Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have lots to catch up on as we were away last week. Well, I was away. Physically away, yes. Brittany stayed with the dogs. Yeah, I was physically away. I was physically here. And yeah, lots going on. First of all valentine's day it's valentine's day yay arguably my favorite holiday it's just that's not really showing this year i feel like it crept up on us we're literally doing a podcast on valentine's day that's crazy behavior it is crazy behavior but i mean um i feel like i never really make that big of a thing out of Valentine's Day. No. We'll get dinner. We'll do something. I actually just had a memory come up last year for Valentine's Day. We played Mario Kart. Oh, you did?
Starting point is 00:00:50 That was cute. I remember that. And so, I mean, we still have Mario Kart and we've played it since then. But like we went and got it because I wanted to play it. On Valentine's Day. Yes. It was a whole thing. I'm still in the market for um rock band oh yes that was discussed
Starting point is 00:01:10 then as well really just want it we we never found it last year and I still haven't found it but I'm I'm going to find it again yeah I'm set on it and I will find it and I will have it at some point oh um but today, we're just getting dinner. You're not doing your plans till later in the week. Right. On Saturday. I feel like we always pick the Saturday before or after, which I learned recently not celebrating on Valentine's Day is like Mistress's Day. Yes. But sometimes some of us just don't want to go out to eat in the middle of the week if that's how Valentine's Day lands. I heard that there's a whole day where supposedly people bring their mistresses and it's like a known thing. And a lot of people in the restaurant industry will actually say that these people who do this typically go to the same restaurant with multiple people.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Which is crazy. Like if they're going to take multiple people out, they'll pick the same restaurant to take them to. Like John Tucker must die in real life. Yes. I would think if they were taking people out, they'd take them to different places. So, I mean, like that's just weird behavior to go to the repetitively the same restaurant with different people within the same week span. It's like maybe they want to get caught.
Starting point is 00:02:30 It's the thrill of potentially getting caught. Because honestly, imagine being a waiter and noticing the same guy twice with two different girls, let's say. And then being like, oh, weren't you just here? What if the waiter says something? Like, I feel like if I was a waiter and I saw the same person, I'd be like, oh, good to see you again. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Like, just casually not knowing you're blowing up their whole plot. Or knowing that you're blowing up their whole plot. I did also see a TikTok today of a waiter preparing for work preparing to say to everyone like oh uh welcome back acting like they had already been there earlier in the day it was a little cafe or something i saw that as i was like i would be pissed if that like imagine that happening to you you and evan go to a cafe, and they say, welcome back, or who is this? Yeah. Just to mess with you.
Starting point is 00:03:29 I don't know. So, yeah, I guess Brian and I are celebrating on Mistress's Day, if you will. Uh-oh. I don't know what that represents, but honestly, yeah, I don't either. I feel like a lot of people probably just do that because Valentine's Day is during the week most of the time. Yeah, nine times out of ten. So a lot of people don't go out to eat. That's what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I'm like, do they just think this is Mistress's Day? But really people are going out because I mean some cases where they're going back to the same restaurant, multiple people okay but if you're just seeing two people out on a saturday before or after valentine's day how are you immediately saying that's that's a mistress that's a side piece i will say coming home from london it was friday so like technically the friday before valentine's day and multiple people coming off the plane had people waiting for them with signs or flowers. I saw a lot of flowers. Really?
Starting point is 00:04:32 That's kind of sweet. So people were coming in for Valentine's Day. But something in me was like, what is this? One of those is a mistress. What is this? Wait, so we need to recap London. We do. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:04:44 So I was in London for like eight days. Something like that. It was a very long time. And it was my first time in Europe, which I think we've said before. But so it was definitely a new experience for me. The time change is really what got me good. It put me down because the week before that, we went to San Francisco, which is three hours behind. And then we went to London and that's five hours forward.
Starting point is 00:05:16 So my time schedule, I think for probably the first two days, and honestly, I never really got over it. But for the first two days specifically, I was so thrown off. I wouldn't get up until the day was done and I couldn't explore. It was so bizarre because you were texting me and it was bizarre hours because I knew that y'all were five hours ahead of us here. So I would know like, OK, it's 2 p.m. or it's 2 a.m..m in London I was like what is she doing up at 2 a.m but I guess it made sense because I was out and about living my normal life that you would also and it would also throw me off because whenever we'd FaceTime I'm getting ready for bed well to
Starting point is 00:06:00 lay in bed for five hours and not sleep my day was beginning you were out with the sunshine and I was like oh my god this is throwing me off but it was a lot of fun we went Evan was working so he was meeting a client there for work um so we just went a couple days early well tried to explore a little bit as much as we could and then um he worked during the week so during the week I didn't really do that much a couple of times we like would go explore. But yeah, it was really cool. I will say we stayed in the Soho area first. And it was so interesting because that area is, I would say, more touristy.
Starting point is 00:06:37 There's a lot less like apartments and stuff. It's more like pub, restaurant, shopping, a lot of things like that. And right every time we would walk out of our hotel, I would notice there'd be lines outside of the pubs. And I genuinely just was like, why is there lines? There's so many places to go. How do they all have lines? And I couldn't figure it out because here we don't do that.
Starting point is 00:07:04 And so there we talked to the concierge we asked them we're like all these places they're just always so busy that there's lines all the time and he said no it's part of like their culture to go inside you get your drink and then you come stand outside with it no matter the weather because wasn't it a little gloomy when you were there it was gloomy but it wasn't too cold okay it was like high 40s low 50s but he said that that's very common there everybody will go inside and bring their drink outside but since it's city there's nowhere to stand outside and in order to be within the law, you have to stand within a certain premises of the building. That's so interesting. With your drink.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And it's here, if anyone wants to drink outside, there's a patio. Right, a dedicated area. Pretty, like, usually large patios. But there, since it's so, like, city, it's just one place after the other. Everyone just stands, like like right outside the bar drinking um so yeah I thought that was interesting I was confused every day up until like probably the third or fourth day what was going on wow it's just always busy here um but I really enjoyed it I really like that area I feel like if I went back that's where I would go um we were able to see too
Starting point is 00:08:23 there's a bunch of stuff right around there that you can see so I don't know I had a lot of fun um it is different though it was interesting because everyone's like yeah like the food's different everything's gonna be different and honestly when looking at a menu or any menu that we went there, like, oh, this seems very American. Like burgers, fries, sandwiches, just normal. What we would see on our menu here. Yeah. But every time you'd get something, it would be different. Like a Caesar salad really wasn't a Caesar salad here.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Yeah. Dressing would be different. Or like ranch. Ranch is nowhere to be found. No, I found places that had it, but it was never actually what we consider ranch. What you expected. Yes. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:09:10 When I went to Italy to study abroad, no ranch, which really sucked because all we ate was pizza the entire time. Pizza and pasta. All I wanted was ranch to dip in. And by the end of the trip, got not sick of the italian food because the italian food was quite good but we just wanted a change of pace i was really missing you know like a cheeseburger so we went to hard rock cafe and they had ranch and i was very happy about that but people that live in europe they'll like when they come to America, we'll buy the ranch packet so they can make Hidden Valley Ranch when they get home. That's probably not a bad idea.
Starting point is 00:09:52 Yeah. If you ever travel there to bring your own. Bring your own ranch. I did think it was interesting because I kept thinking about this a lot. I was like, is the UK bigger than Michigan? Like, I feel like it seemed everything was so walkable. I'm like, how is this bigger than Michigan? Like, I feel like it seemed, everything was so walkable. I'm like, how is this possible? Yeah, it's cool.
Starting point is 00:10:09 And it's so cool. It's just such a different experience. You can't walk anywhere here. No. Like, if we wanted to walk somewhere right now, we could walk to, I don't even know what. From my house, couldn't walk to anything. Yeah, I mean, at work, downtown, house couldn't walk to anything yeah i mean at work you can walk your subdivision but you can't walk a city no you can't really can't go
Starting point is 00:10:31 places you can't really interact with that many people but it makes sense because michigan is actually bigger than the uk that's wild and that's just one state so think about that like one state is bigger than the whole country right so and they obviously have way more people than Michigan it's like six times as many people there than in Michigan so you have to have everything closer together because you're fitting more people in the space that makes sense but I just love it. It's just a different piece of life. It is cool because they built their cities to be walkable. They built their cities for people, whereas here in America, we built our cities for cars.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Literally. So we're very reliant on cars. And sometimes I wish I could just walk wherever I wanted. Actually, we talked to one of the bartenders at the place we were at and they were saying that if you drive your car into the city every time you drive it in and for every day that you're in the city you get charged $20 automatically it's like through camera systems they'll send it to your house because it's a congestion tax or fee because they want the city to not be congested and then if you also have to
Starting point is 00:11:54 pay for parking and so a lot of people don't drive to the city that's why everyone takes the tube or the subway in because if you do, you're charged. And then the only way to not pay the tax is if you have an electric vehicle. Wow. Then they don't charge you. I thought that was interesting. That is. That's one way to get people to switch to electric, I guess.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Yeah, yeah. They're doing it. But can you imagine here, like every time you drove in, it's just $20. I'd be pissed. I wouldn't drive anywhere. I know. Well, that's why everyone has to take the tube. I mean, I wish we had a tube.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I don't believe we have a tube. No, we really don't. But it was a lot of fun. I definitely would go back. I just would, I don't know what I would do, but I would do more research on how to adjust to the time change because even when I came home I came home and we went to bed at 8 30 p.m which there because there that's very late so went to bed woke up very early woke up at 5 30 in the morning you had more energy that day I was thriving well first of all the sun was out and you know what that does to me and the sun was out and there it was nice temperature but always gloomy and I don't know if that's like a thing all the time
Starting point is 00:13:13 or just while we were there it was but it was gloomy every day so there was no sun and we were getting up late and the sun would set at like 4 p.m so I was just not living my best life as far as that. But now when I got home, I was like, oh, my God, I'm home. I'm ready to be home. The sun's out. I'm with the dog. Sun's out. And I was on a high until Sunday, the Super Bowl. So again, Saturday, I'm on a high. I'm like, let's have people over for the Super Bowl tomorrow. I don't know what's wrong with me. And I thought that was a good idea. So we invite people over. I knew right when you said, yeah, I think I'm going to have people over. I was like, you're going to come crashing down eventually because you were just going.
Starting point is 00:13:59 And then I did. So after, by the time the halftime show was over I was sleeping and we had eight people over I slept until everyone left and even as everyone left I don't remember this but our friend Tracy told me I like woke up and was like bye thanks for coming and then I went straight back to bed and it was wild so I'm not surprised I'm still not on the right schedule. We're getting there. But we're getting there, yeah. I feel like it's fine because hopefully soon it's going to be spring here. Hopefully the weather actually comes before today. And so that will really get me going.
Starting point is 00:14:40 That will help get out of this seasonal depression. I need it. Same. But the Super Bowl happened and the Chiefs beat the 49ers. Thank God. Because as y'all know, we were not particularly rooting for the 49ers. We were, at least I was, rooting for the Chiefs. You were wearing Lions gear. I wore a red sweatsuit in spirit of the Chiefs I will say though when I was running around getting things for my last
Starting point is 00:15:14 minute gathering I saw so many people wearing Lion stuff and I was so happy people just wanted the Lions to be in the Super Bowl everyone was saying as well the Lions would have won the Super Bowl if they were in that game who's to was saying as well the Lions would have won the Super Bowl if they were in that game. Who's to say really? I have faith they would have won but you know there's always 2025. Oh my gosh. I know. That's scary to think about.
Starting point is 00:15:36 That feels so far away. It is. It's about a year away. Today's episode is brought to you by Skims. Ladies, what's the first thing you do when you get home after a long day? Starting point is 00:16:59 and select just a little shady podcast in the drop-down menu that follows. Thank you to Skims for sponsoring today's episode. But a lot went on. So we had the halftime show, which was, I thought, so good. I thought it was one of the best halftime shows for the Super Bowl. I think it's always interesting because usually I feel like people are split 50-50 on it. I think everyone really loved Usher. And I don't think I saw anything really that negative. It was very entertaining.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I feel like it was a performance that anyone, you know, even if you weren't necessarily an Usher fan or knew a lot of his music, it was very hype because he activated the entirety of the field. He had Vegas performers, a live band, and then there was roller skaters on the stage. It was entertaining and hype. And I feel like sometimes the Super Bowl halftime shows,
Starting point is 00:17:53 they drag on. It's like, oh, we're still doing this. I feel like each of his sections were so quick and so captivating. And he continuously had guests coming out with him. Yes, he literally had Alicia Keys out with him yes he literally had alicia keys lil john ludacris will i am jermaine dupri her it was kind of funny though did you see people thought her was northwest i was one of those people they look so similar like obviously i knew
Starting point is 00:18:19 it wasn't northwest i was like oh my gosh i've never seen like the comparison between the two but now you can't unsee it and now i can't unsee it i agree i never thought about it and i did not think it was north but then when everyone was saying and i was like i could see why they would say that but when will i am am came out i thought it was kanye yeah i was like what's he doing there and then it was will i am.am I think the reason that I didn't think it might have been Kanye was because I think Brian said almost immediately oh my gosh that's Will.i.am I don't know why I was hype about Will.i.am but I know particularly secret Will.i.am secretly a stan of Will.i.am and would immediately let me know that he was on stage. So I didn't have a chance to, you know, confuse him with Kanye.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Dang. No, I definitely thought it was for a second. I did think this was, I thought this was going to cause more controversy. Usher taking his shirt off. Oh, really? I did because I feel like in past years, even when JLo did her performance and because there was the poll everyone freaked out and there was polls on stage too yeah and everyone had their comments about
Starting point is 00:19:31 that or just in the past I think there's always something that people are like that's inappropriate for national television or whatever people say but I thought for sure there was going to be some controversy around it but really I didn't see anything no i think people were too concerned with the taylor and travis controversy to get stuck on usher shirt what their controversy yeah i mean travis pushed dandy reed a little bit and i feel like everyone was a little caught on that and i was sleeping yeah i saw it and i wanted to unsee it i was like could this just have not happened i i've seen so many takes on it i did see them talk about it on their podcast though jason and travis were talking about right and basically like he was like yeah i took it too far
Starting point is 00:20:21 respectable super respectable yeah the passion and the moment or whatever but yeah that was definitely Andy Reid after the game he was being interviewed by somebody and he just said you know Travis keeps me young and I was like what your heart. Sometimes just Andy Reid scares me because he just seems like such an intense
Starting point is 00:20:40 coach and I said that to one of my friends who is a Chiefs fan and she was like oh and Dan Campbell is and I was like no I would run through a wall for a day different I for whatever reason every time I see Andy Reid I picture like the little Monopoly man stop it I don't know and I can't unsee it um oh but yeah also there was a streaker and this was a big deal because this specific streaker placed bets along with his friends so i looked into it too so what he did was he had other people he told them i'm gonna go streak go place these bets and like i would not believe my friend and so they all placed these bets and he did end up streaking so they placed $50,000 and to get back they were supposed to get back $374,000
Starting point is 00:21:35 but now what's happening is the betting apps heard that he placed this bet knowing he was going to do it himself and aren't going to give him the money. And so they're not giving anyone who's associated with him the money. So they're actually not getting the money. Oh my gosh. And he could have gotten away with it if he would have kept quiet. Kept quiet, shut his mouth, didn't have to make a big deal about the fact that he was out there streaking and monopolized the situation.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Monopolized. Monopoly man. I don't think monopolized is even the right word it's not but it's okay and so these betting apps are not allowing them to get their money oh my gosh that sucks and i'm pretty sure he went to jail too oh for sure in the tiktok he was saying he was like yeah i went to jail but doesn't matter i'm getting all my money back oh my gosh if he would have just should have waited till he had the money back yep oh that's a that's a tough day i'd be so mad i mean i don't think i would bet on a friend that said they were gonna streak um i wouldn't put it past some of our friends to try that a hundred percent but i don't think there are certain friends we have that if they said place a bet i'm gonna streak i'd be like you've got it you really yeah absolutely that's incredible
Starting point is 00:22:51 for sure oh my goodness what else would these commercials this year that was something too that we really wanted to watch and we're looking forward to watching and we're kind of disappointed we were really hyping it up we were saying you know people might be unhinged with their commercials they might take a note from tiktok or two but they really didn't you know what companies did they spent their entire marketing budget on getting celebrity cameos they always do and they should be putting their money towards better marketing talent that can give us good content what they should do is hire the social media people that they use to create the commercial they really should because i would say the best commercial by far was the duncan commercial with the dunk kings and i was oh you
Starting point is 00:23:41 were sleeping for that one i don't know oh it was was incredible. It was with A-Rod, J-Lo. Oh. Tom Brady made an appearance in it. Okay, I did see that one where they wanted to create their singing group or whatever. Yeah, their little posse. I did see that one. It was cute. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:23:59 They've continued the campaign on TikTok. It was the funniest thing I've seen. The only thing I really giggled at. Beyonce was in a Verizon commercial. That was cool. Oh, yeah. And she announced during the commercial that she has an album coming out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:16 And I thought that that was just a part of the bit, a part of the commercial. But she does have new music coming. Yeah. So the announcement was for Renaissance Act 2. And supposedly that album is going to have three different acts. Act 2 is a country album. Which I did not see coming, but everybody wants to go country these days.
Starting point is 00:24:38 I'm kind of excited for it, but I did listen. So she put out the two singles when the commercial happened it i just did not put a and b together that that was a serious thing because in the commercial beyonce did many things including say i didn't catch it so i didn't see the commercial i didn't see the commercial but who we were with everyone that was watching they caught it matt was like oh she's putting out songs and like went to go look right away and i was like so he it clicked for him it didn't click for me in my mind when she said that she was putting on music for me till after when i actually saw that that's what happened like i was like how'd you get that and i was just like oh maybe
Starting point is 00:25:21 he saw something i didn't and i didn't even realize he got it from the commercial like i thought maybe it was on his phone or something i didn't understand either because i've seen these things that were like oh yeah beyonce announced that she's releasing music during the super bowl i was like so that wasn't just a part of the commercial that was for real i mean smart and so i guess most people got it i just didn't yeah i didn't i didn't get a lot because you don't when you're sleeping. And I'll tell you what, if the lines weren't it, I wouldn't have been sleeping. You know, that was me last year for a lot of the Super Bowl. I had just gotten back from Miami.
Starting point is 00:25:55 I think that day of the Super Bowl. Oh, yeah. And I remember I was just sitting in a designated chair. I had a designated comfy chair at Brian's family's house. And I was like, being for majority of it. What a time. But she did put out the two songs
Starting point is 00:26:12 and it was Texas Hold'em, which I'm pretty sure is like topping the charts right now. Oh. And 16 Carriages. I haven't listened to either and I really should. I only listened to like a snippet, so I need to go back, but people really like the Texas Hold'em one.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Let's see. What other commercials? The Teemu commercials. Teemu's out here trying to bamboozle the world. What does that mean? You keep saying that. I do keep saying that because they paid for three Super Bowl spots. And they are going to have anyone that's not Gen Z young millennial
Starting point is 00:26:46 fooled into thinking that this app is genuinely the best thing to ever happen to shopping. I feel like they're trying to make themselves look like an Amazon and I don't think that's necessarily what they are. That's what I've gathered, but allegedly people say it's sketchy to put your credit card information on their site. It feels like sketchy site. It feels like they should not have had a commercial and been able to put their platform out like that. People were joking being like oh Timu paid for their spot using people's credit card information. know that you know that but the good people the older generations that are watching the super bowl do not know that and are going to fall victim
Starting point is 00:27:32 to shopping on timu and it just doesn't feel fair it genuinely doesn't feel fair put out a psa i'm trying them you know what I can. Also, performances during the Super Bowl. We forgot to talk about. You really loved Reba's national anthem. And you know what? I feel bad because I said verbally when Reba was announced, I said, I don't know if I can get behind that. I don't really like her show because she has that TV show and I don't know what about it.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Something is always just not sat with me well. I don't think I've ever really watched a full episode. I think it's just because it's randomly on the TV in our home that I'm just done with it. I'm irritated. But she looked phenomenal and she sounded even better. It was one of the best national anthems
Starting point is 00:28:22 that I've heard in a long while. I paused before I said national anthem because when we were, you know, talking about what we were going to talk about, I called the national anthem the, I didn't say the Star Stable Banner. I said the Pledge of Allegiance. And then I said. You said multiple things. The Star Stable Banner.
Starting point is 00:28:39 The Star Stable Banner. Yeah. I was like, fuck, it's a national anthem. Yeah. She caused a little, a little controversy here. Not, I guess, controversy, but it was. A debate. It's a debate that I think is ongoing, is real.
Starting point is 00:28:54 And so she was wearing a fur coat and boots. So she posted a picture and said, boots with the fur. And you know, that is something that is a revolutionary thought amongst all because- Maybe the boots didn't have the fur. Maybe. And this is the first time we're thinking. In my mind, when boots with the fur was first spoken in this world, I assumed it was-
Starting point is 00:29:22 Furry boots. Furry boots, possibly Uggggs that's what i thought and now we could have all been bamboozled and so we need flow rider to speak on what's true we need him to clarify did the boots have the fur or were there was there a fur see this is why grammar is important. Because that would help. Commas, punctuation. But even still, I don't think we would have got the clarity we needed. Boots with the fur. No.
Starting point is 00:29:53 What do you think? Boots with the fur. Do you think it was boots with fur or boots and then there was also a jacket? This is serious. I don't know. You don't know? We could have all been wrong. For years and years and years, I pictured Ugg boots when that song came out.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Same. Specifically. Do you think that Reba was just ahead of her time in knowing that Flo Rida might have meant boots and also a fur jacket? She could have been. Because was there anybody that was under the impression that that was correct all of these years except for reba that's what we need to know yeah no we weren't we need answers we were on the same page we were on the same page i think reba was not on
Starting point is 00:30:40 the same page but reba could be right it's true justice for Reba um going back to Usher's performance I've we forgot to bring this up there was a little controversy here too oh my gosh Usher he he was taking a liking towards um Alicia Keys well everybody got dramatic and we're saying oh her husband's to be mad or whatever. I mean, I personally, if I saw my man touching another woman. You? Me? I'm so chill. I would never be mad about anything. But in this situation, I would have been.
Starting point is 00:31:19 He grabbed her like he was in love. And apparently Usher also has a girlfriend that he may or may not have just proposed to they just got their marriage license oh gosh it's worth they're right before they went to the super bowl oh which i'm pretty sure you have to do within so many days or it expires and you like have to redo it right so they're planning on getting married real soon and he's out here hugging on alicia keys which like great alicia keys is phenomenal but you have a woman and she has a man and this just it didn't sit right with me it didn't feel like acting it felt it felt real well we always meant it we've always had this conversation with actors like what would
Starting point is 00:32:07 you do if your significant other was an actor and some actors actually choose not to take on roles that they have to not be physical with other people i'm sure not i'm sure but her husband defended it and said basically everyone's talking about the wrong thing we should be praising them for their performance and no negative vibes you know he's a better man than me and that's that yeah i uh it could have been bad it could have been like remember when um kiki palmer went to his show in vegas and then her man got mad and was like tweeting about it. Yeah. Could have been like that.
Starting point is 00:32:46 You know? And I wouldn't, I would not have said, you know, that's a crazy thing for him to do. I would have said, you know what? You would have been on his side. That makes sense to me. You're allowed to be upset, Swizz Beatz. But good for him. Good for him for taking the high road.
Starting point is 00:33:03 All right. After the game, what's this about you wrote this note oh yeah people were thinking taylor was blowing kisses to travis oh yes i've seen many many and we'll continue to see many tiktoks videos of travis and taylor during the game after the game but there was a few videos in particular where taylor it looked like taylor was blowing kisses and being super cute which she was towards travis who at the end of the super bowl you know how they have the little podium that um the mvp some of the players coaches will go up on and then they showed travis waving as if they were having an interaction together not the case so this is
Starting point is 00:33:44 just a warning to social media that everything you see is, or I guess a warning to people that everything you see on social media isn't real. Because then I saw a stitch of the first video, Taylor blowing the kisses, and someone saying, yeah, no, if you pan out and you saw the actual footage,
Starting point is 00:34:02 Brittany Mahomes was on stage with their daughter, her and Patrick's daughter, and Taylor was blowing kisses and waving to the actual footage, Brittany Mahomes was on stage with their daughter, her and Patrick's daughter, and Taylor was blowing kisses and waving to the daughter. So she was being like all cute with the little girl, but not like forged Travis. So it's always interesting the way. Yeah, the internet will make their little. The internet makes their little stories.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Stand videos that they. But what we all saw was Travis on that podium singing Viva Las Vegas. And that is another controversial. People were thinking that maybe she got the ick because a lot of people felt that. Did you feel the ick? I didn't. I wasn't watching. Oh, yeah, you were sleeping.
Starting point is 00:34:43 So I'll speak for um those of us that were awake during that I thought I personally would I sing Viva Las Vegas up there who's to say really maybe in the moment in the moment you never know he was coming off a high off a win and I don't think Taylor would get the ick from something like that. Taylor's one of those people who... I feel like she would do something like that. She would do something like that. She said a quote one time, something to the terms of you should never tear someone down
Starting point is 00:35:14 for being excited about something. Travis was excited about winning a Super Bowl in Vegas. He's being goofy. He's being fun. I don't know. He reminds me a lot of The Rock or something like that like people that are like we're traditionally athletes but then go on to do like like they don't take themselves too seriously like he did the movie the game plan where i feel like he didn't take himself that seriously at all and i feel like
Starting point is 00:35:41 that's a bit of who travis is like he's very I feel like he's involved with Nickelodeon and stuff I don't know why I that comparison is happening like I just feel like I see him at the Nickelodeon teen choice kid tourist awards like getting slim for the fun of it all definitely goofs around a lot yeah I feel like that was just part of that I think so too I don't think it's a reason to be like they are breaking up like taylor's not gonna break up with him over him having fun no i agree well people didn't like the way he handled his you know winning moment much like we didn't really go over the grammys and people did not like how taylor handled her when yeah actually you're so right yeah we're really judging her for upon her first grammy one of the
Starting point is 00:36:28 night she announced her new album the tortured poets department and i was surprised by that reaction i feel like she's done this before she has it was at the mtv music awards and what some people have said is you know mtv music awards that's more like a party it's more fun there's the audience is more so fans or the grammys more so peers so the audience reaction to the album dropping wasn't necessarily the most exciting people were kind of just like oh yay well i think that's tough too because the grammys is known for like snubbing a lot of people and people not getting stuff so i feel like the energy there is just like a lot of disappointment yeah and when you do have a moment to win people want to hear i'm so thankful i'm so grateful right because you
Starting point is 00:37:21 didn't get it and this person got it instead of you and so to not hear that I think that's why people had the reaction they're just that's the vibes there it's just different than a lot of other award shows and now if any of them are making new music they have that to compete with next year for a Grammy a lot of people said well yeah what did you
Starting point is 00:37:40 expect the artists to do they're all probably like oh great now I get to compete against this for next year's album of the year but i'm personally very excited about the new album i think it's going to be the sister yeah i think it's going to be the sister album to reputation that album was all about you know like bad bitch album or bad bitch anthems disguise or no love songs disguised as bad bitch anthems i always confuse the two i loved so i feel like i saw that theory on tiktok a lot of people think it's going to be the opposite yes sad songs but really are like a few songs yes a hundred percent it's going to be
Starting point is 00:38:20 like the complete opposite of what rep was that's my favorite album of taylor's so i do feel like it's gonna be weird though if she is still with travis when this comes out which i'm sure they will be because it's april 19th which is not that far away but imagine sitting there jamming out with your significant other to songs about their breakup i don't want someone else to do with it's gonna be weird vibes for sure any of brian's past so much so oh my gosh i will never get over this so there's a restaurant that we don't ever really even i've never been to it it closed down now but we've never gone to it really even me and you together no but recently brit like, oh, we're never going there. And I was like, okay, fine.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Like I never really wanted to. Right. I'm like, why? What happened? Brian took a girl on a date there one time. Like in the past, many years before Brian and I met. I was like, oh my God. Like thinking like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:21 I'm thinking like something serious happened. I'm like, oh my God, when? What? And she's like, oh yeah, years ago. They went on one date. I'm like, Brittany, come on. They never went there. And when it closed down, I remember you specifically texted me.
Starting point is 00:39:35 We're like, I'm so glad this place closed down. I think I texted you and I was, I said, today is the best day ever to be alive. Look at what just happened. This restaurant permanently closed. So you'll never have to go there. Thank goodness. The drama. What else happened this past week?
Starting point is 00:39:54 This was an interesting one because it was so funny. I was telling Evan, we were talking, and he saw some videos of the waste management, which is the golf outing that happens in Arizona every year. And he's always he said this multiple times to me, but he was like, oh, my God, I've always wanted to go. Like, we should really go. And then next thing you know, all this news comes out about how much of a disaster it was. A literal shit show this year.
Starting point is 00:40:21 And I say that purposefully as it was the waste management the more like the wasted management you know everybody even better drunk they basically had to shut it down so they had to stop selling alcohol because everyone got out of hand people were jumping out on the course while people were trying to golf and i guess there was like 500,000 people or something it was insane security stopped checking tickets and was just letting anyone in because and I think what the security said was the crowds were too massive and like the security couldn't even control the crowds getting in I can't imagine actually once they were in the venue it's literally like when festivals just fail because they don't have good security setup it always comes down to
Starting point is 00:41:06 the security setup and the security checkpoint yeah and so basically people were sneaking into vip areas stealing alcohol drinking all this alcohol and so the cops literally had to shut it down and stop the sale of alcohol imagine being these golfers who are like having their best let's let's say you're golfing there you're having your best golf weekend ever and no one's talking about it and no one's gonna look back and talk about it they're only gonna talk about how the spectators were behaving the golfers were pissed brian was talking about it because he was watching some of the waste management he said yeah people are chirping the golfers and you know what they're chirping them back
Starting point is 00:41:44 the golfers were apparently saying things back to the crowd, which they typically don't do. But also, waste management's a little different, I feel like, from a lot of golf tournaments where it has been known in the past to be a little bit more rowdy, a little bit more hype. But they just took it to a next level. It's so interesting, too, because whenever we've golfed and whenever I've watched anyone golf, like I told you, I went, I went to the rocket mortgage this year in Detroit and there's like an etiquette to golf where if someone's swinging, you're quiet, you don't make noise, you can't walk or like make movements. And obviously that's not the vibe there but imagine taking it to a whole
Starting point is 00:42:25 another level of jumping out on the thing yeah while people are golfing i mean that's just dangerous no imagine getting hit in the you'd be you it wouldn't end well no it really wouldn't so i don't think we'll be going to that for a while. People were saying that it needs to be figured out because it's just gotten more out of hand every year. And now it's like. It's gone too far. Yeah. That sucks. People ruin the fun.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Because that would have actually been a cool trip to go on. Yeah. I love Arizona. I feel like it would have been fun. All right. One last thing before we get into the shady stories. This was a big, exciting deal. This was really huge for me.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Breaking news. Taco Bell is announcing, or did announce. Let me retry my words here. Taco Bell announced new menu items coming in 2024. There was a lot. Some highlights, though. Brittany, take it away. She's really excited about this one.
Starting point is 00:43:30 The first item that will be, you know, gracing Taco Bell's nationwide this year is the Cheez-It Crunchwrap. And I feel very passionately about this item because the Cheez-It inside said Crunchwrap is going to be 16 times the size of a normal Cheez-It, which feels like what my dreams are made of. I can agree with that. And I'm pretty excited. They have a lot on this list. And I could not find the information of when all these things come out which was really unfortunate i wanted a clear date of when i'd be able to pull up the taco bell and try these items no because i was thinking bonus content oh absolutely trying all these things absolutely i thought this one was interesting i'm a big fan of taco bell's mountain dew specifically. Like, you know how everyone's like, oh, McDonald's cow gets the best or whatever. Yeah. No. Taco Bell Mountain Dew. It's different. It
Starting point is 00:44:29 does. And not the Baja Blast, but they're coming out with a Mountain Dew Baja Blast gelato. I did see that. And it kind of looked good. It did. That looked good. And I would also say the crispy chicken nuggets I was very excited when that announcement was made well when they came out the nacho fries I was also very excited pretty good because sometimes you know after a couple of drinks you want to order something good and sometimes that something good is taco bell Because a taco sounds good. But you know what sounds great all the time to me in particular? Chicken nuggets. And so sometimes. I'm with the best of both worlds.
Starting point is 00:45:12 The best of both worlds. Because this is truly what I want. Did we sing this last episode? We sang something. We did. We did. And I feel like it was Santa Montana related. As it should be.
Starting point is 00:45:23 So basically we're really excited. They came out with a lot of things. When it does come out, we're going to try it was Santa Montana related. As it should be. So basically, we're really excited. They came out with a lot of things. When it does come out, we're going to try it on the bonus content. Yeah, we'll be there. And we're looking forward to it. All right. Let's get into some shady stories. Shady story number one.
Starting point is 00:45:40 This was when I was in high school. My mom loves plants, and the hardware store had these beautiful plants and these huge wooden planters. Mother's Day was coming up. Me and my best friend and my sister snuck out of the house around midnight. We didn't realize how heavy these plants were. We all took a corner and tried to carry the first one to my friend's house. We saw a wheel bike in someone's yard and decided to take it. We put the plant on the big wheel bike and pushed this heavy plant to my friends. She lived in an apartment on the second floor. All of us had to grab a side and carry it up to her apartment. I'm surprised her mom didn't wake up because we had to walk through the living room and bring it outside to her balcony. Then my sister and I left to go get the other plant for my mom. My sister said let's go home
Starting point is 00:46:23 and get our wheelbarrow to bring the plant back let's go home and get our wheelbarrow to bring the plant back. We went home and got the wheelbarrow and we saw the cops making their rounds. We started walking through people's yards with the wheelbarrow hoping the cops wouldn't see us. We finally got the other plant and we had to cross a highway to get home. My sister was pushing the wheelbarrow with the plant. I have never seen her run so fast across that highway. We finally got it home. The next day we told my mom this was her Mother's Day gift. She started asking questions where we got it.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Why? I'm not sure what we said. I think she knew that we stole it from the hardware store. She kept the plant in the backyard for many years. I have some questions, but first, of course she kept it in the backyard because she was scared the cops were going to see that and say know that's what we were after those plants but how would they know it's that one i don't know take dna samples from the plant this is the missing plant that could be the case but i noticed something here i've never seen her run across that highway so fast i think how often is she running across that highway i hope never i think this was
Starting point is 00:47:26 just meaning i've never seen her run so fast i think so too across the highway i would hope you're not playing on that also yeah that's wild to run this plant across that's dedication that is more when i first was reading this i didn't realize they were saying they were going to steal these plants no like i thought the story was about how it was going to be really hard to transport these plants. Like in a car? Just in general. I didn't realize that the story was that we were stealing these plants and that's why it was hard. We were stealing the plants.
Starting point is 00:47:58 But it was for a good cause for your mom. You know, and what wouldn't we do for our mothers? So I guess if you're gonna steal some plants at least i went to a good cause exactly shady story number two so my so my parents got divorced when i was like five so my brother was like two my dad is a womanizer and would bring my brother and i around whatever new girl he was dating that week. After about two years, he met this girl named Lindsay and my brother and I really liked her. She was super sweet and his only girlfriend at the time who actually wanted to get to know us and really liked my brother and I.
Starting point is 00:48:36 While my dad isn't a very good person and of course Lindsay deserved way, way, way better and she broke up with him. My brother and I were mad at my dad for being an asshole to her so the next weekend when he picked us up of course he introduced us to a new girl. In protest we purposely didn't learn her last name and would call learn her name and would call her Lindsay so obviously the new girl and my dad would get mad at my brother and I. My brother and I did this for about a year, and then finally my dad stopped introducing us to his flavor of the week because we kept messing it up for him,
Starting point is 00:49:13 and the girls would think that he was cheating on them with some girl named Lindsay. This is so perfectly petty. I love it. I do too. Honestly, good for them. Good for them. Good for them because why did they need to be meeting all these new girls? This is kind of like
Starting point is 00:49:29 the people at a restaurant potentially messing things up for Valentine's Day for people. They did exactly like that. They did exactly that and it's perfect. You know? Good for them. I'm proud. Shout out to Lindsay. Yeah. Wish there were more Lindindseys in this world
Starting point is 00:49:46 all right shady story number three when i was around 16 i worked at the store as a cashier it was a basic job my best friend's mom often visited the store and always went to the cash register beside me where this tall handsome guy worked i always had a suspicion that something was going on between them but I ignored it because they were both married to different people and had a 10 year age gap. But one day at the end of my shift I went to the parking lot and saw them making out. I had an idea so I took out my phone and started recording. As soon as they stopped I hid behind my car. Once I got home I created a new Instagram profile and sent the
Starting point is 00:50:25 video to the husband and wife of the two individuals involved. They both became extremely mad and later, while I was with my best friend, she talked about it and asked me if I knew anything. I told her that I didn't know anything. Now I'm 23, I just found out that my best friend's mom and that guy are now engaged and I'm talking to the handsome guy a bit. You know, once a player, player, always a player, player. I can't believe how full circle the story has come. Yeah, they originally ran them out. Now they're kind of in the same boat as the original.
Starting point is 00:50:59 But you know what I was thinking? I got to be honest. Why would you not go to your best friend? Like, I feel like in no world, if I ever saw something like that, the first thing I'm going to do is not create a fake Instagram. You know, you're right. And go to them. I'm going to go to my best friend and be like, hey, what the hell? Look at what I got.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Something fishy is happening. Look at what I caught here. Yeah. Something fishy is happening. Look what I caught. Yeah. Yeah. We're on the same wavelength there.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Yeah. Yeah. I don't necessarily on the same wavelength there. Yeah. Yeah. I don't necessarily think the profile was necessary. I mean, it got the job done. Were there other ways of completing that job? Maybe. So maybe that's something we think about in this situation. But I will say this.
Starting point is 00:51:41 If you put that on your best friend, then like they would have to figure out if they were going to tell on their parents. Right. Could be too much. You took it out. Yeah. Problem solved. You know what? You did a favor for your friend.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Yeah. You said. No, no. You don't have to deal with it. Don't deal with this. I'll get the job done. So there you go. I guess the profile was necessary.
Starting point is 00:52:03 We've just totally 180'd like our opinion three times. You know, sometimes you got to think things through. Sometimes, yeah. We've just totally 180'd our opinion three times. You know, sometimes you got to think things through. Sometimes, yeah. That's just what happens. But all right, that concludes this week's episode. We will see you in the bonus content. We're going to do some Grammy looks, some Super Bowl looks, lots to catch up on there.
Starting point is 00:52:21 And also, this season is not going to have as many episodes as last season so we're nearing the end of season two here in the next few weeks so just keep that in mind and we will see you guys in the next episode bye everyone bye
