Starting point is 00:00:00 I cannot believe that it's my birthday week. I also can't believe that I'm going to be 41. That is crazy. So I wanted to do a solo episode and talk about my 40th year, self-reflecting, where I'm going, all that good stuff. So come on with me for the ride of my 40s. When I was young, our representation of 40 was like the golden girls.
Starting point is 00:00:33 That is not 2025, 40. I mean, Eva Longoria, J.Lo, these women are in their 50s and they look stunning. So I'm not afraid to age. I actually think it's super badass. When you turn 40, you sort of don't give a f*** anymore. You're like, what did I care so much about what he and she thought or said about me?
Starting point is 00:00:54 But you do have... Hi. Should I tell ghost stories? Once upon a time, this. Right now I am very into designer bags, but I don't want to actually buy them. So I recently joined this thing called Vivrel. Here's the deal. It is a members only club where you can borrow designer bags,
Starting point is 00:01:29 jewelry, watches, even diamonds if you're feeling crazy. And when I say designer, I mean like Hermes, Fendi, Dior, Saint Laurent, you get it. It's all the good stuff. And the best part, you can hang on to whatever you borrow for as long as you want. No return dates. So if you fall in love with a little Chanel whatever you borrow for as long as you want. No return dates. So if you fall in love with a little Chanel number, keep it as long as you want. Or you can swap it out next month for something else.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Viveral is the first of its kind luxury accessories, members only club, providing members with access to borrow designer handbags, jewelry, watches, and diamonds. Members can treat the Vrelle closet like their own and borrow anything within their tier. Vivrelle has no return dates. Members can swap items once per month or keep items as long as they'd like. Memberships start at $45 a month with the most popular being the Classic tier for $119 a month.
Starting point is 00:02:19 There is no better time to sign up as June is filled with the biggest drops ever, with drops including at least $1 million of inventory weekly. The inventory is incredible from brands like Hermes, Fendi, Saint Laurent, Dior, and many, many more. And you can use code Chloe to get 30% off your first month of membership. Go to vivrelle.com and apply for a membership today and use code Chloe for 30% off one month of membership.
Starting point is 00:02:46 This code will also allow you to skip the VIVREL waitlist. That's vivrel.com, V-I-V-R-E-L-L-E dot com and use code Chloe for 30% off one month of membership. vivrel.com and use code Chloe. and use code Chloe. I cannot believe that it's my birthday week. I also can't believe that I'm gonna be 41. That is crazy. So I wanted to do a solo episode and talk about my 40th year, all the things that I've done, self-reflecting, where I'm going, all that good stuff. So come on with me for the ride of my 40s. I am turning 41, which is crazy.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I cannot believe I'm 41. I definitely feel like a child sometimes, but I love celebrating my birthday. I just love celebrating really anything. I'm not doing anything big this year. 41's not a big birthday, but I had the craziest 40th birthday, so that makes up for tons of birthdays to come. But yeah, it's not some big celebration,
Starting point is 00:04:00 which isn't a bad thing. I also love a chill birthday. Last year for my 40th, Kim threw me my Chloe Wood birthday in honor of Dolly Parton Dollywood, which I loved. But on my actual birthday, because we celebrated my surprise birthday was I think two days later, but my actual birthday, I had a pool party at my house, but just for the kids, some of my
Starting point is 00:04:25 closest friends and that was it. And that is like my dream celebration. So I love doing stuff like that. And as perfect as Chloe Wood was, I could also just do the pool party and be so, so happy, which I was. So for me turning 40, I literally was counting down the days. I promise you I had like a calendar and I was like, okay, six months and two days left. Like I was so looking forward to being 40. My 30s were incredible formative learning lesson moments in my life. And I feel like I got, hopefully, every lesson that I need in life out in my 30s. I'm like, okay, I did it.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I paid my dues, whatever, bad karma I had or whatever. It all happened. And I just was so excited for 40s. I also think seeing my sisters and how great their 40s have been to them, other friends of mine, their 40s are so good to them. When I was young, our representation of 40 was like the golden girls. I don't know if you guys know who the golden girls are, but it's like you turned 40 or 50 they're gonna send you to Florida and you live with some girls and you just go there
Starting point is 00:05:51 and wear a MooMoo's and like that's it. That is not 2025-40 like now I mean Eva Longoria J.Lo these women are in their 50s and they look stunning. They're just getting started. They're doing all these things like Eva, the things that I see even L'Goria doing. I'm like, yes, like you just get so excited. So I'm not afraid to age. I actually think it's super badass. And in my 30s, I remember, especially my 39th year, I made a, I would say 38th and 39th year, I made a really, really definitive decision and effort to do things that I've been too afraid or in my head to do well in my 30s. All things I know I can do, I was just too scared or I got in my own way. And not on purpose because things take years to create,
Starting point is 00:06:52 but I think the podcast was more intentional. Launching Cloud and launching XO Chloe. It just sort of happened that it was in my 40th year. I didn't know if it would take longer to launch because those things take more time. Launching my podcast in my 40th year. I didn't know if it would take longer to launch because those things take more time. Launching my podcast in my 40th year was just, that was more like, okay, let's do this. I wanna do it now.
Starting point is 00:07:12 This is the right time. Doing things that I was too afraid to do before and didn't realize I'd be doing them all at once, which is really exhilarating, a little overwhelming at times, but what better time than now? Like this is the time to do it. So I've had the most incredible 40th year.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I have felt so accomplished and proud of myself. I've done all these things that I said I was gonna do and I'm doing them and I think I'm doing them really well. I'm not just, you know, throwing up all these balls. I'm actually juggling like I'm making it work and I I'm proud of myself for that. I'm proud of what I'm showing my kids. I also think that anyone male or female you get older and you you think, damn, it should have happened already, or this should have happened. I should have done this. I should have done that.
Starting point is 00:08:13 And you can psych yourself out a lot of times. And I think it's really, really exciting that even when you have those moments of doubt, self doubt and all that stuff where you're you don't really know where you're going to go and you just feel like, oh, that window is passed. No, I think you can have it at any time. It's just on you. You have to have the confidence you have to have the you have to be strong willed, the mindset. And so for me that I did all these things, I would say later in life, I'm still young in my eyes, but people think like, oh, 40 or, you know, everyone's like, oh, you're 40.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Yes, I'm 40. Like, I think you need to spin being 40. I still think 40 is really young. So I love it. I love all the things I've been doing and I think everything's perfect timing. I feel like my Tatum a few years ago was too much of a baby to really leave and try to do all these business ventures.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I just think everything has been at the perfect timing. And I'm happy, I'm excited to see what 41 is gonna bring. I don't think this has just been my year. I'm claiming that this is my decade or decades. And I'm excited for what is to come. It's interesting. So I did a radio show called Chloe After Dark, not podcast or radio show.
Starting point is 00:09:44 So it's different. It was just a different energy. I think if I launched this when I was 30, I would just be talking about different things. I don't think I would be having the Jay Shetty and the Dr. Becky's on and the Mel Robbins. I'm sure who knows who I'd be having on, but probably not people that were going to be sure who who knows who would be having on but probably not people that were gonna be helping us and giving us takeaways it would probably just be a debauchery of an hour and chaos which is fun there's it's okay to have different versions of yourself and Chloe after dark was a little bit more like that then I had cocktails with Chloe. Like they were just
Starting point is 00:10:25 different, different versions of me. Not bad, not good. But this podcast, like every guest that I've had, I'm really proud about. I feel like even if you don't resonate with one of the guests, you're like, oh, I'm not into that subject. Somebody else is, but I feel like every guest has been solid. I think there's a takeaway and something you can learn from every person that's been on here. And I'm proud about that. I think we can all easily do salacious click bait things. And I just don't want to do that. I wanted to do things of substance and things that.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Peaked my curiosities and made me feel good. So it's a totally different vibe than what this podcast would have been if this was 10 years ago. My 30s, my self-esteem was shot more so my later, my second half of my 30s, like 35 and on, my self-esteem was shot more so my later, my second half of my thirties, like 35 and on my self-esteem was just shot. I wasn't the same version of myself. I doubted second guest and doubted every
Starting point is 00:11:35 single thing I did and just never felt like I was good enough. And what's crazy is I never felt that way before. I was probably overly confident, but not in like an arrogant way and like a fun silly way. If I had insecurities, I would laugh about them. It was just, it was a different me. I definitely didn't recognize myself, but almost I didn't know how to deal with me.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Like I didn't know how to approach myself. I did a lot of self work. You have to put in the work. You can't just say I want to be better. I wish I wasn't like this. You actually have to do the work to get better. And I did. And I still am all the time. But when you turn 40, at least for me, you sort of give anymore. You're like, what was I tripping out about? What did I care so much about what he and she thought or said about me? I'm sure I have my days. I'm sure there's days that I feel more insecure than
Starting point is 00:12:38 others or whatnot. But you do have You do have. It's okay. This happens for us. Should I tell ghost stories? Once upon a time. That's all I got. Hi! What are you guys doing here? Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Oh my gosh! Happy birthday to you!
Starting point is 00:13:07 Yay! Are we all going to blow it out? Yeah! Oh my God! Happy birthday to you! Yay! Are we all going to blow it out? Okay, one, two, three! Yay! Guys, this is the best surprise I've ever had in my life. carrying the mental load of it all, women have been facing these barriers head on for years. But that's starting to change.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Opal is empowering women by putting birth control in their control. For the first time, women don't need to ask permission, you don't need health insurance, and you don't need any opinions when deciding to take the daily birth control pill. Opal is a daily birth control pill that's FDA approved, full prescription strength,
Starting point is 00:14:21 and estrogen free. Plus there is no prescription needed. You can find Opal online and at most major retailers. Having access to something as essential as birth control without having to navigate the usual obstacles is really a powerful shift. Whether you're managing a busy schedule, balancing multiple responsibilities,
Starting point is 00:14:39 or simply just want more privacy and autonomy in your healthcare decisions, Opil offers an easier, more accessible option. Opil is birth control in your control, and you can use code Chloe for 25% off your first month of Opil at opil.com. That's code Chloe at O-P-I-L-L dot com. Check out Opil to see if it's right for you. Okay, we're going to take a break to talk about something really important. And if you're listening to this podcast, I'm guessing that you're already a fan.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Reality television. Now, before I go on, I want you to know that this is a safe space. If you've ever thought to yourself that you could win the Bachelor or you've screamed at the TV during a Love Island recoupling, you are not alone. Because guess what? Hulu gets it. Hulu understands that reality TV is not just a guilty pleasure. It is a full-time emotional commitment, a lifestyle,
Starting point is 00:15:30 a sport, honestly. And if you're someone that keeps up, not just with the Kardashians, but with everyone's drama, Hulu is your spiritual home. Hulu is the place to go for your favorite reality TV. Whether you're into the drama, the tears, the backstopping besties, or the steamy summer hookups that are somehow always on a beach, Hulu has it all. We're talking the Kardashians, obviously. The secret lives of Mormon wives, and yes that's as wild as it sounds. Gotta Get Out,
Starting point is 00:15:55 and Vanderpump Villa where the drinks are fancy and the drama is messy. If you're into glamour and romance, things are heating up on Hulu. Catch new seasons of Project Runway and Bachelor in Paradise this summer. And coming soon, catch the all new reality series, Love Thy Nader, starring the Nader sisters. Plus, don't miss an all new season of Love Island UK, streaming only on Hulu. And if you're not watching Love Island UK, I don't know what you're doing with your free time.
Starting point is 00:16:20 It's amazing. So the bottom line, whether you want fashion, passion, or people behaving badly in front of a camera, Hulu is the place to go for all of your favorite reality TV. Hulu gets real. So this is the most amazing surprise. All of the kiddos surprised me for my birthday, right? birthday, right? Yes. And you know, most, I don't think any of them have even been here and have seen the podcast space in person.
Starting point is 00:16:50 So this is very exciting. And do you guys have any questions you want to ask me? No. No. Okay. How old are you turning? I'm turning 41. You said you're turning 9.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Well, in my head I'm turning nine, but would you want a nine year old to be driving you anywhere? Yes. I don't think so. Say if the nine year old, he would be driving me. Auntie Coco, now are you gonna start liking Mickey Mouse
Starting point is 00:17:15 because of Tayda? Yes, I think I wanna start liking Mickey Mouse because of Tayda. Ah! I love that question. What other questions do we have? You guys, who is the funniest in the whole family? Me.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Oh my dad, my dad, my dad. You guys need a dance break? Okay, one second dance break. Hold on. One second. One second. One second. One second.
Starting point is 00:17:41 One second. One second. One second. One second. Okay, Dream, what's the question? I know you have questions, girl. Nothing. He's doing some ASMR. ASMR?
Starting point is 00:17:55 True, true. Okay, say it. You had to put another... What you just asked me. Oh. Okay, what? What do you want to say? You're having a dance party and playing AEPT. You just asked me. Okay, what? What do you want to say?
Starting point is 00:18:09 Do you guys like the dance parties we have? We'll play APT at the end to dance. My birthday wish this year is that we all continue to be healthy and happy and live life to the fullest until the end of time. Not even for a year. And I just want us to stay together and never be divided. Who makes the best food in the family? You. I make the best food in the family?
Starting point is 00:18:42 Thank you. What's your favorite food your mom makes? Quesadillas. Quesadillas. Shut your mouth. Mine is mine. Mine is um, mine.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Pink waffles. Pink waffles? That's what you love that I make for you? I mean the pink and blue waffles. The pink and blue waffles. Diamond waffles. Huh? Diamond waffles.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Diamond waffles, of course. What kind of birthday party would you throw me? Throw you? It says... Or me? It says what kind of birthday party would I throw you? Me. Me.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Okay. He goes on me. I would throw you right now, probably a Hello Kitty birthday party because you love Hello Kitty right now, but it changes, huh? Oh, Care Bears. Well, Care Bears more for me because I'm trying to brainwash you to love Care Bears.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I do. Yay, it's working. So you. To go on armpits. Oh, a luluburkin party. True, what do I do that makes you laugh the hardest? No, I don't want to. You don't have to say tickle tickle. Taytay, what do I do that makes you laugh the hardest? Oh no, oh no.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Taytay. It's going to tickle me. Okay. I don't think he laughs a lot. Da da da da da da da da da. Sorry. If you't think he laughs a lot. What's the funniest thing we've done that made you laugh? The funniest thing that each one of you guys have done? You guys make me laugh all the time. Pranks. Oh the pranks. The funniest thing that you guys do. You guys do funny things all the time. What do you think when I am your age? I cannot think about you being my age.
Starting point is 00:20:29 I can't hear you. What do you like when you are moving? I don't know. You are our age. I was super silly when I was your age. Guess what? I thought I was a dog until I was four. I love to eat out of a doggy bowl and bark and I thought I was a dog. I did.
Starting point is 00:20:50 And one time my uncle didn't like someone so he asked me to bite her leg and guess what I did? I bit her leg because I thought I was a dog so I was a very silly kid. very silly kid. What was your favorite thing this year with us? Oh that's so hard. My favorite thing with you guys this year. Going to Palm Springs and finding five frogs for the first time. I do love our Palm Springs trips. I love when we go to Palm Springs and we found so many frogs.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Or IG. Did I have internet in the 1900s? First of all saying the 1900s is crazy. It is. Nineteen thousand. No, I... Yes, we did have internet. One minute. But it was called Dial Up. What's your favorite present we ever gave you? My favorite present is all you guys. And those bases you guys make me. What is your favorite movie we watched together?
Starting point is 00:22:02 High School Musical! High School Musical! High School Musical! High School Musical! High School Musical! High School Musical! Boo, boo, boo, boo! People are laughing. Boo, boo, boo!
Starting point is 00:22:19 Oh! Yes. Can we eat the cake now? Yes! What? All right, summer is here. More sun, longer days, and hopefully more time to do the stuff you actually enjoy. If you're anything like me, spending hours cooking inside is not on my list.
Starting point is 00:22:38 I don't really like cooking to begin with, and meal prepping is the last thing I want to do on a beautiful summer Sunday. And that's why I've been turning to Factor. Factor sends fresh, chef curated meals right to your door, ready to eat in just two minutes. No cooking, no mess, just solid, delicious food that fits easily into your busy summer days. Starting point is 00:22:58 or just trying to relax, Factor makes eating well simple. They offer 45 weekly menu options, so you get a ton of variety. It's small, colorful, and basically helps me get everything that I want, with zero hassle. I know we all use Venmo to pay people back or split dinner, but here's the plot twist. Venmo has a debit card now. Yes, a real one. And it connects straight to
Starting point is 00:24:25 your Venmo balance, so you can use it to pay for anything. Food? Of course. Drinks? Always. Ubers? Groceries? Your favorite sneakers? Gym memberships? Coffee? That one influencer's makeup club? You name it. If you've got Venmo money, you can swipe for it. And what I love the most? You're just spending money that's already in your account. So the second someone Venmos you for lunch, boom, it's already ready to cover your next target run or whatever random thing that you accidentally bought online at midnight.
Starting point is 00:24:55 And for the girlies who always pick up the tab, here's my pro tip. Have your friends Venmo you before the check drops and just pay with the Venmo debit card. No credit, no waiting, you just swipe and go. But here's the best part. The card literally Venmos you back. You can earn up to 15% cash back at select merchants. It's like a credit card but without the credit part. No bills, no interest, just rewards. And it's actually really cute. You get to pick the color and I chose one that kind of matches my phone case. It's really cute. It looks very intentionally aesthetic.
Starting point is 00:25:26 So yeah, if you're not already using the Venmo debit card, you are seriously missing out. Head to venmo.me slash debit to get in on this. You know what I've been really loving this summer? Escaping to a space that feels completely mine. There is something really satisfying about having a good outdoor space and something that feels like a little backyard oasis. Whether it's for sipping morning coffee or hanging out with friends or just soaking up a little sun, having that perfect setup makes all the difference.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And that's why I've been shopping at Wayfair lately. Seriously, they have got everything you need to totally level up your outdoor space. I'm talking patio sets, lounge chairs, outdoor bars, hot tubs, yes, hot tubs, fire pits, gazebos, and more. My patio now looks like a resort, but the drinks are free. I recently snagged a super comfy outdoor sofa and a few of the Adirondack chairs from Wayfair. And honestly, my entire experience was great. Starting point is 00:26:38 My style is pretty laid back, but still polished. Kind of like a chic kickback vibe. I was surprised how many cool, unique finds they had, even on a budget. So whatever your style, whatever your space or budget, Wayfair has got your back with a ton of inspiration and free hassle-free delivery. No excuses to put off the summer home goals.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Don't wait, make your outdoor space your dream oasis today with Wayfair and enjoy it all summer long. Head to wayfair.com right now to shop a huge outdoor selection. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Wayfair, every style, every home. That was honestly the best surprise. We've had a few moments in this studio
Starting point is 00:27:19 where the lights have gone out. So for those of you that are like, God, she didn't seem that concerned that the lights went out. I wasn't because that's happened three, maybe four times. I can't remember, but I definitely three, we had to buy a generator for it. So I was used to the lights going out. Wasn't that surprised by the lights. I was so surprised by the squad that came in with the balloons and the beautiful faces and the birthday cake and what a great surprise. And it also just reminds me of how great and happy life can be and celebrate especially, I don't know, I feel like sometimes
Starting point is 00:28:01 we get, I used to get sad on my birthdays and now there's just no reason to so I'm so grateful for the 40 years that I have had on this earth. I'm so grateful for the highs and the lows and all of that. But I am so incredibly excited for what's to come for the next 40 I think sky's the limit. I don't even want to say this out loud but I will one day you girls are gonna be teenagers and then adults and then get married and then be mommies and then I'm to be an old lady and I'm going to walk with my cane. And I'm so excited for that, you guys. I really am. Then why do you say choose like only sixth? Well because in my, I don't ever want you guys to grow up.
Starting point is 00:29:00 It makes me so sad every day. And just knowing that now next year you're in third grade, you're in second grade. I my heart this year whatever the next school year my heart can't handle it and I just think oh my gosh how did this happen so quickly and when you guys are young And when you guys are young, like right now to go to your next birthday, you're probably like, gosh, time is so slow. I want my next party. You've already thought of the theme. You thought of what you want to do.
Starting point is 00:29:33 You've thought it all. But time is moving like a snail. When you get older, time moves like lightning. And I'm like, wait, but I just had my Dolly apartment party. Remember my Dolly apartment party? Remember my Dolly apartment party they call her Dolly apartment instead of that's what they think her name is and I'm not gonna tell you I think it's cute that that's what you guys call her. No and so Dolly what? Apartment? Can you just tell us a little game? Dolly Parton. I said Parton. But what I'm saying is I feel like I was just celebrating my 40th and
Starting point is 00:30:16 now I'm gonna be 41 and then soon before I know it I'm gonna be 45 and it's all gonna be right but what I'm trying to say is it goes in a blink and before you know it you're older so enjoy every single second because every moment is a blessing and a gift. You have just a little bit of time to be young so you guys enjoy it and be as young as you want to be because then you're just an adult and so it goes quickly so enjoy. And I'm going to be a teenager? Yes but that's still young.
Starting point is 00:30:56 It's such a short time until let's say you're 25. 25 and under is going to be young and then when you're 25 and older it just goes like that. When you're 25 how old is she going to be? She'll be 27. I can't even talk about it. I mean like I said you fantasize about your life, whether it be, I don't think someone, I've never pinpointed 40, but just my adult life. And you dream it up to be one way and then it goes another way. Not bad, not good. It's just different than what you've dreamt up.
Starting point is 00:31:41 And I love my life. I love where I'm at in my life. I love who I'm surrounded by in my life. Right now, always, like I just feel like I'm in such a great space. I have such a great tribe around me. I've made really, I've been really aware of who I even do business with. What I want, those types of people that are in my life because life is too short and I just want to be surrounded by kind good hearted decent people at their core. And then of course I want you to be really smart and great at what you do and build me up and I build you up. I want all those things. But I think to be at a point where I know what I deserve and to set those boundaries for myself
Starting point is 00:32:26 I think I'm just in a really really healthy great place and I don't ever see myself going backwards What do you think you're gonna be like when you're 40? In your head, what does 40 mean to you? Like an old lady What'd she say mean to you like an old lady what she said you're old when you're 40 you're old when you're 40 a little bit so do you think I'm old What is your birthday wish for your mom and your kids?
