Starting point is 00:00:03 Hello and welcome back to the podcast. It is Easter week this week. So we will talk a little bit about our plans for this week and also some stuff fresh on the mind because we recorded a day late this week. So hopefully nothing that exciting happens after like normal. We have one day leeway that we normally don't get. So hopefully everything exciting that's going on this week already happened. and we'll be talking about it. So, yeah, starting with Easter week,
Starting point is 00:00:37 I took Elliot to see the Easter Bunny. And how did Elliot do with the Easter Bunny? He was definitely skeptical. He's getting to the age where he's like skeptical of, I don't know, everything. Yeah. But he was still happy. Obviously, we know he was chill and happy as long as we didn't leave him alone, which I think that was our mistake when we saw Santa.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Right. And so we learned our lesson. and we just, I held him the whole time, so he was just like looking at it. But I'm going to be honest. Personally, I'm scared of the Easter Bunny. I was going to say the Easter Bunny, when y'all visited him, seemed a little, a little spooky. So you have to imagine that, like, I don't know, in my head at least, I think of every scary movie. And I'm like, anyone who's willing to, like, put on, like, the full suit like that could be a killer.
Starting point is 00:01:29 And, like, you have to be on the lookout at all times. Right. And specifically, this Easter Bunny was doing a lot, like, moving around, like, posing for all the pictures. And one would probably say, like, wow, that's a really good job. And, like, he was doing a good job. He or she, because I have no clue. Right. But I took it as a threat, honestly.
Starting point is 00:01:52 And so I got it and got out. Where I thought you were going. Well, also, it seemed like the setup was set up for the Easter. your bunny to just kind of hang out in the background and for families to sit on a bench and like do their own thing which i feel like is an appropriate choice basically yeah that is what it was um but i just didn't love i don't know what it is i think it's the eyes of the bunny every time that freak you out like it's something sinister in there um but to be fair that also reminds me i don't know why but lately one of my things with elliot is doing that noise that you remember the grudge
Starting point is 00:02:28 Yes, don't. Stop. Anyways. We watched that movie. Way too young. At a very young age. And I don't even remember where we were because we were out of town, I feel like, when we watched it. We were literally out of town.
Starting point is 00:02:41 And I vividly remember, like, we had, like, multiple beds in one room. And we were all, like, we have to sleep in the same bed. We were terrified. Where were we? Were we in Florida? I don't know. I think it might have been Florida. I think it was Florida.
Starting point is 00:02:53 I think it was Florida because I distinctly remember that hotel where we, like, had, like, it was literally like camp for us yes all the bet's in one yeah well we were still terrified even all of us being together anyways for some reason i started doing that noise with him and like then i pretend like i'm gonna eat him up or whatever but anyways um and like it's funny too because now he's doing it back to me and i'm like is it scaring you no but i'm like it's all fun in games until like he does this to me in the middle of the night and then i'm gonna be like not no not this is not a nighttime action No, but I'm terrified now. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Anyways, that was our, that was really what we're doing for Easter. We're all getting together and having, like, dinner also, but, like, that was really the exciting part because... Right. You know what I mean? I don't know. Yeah. Last year, Elliot was alive on Easter. Which is crazy to think about.
Starting point is 00:03:46 That was, like, that was his second holiday, because he was also alive for St. Patrick's Day last year. Yes. Which was, it's just crazy that this is... His second Easter. But he was so little last year. Even this year, we really, like, it's not like he could egg hunt or anything, because, like, I don't trust him to, like, not try to eat the entire egg at this point, but. Right. Joking hazard.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Correct. Anyways, but we still had fun. We had fun, at least. But, yeah, that was our Easter. Are you doing anything? We're going to Brian's family's house. I just having, like, dinner, brunch. Yeah, brunching now.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I feel like Easter kind of is, like, a brunch holiday. Is that weird? No, it does feel very brunch. feels like very brunch, very, um. Like people go to church and then they have like brunch. Yeah. And I say brunch and I don't think we've ever had brunch at Brian's house for Easter. I just feel like it's an earlier dinner.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Maybe that's what it is. It's different than like other holidays. Like with my family, well, typically we'll do like with my side of the family. We'll do dinner Saturday night like before Easter have Easter breakfast with my parents and my brother. And then we go. but we're not doing it. We're doing it a little scaled back this year. Just a lot going on, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:03 But yeah, speaking of a lot going on, the day we're recording this podcast, Artemis II took some astronauts to the moon. Which crazy day to do this on because as this happened, it's April Fool's Day and they decided no perfect day like today to send a bird to the moon.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Bad juju. But, dude, I feel like we haven't talked about space, aliens, the moon in a few seasons. Like, I don't know. It's been away from our roots. And I'm going to be honest, though. Like, I was looking into this and I'm still so fully confused. And, like, this is going to sound so stupid. I'm well aware.
Starting point is 00:05:44 But, like, I can't fathom. To me, like, when supposedly we went to the moon, you know, in, like, 1969. Yeah. Allegedly. Allegedly. And the astronaut, to me, this is what occurs. We say allegedly, but I'm pretty sure it's technically a fact. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:06:00 And so in my mind, like this astronaut gets dropped on the moon. And then like it's like a circle, like a ball. And they're just like walking around on top of the ball. Okay. Similar to what you would do here. I can't tell you the comparison in sizes between Earth and the Moon. Okay. But what I was going to say is when you go to Earth, you don't land on the surface.
Starting point is 00:06:23 What do you mean? Yes, you do. aren't you like in it bro i knew you were going to bring this up because you told me this as children too and i knew you were wrong then because you said you brought this up to me way young in our age and if this is stuck with me okay so i knew this is where you were going with this you yes we're not inside the earth you know what's inside the earth soil okay and um tectonic plates and like when you look at the ball floating in space like we're not on top of it correct we are So like, how don't we fall on?
Starting point is 00:06:56 Gravity. You said this when we were younger, too, and you know what your thought process was then? Was like, how did the planes get up? How did they get outside? Yeah. Okay, so I'm so right. No, you're not. So when we're in a plane, we're floating around the, we're in the space, almost, but we haven't gotten outside of the gravitational pull, is my understanding.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I understand. I understand. This is a crazy thing coming from. I'm such an educated person I would like to think. You are on. I can't fathom me. I'm not going to say you're smarter than me, but like when it comes to book smarts, you would think this was, this would be in that realm of smarts that I have.
Starting point is 00:07:35 But for whatever reason, I don't. Where do you think we are? I don't know. In here? Like, I feel like there's like a layer that we're like in. There's a layer of like gravity holding us in. But like if you're looking at the globe and you see the green, we're standing on top of that. Why can't you see anything?
Starting point is 00:07:54 from space then like what like people yes well honestly that's a good point because when people are on the moon you're just taking pictures of them on the moon and like you can see the space it's a very fair point however you see the sky i don't think that the moon has a sky like we have a sky what does it have um space okay so we're in space too why do we have i think the moon's smaller that's fair then that's a fair question for me to ask because why are we let me ask some questions here but i anyways we are not inside the earth this was a rant that i you knew i shouldn't go on but let where did you think the rocket was going through breaking through some kind of like soil barrier not soil but like in my mind there's like i don't know which i know it's the atmosphere you're talking about this right
Starting point is 00:08:46 know because it's something that really bothers me and I think I wouldn't I think I would fully understand it and be able to rationalize I know but like why are we looking up at like the sun the sky the whatever but like on the moon which is way deeper into space yeah but in the stars we see the stars we're just farther away and like when they're taking those pictures they're in it like why are we then in it I don't think I'm I will stand on business with this I don't think the moon has a sky or maybe just nighttime when they're there. What does the moon's moon see? I'm going to have a panic attack in about five seconds because now I'm really conceptualizing space.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yes. Like, what's the moon's moon? Like, does the moon have a moon? Does the moon have a sun? I just don't fully understand it. And I understand that like that's ignorant and I could research it. But I don't care. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:09:43 In my mind, I don't know if I want to understand it because I, I think it would make me feel like a speck of dust. I have answers from chat. Chat said, short answer, not like the Earth does, basically new. No. Does the moon have a sky? The moon doesn't have a real atmosphere. No atmosphere equals no blue sky, no clouds or weather.
Starting point is 00:10:06 So instead of a blue sky astronaut, see a completely black sky, even when the sun is shining, because they don't have atmosphere. Okay, so if they don't have atmosphere, wouldn't you specifically see the sun? No. Why? Because the sun is in space. That's what on the earth, the sky is blue because of, I've never heard of this term before. We don't have. Raleighly scattering.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Sunlight hits air molecules and the blue light scatters and that gives the blue sky look. On the moon, there's no air to, oh, you think about that. There's no air on the moon either. I feel like if we want to. wanted better comparisons. I hear Earth is most like Mars. Great. Well, apparently this whole journey is a step in the exploration to figure out if you can have life on the moon. What? Yeah, so basically this trip is the Artemis II trip where they're having astronauts actually man the ship and go. The first one, they had no astronauts. And they had no astronauts. And they
Starting point is 00:11:17 just sent it up and had it do like the trip to make sure that it was doable and then eventually they plan on landing on the moon which I think is going to be like the Artemis 3 trip um and that's supposed to happen in like 2028 I think also on April Fool's Day because I just think that's a really random day to select at this point and who knew about this beforehand or they're just like messing with us again and just being like you should all a joke it's all not true it's all a conspiracy i don't know i still fully can't grasp the entire thing i understand that that probably sounds really no it's a fair thing because i watched some live streams of this and it was kind of sketchy it kind of looked like a i kind of looked like somebody just drew a picture of a spaceship floating through the sky and
Starting point is 00:12:14 who's to say they didn't could have been april fools Um, well, this also kind of stressed me out because that it made me think about the last time we were really talking about the moon and space and all that was when they had the failed trip that was supposed to be like an eight day trip. And they got stuck there. And they got stuck there for like nine months. Yeah. And this is also supposed to be like a really short trip, but I'm like, what if they get stuck? So like a 10 day trip? Is that what we're talking?
Starting point is 00:12:44 A week? Yes. I think it's a 10-day trip. But this is also supposedly way more sketchy than that, too. So it's like if that went wrong, why are we doing this? Because apparently the ISS, which is like the International Space Station, is where the other two astronauts got stuck in space the last time because they were just going there.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And apparently that was much safer because it was much closer. And the moon is in like deep space. also with that trip, with the ISS trip that they actually got stuck on, they are only a few hours away from like a safe landing on Earth, whereas like this one, it takes like three days to get back to Earth if something goes wrong. This is giving me so much anxiety for like the loved ones of the astronauts in space. Like imagine somebody you knew and loved was going to space. I fear I would need to be sedated for the entirety of the trip.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Like, picture Evan going to space. Evan's an astronaut. No. I wouldn't, I simply wouldn't have gone that route, yeah. Because I wouldn't be able to handle it. But no, but all I will say, though, is the one woman, I believe Sunni, who was stuck in space, ended up retiring this year. Yeah, and as, as they should.
Starting point is 00:14:13 no way in hell am I risking my life in spending nine months of time stranded in space, probably not knowing if they're ever coming home realistically. Like, I feel like we were relatively calm
Starting point is 00:14:27 on Earth. Well, I feel like people were maybe panicked for a minute and I'm sure the people that knew them were a little panicked. But I feel like behind closed doors were they telling them like,
Starting point is 00:14:35 oh, it's fine? Or were they saying like, we might not figure this out? I feel like they knew before they went that like if things go wrong, this could happen, but like once it went wrong, I think they were like, holy shit. Shit, that's actually happening.
Starting point is 00:14:49 See? But yeah, and also we talked about when we brought this up seasons ago. What? Did I say they like should sue their company? Yeah. Well, I don't think, I mean, they probably can't. No. But no, we talked about like the repercussions of like even just being on like the ISS for that long.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Like your bones start to like weekend because of like the exposure, all that. in deep space like if something goes wrong you're done it's really bad yeah have you ever seen endgame not good no not good Tony stark was almost done so dang that's deep space we're got um yeah but anyways this is living in my mind i'll probably dream about this and i don't want to it will i probably will as well and i'm not looking forward to it because i i'm sure i'm not alone in this moment we're feeling like okay if I think about the fact that we are on a floating rock for a minute longer
Starting point is 00:15:49 I simply can't accept it I cannot accept I know that it is but I can't accept it and I still like when you see the earth and there's people on earth and you take a picture of people on earth it's not just space it's because we have the atmosphere I understand but the fact that on the moon it's just like I just feel like you could just walk to the edge and jump off. You can because there's no gravity.
Starting point is 00:16:16 No, there is gravity, but it's like one-sixth of what we have. Yeah, you can jump really high. Yes, but you can't just like, how do you get there too? Okay, but that's the same thing as I can't believe we're even doing this because people are going to listen and be like, are you guys okay? No, because I don't think we're alone. I think we're in the majority in this conversation. We're not all astronauts.
Starting point is 00:16:37 True. we're just podcasters um no because like the same thing with flat earthers so like everyone was like oh like the earth is flat or like you could jump off or whatever like i still don't fully understand okay like if if we are on the outside of this ball that's floating around we're on the outside of the ball like how can't you just fall off like if you could fall off the moon then you could fall off earth like it's the same situation like how you can't like right different but i just feel like This astronaut could like prance over to the edge of the moon and just like, see ya.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Never come back. And like here you can't. That's a risk on the moon. We don't have those kinds of risks here. I just can't fathom how the two things could be like this. I know they're not the same, but like I can't fathom that we're not just like on the top of it. Like do to do to do. That's where we are.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Run. We're standing on Earth. No. Yes. No. I had a dream once. Bernie, if we were standing on Earth, we would still be, we're not enclosed in something.
Starting point is 00:17:46 We're not enclosed in something. How is it not like this then? What do you mean? Like how is there not like an edge that like is around? There are round edges, but there's, Earth is so big that. No. Yes, it's huge.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Like we can't even contempt. I want to see it. You need to like look the next time you're on a plane ride at I think there's a view where you can like zoom out and you see your plane and it kind of like goes like this. No. I don't want to. I simply will not accept it. Anyways, that's what we're thinking about today. Oh my dream.
Starting point is 00:18:34 I had a nightmare once about gravity. What? And in said dream, I was in my parents living room. I was watching the news. You weren't there. Tracy was there in my dream. We were watching the news and they were saying, the news report were saying, yep.
Starting point is 00:18:54 In the next few minutes, folks, we're going to be spinning out of gravity in an earth. You just saw like a wide shot of Earth like tumbling out of like our spot. And then we slowly started to be. What is our spot? Where we're at in the, um, yeah, the solar system. Galaxy. I knew that one.
Starting point is 00:19:15 And then we started floating up to the ceiling of the living room and then I woke up. Great. We tried to hold hands. Did it work? No. And then I woke up. But it was really scary. It's very, it's all.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I have flashbacks to that. It's all very stressful to me. And it's like, I don't know. It feels like where are we? going. Are we really going to end up on the moon? I'm not going to the moon. I'm going to stay right here inside the earth. So that we can watch things like the Hannah Montana special, which also happened this week. Honestly, no. I watched half of it on Friday. Did you like it? Um, I, I did. I feel like I went into it with, I mean, initially I had
Starting point is 00:20:07 very high expectations for it, but I feel like my expectations were lowered based on, because this came out mid last week. They were lowered based off of people's reviews of it. People were saying it was like a little choppy. It was a little all over the place. I thought it was okay. I don't think we necessarily learned anything that we didn't already know, at least in like the first half. But I thought it was cool. Her mom and Myel and her mom were going through the Hannah closet and walking through the set.
Starting point is 00:20:36 and it was very nostalgic. So from what I watched, I thought it was, I thought it was pretty good. I feel like a lot of people did say, like, from what I saw that, like, it was nostalgic, but, like, you said you don't really learn anything new. Right. A lot of the, like, original major cast didn't come back. So, like, they were disappointed in that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:55 It felt like some awkward moments, like, going on. Yeah, it was a little, the way in which they structured it because it was basically, like, an interview and then it would cut to like not B-roll but like other footage of them like going through the house or going through the closet and so like it skipped around a bit which I'm sure was intentional to like keep viewers attention span by making it a little choppy but I just don't think it like had like a chronological flow to it a lot of people yeah and a lot of people said it focused more on like Miley specifics yeah recollection of everything and not like the broader thing or like specifically like anything with Hannah like stuff like that like people expected more because like Miley has done plenty of interviews over like yes exactly the last multiple years but with that also Miley ended up winning an I heart radio um innovator innovator award after the special which was like a big honor um for like her 20 year career of like evolution impact, which is also crazy that is like 20 years. It's just I don't like to think about that.
Starting point is 00:22:11 But yeah, so that was another positive for her. And then not, I won't say not so great, but another thing that happened this week that I feel like wasn't received as well. Also was the Alex Earle Newskin, Caroline, that came out. People are giving it very, I'm seeing very mixed audience perception. I won't even say reviews because I'm not entirely I it has launched now but I don't think that people have received their packages just it I think PR has gone out for it like PR boxes I saw some PR stuff I haven't seen anybody actually get it what I did think was interesting so Alex Earle we talked about her not that much but like maybe like a couple times with the Tom Brady situation because Tom Brady were a sports podcast um so they were like not dating dating whatever and then she is a
Starting point is 00:23:02 TikTok influencer was on Dancing with Stars. Supposedly she has like a reality show coming out soon too with her family. I think on Netflix, I want to say. Oh yeah, it's Netflix. Because I was surprised it wasn't Hulu. Yeah, I feel like Hulu does a lot of reality stuff now. But apparently I think it's Netflix. And she launched a skincare line called Real Activs, which is a play on like Earl, Real.
Starting point is 00:23:29 But I'm not going to lie when I saw the name. I was fully expecting workout gear. I was thinking workout gear. I think other people were thinking swim line. A lot of people were expecting that because some of the marketing that she had leading up to the launch was her. It was basically her real active profiles were all named. WTF as Alex doing. And then she sent out a rolling suitcase and then a puzzle piece.
Starting point is 00:24:00 and to crack the code and figure out what it was and she was in water when you know the puzzle was eventually put together so I think that led a lot of people to think swim wear from that but even the name of it you would think but truthfully I feel like this was all a part of the marketing to like do bad marketing like do marketing that wasn't on the nose because like realistically think about how many influencers or like celebrities drop lines. Yeah. And no one really like cares or talks about it right away. Yeah, she made a spectacle out of it.
Starting point is 00:24:36 And so I think that because it wasn't like exactly what people thought it was going to be or like everyone's kind of critiquing. More like the strategy than the product because like obviously no one has the product yet. So everybody's just critiquing like the rollout, what the website looks like, what the marketing was and not actually the product. But like again, I feel like if she would. would have just dropped this and would have been like, oh, it's a skincare line.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Then everyone would just been like, okay. Yeah. No, that perspective is very good because I feel like it was different. And I feel like that she has mentioned that in some of her TikToks. Like she wanted to make it fun, wanted to make it different in her with the rollout. It's very on brand. I mean, like, it's on brand because it's skincare and she always talked about. And one of the reasons, like, I remember she first kind of was going better.
Starting point is 00:25:27 because most of her content was like fun get ready with me like partying at university of Miami but then like she also showed like when she was like have really bad skin days and people like oh she's relatable yeah that's what people like to be very open about that journey um but a lot of people on the other hand were like oh well you've like said you've used acutane you've used like all these other like yeah really strong acne products so like how are you making your own and saying like that's what worked um But people also, like, I'm seeing like both sides of it. And I guess too.
Starting point is 00:26:04 I mean, we're not going to know until it actually gets in people's hands. A thousand percent. And I saw somebody else. This was actually the most random take that I saw on it. It was somebody defending Alex because they were basically saying, yeah, I keep seeing everybody saying, this is a money grab for her. Do you think this would be a money grab for her? Do you know how many other things she could do for money? at this point, then spend years of time working and, like, building this brand and a
Starting point is 00:26:35 skincare line, like, that's not an easy, quick grab to do for money? Yeah. I did see people, though, questioning the time. I didn't either. I saw people questioning the timeline, though, like being, because she said, like, she's been working on this since college, but then people were, like, just X amount of years, you were talking about being on. this medicine or this medicine like for act i don't know so people are like questioning the timeline
Starting point is 00:27:02 regardless it's on brand she talks about skin issues this is like if she was going to make a brand this makes sense i also think a lot of things will make sense for her but like to see how it goes i feel like this was like a safe route for her to go um i did look on the website today and everything just says join the wait list like you can't actually buy everything sold out in the first drop i don't think it because i saw more commentary on this people are like oh people are saying because it didn't sell in the first two minutes it wasn't a success like it all sold out and I'm sure it's going to be very successful I like Alex Earl like the thing she does will I personally try this no because my skin is specific but that's the other thing that people were like kind of criticizing was like anybody
Starting point is 00:27:46 who has like had skin issues or like suffered from like acne isn't just going to go buying like a whole new regimen like no it's very like niche to be able to even like buy new product. It's a tough industry to like break into and start a new line. So I'm interested to see what people will end up saying. I mean, thankfully, yeah, I, everybody always asked me like my skincare stuff because like I do. You have beautiful skin.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Thank you. But also I don't deserve it. I have never like done anything special for my skin. I've just been very blessed. Hopefully I think genetically maybe I'll pass it on. But I've always had like dry skin like eczema. especially when I was little. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:29 And so my face, thankfully, maybe that's like my, that's my problem. And I get the not face issues from it. But I haven't had that problem. So like, but I would never even try something just because I'm like, I don't want to cause anything. You know what I mean? Skin care is like kind of tough. I'm the same way.
Starting point is 00:28:47 I use my one cleanser and I use moisturizer. Like, I mean. When I was even middle at school, I had bad breakouts. But it wasn't like bad. It was like these weird little tiny bumps all across my forehead. We talked about this recently. They didn't, they weren't like. Acne.
Starting point is 00:29:05 But they were like texture. It was, yeah, a bonjia texture. I got bangs. Because of that, I feel like I'm scarred that anything will give me that. I know. So that's what I'm kind of like, it'll be interesting to see like who actually ends up being the target market for this. Because like, I feel like anyone who actually has skin issues isn't just going to be like on a
Starting point is 00:29:26 whim changing their entire routine for this so it'll be interesting to see I still think it'll be successful and I think to it kind of worked in her favor to do it this way and to like cause this kind of like controversy around it because it's like everyone talking about it's you're either 50 50 and the people who are for it are going to like defend it and buy it just to prove the point so it's like it'll work out for her in the end but we shall update also I I don't this is not working out in the end so we've been keeping up with secret lives of Mormon wives and the latest was that Jesse was getting a divorce from her husband she went on call her daddy talked about the divorce um everyone was rooting for her everyone was so excited for her everyone was
Starting point is 00:30:16 very excited for her rooting for her she was getting out of her toxic marriage that they showed a lot on of this like last season and the season prior and then she kind of screwed it all up and ended up kissing supposedly allegedly Chase, which is Miranda's ex-husband, who was also involved in the swinging scandal, allegedly ended up kissing Chase and then sending flowers to Miranda, apologizing because she is friends with Miranda. And then, you know, you have Chase out here, which is, he's like everywhere. He quite literally is everywhere. Yeah, there's not enough hours in the day.
Starting point is 00:30:53 I don't understand how he's in every comment section, but he is. And basically, yeah, so he ended up kissing her. And now everyone's like, why would you do that? That's crazy. Everyone was rooting for you. Now they think you're, like, terrible going for, like, your friend's ex-husband. I personally think this is all trying to just, like, keep the show alive. Because if Taylor Frankie Paul doesn't end up coming back next season, they need some kind of, like, drama.
Starting point is 00:31:19 They need, like, a storyline. So I think this is going to be one of those. I am leaning in that direction as well only because I feel like for the last What has it been like since Secret Life of Mormon Wives? What is it? Season four or season three that just came out? I think it's four, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Season four came out. There has been a new headline If not every day, at least every week or every other day. Yeah. Something has been going on with this cast to continuously like make headlines which like,
Starting point is 00:31:53 I don't believe all of that is planned, but this just, it just feels like, wow, there's one thing on top of the other. I feel like every season of this show specifically, and like every reality TV shows like this is so I have a hard time now even like getting into reality TV. Like I do it and like I want to keep up with what everyone's talking about. So I do it. But also sometimes I'm just like it is kind of the same. Like there's always a villain. And I feel like specifically with secret.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Girl Lives and Mormon Wives. Every season they have a new one. And then they boot him off the show and then they pick another new one. Yes. And so like I think this season they're trying to like really set up Chase and Jesse as like villains. Chase has like always kind of been in the background like as a character that's a villain. But he hasn't like been big in the show. This last season was the first time they actually like had him as a character. Yeah. He was more of like a before that he was just like a background, you know kind of. Yeah. But then I think like also all the wives. like agreed like okay let's bring him in now because it's like people are interested in it and he is getting traction online and like just like to help keep the show alive so I think it's one of those and like I'm hoping it's one of those but I guess we will find out just so crazy and it's kind of similar of actually what's going on with the summer house drama which do you watch summer house I have never watched well I've seen episodes because my mom watches it but I've never watched it same and I just saw this today all over my TikTok and it was like do I feel and we've talked about this before like sometimes TikTok will just drop you in the middle of like something that you have no business
Starting point is 00:33:32 being a part of and you're like this is not my algorithm that's exactly what happened I got a random video that was implying that I knew and maybe it's because you know I've been following you know the secret lives whatever all of that drama was maybe just implied and thought you know I'm in the Bravo verse. I watched Summerhouse because I was like, who are these people? And I've heard of like some of their names. Like Sierra, she was on traders, like Alex and Amanda.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Who's Alex? Amanda and Kyle. Yeah. Amanda and Kyle. I don't know where I got that another name from. He could be a character. I have no clue. Alex, I don't know. But they just got a divorce. So I had heard a little bit about that just because
Starting point is 00:34:16 I feel like when things happen in the Bravo universe, I'm not even in it. but I feel like so many people are so invested that I see everybody's repost and everybody I feel like has like even more so like not just like TikTok but like in our real lives like people that I know in our real lives like that we are friends with
Starting point is 00:34:38 will post and comment about Bravo situations on Instagram and I'm like I'm not in the Bravo version of this world Sophie, one of our friends, posted this and I had the snake, the snake one. And I was like, I have to know what this is.
Starting point is 00:34:57 So then like, but truly as soon as I opened my TikTok, it was like the first thing I came up. I'm like, okay, this is what she was like posting about. I went down a rabbit hole after that because I'm like, I want to know like the general. That's what happens to me all day every day. But I will say with this specifically, it's very hard for me with Bravo.
Starting point is 00:35:15 I was Vanderpump Rules era. And like that was it for me. Like that gave me everything. It gave me everything I needed. And like that was it. Those were my, that was what I needed from Bravo. This is kind of like, I think like the newer. They are newer.
Starting point is 00:35:32 But anyway version of that. They're on season like seven or eight or something crazy. Did hear that. But so basically what happened was similar situation, friends getting together with their friends' exes. Basically, Amanda and Kyle are like big characters on Summerhouse. Amanda came in. as Kyle's, like, girlfriend, they ended up getting married. West and Sierra were also, like, characters on the show.
Starting point is 00:35:57 And ended up, like, getting together, but it was kind of in between seasons. And then when they came back, they were no longer together. And there was, like, a lot of animosity. Anyways, the girls were friends. The guys were friends. Now that Amanda and Kyle got divorced, West and Sierra broken up, now Amanda and Wes announced that they're, together which like everybody thought it was weird anyways because announcing that like we're not
Starting point is 00:36:26 in a relationship but like we're seeing each other is a very weird statement to me very weird like to do a joint statement i swear i've only seen like divorce people like making joint statements and would i've heard from the bravo people or at least the bravo people of ticot have said like bravo people don't make joint statements it's always an individual statement So why was this? Why was this a joint statement? I don't know. Well, I'm not too in tune, so I'm learning.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Agreed. I don't exactly know. But people are saying, like, one, it's sketchy for Amanda because she's friends with Sierra. And now she's with her ex. And it was like bad, I guess, between them after. And then Kyle is friends with West. Yeah. And, well, and what I've been hearing as well is that the timeline is a little suss because
Starting point is 00:37:19 It's been brought to light by Dave Portnoy that this has been going on with West and Amanda says at least the Super Bowl because Brianna Chicken Fry told him at the Super Bowl. Oh yeah, those two are together, Amanda and West. And apparently West went with Sierra to the Super Bowl. Oh. So, well, I was going to say that too because it was only, it was January when Amanda and Kyle like, announced they're separating and now you're saying in February she was already getting with West. Right. And now we're in March and like Wes and her already doing a joint statement saying like we're seeing each other. So it's like that was pretty fast. Right. And they were married for five years.
Starting point is 00:38:05 West and Sierra were only together for like five months. But like it was serious. They met each other's family and like they're actually dating dating. It wasn't like they were just hooking up or something. And I heard because there's a new season of Summer House that's airing right now to my understanding. and apparently or just aired like it's either airing right now or just aired and sarah and west were like kind of considering each other again like starting to like he was saying he messed up he was trying to get back with everyone was rooting for them so the timelines are getting real lucky here interesting but i feel like we talked about these situations before and this is like the discourse like is it wrong to get with your friend's ex in this situation and like
Starting point is 00:38:49 the answer is obviously yes correct yes I feel like the only time like there would be an exception I think like if they weren't actually ever dating if like they had just like hooked up once or something and it didn't work out or like if they had just like liked each other but never like dated dated correct but like in this situation that's not the case so I feel like that's why like people are people are like they're all separate they're all adults they can make their own decisions I've seen some people saying that and it's like yeah that's fine if you're an asshole I don't think I agree with that take yeah I don't agree with that take well we're on the same page then um and with that being said lots of shadiness we have some shady stories so let's start with shady story number
Starting point is 00:39:34 one I overcompensated with my kids wanting them to have a different childhood than mine when I got divorced I felt extremely guilty and very protective so when my 22 year old daughter introduced her 30 year old boyfriend, my spidey senses started tingling. He was conceded and thought he was the smartest person in the room. He had grand ideas about his career path, but only worked odd jobs and had terrible work ethic. He asked my daughter to pay his bills, and when they moved in together, I felt physically ill. Trying to be supportive and protective without being overbearing is a very fine line. They ended up with mold in their apartment and moved into my home temporarily. My daughter was always welcome, but him, not so much. Once I was around him, I was around him. I was around him. I was
Starting point is 00:40:16 around him on the regular, I picked up a lot of inconsistencies about his life and hated the way he treated my daughter, always correcting her, interrupting her, and I was not having it. I decided to research his background and found out everything he told us was a lie. He said his mom died of a drug overdose, alive, said his grandma raised him and died when he was a senior in high school, alive, said his ex-girlfriend was stalking him, but it was the other way around. She left the state to get away from him. I researched this for months, gathered dates, facts, and I was finally ready to tell my daughter. In a calm, factual conversation, I told her everything I'd found. I told her she could stay with me, but he had to leave. She hit me, ran out of the house in the snow, and called the friend to pick her up.
Starting point is 00:41:03 She came back at 2 a.m. with the sheriff and her boyfriend to pick up their things. She chose him, the lies that he was the only one that cared about her. To this day, she will not. not talk to me. I've only seen her once in three years when her brother graduated. She still won't answer my phone calls and won't answer my letters. I stopped by her new place and she threatened to call the police. I love her so much. I miss her face and her laugh. Every night when I reflect on things I'm grateful for. My only wish for her is happiness, safety, and that she always feels loved. Even if it's not for me, that's all I want from her. Motherhood is sometimes the most painful thing and beyond our control.
Starting point is 00:41:44 That's the most heart-wrenching thing I've ever heard. Dude, insane. Literally insane. But I feel like this is literally what happens. But unfortunately, I feel like when people are in those situations, it just takes them. Like, we've talked about this. Like, yes. They have to make the decision on their own.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Like nothing anyone says or does is going to influence them. No, like, data is going to sway their decisions. No, but I feel like on the positive side at some point, it always comes to an end. And then like the person always does end up realizing, like, unfortunately in this situation is just taking like longer than time. But hopefully she does get out of it and you guys have a relationship again. Yeah, that's sad. Shady story number two.
Starting point is 00:42:33 As a mom of two, I'm constantly trying to see if they tell a lie. My boys are three years apart and love to cover for one another. I've convinced them they have a lying light that flickers when they tell a lie. Now I know when they are lying because they cover their foreheads with their hands before they tell me a lie.
Starting point is 00:42:55 They are 10 and 7 and still believe this. That's very cute. I love this because it's one of those things that we've kind of talked about. Sometimes as parents, like you have to make stuff up and like make up lies. A little white lies. And this is one of those.
Starting point is 00:43:11 of those things that I just think is so funny because they're just giving themselves away and like it's so innocent and harmless. But it also randomly reminded me this week on TikTok I was getting a bunch of videos of kids and toddlers like throwing tantrums and parents would say like randomly they'd be like Jessica. Oh my gosh. I've seen this. And like call out to somebody named Jessica and for whatever reason like kids write down kids would just stop throwing the tantrum. and be like, oh, who's, like, looking around, like, see who's Jessica. And it worked every time.
Starting point is 00:43:47 No, I've seen that. And all the comments are like, yeah, you just got to redirect them sometimes. And it works. Well, even with Elliot now, like, if I say no or, like, take something because, I don't know, I don't want him to, like, eat it. Yeah. Get so mad instantly. But, like, if I offer something else, it's immediately, like, completely forgot about the
Starting point is 00:44:05 other thing that he was mad about. And it's like, oh, a new thing. It's literally like the, like, squirrel. squirrel like that's how it feels but it's just funny is so sweet okay here we go shady story number three i just arrived in the uk from zimbabwe with my three-year-old son we went shopping one day and he decided to run off to do shopping on his own i tried my best to keep up with him as he zoomed from one aisle to the next eventually i lost sight of him and decided to make my way to the customer service desk to tell them that my son ran off but before
Starting point is 00:44:41 I got there, I heard an announcement to say that they have found a little boy. I raced to the dust to fetch him and the shop assistant said to him, is this your mom? To which he said no. He was adamant that I wasn't his mom, which confused the poor sales lady even more. Thankfully, I had his passport in my bag and showed it to her to get my son back. He's 25 years old now, but that's one day I'll never forget. Bro. This is a nightmare. No, and this is funny because I saw a TikTok earlier. this week Jenna from Dancing with the Stars
Starting point is 00:45:17 had posted this they're on tour right now Jenna and Val are married they have a son he's probably I don't know how old he is he's three I saw this his name's Rome yeah his name's Rome and they were traveling and she was the TSA agent had asked like oh what's your name and he said Rome like how old are you three and then they said who are you traveling with and he said Val and Jenna
Starting point is 00:45:42 and he was like oh who's valentenna and he said from dancing with the stars and then um the TSA agent asked them oh and where are you going uh where are you going on tour because that's and like all the things are true but like those are his parents it's so funny I feel like kids too I feel like I guess I don't realize like when I don't remember when I realized my parents had names yeah but But like, it's like a weird concept. I feel like I was definitely not that young to like realize my parents had their own names. Like I just thought they were mom and dad. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:21 And like, I don't know how I guess that worked. But that's just funny that he's three doing that. I bet it's because like on tour, I feel like everyone calls them that and he sees that. Yeah. That is funny. No, I mean, kids could be sketchy. Like, yeah, they could just be like, no, this isn't my mom or dad. And like how do you?
Starting point is 00:46:38 In most situations, like, how would you prove it? If you weren't traveling and like, I don't know, you were to set your local store and they did that. Yeah. I don't know. Because kids, like, don't have an idea on them until I prove their last name. Right. And they also probably think it's harmless and, like, funny and not knowing that, like, no, they can take serious trouble. Literally.
Starting point is 00:46:56 My goodness. Oh, man. All right. That concludes this week's episode.
