I was like, sorry, Tim, didn't give you my all. Sorry, audience, didn't give you my best. But today? Let's unpack that. What was it? Was it the energy? Was it the fact that it was the first day? Yeah, you know what it was?

I'm having my yearly, I'm addicted to Lays, salt and vinegar potato chips. If you smash a whole bag, a family-sized bag, of Lays Salt and Vinegar Pater chips at night and wake up the next morning, your throat's not going to be feeling good. So I was feeling a little dehydrated. I was like a raisin dried up. So my throat wasn't there. I was mispronouncing shit. I felt a half step slow.

And that's not me. That's not me. I'll tell you right now, I'm like nobody cares. Nobody cares. Like I host that show probably half the time, right? And like I think I have conditioned the audience over years of, hey, people are just going to mispronounce shit.

I'm trying my best. Yeah, yeah. You know, like you just got to keep going and nobody will notice. Thank you, it's in the back of their brains. The worst is when you sit on it, you know, you just got to. read it. They know I fucked it up. I know I fucked up. We just got to keep blazing the trail.

The worst part is like the one that will that'll haunt me forever is like the cold open where like a cold open is Greg's idea. Oh, you fumbled that. And there was one day where like I showed up just didn't, I could not see the words that I was reading. And usually like it's the thing of I've always waited to fuck up the cold open. And I've always nailed it. And I'm like, oh, maybe I'm just never going to fuck it up. And then the one day I've like, I don't know what it was that day. Oh, blessed. Just totally just, you know, fumbled the cold open. open. And in the middle of that, in my mind, I'm like, I'll just tell Barrett to redo it. And then I'm like, no, because we have to create the new YouTube link. And like, once we're alive, no backsies.

Once we're live, we're alive. And I'm not Greg, right? Greg fumbles something and he rolls right into the bubble. He'll turn it into a bit. He'll turn it into a character. I find a top 10 list or top 25 or top 50. I bring it back to you, Tim, whoever's on the ones and twos. We judge it for your amusement. We're talking about the top

best 25 sports video games of all time. And let's talk about it. Racing games. Let me get into the blurb here. Okay. Okay. Read the blurb. Read the blurb. Well, the subheader here is here are the best games in all of sports history. ring basketball, soccer, wrestling, football, skateboarding, and more. All right, when I get into the blurb, they say sports games are a great way to live out fantasies. Athletes get to see themselves in ways they couldn't imagine, and players get to participate in fantasy by doing incredible things like rocking Mike Tyson or beating Tiger Woods. That's what makes sports games so great.

You get to experience the athleticism in the palm of your hands. It's actually quite exhilarating. With so many sports games, which are the best of the best? Is there even such a thing as the greatest of all time? we wanted to figure that out and so after much deliberation we put together a list of the 25 best sports games ever trying to be as

comprehensive and historical here as possible and wow it's quite exhaustive and then they start to list things I'm not going to save them just for the surprise factor but they don't really give more as far as context of what's going to be on the list so but they tease this a little bit they tease us a little bit they tease us with some wrestling and some skateboarding

which means you know normally wrestling to me when I thought of just sports before we brought up racing wrestling was in. Now we get into skateboarding, which leads into snowboarding, which leads into X games, Olympic titles, right?

Like, how far in the bag are we going to go and racing? I mean, if it's a sport, it's a sport. Here's the thing about racing. Sports if it's sport. Is if I'm making this list, it's only 25 games, so there's not that many slots to go with. It's just tough.

25 is a small number. So I think for the racing conversation, if I'm complex and I'm making this list, I I include maybe a couple racing games but I'm very selective because I think

racing is its own genre Yeah But NASCAR I feel like NASCAR is a sport NASCAR NASCAR is a sport F1 F1

I feel like that type of racing game might fit within the margins margins of this conversation But I better not see a Mario car on here Now oh That's where I step

No, in is, listen, I love burnout. I don't think you can put burnout on this list. No burnout. I think the most racing you can go, like the furthest you can go down the racing line, it has to be a F1. NASCAR F1. You're not letting me get into Fortza Horizon. Not Horizon.

Motorsport. Okay. Maybe motorsport. Grand Tourismo? Maybe, yeah. Okay, how about need for speed underground? No. Or need for speed hop pursuit.

See, that's what we get a little. little sticky and there's 25 because I could give you I give you probably seven Mario sports games and it's tough to cut a number of those Mario sports games because they were impactful it's gonna be very interesting on this list yeah I'm very excited about this one and here's the thing right I'm happy I'm excited for this list for a few reasons yeah one it's you right we got you on the on the panel and you are probably the biggest sports game person here at kind of funny right and I'm here to back you up when it comes to like the arcade sports stuff and of course back of the day like I play FIFA and like you know all of us I think here

play sports games to some extent, some more than others, right? But I think we got the right people right people here. Um, but then on top of that, right? It's a list. And I feel like we've been on a on a good run when it comes to the shit list. And I feel like this is, this is going to be the proof of the pudding, proof in the pudding of like, how much are y'all into the shit list? Does this have the clicks? Does this get the clicks? NBA. I'm going to start writing this shit down. Let's go back and forth, because I have about 20 tabs open of games. I'm ready to run you through my snowbike mic sports games. Now, these aren't my ranks. I don't need the list, right? I got...

I'm spinning these off the top of the dome. Off the dome. So let's go back and forth. You said NFL Blitz. NFL Blitz has to be on there. Of course, NFL Blitz is definitely a top. top 25 sports game to me. It would make the list. Now, there is some variations in NFL Blitz.

Of course, we get into annualized titles. We get into certain years. Blitz 2002 versus 99 or whatever the years were. And then, of course, Blitz the League and Blitz the League, too, where they broke off from the NFL, but they added so much. They made that really an 11-on-11. I think it's still 7-on-7 football, but it made it more. The presentation felt more like an actual Madden game, but then they added in the

Mortal Kombat. I got, oh my God, you just broke my knee in half, and we got a steroid him up and send him back in. NFL Blitz might have been my first, outside of like a Mario or something, might have been my first, like, arcade sports game that's like that. I had the demo disc, um, I had a PS2 at the time,

but I had the demo disc for the PS1 game. Um, and I would just play the NFL Blitz demo over and over and over again. And there was something so satisfying about like taking out of dude, him being on the ground and then running right back into him and like taking him out again and just like, suplexing him and doing it. all that stuff. That stuff was super fun.

Playing with your friends and because you shared the same screen with your playbooks, you'd go up, up, up three times to go invisible mode so they couldn't see what play you were picking, but it didn't matter because there was no penalties. So we were just wiping out all your wide receivers at the beginning anyways and you'd be like, can't

do that. You got to let them at least catch it. And they're like, fuck that, I'll do whatever I want. God, great times. All right. NFL Blitz. NFL Blitz on the list. I'm going to say, I mean, NBA Street Volume 2. That's top 5. So now the fun part becomes You have NBA Street 1 through 3. You have NFL Street 1 through 3.

FIFA Street and FIFA Street 2. Now you start to get into the sequels. Which one is the best? We know which one it is with NBA. NBA Street, volume 2. Where's NBA Ballers? It's not on NBA Ballers. Listen, we're talking about it's top 25.

Okay. Hey, hey, I like it. Listen, I like NBA Ballers. But we have to give love to ballers. We have to give love to Ballers. It's not top 25. It's not top 25, but we have to get love to it, though. You have to give love to ballers.

on the idea that Stefan Marbury was on the cover. They went and they said, fuck that. We're not doing 3V3 anymore. We're doing 1 V1. You're going to buy a half-court. You're going to buy a mansion. You're going to buy cars. You're going to buy chains.

And it was like, what is going on here? But it felt right for the time because that's when Def Jam was so big. That's when Fight for New York was getting popularity. And it felt like it was just like kind of the perfect evolution of what you were playing with NBA Street to match that energy. God. What a time. Like that? What a time.

Yeah. No, I love that. NBA Street 1 through 3. Would it be easier to go sport by sport? Because, like, I think that's an interesting thing of when we're picking NBA games, there are so many NBA games that we can fit. We can make a top 25 basketball games of all time. Easily.

Easily. So when we're talking about basketball, we're talking about basketball. I sit on basketball. Let's still on basketball for a second because I'm saying NBA Street volume two, NBA Jam has to be on there. NBA Jam has to be on there. NBA Jam will be on there. NBA Jam, yeah, NBA Jam said,

the tone for many games, especially inspired NBA Street, of course, to be a game, that Arcady NBA experience. Yeah. It will be on there. Now, here's some fun ones, right? You have the NBA Jam kind of like alternative, which was NBA Showtime on NBA on NBC, which had Shaquille O'Neal on the cover. That was when you were kind of,

it was almost like Blitz, but NBA Jam edition. So you could put in the little three-digit code to get different power-ups with big head mode. you could draft a Wolverine as one of your players, but it was NBA jam, but taking up one extra. It was NBA jam to 11. Do you remember, didn't baseball have like MLB? They did?

Hits, MLB. MLB Slugfest, I want to say, but I'm not. Yeah, chat, let me know which one it was. I think it was Slugfest. I was like the Arcady one. NHL hits was the Arcady one. And MLB also had one where you throw the ball real fast and hit people in the head and stuff.

It was great. That's great. And Tim Kitzrow, is the voice that you know from all of them. Boom, Shaka! Yes. That's Tim Kitzero. You know that voice from all these things.

Yeah. Okay. Should we continue to stick on basketball? Yeah, let's stick on basketball. So we go from NBA Jam to, of course, NBA Showtime on NBC. But that's not going to be on there. That's not going to be on that. But that's a good honorable mention.

If you played it, you know it. Then we get into actual basketball games. Kobe Bryant court side on the N64 was one of the first 5V5 true NBA 6. Sims to try to start getting into the next generation, right? Where you had the 3D graphics. You were actually playing traditional basketball on your screen. Because the N64 will also have Madden at the time that did this where you're like, oh shit, we're like trying to play a real sport

on this janky controller, this crazy system that can barely process it. But it was happening. I like that. Now, do you think that ends up on the list? No. Because here's the thing, right? Again, we're talking about so many sports and limited entries. And when you're talking about like SIM basketball,

I think you have to have one from NBA Live and you have to have one from NBA 2K. Oh, okay, yeah. And you can get one of each. Wow, that means that this time you're giving us four or five. And I've not even mentioned college hoops yet. College Hoops is off the board. It's too close to NBA Live.

Because it is essentially NBA Live just re-skinned in the A world. I do not think that we will get a Now, hear me out There's NCAA football But there's also college game day There was game day football I don't think we'll get that Opposed like Madden and stuff like that

But I think we'll talk about game day When we get to football I think that maybe there's more of an argument But so now you're saying NBA Street Yeah NBA Jam I'm saying NBA live And a 2K

And a 2K 11 So four basketball games Are going up Yes And I think you just I think you clip it up I think once you get to four, it's like, okay, that's I like this. Blessing, I like this. Yeah, I do like that a lot.

Is there, okay, so what's the more NBA callouts? Hit me with it. Back in the day when you had NBA Street, you also had other ones like and one basketball. Oh, you did have the end one. I forgot about it. And one had its own basketball game. Or my preferred NBA Street over NBA Street was street hoops. Street hoops went five v.5, traditional basketball, but with the street flare and you would go from city to city drafting new players that were almost more and one like as opposed to stretch and players like that or NBA players. It didn't have an NBA license.

So I want to make sure we give some love to and one and street hoops that, you know, usually don't get the shine. Now I also want to give love. It's not going to be on the list. But I want to give love to Shaq Fu. Shackfoo? Not a sports game. But like sports adjacent.

You can give love to Shaq. I want to give love to Shaq. He deserves it. How about how about backyard base? Basketball. You were going to get backyard game on the list for sure. Is basketball the one, Mike? Now, can I tell you which one it will be?

Which one? It will be baseball. It will be baseball. Okay. Now, that's not the most fun to play, but backyard baseball will make the list because backyard baseball was the first. It was the best at the time.

But soccer is more enjoyable. Basketball, football, all more enjoyable. Never played hockey, but I will say it's a point-and-click game. So baseball is kind of like the slowest, the most boring, as opposed to the other ones, which you will play the most. Now, for 2K, I'm going to write down 2K 11 for NBA.

This is the one that was on. 2K 11. Yeah, this is the same one that was on the top 100 list. This is the Michael Jordan one. I think this was like a landmark year for 2K. For live, which was the one, I know they had like the dunk contest in multiple. You remember the dunk contest mode? In live? You could pull the Kia in and he was jumping over this.

Yes. And it was just a fucking quick. Oh my gosh. Like, am I crazy to think that like mid-2000s, like 2004 NBA Live was like, an all-time basketball game. That one had Vince. Oh, yeah. NBA Live. Because I don't know if I'm like this for remembering.

No, no. I'm going to tell you a story about NBA Live and the 2K. Tell me. That I will never forget. I watched the real life changing of the guard from NBA Live to 2K. So it was 2008. I'll vividly remember this. 2004 to 2008 was all about NBA live.

Everybody wanted NBA live. But 2K was on the rise between probably 2K6 into 2K3. 10. And at 2K8s, senior year of high school, I'll never forget this. This kid, Damon Zellig, bet me $50 that he could beat me in an NBA game. And I said, I'm the nastiest player at NBA Live. There's no way. And he said, no, no, we play 2K at my house. And I said, fuck that.

No one plays 2K. And he goes, oh, no, we all play 2K. And so he forced me to battle him in 2K. He beat me. For the $50? For the $50? And get this blessing, that was the end of NBA live. I never went back to NBA Live. It was always 2K.

So to me, the milestone is 2008. Yeah. Was the end of NBA Live and the changing of the guard to NBA 2K. Which I think if you see the sales and of course the moment when we canceled an NBA live, like live and in person. It was only a couple years later. You're right. That was the flip. That was the moment bless.

Yeah. I remember it was, I mean, it was PS3 360 era, right? Like halfway through that where I remember going over to my friend Laura's house, Laura was on like the high school basketball team and like she was all about like her life was basketball to this day she coaches basketball like shout out my girl Laura shout out Laura man that's awesome

but I remember like going over and she had NBA it must have been 2K 9 2K 9 or 2K 10 and looking at it on the PS3 and being like this is real life like this is not this can't be a video game this looks too good like those games were benchmarks for like their gameplay right but like for the graphics and how like high fidelity those games

were they're incredible to look at you can put on NBA 2K today put it in different different camera modes and your family will walk in and think it's a real basketball game. Yeah. You will look at the sweat off of Zion Williamson and go, oh shit, that's real sweat coming at me. Yeah, exactly. But you also said, is she single for Mike.

Laura, Mike is not Laura's type. I'll tell you right now. Laura was on the basketball team. I'm trying to tell you. Who Laura is. Now, Laura, I think might have, might be engaged. So the fun part about 2K, 2K also brought in the multiplayer aspect of, oh, we're not just playing play now.

You pick a team. I pick a team. no, we're taking it to the street and you're creating a my player. And it is now you one on one, 2 v2, 3v3, you're going to the pro M 5V5. 2K changed the game of how Hoopers want to be seen because, yeah, as cool as it is to play now where you're the Sacramento Kings, I'm going to say Warriors, I want to be me. I want to be Snowbike Mike. I want to bring the ball up.

And they were like, yo, what if we made my player, multiplayer, changed the game forever? You will never see another basketball game that, doesn't have you as the star and as the focus, especially in a multiplayer situation. Love that. I love that. So am I missing? So I have four basketball games here. A quick shout out.

Shout out to college hoops. Shout out college hoops. Just like college football with Madden and, of course, college hoop with NBA Live. It was NBA Live just re-skinned in a college setting. They did a fantastic job with March Madness, all the schools, all the kids. That was great. You got to give love to college hoops. I'm trying to think there's a 3V3 freestyle video game on Steam.

now that we don't really give a lot of love to. Is it good though? I don't know, bless. I don't think it's great. Because I remember what's the one that came out probably is like maybe tour 2018, 2017-ish, basketball arcade game. It was kind of the

return of, same same kind of vein as that three-on-three basketball thing, right? Kind of the return of GM slash streets. NBA playgrounds? Yes. NBA playgrounds. When they try to capture that again. Yeah, and it didn't work. It didn't work. Because they also did wrestling. Brawl stars or something like that

Well they did WW2K Battlegrounds Battlegrounds is what it's called Yeah yeah uh-huh uh-huh I think I think you've nailed it With the basketball Yeah street so for basketball we're going NBA Street Volume 2

It's funny this is gonna take We're gonna get to add before we get to the actual list We're getting deep in that chat But for the basketball section We have NBA 3 Volume 2 NBA Jam NBA Live I'm putting 2005 on there And then NBA 2K11 I love that

So let's talk about football NFL Blitz You're gonna have Now we got to rewind Yeah a little bit before that, Tecmo Ball. Yeah. Will they put respect on Tecmo Bowl?

Now the question is, it's very old, but it did set the tone and kind of put the stage of like, here's where we're at. If Tecmo Bowl isn't on this list, this list is probably invalid. Okay. I said it. I'm saying it. He said it. Wow.

I'm saying it. Okay. You know? So Tecmo Bowl, now we get into the days of NFL Blitz. We go on with the generic NFL Blitz or would they dare put Blitz the league? I would go generic. Like, I agree. I mean, I'm not, I'm not played as much of Blitz the league.

But that's like what, PS2 era, PS3 era. Yeah. Somewhere around there. I remember seeing gameplay and like, I don't know, man. Original NFL Blitz just had some sauce to it. I agree. Had sauce to. NFL Blitz is going to be high. I think NFL Blitz might be top 10. Yeah. I think NFL Blitz might be top 10. I'm all about that. Now we play the game of NFL Blitz.

Now let's talk about NFL Street. One through three again. So here's the fun one. Did you play three? Do you love one the original? Boys, two the best, similar to NBA. I think two was the best, but I also think that you might not get NFL Street on this list. I think NFL Street. I'll say it. I'm going to say something insane right now.

NFL Street is more fun to play than NBA Street. No. NBA Street has more cultural impact is a great game. But NFL Street is more fun to play than NBA streets. I don't think, here's the thing. I do think that there is an argument. I think people will automatically go, no, NBA Street volume. to you, but I played a lot of NFL

Street, and NFL Street, I think, I don't think you are crazy for saying it. I don't think you're crazy for saying that. That said, I think, think of the fun, when you think of football games, though. You would run off the, you would wall run blessed to jump off of things. You could wall catch.

You could throw nasty back behind the back passes with your quarterback. You know what, man, let's write it down. Let's write it down. They had great music. They had a world tour. They had all the NFL teams. You were drafting players every time you beat them to come on to your team, just like NBA Street.

They had the formula down. So my worry, because I think you're right. I think if me and you were making this list, NFL Street too might be like top 10 on this list, right? It might be one of those ones. My thing is, it's twofold. One, I don't think people give NFL Street its flowers as much as NBA Street volume two. I think that might be reflected on the list. And then also, I think you run into the risk of having too many street games.

Because, like, we're going to get to soccer. If the Fiva Street's going to be on there, right? I don't think Fever Street will make that, no. I don't think Fever Street makes top 25. Fever Street gets some love and honorable benches, does not make top 25. I think that's fair. Okay, I think you're right. Here's a fun story for you, another fun story.

Hit me. Oh, man, I have so many great stories of NFL Street, but here's a cool one. I bought a PS2 recently, past, you know, decade or so, trying to relive some of those glory days, right? I found out there was an NFL Street. Three. I never knew NFL Street 3 with Chad Ocho Cinco on the front.

I couldn't believe. I think that game is a myth. It was real blessed. I saw it. Like, I know NBA Street 3 with Gilbert Arenas on the front. No. Baron Davis. Yes, Baron Davis. But then you have Chad Ocho Sinko. on number three and I'm like, I've never seen this.

I don't know where this is. And every time I plug in the disc, it will never turn on. That's so funny. I think there was, there's a larger conversation to be had here, Mike, about EA Sports Big and the drop off after the twos. Because it seems like they had those original entries, NBA Street,

or NBA Street 1, NFL Street 1, FIFA Street, right? But then like, they had a turn where they were like, all right, now let's make sequels to all these and all the sequels are going to be fucking incredible. Like 10 out of 10 video games. And then somewhere there was a shift where like MBE Street Volume 3 didn't hit nearly as much as MBA Street Volume 2. NFL Street 3, again, I didn't even know it released until like maybe years after it released, right?

And then you go on from there and you get MBA Street Home Court and you get like the SSX game that came on on PS3. And there was also a PS3 if it was a street game that nobody like cared about. You'd love to look at the culture at the moment, why those didn't hit. Were we shifting to more now we want to go back to simulation titles? Was it NBA 2K was all of a sudden? let me be my player and I was playing those kind of street moments but with myself and my friends. Was it

hey we're just burnt out on this because it was coming out at such a rapid pace of one to two to three to home court to phenom where it's like these are too many games. Was it yeah it's just a weird time. I think maybe it could have been like feature creep like maybe they after you after you hit perfection with NBA Street volume two I think you look at and go

what do we add to this? Like how do we make this better? And honestly like I don't know if there was much to build on there Like I think you really just maybe should have just made the same game again and didn't touch it or something. Maybe just update the roster or some shit or add a new mode. Like I think maybe they just got too cute within. That was also like I think maybe during the turn of the generation of, you know, new consoles weren't that far away. We're getting into 360 getting into PS3. So maybe they were focusing on fidelity.

Like I don't know. What happened there? So now continuing with football, back to football. So right now we have NFL Street, Tecamo Bowl. Volume 2 has to be on the list. I agree. I think it has to be on the list. the list. I will not be surprised if it's not, though.

Okay. So now we get into the Maddens, right? I brought up Madden back. I will never forget the Brett Favre football on the N64 that had a red game cartridge that I would play nonstop. And then into Madden after that with all of my favorite athletes on the cover, right? So you have Madden. You also had at the day and time, NFL fever bless where Xbox was making that. Then you also had NBA or NFL 2K. So you had a bunch, you had like three big heavy hitters. And if you ask kids, people will probably light up for 2K. Some people

will say, oh man, I loved fever. People loved Madden, of course. Some were bringing like quarterback cones of vision. So you'd be playing, but you'd have to have the cone of vision on the wide receiver to throw the pass to them or else he wouldn't, as opposed to Madden where you can fucking whip that thing anywhere

on the field. It doesn't matter if you're looking or not. Cone of vision was cool. First person mode on some of these was crazy. I think there's a right answer here though, right? Like, Madden, I think because Madden ended up being the most popular one and the most successful one, I think

if you're making a list like this, you go, all right, it's going to be Madden, which one was the best Madden? Yeah, but we're telling me we have Techmo Ball and the Blitz. Yes. We can't put four football games? You only can put three? Well, like NFL Street, too. Oh my God, NFL Street, too. And here's the problem, because I think

I think this is where you put a college game. College football has to be on this list. College football should be on this list. College football. Don't forget that 2K was also making an MLB baseball game. And they had crazy commercials of like, if you pitch a perfect game, you get a million dollars. That shit was fucking crazy that people were trying to do that. I tried. It was fun. Yeah. Of course you did. That's sick. That's six shit. We were saying all-star baseball. I forgot about all-star baseball.

You'll get a FIFA. Pro evolution? You're going to get a pro evolution. You get pro evolution. Wow. Yeah, you're basically going to get a pro evolution from like mid- 2000s. Okay. Like maybe 2000 4 or 5, I think somewhere

around there. And then a FIFA from early 2010s. Maybe mid-20s. Anywhere in the 20s. I was playing FIFA way back in the day. It's crazy how much soccer has been in our lives. I'm sure you too blessed. I think about going to Cousin Peters' house, who was a big soccer player. And like all we did when we went to Cousin Peters House was playing

insane soccer games way back in the early 2000s, probably the late 90s, where it's like, how are we playing soccer? When you think back at the way. How is this even fucking possible? Yeah, because that shit was fun. Like I remember playing I was looking up flash soccer games back in the day. I used to be on like

the mini clip and shit playing soccer flash games and then that evolved into me being at my cousin John's place back when we lived in Nigeria and he had a computer and I would be obsessed with like playing FIFA. It must have been FIFA 2004, 2005 or some shit and then moving back to the US and then eventually

buying FIFA 2005 for PS2 playing that forever. And then like once me and my friends discovered FIFA 10 and like one of them had a PS3, oh dude, it was done. It was over. Like we're playing FIFA nonstop. I mean, you'll know it. And I'll give the hot take, but it's not a hot take because I think everyone will agree.

Soccer, aka football, is a video game that can bring anyone from anywhere together. College dorm rooms, kids from other countries that you've never met, you traveling around the globe. if you put FIFA soccer on a television screen anyone and their mama can pick up the controller start playing and smile and have fun FIFA is a year. I mean soccer is a worldwide sport. It's the biggest sport. The video game though is probably one of the few video games that everyone on planet Earth could pick up and smile

and come together and have a good time. I was listening to KFCD this morning and you guys were talking about like EAFC and underperforming and like the state of ultimate team or whatever right? And like I wasn't on obviously I wasn't on there so I couldn't give my my viewpoint but like as you guys are talking about it, I was thinking about the fact that I think even if Ultimate Team ends up not be not hitting the way that it like has hit in the past they're going to find something else because guess what?

EAFs like soccer as a video game, EAFC is here to stay no matter what. So like even if the mode is making less money, guess what? Give it a few years. They will find the other money making mode to put in there. So some shoutouts for soccer. Of course, we gave some love to Mega Man Soccer. I wanted to call out. Yeah, we write that down to you.

World Sensible Soccer. those weird games back in the day. Honestly, might make the list. I think it might. Might be one of those weird ones. If they have like somebody from the UK, now let me give you, let me give you Snowbike Mike's favorite soccer game,

top three soccer game of all time. Tell me. You got to give some love to Mario Strikers, of course. You got to give love to FIFA like you brought up. Sega Soccer Slam. If you've never played Sega Soccer Slam on the Nintendo GameCube or the original Xbox PS2, this was one of the go.

This was different teams made up of different, you know, themes that all had superpowers and you were playing 4 v4 kind of arcadey indoor soccer. Blast. I love that. Let me hit you with two. That could be on the list. Football manager. A sensation.

Crazy. A sensation. I would love to play that one. I would try it. It would be too much for me. I don't think I could keep up with it. So you don't actually, so in my mind, you don't actually watch football. It's just a screen with the.

players jersey numbers and it's telling you what happens. Like as like, maybe. Yeah. Because what I like to do a couple years ago, Bless, you know you had it in the questions. They had AFC Richmond, aka of course Ted Lasso's team in FIFA. I wanted to do a franchise with them where I just let it play in the background while I'm folding laundry and living life, but watch the soccer games.

They wouldn't let me do that. So I would just do quick games. I mean, Scott by or sort of first name in chat says, no, you watch the games play out. Tricky says, no, you see the game happen. Wow. So maybe football manager. could be for you. So that's one out throughout there.

I mean, you could do that. I could see 18 because that's when they really started doing like the story stuff. Yeah, that's a tough one. Because it's like they started so strong and every kind of year since then has been so like iterative. That's a tough one. My mind goes to like 13, 14 when they really started to like figure that shit out. So we're thinking MLB the show or NBA 2K11. I think it's solid picks for how this has been going.

Hit me with them. All right. At number two, we got NBA 2K11. This is the Michael Drew. Jordan one like we were just talking about. Yeah. And this was, again, like a landmark title for NBA 2K 11. This fucking killed NBA Live.

It's fucking crazy. This definitely killed. This was the nail in the coffin. Yeah. What was the year that NBA Live like was about to come out but then didn't come out? Is that 13 or was that 11? I think that was 2014. Yeah.

Somewhere in this window. But this is the end. Yeah. This is when they started telling story moments with Michael Jordan and everybody else that you would see from the years moving forward. Yeah, this is it. This is the moment when NBA 2K became the juggernaut. Man, I just, I have so much nostalgia for playing this game.

I loved NBA Live so much more than this. The controls felt way better. I mean, you want to talk about taking your, your NC4 to school. I took my PS3 to church. This is back when I was still in, like, heavy and church. Take my PS3 to church all the time. We're just playing either FIFA or we're playing NBA 2K. Yeah.

And it's just a blast every single time. Yeah. Change that camera angle. So we're looking, I forget what the name of the camera angle was, but it was like, you're looking down the court. Yes. Right. And you have to rotate as all the professional kids do.

That's the right way to play. And let me tell you, man, fucking plays are being called. of course, don't forget your boys. So like Mike was commentating NBA 2K pro-am hoops for like community tournaments. And then they made the NBA 2K league. I was watching kids who were spending hundreds upon thousands of hours a year, every single year, grinding this game. I was talking to kids who this was their life.

Every day they'd come on, play six hours of NBA 2K with their friends, grinding away to be the very best. They would know things about the stats and, how you'd have to build your player that no one would ever understand and know hundreds of dollars being spent by them wait what um what did the heat look like this year like who was all who's playing for the heat uh jimmy buckets is still on the heat jimmy butler is on the heat uh you have tyler hero is on the uh heats in 2k 11 oh no in 2k 11 my apologies oh shit um when did lebron go to 2k 11 because i'm trying to think of like what the

ESPN NFL 2K5 is still widely regarded as the best football game

ever made for good reason. An official licensing deal with ESPN allowed for sports center cut scenes and commentary from Chris Berman. Players had accurate face scans and almost unheard of attention to detail in the PS2 era of graphics. It felt much closer to what you'd watch on Sundays. This ability to play games from an in-helmet first-person camera angle, while not perfect, was also unlike anything we had ever seen before. You could fill the crib with unlockable mini-games and memorabilia and Carmen Electra challenged you to games for prizes.

The whole thing, this sounds insane. Oh shit. The whole thing was over-the-top nonsense in the best way possible. All the extras aside, the game was just a fun football sim. Oh, and it was only $20. Check that out. That sounds insane. Okay, I get it.

This one had T.O. on the front. And if you watch the recent Madden Dock that they put up on Prime Video that I talked about a while back, they actually have moments of like, oh shit, this team is about to eat our lunch. What are we going to do? So, yeah. Shout out. This was definitely it.
