Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. We have lots to catch up on this week. It was quite the exciting week, mainly starting with I was expecting that we were going to be snowed in, potentially not able to participate in a podcast and we're here. I think it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be here. No, it wasn't. It really wasn't. It's been very cold.
Starting point is 00:00:29 That's the part that I'm not okay with. I don't like the cold. honestly I'd rather a lot of snow over how cold it's been I swear this has been the coldest winter since I want to say we were in college like I do not remember a winter with this amount of cold and even the snow I actually feel like we had this exact conversation last year because I vividly remember having to go and buy the dog's coats which they won't they will not wear so we're at the point where we have to physically go go out there, carry them to the spot, they want to go to the bathroom, set them down, let them go and then pick them up back inside because their paws get too cold.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Very good dog parents. I guess. I mean, I don't know what the other option is. They're not going to go to the restroom inside. So we really have no choice. But other than that, we also had a very exciting week because I think maybe this is one of the only other times I've ever lied to Brittany in my life. And the other being my engagement.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Yep, the other being the engagement. And it was interesting because it actually plays into the title of this episode about colleagues or friends. I got to see Brittany in real time in her work environment. She sure did. As dad performed at the Rocket All Company meeting in Detroit this past week. and I was given specific instructions not to tell Brittany that this was happening. It was a surprise. I followed through.
Starting point is 00:02:09 And quite frankly, I was never going to tell Bernie anyways because I thought it would be a lot more funny to show up at her all company meeting. And then her find out that I was there, which that is what happened. That's exactly what had happened. It was really alarming how much. Brittany was not picking up what I was putting down though once I was there and to be fair the hints were already being dropped by the people at the company who were on stage talking by the way this is something we need to go we need to go back a few beats because I have never witnessed anything corporate I will say but anything to this magnitude this is something that
Starting point is 00:02:54 I could have never thought my wildest dreams I would see at a corporate meeting truly in an arena on a stage with the lights, the sound effects, everything. And we're not talking about the performance. This is just people talking at a meeting. It's more than just people talking at a meeting. No, it truly. It was. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Very impressive to say the least. It was interesting. And then I started, once it got close to dad performing, I, they said, started putting like signs up saying like whatever the show's about to start this or that and they started dropping hints so I'm like this is a good time to like also text Brittany some hints that I'm here without saying that I'm here so I started repeating word for word things that were being said at the meeting and she was still not catching on and finally once he came out she facetimed me and saw that I was there. Immediately FaceTime. And here's the thing, from my perspective, I'll put yourself in my shoes
Starting point is 00:04:05 for a minute. I will say, this is an annual meeting we have. And every time it rolls around, people are speculating who's the performer going to be. And I will say, your dad is typically like number one speculation. People are, and then like, I'll tell you. And I'll be like, ha ha everyone thinks it's going to be your dad but it's not going to be so in my mind if it ever were to be your dad performing i was going to know and i would have like had like that inkling so in my in my wild streams i was like no it's not happening haley wouldn't lie to me she wouldn't keep the secret from me we don't keep secrets from each other so i don't know what i like i really just thought like wow, that's weird that she knows like, like, I said something about like the music, like,
Starting point is 00:04:58 oh, yeah, there's a DJ or something right now. And you're like, oh, big Sean. And I just started quoting like whatever song was on. And I was like, that's weird. But in my mind, I was like, there's no way. Like, I don't know. And I should have, I honestly, what should have told me from the beginning of the meeting at the beginning of the meeting, there was a commercial break. And And it was some of our leaders talking and they were referencing like Steve Ioki had performed at the beginning of the meeting. They were talking about things coming up, speculating about the performer. And then I kid you not, there was a live goat. And somebody goes, oh, is that the goat?
Starting point is 00:05:39 And a farm animal goat walked by. And in that moment, I should have said, well, duh, we know who it is. However, that clue right over my head until, you know, retroactively looking at it. I thought it would have been a lot more fun for all of us if it was a surprise. Also, to be fair, I didn't know about it until like right before it was happening. Right. So we were going, it wasn't like I was holding this. Like it would never had crossed my mind until I found out. And I was like, oh my gosh, I'm not going to tell you because you'll already be there. And then we'll just meet up, which yeah, we did. We did. I ended up when she FaceTime me, I was like, come to
Starting point is 00:06:23 sweet whatever and she just came my jacket and shrugged along but yeah it was it was very fun it was funny and also just interesting to see the corporate world that we often reference we do and this was your first time i like i i was so happy to see you there but i was like this is it was almost like seeing your teacher outside of the classroom because i was like so in work mode like i had volunteered at the event earlier, like was sitting with my whole team and then for you to be there and having like, it was kind of funny to like be able to like, be like, oh, you saw this part of the show. Like, well, it was funny because obviously, I mean, not obviously, but nobody who came with us was really ever been a part of like the corporate world. Even like our friend, well, I guess some,
Starting point is 00:07:11 some people. Some people were, but never to like that extent. So all of us showing up there were like, we are so out of place. And everybody. She was sitting there, like, so quiet, so focused, paying attention to the meeting. And then we all come in, like, thinking, oh, we're at an arena. It's like a show. And it's like dead silence meeting in work mode. And we're all like, oh, okay, time to be serious. Like, you don't want to cause a scene.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Well, you missed people being caked by Steve. I don't get the beginning. We did miss that. You probably would have enjoyed that. Yeah. It was fun. It was fun to surprise Brittany also. And it was a good surprise.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Just fun, but also speaking of other friends turn colleagues turn no longer friends because of work. We have some queer eye cast drama, which have you ever watched queer eye? I haven't. I really think I would love it. I have a hard time watching new shows. Yeah, we have talked about that. I'm not up to date with like the latest seasons. I used to watch it when it first came out.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And I honestly, I feel like it was during like peak COVID. times when it first came out. And I used to watch it all the time. And then after like a couple seasons, I don't know what happened. I just, I feel like whatever Netflix pushes to me is what I watch. And for whatever reason, it never popped up after like the first couple seasons. And then randomly I'd hear back like, oh yeah, a whole season just came like past and I'm like, excuse me, like, and again, I'm not going to go catch up on like the whole thing at once. So anyways, I don't even know, but they just finished their 10th season. And it's a new cast right now. One of the original, well, one of the original members, Bobby, is no longer on the show. And I remember hearing about when
Starting point is 00:08:59 he left that there was potentially some drama. That's why he left. Yes. He wasn't getting along with some of the cast. And we talked about that. I want to say on the podcast. Yeah. For ever, season one. Well, apparently, so it's four original members and one new member who took Bobby's place. And they're doing promo for this last season and one of the other original members, Karamo, didn't show up to some of the promo and it was apparently a surprise to a lot of the cast members, well, most of the cast members there. They were expecting him to come, not realizing that he wasn't going to show up. And he actually ended up doing a video for one of the morning shows that he didn't go to.
Starting point is 00:09:43 And basically was like, yeah, I'm not going for my mind. mental health and said something about not wanting to be bullied. And there is now, insiders are saying that while filming this 10th season, someone got caught on a hot mic talking badly about him. And he ended up hearing about it. And so that was why he didn't want to go. And then he also ended up unfollowing all the cast members. Besides, I think he still follows by.
Starting point is 00:10:16 the original cast member who also left so now people are like is there just like a toxic environment going on there could be which is a big deal because the show really pushes at least from what I remember when I watched it right it was all about like supporting each other promoting mental health and a lot of yeah and a lot of the main thing is help your the whole point is they help somebody with their life, feel better about their life, basically give them like a makeover in a way, and that's the whole point. And so it's like low key, though, they're not like actually practicing what they preach on the show in real life. I hope that's not true, but. Yeah. So some of them ended up commenting at the promo about it. And then people are just
Starting point is 00:11:08 assuming like whoever didn't say something and that's who like the drama was. with um but it is interesting to kind of see it all play out and it makes me in a way kind of want to watch the season to see like if you can kind of pick up on what's going on yeah i feel like that happens a lot on these kind of shows because it's not really a reality show in a way no because it's not necessarily about like their day their day-to-day lives yeah it's it has like a like a proper premise and a call to action, if you will. They're helping somebody. That is an interesting situation to like see it play out because I feel like in those
Starting point is 00:11:51 situations honestly more so then. And that's like sounds so counter like intuitive to say like you like in those situations honestly you can read into it and tell a little bit more when things are a little bit back. Yes. Like looking back on it compared to like reality TV where everyone's kind of like. In the moment. you're just reacting.
Starting point is 00:12:11 They don't really know. Exactly. Yeah. I think it's interesting. One of the things that kind of caught me off guard, because I remember when the guy Bobby left originally, it was speculated. And he kind of made a comment about how him and one of the other guys, Tan, got into, like, a brotherly fight. And people are thinking that Tan has something to do with this as well. And Bobby got replaced by somebody who was Tan's friend in real life.
Starting point is 00:12:47 So people are like, oh, did he get him fired and then replace him with that? Tan has commented saying like he is denies that. That's not true. But I just wonder, like, is it going to come out at some point? I feel like if Karamo's willing to like make a video being like, I'm not coming from my mental health. We will see more of this. We will see more of what actually happen.
Starting point is 00:13:12 But it seems like a good lesson about friendship overlapping with work. About not lying to people. Yeah. Today's episode is brought to you by skims. Before skims, I honestly didn't think much about my underwear. I'd pick something quick in the morning, throw on a bra that barely fit, and hope my outfit would somehow make up for it. But now, Skims has completely changed the game.
Starting point is 00:13:37 The right bra and panty actually set the tone for my day. If I feel good underneath, I feel confident in everything I put on top. It's wild how much a comfortable, supportive bra can do for your mood. My favorite has to be the skims-fits-everybody t-shirt bra. I swear it's like it was custom made for my post-baby body. It's supportive without feeling stiff, soft without losing shape, and the stretchy fabric just hugs everything in the right places. Throw in the lightweight cotton thong and I feel comfortable.
Starting point is 00:14:07 and ready to tackle a million things. Kids, work, errands, everything, without even thinking about it. Honestly, if a friend asked me what to buy for themselves, I would tell them skims first. It's the easiest way to feel comfortable and confident every day without the fuss. Shop my favorite bras and underwear at skims.com. After you place your order, be sure to let them know that we sent you. Select podcasts in the survey, and be sure to select our show in the drop-down menu that follows.
Starting point is 00:14:35 And if you're looking for the person, gift for your Valentine or for yourselves, the Skims Valentine shop is now open. Thank you to Skims for sponsoring today's episode. Well, this actually leads to another topic going on right now is the Blake lively and Taylor Swift texts have been revealed in this Justin Baldoni lawsuit, which I have so many thoughts about this. I would love to hear them because honestly, my main thought on this is you're really never safe texting your friends.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Like, it's actually crazy. A thought that crossed my mind, it was like, oh my gosh, at any point in time, my text could be pulled by the court and just revealed to the public, which like I, in my mind, I feel like I've not said anything like that wrong. Like, but still, even our text just regular things we say to each other. Exactly. Like when I'm annoyed, like, oh my gosh, like this happened. I'm so annoyed right now. Anything. I don't want people reading that.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Literally anything. It's just your most private thoughts being exposed for really no reason too because it's already been made clear that Taylor Swift's not getting called to the stand. She was subpoenaed originally, but the judge denied it. She's not really involved in this in any way other than to just. Yeah. Well, they're trying to prove the point that like, like Lively was going out of her way to bring all these other celebrities to. like tarnish his name and get get them involved but realistically since they have already made it clear like this isn't going to happen she's not going to be called to speak she's not going to have
Starting point is 00:16:16 to do it's just like really like why did we need to release these yeah but at the same time they were telling i mean they were telling in a sense i feel like if you look at it from one perspective which i feel like there's many perspectives well two perspectives you could really look at this is one okay your best friend is coming to you with like a situation they're in of course you're going to back up your best friend it's like the all the memes of tic-tok's you see where it's like my friend can be like do the most heinous thing but you know what i'm going to take their side i'm going to take their decide and i'm going to defend them to the ends of the earth and i fear that's maybe what these texts revealed that taylor swift is just
Starting point is 00:17:05 a really good friend. I feel like on her side, it's not revealing in this sense, but on the other side of like side. Like even so if you didn't read the messages, basically it was in the sense of Taylor just came out being like, yeah, I really wanted to be there for you and support you, but you're starting to talk to me like I'm just part of a corporation
Starting point is 00:17:25 and a group of people that you're trying to get on your side instead of like really talking me like a friend. I understand what you're going through, whatever. So on her side, I didn't think of anything bad. Right. But I kind of, it was like, what was Blake lively texting her that was like making her say that? Because to say that to your best friend would be hard to say. Like, yeah, I'm here for you.
Starting point is 00:17:49 But like, why the fuck are you talking to me? Like, it would be. It would be very hard to say that. But she was, I feel like I did see some of the Blake's text. And I like, I have not dug into these. I have not read over them with a fine tooth comb. I've just seen like TikToks here and there like blurbs of it here and there. And at one point, the way Blake was talking to Taylor was like, oh my gosh, you're the best friend anyone could ever ask for.
Starting point is 00:18:16 And it just felt like very like, I don't know, I guess I've just never experienced texting my best friend like that. Like, like to say to a friend. Why would you say that to your real friend? It's like how you don't take pictures with your real best friends. Correct. You're not going to ever say out loud. You're my best friend. And maybe when you're in kindergarten.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I was just thinking of myself, I go, have I ever texted Haley and been like, wow, you're the best friend that anyone could ever ask for? And like, I guess maybe we're not. Maybe in our birthday cards. Yeah, in our birthday cards and like in like big life moments. But maybe we're just not mushy people and maybe they are. But maybe. But I mean, Taylor's of calling it out, I feel like is kind of just being like, like, Yeah, why are you acting like this?
Starting point is 00:19:05 It's a weird situation, but overall, I just feel like, one, it gets weird because they're kind of trying to blend, like, work with their friendship. Yeah. Because bringing her into this situation was bringing her into her work. And it's like, what do you want me to? Yeah, she was involved. She was on the Erez tour. Yeah, it's kind of weird. But then also, just the fact that tax me.
Starting point is 00:19:32 message between best friends could end up public knowledge is like so alarming. Apparently, I looked it up because I was like, what is going on? So if you're not named in a lawsuit, which Taylor Swift is not named in this lawsuit, if the communication becomes relevant, the party that is named in a lawsuit has to submit the documents and like the evidence. And in this case, she was, like, Glyley had to submit anything that had to do with her talking about Justin Baldoni. Oh. So it didn't matter who it was to or they just all had to be submitted or else she would be in trouble with the court. I don't ever want to be a bystander in some of this court case where my tax with them are being summoned to public release.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Very alarming. I really don't foresee that happening in my future. but I just, the idea of it. No, the idea actually like sent me. Like I was like, oh my gosh, this is, this is alarming. But that leads more to the next topic of private details suddenly being blown up into the public for drama. Randomly an article came out, and I don't know if you saw this, but that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey are putting wedding planning on hold. I feel like this is a like very dramatized like somebody like heard like oh maybe they like
Starting point is 00:21:01 pushed the wedding back a month or two oh the wedding's on hold or the other hand has nobody thought that maybe this is a lie maybe this is just like my first thought was this is the media's way to try to get them to come out with any details about the wedding to like combat this narrative Like they'll see this and be like, no, we are wedding planning, whatever. And we're going to get married on this date like. I think this was maybe bait for them. That's kind of like how I felt when I read it. Also, they were saying like because of Travis Kelsey's trying to figure out his NFL career.
Starting point is 00:21:38 And yeah, like I'm sure that all plays into it. I mean, we've both recently planned weddings. And there's so many factors of little details that go into things. yeah, these people don't have that much time on their hands to, like, do all that. I'm sure it's going to take a longer process than even ours did, which I felt like ours, very quick. Yeah, like, it's just, these things take time. Like, I don't think they're going to rush and make these decisions. And also, even if they were, they're not going to tell the media about it.
Starting point is 00:22:12 No, nobody's going to know. Like, oh, truly. The only reason I actually did see this, though, was somebody was speculating, like, this is, her slowly dropping Easter eggs that they're going to end up calling it off? I really a thousand percent don't believe that. I am fully in the camp and it's not
Starting point is 00:22:30 just because I love Taylor and I really love her with Travis. I'm in the camp. They are getting married and I just truly in my bones believe that they will be together for all of time. I just, I don't know. That's just what I feel
Starting point is 00:22:46 in my soul and sometimes when I feel that way, I'm just simply right. Oh, okay, simply. No problem. Simply. Yeah. I guess we'll see what happens. But again, like I said, I also could see them somehow totally getting away with getting
Starting point is 00:23:02 married and no one ever knowing about it until after the fact. I, a thousand percent agree. I don't know why, and like maybe this is my comparison to it. Like, I don't know why people knew that Selena Gomez was getting married. I feel like that wedding weekend, everyone was like, it's the weekend. I'm like, how does everybody like know this? but on the contrary, I really think it'll be, it'll be like the engagement. Nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:23:25 People obviously speculated like, oh, maybe they're engaged, but people had been saying that for, you know, like, since they got together, like, maybe they're engaged. There's ways to not have it get out. If you don't want to get out, for example, we talked about with my wedding. Didn't get out. We literally purposely didn't even tell the guests where the venue was. And they, yes. And everybody got on a bus and went to this venue without knowing where they were going, which thankfully they all trusted us.
Starting point is 00:23:54 But it worked out that way. And honestly, it actually made it more fun, which we did talk about too, I think. The surprise. Yeah. I've seen that as honestly, I've seen that as a trend because my whole TikTok feed is weddings. I've heard every opinion and timeline that people have, which isn't overwhelming at all to hear everybody's opinions online. However, I will say some people are not putting on their save the dates or even their invites where their wedding is going to take place. And not until people are SVP, do they send out the information of like, here it is, here's what time it is.
Starting point is 00:24:37 And they keep it all under wraps. That's kind of cool just in general, I think. Yeah, it's like a surprise. And then like some people were in the comments saying, oh, and this also helps for. you know, your great aunt, Linda, or whoever it might be who RSVP'd know, but then decided they want to show up and like, they can't just show up. Nobody can just like not RSVP correctly and find their way there because the information is simply not available to them. That's interesting. I didn't think about it that way, but that is true. Well, speaking of weddings, one that we actually
Starting point is 00:25:12 never heard about was Aaron Rogers apparently got married in. secret and he's been walking around with this big ring on his finger that's very obvious but with no wedding information or detail so people are really trying to dig into this and i have heard the craziest theories that it's like an ai wife that he like married an ai and the person is not real because no one's seen her no one knows who she is um and people are really running with the theories i just think I thought this was interesting because we've kind of obviously we're a football podcast with all our football talk we have kind of talked about him but not too much like he did that random documentary on Netflix not that long ago and I just feel like if you're somebody who's like
Starting point is 00:25:59 signing up for a Netflix documentary how are you like randomly deciding like oh never mind within like a year yeah like never mind I'm so private you can't even know who my wife is and I'm just going to show up randomly married without anyone even knowing I'm dating somebody. Yeah, from what I've gathered, because of course this is a sports podcast where we sometimes talk about other pop culture moments, my general consensus on Mr. Aaron Rogers is,
Starting point is 00:26:31 I think he's just an odd dude. I think he just like, I think that like he kind of just like walks to the beat of his own drum and like makes decisions. On a whim. On a whim. Like, okay, now I'm private. Because he was, or his brother was on The Bachelorette, Mary Jojo.
Starting point is 00:26:52 And I feel like they alluded to what? I need to inform you that that was 10 years ago. Shut up. Which doesn't that make you feel weird? It does. They just had a baby. Did they? Really exciting.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Yeah. Oh, cute. I got to look them up. I haven't seen them since literally 2016. I feel like that was around the time when I, like, stopped being into the Bachelor Bachelor or Bachelor. Not really. I've had my moments since then.
Starting point is 00:27:15 I've like bopped in and out of the fandom, but she was great. That was a big one. I remember that one. And I remember also being like so much drama around like him not showing up for that. And like he wouldn't refuse to go on that show. But then again, like it randomly did a Netflix documentary. So I think people just can't figure out who he is. No, that's why I said like in the most respectful way possible.
Starting point is 00:27:40 I just think he might be an odd dude. and he just you kind of never really know what you're going to get out of him i mean i guess you could keep you on your toes for your you just had to throw that one just throw it out there yeah so people really are trying to figure out who this is i did see some girls on a podcast talking about how they think they found her but like they don't want to dox her so they're not going to say but they do think she's a real person they were trying to figure it out i guess because obviously with the football, you know, all the wags get together and hang out. And so people were, like, searching for her and photos.
Starting point is 00:28:18 A dream. I mean, not really. I love Brian with my whole heart. Wouldn't want to be with anyone else. But, like, in another lifetime. We can do wag events without being wags. Yes, and we need to get more into that. We need to capitalize on it.
Starting point is 00:28:31 I think so, too. Because, like, I want to dress like a wag. I mean, I'm using every opportunity for my bachelor's attack, like, a wag. I swear. I have. I'm scared. The wags, they have little, like, bag charms with their husband's faces on. I have a bag charm with Brian's face on it. I don't know if I've showed it to you yet.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I didn't know that until right now. And what does Brian think of that? He didn't understand it at first, but then when he was like, oh, my God, the football players, like, their wives get this. He goes to my face was, like, kind of by, like, the football players. I go, I suppose. I was like, I don't think it was ever, like, set out for other people to purchase. the way the football ones are.
Starting point is 00:29:13 But yeah, it's sick. I was like that, not to derail us. It was like a play on like, yeah, people do like that sticks with like the heads. Yeah. And so I was like, okay, what's like a fun twist? But also like my only moment to act like a wag. So I got it.
Starting point is 00:29:30 That's your moment. It's cute. I like it. It's cute. If I, I don't think I would ever do that. But if I ever did Evan, be like, why do you have that? Ryan just thinks it's cool because he feels like a football player, I think.
Starting point is 00:29:40 That's nice. Today's episode is brought to you by Hungry Root. Okay, real talk between juggling work, a kid, laundry, trying to remember what day it is. The last thing I want to do is spend an hour wandering through a grocery store and wondering if I'm actually buying healthy food. Enter Hungry Root. My new favorite life hack for not starving, but still feeling like a responsible adult. That's why I love Hungry Root. It's basically a personal nutrition coach and shopper in one, except way less judgmental.
Starting point is 00:30:11 than my brain at 8 a.m. You tell them what you like, what you don't, and your health goals, and they magically fill your box with groceries and meals that actually work for your life. And the best part, they learn what I love and what I throw in the corner like a toddler, so every week gets better. My box comes with easy meals, fresh proteins, veggies, sauces, and snacks that actually make me excited to eat. And there's nothing processed or junkie. Starting point is 00:31:20 Oh, that's funny. Well, people were literally saying it was AI and I just, I, that's a crazy rumor to make up about somebody because somebody made it up. Like, who made it up? I don't know. Somebody in the comments was like, it's AI. Probably somebody who was pissed off that AI is stealing everything, including the men. Because on that note.
Starting point is 00:31:41 AI on TikTok now is going to be a issue, apparently, because did you see that TikTok randomly updated their terms and conditions? Then you couldn't opt out. You had to accept. Oh, I read nothing. I said, okay, whatever. And I said, I'm going to continue on scrolling. They could have said TikTok is going to be leaving in the next week. I wouldn't have known.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Ignorance is bliss. Well, they, apparently with these new terms and conditions that you can't opt out of this part. Did you read them? No. But I immediately looked up like summarize the, I used AI to summarize what the thing was about. I didn't want it's taken from me again. Yeah. So you just said accept. I said whatever this means. I agree. Well, apparently with the new policy, they can take users videos and use it to like train their AI models. Great. To like make more content. No, we don't need AI pumping out content. Yep. Apparently that's going to be a thing.
Starting point is 00:32:43 We don't need that. We already have enough influencers. And I know what I love about TikTok in social media is anybody has the means to like make a career online about like something that they're truly passionate about. Yeah. I feel like that's why a lot of people are upset about it because it's basically what this clause was saying is that your videos voice and likeness can be used to train AI models with no option. out so basically they're giving TikTok a license to use their content pretty much like however it wants and then including to train AI and I think the other thing was that basically anything you upload on TikTok gives them a worldwide irrevocable license to use your content without like paying you for it and so a lot of people were like, okay, so we're not going to upload content then? Like, what are we going to do? And yeah,
Starting point is 00:33:46 in order to keep using the app, you have to agree. So it's not like you can opt out of stuff. There was a different one for data collection and ad targeting that you could turn off in your settings to where like they won't be able to target ads at you, like outside of the platform. I need to turn some stuff off because let me tell you one thing. I love TikTok, but it's been a lot of ads lately. Really? It's like every like three, like three. scrolls, ad, Google Chrome keeps trying to like advertise me. I'm like, I already use you. I don't, what do you want for me? Yeah, I don't know what it's really going to mean. This obviously all happened because when they had to sell to the U.S., this is, I think, just the implementation of like
Starting point is 00:34:31 what that means with it being in the U.S. I fear that this is probably already the case on like Instagram and people just don't even know. We just, like, didn't, like, physically get, like, a pop-up where we had to agree to it. Yeah. Because I feel like those terms and conditions probably update all the time. And we probably agreed to it in the first terms and conditions. I agree to any updates the terms and conditions. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:54 Every time you update an app, I'm sure. I really need to read them. But I, at least you did your homework. You knew what was happening. I don't know if it's really going to do anything for me, though. Because you still agree. I don't think it's going to prevent me from, like, uploading videos. I don't know if that's going to be the case.
Starting point is 00:35:08 but I do find it interesting and I feel like it's gonna make me more cautious about like what I upload or don't because I'm like I don't want this being used but also like what is AI going to do make a get ready with me I don't want to watch AIs get ready with me I want to watch you might not even realize
Starting point is 00:35:23 it's AI and that's the fearful part because I have fallen victim to many of videos I will say that was one of the things in there though that they did update was that anything with AI like has to be labeled AI They like tightened up the rules around AI generated content.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I appreciate that because there's so many animal videos where I'm like, wow, look at this penguin doing this like crazy thing. Yeah, maybe not that. It definitely hasn't been that extreme or a penguin, even though I love penguins. But I have gone to show people in real life videos and they've said Brittany. It's a very boomer of you. I feel like I've fallen for it too. Some of it's a little bit believable. No, that's what's scary about it.
Starting point is 00:36:17 That's why it's a problem. But even though TikTok can steal your content without paying you, for now, there are still some creators making out just fine. Did you see the woman who got paid? They're saying she got paid like $2 million. I'd like to be. For her Dr. Pepper jingle that she randomly made up. And by the way, this jingle is a little bit of,
Starting point is 00:36:36 about like all of two seconds. I haven't actually heard the jingle. I know of the situation, but at no point did the Dr. Pepper jingle cross my for you page. I literally think she says like four words. She's like Dr. Pepper Baby, good and nice or something. And that's it. And they used it for a commercial. People loved it.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Now they're saying that they should make it a Super Bowl commercial. and supposedly they licensed the song from her, used her actual voice in the commercial, and then they paid her for it. And people are saying $2 million, I don't know. So now my for you page is just a bunch of people making up random jingles. I have seen random jingles.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Mountain Dew. Yeah, just like throwing like any like... Anything. I wish I could come up with a jingle. We need like a Coke Zero jingle. A Coke Zero jingle would be. great. I love Coke Zero. A crisp, cold, bubbly, Coke Zero. Yay, Coke Zero. See, just clip that right there. There you go. That's, that's all we need. We'll ask for four million, two for each.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Yeah, very interesting. And maybe a lifetime supply of Coke Zero. That would be enough, quite frankly. I mean, but I don't know if, I don't think Coke Zero would want to keep up with the supply that we would need for our lifetime. No, we, I would, if I knew that I had infinite Coke zeros, I mean, I couldn't be stopped. I would not be stopped. That would, I would be drinking it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I'm not saying that I don't. Already. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:21 But if I had the many ones unlimited, crazy. I'd be unstoppable. Oh, man. We have problems. Anyways. Let's get into, keep writing in your shady stories, by the way. We have had some good ones this season, I feel like. Keep them coming.
Starting point is 00:38:42 I do. And Valentine's Day is coming up. So we love Valentine's Day, shady stories. Yep. So keep submitting those in. And let's get into shady story number one. I don't know if this is shady, but I'm going to tell it anyways. In 2012, my mom worked with a guy who ended up being in love with her and stalking her.
Starting point is 00:39:02 He would do anything for her, so my sisters and I would text him at two in the morning, asking him for McDonald's, and he would do it, because he was that obsessed with our mom and wanted to do anything to make her like him. There were many days where we'd wake up, and his yellow jeep would be outside of our house. He wasn't dangerous. He was just weird. There were also a lot of times where we'd be in the car in our town, and we'd see his car turning around to follow us, even though he lived 40 minutes away. One time, our mom let him come over to fix our heater, and when he fixed it, she hugged him out of excitement. He talked about the hug at work for weeks. She didn't work there for over a year at that point.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Oh, and he also was a pathological liar. On my sister's 11th birthday, my twin sister and I were 13, he told us his uncle worked at Madison Square Gardens, and he got us tickets to see one direction in the front row with backstage passes. I don't know why we believed him because he lied about everything, but One Direction was our favorite band, so I guess we just believed it because we wanted it to be true. He told us he could get us as many tickets as we want, and we told him we wanted seven for the three of us
Starting point is 00:40:12 and our three friends and our mom. The concert was two months after he told us, and every day until then, he would say he has to go to his uncle's house to get the tickets. The day of the concert finally came around, and he told my mom that he was lying the whole time. So our little hearts were broken because for two months we thought we were meeting our favorite band. We told everyone we knew that we were meeting them, and then we found out it was all just a lie.
Starting point is 00:40:38 A couple months before that, he gave us a laptop and an electric guitar, another thing he was doing to try to get us to like him, because we were so heartbroken over not meeting one direction, and our mom was so mad at him for lying to her kids. We took the laptop he gave us and threw it in the middle of the road and smashed it with a hammer, and cut the wires off of the electric guitar and sent him pictures of all of his stuff ruined. A couple months later, he bought us actual tickets to see one direction, so that was nice. For years after, he still asked my mom, and then he still stalked my mom, and then he married someone else with the same name as my mom. Our mom passed away in 2018, and we haven't heard from him or seen him since 2016.
Starting point is 00:41:23 First of all, I'm sorry about your mom passing away. And second of all, that's crazy that that's basically what it took to get this man to leave your family alone. Yeah. And I know we said he's not dangerous, just weird, but I feared this was maybe a little bit. The line was getting blurred. It was getting a little blurry. For sure. I mean, the McDonald's trip, like now all of a sudden I want a Coke and fries.
Starting point is 00:41:53 I know. I really want a Coke and fries. That was like 80% of my thought after I was, when I read that line and then I had to read the rest, I was like, wow. Who could I get to bring me McDonald's at 2 in the morning? Yeah, that was like my first thought so bad. I mean, yeah, that seems pretty nice up until, you know, the One Direction thing. I mean, but we got the tickets eventually. The turning around when he saw your car, like in town.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Alarming. Very alarming. Not worth the McDonald's. I mean, I know that's tough to say, but... It's a toss-up, like, One Direction tickets, McDonald's, being stunk. It's tough to say, but... It's tough. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:42:37 It's probably... For the last. Yeah. Oh, tough. Okay. Shady story number two. I remember when I was younger going to Cedar Point with my girlfriend, whose name is also Brittany, and who's my fiancé now?
Starting point is 00:42:51 Did Brian write in this story? I'm just kidding. And my best friends, we were going on the Millennium Force. One of my best friends had never been on a roller coaster before. Before the ride, he was super chill and didn't seem nervous until we got into the carts and started going up. After about halfway up, he stared freaking out saying that he needed to get off and tried pulling the lever and unbuckled himself. I remember literally having to hold him down to get him to calm down. Thankfully, unsuccessful at unbuckling, and we got off the ride.
Starting point is 00:43:26 And he said, and I quote, that was pretty fun. That's a wholesome story. That was an emotional roller coaster, though. And to be quite frank. I was scared for a moment. I fear that every time I've ever gone on a roller coaster, that is specifically when I start panicking. And then after I'm like, oh my gosh, that was so fun.
Starting point is 00:43:45 But like in the moment, I genuinely would get off the ride if given the option when I'm on my way up. That is fair. I've always loved roller coasters, especially at Cedar Point. I've not been to Cedar Point. Honestly, probably almost 10 years at this point. The last time I went was in college. It's been a while now.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Same. I think mine has been even probably. I loved Cedar Point. It was always so much fun to go. But now, again, since the frontal lobe is there fully, I don't think I would ever really look at it the same. Yeah. And unfortunately, I don't. I have really bad motion sickness, so I have to take non-drowsy drumamine before the simplest of rides.
Starting point is 00:44:29 I'm not going to lie to. I think that was always my favorites were always the spinning things. And even at like fairs, the one alien, like spaceship that you spin in zero gravity. I never done that one. And the thought, the way people describe the zero gravity one felt like it was, for lack of better words, a shit show going. I felt like in my mind, this is how I. I see the zero gravity one. Everyone's just running around, can go over you want,
Starting point is 00:44:55 and then you get slammed back into, like, the gravity. Genuinely, it's not as fun of a zero gravity situation as you might think. Like, that sounds fun to me. Like, you're not actually floating. You're basically just, like, stuck to the wall so you can go, like, upside down. But you don't have, like, do you go upside down? Absolutely. That's the whole point.
Starting point is 00:45:16 That's terrible. What if the gravity comes back and you get your head? I give you like a warning. I don't, it's not just like abrupt. Like it starts to slow down. I have a hard time understanding. I need to see like a video. I feel like to conceptualize what goes on.
Starting point is 00:45:30 It was always my favorite. But now I fear like if I went in there, I probably would vomit after. Yeah. Even like, because obviously I'm a Disney adult. I go on a lot of Disney rides. And like most like they have a lot of like slow moving dark rides. Great. Isn't going to affect my or impact my motion.
Starting point is 00:45:49 sickness, but some of, I think I guess it's the screens. So maybe I would do okay at Cedar Point if I'm avoiding, I mean, I never wouldn't spin any rides anyways. I just feel like too much movement. It doesn't suit my body well anymore. I don't know if it really ever did, but like we just did it anyways and didn't care. I don't even like, I'm going to say this and regret saying this, but I've always wanted to go back for like a Halloween horror night. Actually, I don't think it's called horror nights. What's it called? Halloween horror nights is like a Universal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:20 Halloween weekends? Yeah. Isn't it Halloween? Weekends? I think so. Halloween Hornet is universal. But basically, Searpoint does like the same thing as like it's like.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Yeah. It's like scary people walking around the park and scaring you. In my mind, it's festive, but I don't think it's that festive. I don't like being scared like that. So I'm all set on that. I just want more fall activities.
Starting point is 00:46:41 We have a while until that. But yeah, no, I agree. We're obviously here for all the fall activities. But yeah. Overall, that was a wholesome story. And I relate to your friend, except I would never unbuckle because then I would even panic even more. Yeah, glad they didn't unbuckle.
Starting point is 00:46:57 That's a situation right there. That would have been sketchy. All right, shady story number three. Story time, because this is still funny to me. My ex used to swear we were better as friends and that there were no feelings left. Cool. Except every time I showed up somewhere, they suddenly forgot how to act normal. Staring, hovering nearby, asking mutual friends about me like it was a lot of
Starting point is 00:47:19 a casual survey. They even got weirdly quiet when I laughed with someone else. The best part, telling people they didn't care, while memorizing my schedule better than I ever did. We never talked about it or acknowledged it, but everyone noticed. It was the kind of situation where nothing was said out loud, yet everything was painfully obvious. And it didn't stop there. After the we're better as friend's speech, they suddenly became very invested in my life from a distance, of course, watching every story within minutes reacting to post but never actually replying acting cold in person then warm when no one else was around they would bring up old inside jokes like they didn't mean anything then go completely silent when i didn't laugh the way i used to what really gave it away was how bothered they got by nothing a new outfit attitude a new friend attitude me being happy definitely attitude they tried to play it cool but you could feel the tension shift the second i walked into a room mutual friends started exchanging looks like are we really pretending this isn't happening we never talked about it because talking would admit admitting something so instead it turned into this unspoken game pretending we were over each other while acting like we weren't and honestly everyone knew it was never a secret just a truth no one wanted to say out loud this is very giggly to me why i saw you smiling out of the corner of my eye because i just feel like i've i can i've seen everyone before yeah i i I agree.
Starting point is 00:48:46 I feel like everyone goes through this at some point. They sure do. In high school. But I don't know if it's as far as like hovering or like. Oh no. This definitely definitely goes like a little bit further than like your typical situation. Because this is a very familiar. But like the watching the stories immediately and all that.
Starting point is 00:49:09 I feel like everyone has like that situation. Yeah. It's like a situation ship in. high school, like, everyone goes through. You know what? I don't, and I'm going to admit this and it's making me seem old, I don't fully understand what a situation ship is. Like, it's like when people our age used to say like, we're just talking, but like,
Starting point is 00:49:29 now it's a situation. Now it's like a situation ship. Honestly, I think I, okay, if that's like basically like it's one for one or close enough talking, so I think I like the term situation ship better than we're talking. Adults never knew what we met when we said, oh, we're just talking. They're just talking. Yeah. No,
Starting point is 00:49:47 situationhip is a lot better word for it. It is. I feel like it makes it more meaningful. And maybe that's what we needed. That's the problem. It's a problem. Maybe that's the problem. No, I think that's funny.
Starting point is 00:50:00 It's like a classic talking situation. It does feel very like high school, everyone's friends, like. Yeah. It's so silly. It reminded me. It's so giggly. Of how old we are. to where we can look back and also giggle.
Starting point is 00:50:17 And that's shady as heck. So that's it for today's episode. We'll see you guys the next one or on the Patreon bonus content. This week we are talking about Paris Fashion Week, the people who are there and what's going on in their lives and also what they're wearing. So if you want to see that, we'll see you on the Patreon bonus content. If not, we'll see you guys in the next one. Bye, everyone.
Starting point is 00:50:37 Bye.
