situation of it all. Things kind of turned pretty serious after our last discussion that was pretty lighthearted. It was quite lighthearted and things took a very quick turnaround. This all went down. I want to say last Thursday, it was like in the matter of I feel like all of this was released. And of course it was right after we recorded the podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:09 As it always is. As the timing goes. But yeah, so Taylor Frankie Paul, we talked about last week how she was supposed to be the new Bachelorette and the season was actually supposed to come out this weekend. We were obviously going to be doing our homework watching that and recording on what went on every week for you guys. But that didn't happen because as we joked about it potentially like getting canceled, they're there being drama with it because we thought she was ruining the season by things coming out
Starting point is 00:01:40 with her ex, alleged phone calls, 150 phone calls between her and her ex. And at the time, that was like the only context we had. And we were like, oh, are they going to cancel her season because she's ruining the ending? But no, they're canceling the season because of the DV incident that she had in 2023 with said X that she was recently calling 150 times. allegedly. And yeah, everyone kind of knew about the 2023 incident. I feel like when it happened. Oh, absolutely. But the way that it was brushed off and kind of just like seemed after it happened, they still filmed Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Yep. There's a lot of interviews about the said situation and it being like,
Starting point is 00:02:28 basically, oh, it was made out to be way worse than it was. It wasn't that bad. Even like, even like, her doing interviews saying like, oh, no, it wasn't that serious. I was throwing a chair at the wall, like making a joke about like throwing a chair at the wall. But in reality, when the video came out and now people are like looking back at the police report, they're like, no, like her kid was there. People were actually touched by said stool being thrown. Like people were injured.
Starting point is 00:02:55 And it's like way worse than it was made out to be at the time. With that being said, Bachelorette literally did decide to cancel. the show and now she's suing the friend or allegedly is about to sue the franchise because she's saying well they knew this information when they signed me on for the project
Starting point is 00:03:16 so how can they just change their mind like we had a contract and some of the men that were allegedly on the season are suing too because they're saying well if you knew that this was a dangerous person then you just put us in the like you put us in danger. So they're suing for like endangerment. There's a lot going up. There's a lot of layers that I feel like it's all unraveling in real time because it's literally just about to come out.
Starting point is 00:03:45 People thought that, oh, I think leading up to this past Sunday, maybe, you know, people were having a hard time finding ABC's official statement, Hulu's official statement, Bachelorette's official statement, everyone was kind of rallying around. Maybe we would see it all dropped on Hulu at the same time. Or maybe, I don't know, people were just finding all these different ways and avenues to where this season might come to light a day. I saw. This is like a crazy conspiracy theory. And this is what I mean when I'm like, I really need to touch grass sometimes because I'm not even on the internet that much.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I'm touching poopy diapers, not grass. But I got this conspiracy theory on my TikTok, and I actually couldn't let it out of my brain. Yeah. And basically it was that this season never really was filmed of The Bachelorette. Wait, I've not heard that. They knew, like, the whole time that she was going to, like, mess it up or that this was going to come to light right before and they were going to cancel it. So the theory is that since they're all owned by the same bigger parent company. parent company that Hulu and Secret Life and Mormon Wives kept pushing and saying this season like,
Starting point is 00:05:04 oh, she's going to mess up her opportunity on the Bachelorette. Like it's such a life-changing opportunity. It's such a big opportunity. It kept pushing like that. It was like this really big opportunity for her. Yeah. And everybody was like, how is that the bigger opportunity? Because Mormon Lives does way better than Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:05:19 So like this is the opportunity, not that necessarily. But they kept like pushing that that was like this huge opportunity. And she was going to mess it up. And she was like, they kept just saying that. It kept being brought up. Like, don't mess up this big opportunity. And people were like, okay, so they were kind of planting the seat of like, this was a big opportunity and she was going to mess it up, maybe to like make the bachelor's look better and bigger than it really was the whole time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And also knowing that, okay, this was going to come out. This is all agreed upon because they obviously knew to everyone is like ABC does extensive background checks. They know all this information. So like they knew about this before. So if they had made some kind of agreement with her that like, okay, this is how it's all going to go down. We're going to cancel the season. Get a bunch of people talking about the Bachelorette again, even if it's for a negative reason. And then we'll basically settle with you if you sue us and make it look like you're suing us.
Starting point is 00:06:17 That's how she'll get paid from it. And basically that was how she would make the money from it. And same thing with the guys of like, okay, you're not actually going to make any money from being on this season because there is no season. Yeah. But if you sue us, we'll, like, settle with you. And that's how you'll make money. And you'll be, like, in the headlines and you'll still get, like, press from this just by that.
Starting point is 00:06:40 And then we'll do, like, a real season with somebody else and get people, like, back interested in the Bachelorette. And recast, like, some of the same guys. And recast people. Yeah. I mean, that would be the craziest marketing scheme ever. But I would not put it above anyone. because also with this video, when the video came out, I don't want to say this all happened last Thursday,
Starting point is 00:07:01 ABC canceled within like hours. Like that was a very quick decision from like, I know a lot was being speculated, but it does seem like in some way, shape or form. It was a little bit orchestrated that it was being canceled. Granted, there had been like tidbits of information coming out. Yeah. Over the course of like an entire week.
Starting point is 00:07:22 But it did seem like very. very quick decision if it's true that I heard each episode cost like two million dollars or something crazy to film it's like that's a big decision for a lot of money being lost unless you knew that it wasn't being lost yeah but I don't know now people are saying like her ex-husband's involved because he had never seen the video until this came out so like oh really he's getting back involved he like heard about the incident obviously but he it's his kid that was in the video with Right, her. And, like, he didn't know, like, this even really existed or, like, the extent of what happened because they co-parent together.
Starting point is 00:08:02 And he was also seen in court, like, filing some kind of paperwork with Dakota, the ex-boyfriend that's allegedly, like, in the video, called 150 times or something, whatever. So, and a restraining order was granted a temporary restraining order for Dakota. So I don't know. People are like, yeah, it is all like kind of sketchy and weird, like of the timing of everything and whatever is going on. But also at the same time, like, it does seem way more serious than just for PV or just for show because. Yeah. There's like actual court stuff going on behind the scenes. So, yeah, that's like a sad update to the whole situation where we were like literally joking about last week.
Starting point is 00:08:53 not realizing how actually messed up it is. And I'm still watching this most recent season of Secret Life and Mormon wives. So I'm like kind of waiting to see because people were saying too that on this season you can kind of tell that like there's been conversations in the past around them being kind of like explosive together. And yeah everyone knew I guess they think that like everyone on the show knew that this was going on and that there's been more incidents than just this one that. was on video and like yeah i don't know so i'm kind of like watching too to be like were there signs on the show that like other people kind of knew the vibe of what was going on could be so i guess we'll see but that's where we stand now today's episode is brought to you by skims let's be real before skims i was just throwing things on and hoping for the best like whatever was clean bras that poked me by noon
Starting point is 00:09:48 and just hoping my outfit would distract from it but skims completely changed that for me because i finally realized what you wear underneath is actually what makes you feel good in your clothes. My go-to is the fits everybody t-shirt bra. I swear it's the first bra I've worn postpartum that doesn't feel bulky or restrictive, but it still gives me shape where I'm like, okay, I feel put together today. And the lightweight thong, I'm not kidding, I forget I'm wearing it, no adjusting, no lines, nothing digging while I'm running around with Elliott or outdoing errands. And honestly, that's why I recommend skims to everyone. It solves all those annoying. little problems that you just get used to. Discomfort, weird fits, things stretching out,
Starting point is 00:10:29 and replaces them with pieces that you actually want to wear every day. Now, my entire top drawer is basically skims, and it just makes skidding dress to feel easier and way more comfortable. Shop my favorite bras and underwear at skims.com. After you place your order, be sure to let them know we sent you. Select podcast in the survey and choose our show in the drop down. Thank you to Skims for sponsoring today's episode. And speaking of things being canceled, Chapel Roan is literally being canceled. One of her shows is like, aren't they canceling the actual show because of this drama? No, she did the show, but the, she was, the mayor is not wanting her to come back and said,
Starting point is 00:11:10 you will never perform at a different show that they have. It's like a free, like music series. So if you're not up on this drama, we actually talked about Chaparone last week. We did. yelling with the paparazzi and kind of like that is she taking it too far of like there is a certain point where like you're famous and there's nothing you can really do like you're nothing you can do like you're in the situation and like being negative and like yelling at the people back is not going to just feed into the situation right like it's going to be in the headlines whereas
Starting point is 00:11:45 people might have not cared about it if you just moved by yeah and so this was another one of those situations I fear. She was at a hotel and apparently two other people, a mom and a daughter were there eating breakfast. They happened to be staying at the same hotel. They didn't know. They were there for her show, though. And she was at breakfast. The daughter just simply walked by the table and smiled that Chapel was sitting at. She didn't take a photo, didn't talk to her, didn't ask for anything. And supposedly after that incident, one of the security guards that was there for Chapel came over to the mom and daughter. that were eating breakfast and basically like yelled at the little girl for, I don't know, walking by. Yeah, it was really bad.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Apparently the security guard said that the little girl was harassing, being disrespectful towards the singer. And even, like, allegedly was threatening to file a complaint towards the little girl where the mom now, Catherine, has come out since and said, like, we were at a restaurant. there was a garden part to the restaurant. The door was open to the garden part that the little girl thought. Or no, I think it was even the mom was like, oh, I think that might have been Chapel Rhone. But like, you can never really tell, like it was like a quick walk by, how she was presenting the situation. So that I was like, oh, maybe I'll peek out in the garden and see because that's where
Starting point is 00:13:11 allegedly Chappell was out eating at. So she walked out to the garden and she was like, I'm not sure if it was her mom. like I just took a look like smiled at the table like it could have been and then everything happened with the security guard and to the mom's point Catherine she was like you know we are also people at this restaurant and she was saying she was like if we wanted to go out to the garden we were allowed to go out to the garden if we wanted to walk past any tables there you're allowed to this is a public restaurant right and I'm not trying to be mean but when you are somewhere like performing you have the option to not go eat breakfast with everyone else. You can eat it in your hotel room or, like, get a private room at the restaurant. I'm sure they would have allowed that. Like, there's other options if, like, you're going to get mad for people just simply looking at you. And again, like, I think we're in, like, a situation where I can see, like, both sides of it.
Starting point is 00:14:11 But I think that, again, there's, like, ways that you can navigate the life that you're in. Right. if you want to do it. So like, I don't know. I've seen so many things on TikTok of people being like, she just does not want to be famous. So like stop. Like, why doesn't she just like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:32 And I don't know if there's a world in which once you're at that level, you can bow out of it. But it's, again, like to the point of like, if you're going to eat breakfast and you're the performing artist and that's why a bunch of people are even at that hotel in the first place, you have to expect. that people are going to like recognize you at the very least right and that was this little girl this she had wanted to go see this performance it was in it was for la la plusa for her birthday now her
Starting point is 00:15:00 birthday she spent crying because this artist security came and just her literally harassed the little girl you know that's like weird about the situation is like it's a little kid so like yeah what were you really so worried about even if even if she would have been like oh can I yeah have a picture like did overstep in a way like how mad can you really be at 11 year old to like make them cry that's scary well and then the added layer to this whole situation is is this little girl her stepdad is a famous soccer player and her biological dad is Jude law so she's been around celebrities and famous people her entire life. So the mom, Catherine, had said, like, to the security, like, she, you know, my husband and her father,
Starting point is 00:15:58 two different people are, you know, pretty well known. Like, she's been around famous people before, like, she knows how to act. And the security guard was like, well, then she should know better than to act the way she did, like, which just adds to, like, another layer of. complexity to like this entire situation well and what's also I think to so that's why like the mayor of yeah de Janeiro ended up getting involved because he was like what's going on yeah defending because obviously it's his city and she's performing there and like those people are like welcoming you and he's like why are you like being mean to the people in the city but and she tried to come out chapel then and
Starting point is 00:16:44 apologize, but really she was just like, I didn't know that security guard. I didn't tell him to do that. He wasn't mine. I don't hate my fans. I don't hate children. But at this point, it's like she's almost like the boy who cried Rolf because like time and time again, people have seen firsthand, no, maybe not firsthand, but they've seen online all of these incidents of her lashing out at paparazzi or just like talking about
Starting point is 00:17:11 her boundaries. So this is not out of character and like it's just yeah it's like if the shoe fits and people are gonna believe it does at this point because so many things have happened Yeah and so I don't know I saw her apology video and like I don't know claiming that it's not your secure like and that's fine like maybe just for the area she was in they hired like local security to Maybe help um but I think we said this on last episode So didn't Lady Gaga say, like, one of the things she invests in is security because if you want to do stuff and you're at that level, like, that's just what you do. And you don't have to worry about, like, paparazzi or fans or this or that. It's like at this point, maybe take her advice because then you will have full control over, like, your boundaries. Correct.
Starting point is 00:18:04 So interesting situation to also follow up from last week. And now a new one that I have no idea what this is, and I see the word Disney. So I'm going to let Brittany take this one away. So recently, Raven Simone was on a podcast, and she was asked who the Disney Channel Mount Rushmore would be in her eyes. And this has sparked a lot of debate. I think I did see a clip of this. Okay, so like, let's be clear. So this would be like the main found.
Starting point is 00:18:39 founding fathers, if you will, of Disney. Well, that's where some of the debate is coming in, because Raven said, well, herself, Hillary Duff, Shia LeBove, and Lee Thompson, or Thompson Young would be her faces. Yes, her faces. And now other Disney Channel stars are starting to chime in, get involved in this conversation.
Starting point is 00:19:04 So Demi Levato was in an interview recently where she was asked about this, and she said she would agree with Raven that Raven and Hillary Duff would be on it. But when it came to Shia, she said, I'm good on that. But she suggested a different Mount Rushmore for her generation. She said, well, there's also, you know, a world where it's, you know, Demi, Miley, Selena, the Jonas Brothers. And I think what a lot of like the debate or the discourse online has come from the different generations,
Starting point is 00:19:32 like your early 2000, so like you're Raven, you're Hillary, or. The later area, you know, kind of the Disney Channel Renaissance, if you will, with Miley, Selena, Demi. Which one do you see? And it's like, are we talking more about, like, the foundation, like, what started Disney Channel or our biggest global icons? Because, like, from Disney now. Exactly. Because then, like, you could add in there Zendaya. She's a pretty big global icon from Disney Channel.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Olivia Rodriguez, Sabrina Carpenter, both come from Disney Channel. Would I put them on my Mount Rushmore of like core icons? No, I'd probably, I grew up in the era of Miley, Selena. Right. I feel like every era would have their own rush more. Rushmore. In a sense. But also like I feel like this is one of those things where people try to just like
Starting point is 00:20:26 start internet drama over or like not in a mean way because like obviously we have a podcast, but like so many people have podcasts now. Yeah. And like a lot of the stars from those areas. have their own podcast so it's like they bring back like this discourse around it and like sometimes it's fun but like to be like oh this would be it and i don't know like there is no drama there every single one would have their own mount rushmore it's going to be different for yeah like Disney is not one air like it's had so many different revivals
Starting point is 00:21:00 exactly what we would say versus what somebody older than us would say and even like I don't know. Now would people even have like a staple Mount Rushmore for Disney? Because I feel like there are no real like new core. Like the shows that we have like Hannah Montana Sweet Life. Yeah. All those things. Like do those exist anymore? They do.
Starting point is 00:21:24 But they're definitely not as impactful. I feel like they don't. They're not as like pop culture relevant as like a Hannah Montana Sweet Life back in the day. That makes sense. because at the time, like, we didn't have many options. We had cable TV, and it was you either watch Disney or you watch Nick, or you watch both sometimes. Like, I was watched Disney.
Starting point is 00:21:44 And then when it was like super late, Nick and I. Like, right. That was our thing. But now there's so many options. It's like, would people even consider Disney Rushmore? Or would it just be like, what would it even be to the younger generation now? I mean, they do still have shows that like have produced, you know, Sabrina Carpenter came from Disney, Olivia Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:22:05 They kind of could be producing new stars as we're like they still have like their Disney Channel movies and things like that. And I feel like there is a pipeline. But I feel like it's just so culturally significant like the difference in like the early 2000s to now. It's just not the same. Well, like I said, we literally had no options. It was cable to be.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Like you. Now you have Netflix, Hulu, Prime. It is kind of crazy to think of. TikTok I feel like has exploded in a way like we had YouTube back in the day but that was still so new that you I feel like I mean there was only like a few creators on there right and like there was videos that would go viral but it was like one video like every couple of months now there's something viral every day on every hour yeah literally like there's a different trending sound topic so I just think Disney Channel is it's not in its golden age like it yeah Yeah. It once was. Yeah. I kind of see that. Today's episode is brought to you by Cozy Earth. I'm not joking. When I put our new sheets from Cozy Earth on the bed, I didn't say anything to my husband.
Starting point is 00:23:17 And that night, he literally got in and was like, wait, what are these? Because he noticed how soft they were immediately. And if you're in the season of life like me, waking up at night, dealing with a baby, constantly tired, you know how much a good night sleep matters. I read that sleeping in a cooler environment actually helps your body fall asleep fast. and improve sleep quality overall, which makes so much sense because overheating at night is the worst. These sheets are made from bamboo, so they naturally regulate temperature and keep you cool. I've noticed I'm not waking up as much, and when I do, I fall back asleep way faster because I'm actually comfortable. And the quality is unreal, like this is one of those things you didn't realize you needed until you have it.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Plus, they offer a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty so you can really try them risk-free. Thank you to Cozy Earth for sponsoring today's episode. But also, speaking of Disney, the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana is.
Starting point is 00:24:34 It's upon us. It's upon us. I'm not going to lie. I've not seen it. It's not out yet. Okay. It comes out. I have nothing to add.
Starting point is 00:24:44 When this episode comes out, it will now be live. But there's been a lot of anticipation leading up to it. Have we figured out exactly what it actually is? Yes. We have more insight into what's going on. So it's a retrospective. It's an interview and it's a performance. So there's three components.
Starting point is 00:25:04 to it, which I know people were a little not happy with the initial announce of Alex Cooper from Caller Daddy being introduced as the interview because everyone's like, we don't want to interview, we want a performance. So now some lights been shed on it. It's going to be three, like three parts to it. Yeah. And there's going to be cameos from Billy Ray Cyrus, Trish Cyrus, and allegedly Selena Gomez may be on it.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I've only seen that once. which is pretty exciting, but there's going to be like behind the scenes, stories, reflection on her Disney era. And it seems like she's going to do like a Hannah concert. I've seen some Disney influencers. I think that the concert was filmed a while ago
Starting point is 00:25:49 and I think they had a live audience, which is pretty cool. Cute. But yeah, there's been a lot leading up to it. There, Megan Maroney, covered amongst other artists, Best of Both Worlds. So we're really gearing that up.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Starbucks is doing a Hannah's secret pop star refresher. I know there's a bunch of like different like launches of like Stony Culver Lane is doing like patches and like a whole Hannah Montana line. So a lot coming out this week. Sometimes I don't like when things have this big of a rollout. Too big of a rollout. It's like stressful. There's like little words project is doing bracelets. It's it's.
Starting point is 00:26:30 They're doing the most. That does sometimes stress me out. I'm not going to lie, but I mean, I'm excited. I'll probably watch some of it. Actually, on YouTube today, during my lunch scroll, I saw she did an interview with, I want to say it was like Vanity Fair. Did she? Going through like old lyrics and guessing the songs, and it was like Hannah Montana songs. So that was cute.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Those things, I'm like, okay. But again, like a lot of sometimes, like, the rollout, there's so much going on before. I feel like I'm getting all of my answers. So like what's going on? Especially if there's like an interview portion. It's like what are you, I guess what's going to be new information? That's what I'm very, I feel like, I feel like she's done a lot reflecting on Disney Channel just over the years. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:27:21 From the time she was a year out from Disney to now we're like 20 years out from her time there. or at least the beginning of her time there. So I'm not entirely sure what new information this is going to bring, but I feel like it's more so a celebration of nostalgia. Which is like why the performance is cool. I think that's why everyone's like that's what we want to see. Yeah. And I actually, I think we even said like a new like reboot episode.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Like people kind of wanted to see like a reunion of everybody together. And like kind of like closure of like where everyone is now. what's everyone doing. Yes. That would have been cool, but I'll still be watching. I feel like that would be like the one, because there's so many reboots right now. Like we don't even need a whole series, a movie, just like a one. It could even be a 30 minute episode because that's probably what Hannah was, was 30 minute episodes.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Which is crazy to think about now. Yeah. Because I'm like, it's real, those are really only like 20 minute episodes with commercials. And you know what's even crazier is like, There was only four seasons of Hannah Montana. Think about that. There was three core seasons, and then the movie came out, and then there was Hannah Montana forever.
Starting point is 00:28:36 And I'm pretty sure with Lizzie McGuire, that felt like it took up my entire life when I was a kid. I think, like, Sweet Life is Zach and Cody's very similar. Like, they had three seasons plus Sweet Life on deck. And Lizzie McGuire, I want to say it was two seasons. Let me see. That's wild to hear, but it also just really, I think, reiterates the point. me and Evan were just talking about this, that when you're a kid and, like, you have to wake up
Starting point is 00:29:00 every single day and you have to go to school for eight hours or whatever it is. And it feels so long. Every day is just dragging. And you're like, I don't want to do this again. Like, whatever. I mean, that's at least how I fell in high school. And, like, every day is so the same thing, so long. And it just takes forever. But, like, when you get older, it truly does just start flying by. And, like, I don't understand what changes in the brain to, like, make those eight hours in the days seem so different so different yeah but like it really does and this is one of those things like that felt like it took 10 years well that i will say this at least for sweetlythe zack and cody i feel like we forget now because like seasons of shows
Starting point is 00:29:44 are so short it's like 10 episodes 13 episodes sweet live of zack and cody was a grand total of three seasons which is crazy um but there was 26 episodes in season one 39 episodes in season two and 22 episodes in season three. So they ran over the course of like, I mean, that's like half a year of episodes. You know what I mean? Like 39, that's a lot. There's 52 weeks in a year. Yeah, it's basically like a full year.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Yeah. So longer seasons, I guess. But still, it does feel like it took way longer than that of our lives. Totally. Yeah, Wizards of Waverly Place was. I was going to say Wizards, too. I feel like that took forever. There was three seasons?
Starting point is 00:30:30 No, I'm like, that's not a lot. Discourse between it being three or four, but like season one was 21 episodes, 30 episodes in season two, 28 episodes. I feel like that was just a thing also back then, though, because I feel like Friends did the same thing. Had so many episodes. Like so many episodes per season, but not that many seasons. And it's weird because it's like there were storyline. but like each episode was a storyline, but it wasn't for like Sweet Life and things like that one continuous storyline,
Starting point is 00:31:03 which I feel like you don't really get shows like that anymore. No, and well, it's kind of, I mean, there was sometimes. Like I remember when certain characters would come back or like there would be, I don't know, there was like an overall sometimes storyline, but it's like friends in the same way. Like every episode you could just turn on and watch. But then they don't make TV like that anymore. They are the best.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I feel like now all series are just like mini movies. You know what I mean? Yeah. The summer I turned pretty. It's like a mini movie each season because it's all following like one storyline. Yeah, it's all just a continuous. We got to bring back. I've seen people say this.
Starting point is 00:31:42 We need to bring back filler episodes or like holiday specials. You don't get that anymore. Well, we're, I'm kind of not really, but like we did start rewatching Gray's Anatomy from the beginning. from the beginning. Did you really? And that's kind of one of those two. Like every episode really could be like stand alone. And like they do like holiday specials.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Yeah. They'll have Christmas. They'll have Thanksgiving on the show. And like that does kind of give me those vibes. And that's how I used to watch it. Like I remember when I was younger and that was actually out at the time. Yeah. Sometimes I was like randomly watch an episode.
Starting point is 00:32:19 But I wasn't like super into it. And I didn't need to be. Yeah. Because you could just watch a random episode and you could have. understand what was happening. But there is like overarching storylines every season which it's like friends just doesn't exist anymore. No. But also apparently this is just a random thing going on but it's like it's kind of got us nervous airport lines. Have you seen the videos of these airport lines? They are out of control. I am like I'm all set. I don't want to go anywhere. No. I mean luckily I
Starting point is 00:32:55 I've seen a few videos of the Detroit airport just from like day to day and people are getting through TSA security and pre-check as, you know, you would normally expect a little bit of a line, but, you know, you're through that in like less than an hour. No, things are out of control. People are saying show up or no, the new travel advisory is like four hours early. But even that, like these lines are going out to parking lots, down. to like the baggage claim and it's gotten so bad that like the Atlanta airport had hired entertainment there was a violinist playing unwritten which would be my last straw if I had been waiting
Starting point is 00:33:38 I was going to say I actually think that would be it for me yeah um yeah thankfully I don't think ours is that bad but like knock on wood and also I'm not planning to go anywhere anytime soon but it's so stressful because when we have been in those situations oh my gosh gosh, because we have. And maybe it's more organized than, maybe now because they know what's going on, they have more organization. But like, even when we went to Cabo over. That was the most overwhelming.
Starting point is 00:34:07 In December. Airport experience. It wasn't even that. It didn't end up taking that long overall, but it was just so unorganized that everyone was like hurting together. And there was like no distinct line or structure or like where to go. Yeah. And that's what stresses me out about it.
Starting point is 00:34:28 So, like, I think if I was in the situation and it was more organized, I'd be like, okay, there's a clear end in sight. This is what I need to do. But in the situation where it's not organized and it's taking that long, I would just be, I actually don't think I would go. I think whatever the situation, I would just have to not go. No, at least the videos I've seen, things seem pretty organized because it's been going on for so long. Yeah, because I think now they're just like this. This is it. This is the life.
Starting point is 00:34:56 But I can't imagine. This is a dream. I'm not so sure about that last line, but it's crazy. It's definitely giving me anxiety seeing those videos, but I thankfully don't need to go anywhere anytime soon. And it's about to be summer and it's finally getting nice out. Thank goodness. Thank gosh. I say that as literally today it was snowing.
Starting point is 00:35:22 And then the sun came out. It's snow today? Yes. I had no. It snowed. And then the sun came out. And I literally had the audacity to be like, oh, was it nice when you got here? But like, truly, it could be. It could have went from going down to.
Starting point is 00:35:37 You did ask me that. You did ask me that. That's crazy. Yeah. I have not been outside today. Okay. Well, let's get into some of this week's shady stories. Last week, yeah, it was last week.
Starting point is 00:35:48 We asked parents to submit shady stories. and you guys did not disappoint to say the least. And a lot of these are just like cute, short, funny ones. They are. But we're going to include them anyways because I liked them. Starting with, I don't know if I should say that because this one was a little bit. Also stress me out for the future. Shady story, number one.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Yeah. My kid ate a screw, L.O.L. I was taking down and putting up new mini blinds and I noticed a screw. missing that fell. My then two-year-old was sitting right where it fell, and I didn't think she took it, but I brought her to urgent care just to be safe and do an x-ray. But yep, there was a screw there in her stomach. They sent us to the hospital where they just ended up telling us it will pass in 24 hours. However, if it didn't, they needed to operate to take it out. So guess what I had to do? I had to sift through every single poop and see if it came out. Next day I found it inside of a piece of corn in her pull-up.
Starting point is 00:36:51 You're welcome. This is what I mean, stress me out for the future, because I was like, I hope I'm never in the situation. But truly, like, I feel like before I became apparent, there were things that I was like,
Starting point is 00:37:04 okay, there's a short period of time where, like, you have to be very vigilant about, like, things falling on the ground. Everything goes in the mouth, you know, whatever. And I didn't realize that that very short period of time was not a very short period of time. And, like, you have to be worried about this for a long time. And so that is a fear that I have,
Starting point is 00:37:22 constantly. A screw feels like something that wouldn't just like naturally pass. Correct. And like could cause a lot of damage internally. And I think as a parent, I simply would not be like, okay, yeah, let's put this all anxiety on me. I have to find it in the poop. Like also, what if I just missed it? And then you guys operate and it's not really there. You know what I mean? That's so traumatizing. I hate that. It's very traumatizing, but very happy for you that you ended up finding it, but also not very happy for you that you had to. So scary. Look through poop for days. Shady story number two.
Starting point is 00:38:03 My six-year-old called me an idiot, so I knocked over his magnet tiles castle. Mom of the Year. That's the story. One sentence, but listen, I thought this was great because I think there is such a fine line when you become a parent of like, you want to be a parent of like, you want. to demonstrate being like calm, cool, and collected, not having too big emotions. Because like everybody says too, like, I've seen this online. It's like, would you yell at another adult for like doing something? No, you would simply like have a conversation with them. That's good perspective. And it's like, so why would you do that to a kid who's like definitely doesn't understand like the
Starting point is 00:38:41 full magnitude of things they do? A lot easier said than done though. So I feel like there's just like a fine line of like sometimes you just got to like give it right back to them yeah and it's harmless you know what i mean you knock down the magnetiles no one's hurt that's too bad don't call names lesson learned um i thought that one was funny shady story number three this story is about my mom not me but i find it really funny looking back on when i was around seven years old i lost one of my baby teeth and i was so excited for the tooth fairy to come. I went to bed that night with my tooth under my pillow and fell asleep. I woke up the next morning, super excited to see what the tooth fairy had brought me, so I checked under my pillow, but my tooth was still there. I went to my mom's room really upset with my tooth
Starting point is 00:39:30 in hand, and I told her that the tooth fairy didn't come. She told me to put the tooth back under my pillow and go downstairs and get breakfast because the tooth fairy is probably just running late. And we'll be here soon. I finished my breakfast and came back upstairs and my mom said in a not so subtle way, why don't you check under your pillow to see if the tooth fairy came so i looked and lo and behold the tooth was gone and there was a five dollar bill under my pillow i immediately knew that she put the money there but i didn't tell her i knew because i wasn't about to lose all the rest of the money to come you know fair but that's so that feels like something that many of parents have had to deal with right because also i think this is one of those situations like you could almost like blow it if
Starting point is 00:40:14 Yeah. Like, if your kid loses a tooth but doesn't tell you and, like, put it under their pillow and you're like, oh my gosh. Like, yeah. Well, I didn't know. Yeah. But I also was thinking about that. Like, I feel like it's kind of on brand for me and maybe not like as a parent, but just in general to be late. So it would be like, the tooth fair is running late, I guess.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Yeah. Go eat breakfast and maybe she'll come then. Yeah. That's golden. And hopefully I'm not in that situation. But if I ever do, I'm going to get, I'm going to use that excuse. Is a good one. is a really good one and that concludes the shady stories for this week's episode make sure if you
