I just don't know that that is the style of car that we need for NASCAR racing.
The changes have to be big enough to where the engineers can't figure it out.
The fans are starving for controversy.
The fact that we run 26 races and don't crown our regular season champ is an absolute fail.
Mumbling Mumbo.
That video had 200,000 views.
We know.
That's why we used it in Mamba's social sims.
How do you think it got here?
If it sucked, we wouldn't have used it over here.
Welcome to Kevin Harvick's Happy Art.
presented by NASCAR and Fox. I'm Kevin Harvick, Caitlin Bincey, Momba Smith.
Hey, here we are. In the house. We are. And of the regular season. Can you believe that?
I cannot. We are officially here. What episode is this? This is episode 43 for us here.
Eric Jones episode. I'm going to tell you what. This season has cooked. It's been good. It has.
I can't believe we're here and already looking at the champion who's going to win the championship and all that stuff in 10
10 weeks. These 10 weeks are going to be like that. It's best part of the year. It really is.
It is the best part of the year. How was your weekend?
And congratulations to your son.
Well, thanks.
Yeah, we actually raced on Wednesday this week.
Yeah, I know.
A few days ago.
So we went to Wausau, Michigan, and Keelan won his first pole in a super late model and his first race.
So, yeah, that was fun.
Proud dad moment.
Yeah, proud dad moment.
Very cool.
It's, uh, it turned into a race fan weekend.
I got to lay on the couch and not do anything this weekend.
So you didn't go out on the boat?
No, no.
I didn't work on my tan this week.
I did.
You did?
Yeah.
From the Hall of Fame?
Wow.
Wow.
Yeah.
I mean, shoot.
We had two NASCAR Sundays parties, one at the Hall of Fame watching the O'Reilly's race.
Let me get this straight.
You had two NASCAR Sunday parties.
One on Friday.
One on Saturday.
It was awesome.
We had so many people, 200 plus people showed up.
I think we're definitely going to try and do that again next year.
On Friday.
Well, just in a bigger capacity.
Like, just like a temple event and doing something.
I thought Daytona was really cool.
And then we had 110 plus people at hopping on Saturday going crazy watching the race.
It was hopping.
I was hopping.
We were on.
popping at hopping. It was great.
That's awesome. Good for you. And then I got in the lake.
Did you drink any pops? No.
No, no pops. I did drink
quite a bit.
Yeah. Had some tequila sodas.
Other type of stuff. Yeah. A lot of tequila sodas.
It's good. Like a wall trip. Tequila sodas.
Yeah. Tequila is my jam.
And I had a bad experience with tequila.
Really? Did you close fall off?
Did you close fall off?
No. I don't think so.
I don't think so. Okay.
I don't think so, but I don't remember.
We were Mexican. They're blowing those whistles.
and forcing those shots down your mouth.
Oh, yeah.
They make you shake your head.
That was a long time ago.
That was different Kevin Harvey.
And since then, I have not drank tequila.
Yeah, I can't do the tequila.
So props to you for...
That's my favorite.
For handle them out.
I look at it.
To kill you.
You know why I started drinking tequila
is because everyone would like,
hey, what do you drink in?
And then you'd like buy around.
Everyone would want to drink whatever you're drinking.
You'd end up buying around at the bar.
And I just started drinking when no one else wanted to drink.
Like, ah, never mind.
So I stopped back.
asking me to buy them drinks.
Well, good for you promoting the sport, though, through your parties.
Oh, no.
It's like, I got an official email about this from the Hall of Fame.
Yeah, because I'm on their mailing list.
And I saw Mamba's deal on there.
I was like, that's cool.
Our next.
So we're done with our weekly parties.
New York is still doing their weekly parties.
But we're going to do a big tailgate for the Bank of America 400 and then a championship
party.
A tailgate at the track?
At the track.
Sunday morning.
Very nice.
Super fun.
That'll be exciting.
And that, of course, is in the chase.
The chase races.
they are officially here. It was very exciting in Daytona, as we knew that it would be.
Ryan Priest and company personified the mantra of Do Not Give Up. Wasn't that incredible to see his team do what they did on Saturday night?
It was unbelievable and really talked about doing it all week leading into the race knowing what they need to do.
But in typical Ryan Priest's fashion, he's always performed in these weird clutch moments.
Clutch back against the wall moments. And once again, here we are.
with Ryan Priest winning to make his way into the chase and get his first win at Daytona
that has been so difficult for him when it comes to wrecking race cars in such a spectacular way.
But to be able to spin that around, get past all those moments of disaster,
and be able to stand on top of that car in Victory Lane is just such an accomplished,
really just from a mental standpoint, to be able to get over these types of wreck.
and be able to go back to that racetrack and race at such a high level,
which he's done every time that he's gone back in race.
All these wrecks aren't, it's not like he's wrecking in the back of the pack.
Right.
I mean, he's wrecking at the front of the pack in these moments.
And to be able to get back into Victory Lane and make their way into the chase is pretty
unbelievable.
But the thing that sticks out to me the most about Ryan Priest and his team is the camaraderie.
Just the trust and belief that he and his crew chief having each other.
and you can see it in the celebration afterwards
with the pit crew guys, the crew members,
just how much, how together they are in this battle
to be able to try to accomplish what they did
and try to succeed and get to Victory Lane,
which they did for the second time really this year.
He won the clash, and now he goes to Daytona win.
So look, it's not easy to do.
And his journey to get to this point
has been kind of like a storybook.
That's true.
You know, it's really been something that you could write a script of movie on as far as
the chances that he's taken on himself, you know, the moments that he's had to make decisions.
And, you know, it was really interesting because I interviewed him for our speed broadcast.
And hearing him talk about his toughest decision is not anything that any of us would think about.
He talks about the moment of having the opportunity to go back home and race modifies.
in 2016 and to be able to go and race for somebody else and make for make all his own decisions
and race to win, which is how he's wired. I'm here to try to figure out how to win. I don't just
want to be here. So it's just a great story. It is a great story. And like Kevin said,
not the traditional route maybe necessarily going through the sport. To his point, he was very
complimentary of the team saying they gave him a rocket ship to go to the moon. A lot of great
quotable moments from Ryan Priest's post race, right? Did not miss on any, any, any,
word that he used in any of the post race. I mean, he nailed every part of it, nothing but
straight aura. Playing Rocket Man apparently when he was walking in the media center. It was just so
great. And for Ryan, like, there's a guy named Doug Chenard that is looking down on Saturday
that was so proud and so happy because Doug Chenard is a guy that loved Ryan Priest and he helped
him in a lot of different ways. And when I was working for Doug and Doug was a crew chief at MDM at
the very beginning, they gave Ryan and all.
opportunity in a couple of K-N-N-R-Watern races at the time while Ryan was still trying to
figure it out and he was like running with JD and all this stuff just to keep him out there.
And, you know, Ryan's just a grinder.
He just never quits.
And like this win and him getting into the chase is so big for the New England area.
I know that every, but after we just left New Hampshire and I know that everybody was going
nuts seeing him finally get it done.
And, you know, we talked about at the beginning of the year.
I was like, man, how terrible would it be?
be if Ryan Priest wins a race and then doesn't make it into the doesn't make it into the postseason.
And now we don't even have to think about it because winning matters so much still.
And he won at Daytona and I don't think anyone will be mad about seeing Ryan Priest in the chase.
Very popular win for sure. So that was the best story. One of the best stories from Daytona.
One bigger, larger overarching story was the fact this new rules package with smaller spoiler,
less horsepower. What did you think? Because a lot of the drivers didn't seem to think like it made that
much of a difference. Well, it's really interesting. Obviously, the spoiler was shorter. They had less
horsepower. Big change, right? Like, you have to applaud NASCAR for having the guts to go out and
change it. And I think that the results were mixed after the race from the drivers. And I, and I think
to me, kind of the overarching theme of things that came out of it for me was, you know, we've got
work to do somewhere else. You know, we on the downforce stuff, the super speedway stuff, we've
changed a spoiler, we've changed split it. We've, we've changed all kinds of stuff on the overbody
pieces of the car. We've changed the diffuser in the back. But, you know, I think they're going to
have to look underneath this car at that big pan underneath the car to really get the effects that
they need to really change the characteristics of the race car. And, you know, most of the downforce is
is made underneath this car. We all know that. And, you know, I think that in order to really change
the dynamic of how the race cars react,
you're going to have to get the pan off the bottom of the car,
whether you're super speedway racing or short track racing.
How did you see a difference, or did you not?
Yeah, I mean, I think some of the pushes were pretty good.
Like, they didn't have to...
It was better. It was better.
Like, they didn't have...
Until the very end, they weren't like slam drafting.
They were like bump drafting.
I think that's what the direction we want to go.
I thought, I was looking forward to hearing all the responses from the drivers
because they're the ones doing it.
And when you got the responses,
it was like about 50-50
and like some of them were like
oh it was way better or it was like a little better
when someone like I didn't feel anything at all
He didn't feel like and so like when it when you
When you listen to that it's like
It's kind of hard to get a good read I think
As us as the fan base listening
Because it's like okay who are you going to listen to the most about it
And then you got to look at well where this guy end up
Did they feel like they had a good day or not
And that's going to change a little bit of their their opinion too
But I think you know overall
I think
I think that the overall race was better except for the, you know, with the less power,
with the dramatic fuel savings.
But the way that that fuel savings split up into two different packs was pretty intriguing.
That part was pretty intriguing.
It's tough.
I mean, this part of the sport is really tough when you have, it's not a new car now,
but the Gen 7 car is still a new car.
And it's totally different than anything else that we've ever raced in NASCAR with the
underbody of the car.
And I just don't know that that is the style of car that we need for NASCAR racing.
And I think that we've, you know, with the diffuser changes and the spoiler changes and all
the things that we've changed with this race car, you know, the next step, the next real step to
this is getting the stuff off the bottom of the car to be able to figure out how to do that.
I think we, I think a lot of the changes that we always made before, like even the changes
that they just made.
these are changes that for the other generation of car, to Kevin's point, would have made a big difference.
And that's what we're expecting.
And when you have a completely different construct of a race car, some of these things aren't changed.
They're not making the changes that you thought it was before.
So now we're about to the point where you've got to start looking outside of the box of what we know and start, you know, tinker on what we don't know.
The changes have to be big enough to where the engineers can't figure it out for a little while.
That's what happened here is the engineers, they all figured out.
out how to make this car drive just as good as
what they had. Yeah.
Right. Right. You know, the bumps and the
things that happened were a little bit different. The
spacing was a little bit better. It wasn't like
just one pack all bumper to bumper.
Right. Your runs could be
a little bit better. So I think
directionally, it was probably
a little bit better. But, I mean, it's not like
you can make the spoiler smaller.
I mean, it's already super small.
And so, you know, I think it's just something to
where I think direction
from a whole, whatever type of racetrack you're racing on,
think you're going to have to look at the bottom of the race car.
So maybe a small step in the right direction, but still some work to do.
So we were talking about Ryan Priest, obviously.
He advances.
That means the driver who did not, one of them being Shane Van Gisbergen,
was not able to go on to the chase.
But he was very complimentary of the overall efforts.
Like this doesn't define our season.
We've made a lot of improvements on the ovals.
Do you think, like, looking back that San Diego was a big pivotal point for that team?
They had to capitalize on all those road course races and, you know, wrecking at San Diego in that moment.
That was a big blow to the 97 and that team of Shane Van Gisbergen.
And I think overall, SVG has, he's been the best car at Trackhouse.
Which is kind of the problem.
Yeah.
But I think Trackhouse's cars haven't been very good.
Yeah.
as a whole to be able to perform like they need to perform,
especially on the ovals.
And when you look at Ross Chastain and the struggles that he's had this year,
it really shows you how far off those cars have been.
But on the flip side of that,
Shane's been better at most of the ovals than both of his teammates
and has had some great runs on the ovals with great results to go with it.
And I still believe that the key for Shane,
to take the next step is consistently qualifying well up front.
And a lot of that just comes with having a car that's capable of doing that.
So, you know,
trackhouse still has,
you know,
some work to do.
But I think that like Caitlin said,
that the key moment for not getting to where they needed to be in the chase is San Diego.
Still a lot to be proud of,
though,
for that group.
But you could definitely sense the strong disappointment when you listen to his interview,
obviously,
and not making it.
Hard to believe no track house cars are in.
Yeah, I mean, I mean, the 97 group or driver over, I think they overachieve.
Like, they were, the fact that they were in the mix all the way to the last race.
And honestly, to the bitter end.
And honestly, if Ryan Priest doesn't win, it just finishing second is a 15 point swing.
I don't remember exactly what the gap was, but that means it was probably within.
At one point at the end with the last lap, his SVG was like 23 out at one point, with Ryan leading the race.
so he gets through that wreck
and Ryan, let's say
they've made to the end, he gets through the wreck and Ryan
doesn't win. Like that might swing the whole thing.
So we're talking really small increments,
but it's still, you still look back at San Diego
and you're like, man, we probably had
we had at least the top five.
Like we had at least that top of that.
And that amount of points buffer
is the difference between, unfortunately,
them being in and out.
I think the two cars that overachieve the most
in the regular season to me were Daniel
Swares and Shane Van Gisberger.
Yeah, I think about the 77.
You don't think, do you think he over it to?
I mean, he kind of wound up where he should have.
Okay.
He actually wound up behind Suarez in the regular season points.
So, you know, to me that, you know,
I don't believe that's overachieving when he should have beat his teammate.
Gotcha.
Suarez with the amount of time that he's had with his team, in my opinion.
I mean, he should have been the lead car.
Now, he's been the most talked about car.
Right, right.
But for sure.
variety of reasons. For a variety of reasons. But, you know, I think that those two cars, to me,
are the overachievers. I think the two that underachieved were Brad Kozlowski and Ross Chastain.
Yeah. I think those two cars to me are two guys that I expected to be in the chase just because
of their experience and the things that they've done in the past. So pretty interesting that those two
cars weren't really ever in the mix to be in the chase. I talked to Daniel at his baby shower.
And I was like, I was like, you know, where are you guys at?
Like, hey, he was.
This is fun baby shower chat.
Yeah, a little baby shower, you know, a little fire side chat with the kid, you know, everything.
No, he was excited about their chances going into the chase.
You know what I mean?
He felt like they had a lot more in the tank than what they've shown.
And he was very optimistic.
Like, he felt like they could run up front.
And, I mean, the car was strong all night.
Now we'll see what happens when we get.
Now it's a different, now everything's different.
You're getting everyone's best.
And we've talked about the Ford's coming.
on of late and we know NASCAR had made some changes to the splitter stands and the things that
are going on in the front of the car that everybody thought was, you know, an advantage for the
Toyotas. But I believe that since we've had that rule change, the two cars that it's affected more
have been the spire cars. Yeah. They seem to be the ones that since all that has changed has been
affected more than anybody else in the field. We see the standings here. Daniel Suarez, 11th,
Carson Hosevar, currently 12th. Two and five Canadians will hear
the words, you have cancer. That's why every step and dollar raised matters. On September 19th,

Once again, another rough week in a row for Carson Hosevar with six to go.
He has contact with Eric Jones.
What all did you see transpiring in this moment, Kevin?
Well, I think this goes to show you how little downforce there actually is on the car.
And, you know, right there, you know, we didn't really see when the car turned out from the pack right there.
But when he turned down the hill, it was over.
Once he got clean air on the front of that car and you heard Carson talk about this afterwards,
once he turned out from behind that car,
it was really the first time that he had turned a car
down the hill like that and just spun out.
And ironically, winds up up the racetrack
right in front of the 43 car,
who, you know, they had given a little bit of grief this week
from their owner to Carson Hosevar.
And how ironic is it that Eric Jones
winds up the one piled into the back of the 77.
Poetic justice was in his second.
I guess that's one way to say.
In justice, I don't know.
I don't know it was the 43 group feeling justice.
Right.
Yeah.
I kind of want to talk about that a little bit,
what Jimmy Johnson said about Carson Hosevar on X.
He said he had many opinions on him.
He is one of many personalities, our sport needs.
He drove for us and has only spoken to Jimmy once, two-ish years since.
And he's frustrated with his mistakes.
He did not win over the NASCAR fan base, Jimmy says.
But merch sales don't lie.
What did you think when you read that?
I mean, I think Jimmy is calculated in this.
He's not trying to...
It's not something that Jimmy Johnson normally does.
No.
I was surprised to see that.
I also think that that shows that Jimmy feels like they're close.
Like the competitiveness is getting close.
And it sounds like that they feel like they've had a couple run-ins with Carson in the 77.
And it's their cars that are getting poor up.
And like last year, I think it was Ricky Stenthouse that felt the same way.
So when it happens more and more,
and you feel like you have fast cars,
now you're,
now you're,
now,
now I'm starting to get pissed.
And I think that is a,
a very angry Jimmy Johnson
that was very well spoken
and presented it in a very good way
because they felt they had a chance to win the face.
I feel like,
remember when we interviewed Joey,
like I think some drivers find it puzzling
like how much of the fans love him,
even though he barely has won.
Like Joey was like,
the fans never rallied around me like that.
Jimmy's won seven championships.
They never rallied around him like that.
Like,
what do you make of that?
I mean, it's interesting.
I think that the fans are starving for controversy.
And, you know, I think Carson leans into that to be able to, he doesn't care.
Yeah, he doesn't.
And I think that we saw that at Atlanta, right?
Like, you have to have the respect to the garage if you're going to win some of these races
because someone's going to have to push you.
And in that moment at Atlanta, you saw that nobody's pushing him.
Nobody wants to, none of his competitors want to see him win.
They don't want to help him.
They don't want to help him do anything positive.
because they just don't like him.
And, you know, on the flip side of that,
it was really interesting this week that NASCAR kind of flipped it around
and does this really weird press release.
Press release.
I don't under, I'm not, I don't know what that was.
What that was.
Yeah.
I just don't know.
I just didn't,
we've never seen anything like that, really.
Never.
There's never been a press release just about one person really leading into a race.
Well, it was like a, sanctioning body.
It was like a story.
It was like, it was like a story kind of.
Cataloging kind of thing that's happening.
Yeah.
But, but, but, but,
The way it came across, it was like an internal, because it was internal, right?
Like it was, because it was a press release internally.
Yes.
It wasn't like it was out to the fan base.
So it wasn't like telling you a story.
Like if they did this again with somebody else and it was out to the, no, I get it.
It's a storyline thing.
But like, we do a new storyline every week.
Yeah.
Well, here's the thing.
There's only one way to keep a consistently high profile fan base as far as having a lot of people root for you.
And that's to win.
So, you know, Carson won at Talladega.
his celebration was spectacular.
And we all enjoy the controversy.
But it's irrelevant if you don't win.
Right.
And at this point, you know, he hasn't won again.
You know, they've had some good runs.
They've been qualified on the poll at Indy and has done some good things.
But unless you win, it all goes away.
And I think that even NASCAR is starving for the controversy
and for him to stay relevant, hoping that.
that they get to the next point of him winning again to be able to continue this on because
it is good for the sport. It is good to have those rivalries and things that go with things.
But the only way that it stays relevant is if you win. Yeah.
One positive from the press release as well as our show was mentioned in there.
Oh, really? Yeah. Joey Lagano was in there, which is, yeah, thank you for including
Happy Hour. NASCAR, we appreciate it. Yeah. Okay, so let's go back to the race. Final lap,
total chaos here. There's so much to kind of digest. When you kind of looked at what was transpiring,
what stood out to you the most about that final lap? It became really unique because of the fact
that you had the Penske cars up there as Ford's, and then you had Zane Smith up there with a Ford
and knowing the situation that Ryan Priest was in, it was like, oh, all the Fords are just going to
help Priest figure this out. And that was not the case because Cendrick was right on the verge
of not making it as well. So he, they had to protect the two cars.
car and then all hell broke loose on the back straight away when reddick got into the back of
of zane smith when when zane was was trying to block two lanes and not really committed to one lane
or the other and reddick went to throw it to the outside and just caught the back bumper of the of the
38 and out comes ryan prece who was on the on the bottom of the race on the bottom of the racetrack
there to uh to capitalize on that moment but kudos to zane smith for for being in position to to
have a chance there at the end, Reddick in position again to have a chance to win.
And you just never know how this is going to work out.
And you go back to the Daytona 500.
I mean, taking the white flag, Hosevar was leading the race and winds up crash going into turn
one.
And, you know, things worked out differently as the race continued.
So, you know, look, Priest was was in the mix all day.
He ended stage one, wrecked.
Finished eighth in stage one, wrecked in the grass with a little bit of damage and able to
to get that fixed up and get themselves back to the front of the pack.
But, you know, there's just, you knew it was going to come down to the pushing and shoving
and who was going to wreck and where they were, who was going to get knocked out of line or
whatever was, you don't know what was going to happen, but you knew something was going to happen.
It's only a matter of time.
Yeah, it's only a matter of time.
And then down the back straight away, I think NASCAR was going to let that race go with the
first part of the wreck.
And then Stenhouse got into the right rear quarter panel of Ryan Blaney.
And, you know, he got hooked head on into the end of the end of the end of the
outside wall going into turn three.
And then NASCAR was finally at a point where they were forced to throw the caution flag
there because there were so many cars wrecked on the back straightaway.
Ryan.
Ryan Blaney was very frustrated on the radio, obviously, with the 47.
What did you see from that situation with the 12 specifically?
I mean, I would go off and say that Ryan Blaney is, he's frustrated in that.
But that happens to him a lot.
It does.
Like a lot.
And it happens to do him a lot from the front.
Like, he never gets wrecked out when he's having a bad day.
He gets in from at Daytona.
He doesn't have too many bad days.
He doesn't have bad days.
And at Daytona, I think he's gotten wrecked from like the front, like two to three rows.
Frustrations boiling over.
Maybe like four times.
And they're never like small wrecks.
Like I remember the one a few years ago in this race, he got hooked by Ty Gibbs and got shot into the turn four wall head on.
So I think it's just like, man, are you serious?
Because they were wrecking behind you and you kind of think everyone's going to file out because
you're already beyond it and now you're thinking you're going to probably wreck closer to the
line and we rack down the straightaway. So I think it was a racing deal. It was a unique scenario because
two cars was below the yellow line and then you had the three car on the yellow line and then you had
Stenhouse on the outside of him. And the way that they, the two car came back up the racetrack and the
way that they wound up being, it kind of hooked the left rear of the 47. And it hooked the left
rear of the 47 and kind of turned him into the 12 cars, what it looked like to me.
Yeah.
Ultimately, one, on the safety end of it from the wreck, because I know a lot of fans, like,
let them run to the end.
It's like they were going, they were literally going to, but there are cars coming
full speed through the wreck.
And now there's another car sitting broadside.
And like, that's the hard part.
Like at some point, you got to, we got to try to use some common sense and like some
safety, like thought process in there.
And then to your point, though, with that wreck, I think.
think there were three cars going for the same, same spot.
Because you hear on the audio of the 47, you got one inside.
It was like inside.
Well, he's thinking one lane.
He doesn't know that Cindrick is further inside because that's off the racetrack.
Below the yellow line.
So they kind of all are converging there together.
And Ryan gets the worst end of the deal.
And it was a bad deal.
Ricky doesn't race like that.
No.
And I think that I think the other thing is, I mean, Cindric at some point has to get back above the yellow line.
Because he was avoiding the road.
wreck, which is what allowed him to go below the yellow line, as a few cars did.
But they have to merge back up at some point.
And there just wasn't a lot of give.
So he started using his door.
You know what the funny, you know, after that, though, like, so the caution's out.
And neither.
This is total Ryan Trees and Daniel Suarez.
Neither one of them guys left out of the throttle.
They're both like 80, 85% throttle going to the line because.
Is it really out?
Yeah.
Is it out?
Or is it not?
Where was it out?
I'm like, all right.
I'm just going to get to the line and make sure.
that I got there first.
You got to get that picture at the line first.
And that's what we show all the time.
That's right.
So two RFK cars advancing.
Chris Busher quietly doing so.
We kind of talked about that.
Like he's just sort of been there,
but we haven't talked about him a whole lot.
RFK got two.
Team Penske got all three officially in.
So it's going to be very exciting when it comes to the Cup series
to see how this all transpires.
I want to give a shout out briefly in the O'Reilly series to Mr.
Ryan Sieg, 424 starts.
It took him to get that first career win and you got it at Daytona.
Pretty cool.
I think back to Texas when he lost by.
I mean, by that much.
Yeah.
And I felt so terrible for him that day because it was just, it was a couple years ago.
But, I mean, it was so close to being his first win.
And he just made some mistakes leading up to it.
And when you look at this scenario for him and his family and this team and everything that they've put in to this series to be able to get to this point and do it at Dayton's.
Tona, pretty special moment and seeing his brother there in Victory Lane, helping him push the car into Victory Lane is pretty awesome.
When you see somebody in a whole family that has put in the effort to make this moment happen.
Moments that only happen in motorsports and that specifically seem to happen more so in NASCAR just because we have so many tears and things like that.
And people have been around for a long time.
There's a lot of people that have never won.
and I'm sure a lot of people on that team that have never won.
Oh, yeah.
Been only closer a handful of times.
That's huge.
I do also want to give a little shout out to H.B. Harrison Burton.
Oh, boy.
Yes.
Yeah.
So, you got, I mean, first of all, I want Riley to get better and get healthy.
I'm glad that if he felt like he wasn't capable of doing it, that he did the smart thing for his health and got out of their car.
But for Harrison to jump in and get an opportunity to come back and win again at Daytona.
pick.
I picked the car.
It just so happened
that HB drove.
It got us a 12.
No point J.B.
But Harrison,
you got me at 12.
I appreciate that at least.
And the funny thing was I was out with,
I was on the lake and ran into Coreyheim.
And Harrison was wearing Corey's fire suit.
It's 2311 fire suit.
And he said he texted him after.
He's like, bro, I lend you my fire suit and you got to beat me on track too.
I'm like, what the hell?
That's funny.
That makes a lot of sense now because I watch the video of Harrison getting in the car.
like he had to almost jump up in the car because the suit must have been a little tight.
I mean, Harrison Deloy, he's stocky kid.
Yeah, he's been in the gym.
He's putting on that dad weight now too.
Dad weight.
Dad,
Bob.
Yeah.
The interesting thing when you talk about first wins,
Ryan,
I had no idea that Ryan Priest's crew chief had never won either.
Oh, really?
That was his first cup win as well.
It's amazing.
A lot of first this weekend.
Something that is not a first, though, is the second days of thunder.
It was officially announced over the weekend with Tom Cruise was at the racetrack.
this was super cool. He's in the driver's meeting, spoke with all the drivers.
Jerry Bruckheimer, of course, was there as well, the director.
What do you think about this, Mamba? I know you're, like, really excited about it.
I think, I think. You can tell how I think about it.
He wants us in the film.
I got my city Chevrolet shirt on right now, you know?
Yeah, whoever the star driver is, I mean, we're more than happy to do a happy hour episode
to interview this cocky new driver.
It only makes sense.
I would assume that's what it'll be a cocky new driver.
Well, I mean, Cole has to be around somewhere.
too, right?
Yeah.
That's an intriguing part.
What's the storyline going to be?
And we know Anne Hathaway is in it now.
I wonder what part she's playing.
Yeah.
I love it.
I love the way they announced it.
It was super cool.
A very creative way to finally release it.
I really don't think people are
understand right now how important and big.
This movie will be for us.
Like the F1 movie was cool.
It, you know,
it was a world-renowned movie.
Cool.
Yeah.
We haven't had a movie talk about
us in the proper light.
Like not a drama.
Not a drama.
Just like what it is to be in NASCAR and be a fan of NASCAR and be a mechanic.
We haven't had that in a while.
And I think the Earnhardt dock kind of refired a little bit of that.
When that was, I'm like, man, we need more of these.
And the fact that we're going to get this.
I'm so excited.
It's great timing.
It's great timing.
Shout out to everybody involved with this.
I'm excited to see what happens.
Me too. Good stuff.
I wonder if they're going to put the cars in the race again.
They kind of have to.
No, I have to.
I hope so.
That's how they've done every movie.
I can't, I just can't wait to see how all this unfolds, like, where they're shooting and what the locations are, what tracks they use?
I also want to see who is the antagonists.
Yeah.
And, like, is the villain of the movie, like, an actual driver?
Are they going to use, you know what I mean?
An actor, yeah.
They could use it.
I mean, Denny Hamill would be a good little protagonist.
I have to say.
Look at you.
I already stirred that fun.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Keep Denny around for extra year or two just to, you know, because, you know, I'm.
I'm the same.
But we're all excited about Days of Thunder 2.
Should be really cool to follow the process of them filming that and what Hollywood does.
Okay, guys, next up is Darlington.
This is such a famous, nostalgic racetrack in many ways.
Let's pull up the Chase standings again, though,
and just kind of look at what we're going to be facing for all of these teams
and where everybody is at in the points.
Because when you think about this race, Kevin,
and everything it presents to the teams and the amount of pit stops
and how hard this racetrack is,
Like who has the best chance to rise to the occasion?
Well, I think this weekend will give us a little bit of light as to who's,
obviously who's going to be the contenders that fire off well and who's going to dig themselves a hole right off the bat.
Because that's usually the way it goes at Darlington.
And typically when you get into the playoff chase type style formats of what we're getting ready to go into,
majority of the time, those are the cars that you see up front.
But at Darlington, there's so many places to make a mistake.
So many pit stops.
And, you know, you look at the, you still look at the pit stop numbers
and that the glaring thing that sticks out to me is a 12 car.
And just where their pit crew ranks with what they do.
And, you know, can Tyler Reddick get back to that early season form
where he can roll off, you know, a few wins in the chase?
Same thing with Denny Hamlin, right?
he's been pretty quiet over the last little bit as we've gone over the last several races.
And we know that we've talked about the top six, right?
Those are where we think the champion could come from.
But Joey Lugano has been on a roll.
And, you know, they've had some great momentum as we've gone through these last couple months to be able to do that.
But the guy that could be the spoiler in all the Toyota party and everything that's happening up front, Ryan Blaney.
There you go.
What do you think when you look at the complexion of the standings right now
and who has the best shot here at this race?
I picked at the beginning of the year, Christopher Bell.
He is not won yet.
There's no way you're winning this championship without winning a race.
I mean, and again, he could have won four, but he didn't.
And I think that he's going to win.
And I think if he wins one, it might be kicking down the door.
And it might end up being three or four.
Open some floodgates.
Yeah, it might be a three or four deal in this chase.
I think you're right.
It's a three or four deal in this chase, man, he's going to be right up top.
But I also felt like at the beginning of the year, if there's one guy that you shouldn't count out, it was Ryan Blady.
And he has just been there all year.
Even when they struggled.
All year, man.
And so if he can, if they can figure out how to be consistent enough on pit road to not have catastrophic.
Not beat themselves.
Not beat themselves.
Just keep this whole, hold serve.
You got the driver.
You got the guy and the car is fast enough.
So we'll see.
But it's honestly, in a weird way, it's Toyota's to lose.
It's Toyota's to lose.
And if they lose, it's going to hurt bad.
It is based on what they've lost.
After a season that they've had this year, if they don't win the championship,
it's going to be gut-wrenching for the Toyota camp and everything that they've been able to
accomplish.
And like it or not, if Denny Hamlin doesn't win this championship, that's going to be the same
feeling that he's had.
I'm sure, yeah.
You know, because they've had a great year.
they've been the car that everybody has has kind of circled to go out and win this championship.
So it'd be interesting because you go back to smoke, you know, in their 2011 championship,
and you look at the run that they went on to win that championship.
You know, it's very much like a Christopher Bell situation.
And it hadn't won, didn't think that they needed to be there, all the things that happened that year.
and they go on to win five of the ten races.
And it wouldn't surprise me if somebody goes out and wins four or five of these races with just a heater as they go through the chase.
Listen, it's all about momentum.
Yeah.
The lights are bright.
The stage is big.
Oh, my God.
We're still on this close.
And he says that that doesn't bother him.
But, brother, there has never been more pressure to get it done because you are the number one seat.
Right.
You're the top dog to end the year.
That's right.
Get it done, big guy.
Hey, I'm glad you brought that up.
Because I'm a little frustrated.
With which part?
Well, I'm a little frustrated about the regular season champ not getting a trophy.
The fans laid in one.
That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard that has come out of this whole season.
The fact that we run 26 races and don't crown our regular season champ is an absolute fail.
I got to believe.
But we can sell a T-shirt that says regular season champion.
Look, man, like I get it.
when we changed some stuff
and they got rid of the regular season thing,
but that was a thing that was really cool
for everybody.
Like, like, it's 26 weeks.
26 weeks, and you dominated.
And you want something to signify that.
Yeah, and the people back at the shop,
they earned that.
You know what I mean?
And I felt like that was the great connector
between the 36 full race deal
and what we have.
I thought that was the piece
that made it all come together.
And without acknowledging it,
I think you,
it gets lost a little bit.
It does.
I think Denny,
the 11 group,
JJR,
they deserve that trophy.
Yeah,
that's a big mess.
Yeah,
it is.
I love that the Denny Bros.
made him a trophy,
though,
presented it to him
at the racetrack.
Yeah,
it kind of did.
Yeah,
so he liked the way that it looked.
At least you got a consolation.
Did you ever have any Kevin,
Kevin Bros?
Did you have any Kev Bros?
Kevin Bros.
The closers, right?
The closers.
We still have the closers.
Well,
the closers never left.
No.
They're still here.
They're still here.
We're still closing.
For other news and notes, the full schedule was finally released.
We kind of had this slow role of, you know, revealing various tracks.
And now we have the full body of work of what we're working with in 2027.
San Diego is coming back, which I know you had mixed feelings on initially doing it there again.
That's okay.
I see the, I see the vision.
The vision.
Yes.
And when you see the vision and they explain the vision of the military bases and wanting to race on other bases,
there's no possible way that you could get another.
base ready. That's right. So that base has done it and you can do it again. I'm okay with that.
It was a great event and going back for the right reason, I'm okay with that because if we go in
28 and find another military base and we have a couple, you know, the proper amount of time to
prepare the base and, but look, I'm all for the northwest. That's right. Northwest. Let's find a
base in the northwest. Which that is on the list because I heard Ben Kennedy say they presented the
Department of War with a wish list of bases.
They have to go kind of see like what can and can't happen, but they have identified the
Pacific Northwest as an area we need to be in.
Yeah, and timing.
Like, like every four years, we get a new president.
So a lot of things change, but hopefully we can, this can get locked in because it's good
for everybody.
It's just fun.
We get to go in new places.
We get to support our troops and give them the respect and some time that they, that they deserve.
We talk about all the time.
We do it.
We feel like we do.
it the best in sports, but this is a whole other level when it's like, no, we're going to come
to your house. We're coming to you. And we're going to put on a show for y'all. So that's
going to be cool. And I love the two off weekends. And I know we had the clash. We took it off
week. We went to Daytona. This year we're going clash Daytona straight back to back. But I like
the fact that we get Easter off and then we have another off weekend in August to be able to be able to
give the teams a break. Right. They just, they come back with a whole different mentality of
of where things are.
They're not as frustrated.
They're a little fresher.
And it's a great break for the TV partners to split things up.
Caitlin, is that break?
Is that break right at the end of the regular season?
I think so.
Well, no, it's in August.
It's right when USA takes over.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
So how about the truck series going to Bowman Gray next year?
Which truck series soon, by the way, to be the FedEx Freight truck series?
But they'll be a boom and gray.
I like that.
That's a great sponsor.
But I'm a little worried about that one.
I'll be honest with you.
Don't take your favorite.
Don't take your favorite truck.
Don't take your favorite truck.
And the only reason I say that is, is trucks are a little bit different than the Gen 7 car.
The Gen 7 car is tough.
You can bang into each other.
You bang into each other with trucks.
The fenders are getting caved in on the tires.
And so I'm a little worried about that one.
So that one could be a little bit of a little bit of.
The last time we had steel body cars on that racetrack was in the K&N series.
And Kyle Larson.
Corey LaJoy, Brett Maffa, bubble wallets.
That's what Chase Elliott, them boys were racing.
That's how long ago, Steel Bodies were.
And it was a show.
I mean, it was amazing, but
this is going to be a little different with the truck guys.
I mean, yeah, it's going to be entertaining.
And to your point, Kev, I do like how they drop.
People were mad, like, just drop the whole schedule.
Hang on one second.
When you drop it like that, it keeps us in the news cycle and keeps everyone talking about us.
When you just drop it all at once, you talk about it for a day or two,
and then it's gone.
I like the anticipation.
we just saw LeBron James just did the same thing.
Then one knew where he was going to go.
And during the World Cup, it was NBA, LeBron James,
where is he going to go in the World Cup?
It just keeps you in the news.
It allowed each track to kind of have their moment.
I agree with you.
I think they did a great job with how they released the schedule.
Yes.

Okay, so that's all for me, because now Mr. Mumbo is going to take over the microphone for the social tips.
Mumbling Mumbo.
Ladies and gentlemen, cold trickle.
Welcome to your favorite part of the show.
Mombus social sips.
All right.
We're going to start with, he didn't make the chase,
but he's probably going to win DAP points.
Now they have all the time in the world just to go get him.
Dionne Dawkins, offensive linemen, where the bills was with Ross Chastain.
So Dion does this deal where he oils up a watermelon, no ditty,
oils up a watermelon and then throws it in the end, you got to catch it.
Most of these videos, no one can catch it.
I bet not.
They're like wide receivers.
They're like NFL guys.
Ross, the watermelon wrangler himself takes a go at it.
Do you think he's played this before being a farmer at a farmer?
No, because I think he, look at him.
Nows it.
My God.
Listen, because Ross protects the watermelons.
He's a watermelon protect.
He's not going to let it hit the ground unless he wins.
Handler of the Watermelons.
He's a melon handler.
Yeah.
So that was pretty great.
I thought.
Dion's actually a NASCAR fan too.
He's been to a couple races.
I met him at the track.
Super good dude.
So sometimes the teams or the drivers, they make really funny edits and social posts.
Like after the race, like Monday or Tuesday, well, obviously we already record.
So this is from New Hampshire after New Hampshire.
Bubba Wallace has this awesome edit.
You guys need to listen to this.
I get the bumper bumper
Jesus
That's all I need
It became personal with me
Grab it
Bomper
Oh my dad
Yeah
Now it's my turn
William Knife Matt
Oh
Oh my god
Oh my god
This is an MMA
fight here
That is amazing
That was great
That was like eight different
like
random clips from different
stuff. Very creative, but it all worked.
It all worked. It helped tell the story.
My favorite was definitely Jackie Chan from
Rush Hour 2. Slow down, baby.
It's so funny. Good job.
Social team over there. Yeah, yeah, great job
by them. Do you have four?
No.
Okay, I had one more. Okay.
Frankie Munez.
Yeah. Frankie Munez
A racer
and obviously has come over to NASCAR.
He's part of the underfunded team. It's
been a struggle, but racing's really hard.
It's hard to win.
He just loves it, though.
When you get to win in anything, I think it matters.
So he won in the Preli, GT4 this weekend.
It was super, super emotional because Frankie's been kind of, he's gone through it a little bit.
He's going through some personal things on the back end.
And you can just tell you, he was super stoked to get that win.
He's all in on the Ford deal, regardless of whether it's in the truck series over on this side.
And he was just super happy.
And I got to talk to Frankie a little bit, so he was super stoked.
I just thought it was really cool.
I'm really happy for him.
I love it when guys get first wins.
Yeah, and even though he's not having results in trucks,
he just has so much passion for it and still shows up happy every week,
like just wants to do this.
Like, he doesn't have to do this.
He's a Hollywood actor.
He just wants to do it.
It's cool.
Yeah.
We do have two more, by the way.
I was looking at this thing.
You skipped the page.
And I was really, maybe I skipped a page or maybe, maybe a producer John didn't give
me the right page.
But these guys, these guys were racing on.
on Nguyenberg, Newenberg.
Not racing, it was like a track day.
Yeah.
Newmberg.
Oh, Newark.
I think it, Newmberg.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you, Nervigrain.
Yeah.
So keep going, buddy.
He didn't know how to say it either.
He wanted him to screw up.
Oh, I know what I'm saying.
But anyway, anyway, he's been trying to screw me up before this.
Anyway, check this out.
Oh, boy.
Hang on to it.
I mean, Kev, I don't think they, I'm shocked that they didn't demolish his car with no helmet.
Yeah, that's the crazy part, too.
Yeah.
Look at the guy in the passenger seat.
He's just smiling the whole time.
He's just, and after you hear it, he goes, huh, and they go, huh, and then just keep going,
which is not the same as Caitlin.
You know, Caitlin got to ride in the Bristol, and with Ross Chess State of Bristol.
This guy, I could not believe how fast he was ripping in this corvette.
Yes.
Like, you can hear the wheels, the tire squealing.
It was the scariest part when he got up against the wall.
Like, and it was seen with you.
Like, it's a very scary experience.
I gotta be honest.
Kevin's grin at near to year because he knows exactly.
I had my eyes.
Like, I couldn't even film because my hand was shaking.
Then I closed my eyes.
And I mean, just think about the right front spindle on that thing is, you know, probably only about that big.
Yeah.
That's the only part that scares me at places like Bristol.
I mean, oh boy.
Before that, somebody had hit the wall in the other car.
Oh, really?
The tire blew.
Oh, on the streetcar? No. On the other, the NASCAR experienced one. Oh, okay. That's pretty normal.
Yeah. So we had seen that happen. I watched Stewart do that one night. He had somebody to passenger seat in Charlotte and blew the right front tire.
Well, so my point is I had just seen that happen. And I'm like, oh my God. I don't know what this is going to mean.
Well, that car is probably safer than the NASCAR experience. Right, right. So, but it was, that was an interesting event, actually, because Bristol invited all these influencers out to experience NASCAR, most of them for the first time. And they got like a tour or
the racetrack, they got to do the ride-alongs. And it was, like, neat to see them, like,
taking it all in. And I think that's actually a smart play by a racetrack to have people come
out and promote it that way. You need to do more of that. I'm glad you had fun, though.
It was fun, Ross. So were you part of the event or were you an influencer? No, I had to do the,
like, interview with Jerry Caldwell and Ross. But they, of course, wanted me to post about it,
you know, so I did. Yeah. Yeah. That's great. Hey, that video had 200,000 views.
We know. That's why we used it in a mom and social sips. Yeah. How do you think of guys?
If it sucked, we wouldn't have used it over here.
We don't use crappy clips.
Man, someone
needs to get that man a taco.
That's our other, that's our other
social stuff. Look at this. My man, so
this is Terrence, T.J. Jackson,
he's a big fan of Bubba Wallace.
He's Jacked. Oh, not Bubba Loss.
Bubba Pollard, and he's jacked. And he's
also a security, not security.
He's a police officer. He
is that a poor deal? Yeah, yeah.
He travels. So Bubba wins this weekend.
And he is just running.
High step in his way.
He does that anytime bubble wins.
That's the reaction you get.
That's funny.
Yeah, I love Terrence.
Impressive high kicks there.
Yeah, he was getting after it.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I don't think anyone should run from him.
If you realize that's who the police officer that pulled you over, don't right.
Just stop.
Stop in your tracks.
Ladies and gentlemen, that is Mama's social sips with a feature of one, Caitlin Vinci.
Oh, thanks, Mama.
Thanks.
Hey, guys, we do have a mailbag question for the group from Pete Talbot.
He basically more or less
was saying he knows the talent to run 190
miles an hour, obviously. But he feels like
at the end of Super Speedway races,
the best driver doesn't always win.
So the question is,
how is Super Speedway racing a different
skill set? Yeah, well, it's a chess match.
And I think that there are guys
regardless of what you think of
a lot of times there are
situations where guys that are up there win
that you probably
didn't think should win.
But if you look around, it's a lot of
lot of the same guys up there all the time. And it is definitely a skill set to be able to
make the right moves, when to make the right moves, put yourself in a position, keep yourself
in a position, save gas at the right time while you're keeping your track position. I mean,
it is a different skill set. And there are certain guys that are way better at it than others.
And that's why you see the Ryan Blaney's, the Austin Synerx, priest has been up there.
I mean, there are certain guys that have been up there consistently. And I think that, you know,
it's not all the time that you see as Ane Smith up there, but you think back.
I mean, Redik has, he won the Daytona 500.
He won Atlanta.
He was there.
Yeah.
So my point is the guys that are good at it, you see them consistently.
The guys that aren't good at it aren't in that group.
And it is definitely a different skill set of playing chess.
You're not playing checkers at the Super Speedway.
And you have to be able to methodically maneuver those things throughout the day to keep your track
position and do the things you need to do.
And at the end, but, you know, sometimes it becomes a shoving match and certain guys that are
up there all day don't win the race and wind up.
There is a little luck involved in missing the wrecks.
Yeah.
And, and, you know, keeping a lead on a super speedway is wildly hard.
And two, people got to trust you.
Like, they want, they need to have to want to push you.
If they don't want to, they don't have to.
Right.
So if they feel like you know what you're doing up front, you're not going to put
them in a bad spot, then that, like, Dale was always so good at that. That's what
Dale Jr. was always so great at, I felt like was being the Pied Piper, um, and keeping everybody
in line. And they were like, well, I'll just follow Dale because he's so good at this.
He's, which helps, you know what I mean? Yeah. Helps a lot. When I started racing go carts,
we, we, we raced on a quarter mile at Thunder Road and we were drafting. I grew up drafting.
And so knowing when to make a move and like who to give a bump to, because they were going
to do the move. And then you didn't go with them and you went with the other guy to get like,
It's a lot. There's a lot of dance moves. A lot of dance moves. Thanks Pete for the question. Keep sending in your mailbag questions if you so desire. All right, time now for our last call. And of course, we got to start with grading the burnout for Ryan Priest. Because I thought this one was pretty good. I'm curious what you think, Kevin. Celebration was great. Celebration was great.
The celebration was great. Almost impossible to do a great burnout at Daytona because of the banking. You know, he had it. He had it stopped up against the wall and started the burnout. But when the tires started to,
lose traction.
It just kind of meander down the hill.
Petered down.
Yeah, to the bottom of the race track,
I'm like, oh, man, don't get high centered there.
Don't have to get the tow truck to come get the winning race car stuck on the apron
off the racetrack.
But average burnout, which is not going to be, you're not going to win the burnout competition
at Daytona.
So sorry for you about that, Ryan Priest.
But your celebration was great.
Yeah.
Up on the car with his team,
the emotion.
Everything.
We'll give that a mediocre B.
Yeah.
Okay.
There you go.
What'd you think?
No, no, no.
That's fair.
That's fair.
Also, at Daytona, because it's Daytona, it's different when you go to the start, finish line.
And you're in front of our stadium section there.
Everyone's going crazy.
That's kind of how you should do the burnout is right up there and kind of like just roast it until you can't do it anymore.
Smoke is rolling.
Then you get on top.
I think that's it.
It's about, get to the grass.
You only have so many options at Daytona.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You can't go on the grass.
Yeah.
But you just won at Daytona, so it's pretty awesome.
Yeah, no, it's pretty freaking awesome.
It's hard to not be awesome when you're winning at Daytona.
Speaking of winning.
Let's take a look at the standings as we close out the regular season.
I'm so excited.
Kevin.
Kevin picked Austin Cendrick, which did pick him up some additional points.
Mama had chosen Riley Herps, which obviously he was not in the car.
Either way, you guys got no points.
Yeah.
And you got last, which I am super stoked about.
First of all, that's just a regular season.
And I want to point out, I did not.
I did not text our group text saying, hey, I should be able to change my driver because
Riley was out.
I just rolled the dice with Harrison Burton.
So I feel like that was pretty good.
Okay.
Well, you aren't going to get a different pick anyway.
Yeah.
You locked me out from having a pick one week and didn't even tell me.
Caitlin, Caitlin, help me out here.
What do you mean?
What do you mean?
That's crazy.
You're not going to back me up.
So what are the rules now?
Yeah, what are the rules?
So you are 25 up on Caitlin.
Okay.
She's second.
For the regular season?
Title.
You're the regular season?
Do you guys make me a trophy?
No, you don't get a trophy.
No,
no trophy.
I don't get a trophy.
I don't see a trophy.
I'm going to,
I have to bring my own trophy.
I'm 35.
Yeah.
Back.
No.
Your 50 back is what John is telling us.
John is full of crap.
I am not 50 back.
That's crazy work.
50 back?
But freaking,
Ryan Preeze is 100 back.
You know what I mean?
Like, what are we talking about?
So it's 25, 15.
So you're,
You're 40 back.
Okay.
Is that right?
I don't know.
I'll give you that.
I'll give you that.
I'll give you a question.
No, no,
that's it.
She's got a second.
No,
so she's got a 15 point advantage on you.
I'll accept that.
50 back is crazy.
I mean,
a loser's got to accept something.
Yeah.
No,
at least have to have a chance.
Yeah.
And you are the loser.
Yeah,
but it's just going to make it better.
I'm a Tony Stewart this thing.
Watch this,
y'all.
Yeah.
Watch this.
I can't wait.
I like that quote.
And so,
and so because Kevin's leading points,
whoever's leading points picks first.
Okay.
Because it'd be too much of an advantage for him just to copy my pick.
That's fine.
I'm taking Chase Briscoe.
That's exactly what I was going to pick.
God,
we'll go and pick him.
No, I can't.
You're picking him.
No, you pick him.
No.
I'm picking Tyler Reddick.
Are you saying with Briscoe?
Yeah.
Okay.
You asked me to pick first.
I know.
That's fair.
I didn't even hesitate.
I know.
Go on Tyler Redick.
But see, that's how you know that my picks for the chase a lot because we're
both going to pick the same guy.
It's when you have to think differently.
That's where you go wrong.
No, I don't know.
It's when I'm trying to be creative and be fun.
Give me Ryan Blaney.
Okay.
Ryan Blaney has been really good here for multiple times and it just has come up a little short.
Yeah.
But I would not be surprised if you see the 43 in the mix at the end of this one, a non-chaise guy.
Yes, that's true.
He is his track.
He is always somewhere towards the front when it comes to Darlington.
Okay.
Well, Chase, it starts now.
Here we go.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, real quick.
Sorry.
What you got?
Do you guys remember your championship picks?
I don't.
Okay.
You,
you,
you pick William Byron.
Oh.
I did?
Yes.
You did.
Oh, that was terrible pick.
So,
if you guys want to pick it at the beginning of the year,
who'd know that they were going to be this bad?
I think we do.
We should.
Do you want to repick your champion?
Well, you got to do it right now.
I can't even remember who.
If you're going to repick,
we pick it right now.
Me?
Everybody,
if that's what you guys want to do.
You got to do it next week?
Yeah, I'll let you repick.
Who do you go first?
No, no, no, no, no.
You're sticking with Bell?
Yeah.
who you're taking
she's gonna go Blaney
watch her
bus
um
it's a
it's hard to say
yeah
12
I told you
okay
so you're doing 20
yeah
okay
what do you say
to Denny Hamlin
because he's a frontrunner
yeah
okay so
all right
I'm gonna
Christopher Bell
I gotta go with
Ryan Blaney
Denny Hamlin
I go with the oldest
guys
those of the champ picks
we're walking
I'm not going to do now.
I just want everyone to put an asterisk next to this
that I picked the same guy that I started with.
I have faith in my picks.
Who was mine?
The guy that I picked originally wasn't it.
Yeah, mine was briscoe.
If he ends up putting in an idea.
Well, we'll see what happens.
It's going to be exciting, guys.
Tend to go.
Can't wait for it.
Are you guys going to Darlington?
I might actually.
Well, Keelan's racing this weekend.
I'm going to Florence.
Cars to a race Friday night at Florence.
So if you're somewhere around Darlington,
come to Florence. I'm going to go to 40 minutes.
