Market has doubtless not escaped your notice that there are less than, fewer than, a hundred
days till Christmas.
It's September.
I know, but soon it'll be October and the Halloween stuff will have been cleared out
of the stores and Christmas cards and Christmas baubles will already be, in fact they are
in some shops.
And before you know it, we'll be talking about Easter.
Anyway, what's happening at Christmas, Simon?
Well we have a talking about Easter. Anyway, what's happening at Christmas, Simon? Well, we have a Christmas movie spectacular.
Yes, a spectacular evening of festive filmic cheer
in which you get to come along and watch the show.
Are you excited, Mark?
Yes, I'm learning this for the first time.
Is this like a live and in-person thing?
It is.
It's gonna be at the Prince Edward Theatre
down there in London on December the 8th. That's very nice. That's a nice theatre. It's half past two in the afternoon,
which makes us matinee idols for the first time. Now these features don't quote us on this because
they might not turn up or we might have thought something better. Right. The final of the World
Cup of Christmas films, 2024 edition, in which the top 32 festive films go head to head. We're going to turn the tables with a feature called Quizmaster Kermode's
Christmas Quiz in which the audience answer a range of questions prepared by Mark himself.
Did you know about this?
No, I didn't. When am I going to prepare those questions?
Anytime you like between now and December the 8th.
What time's the show on?
Half past two in the afternoon.
I'll do them in the morning.
Also, there'll be reviews of that particular week's releases.
There'll be a special guest from the movies.
This is the most vague of all the features because guests
have finalized like the day before.
Is it Jason Isaacs?
Almost certainly.
It'll be Jason Isaacs.
The Laughter Live will have an extended Christmas Cracker special
and the audience and us will
sing along to some of the greatest songs from Christmas movies with top vocal jingle combo
The Wrathbones, brackets, TBC.
So that's, I mean, to be honest, all of this is TBC apart from the fact that you can be
there, hop us to December the 8th Prince Edward Theatre in London.
Now if people wanted to buy tickets for this, and frankly, having heard that trail, why
wouldn't they?
What do they do, Simon?
So this is where you go if you are as excited as we are about the Prince Edward Theatre,
December the 8th, I must say.
You go to fan.co.uk, that's F-A-N-E.co.uk, slash Kermode and Mayo, and I'm already excited,
Mark.
Nothing can go wrong.
I just want to clarify this, Simon.
You're saying Fain, F-A-N, not F-A-M as in the kids from fame, but F-A-N, N for kneecap.
N, yes, that's right.
F-A-N-E.co.uk slash Kermode and Mayo.
We're convinced that everything will be fine and that nothing will go wrong.
First come first served.
We'll see you in London December the 8th.
