Hello and welcome back to the podcast and welcome to the first spooky episode of the season.
So if you want to be absolutely terrified, stick around to the end to hear some spooky stories instead of shady stories.
And when I tell you that they are actually scary, I had to ask Britney.
30 years old, I have a child.
That's beside the point.
I had to ask Brittany to sleep over because Evan wasn't going to be home tonight.
And that's how terrified I was after.
specifically the last shady story.
So if you want to be just as terrified as me,
stick around to the end.
You have been warned.
Yes.
But yeah, it's October now.
And I swear to you, we were just talking about this.
The first day of fall and suddenly the weather changed.
Immediately freezing.
September.
Gone.
I feel like we're not even getting like a true fall weather, which like I suppose.
No, we're not.
I'm just going to come out and say it.
I.
love like a high 60s low 70s day and we got that for less than a week and now it is it's freezing.
I go to work in the morning and I'm like, do I need to pull out my winter jacket?
Yes.
Do I need to bring it out?
It went straight from like 90s to 45 degrees.
And my sinuses are going through it because of this.
I mean, to be fair, I feel like every fall in the Midwest we kind of all just like suffer and silence with our sinuses and allergies.
but this year specifically, I think my body has been in shock.
It's like, what's happening?
Is it winter?
The first half of this week, I'm like, what's going on?
Yeah.
I'm not preparing.
So that's what we've been dealing with in the Midwest over here.
And also, we've been dealing with the Lions win.
Hell yeah.
Great game.
We won.
We did.
We're happy about that.
I also won in fantasy this week.
So it was just like, we're looking good.
I won as well.
My first win in our girls league.
I'm in two leagues, but it was my first win.
And for you.
Hopefully not my last.
But my team isn't looking too hot.
You know, that's just typical.
I feel like, and maybe we said this last year,
but there's like so many injuries, I feel, that have occurred.
Correct.
That everyone's team has been dismantled by like week two.
I'm like, excuse me?
It's really bad.
I feel like we play each other.
If it's not this week, it's next week.
Oh my gosh.
And speaking of, this was random.
This is not something that I even wrote to.
or talk about, but I saw it today.
Ben Johnson was asked about...
Did you see this?
I actually, you know what?
I said to Brian after I saw this clip,
I go, here's the thing.
I have never really experienced, like, a true, like,
rivalry that boils my blood and, like,
eats me to my core.
And, like...
Keeps you up at night.
Keeps me up at night.
And I feel that way towards the bears.
I really genuinely, like, I don't like them as a team.
And the core reason behind that is Ben Johnson.
And I don't feel that way about, like, I don't feel that way about the Jeff.
Correct.
I mean, it is a little bit different.
So Ben Johnson was a coach for the Lions, and then he moved to the Bears, and now he's the head coach.
But this week, he was asked during press about not having a quarterback that will, like, run the ball, basically.
And he made some, like, snobber.
side remarks saying well I know exactly what that's like referring to working with Jared
Goff and everyone was pissed like they were like how could you say this like this is messed up but
supposedly Jared Goff went on Aminrah's podcast and said that it's all good he didn't mean anything
by it they talked about it and well that personally and like it's fine Jared's a class act
in Ben Johnson is not.
But, you know, it did get me thinking when I saw that.
It's like, in this day and age, if somebody in real life is telling you one thing, like,
oh, no, we're good, we're good.
But then going online and, like, basically shit talking you.
What?
You shit talking me under the table.
Yeah, like, what trumps what?
Because in that situation, like, obviously the public perception then is that you're talking bad
and you're not friends with this person.
Correct.
But then, like, low-key, you're like, oh, no, we're good, we're good.
It's like, no.
It's ridiculous.
No, pick one or the other and, like, stick to it.
Yeah, be a man of your word.
But Ben can't do that.
You know who wouldn't do that?
Aaron Glenn, our guy.
I thought you were going to say Campbell.
No, Dan Campbell would never.
Dan Campbell is a man of honor in loyalty.
I'll be interested to see now what, like, the press is this week,
because they're definitely going to get asked about that.
Oh, for sure.
Did you also see from this week's game?
I think my favorite highlight of the game was Jared blocking for Gibbs.
No, I didn't.
Have you seen the clips of it?
It's incredible.
The thing is I was watching the game, but really I was watching Elliott run in circles around.
He's training.
Just randomly a smithful.
He's inspired by the lions.
I don't know.
He was tackling the air because he was motivated by Dan.
He said, you know what?
I see Dan.
handle on the screen, I can run the roll.
Exactly. Love that for Elliott.
Biting his own kneecats.
But while we had a good week in sports, we also had a loss for Detroit this week.
I know. A bittersweet one.
Bitter sweet.
Justin Verlander retired from the Tigers.
And I saw the video.
That's how I kind of found out. I really didn't know he was retiring right now.
I didn't, I had an inkling only because my parents were going to the game.
And my mom knew, she's like, oh yeah, I think one of the players, like, one of the pitchers
might be retiring.
Oh my gosh.
And, like, I don't know why I didn't, like, connect the dots.
And I wasn't like Justin Verlander.
But I guess I just hadn't heard when that he was retiring this season until all the
videos, sorry.
Okay.
But it's such a thing, too, in sports where people will say they're retiring for a really
long time, then they actually don't.
Yeah, like Tom Brady.
I feel like I may have heard this, but then I was like, ah, it's.
probably we've got like five more years or something.
Yeah, yeah. So yeah, but it was the sweetest thing while he was doing his like last walk off.
His daughter ran out and like hugged him.
And dude, I was crying.
It was pure like just, I don't know, joy.
Joy on the screen.
Yeah.
Very, very, very sweet.
Sweet moment.
But yeah, this is his 21st season.
That's incredible.
Major League Baseball.
So what an accomplishment, truly.
Seriously, but I also thought it was funny.
So Justin Verlander is married to Kate Upton, which I feel like was a really big deal back
then.
They have two kids together.
It was huge.
It was such a big thing.
And you know what is interesting about that?
I will say is like, I feel like baseball wags isn't really a thing.
It's becoming a little more popular.
I started following some tigers wags as of recently.
Okay, but I feel like I don't really ever see.
I feel like when the wags are at the game.
for like NFL, you kind of know about it.
Like there's photos, there's walkouts, there's on the field's pictures.
And the NFL actually plays into it a little bit more.
Yeah.
Because they're like posting like family content and like getting the wipes a little bit
more involved.
And maybe we'll start to see that with the MLB a bit more.
But really I feel like it's like it's more like low key in the baseball.
Right.
Because like obviously Kate Upton is also a well-known figure just on her own.
Correct.
And before that.
But like I've never.
been to, we've been to multiple games, lots of games through our life.
And like, we've never been there and someone's been like, oh, Kate Upton's here.
Yeah.
But I feel like when we're at like an NFL game, it's like a thing where people be like, oh,
oh my gosh.
Do you're golf's wife's here?
The lion's wags are at Tin Roof right now.
They're about to go to the game and like we know about it.
Yes.
I feel like it's just plugged into the lion's wags a bit more.
Because I mean, I know I'm a bit of a fan.
Well, don't worry.
We won't be seeing her around anymore because.
in an interview after he retired.
She came out and said she's looking forward to not having to watch any more baseball games.
I was like, I won't say setback, but I was like surprised because I feel like we're in such a world of like media trained PR answers and you just wouldn't expect like, no, I don't want to watch it.
And I will talk about this like a little bit later when we're talking about the VMAs.
But I just feel like this was a big point of people watching the VMAs.
year was like nobody's like messy anymore nobody calls anyone out nobody says anything negative about
anyone else it's always like PR PR PR PR answer and when I saw this I was like wow it's kind of like a
breath of fresh air to hear somebody just be honest like about their feelings and who care like
that's her opinion if she doesn't want to whatever and also she's probably been to how many games
in the last so many years so I just
thought it was so funny for her to say that, but today's episode is brought to you by Quins.
You guys may have heard me talk about Quince before, and I feel like they've really nailed
those closet staples that you find yourself reaching for over and over again, which is exactly
what I want at this point. Give me something easy, comfortable that goes with everything, but still
makes me feel put together. I myself have their 100% European linen, wide-leg pants, and their
lightweight cotton cashmere sweater tea, and they're both exactly.
that. They're really good basics, but the quality of materials make them feel more elevated.
I can throw them on without having to put a ton of thought into an outfit, and I know I'm still
going to feel good in it. That's what I really like about Quinn's. They do it so well. They make
elevated everyday essentials using premium materials like Mongolian cashmere, organic cotton,
and premium stretch denim, without the crazy markup. Their 100% Mongolian cashmere sweaters
actually start at just $50.
And everything at Quince is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands.
And with Fall here, they have everything from down jackets, cashmere scarves, and gloves, to 14K gold jewelry, plus bedding, bath, kitchen, furniture, and so much more.
Find the fall pieces you'll reach for most at Quince.
Download the Quince app for app exclusive offers or go to Quince.com.

Now available in Canada and the UK too.
And when Quince asks where you heard about them, let them know it was just a little shady.
It's the best way to support the show.
Thank you to Quince for sponsoring today's episode.
Let's get into a little bit about the VMAs because while we're talking about it,
a lot of people were not happy with the BMAs this year.
No, they weren't.
I've seen so many comments and.
TikToks that they think it might have been it's last.
There may be no more VMAs.
I don't think it will because I think for them it's going to be one of the things like
all press is good press.
Yeah.
And I think that it got people talking just about it, like how bad it was, I guess.
Because in the past, honestly, I don't know that we've really talked all that much about
it in the past couple years or like if we have, it's been like some of the looks or we did
a red carpet, but like totally.
Nothing really happened there that made a moment.
Fade into the distance.
But now people are talking about it.
And so now will people tune in next year to see if it's boring or not?
Or like if whatever happens.
So it was also controversial to people that it was like the Madonna and Taylor Swift show.
It was like all about that.
Madonna had 13 nominations and won seven awards, including artists of the year.
and people were not too pleased with that.
No, and people were,
not to say they were calling the VMAs out
for any kind of like conspiracy,
but some people were implying that,
you know, how was Madonna out here
in, you know, the big 2026 beating out
Olivia Rodriguez, Sabrina Carpid,
not to it, because Madonna is obvious, she's huge.
But they were like,
I just feel like those fan bases are a little more like plugged in
and engaged into voting because it's fan voted awards.
So it didn't make sense.
They were like, how is she outvoting?
Outvoting like these like the pop girlies that like have armies right now
that are like maybe a little bit more of like the target audience for these types of awards.
But maybe they're not.
Maybe the VMAs still live with the elder millennials.
I don't I didn't even know it was fan voting but I have heard a lot of talk that the BMA's was like
Is it not? Did I just lie? I don't know. I'll look it up. Well no but people were saying that it's kind of like if you go
then they'll basically do something in return for you like if you're a big artist and that's where that conspiracy came in and also the Taylor Swift of it all because she won an award this year that was never a thing before.
before and people were saying that her team like pressured the VMAs to make this award up so that
she could win it.
Yeah.
And debut her new music video for Patient Zero using that.
It does seem pretty convenient.
And I did look it up.
Most of the M.
VMA awards are decided by a public fan vote, which honestly, I don't remember voting for the VMA.
Like I remember voting for Teen Choice Awards.
kids' choice awards, people's choice awards.
I don't remember voting for the VMAs.
And I feel like I used to be a very engaged voter of the award shows.
Do you still do with Dancing at the Stars, don't?
I vote every night.
Every night.
Oh my gosh, wait, that just reminded me.
I saw this TikTok and it was like my mom thinking she's voting for Giromo
dancing with the Stars.
and she kept resending it.
And because she wasn't getting the message back
that you've reached the max voting limit,
she just kept going.
She just kept going.
And then they realized she was like sending it to her coworker.
God.
No, wait, I saw this as well.
I saw this as well.
I would be mortified.
I have the number saved to vote for Dancing with the Stars
as Alfonso in my phone because he's one of the hosts.
But I do be, I'm out here voting.
My top pick right now is Connor Woods, so the surprise of nobody.
In Riley.
I will say.
Is it Connor Wood or Woods?
Now I feel like a fake fan.
Connor Wood.
I called him Connor Woods because I got nervous.
Like Elwood.
Yeah.
No, I love them.
That was in your mind.
Love him.
No, I was going to say this past week I actually did that.
You voted?
No, I was sending a picture.
I was trying to send it probably to you.
but for some reason it was i think you were trying to send something i was trying to send something to you
and i actually sent it to like one of those automated message i think it was like your door dash was delivered
or whatever i i did this and like it's fine like they don't i don't think anyone gets it no i did something
but i was so embarrassed because no what it was was we talked about this on the patreon bonus content
so if you want to go see that go see that we are decorating the halloween set that you see here
that's what we did on the patreon and like honestly just gossiped
but we were talking about we've been doing a lot of crafting, whatever.
I had to send myself like something that a design I made.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, and what it said was what the design that I sent myself was,
it said, let's get dirty because we're making like a dirty martini station for our friends' birthday.
Did you at least say happy birthday at the bottom of it?
Saving grace.
It said happy birthday at the bottom.
But I'm just like, I just started panicking.
I'm like, no one's going to see this, right?
Like, I'm just picturing, like, the door toash or getting this message, like, let's get dirty while they're delivering my food.
And I'm like, no.
I have two things.
One, I did this exact thing.
So I'm just scared already.
No, when I was at the Lions home opener, so this was, what, two weeks ago, I was texting two people.
I was texting my, my, like, pure bar boss about, I don't know, something that I was.
like posting like that week.
And then I was also texting my friend Liz because her now husband, they got married this
weekend, was at the game.
And I don't know.
We were just like really like using my phone Zoom.
I was like Brian, do you think you can like find him at the game?
And like within seconds he found dumb.
And so I went to send that picture to Liz and I sent it to my pure bar boss and my captain
was just like, we found him within seconds.
and mind you
lightly talked about
that I was at the game
and she's like my husband's there
and then she responds
but she goes you found my husband
I was like
oh my God
and then just like all of my responses
like I don't know
like I just like
if you accidentally were sending it
to her instead
and then I was like having to explain myself
to him or to her
and then because I think I sent two
I think I sent one
because until I realized it
I sent the one of dumb
And then I sent one of Dan Cam.
Like super zoomed in.
Super zoomed in because I was like, I love him.
She's probably like, are you okay?
She's probably like, oh my gosh.
But she giggled about it, I think.
And your dooredash conversation just reminded me I door dashed anti-Ns yesterday.
And Jesus brought me them.
So, Bernie sends me a screenshot.
And it says Jesus is bringing your antians.
I said, I made a good choice today.
And I'm like, wow, God wanted you to have those pretzels.
And I was questioning if I wanted them or not.
But then they showed up a little burnt.
Oh.
Yeah, so a lot of ups and downs for me, really.
It's a roller coaster over there.
So, yeah, back to the VMAs, a roller coaster, if you will, as well.
Yeah, Taylor Swift debuted her, Patient Zero, music video.
Heck yeah.
which a lot of people also...
I haven't watched it yet.
They were fine with the video, I think,
but just in general,
people were not too thrilled
with the four songs that were released.
They're not.
And honestly, I'm sick of their, you know,
negativity train, if you will.
It's just a lot of hate on any song
that's not, I think, feel like
so many of these so-called fans
within the fandom,
if she does not write
the most prolific,
lyrically, like, profound song.
They're like, her writing has gone to shit.
She can't write a good song.
Have you listened to the new song?
Some of, I mean.
Have you listened to Patient Zero?
Yeah.
First was Cleveland, which was involuntary against my will on TikTok.
And that, I will be honest, I wouldn't listen to again, willingly.
Fair?
I thought Babylon was fine.
Yeah.
And I, what was the other one?
In clouding?
In patient zero, I thought was fine.
Like, again, I'm not going to go listening to it or whatever, but I...
They're fine pop songs, yeah.
Catchy.
And then...
It's been stuck in my head all week.
What the heck is the other one that you just said?
In clouding.
Didn't listen to that.
That's fair.
And so, I don't know.
I mean, again, I feel like,
everybody has good and bad songs and everyone's just like expecting everybody this crazy masterpiece every time and like you're not every song is not for you
correct it's not supposed to and not every song is going to be this like in-depth like profound and i honestly i feel like some people just want like depressing song which i love a sad song love a sad playlist however she's going to have some songs
that are just like cheeky bops and that's okay she's gonna have some songs that aren't for you
that's okay she's gonna have other songs that are gonna be you're gonna listen to them and say wow
these lyrics are groundbreaking insane like so profound and I just think we all need to what's that
one theory that we talked about before like bean soup yeah yeah it's like not everything is
meant for you if you don't like it don't listen to it and it's not for you about you um but yeah
So that was a little messy that that came out around the same time.
People thought she invented her own rewards.
People didn't really love that.
So what if she did?
And then what was a little messy?
And I don't know if you saw this.
But Madonna and Sabrina went up for their collab.
And Madonna just randomly called out.
And like you could tell Sabrina didn't know that this was happening.
Madonna was like, yeah, I reached out to your team and no one responded for five days.
So then I had to DM you to get a response.
And Sabrina's like, I have a good team.
She's like, I have a good team and I just want everyone to know.
My team does respond to people.
Just sometimes the faster way is directly to me via DM.
But my team does respond.
I was like, she's out here defending her team in front of their peers.
Yeah.
I mean, because it doesn't make them look good.
But this is kind of what we're talking about, like being more messy.
This was kind of that.
She did it.
She did it.
This is what I know to be true about the VMAs.
This is where you do that.
This is where you bring the drama and she brought it.
So you know what for that?
I do applaud it.
Exactly.
Well, you know, the VMAs has been around for a long time.
People aren't sure if it's sticking around.
That was kind of the same way with this next pop culture phenomenon, American Horror Story.
Never watched.
Which is now on its 13th season.
Don't recommend if you.
you get scared over scary stuff, which is honestly me anymore.
Have you watched it?
I watched a season or two long, long, long time ago.
Like back in college or before then?
Younger?
Younger.
And I remember regretting it.
I shouldn't be surprised.
Honestly, I was more prone to watching scary stuff when I was younger.
You loved scary stuff when we were little.
No longer.
That was my only,
the only time I would watch scary movies
was with you.
I can actually, like, vividly remember
watching things like The Grudge for the first time
in, like, scary movies or, like, the Saw movies.
Yeah, I used to love scary movies.
Now I'm, like, not interested.
We, like, went to one for, like...
The season I specifically watched of this was in 2012.
Which one was it?
Because they're different every season.
The asylum one, which apparently gets like mixed reviews on like if people like that season or not.
Like a lot of people are like, that was one of my favorites and a lot of people like that was one of the worst.
I don't know.
Interesting.
I guess every season they, people have a different opinion on it.
And it's always like a different storyline.
I don't remember the ones all that I watched, but I do remember like watching that and being terrified.
So I haven't really revisited since.
But that is where I first learned of Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.
Peter Evans, if you will.
We do need to bring Peter Evans to the Halloween set.
Yes.
He's just been lost.
He's usually right here with me and I can creepily.
But you know what I'm remembering now?
What?
What?
Did he not okay?
Did it?
Oh my God.
Peter Evans.
Yeah, so he actually might be resting in peace somewhere.
Well, it's okay because crows have taken on like a new meeting for me.
Why?
Because they're like very significant.
in Game of Thrones.
Oh.
I don't remember.
You look at me like I'm going to remember stuff.
I want you to remember because it's, I feel like, I feel like Caddy Herring in, Katie Herring.
In Mean Girls, where she's like 90% of the time, like, I'm talking about Game of Thrones.
And the other 10% of time, I'm just hoping somebody else will bring it up.
So it'll give me an excuse to talk about it more.
That quote where she's like, I just want 90% of it.
of time I was talking about Regina.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay.
That's how I feel about Game of Thrones right now.
I'm sorry. And I just feel special. It's been so long. I literally forget.
But this is American Horror Story was one of those things back then. I feel like it was like
huge around that time. Cultural phenomenon. And that's when I got into it. But then I stopped
watching. That's where I learned Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters. And they're all back for this newest season.
It's like a crossover between a lot of the characters from all the past seasons.
I'm surprised they haven't done something like that.
I mean, maybe they haven't.
I just haven't seen it.
I think this is the first time they're doing it.
Smart.
Although this is not going to be their last season.
I thought maybe for their finale, that's kind of what they were doing.
But there's already a plan for season 14 to come back.
So if you're looking for something spooky, this isn't over yet.
And it started coming out.
I think they dropped like the first three episodes all at once.
and then now they're gradually doing it all through October,
which again,
love a good time spooky with the Halloween.
Not everyone always is.
I hate when Halloween movies are dropped in, like,
the middle of the summer.
Why?
Yeah.
They can go to DVD.
You couldn't be patient?
D.D.
Yeah, DVD in time for, like, Halloween.
I feel like that's what they used to do.
Focus, focus, like, came out in, like, the middle of summer.
Well, back then, that's fine.
But now we don't need to do all that.
I hate early time things.
But no.
this is what really made me bring this all up.
So Sarah Paulson recently said that Lana Winters from Asylum was one of her favorite
characters that she's played because she's in like every season.
Yeah.
With a different character.
And she like randomly was like she's never coming back and it's partly to do with Evan Peters.
And she's like, I won't elaborate, but that's going to cause drama.
And so I don't know what that.
actual situation is there, but I was like, oh my gosh, it's our guy, Peter Evans causing problems.
So, interestingly enough.
And then she also, like, started some other drama for people who watch American Horror
Story saying, like, she didn't care about one of the characters.
And again, you know what?
We were just saying people don't get messy anymore.
It was a very non-PR answer, and I kind of loved it.
Because she was just like, I don't like one of the characters, and I don't really care.
And anyone who disagrees can bite me.
I said this to, like, a person in real life this weekend.
What?
So I'll tell this story because it's fine.
We don't like ever tell stories like this.
I feel like.
Do it.
There was a girl.
So I was at a wedding this weekend.
And there was a girl there.
There was a couple people there from college.
And like I don't really see a lot of people from my college days too often.
And her and I, we weren't friends in college.
Her and one of my close best friends.
did not like each other over a boy situation.
Like this boy just like played the two of them.
So I of course was always going to take my friend.
Yeah.
My friend's side.
And so I didn't know this girl.
Never really interacted with her until like maybe the very end of like senior year.
And like she's fine now.
We're friendly now.
But again also like just don't really know or don't see her.
Like don't really even think about her.
And she at she she probably had to have like an hour long conversation with me.
and we were like hanging out and it was like fine like we were like being friends at this point
but she kept as her so she's like so she didn't like me in college and I go no I didn't and I was
like honest with every time I go I go listen I go and like because she kept asking me over and over like
she wanted your answer to change but but Britney I'm like I'm like I'm not a mean girl like and I go
no I know you're not a mean girl like I like you know I think I think you're cool like whatever I go
but I'm not going to lie to you like I'm not going to lie to you like I'm not going to lie to you like I'm
like why do you want me to lie and change my answer and say I like it's the past anyways like what's that
going to change and I was just like no and I go listen if I go to Instagram right now I don't think I follow you
because like I don't like you we follow each other now but like no but I go and go and this is just me
showing you like I'm telling you the truth I'm not lying and she goes I can really like really appreciate
but I think she was just so like,
I feel like maybe she's had this conversation
with other people and they're like,
no, we never had a problem.
Yeah.
And she couldn't fathom that.
I was like, no.
I, but like, I also feel like there's a point where
if you're asking somebody that you already know the answer.
Correct.
If you have to be like, you didn't like me, it's like, you know I didn't.
You didn't like me either.
Correct.
Like, come on.
I don't think I've ever really been in a situation like that.
I don't know.
But I don't know if in the moment.
and I probably would just give like a PR answer.
I'd probably be like, oh, no.
I wasn't given a PR answer.
I was like, I'm being honest.
I love that.
We're done with PR answers.
Uh-huh.
PR answers are over.
Exactly.
So, yeah, so that's what Sarah Paulson's been up to promoting the shows, causing a little
drama.
And as I mentioned, this was like a big crossover thing.
There was other crossover moment.
this past week between worlds and specifically between our world.
Our world.
Because we are Megan Maroni stands.
I wear my Megan Maroni loud nine hoodie at least once a week.
And the voice threw some shade.
I loved this so much.
One of their judges, Riley Green, by playing a Megan Maroney song after someone picked Kelly Clarkson over him.
because they supposedly rumors of them dating in the past
and she supposedly wrote a song about him
after things didn't work out between them.
Supposedly.
Supposedly, allegedly.
And so after he got rejected,
they started playing a Megan Moroney song.
It was so good.
And everyone was like, okay, love this.
Love whoever was DJing and queued that up.
I didn't realize that he's a coach on the voice.
Honestly, I would have not known if it
weren't for the viral clips I've seen of the...
Yeah.
So it's Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green.
Yep.
And so somebody picked Kelly over him, which...
Just on the surface, though, like, if you didn't know the lore, which, like, we obviously
would have picked Kelly over him just because...
Correct.
However, I feel like in general, you would pick somebody with, like, all this experience
doing this, because this isn't Kelly Clarkson's first time.
This ain't her first rodeo.
And this is his.
So I feel like, in...
So I feel like just in general that makes sense, like no shade.
But yeah, so there was like a crossover between worlds there.
And we love when people get a little messy.
So messy, it's almost spooky, but not as spooky as Hidden Valley's new ranch dressing.
I don't know if I'm going to eat this.
I feel like I want to in like the spirit of spookiness.
and I do love ranch, specifically Hidden Valley Ranch.
However, I feel like it might be tough to bring myself to eat the spooky rink.
Well, supposedly it's made from fruit juice and cocoa powder that makes the ranch black.
But then I feel like wouldn't that change the taste?
It's got to.
There's no way.
And so, like, with that being said, I don't know if I'll try it.
Maybe if you try it first, then I'll try it.
but I'm pretty sure this is the first time that they've ever done any kind of like seasonal product with Rant.
Yeah, I feel like I've never seen anything.
We love Ranch.
Yeah, we would have known.
Apparently, the bottle is also glow in the dark.
I love that for them.
I guess, but like who's eating Ranch in the Dark?
Me.
Late nights, of course.
It makes sense.
Why aren't I now question why are all bottles?
It's a 12-ounce,
limited edition sold exclusively at Walmart.
So while supplies last.
I'll look for it. I'll look for it this weekend.
Well, I don't know. It is kind of spooky.
But let's get into some real spookiness.
I'm scared. I haven't read these yet.
I haven't read these yet.
Starting with spooky story number one.
So my family has been living in the same house for over 20 years.
Never once that I know of have we ever opened up the attic.
Now, my house is old, so it's always been pretty spooky.
Hearing footsteps when you're home alone or thinking you're hearing someone calling your name,
there's no one else there.
Well, about two months ago, my dad decided to remodel the rooms upstairs that included the attic.
It was opened up for the first time, and he and my brother-in-law found a really old clock
that dates back to the 1800s, along with some old books and other stuff.
Well, after moving that clock out of there, weird things started happening more often in my house.
My brother-in-law was working in the room upstairs at night by himself, and his lamp kept shutting off.
He got weirded out a bit, but thought nothing of it.
Then, when he placed it back on the floor, it slid towards the door as if someone had pulled the cord.
He got so freaked out, he ran out of the house and didn't come back until morning, which I found kind of funny considering he's a pretty tough guy.
My little sister had some weird experiences too with things being moved around in her room.
And one time when she was alone in her room, she heard loud footsteps as if someone was right
next to her bed. She got so scared she literally had a panic attack and cried and refused to sleep in her room.
I thought everything was kind of cool because I've always been into the spooky and paranormal
until one night I was sleeping and I had a bad dream. In my dream, I felt like someone was sitting on the
edge of my bed just watching me. I had woken up and thought it was my nephew and I was confused and I said,
hey, buddy, what are you doing here? Go back to bed. And a deep voice responded, nothing, I like watching
you sleep. And then I felt something grab my leg and I woke up and I yelled, no. That freaked me out
badly. I said a prayer and then forced myself to go back to bed so I wouldn't panic. Until the next morning,
when I woke up and I noticed I had a bruise on my leg in the shape of fingerprints.
I kept telling my mom something wasn't right because although we've experienced it before,
it's never been to this point where it's literally terrifying.
So she decided to get some holy water to spray around the house.
The clock is going to be sold soon, but I honestly feel like we woke something up because
ever since we found it, I've also been dealing with a lot of health problems, which has never
happened before.
I'm 26 and relatively healthy person.
My health decline literally from one day to the next.
Something weird is going on, and I'm hoping once the clock is gone, everything will go back to normal.
No, you got to put the clock back where it came from and seal up the attic and pretend you never went up there.
That's what I'm saying.
Like, I know sometimes we joke about, like, the one room that was an attic.
I'm like, we think we heard, like, a ghost or whatever.
Oh, no.
We did.
But, well, we did.
But I'm just saying, like, at least it was like.
we didn't go into that area.
Correct.
No.
If you...
No, we didn't move anything or...
And that's where things get messed up.
It's like you fix them off.
You disrupt things and then they disrupt you.
Yeah.
And this, I fear, is that thing.
Honestly, you should consider putting that clock in like one of those paranormal museums.
No, you should.
Yeah, I don't like that.
But no.
And this thing about, like, getting sick is so really.
I just saw an interview from Joey King
because she was in shoot and how much
like one of the conjuring movies
like when she was really young
and she got really sick on the set
and like to the point where like
it was bad like like not good
like whole thing.
I don't remember all the details
and then once she was done filming
that movie like
she was better never dealt with like these like weird
health complication and it was like something that was like
very specific. It wasn't like
oh you know she had a cold or
whatever it was like it was like a specific i want to say it like a specific disease that they were like
no you have this and like it's not good i don't yeah we'll maybe we'll maybe watch the video after
i feel like and this is something that like is so screwed up but it kind of is unlike scary movies
that i've seen too but it's like when you're in like a vulnerable state where you're already like
kind of thinking bad things yeah i feel like that's when those
things start happening or like yeah negative spirits like attached to negative vibes yeah like negative
energy yeah like feed off it or like how they say like if people are like passing away they'll like start
to like see things or whatever it's like they can like sense that this is about to happen so it's like
their moment to like try to like make themselves present or like and i feel like in in this situation it's kind of like
Like, okay, you guys were all creeped out and scared.
So like there's negative vibes.
And now like this is the chance to kind of like come into the situation.
I don't know.
It creeps me out so badly.
It's so eerie.
But like hopefully when the clock is gone, you guys are fine.
I just personally wouldn't do it.
Perhaps we're all set on this renovation or maybe we sell the house because of these renovations are so nice.
And someone else wants it.
Somebody else's problem. Shady's story number two.
My son was maybe three years old and we were at home one evening watching TV.
He asked me if he could go upstairs to play with a man in a blue shirt.
I made him repeat himself because it was just us.
No one else lived with us.
I had asked him what the man and him did upstairs and he said they played cars together.
I was a little creeped out and I made him stay next to me.
The next day I was telling someone about what he said
and they told me to have him describe the man
and so I did. I asked him about his color hair,
glasses, no glasses, and clothes.
The man had gray hair, big glasses
and was wearing a blue sweatshirt in white pants.
He described my uncle who had passed away
and my uncle loved my son.
His wife had him buried in his favorite periwinkle
I always teased him that it looked a little bit more blue
and he'd fire back that it was periwinkle
in whitish-grayish sweatpants.
My son didn't attend the funeral.
He was too young when my uncle passed away.
A few weeks later my son started crying and saying
that there was a lady in a pink shirt
with a mean dog in his room.
Of course again, I asked him to describe the lady.
He described my aunt who was buried in a pink shirt.
He was a baby when she passed.
she had always had a mean-looking dog, like a Doberman or a wilder, but they were the sweetest dogs.
That's wild.
I feel like in that situation, part of you wants to be like, oh, that's sweet.
Like they're visiting.
But then also part of me is like, no thank you.
Yeah, like, let's not.
Especially with the kids too.
Like, don't interfere with the children.
Correct.
But it also makes you wonder, because, like, obviously kids say, like, they have imaginary friends.
Right.
Sometimes.
But, like, how do you get that spot?
It can't be if it's that spot on.
Or is it always, like, something like this?
No, there's no way it's a coincidence.
No way it's a coincidence.
Spooky.
I don't know if I'd love them playing.
It is interesting, though, because, like, I feel like I never had imaginary friends.
Same.
But that's what I'm saying.
It's, like, do you think that every thing?
time my kid thinks they have an imaginary friend, like, are we just calling at that so we feel better?
And like, really, it could be something more spooky.
I don't know.
I'm telling you one thing right now.
I'm hoping Elliot doesn't have any imaginary friends.
No, we're cooked.
Not a lot.
That's not happening.
Okay.
And now to Shady Story number three, which is the one that really freaked me out.
I'm scared.
And it's not a ghost story.
Okay.
Getting into spooky story number three.
Hey there, it's not really a ghost story, but something that completely creeped me out to this day,
and I know I wasn't dreaming. I think I was like eight or nine years old at the time.
I went to the toilet in the middle of the night, and when I came out, my mother was just standing there,
staring at me, straight in the eyes, and she grabbed me by the neck and tossed me into the bed.
We were sleeping in the same room. I was screaming like I've never screamed before,
and the next thing I know, I wake up in the morning, so I thought I just had a bad dream or something,
until my sister asked me why I was screaming in the middle of the night.
My mother didn't say a word, though.
It traumatized me to the point where I started wetting the bed again
because I was too scared to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night,
and that lasted for over a year.
This freaked me out to my core, and I have the chills right now,
because this was one of those situations where it's, like, in a scary movie
where, remember that mother, whatever that preview was before the Odyssey?
It's like not the mom, but it's like a not-the-mom,
but it looks like the mom,
and she's actually,
like, possessed, creepy.
Anyways, this freaked me out.
Was that, was the commercial before The Odyssey?
Yes.
Yeah, I closed my eyes.
So that was, like, basically,
I never saw the movie,
but the commercial was basically insane meaning.
There was a mom,
but it looks just like the mom,
but it's not.
And is, like,
trying to get the kid to,
Uh-uh. Uh-uh.
Yeah.
So anyways, this situation remind me of that.
But it kind of also reminded me, like, was the mom kind of going through her own spooky situation?
And, like, kind of like a dream where the guy thought he had a dream, but then it wasn't really a dream.
Was the mom kind of going through her own spooky situation?
Maybe she was in a dark time.
I hate it.
I hate it happened.
I don't know.
I just pictured the mom standing there staring and then grabbing the kid and throwing the kid.
I can visualize it.
I don't like that.
I don't like that.
And that's why Brittany is sleeping over tonight.
Here I am.
Because I refuse to be alone after that.
Record Ralph on TV.
That's fine.
And for, again, this is one of those situations where I'm like, I would actually sleep with the TV on today.
Although I never do because I'm that freaked out by that.
I always do.
Especially after things that spooked me.
Yeah.
So this was one of those that was very spooky.
I'm sorry that happened to you.
That is traumatizing.
And it's also like,
that was a story too that reminded me of like kids always are like,
there's a monster under.
Elliot's got to cool it when like that time comes.
Dude, when that time comes, it's like,
I believe you, man, getting this bed with us.
Like, we're not screwing around.
Yeah.
Well, no.
No one ever believed us when we said we heard noises coming from the closet in the attic.
No, but also like, do you think it is a different?
defense mechanism with the imaginary friend thing it's like do you think parents mind kind of goes
there like because I know mine will but then to calm your kids down you obviously have to be like
no no it's it's not so I feel like that's just like a parent's defense mechanism to not also scare
their kid or to like feed into their kids yeah you're right you're right except but like I won't
you seen I won't be the one that like forces them to stay in the room no no no like and my parents
didn't do that either.
But like, I feel like some parents do.
They're like, no, you need to stay in there.
It's not real.
Like, nothing, you know, nothing happened.
No, but in that specific instance of where we heard the noise, it's wild that we
both, like, vividly remember this because, like, I can vividly, like, I can, like,
picture you, like, you and I standing in, like, the exact spots.
But it was Nate that I think we went and got.
Great.
And he was probably like, oh, yeah, it's real.
Yeah, it's really.
Yeah.
scared.
Yeah, no.
Better go hide.
I feel like it is just like a defense mechanism parents have because they're like,
they don't want to scare their kids.
And have you seen the TikToks of the people who are like,
I saw a monster last night?
I was so scared.
And it was like me remembering how I went to the room and like did the red light mask on.
Oh my gosh.
Or like a face mask or something.
And they like went in to like check on their kid.
Yeah, the mom's coming to check with the all their skin care on.
Yeah.
they think it's a monster.
Yeah.
Yeah, no.
That's definitely,
I wouldn't do that to my kid.
Uh-uh.
No.
No, because that would scar them.
Oh, man.
Yeah, so that's this week's
spooky episode to start the season.
If those stories and scare you,
I don't know what will because that creeped me out.
And by the way, I only went through,
like, we got a lot of submissions,
over 100 submissions,
scary stories spooky stories yeah so i only went through the first three and they were all um top
tier top tier so terrified to see what else is out there looking forward to sharing them with you guys
so we can all be scared together um but until then we'll see you the next one hi everyone bye
