Starting point is 00:00:00 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. It is officially spooky season, as you can see by the set. So I figured, what better way to start spooky season than to bring on the biggest witch I know, my sister, Elena. That guy? The skeleton. No, honestly, we're excited to have you back. This is Elena's second time on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:00:28 First time Brittany wasn't there. So now she was not be a part of it. We're just going to do like regular go through the motions of the episode. Get Elena's take on stuff. We're going to ask a few things about the wedding, but we're mainly going to talk about the wedding on the Patreon. So if you're not part of the Patreon, make sure you join because the bonus content this week is going to be all about, we're
Starting point is 00:00:51 going to talk a little bit, but it's going to be more so about just the details, maybe some things you wouldn't do again, some things you would do again. So we're going to get into that there, but for now let's get into, oh my gosh, I almost forgot the merch. So we talked before, before we continue, cause I know you guys are just dying to know this sweater I'm wearing, where it's from, are we selling it? So we talked about, we were having some issues with the merch, but we kind of figured it out. So this will be up in the store by the time you're seeing this and then we're still working on a few other things so if we can get them right you will have them this
Starting point is 00:01:32 October but for now it's just going to be this one in the store and there's some home goods in there so go check it out but let's get into what we were up to this past weekend Elena told us something that she said kind of made her feel a little old so what what what did you go through this weekend I feel like I say this a lot where things are making me feel old but we went to a pre-season um Red Wings game against the Blackhawks we love seeing that game it's normally very fast paced and it's exciting it's a good game to go to and we were sitting there and i was like wait who are all these guys playing like i don't recognize any of them like honestly the only person that i could
Starting point is 00:02:12 truly recognize was dylan larkin and everyone else i was like shout out msu um i seriously i pulled up the roster and i'm like these are babies that's why like they're all 23 24 and I there's like three people who were born in like the 80s and I was like okay cool like that's why they're a little more aggressive on the playing field because they're like f these kids like let's go like I feel like I still have it yeah I feel like that's kind of how it is with sports now like when you go and you watch these like we've been talking a lot about football on the podcast and we can get your take on some football stuff but it kind of is weird now like when you watch football as an adult and you're like wait some of these people are younger than us and also so bizarre to think about it's also like what the they're making like hundreds of
Starting point is 00:02:58 millions of dollars and you're just like good for you man like I remember when I was 22 getting hammered in college I literally told Matt I go I would be okay being a guy who doesn't even play like just put me on the bench for what they get played he's like yeah but they're going to the practice I go yeah they get to practice at the best facilities they get to do all be in their best health and shape and all that I go now they don't have to worry about getting hurt like it's like the best of both worlds you're on the team you get to be a part of all the adventure of it now they don't have to worry about getting hurt. Like, it's, like, the best of both worlds. You're on the team. You get to be a part of all the adventure of it. And you don't have to get hurt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I feel like that's a good. Yeah. That's a good take on it, I guess. Because I feel like, too, we always talk about, like, we didn't know that in football they have, like, so many players that actually are just on, like, practice squads. Like on the bench. Yeah. But, like, also players that don't
Starting point is 00:03:46 even get signed to a team, they're kind of like free floaters and they just kind of are there in case and they really don't play. And it's like, I feel like people kind of gave it a negative connotation before, but it's like, dude, no, that's like probably best case scenario. You still make good money, but like you don't have to get there's no risk involved no pressure yeah um of actually playing the game but yeah that's funny so are you into have you been watching football keeping up with anything football I feel like that's what all the news has been pop culture has been really surrounding the NFL lately yes and no like last week we had golf on at the house um even though it was like in Rome so Matt like recorded it because it started at like 1 a.m our time yeah so he was like I gotta DVR it so I can watch it DVR I feel like that
Starting point is 00:04:30 makes us old yeah it does it's like I can't watch the next episode because I didn't finish the last one I'm like I think it's all right like it's probably already in real time like has already happened you could see it online yeah that's funny a little bit of football but not too much okay well we'll catch up with some of the stuff going on and we'll we'll fill you in um but we actually this weekend we talked also about uber so if you have any uber stories we're gonna ask you for those but it was so funny so we had like two housewarming parties which you were at one but at different times than me um but we were ubering from one to the other and we go to our uber driver we're like um excuse me could you put on 955 and it was like
Starting point is 00:05:12 awkward silence too like do you ever it was uncomfortably quiet in that vehicle uber and like they just don't play music they don't talk like honestly sometimes sometimes you get the ones though that like really want to talk and you're like please sir like i don't want to talk yeah but then like sometimes you get the complete opposite and they're just dead silent and we were all like kind of feeling ourselves we had a couple beers before and so we're just like sitting there we're like fuck we need some music so can you put on 955 he puts on 995 which is complete opposite to vibes it's country whereas 9 5 5 is like pop rap hip-hop like a bunch of like different music so we're like oh okay it's like no one knew how to tell him like wrong channel um yeah and it was just really funny and then we ended up telling him like
Starting point is 00:05:58 no wrong channel but um yeah so we had an interesting uber ride this weekend do you have any uber stories we told some before she like got on the side of the road yeah sketchy was an uber the tire popped off of the car so we were broken down the side and our uber driver tried to you know wave other cars down to help so and like didn't want them to leave yeah like requesting another uber in your uber yeah we had to request another lift because she canceled our ride so we couldn't like there was nothing we could even do with it right it was wild we're like you're just gonna leave us here like we don't know what to do i mean i guess she was stuck in the situation too i was not actually probably scared too yeah literally they're like um are they gonna get us who's gonna get who's gonna save us um
Starting point is 00:06:45 no actually one time i had the same uber driver twice yeah this guy picked us up at the airport and then like a couple years later he picked us up again but this time it was me and my girlfriend and we were driving back and he's like wait he's like i've been your uber driver before right and i was like years later yeah so maybe i don't before, right? And I was like. Years later. Yeah, I think so, maybe. I don't know. And he started talking. I was like, wait, no, like I remember because him and Matt, Matt can talk anybody's ear off.
Starting point is 00:07:13 So they're both talking back and forth. Your husband. Yeah, literally. He's like, I can't talk to people. I'm like, you don't stop talking to the Uber drivers. But no. So when we got back, though, the Uber driver kept trying to talk to us so i had to be like well i gotta go like my parents are inside waiting for me because it started getting a little
Starting point is 00:07:31 sketchy like he was just talking and talking like in my driveway so like i literally had to be like well my mom's waiting for me so like i need to get inside smart not true not true yeah but i was like i want him to think that like someone's waiting for me like i'm not like this isn't like we're not getting tea together like you are my uber driver like see you later sir that's but it was a little weird that's unfortunate yeah we keep saying we're like they need to put something in the apps so that you can if something weird's going on there's like different codes you can like hit yeah that's a good idea like different things more safety measures for sure safety measures but i think they just made something where you can like request like a girl driver or yes that's what
Starting point is 00:08:12 that's i think that's why we brought like up our sketchy stories because we were talking about like now you can request like which is cool i think that's on lyft though it's not uber yet but i'm sure they'll eventually do it but one does yeah yeah but speaking of safety on the phones did you hear all this debacle today the phones went off and everybody was acting like the government was like about to blow us all up at the same time or something with these phone alerts and yours went off oh yes it did so obviously everyone's went off but people on tiktok before this happened were like making it such a thing like i saw videos of people like wrapping their phones in saran wrap wrapping their tinfoil i was like what's going on why are they upset about this
Starting point is 00:08:56 so it was something along the lines of people thought like the government was doing something like pinging the phones and I don't know something weird but a bunch of conspiracies are out in it and then once it happened it was literally like just like when you get an amber yes it was exactly that's what I thought it was at first and then I saw today a tiktok after the fact and somebody was saying yeah my mom made me stay home for school because she knew this was happening today and I was like what do you mean you stayed home from school over your phone going off yeah like we must have got the same tiktok because it was the woman like wrapping the stuff in tinfoil she had tinfoil hat on putting it in the microwave did you see that one yeah and i'm like dude what does this
Starting point is 00:09:38 mean but i feel like it's kind of like when everybody thought in 2000 like the computers were gonna like shut down i think it was kind of like that for some reason people like didn't like that they could just get in our phones at whatever time they wanted i don't know but i'm like literally that's amber alerts too but we were in the car when it happened me and evan and it went on the radio too oh really did like a thing too interesting yeah so i don't know i guess it's just like emergency test alert which like isn't that a good thing that we have that you would think i mean i would want to know something's going on that like i need to be proactive about right yeah i mean and also our phones are always
Starting point is 00:10:19 being like monitored anyways like what were we what were we freaking out about i don't know but here's also the thing how did these people know this was going to happen before it happened because i had no clue that this was like a pre-planned thing that i should be aware of that's true like who told us all this was going to happen because i didn't get an alert alerting me that this was going to be a thing today i don't know an alert about the alert yeah um yeah i don't know it had people acting unhinged though interesting speaking of unhinged let's let's catch you up elena on some stuff so the script's wild this year yeah first and foremost we need to know are you a swifty
Starting point is 00:10:59 i think we all know i'm a swifty yeah okay um see the thing is I don't consider myself a Swifty anymore not because I'm not a fan of Taylor I'm I'm a fan of Taylor but I feel like being a Swifty is just a whole nother level that I've not unlocked anymore because now it is like so deep with what people find online about her and like know and connect all these dots. And I'm like, that's not I'm not at that level. You know what I mean? I don't think I've ever been at that level, like with anybody, to be honest. But I definitely listen to her every day. Oh, OK.
Starting point is 00:11:36 See that? Right there. No, Brittany is definitely like fully involved. All the tech talks like she knows all the details um i'm like in the middle and like i'm a fan but i'm not like that wild but you didn't go i didn't go to the concert you didn't go to the concert what was going on well taylor swift decided to have her concert here in detroit on my wedding the The audacity. Absolutely. Unacceptable. Ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:12:08 I thought about going instead, but I think Matt was not happy about that idea. Yeah, I don't think it would have been a good start to the married life for you guys. But yeah, we didn't go. Brittany went. I was there. We're not at that level yet. But Taylor Swift has been all over the NFL
Starting point is 00:12:24 because she's supposedly dating travis kelsey and she went on the map yeah put him exactly okay so you're in the know you're in the know it's about taylor exactly um but people are actually starting to get a little bit like upset with how much they're showing her and like promoting her on the NFL now and people are like pissed football fans are not happy to the point that now the NFL has started to like retract some of the things that they've done they had their bios on like all their social media platforms about Taylor they were just having fun with it maybe too much fun some would say but people got to the point where they're like no this is not okay stop it and Travis Kelsey has even commented on
Starting point is 00:13:10 on this point on his podcast this week he was talking about I think his brother was asking him like do you think that they're going too far he was like you know it might be a bit much now he's like I think we've you know could calm down a little bit but everyone's just having fun yeah I kind of got the vibe like he didn't want to say anything negative but also he was right in the same boat of like this supposed to be about football like it's fine to show people and have fun with it but then it's like get back to the game but it was so much so that like people thought the NFL literally like rigged the game that she was at. It was like the Chiefs versus the Jets and the Jets ended up losing. But there was a couple of calls that were like very sketchy, like questionable. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Like they said holding and like there was no holding against the Jets. And so like there was a couple of calls right at the end that really cost them the game. And people were like, they did that because if swifties are watching this they will just tune out if like the chiefs start losing so they didn't want to lose all those new fans viewers so they let it though they should try being a lions fan for like a day and see how we feel because that's our life out here getting all the negative calls yeah and to be honest like i don't think that would make Swifties stop watching it anyway. No, they're going to watch regardless if Taylor's there.
Starting point is 00:14:28 They're going to be there every Chiefs game, seeing if she's in that crowd. They had something crazy like 27 million viewers. Like, it's going to get to the point where Chiefs games are going to have more viewers than the Super Bowl because Swifties are crazy. Unless my theory is correct that in 2025, Taylor's performing at the super bowl and i think that's why she's partnering with them right now what do you think i could see it i mean it's definitely like i feel like after she came off of this tour she ended up even releasing more dates for next year so i could see her like riding that wave to like amp up everything and then making a move to
Starting point is 00:15:00 slide in you know not saying that they're not dating or whatever the case is, like there's probably definitely some flirting going on or whatever. Um, but I mean, it makes sense. It's going to definitely help like both sides. Like the NFL would be silly to not take advantage of that too. Right. Like, yeah. And that's basically what they're doing. So now they're promoting her new ventures. She's promoting the NFL and they're both winning. And it's like, I think people don't like to think about that because they like to like they don't want to think of Taylor Swift as this like businesswoman sometimes they want like it's so relatable to be excited and go to the game because she's dating this guy but at the end of the day it's Taylor Swift like she's a genius like she's
Starting point is 00:15:41 a businesswoman she's gonna make money if there's an opportunity to make money and that's what i think she's doing here and oh go on go on i think people don't like the idea that things can be not necessarily staged because i'm not saying that that stage but they like to live in that like little bubble of things just naturally organically happen right so they don't want that to be their bubble bursted so to to speak, of like, wait, this is like fantasy land. Like this is all planned, you know? Like who knows? They could break up and she could write a song
Starting point is 00:16:10 and then that's what she performs at the Super Bowl. It could be. That's a new twist on it. That is a new twist on it. But here's the thing. With things being staged, they actually capitalized, State Farm did, on Taylor being at the game with Mama Kelsey, Travis Kelsey's
Starting point is 00:16:27 mom, because Ryan Redald's marketing company set up Jake from State Farm sitting next to Mama Kelsey at the Philadelphia Eagles game this past Sunday, and it was played out to be exactly like Taylor being next to him to the point where
Starting point is 00:16:43 the picture of her with a chicken tender, ketchup and seemingly ranch. I've heard about that. It's like a big thing that she had ketchup and ranch on her. Apparently that's news these days. So Jake from State Farm, the actor who plays Jake from State Farm was there next to her with chicken tenders,
Starting point is 00:17:00 ketchup, seemingly ranch. He walked out. He was being like Taylor. And Taylor signed off on it because it's ryan reynolds marketing company that's crazy that you know planned and orchestrated this whole thing with jake from state farm in uniform and jason kelsey walked out of the stadium with him and they did the little like hey wave that she did in the video with travis um basically
Starting point is 00:17:23 there was a thing though I don't know why like when I think about loving ranch so much I just think about us as kids just absolutely eating ranch on everything or like a spoon once you definitely I feel like we're the biggest ranch girl but um we we all are here I feel like it's such a midwest thing but um truly but basically she was eating I feel like you've done this too, where you mix like the ketchup and the ranch. Yeah, it's delicious. Anyway, so she did that. She had ketchup and ranch and wrote tons of articles calling it like seemingly ranch.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Like they wouldn't say that it was ranch. They were like being like seemingly. Like they were speculating that like maybe it's not ranch. Like it was for sure ketchup, but seemingly ranch. We're not too sure. Could be anything. Could be mayo remarketed as aioli. Have you seen that, too?
Starting point is 00:18:10 No. Like, who's doing that? No, because the thing is, mayo has been around for, like, so long. But, like, basically. The rebranding? The rebranding of mayo is now aioli. Because aioli is basically mayo. No, it is.
Starting point is 00:18:22 Yeah. But now it's just, like, rebranded. Okay. Well, I fell for it. Because aioli is good mayo no it is yeah but now it's just like rebranded okay well i fell for it because i always add different spices that's true so that's why it's like it's the fancy version but people mix ketchup and mayo too like that that freaks me out really i think it's kind of like big mac sauce a little bit like not like in that realm like the hundred island yeah secret sauce situation yeah it's not thousand island but like in that realm. Like the hundred island secret sauce situation. Yeah. It's not thousand island, but it's like somewhere over there.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Yeah. It's good. I've had it. See, I'm not a big sauce girl besides ranch and ketchup and seemingly ranch and ketchup. But yeah, there was another conspiracy that happened with these Taylor Swift things. I love to get into these conspiracies. Do you like conspiracy? Yeah, they can get really scary though i know just the fun ones yours is pretty good though
Starting point is 00:19:10 the conspiracy that she's gonna break up with him write a song perform at sumo that's that's kind of my favorite one yeah yeah i kind of like that but people were saying that this is how much of a mastermind she is that taylor stuff purposely went to this specific Chiefs games because it was against the Jets. And previously, if you would search on Google Taylor Swift Jets, it would be all these negative articles about like how she rides private jets and her carbon emissions are terrible. And that was kind of the one thing she couldn't shake that was negative about her. Shake, shake, shake it off. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:44 That's true. She couldn't shake it off and so they couldn't get rid of it so to change the google seo so now when you type in taylor swift jets it's just all about her at the jets game and i and i think she could be that smart she is that smart where she's got a fire pr team and we gotta find if not someone else on her team yeah we've got to uh we gotta figure out who that is but um what else so taylor we can't we can't get rid of this woman she's at least half the podcast every week since she's done the air tour at least she stays in the headlines well that's what I said like we've been having this conversation off the podcast with our friends but we kind of did talk about it on the
Starting point is 00:20:30 podcast like what what do you think she's up to that she's just like all of a sudden interested in going to all these social events all these things like do all these things because before she really wasn't doing all that and now all of a sudden like she was at the vma she's going to these football games we're all like is she just like in her little party era like wants to go have fun and like those are her like kind of off days and she's like screw it like if i get publicity for it like what i don't know like i told matt i was like she doesn't have time to go to all these games. That's what I said. She's a big woman. And he, like, sent me a picture.
Starting point is 00:21:08 He goes, looks like she cleared the schedule. And I was like, I guess so. Who knows? Maybe, like, for all we know, maybe she's going to drop another surprise album. Yeah. Like, she's been, like, redoing her albums for, like, Taylor's version. So, like, maybe that's in the works. And, I mean, again, she's got this momentum.
Starting point is 00:21:24 She's really, like, I feel like she's truly, like, embraced herself. Like, I don't know if you saw, the um the documentary she had on Netflix yeah yeah that was really good too so maybe she's just coming into like her own shell of like being comfortable yeah which is awesome like yeah there's obviously a lot of skeptical I can't say that word skepticism yeah um that goes around especially in that industry so maybe she's just like hey I'm gonna do what feels good now it was just crazy too because she went to this game and she brought like so many people with her all her besties and it's crazy though too because I feel like you never see them together like you know she's she's supposedly best friends with like
Starting point is 00:22:02 Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively yeah and like you always kind of heard it and you'd randomly get a picture of them together but you you could never totally fathom the friendship you're like how did that happen right how do they click i still yeah it's still something that goes in my brain like that just i don't know but she brought them to the game and i feel like i've never seen them interact like that yeah for that it was like weird to see them all like interacting i'm like what's going on and they had hugh jackman there sabrina carpenter i think sophie turner was there probably didn't they just go out together too they did she loaned her this is what we're going to talk about too taylor swift loaned sophie turner her apartment to stay at to live at in new york with the kids until they figure out like the whole
Starting point is 00:22:45 custody thing with joe jones and the divorce so taylor literally loaned her her apartment first of all what are you gonna loan me what did i save you for this i'll get you a starbucks that's all you get or you can have the studio for a night thank you there you go that's a good one for one night no one night only um that's kind of funny that's kind of reminds me of the freaking people loaning out their like houses on airbnb weren't celebrities like doing that for a second like probably like but you can stay with her though that's what hers is wait what yeah hers is she's renting it out but you stay with her like she hangs out with you for like is there a vetting process like she's not scared of like a stalker potentially coming to stay at
Starting point is 00:23:31 her house well people were commenting were like no thank you she's like they were saying like she's the kind of person that would like hunt the people that like you know there's those movies those movies about like the rich people like hunting the people yeah they were like she's the kind of person that would go hunting you or something that's like what the hell um but yeah i didn't know you didn't know about that no i had no clue yeah that's that's so cool she's there like i wouldn't even want my friends to come like if my friends stay too long i'm like, all right. You're going to go? I'll see you. See you another time. You know, I'll just go. You know? You stay. You stay.
Starting point is 00:24:07 I'll go. God, yeah. So that's kind of really what's been going on with all this Taylor Swift stuff. But enough about her. Let's talk about divorce. But really quickly, we can talk a little snippet about, just briefly, how is married life? Yeah. How did you go from divorce to married life well yeah one of the other um if it's not going well there's divorce um no i mean obviously not much has changed because we were already living together we
Starting point is 00:24:39 already have dogs together we've it's been the same thing basically um essentially i think in a nutshell marriage is like loving your partner more than you ever have but then also like wanting to punch them in the face oh that i feel like that that's real yeah that that can happen love him don't like him some days that i always say that cool like you can love somebody but you don't always have to like them yeah like we talked about like even like when we got up like i love you but i wanted to strangle you a lot of the time yeah that's uh that's how it goes yeah but that's also just like living with somebody like doing yeah doing all those like i think that's pretty natural like some people they might think that that's alarming but i feel like you live with somebody you do stuff with them all the
Starting point is 00:25:23 time like you know you don't put the dishes where I want them, like even living together. Right. Like everybody still has their own like way of doing stuff, you know? Right. I do think it's like important to have like your own like time, like your own hobbies and your own stuff. And that's what makes it like, so you really don't kill each other, you know, having that balance.
Starting point is 00:25:45 So, but it's been good. That's good. Good luck. Speaking of hobbies. No, well, you know what the thing is before we get into your hobbies? Because last time you were on, we talked about a sedition school and now you're done with it and your license. But we'll get into that. But I was just going to say, I feel like, I don't know, living together and all that, it's so common now before you get married
Starting point is 00:26:07 that a lot of people don't experience. I think so many people think marriage like, oh, they're in the honeymoon phase. And it's like, you don't really get that anymore because like you've already been together for so long a lot of times and you've lived together. And so you don't like experience that. And so people think like think like oh there's something wrong with us if we don't have that honeymoon phase but like also if you've been like that's normal to not also have it like in the beginning of dating you might have it but if you've dated long enough to marry someone it's also okay to not have another honeymoon phase like after you get married I think like for like so we've been married like four months or something like that at this point I think like the first month in like the month before you kind of feel
Starting point is 00:26:50 like the honeymoon phase because you're like giggly like you're like excited for like yeah everything that's going on yeah what's about to happen and then afterwards like if you do go on a honeymoon it's like a literal honeymoon yeah it's like wow this is nice and we're spending time but even on our honeymoon like we made sure to like have like I brought a book and or like I posted on Instagram. People are like, stay off Instagram. Like, enjoy your honeymoon. It's like, no, like my husband's doing his thing right now, too.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Like to spend 24 hours for OK, we were gone for 17 days nonstop together. Yeah, right. That's a lot. Like lot like yeah that doesn't mean i don't love you it's just wait like i just need to like let me hear the birds chirp or something like right yeah it's normal like want your own yeah like even to get a coffee in the morning by yourself or like that's kind of like the little stuff that like we that here move um that we did like on our own it's not like we went to like dinner by ourself you know um but like no like the honeymoon phase it's like for us at least it wasn't like like
Starting point is 00:27:51 we're not still in the honey everyone's like enjoy it it's like i've known him for forever like yeah i do think that it's important to live together beforehand because like i always it's an adjustment like i know some people think oh it's too soon and you should wait and say that like you know but it's like living with people are it's hard it really is you know like some people aren't compatible just in living together like yeah it really is a test to your your relationship it's gonna be new new arguments that you've never had before because like it's over stupid shit so like really you should be fine and you should get over it but like it's just new stuff that you've never had to talk about and now you're having to talk about it like just annoying little things of like not putting the
Starting point is 00:28:33 dish in the dishwasher like stuff like little things but they just add up and they get to you and they cause these fights that you're just not used to having and actually Brittany's looking at me she's been talking about moving in with brian and i keep saying the same thing like definitely like for sure do it because it's like it's a new chapter of just figuring each other out and like wouldn't you rather do that before you commit to somebody for the rest of your life and then you move in and you're like oh my god i want to what did i do like i can't stand this person but no obviously i think you guys will be like totally i hope so but i keep making jokes too i'm like so is brian gonna be fine with watching the same one of the same five movies every night
Starting point is 00:29:16 i have my comfort movies and i like my comfort movies and she and she literally like after we talked about that she like asked brian he was. He was like, what do you mean? I was like, you do that anyways. Like, you're not going to stop doing it. No, that's when you buy two TVs and they go somewhere else. Yeah, he can go somewhere else. But, yeah, that's your hobbies. Let's get back, though. I want to talk about this.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Your hobbies, the same five movies. Your hobbies is Disney movies and the same. I didn't even really know that about you but i guess i did what then i watch the same five but here's the thing you put on the same one every time you sleep at my house which is spider-man it's not even did why is disney but it's marvel so i feel like it's a little different yeah but that's when i think of disney i think like i don't know like princesses and stuff tangled is one of them tangles is up there with them that's when i think of disney i think like i don't know like princesses and stuff tangled is one of them tangles is up there with them that's one of mine too
Starting point is 00:30:08 see it's a good one watch it though like regularly but like if i had to pick i would pick but here's the thing i don't even like look at the tv when they're on like i put it on and then immediately like turn the other way and like background noise yeah it's like white noise at this point mine is friends yeah my like if i need noise that's a good one friends is like what's on because it's on every night on nick so i'm like okay if evan's not home friends is on just thinking so i can hear their voices and i'm like okay somebody i know is your friends are here my friends are here yeah literally they're near as i can hear them um do you have a comfort show gray's anatomy
Starting point is 00:30:45 really i feel like that's intense for a comfort show because i've already seen it like a couple times like i didn't watch it until like later in life like some people grew up like as it was like live watching it right i didn't watch it until probably like i don't know like 10 years ago like the show's been on for like forever right like um I will say I didn't watch the last season wasn't my favorite but that's okay um but no because I already know what happens and then sometimes okay that's I'm taking this back sometimes I forgot what forgot what happened so I'm like oh my heart's breaking all over again I could never I think if I heard all the commotion like with friends there's really not anything going on like there's plots but it's not like that like I feel like that's such an intense plot that I'd be like
Starting point is 00:31:29 my ears would be like what was that and I'd like wake up to just see what was going on again well and half their cast has like died off so then you're like oh my god this is the episode where George dies yeah and you but then I start watching it again I, yes, I'm so happy I redid this. Oh, my God. That's intense. We got to talk about your intense time, though, in school. Because when you came on, you were just starting school. That was it. You went through. And I think I said on the podcast, we titled it.
Starting point is 00:31:57 We literally titled the episode, My Sister's Gone Crazy. It was a play on words. But mainly because you were going through esthetician school planning a wedding all by yourself now I mean you have friends and stuff but like you planned every like you didn't get a planner and then you went through school but you were still in it when we did the podcast you were just beginning school no we did the podcast in September and I started in January okay so I was like about to start so January I started I in the meantime of going to school Monday through Friday some
Starting point is 00:32:33 Saturdays because we had like a bachelorette party we had I had to go to New York for some training for esthetician stuff um so all those days I had to make up so some weeks I went Monday through Saturday um but yeah I finished I think like 12 days before the wedding I finished esthetician school that is so close like that's insane I mean it could have gone later if there was like it was just something I wanted to do um was finished before the wedding but like I just recently got licensed like in the last couple months because you have time to like schedule your test um but no on top of that i planned the wedding i did oh i did band practice um because you know which we will talk about more in the patreon bonus content no it's a good zip it no i elena did a surprise for matt at their wedding and we're gonna explain it in the
Starting point is 00:33:27 patreon bonus but you were doing some crazy a lot of stuff busy busy woman intense time but you made it through honestly it was a lot of fun i kind of enjoyed it like afterwards matt was like what are you gonna do after like you're done planning the wedding and you're done doing this and that and i was like i don't know i i'm nervous after like you're done planning the wedding and you're done doing this and that? And I was like, I don't know. I'm nervous because like he was nervous in the fact that like I would be like depressed and sad, like not know like what to do with your time. Right. And I was like, I think I'm going to breathe. Like I think I'm just going to breathe for a second.
Starting point is 00:33:59 And then actually I didn't even breathe because it went right into like studying for my test and then getting like my esthetician stuff rolling. So which has been going. So that's fun. Yeah. So I didn't know that after you do the school, you have to like take a test for the license. Yeah, because it's through the state. So like it's completely like it's state boards. Like mine was over Zoom.
Starting point is 00:34:19 So like that was easy. But yeah, you schedule it online. There's a written part and a practical so like you have to do like you have to pretend to do a facial um and like video it or something so it's on zoom so like well or you can go in person i just wanted to do it on zoom but no you have a mannequin and matt's like terrified of the mannequin he's like get that thing out of here i want to see i want to see you do that do you remember the boxing man thing that we had yes it was like connected to like the barrel i think we called him bob yeah yeah so like picture like that but
Starting point is 00:34:52 like from like the torso up it doesn't have eyelashes you usually put makeup on it and everything you put makeup on it yeah they don't care what the makeup looks like they just want to make sure like you're bracing and stuff but yeah it's wild so technically like you learned how to do makeup all that yeah i'm not offering makeup don't don't book makeup with me you're doing facials mainly yeah that's what i want to focus on is facials that's yeah so like i'm like certified in hydrafacial and other trainings that i've gotten like so i want to focus on facials i really enjoy it and that's fun. It makes, like, the day go by faster, I feel, because they're longer appointments. Yes, you don't do as many.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Yeah. It's, like, relaxing. Yeah, like, I start getting, like, I start getting relaxed. I'm like, oh, I'm working. Just sleep. No, sometimes, like, when I'm massaging, like, the face, like, I start closing my eyes. I'm like, oh, wait, no, like, because I'm just that relaxed. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Like, you know. That's fun, though. which is probably good for me yeah you made it through i did you you made it to the wedding matt didn't want to kill you before you got married so that was good he probably did but we made it he's probably like this crazy woman no it actually was probably the best thing for us because i was never home like i was always gone i was at school and i was yeah he had time to do whatever he wanted to do band practice yeah um okay well well we're not going to divorce anytime soon then um but you know you know about ariana grande getting divorced from her man and then she was with spongebob yeah yeah um Yeah. Allegedly, they're not living together. What if they're heading for marriage?
Starting point is 00:36:27 It could be. I mean, we were just talking about it. You should live with someone before you get married. Maybe it'll break them. They could be testing the waters. Or that. Yeah. It'll make them break up.
Starting point is 00:36:35 One or the other. But yeah, I didn't even know about that. You put this in the notes. What are the deets? Who saw them? Where are they? Are they still doing Wicked? I think they're still filming Wicked.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Yeah, that's how they got together. Yes, they're both on the cast for that. But they've been seemingly confirmed as more than friends because they were spotted actually at Disneyland together this past week. And then the rumors are allegedly they're moving in together as they're both going through divorces. So maybe they're just support buddies or maybe they're moving in together as you know they're both going through divorces so maybe maybe they're just support buddies or maybe they're um something else support buddy i thought that was going somewhere else um yeah me too interesting interesting well
Starting point is 00:37:16 um you know her ex pete davidson is here with us today everybody welcome Pete Davidson I'm just kidding I've been wanting to do that joke man I said I'm gonna put the skeleton in here and I'm gonna say it's Pete Davidson because we talked about him last episode and Brittany was like how cool would it be if he came on the podcast he's coming to Detroit and I was like yes yeah for sure and then I called Brittany I'm like I got a skeleton and we're gonna say it's Pete Davidson. She talked through the whole joke she was like yes yeah for sure and then i called britney i'm like i got a skeleton and we're gonna say it's she's talking the whole joke she was like i'm so excited i can't wait face right here no it was just glue his face yeah he's like tall and skinny so i was like it's funny but anyways um he kind of was doing a pete davidson stance right now too just like happy yeah good vibes um well not so good
Starting point is 00:38:07 vibes he crashed his car again that's why he's like in the news which he we talked about this last season he ended up on somebody's front lawn and then like now he just got in another situation but um i was more so hoping he was going to be in the news for this movie that he's in because i didn't even know he was in this movie i saw it last night with evan for his birthday dumb money and it's about the gamestop stock you know how like basically during covid all these like just random investors that like at home just regular people who do like stock investing their hobbies yes so their hobbies why they don't want to kill their husbands um so all these random people who do like stock investing started coming together because of one guy being like
Starting point is 00:38:58 gamestop is an interesting stock to me and all of these people in Wall Street had bet against GameStop as a company. They basically did a short investment, which means if this company fails, they make a lot of money. Yeah. So they bet against the company, which is kind of shitty. So then all these people were like, screw the man. Like, let's take down these big guys. If we all invest in GameStop, it won't fail and we'll run these big Wall Street guys into the man. Like, let's take down these big guys. If we all invest in GameStop, it won't fail.
Starting point is 00:39:26 And we'll run these big Wall Street guys into the ground. And so that's literally what they did. So much so that it caused a whole thing with the Congress. Like, and this was like during COVID. Yeah, it was a lot. So is that why I missed it? Because like I was just. Yes, probably.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Could have been. One of my, one of the interns on our team at the time was like invested in game stop i'm pretty sure and got a bunch of money out of it and so then what they just retired no they didn't get that much money like they weren't like too involved they were like lightly involved to where like they got enough to like go on a nice trip or like yeah something but not enough to like they still had to get a job yeah yeah well it was cool because in this movie they kind of showed like the random people like that like people that just did what they did a couple hundred bucks and then made a couple thousand bucks and they just did different storylines of different people who invested in it like they did one guy
Starting point is 00:40:23 from detroit michigan they did somebody maybe it was him no probably wasn't did he say he was an intern no it was he worked at gamestop like a physical location oh did you know this yes so did you know this during covid did you know this i couldn't believe it well i saw this in the movie and i was like no way gamestop actually is one of the only companies that stayed open during COVID because they were considered. How? They were considered an essential business. For what? Because they sold computer mouses.
Starting point is 00:40:55 And somehow that worked. And that made them essential? Yeah, because everyone's working from home. Oh, I could see that. I mean, realistically, you could get computer mouses from anywhere. GameStop was not a sole survivor. They found survivor loophole and that's how they stayed open but honestly good for them like a lot of people's like sanity honestly too like being able to play video games while they're still home and get like the newest and greatest like right probably is a full circle moment here
Starting point is 00:41:18 yeah well i thought the movie was cool i didn't even know pete davidson was in it but he's one of kind of the main characters he's like the brother of the main guy who started this whole movement um but it's cool because like in the beginning they tell you how much the people invested or like what their net worth was some people was like negative two hundred thousand dollars from just like college debt like stuff like that right and then at the end they would show you their new like net worth and it was kind of cool to see so i think claim anyways yeah what the internet was able to find um i think those are never accurate but whatever no so in this movie though i thought it was pretty cool um and there was like a couple funny moments but it really was more like informative than
Starting point is 00:41:59 anything i didn't fully know what happened like i remember hearing bits and pieces of it at the time covid was such like a weird time that like I would hear random stuff like this but I also feel like TikTok wasn't that informational at the time like I didn't really go on it that much because I feel like that's when it first started getting big and it was a lot of like the dancing and the this and the that make some bread yeah yeah so it wasn't totally like how it is now good yeah that was all the whipped coffee i feel like it was all just like little niche trends but it wasn't as like vast as it is today like now you can find anything everybody's making videos now so right so much more out there but that's pretty much where we get all our information but we won't say that
Starting point is 00:42:42 to yes um but no so yeah i i thought it was a good movie um but i don't know i haven't really been keeping up with i didn't even know this movie was out evan was like oh let's go for my birthday and i was like sick i could see him liking that movie and picking that movie i just we were making a joke and i was like yeah i remember the time where evan was like looking into the distance and we were like, what are you thinking about right now? Like, we're all right here. And what did he say?
Starting point is 00:43:11 It's stock. The stock market or something crazy. What? Like investments. And we're like, what? Total Evan-y. Yeah. But so he liked the movie.
Starting point is 00:43:22 But there's some new reality TV stuff out. Were you ever a bachelor? that's unfortunate i'm sorry i don't keep up with all this stuff i'm i'm on like what are you up to but i'm watching like scandal or how to get away with murder or did you watch that whole show how to get away with murder yeah it was really was really good. It's done now. Suits. I finished that. Oh, I didn't watch that. We're working on that right now. Something. No.
Starting point is 00:43:49 I've been watching for a while. I can't tell you why I got less interest because I don't want to ruin it for anybody. But there was like a part where I got less interested in it. And then I was like, it's a hassle for me to turn it on. Just see it through. I will. I will. Evan will make me.
Starting point is 00:44:01 He literally was like, if you don't watch this with me, I'm going to watch it without you. Oh, we've talked about it. He's like I got this this idea of what happens Yeah, he's like he's into it Well, it's the threat of like just him watching without me and pisses me off. Yeah, I don't know. I can't have that That's another thing you'll learn when you live together You cannot watch the show without the other person if you start it together. That's a rule. That's a rule good to know Good to know that'll make or break you. I to rule i feel like i hopefully won't break that rule i'll just be watching my comfort shows no he'll probably watch without you because you'll fall asleep
Starting point is 00:44:34 that's true and then i'll get pissed and then you'll get pissed that's um but no i was just gonna say did you see the golden bachelor he's like 70 years old oh i did see that though so i didn't yes i think like one episode came out but i didn't did you i watched it i didn't watch it but i just seen so many tiktoks of people being like honestly i don't know if i can watch the season because i actually love this man so much he's like i'm pure soul i've ever seen on tv like he like deserves better i don't know like they're just scared he's gonna get hurt like yeah like they don't want him to get hurt like they're just too into it but i'm not gonna be able to watch him cry and i'm pretty sure he's gonna cry during it and like the thought of that already
Starting point is 00:45:13 breaks my heart i can't do it yeah he's 70 i think he's somewhere around there 70 72 yeah he deserves love well it's funny too because i saw clips about um like they're comparing like a video of how the bachelor used to be and it's like a bunch of girls like fighting with each other like throwing things whatever and then it shows like the clip of the older ladies they're all dancing dancing together and like having the best time maybe now i'll tune in see that's what maybe now everyone maybe that's what they did everyone A rebrand. They needed it. It was super cute. I really liked it.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Just because when I still watch Bachelor in Paradise and I'll watch Bachelor, Bachelor here and there but I stopped watching The Bachelor in particular because the girls would get so mean and so catty with each other that I was like this is not fun. This just makes me feel
Starting point is 00:46:04 stressed and uncomfortable. I don't want to watch this right now. mean and so catty with each other that i was like this is not fun this just makes me feel stressed and uncomfortable i don't want to watch this right now secondhand stress it was too much wait one second what were the ladies doing let me see your dance moves again oh my god no it was perfect crop that out of the video please i actually got into it for a second yeah you did it was like before the it starts with the shoulders that's the yes i told you before the podcast started i was doing a little shoulder move i was like that's smooth baby um anyways back to this though some some reality tv apparently the kardashians are back i don't keep up with the kardashians oh i i watch just for funsies i've just seen yeah i've just seen a bunch of stuff which i guess this that we can
Starting point is 00:46:45 talk about this because sisters basically did you know that travis barker dated kim kardashian before marrying courtney nope yeah did that just get like slipped under the rug or like no like people knew about it but it's becoming a thing again because i loved her yeah and apparently he wrote about it in his book he like fell in love with her because he was friends with Paris I think I don't know if he was friends or dating Paris or what it was Paris Hilton at the time not like fully but they were going on dates because he had just gotten divorced from his wife got it time so it was dating Paris but they went on a trip together and on the trip uh Paris brought Kim because
Starting point is 00:47:25 remember Kim used to be the closet organizer so she brought her and then I guess the whole time he was like writing about or saying that he was in love with Kim instead of Paris he wasn't really interested in Paris he was interested in Kim the whole time so Courtney like knew this because the book came out like before they got married years ago somebody was saying they're like i'm surprised that like he hasn't gone and like had every copy like ripped off the shelves and like disappeared swept under the rug because like he goes into great lengths and detail on how he fell in love with kim and my date yes and supposedly yes they went on dates multiple dates apparently it wasn't like dating like boyfriend girlfriend but they went on dates multiple dates apparently it wasn't like dating like boyfriend girlfriend but they went on dates and i see i'm pretty sure he says he says that that is why he
Starting point is 00:48:12 originally moved to calabasas or wherever they live and move next door to courtney next door to courtney because he wanted to be closer to kim to hopefully date i did hear that even that's weird though right like i mean that's. So you went from dating one friend to being obsessed and in love with the friend to now marrying the sister. We see this sometimes. Are you just a homie hopper? What's happening?
Starting point is 00:48:35 Sometimes people date sisters and it's weird. Yeah, it's weird. Yeah. Yeah, no. We specifically have talked about this multiple times and we know people who've done this in real life. In real life. And like, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't like.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Like, I don't know how else to say it. Like, absolutely. Well, I look at Evan as like a brother. Like, right. He's going to be my brother in law. But like, genuinely, before we're even married. But my sister. I mean, I would. Imagine. Right.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I wouldn't have, like. Right. In any universe, any man, any world, even if I was single, like, no, it's not happening. Just imagine, like, I don't know. How could you ever, like, process that in your brain of, like, my sibling was with this person and now you're gonna.
Starting point is 00:49:23 Disgusting. Scum of the earth. Brittany's passionate about it. I am passionate about this topic. Oh, passionate about this topic it's really creepy too to move in next door to somebody just to like be close to their sister like it's weird vibes yeah like i hope i run into them at the grocery store that's like some stalker that's what i'm saying like that's a little creepy yeah um but yeah well yeah condone it um but also that leads us to kim is in paris for fashion week along with a lot of celebrities and supposedly paris which you went to you can give your two cents on this is having an outbreak of bed bugs where it's like so bad that the the officials i don't know if it was like the police,
Starting point is 00:50:06 but somebody came out and was like, nobody is safe. Like not like, they didn't say like- Did they issue an Amber Alert on their phones? Hopefully, that'll solve something. Hopefully. No, and so like people were like, they didn't even try to be like, we're handling it, it's under control.
Starting point is 00:50:21 They were like, nobody is safe. Yeah, they just said like, beware because it's on planes, trains. Like it's not even just like hotel rooms or motel rooms. It's everywhere at the movie theaters. Like, yeah, because they, it cannot be contained. They travel within any soft surface. So people are now like making videos being like, if you go somewhere, any hotel, even if it's like nice, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:50:44 You like, don't put your bags on the carpet like if there's a hardwood floor you keep your bags there you don't yeah i know same i was like panicking i'm like dude i probably have them but like i haven't even really been anywhere but like you would know right yeah you would know i got them before oh and remember how i told you a lot we talked about this last week how the only other time i had been to traverse city really was for student council like going to like a conference there when i went to the conference we stayed somewhere in traverse city i won't name it um and we got bed bugs me and like there was a couple girls all in the same room we all got these like rashes on us and luckily one of the girls got it like before we had even left so we figured it out and we didn't bring all of our stuff like inside to our rooms
Starting point is 00:51:31 we had to leave our bags and like all of our clothes and like our garages for a couple days because i think like the cold even sometimes that doesn't work though yeah people have to spend like thousands of dollars if it gets into their house yeah it's disgusting okay weird question when you went to traverse city did you go to the beach uh that time yes no okay because i've seen like where people go to like the beach and they get like little like bites and stuff and yeah oh i think it's like bed bugs but it's really not no it was bed bugs then we dressed as bed bugs for halloween that next year at least you embraced it yeah i guess i was kind of weird looking back on it but we did she like fully embraced it like we had bedbugs yeah look at us we look just like them um but they're supposed to have the olympics
Starting point is 00:52:20 in paris yeah they said that it's not gonna harm the olympics but like they're getting it figured out before then they said like something like not going to harm the Olympics, but they're getting it figured out before then. They said something like, we're all going to band together and figure this out. To defeat the bad bug. But it's kind of widespread at this point. Well, that's what people were saying. It's traveling to London, too. You don't realize how much it
Starting point is 00:52:37 travels. Because it goes on planes. It goes in your bags. It goes in your itching. And it's on the... Yeah, I am. When I was... I'm not staying here for a night. No. You don't have them here it goes in your itching and it's on the yeah i am when i was i'm not staying here for a night no but you don't have them itching yeah i don't feel good about it i don't like it but you can like check your hotel room for bed bugs if you lift up the mattresses and you look in the seams you can generally tell but dead ass like if you were doing that and you saw something what would you do you'd leave
Starting point is 00:53:05 immediately i would literally i would be so scared i would find something i wouldn't want to look i've checked in some of our hotel rooms before yeah i'll check like in the mattresses when we go places you know what happened to me one time um kind of like bed bugs but supposedly um you can get these little like mites that are on clothing and so one time i ordered something from online and from online i don't want to say and i got it and i just wore it like it was new it was in the package whatever and it was the pants and right on the seam of the pants i got um i got like four little things like in a line like bites right where the seam of the pants would be so I looked it up and there's little mites that can live in clothes and if you
Starting point is 00:53:51 don't like wash your clothes before you wear them they can bite you and it literally caused like it hurt well that's scary yeah and so I just had to wait for it to go away too because I was like I don't know what this is and I then I started googling and i realized i had tried on pants and wore them for the first time without washing them and so like now i'm always terrified when i get stuff online to wash it every time now yes no i mean i try i try but like no because you know what it sucks washing jeans it just ruins the integrity of the jean yeah it does does. It's not crisp anymore. Yes. And so I hate doing it. But that's how I got it.
Starting point is 00:54:27 It was from like a jeans. So just be warned out there. Nobody's safe. Nobody is safe. Don't let the bed bugs bite. Yes. And people were saying that too. People were like, it's messed up because our parents really prepared us for this.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Like, sleep tight. Don't let them bite. And then it's like, why did they used to say that it was never a thing like they spoke it into now it's here now we have to do what the consequences um but yeah you went to paris yeah and what did you what was your time like no i don't think that there was. We just missed it. No, it was nice. We were there for four days. I think four days is a little long, in my opinion. The Eiffel Tower is certainly something to see, like, once in your lifetime.
Starting point is 00:55:14 Like, I'm definitely glad, like, we saw it. I don't know if I would go back just because there's so many places to travel to. Not that it wasn't good. Not that we weren't treated good i mean you know how they most people don't like americans but uh it's just facts it's a thing yeah it's it's a thing um but we did meet some really nice people like one of the coolest things we did is like we rented like a old um convertible mini car and this guy like drove us around the city and like showed us different things and like like a tour guide and like while we were in the
Starting point is 00:55:44 back seat they like give you like champagne so like we literally drank champagne in the back while he drove us and showed us everything so that's fun i feel like i would definitely like that did you smoke a cigarette um no but there's actually i've never had such a paris thing it is so like we were walking down because like you walk a lot there too um and there's like a lot of like i don't know everybody looks like kids to me but they were probably like 19 20 years old they have like smoking sections like on the sidewalk and like all these people are smoking like they're young like you could tell it's like outside of a school or like college or high school i don't know what yeah um but like
Starting point is 00:56:22 a lot we're like i feel like that's not like necessarily not a thing here. But I guess it's like kind of the equivalent to kids vaping now. Yeah. That makes sense. But it's actually funny because I always heard that like smoking in France was a thing. But did you ever watch Emily in Paris? Yeah. So in there, I'm pretty sure they all smoke. And it was kind of like the same thing. I realized I'm like, it's their, I think, version of vaping. Yeah. I mean, like we even went, we went to this really cool restaurant and it was like very, like, it felt like you were like in like a speakeasy, like very Persian vibes, like the upstairs, like they had live music while you
Starting point is 00:57:01 ate. And, um, it was really cool. cool like with balconies and stuff they have like a smoking parlor upstairs like by you go upstairs to go to the bathroom and like they have like this really like bless you bless you oh thank you like really cute room like with sofas and like lounges for you to literally smoke at like interesting what's like how we used to have smoking sections right yeah i mean there's a lot of places like cafes are open air there so like they just smoke and stuff but um it was like it looked cool and i don't even smoke and smoking's not you wanted to smoke so bad i want to go in this room like i mean i could but i took a picture that's cute yeah that's about the only thing cute about yeah i think it's somewhere i agree like you go you have to see it yeah right this one so i definitely want to um meet up and have been talking about it we've also been talking
Starting point is 00:57:50 about um tracy just went to like oktoberfest in germany and stuff and we're like damn we should really do that one time too she said it was a lot of fun um but yeah i've never been to europe so let me know when you want to go. It was actually funny because right before your honeymoon, I remember you saying to me, you're like, I kind of wish you were like going to come. Oh yeah, I did invite you on my honeymoon. And then Matt, we were like out to dinner and Matt like looked at me and he's like,
Starting point is 00:58:18 and he looked at you and he's like, what? It's our honeymoon. And I'm like, so? But we'll plan another trip. I'll go on your honeymoon. And I'm like, so? But we'll plan another trip. I'll go on your honeymoon. Crickets. Try again. All right.
Starting point is 00:58:32 So what's going on? What's this Jamie Lynn Spears situation? Yeah, I don't know why I wrote this, but I felt compelled to add this to our notes that Jamie Lynn Spears was the first star limited from Dancing with the Stars. And I'm just like is no one surprised i feel like she got so much backlash during the free britney movement of
Starting point is 00:58:51 down with jamie lynn spears and down with her dad and now she's did she think that the world was gonna change and love her maybe it's odd timing maybe it was like a redemption it feels too soon just like the zoe 101 reunion movie feels too soon i didn't even know that was happening yeah they did some kind of reunion movie and i just feel like it was yeah yeah it like came and went no i don't watch it i don't want to support it i don't want to support it i want to be a part of it but i guess everyone's been really nice about her being the first eliminated so that's good i know did you already talk about this what about the video going around of britney spears with the knives yes that's yeah i didn't see it the police were alarmed or somebody was
Starting point is 00:59:34 alarmed so um they came and they did a wellness check oh they did yeah so but she's okay um she's kind of pissed that people thought that she She's working on her second memoir. So that's what's going on with the Spears. What was she doing? Like hibachi? That's kind of like the joke that's been going around. Like, you know how she does her dances and her videos? She's doing that, but she has like two butcher knives in her hand.
Starting point is 00:59:59 The dancing wasn't enough shit to up the ante. But maybe she's trying to be spooky. That too. Oh, perfect time. I don't know. know i mean you wouldn't catch me dead you would you would actually catch me dead if i tried to do that yeah i would not um leave that to the professionals but people were like is she hibachi because she's all like oh man is that a word hibachi it's gotta be it's a verb now yeah now it is oh man that's uh that's kind of all the pop culture that's been
Starting point is 01:00:26 going on really so we're gonna read some spooky stories which you knew we did this last halloween season yeah so do you want to read one of the stories um sure okay i'll read the first one you read the second one okay i can do that okay all right this is exciting i love this season okay spooky story you should have dimmed the light no then i can't see oh yeah i could see i don't know man all right spooky story with just the candle that'd be nuts my spooky story took place in 2013 at my best friend's old house. It was a two-story house and I was there to spend the night. My friend had gone downstairs to ask her mom something and while she was downstairs I decided to play with her guitar. I got excited over a song I was freestyling
Starting point is 01:01:16 and decided to record myself so I could pick it up when I got home. While recording and playing I decided to get up and look around my friend's room for a guitar pick. I left my phone recording since I thought it would be quick, but it ended up not being able to find one. I decided to stop the video and continue looking. When I went to stop recording, my phone was extremely hot to the touch and even froze when I was trying to stop the video. I thought it was weird since I did have a newer phone, but it made a little bit more sense once I played the video back. When I played the video back, at first I laughed at myself, searching for the pic, but then I heard two small whispers very clearly. It sounded like two small children whispered directly into the mic of my phone.
Starting point is 01:01:58 The whispered said, stop that, you're going to get us in trouble, and let's go. After watching the video back, I ran downstairs to get us in trouble and let's go after watching the video back i ran downstairs to get my friend we tried to make sense of the video and my phone glitching but could not pin anything other than it being paranormal activity of maybe the ghosts of two children taking the energy from my phone i wish i could send the video over but after many years later and phone upgrades i've lost it i can still hear the whispers clearly and it always sends chills over my body let's go this is literally you're creepy as hell i felt like this was like what the story you told last year i told you i told the story about the record the
Starting point is 01:02:36 voice recorder this is like the same yeah it's nuts oh i don't like this. They say like ghosts can use like. Technology. Yeah. And like the freaking. That's what they do on like the ghost shows. And try to like pick all that up. But seriously this is like so similar to our voice recording thing. That happened with the dog. I don't like this at all.
Starting point is 01:02:58 That's spooky as fuck. It is really spooky. But I like. Sorry that happened to you. Literally. I know how you feel. It's wild. Is this triggering for you? Is it bringing you literally i know how you feel it's wild is this triggering for you is it yeah like are you okay yes i'm not okay yes i'm not okay but i would say this is like 10 out of 10 spooky i was gonna say nine tone i just think it's wild
Starting point is 01:03:17 that she was like oh yeah i had to ask her mom something and then i decided to go play guitar and like record myself doing the girl the The other person went to ask the mom. Oh, OK. That makes more sense. I thought she was like she left her friend and was like, oh, yeah, I'm going to go ask your mom something. And then was like, oh, here's a guitar. I'm going to try this out.
Starting point is 01:03:36 No, the friend went to that makes more sense. That's crazy. All right. Spooky story number two. All right. Well, then I'm just making sure i'm not going to be scared okay spooky story number two i haven't personally had anything spooky happen to me but my dad has a lot of stories so i decided to submit my favorite my dad worked his way through high school and college
Starting point is 01:04:05 as a line cook at McDonald's. He would always open the store before going to school, so he was up and at it by about 4.30, 5 o'clock a.m. In the kitchen, there was a large steel door leading out back that had a small square window near the top of the door. One morning when prepping food, my dad heard someone banging on the back door and he saw a hand waving in the window, as if asking to be let in. He opened the door and there was no one around. A few minutes later, he receives a phone call
Starting point is 01:04:36 from his parents telling him that his grandmother just passed away. To this day, my dad believes that the hand he saw waving in the window was his grandmother telling him goodbye yikes how spooky is that that's so spooky stuff like that happens i believe that the other night i actually went to go text matt and i did it like on my phone i was like text matt and it switched to text nana so i literally was like okay I'm gonna take this as a sign and so like our grandma passed away and I literally was like I love you like I don't even know yeah because I was like
Starting point is 01:05:12 I'm gonna take this as a sign because Matt and Nana are nothing alike at all no and so I was like okay I'll text them but no so stuff like that happens like they say like when you pass like when people pass their spirits on the way out can like make a presence to somebody if they want to it's almost comforting like it's spooky but it's like i think i told you like multiple things that happened to me after nana passed that was like i was you yeah and i would like it would be so realistic i would be like creeped out with her and be like but but it's also kind of cool. Yeah. You're like, she's talking to me. I actually told the story on the podcast last year.
Starting point is 01:05:51 I read it as like a spooky story. You used your own? Yes. And then I had people guess which one was mine and which one wasn't. And so that was one that I shared. Yeah. It's cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:02 It can happen. I know. It gives you like the heebie-jeebies but you're like in a good way in the best way it's like people like to be scared but you don't right yeah i'll watch a scary movie and like cover my eyes but i'm like i want to see you dude honestly one of the best things i think you could do if you want to watch a scary movie but you don't want to like jump is just plug your ears because that's what actually makes you jump. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:30 It's like not as scary when you are just like lower the volume. So it's like not as intense. Well, if you're like at the movies, I guess. But yeah, just lower the volume. I can't go to the movies and see them. It's too much. Isn't there like a new Saw movie out right now? Yes.
Starting point is 01:06:43 I can't do it. I saw the last new Saw movie and I had nightmares for like two weeks really it was terrifying remember the last one we used to see yeah we used to watch all of those like so religiously a lot of them yeah i feel like i missed yeah as children yeah i feel like we probably took you you did i was terrified as a child parents permission flip to take you i can't remember the last one i watched but i feel like it was like with the family it was creepy i don't recommend but go have fun i kind of want to catch up on all of them we're weird we want to we want to get spooked people like it they do i do no you know what I can't do anymore? On houses?
Starting point is 01:07:25 No, I never could. I never could make it through a haunted house. I tried one time, and they had, like, a metal foot hanging from the ceiling, and I whacked my head on it. And ever since then, I never went back. That's awful. But, no, I was going to say, any, like, scary movies about, like, Exorcist or Exorcist.
Starting point is 01:07:44 Oh, I can't do it. Those ones I can't do. But do but like other ones i can do but when it comes like paranormal stuff i feel like that's just bad energy man well i can do paranormal i just can't do yeah it depends on the level of paranormal but like that stuff i cannot do because i know on netflix they just had um they just had like a new one come out and everybody was raving about it was something about like a priest um going and doing exorcisms and whatever thank you and i heard so like such good things about it like everyone's like it's so good and i was like do not put that on my house you can enjoy that i literally told evan i was like if you don't put that on this house we're not bringing that here that energy does not need to be That's one thing I can't do anymore.
Starting point is 01:08:25 But I would say for this story, it's not like, it's spooky, but it's like happy spooky. Happy spooky. It's like a good spooky. So like maybe like five out of ten. Five out of ten? Yeah. Works for me. All right.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Shady or spooky story. Number three. Okay. So this is creepy AF and not really my story but i got the story from the from a friend about one of her friends so is it about 10 hours ago now a group of girls were on a girl's trip in amsterdam on their last night they ended up at a club it was late and everyone was drunk and one of the girls had hooked up with a random guy at the nightclub they were dancing and kissing for most of the night when the club was closing.
Starting point is 01:09:08 He was very eager to take them back to his place and she was totally up for it. But her friends were a little bit more sensible and begged her not to go. She agreed not to go back to the hotel and instead exchanged numbers with the guy. The next day, the girls returned home and went back to their normal lives. However, a few days later, the girl came ill and developed a nasty rash all around her mouth, throat, and face. She went to the doctors who hadn't seen a rash like that before, so referred her to a specialist at the hospital who took some bio samples. The following day, the hospital called the girl and told her to come back to the hospital for the results. When she got there, she entered the consultant's room and the doctor
Starting point is 01:09:50 was there with the police who were asking her if she'd been near or touched a dead body recently. The girl was clearly horrified and explained that she hadn't been and just came back from a girl's trip. After a lengthy interview with the police, they traced it back to a guy in Amsterdam via his phone number that he exchanged with the girl. The police over there raided his house and found multiple dead girls under the floorboards. The rash from the girl had gotten from bacteria
Starting point is 01:10:15 that she had caught kissing the guy that had been to I don't know how to pronounce this word. Necrophilia? Yeah, something not good. Needless to say, he was arrested and she was traumatized after some very strong medication. The bacterial rash cleared up.
Starting point is 01:10:32 That's fucking nuts. That could be a movie. That literally is a movie. That's terrifying. Isn't it? Like, what was he doing? Making out with the dead bodies? Like, oh.
Starting point is 01:10:42 Yeah, and she was about to be next if her friends weren't sensible that's so scary no thank you that's real life that genuinely traumatizes you for probably ever yeah she probably never hooked up with another guy at a club again yeah no after you get a rash like that all over your whole body but is she a hero because she probably saved like a lot of other lives yes she is a hero she is a hero for the team unfortunately i mean honestly though yeah like you said if that could have been her if her friends didn't stop her so that's that's good a lesson learned like i what lesson how often is this happening around here
Starting point is 01:11:23 i thought you were gonna say like the police are there and they were like that guy's been dead for a year that's what i thought when i was reading it like that guy doesn't exist that's actually like a walking ghost yeah it's him it's pete davidson out and about oh god yeah i would say that's um that's a 10 out of 10 for me yeah the highest level spooky yeah um well that that concludes it those were great spooky stories to start off the spooky season yeah i keep keep them coming in keep them coming and that concludes this episode thank you to elena for coming back on. We'll have you again. We love having you.
Starting point is 01:12:09 And we will see you guys on the bonus content. And we will see you next week. And we will see you getting some spooky merch soon. All right. Bye, everyone. Bye, everyone. Bye.
