Yo, what's up? Welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Monday, April 28th, 2025.
I'm on your host, Blessing. Adioli A Jr. joining me is The glue, Kevin Coelho.
The glue. Oh, the glue. That makes a lot more sense.
You could be the Blue Prince. No, he's the Blue Prince.
Janicelloa, you are dressing blue. How's it going?
Good. I thought I'd bring the vibes to like a nice place by dressing like Paddington today.
I appreciate it. Yeah. I feel the energy. Good, good. I feel comforted.
I have marmalade under here if you need.
Oh, perfect.
Perfect.
It's funny because you're in town and we've just never had you here.
Yeah.
Which is insane.
We were like, when we were in the planning meeting, we're trying to figure out who to have on the Blueprint Spolercast.
And I think it was like Dan Reichert that came up or somebody.
And like, I think Barrett and me and Roger are all like, Jan's in town.
Jan from Giant Bomb is here.
And so welcome to the panel.
It's lovely to have you.
Happy to be here.
And we also have from Easy Allies, the one and only Michael Huber.
yo paddington two easy 10 out of 10 oh my guy yes that's all my backlog of movies i said you to see
it's all right oh you're the first person who i've heard you like it's it's fine

bad thing the fucking u.s president like what we're talking about phanos adjacent yeah okay
well we're all here to talk about blueprint
Prince, a game that many will consider
to be a possible goatee of the
year. We'll have to talk about that more. It's certainly a contender, right?
We can all agree. Contender for sure.
We're going to talk all about it because remember
this is the kind of funny games cast.

some of your thoughts and opinions as YouTube superchats
as we go. Remember,
we're an 11 person business all about
live talk shows. Right before this, you got
KFDD where we talked all about
new Ghost of Yote details straight from
sucker punch. After this, we're doing our
last of a season two, episode three, spoiler cast
and then it's the kind of funny podcast, detailing
my Japan trip, and then
it's an Nvidia sponsored Vowd Stream
followed not by Escape from Tarkoff, because you talked about this before.
We're not playing Escape from Tarkov. We might, we'll see.
one day.
What?
Planes are always in flux here.
Who knows?
Mike always comes with the new idea.
Mike got an email today.
Of course he did.
Mike,
Mike, figure it out.
All right.
Tell me something at 5 p.m. on a Friday.
We should stick to that.
We can save that.
I actually totally agree with Barrett.
If you're a kind of funny member,
today's Greg Ways about the other games
in franchises,
he'd love to deep dive a podcast on
with the devs like our ESO show.
Thank you to our Patreon producers.
Anatoly Ost,
Delini Twining,
Carl Jacobs and Omega Buster.
Today are brought to you by Imperial and Oro Frames,
but we'll tell you about that later.
For now, let's start with topic of the show.
Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots, Tots.
I wanted to witness it, you know?
Let it bask over me.
It's the Blue Prince Spoiler cast.
I brought my Steam deck out.
That's how you know it's serious.
All right, so I can play through the game
as I'm talking about the game.
Greg, put all these details in here.
But if you're here, you already know what Blueprints is.
You already know that it's the first person puzzle role.
like game. You already know that it came out
April 10th. You already know that it has a
92-on Metacritic. You might not know that, but it's a really good
game. On our games cast review,
Jason Schreier,
who was on, gave it a 10 out of 10.
Barrett Courtney gave it a 10 out of 10.
I think I tentatively gave it a 9 out of 10, but now
that I've beaten the game and I'm further into it,
I'm a 10 out of 10 for this video
game. Let's start
with Kevin. Kevin, first of all, have you
beaten Blueprints? Yeah. You've rolled credits.
Beaten is also a weird word to use.
I mean, that's the thing. We got to
46, right? That's what we say when we say beat it.
Yep. And I think I got there probably around like 24 hours into the game, which was just
awesome and heartbreaking also because my like first or second run, maybe it was my first
run. I got right up to it and it was like, oh, there's no door.
Yeah. You know what I mean? What am I missing here? And it's just, the game is so, so rewarding
and so good at building you up and, you know, you pick up notes and you're like,
like, so much of the game isn't just getting to the end.
It's about understanding all the puzzle pieces and seeing how they fit together.
And by the end, by hour 24, I had multiple options.
I think I might have had all three doors open, too.
So it felt really good.
But I don't know, how deep we're getting in spoilers here?
Spoiler territory.
If you're watching this, if you're listening to this and you don't want spoilers for blueprints.
One, why did you click a blueprint spoiler cast?
But then also, this is your last warning.
Get the fuck out.
Now, as far as how deep we want to get into spoilers,
this is an interesting conversation,
because there's credits rolled,
but then there's, like,
still a lot of puzzles and a lot of stuff to get into.
There's postgame, there's stuff beyond that.
And so, I think we can talk about the,
I think everything is on the table,
but let's not, like, just give blatant solutions
to, like, post-game stuff.
Like, we can talk about the fact that there's letters,
we can talk about, like, sanctum keys or whatever.
Like, we can talk about it.
But not necessarily where they are.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
I like that.
Yeah.
Unless there's like an agreed, like, we shake hands on, all right, let's talk about this thing.
Okay.
Okay.
If that makes sense.
I don't know.
Totally does.
Because I also, I also don't know what I don't know.
What I was about to bring up is very simple.
Okay.
And it's just, it's created a lot of complications in my game where my foundation.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Okay.
Okay.
Second level.
Must be nice.
No.
I mean, it was, it's nice for when you're like figure out how to open it and now you're going
back and forth.
but when you have to make the big run and for your first time getting into room 46,
it's,
it makes it quite a challenge.
And I got to the point where opened it, went back up and I was like two steps away.
And it's like, all right, I guess one more run.
But then I found an apple and I made it in.
Oh, nice.
Yes.
Let's go.
But I was also, I've been playing a lot on my portal just because it's convenient.
You know, the family wants to watch on TV.
Thank God for the portal.
I was having a dinner or like dinner was about to arrive with some
Paulus cousins and I was like oh open door 46 I guess I'll just have to skip this
video for now so it wasn't until like a week later that I was talking to Barron he's like
oh like there's hints in that video that you should go back to the room and I was like
okay burned a lot of time that I could have used going into that room and figuring stuff out
and learning more puzzles yeah how many how many days are you into blueprints now how
How many hours? I think I don't know the hour count. Okay. Because like, I'm not going to lie to you, a lot of falling asleep in bed.
Yeah. Waking up and I'm just spinning in a room and I'm like, oh, thank God, my steps are still there.
Same. Yeah. But I think I'm somewhere around day 74. Okay. Okay. Yeah, you're deep. God damn. Oh, yeah, yeah. Jan. Well, also, Kevin, if you give a number score.
Oh, 10 out of 10, easy. Ten of ten for Kevin. Jan. Uh, going on the giant bomb scale, five out of five, easy, peasy. Hell yeah.
I think I finally got to room 46 around day 50,
but I was doing a lot of fiddle faddling around.
And like I kind of just came to terms with myself of like, okay,
I kind of know how to get there.
I'm going to try and solve all these small little things
and get like some doodads going.
Got really, really into the upgrade system.
Yeah.
And hoping the permanent upgrades.
The permanent upgrades and hoping that I get a specific combo of a room.
providing a certain resource for another room.
Again, I don't want to get too spoiler.
I mean, I think you're talking about it.
I needed to get the electric eel in the aquarium.
So, wait, okay, I'm very, I don't know what this means.
I've only heard of this.
Okay, so you know when you get an upgrade disc and it like shuffles the different options to upgrade a room,
I had the option for the aquarium.
And then like the first two are pretty good.
Like you get two keys or get two gems or whatever.
And then the third one was electric eel upgrade acts as an alternate source of power.
Really good.
Interesting.
So instead of having to draft up the boiler room, if you draft like a room that needs power and it's right next to the aquarium, boom, you get power over there.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I got to room 46, around day 50.
I think I'm around day 70 as well.
and hour count
not going to lie
I also accidentally left it up
and running during a meeting
and I forgot that I tabbed out
so like the hour counts like
all maybe up in like the 70s
80s but part of that's kind of inflated
Gotcha yeah
Huber where are you at?
Yo!
Also 10 out of 10 game
no doubt about it
yeah I got to the
I just like
like that this game is as hardcore kind of as you want it to be because there were so many times
early on where I was just fumbling through building rooms. I mean learning even learning what a step
is. That was like moment one. You know, I see that I have these footprints in the top corner.
I'm going in rooms. I'm wandering around. I'm like, why is this lower now? And then I start
realizing, oh, every time you go in a room, you lose a step. Just from that basic knowledge,
and then how that continues on throughout the game,
I think is what makes Blueprints so freaking special.
And then it just became like,
okay,
well,
I really like roguelite games.
So I'm just going to try and fill out my book of rooms.
So pretty much every time I saw a new room,
I would just build a new room.
And then as I kept trying to build the new rooms,
I just kept discovering like small little things.
And then I think I,
I accidentally built the greenhouse one time and there was a lever in there.
And then I was pulling levers and doors are opening.
So really for the longest time,
I was totally just stumbling my way through this game until things started to click.
Until I started to take the knowledge of the prior runs into future runs.
And then I just started like noticing things.
And I just,
I really love that organic learning.
element of blueprints because it's never like insanely complex there's just kind of a lot to
keep track of i think that's the difference of why i really like it a lot because some puzzle games
you know i think of talos principle and it's like here's a really insanely complicated puzzle
but then blueprints is like here's like 20 or 30 really subtle
clues and puzzles that you can tackle and that's what i love about it.
I think the subtlety about it is one of the very special things because, like, I was
going back and forth between playing Blueprints and playing Expedition 33 during review.
And there was a day where I had done like maybe two or three days of playing Blueprints
and I put it down and then I switched over to playing Expedition 33.
And as I'm like going down a path in Expedition 33, like, I'm in a room where like the lights
are turning on one at a time.
And my brain automatically tried to figure out what the lights meant.
What's the pattern?
What's the pattern?
Yeah.
I'm like, what pattern is it trying to tell me?
And I was like, no, there's no pattern in this game.
That's not the kind of game that it is.
It's the fact that like blueprints, at a certain point, you learn to pay attention
to every single fucking thing.
Like, I learned to pay attention to the paintings at like day maybe 25 or something.
I feel like I was late on that of like, oh shit, I got to start keeping track of these paintings.
I wanted to ask, like, are we all taking like physical notes?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm taking like a lot of screenshots.
Okay.
And then I have a Google Doc.
where I've taken some notes depending on, like the things that need notes.
I don't like writing shit down as much.
I mean, do you have somewhere a grid and letters?
Oh, yes. Let me see if I can open it up in a show.
Because, yeah, at a certain point, I figured out how to make a grid.
Oh, that's nice.
I learned how to make like a spreadsheet in cool docs just so I can keep track of this shit.
Yeah, and so yeah, that's what I did.
I guess that doesn't come through on the camera, but trust me, it's nerdy.
Yeah, I mean, I definitely, I have two sheets of notes, one where,
it was just the messy one.
And then I have another one where it's like,
all right,
you've earned your way up to the clean sheet of notes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So for me,
I am on day,
day 60,
put in like 36 hours,
something like that into the game.
And I've just now,
as of yesterday,
hit the point of,
oh,
I got to find these sanctum keys.
I,
like,
I guess the question I want to throw to y'all now is like,
where are y'all at in the game?
We've all hit credits.
Do you have like a current mission that you're on right now?
For me, it was trying to figure out how to,
so I accidentally found my first sanctum key.
I was just hanging out in one of the rooms,
just trying to like decipher what was going on.
And like I didn't pause it,
didn't have my blueprints pulled up.
And I was just like staring at the clocks,
like looking back and forth.
And then like out of nowhere, like the dinging goes off in the clock tower.
I'm not going to spoil what you have to do.
And then the cinematic plays, and I'm like, okay, cool, I guess I'm going there now.
Something's happening.
Yeah.
And then I'm now on the hunt for like how to do this very hyper-specific clock puzzle.
But now my current mission, I guess, is I have the four blue flames.
And now I'm messing with some of the workshop combination items that you get and trying to figure out where all of that stuff goes.
Like, I think I've gotten all the doors you can use with a powered hammer, I think.
And now I'm playing around.
I just got the powered hammer yesterday.
Oh, it's great.
It's great.
And, man, I had a run here last week when we had our meeting on Friday where I was just
quietly in the meeting, but like doing stuff.
And I got the hammer and I got everything open and the game crashed on me.
No.
And the game crashed.
I mean, I had two sanctum keys in my pockets.
Oh, that burned.
On my way over.
And it was just like, okay, nothing you can do about it.
Just be strong.
Dude, the non-linearity of this game kind of blows my mind a bit.
Because it's funny how I feel like I'm so far and at the same time so far away from like the things that I need to know and the things I need to do.
Because like, have you guys entered the sanctum rooms yet?
Yes.
Have you not figured any of them out?
No.
But I know, here's the thing.
I know what it all means because I checked out the book, the, uh,
In the book, there's a gimmie.
Yes, there is a gimmie in the book, but I haven't unlocked that room.
I've unlocked two other rooms.
So I know that, like, getting into it, right?
Like, I know that there's, I need to figure out the realm and, like, the, like, what they're known for.
What they're known for and all this shit, right?
And, like, I don't know.
I don't think I know how to figure those out, but I have ideas of how I could know.
Yeah, I also have ideas.
Like, are we allowed to talk about that?
Okay, okay.
Because, like, go for it.
One area I've been staying away from just because I don't get a lot of.
lot out of it is the school room.
Oh, okay.
And the outside shed.
Yeah.
But like, the school room gives you more classrooms, and I've only gotten one or two
classes.
No, I did one run where I did do the school room, because there's something else in there
that I think you might need.
Okay.
And, uh...
Oh, you're talking about the flame?
Because I got that.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'm missing one flame.
I don't know where it's at.
Okay.
Oh, okay.
I know what you're talking about.
I know what you're talking about now.
Yeah.
There's a different school thing.
Oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, so when you get more classrooms, you learn more stuff.
Yeah.
And I think that I just need to double down on more classrooms.
How far have you gotten in the classrooms?
No, I've only done like three of them.
Oh, okay.
That's what I'm saying.
Like, that's the thing that I've just not paid attention to.
And like, in room 46, there's a big map thing, right?
And you got to put numbers on there with pins.
And it's like, okay, so once you know what sanctum goes to what pin,
And you know, you're going to figure out stuff.
And it's like, I can't like, so now my next run is going to be, I got to double down on classrooms.
Yeah.
And here's the thing I want to address for people watching and listening, right?
Because Megan Reed is like, just spoil everything, please.
The problem is I still want to play more with this game.
I try to preserve enough of it to where we can talk about it freely, right?
But also, there's so, I don't want to talk so much about it that I just like, I'm like, okay, well, I know everything now.
The game is so unique, though, because, like, Grub and Dan.
a giant bomb, they've spoiled a bunch of stuff
inadvertently for me, and
I've gotten to those points that they were talking about
and, like, the methodical
process of unraveling the puzzle
is still, like, foreign
to me that, like, despite them telling
me what I'm going to get out of something,
it still hasn't really spoiled
the experience of actually, like, getting through the puzzle
of the room. And, like,
with the classroom specifically, it opens
up so many, like, small, mini
things for you. Like, if you have
trouble with math, which I definitely do,
And you get to like the second or third classroom, which is a math classroom, and then you draft the billiard room.
You have all of the answers to the dartboard puzzles.
Yeah.
And I don't know.
I guess it's the first time I've wanted to go to school and how long?
Dude, for real.
Like it's funny because I had a really good run with the classroom stuff.
Like probably by day, I say day 17, day 18.
It was so enlightening to go through and be.
And that's how I learned how the paintings worked were through the classrooms.
because, like, they tell you, there's, like, the worksheets or whatever that's like,
oh, what's the difference between this and this?
And I'm looking at it.
And I'm like, one has an L.
What does it?
And I looked at the classroom.
Like, they have, like, the daily classroom, like, puzzle thing on the wall.
And I was looking at it.
And I was like, oh, shit.
Oh, fuck.
I figured it out.
But I also, even though I have figured it out, I didn't figure out all the way of, like,
what I need to do with that.
It wasn't until maybe, like, hours and hours later where I was like, all right, I think
I got to figure out the missing letter in each of these rooms and match it up.
And that's when the spreadsheet comes out.
And that's where, like, the game starts to open up.
And, like, it's such a satisfying feeling when you get there of, all right, I know what I need to do here.
It was similar for me in the church where, or not in the church, in the chapel, where for a while, oh, Jane's looking around like he doesn't know.
What's going on with the chapel?
Oh, I love this.
I love this.
Have you been to the tomb?
Yeah, I've been to the tomb.
Have you unlocked a tomb puzzle?
No.
Oh, boy.
See, that's how I finished the game was.
How did you finish the game without the tomb?
I just kind of, I guess, I grew.
Yeah.
How did you finish the game without the tomb?
I went to my way.
I went to the fountain.
Yeah.
Oh, the fountain.
Yeah, so in the tomb, you know, you have the statues that are holding all of the different, like, items and stuff.
In the chapel, if you look up, all of the glass painting is showing you which one, which ladies should be holding their item up and which one should be holding it down.
And it's got numbers.
And then that takes you down so you can move the cart out of the way to get back to the gear room to get to room 46.
Yeah.
Now, that I had taken photo, because I noticed the numbers, because I had, what, the metal detector.
Yeah.
And it was beeping.
And I thought it had something, but I looked up and I was like, oh, there's a number here.
I'm like, there's a number on all of them.
So I had those screenshots for like 10 rooms before I actually was like in the tomb.
And I'm like, I've seen this before.
For me, I knew, like, I was on the search for like, how do I unlock the tomb puzzle?
Because I felt like that was going to lead me to, because I had found, um, uh, uh,
I had found the basement key.
I had been down there, and I knew that there was something blocking me off in the basement
from getting to room 46 or getting the key to go up to room 46, right?
And so for a good maybe 10 days of game time, I am trying to figure out how to solve the tomb.
I'm looking for a sledgehammer.
And the sledgehammer I found didn't work, but now I have a powered sledgehammer, so I'm going to go back down there.
Right now have it checked into the coat check.
I got a whole thing going on.
I love the co-check.
Oh, the co-check so close.
Co-check, planning ahead.
You got to plan ahead.
Yeah, yeah.
But basically, yeah, I was like in the chapel,
and it was one of those things where I,
there are certain times where I'll walk into a room and stop
and be like, I've not gotten anything out of this room.
There must be something here.
And the chapel was one where I'm in there.
And I'm like, there has to be something to the chapel.
And then I'm looking, I'm looking.
I then start looking at the wall or at the paintings on the wall.
There's stained glass on the wall.
And I'm like, there's something here.
And then I see the numbers.
And I see them.
I'm like, it clicked in my brain immediately.
and that just led me straight to the end of the game.
Oh, yeah.
I think it is so cool how you can get to the credits by so many different ways.
Yeah.
You know, this game, like, before the credits, I feel like so many players, again, I'm pretty bad at puzzles,
but I feel like so many players can just at least get to that soft credits,
and then depending on how deep you want to go down that rabbit hole, you totally can.
And it also helps when you have friends to talk about with.
I think, you know, spoilers aside, this is such a fun game to just talk about your different puzzles or the way you did things or the way you're solving things.
Just sharing that knowledge is really special.
Now, one thing I want to bring up, right, because people in chat are asking how we found the other thing in the chapel.
And this is what I'll say.
I've not figured out how to light fire.
Oh, have you guys figured out how to light fire?
There's two ways.
Yeah, two ways.
Yeah.
So one is combining in the workshop, the magnifying glass, and the metal detector.
I love the magnifying glass. It's so cool.
I had so many runs where I just did not get the magnifying glass. I'm standing
out of the metal detector. I'm like, come on. Yeah. Okay. What was the other way? You have
to get a torch. Okay. A torch. I'm not found a torch. I'm not found it. Like, that's something you found just in the game?
Yeah, like I didn't myself find the torch, but like in the process of trying to figure out what the igniter does or like the combo item.
Yeah.
The article I read was like, oh, you have it, you can find a torch.
I'm like, okay.
Okay, I'm never going to find that.
Because, all right, I know the other way to find that and you haven't completed that yet.
And yeah, it's really cool.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
But it's also random.
So it's like, oh, okay.
We were talking about this before we went up.
It's related to, uh, we could say it, right?
The chess puzzle.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm not sorry
of the chess puzzle,
but I played enough of the game
to know that there's some
chess themes here.
You know what I mean?
So I expected there'd be a chess puzzle,
but yeah,
going for it.
The thing about the chess puzzle
is it gives you options
to other rooms.
Oh, okay.
And one of the room,
the one that I just happen to choose,
gives you options to things
that you can use.
So I'm extremely curious
what the other rooms are,
give you access,
because I haven't seen them yet.
And that's what's so satisfying
about this game.
It's like,
I still need.
Yeah, yeah.
Because there's, I think, a couple more things that I want to do with the fire starter or whatever it's called.
But, like, I still want to figure out what happens when you put another piece on there.
And it's like, I can't wait to get past the thing that I'm trying to get past so that I can figure out what the other things do.
So good.
It's going to take over my life.
It's going to take a lot more hours from me.
Yeah.
I want a freaking laboratory.
What is going on with the lab?
Every time I get there, I'm just like, what do I do?
If I may with the lab.
I got, I hate that room.
I got such a lucky run.
It was super early, like sub 20.
I might have even been sub 10, where I got the lab right next to the boiler room.
Okay.
Right next to it.
And then it's like, it's an easy puzzle and you're just like, oh, okay, cool.
And then it does something and you're just like, oh, awesome.
Hell yeah.
Did you put together the periodic table puzzle in the lab?
No, no.
But I did do the boiler room and all that and the power.
and stuff. But yeah, every time I get to the lab, I'm like, what is even going on here? Well, with the boiler
room, though, like, every time you get it, you have to redirect the power? And have you guys
noticed that when you open a door that's connected to power? You get the blue line that tells you. So as long as
you keep opening blue lines, it could lead you to the boiler room or another room that may
need it, like the pump room. Yeah. Oh, dude, like, it's cool to see how the boiler room works with
some different rooms, because it also works with the furnace. Have you seen this? Yeah. I hate it. It's cool,
but it's lame.
Yeah.
Because like you,
you connect the boardroom
to the furnace
and you open,
you open the door to the furnace
and a cool thing like
starts to form, right?
Like, like,
essentially like a plate ejects
and you can see...
Like home alone.
Yeah.
Yeah,
and you can like see the mold
of a key.
And like, in my mind,
I'm like,
oh, it's gonna be a super special key.
Holy shit.
I figured it out.
Can you pick it up?
It's just a regular ass key.
Yeah.
I'm like, why would you do this?
Now, the question,
like,
I don't know how many of the,
the architectural books you've looked at,
but like...
I think I've looked at the draft ones or like a draft strategy.
I looked at issues three through five.
Okay.
Yeah.
So I think in one of those, it's like put the boiler room or put the furnace next to the freezer.
Have you guys gotten a chance to do that?
Oh my God.
I totally checked those books out and I forgot to go look at them again after I set that up.
Oh my God.
What I do is screen like as soon as I get a book, screenshot, screenshot, screenshot.
And then later when I'm like about to go to sleep, I'm like, let's do some light reading.
And I sit there and I'm just like, okay, there is.
Oh, man, there's so much to talk about.
Because I want to talk about story as well, and we'll get there in a second.
I want to bring in super chats real quick.
Tyler Pate writes in and says, I'm sure the 50th person, I'm sure I'm the 50th person to say this, but Kevin's looking handsome today.
Thank you.
Bander S.N. writes in it says, go to room 40, or got to room 46 on day 13.
Oh, that's really cool.
Wow. Orrell Sanchez says, liked but did not love this game because many items slash rooms rely on RNG.
You can not be strategic and still get, or you could be strategic and still get screwed by luck.
Not rewarding the player with exploring Room 46 on the first find sucked.
I think I felt that a little bit until I got further and kind of realized how I can like kind of manipulate the game.
That's what I say.
It's not strategic.
Like it's, you have to just brute force it until you start making connections and opening stuff.
And like, you know, like now I start the game.
I have 70 steps.
You have 70 steps, I have coins
You know, you have permanent additions
What is that?
Do you have crystals?
Crystals?
Yeah.
Like you're starting on the game with gems?
The upgraded quest bedroom was so fun
Just trying to get to the chamber to like increase the allowance.
I got addicted to that.
How high is your allowance now?
It's like 12, I think.
Nice.
I'm at like 11.
Yeah, I think I ran some experiments to like juice me to 14.
I'm a 30.
Whoa.
No big deal.
All right, big rolling.
This man's ball.
I think my other thing, too, is my strategy changed after talking to Kevin.
Because I used to try to put the dead-end rooms on, like, on corners and stuff.
Kevin was like, oh, yeah, like you said you build the dead-end rooms in the middle.
That way you have like these two paths that are going up on the left and right.
Well, three with the middle one, right?
Yeah, three with middle.
Yeah, so what, columns two and four is where I like to put dead ends.
And hallways when I can to make the path shorter when I'm running around.
but yeah, I like to go up on one, three, and five.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's starting to think about it that way.
It helped me out in runs.
And then, yeah, like being able to, there's,
I forget which room it is,
but there's a room where you can change the rarity of certain rooms.
Be very careful with that.
Oh, dude, it's already fucked me a little bit
where I have some dead end room.
Like, I forget which one.
I think I made the attic, like a common room.
And now it's like, and I made the chapel rare.
And it's fucking me a little bit because I'm like,
I need more exits.
So I need to go back and figure it.
that out. Yeah, I had that same issue where I was like, I'm going to make all these rooms that I don't really care about.
You know, super rare and make all these rooms that I want. And now it's like, well, I now have to go and find, what is that the, whatever room that is again to change the rarity because like, now I need those other rooms. Yeah. Yeah. It's funny. People in chat are say, or Zeke speaking chat says, well, a blessing, what chapel is goaded. Keeps goaded. Yeah. Keep robbing me, man. Yeah. Can't take my coins. Seriously. Every time I go in there. The trick is just not having any coins.
Now I'm like my strategy
It started to be built upon coins
Because now I'm like
Now with the allowance
I'm like oh I can actually ball a little bit
Like I can like make some money
It actually buy these expensive things
But the fucked up thing is I had a run like three runs ago
Where I got to the
Is it the gallery room?
Which is the showcase room?
I got to the showcase room
With all the expensive shit in it
And I was like finally
I could afford this shit
And I bought
I forget what I bought like a
Like some necklace thing
That I think two items get held
for the next day. The moon necklace.
Oh, maybe that is what it is. Yeah. And
what's really, really good
is if you've got that item
and the tool shed. No, not
the tool shed, sorry, the trading post.
Because you can go into the trading post
and sell your stuff.
So you're just to the point where you're getting coins or gems
and only keep two items.
Oh, that's fucking sick. Yeah. That's fucking sick. And that's how you can kind of
game the system and be like,
economy, dude. Yeah.
Bring in some more superchats.
Zeeke speaks says, going to put
as little as possible here, so it was not to spoil.
But I'm going to ask one question.
Have y'all castled?
I assume this is back to the chess thing.
Or is there a castle room that I don't know of?
Well, yeah, is that chat?
Are they talking about, like, on the chessboard,
like swapping the rook and the king or whatever the hell of castling is?
I forget.
Well, yeah.
Yeah, that's what that means.
But, like, I have gotten, like, if you,
I think if you get a certain room at the end of your run,
like your home is a castle.
Like it'll say castle, whatever.
Okay. Is that what you're talking about? Who was that?
That might be what they're talking about.
Because some people are saying it's not a chess thing and then some people are saying it's kind of a chess thing.
But that's interesting. I don't know what that is.
So I'm in the chess room where you can do the chessboard puzzle and there was like a breakable wall that I like busted open with the power.
What? Yeah.
What?
Is this the room?
What's the name of the room?
Do you remember?
You got to go down and elevate.
I guess I have the game open.
We need to get your elevator up and running.
There's a room.
My elevator.
The blue flames?
Yeah.
The blue flames.
Oh, the other elevator.
Gotcha.
The other elevator.
Are you talking about the foundation?
Yeah.
Yeah, I thought that's what you're talking about.
No, no, no, no.
The blue flame elevator.
Yeah, that's outside next to the grounds.
I'm trying to figure out what room.
It's like Richard Belmont shit.
Dude, blue flames.
yeah because i thought you're talking about the study because the study has a chessboard in it but i guess
yeah no no yeah we're talking about another room where's the blue where's the fourth blue flame
just tell okay so what are the blue flames you have uh i got the one i got two of the ones that are in the
um like the outer rooms the outer rooms yeah i got one that's in the garden the the orchard
the orchard yeah okay is there one in the in the mine maybe yeah but he hasn't gotten that yet
the mine yeah so you need to play in the boiler room and then go to the lap
wait, that's not, no, that's not the mine.
Yeah.
That's on the boiler.
It's the boiler room power something else that you have to turn on, and that opens up the mine, right?
Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the exterior mine by your camp, right?
Yeah.
So, yeah, there's always one exterior.
Oh, no, it's the, um, the chat saying it's the VAC puzzle.
The what?
The fucking VAT.
Oh, okay, yes.
That's another thing that's been grinding my gears.
Oh, that's the breaker box.
You're right, yeah.
Okay, okay.
I see that thing every single time, and I found,
the letter that's in the
delivery room, whatever it's called,
the mail room that tells me how it works.
I just don't know what I'm doing.
That letter says something else, though.
Like the letter says, hey, more information is given via
email. And via email.
Yeah.
I thought it was physical mail.
That puzzle, by the way.
Do you really? Yeah, I didn't find that.
You need, like, a certain
combination, so you just went in there and
kept changing the combination? Well, the
I'm talking about the color puzzle, right?
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
Like one of the emails is like, make it these colors.
Yeah.
So you just brute force that.
That's wild.
That's wild.
Interesting.
Okay.
I think I was,
I for some reason,
thought I was going to be like physical mail.
I probably just read it.
Because yeah,
I've had so many letters delivered, by the way.
Yeah.
I like came into the mail room the other day and it was like seven letters to sit in there.
I read all them at once.
It was all shit I knew.
Okay.
It was all.
It was all.
Yeah.
That's funny.
I've never gotten a letter to the mail room.
I always get packages from the mail room.
You get letters.
through experiments.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I mean.
They're kind of working.
Yeah.
There's so many other experiments to run too.
I want dice.
I want as many dice as possible.
Yeah.
Now, go for it.
One huge thing that really changed my game is,
are you guys looking at telescopes every single time?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Love the observatory.
How many stars are you guys at?
I'm at like 40.
Yeah, around there, I think.
Yeah.
Okay.
28, maybe like 26, 27, 28.
Something really cool happens at 50.
I know.
I found the, I found the, not the observatory, but there's like kind of a partner room to it where, um, oh, what's it called? I figure what it's called.
But basically you go in there and you find another observatory book and it says that you unlock a new constellation at 50.
And so I'm like trying to get there. Also, do you guys want to know what it is or these little threads are just?
I don't know. No, I love how like we're still walking on eggshells around each other despite like rolling credits and everything.
I know.
It's the funniest thing.
is the one I found.
I haven't seen the planet.
It's crazy.
I'm seven days in.
I haven't seen the planetarium.
Wait, how did I find the planetarium?
Wait, there's a planetarium, dude.
It's one of those unlockable rooms.
I think, oh, you know what?
It's because I got the letters to live.
Well, first thing I did was the casino.
I was like, I got it.
I'm a gambling man.
Dude, have you put the lever in the casino?
Yes.
That's so disappointing.
I was just like, oh, this isn't it.
This doesn't do it for me.
Yeah.
We got so much to talk about.
But before we talk about it anymore, I want to tell you about Patreon.com slash kind of funny.
And YouTube.com slash kind of funny games where you can go and get the show ad free.
And speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.
This episode is brought to you by Imperial.
We have told you all how important it is to developers that you wish list the games you're interested in.
So, if this sounds cool, do you make sure you wish listed, I can't tell you how much it helps.
Imperial is a complex feature-rich action RPG where you'll be sent to a planet in a far-off corner of the galaxy to
explore an enormous imposing monolith. As an elite mercenary, you'll join the expedition
tasked with unearthing the secrets of the monolith and face off against the deadly
automatons within. In Imperial, you'll explore four fastly different quadrants of the monolith,
accessible only by using mysterious artifacts known as cartograms. Each cartogram affects which
enemies, boss fights, and loot will appear when you enter the monolith, so no two excursions
will be the same. Find even more cartograms to explore.
by looting defeated enemies or buy them from other players online at the trading post.
You'll need to make sure you have the right gear to take on the harder cartograms.
Build your mercenary, choose your gear, master your abilities, and take down everything in your
path in Imperial.
Face off against enormous deadly bosses and seek out secret paths to find bigger and better loot.
Help the members of the expedition in deep branching quests and aid other players in
asynchronous multiplayer.
Get ready, mercenaries.
The monolith awaits.
Imperial is available May 8th on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

And we're back, and we got a super chat from Tundra Boy
who writes in and says, shout out to Huber and his last list
perma death runs. That's cool.
So hard.
Zeke speaks in and says, also don't sleep on the
letter delivery lab experiment. Ace hints from
those both written within and from the actual stamps.
The stamps thing is interesting because I do the magnifying glass of the stamp because I see in
the library the keep record of all the stams you collect. So I do it for that. I've not noticed
the actual hints on the stamps. Am I fucking up? I think it's a really, I think it's a simple
one. Okay. But I only have a couple stamps. Because I'll see like numbers and shit, but I'm like,
I don't know what these go to. Yeah. I think it might just, do you want me to tell you or what I
think. I don't even know for sure. Tell me what you think. I think it might just have to do
with colors. Oh, you think it's like, oh, I, I,
see so it's back to like the realm
okay figuring that out where it's like
each one's from a different realm right so if you just
look at the color that's smart that gives you one more
little note on what color I like that
realm um I one of the
things that this game does this game is so
well designed because for any
sort of like major rule or like
sort of like recurring puzzle
they tell you the rules in
many different ways and it's like you're gonna
run into how to salt like the math thing for
example for the billiard uh billiard
room um if you look
at the walls to the left and the right
of the dartboard that like
the scoreboard on the dartboard. Yeah like literally
it'll say plus minus times
divide right like it has those symbols on there
and that's how I put it together. Yep me too.
Yeah and I was like oh that's easy
but guess what if you don't figure that out you can figure it out
by doing the classroom thing because eventually
in like one of those rooms it'll tell you exactly
like the color stuff and I'm like oh
that that's actually helpful because
when they started to switch up the rules
I couldn't figure out like
why like it was
why it wasn't working in order.
And then I was like, oh, wait, okay, cool.
Classroom is telling me that it's this color is this.
So I imagine the order is this.
Like, I love how the game goes about giving you many different ways to like learn the same thing.
And the letters do that as well.
The letters will tell you a lot of like the same things that you might already know as far as how the laboratory works or how different things work.
So yeah, shout out to the delivery lab stuff.
Like, don't sleep on it.
Don't sleep on is what I'll say.
Brain 13 writes in it says, the challenge to start a new save and get to 46 on the first day.
It's so hard, it took me multiple days.
It's so hard.
No, because, like, I just told you, I have 30 coins when I start.
Like, how can I give that up?
Yeah, yeah.
I know how to get it, but, like, at least, I don't know, 12 of those are from, like, experiments.
And it's like, well, I ever get those experiments again?
I think you can do, like, a new, like, save file.
If you wanted it, that doesn't, that then doesn't transfer the trophy to my room, right?
Oh, you're right.
You know?
Oh, so you have to do a full restart.
And I think about that.
often because like that's pretty cool you know yeah yeah fuck i didn't think about the trophy room is so
cool up people are saying you can import it you can transfer trophies okay everybody say you can transfer
it oh oh yeah yeah all just easy yeah yeah for sure he started then fuck yeah man yeah you got to pray to
rng jesus for that though well there's what's cool about that is there's several runs that you can
do and different strategies yeah i've been thinking a lot about them because i've been i've been
contemplating like, should I just
blow it all up and start over so I can get
that trophy? Yeah. God. Yeah.
If you were saying, yeah, you do it through the terminal.
That's interesting that they built it in the game.
Oh, is that what the
transfer thing? Yes.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, that's really cool.
You need the admin keys. They've thought of everything.
There's letters that'll tell you how to get the admin keys.
Not that terminal.
Oh, yeah. They're probably talking about the other terminal.
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
I think I did find something about an admin in the servants quarters or something.
Oh, there was in the trash, right?
Yes.
Yes.
Which I thought was the weirdest place because I haven't been looking at trash.
There's moments that happen like that where I'm like, oh no.
What I'm missing?
Have you all found the microchips?
Microchips.
Oh, let me tell you where I still, okay, so I'm still looking for one.
I
Do you want me to tell you guys?
Wait, say again, sorry?
I know where that one is now.
The one that I found?
Yeah.
No, the other one that haven't found.
Yeah.
I, okay, here's the thing.
Jan and Huber, do you want to, do you want to know?
No, please, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, yeah.
I'm playing this game, right?
I got a fucking sledgehammer in my inventory
and I'm at my wits end.
I'm like, at the end of a run.
I'm like, okay, I think this is going to be it.
I'm back in the main entry room.
Entry room, thank you.
And I'm like, all right,
cool and then I turn and I look at a vase and it gives me the icon of like use the sledgehammer
and I'm like what the fuck and then I do it and then a microchip falls out of it.
What?
And this was not, I have so far and I did that like day eight.
I did that early and I'm not seen any hint.
I'm not seen any hint towards any sort of microchip shit and I learned that where it goes.
It goes into like the like I don't even know what they called the server room.
The server room.
Thank you.
Wait, have you opened that up?
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay, so I'm missing one more macrochip.
One of my favorite rooms is the rumpus room, right?
Yeah.
Because I love, oh, I love just hearing.
Yeah.
Alzara just like dropping some like knowledge darts at me.
And then like one of them, one of the early ones talks about like, oh, there's like a missing item that's hidden in like wherever.
And it's just showing like the first room you get, right?
and it shows that Vaz
that you just talked about
and I never bothered to like
go at it with a sledgehammer
but now okay
he was trying to leave me there
in the vaguest terms
you gotta buy all the books
I know people in Chatter is saying
there's a clue
like a 50 coin box book
that's the most disappointing thing
of like
you gotta do a run where you have
the bookstore
and a lot of coins
it's so difficult
but once a most of the
Once you get it done,
Yeah.
Really rewarding.
I've gotten close because I've like,
I've had runs now where I've had like 70 coins
and I'm just drafting rooms hoping I get a shop,
hoping I get a book shop or something.
What are the most steps you've ever had?
You ended a run.
Oh, that ended a run?
I mean, no, I'll use those steps.
I'll just walk around for fun at that point.
But I mean, I think the most steps I've had must be like 90 or something.
When you ended a room?
Oh, no, just in general?
Just in general.
Yeah.
Maybe I've gotten three figures?
Yeah, one of the first things that came to mind was like,
what if you just wander around so long that, like, will it become night time outside?
I wonder, yeah.
I'm not letting me just keep walking and walking.
Time keeps going, yeah.
That's interesting.
I hadn't ever gone outside with when I'm like super deepening.
I mean, yeah.
AJ Bruin and chat says yes.
Yeah.
Well, time and day is important.
Yeah.
For certain things.
Yeah.
But like, is night important?
That's crazy.
because I never thought about that.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Let's, okay.
Let's talk about story.
Yeah, let's talk about story.
I want to get to some super chess later.
But like, what's up?
Can I start with the story?
Yeah, go for it.
I'm so embarrassed.
I don't know anything about the story.
I mean, I don't know anything.
It's funny because like, I mean, I know very,
I don't know anything meaningful enough about the story to put shit together.
All I can tell.
And you guys can help me out, Michael and Jan.
And if you can help fill in the blanks,
right but like obviously fucking um the herbert whoever the guy who owns the place
passing it on to you as his nephew whatever the fuck right um you're in this alternate kind of
universe right because it's like different realms different the map looks different oh yeah it's a
different world for sure different world there's like there's political shit going on
outside of the political shit there's a one of the people in the family tree has written a book
called the blueprints or no it's your mom yeah it's your mom yes thank you has written the
was it called the Red Prince?
The Red Prince.
But, like, that book got censored, essentially.
It didn't get published.
Yeah.
Didn't get published.
But there was a version of the book with, like, a false ending, though, that you find in the bedroom.
In the nursery.
Is it a false ending?
Yes.
Yes.
Oh.
Because there's, like, yeah.
Well, Kevin, you didn't really watch the cut scene.
Yeah.
Finish the game.
Yeah.
Oh.
And so, like, I have these loose pieces.
And, oh, there's also, I found the thing about, like, the swim bird book.
I read the swim bird book.
Yeah.
That is about a bird who wants to.
to swim, but all of his friends are, like, mean to him and making fun of him because he wants
to swim. And, like, it gives me, again, I'm sure this all moves back to the political state.
The political and economical state of the world, as Jane Smith would say.
Is there anything that I need that, like, I'm missing that's major?
So in the classrooms, I think it's classroom five.
There's, it's like a history class.
Yes.
And it shows like a slideshow of stuff happening, like historical events.
Wait, really?
Yeah.
Like, how'd you start the slideshow?
It was, you just click on like the little projector.
I've seen, literally I've seen like the like little thing like curtain come down.
Yeah.
Or like it's, it's there.
And I've tried to like click on it to see if there's stuff behind it.
I didn't think to click on a projector.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I accidentally clicked on the projector.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
So you just, it's like four or five slides and it like gives a little bit of like loose context
around like what the situation is.
And then from my parsing together, all like the loose letters and clues that I've found,
it's like, okay, they're trying to assassinate my mom, I think.
But then my mom is part of like my mom escaped or there were two guards that helped my mom escape or something like that.
Yeah.
Have you guys been to the shelter?
Shelter?
The shelter.
The bomb shelter.
Yeah.
This implied that like people were like hiding out.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe for a while.
Like I don't know how this house.
works to where it's like, all right, if you're hiding in the shelter and the shelter isn't
drafted, are you stuck there?
That's what my brain started going.
Some dimension.
Yeah, that's like any time I draft the kennel, I feel so bad.
What's in the kennel?
I'm not been a good time.
The dog, there's like a dog there.
Oh, see, I feel that way about the fish.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
In the bunk bed.
But who's feeding the fish?
Just hanging out.
It's automatic.
Oh, okay, that's fair.
Well, the other thing is, there is a staff that, like, rotate the room, right?
and like they're just not employed
because you're currently trying to figure this all out.
Yeah, but I've been figuring it out for two months.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did you all?
I really like heists and shit,
so like those are the story details I remember.
Right.
There was like a big jewel heist
and then some kind of like extortion ransom or something.
Just like, I don't know.
That's all I remember.
This is kind of a,
I'm feeling that you guys haven't figured
this part of the story out.
I'm not, I'm gonna be as vague.
The letters?
Huh?
Is it the letters?
No, not the letters.
Like, and I think I might have talked to you about this before.
When you're walking down to open up the ante chamber.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Do you guys notice there's a hallway?
Like, there's a gate, right?
You don't have to open.
Right before that gate, there's a hallway on your left.
Oh, you're talking about, like, when you're downstairs.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm sorry, sorry, sorry.
Is it, you talking about the one?
Because, yeah, when you're going down, yeah, to hit that.
lever. I always see it on my way back
because it's like on the way back, it's on the right side.
I think it's designed that way. Yeah, and then
there's like a red door that's locked.
And I'm not figured out that red door. I assume
that was the back system. I don't know what the hell is up
with that red door. Yeah, it's funny because
like you can see some of this stuff on stream when me and
Mike did it where I was like, what the hell's
going on here? Why is there a little red light over here?
You know? My, so my
thought process, I don't know
what's behind it, but like I
know that in the reservoir
there's like shit going on down there.
and I've not been able for like literally like 20 days now in the game.
I've been trying to connect the boiler room to the pump room
so I could use the like the reserve pump
to then get all the water out of there
because I assume that's how that works.
Use both reserve pumps too
because I only used one like an idiot got all excited and left
and now it's still a challenge to move water around the right way.
Well there's like a third word like there's like the two pumps
that hold all the water but I think if you want to know no no no
there are two reserves.
There's two reserve pumps?
Yeah we can only see one
but when you get the boiler room connected
to the pump room,
it'll say pump one or pump two
or, you know, reserve one or two.
And it's like get all the water on both of us.
I didn't know, okay.
Yeah, because that's what I've been trying to do
because I assume there's a,
is it the reservoir puzzle that'll open the door?
Because that's what I was trying to figure out.
The reservoir puzzle?
Sorry, what's the...
So when you drain all the water out of the reservoir,
there's like shit that's going on down there.
No, that looks like a puzzle.
Okay.
You've already been to the room where it opens that door.
What do you mean?
What do you say?
All right.
So, again, we get to a point where it's like, how much do you guys want me to tell you?
More than the room.
We've talked about the room that opens that door.
The furnace?
No.
Do you want me to tell you?
Yeah, tell me.
Please, yeah.
Okay.
Huber, you're good too, right?
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I'm with you guys.
So in the boiler room, there's two floors, right?
Yeah.
The bottom floor that has all the, like, pipes and stuff.
stuff that you have to open up. Oh, do I send the power downwards? So on my first run, me and, or
not my first run, but on one of the runs that I did here with Mike, we were in the boiler
room, we figured it all out. But I was like, Mike, look, there's like a red box here. And it's
got a little light of the bottom if we turn the water there or turn the steam there. What do we
do with that? And then, and then it was like, oh, there's a red door here. And it opens if you've
got that light on.
Okay.
Yeah.
Oh.
All right.
Okay.
Yeah.
And then if you open that, it gives you clues on what to do with the water.
Like heights and stuff.
And if you get it to a certain height, I don't know if you guys have noticed, there's a giant pipe.
If you're in the, like, looking in the res, I don't know how low you've gotten the water.
Uh-huh.
But I've gotten it pretty low.
There's a giant hole.
And if you figure out how to get the boat, you can.
take the little boat into the hole.
Well, this brings us back to the rumpus room.
Have you guys all been to the rumpus room, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You guys have all done to the, like, giving the guy the coin and, like, see the weird
ass shit.
One of the first cutscenes they show you is, like, you down in the basement, like, with
the water, and I think you take the boat, it's been a while now, so it's a little bit
hazy.
So I was trying to figure out what the fuck is going on with that.
How many times have you guys gotten the rumpus room?
I can gotten cutscenes out of it.
A good amount of times.
Three or four.
I have or less.
That shit gets weird.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's one.
The third one.
Yeah, is it the third one where he's like, hey,
maybe there's someone else in this house.
Yeah, he's like, you're being watching.
And I was like, yo, fuck this dude.
And I never wanted to talk to him again.
I was like, is this going to turn to a survival horror game?
Yeah.
Because he, the first thing he mentions to in that is that like,
there's a door that's open or a gate that's left open.
And I keep going to the sanctum gate, right?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Yeah.
That was sanctum gate.
So the one, when you're going down the long sanctum pipe,
there's a gate.
that isn't locked.
You don't have to worry about.
Yeah.
Oh, is that it?
I think that's what you're talking about.
But I thought it was like pointing toward like an outside gate.
That's what I remember.
In the cut scene,
it shows the outside gate.
Yeah.
You think he's referring to the sanctum gate?
Because I kept looking at the driveway.
Like every time I'm outside, I'm like, are they here yet?
In my head cannon, like, they come and reset all the rooms.
Because like, that's true.
You like, you get notes from them, right?
I think Miss Babbage comes through and does shit.
What's her first name, I wonder?
Deborah.
Oh,
Deborah Babbage.
Have,
so I know
we've been talking
about like actual time
in the game.
Have y'all
had a specific
room pop out
because of a date?
Oh yeah.
Well,
first of all,
her name is Ann.
Everybody's like,
everybody's like
Ann Babbage.
I don't know
how everybody knows the name.
Put respect on Ann's name.
Put respect on Ann Babbage.
Character of the year
Ann Babbage.
It's just Sikh speaks.
Have you,
so I've been to
the boudoir.
Yes.
December 25th.
Yeah, yeah.
Y'all done this?
Yeah.
No, I saw a photo and it's Christmas.
If you go into the boudoir on Christmas, it gives you a bunch of shit.
God damn it.
Yeah.
Well, that's far, like, going behind.
You get like hella gems, hella keys.
There's a Christmas tree that's up and glowing and all this shit.
It's like a little.
That's cool.
I started like tearing up a little bit when I saw that.
Ever.
Like, oh, I get to spend Christmas with my family.
But you figured out the safe then.
Yeah.
Okay.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
So let's talk about it.
Right.
These safes, these letters.
One of the grand puzzles.
of this game being the painting thing
of like, I still don't know the second word
by the way in that thing.
I've gotten to like the far room
on the top right.
And it's like a little like a hand painting a planet
and then it's like a box by having.
Great. Yeah.
But what's the other word?
I also, I don't know.
Because it's like, I think that's the E,
I assume it's a E.
Because I think it's like if we count
small locks
eight
eight something opens eight safes.
Yeah, eight dates.
Thank you.
Eight dates, opens, eight saves.
No way.
Chat is saying it's create and create.
Fuck out of here.
Yeah, so fuck out of here.
There are a couple puzzles where it's like,
fuck out of here.
Get fucked.
Like, that's not.
Like, come on.
Come on.
The gallery, I don't even,
I don't even know where to begin.
Yeah.
Oh, do you guys paintings in there?
That's, even know.
I think that's the first room where I was like,
well, I guess I'm not doing this.
Yeah.
And I've only gotten it once.
So, let me tell you, I was in there for a hot second.
Yeah.
And I figured it out.
That shit almost broke me.
I was on the spot.
Almost broken.
So I've gotten two people addicted to this game.
And I, like, my buddy who I just went on a bachelor party with is super in.
And like two weeks ago, my wife went to a bachelor party with his wife.
And so, like, we're going in with staying up late at night.
Like, you're doing it?
You're doing what?
Yeah.
I understand that.
I understand that term means something else now.
I grew up at a different time.
What do you think it means?
It means.
And now if I say it, it's going to sound.
I know.
And I made a mistake.
I shouldn't have said it that.
Especially when you're in Vegas?
What are we doing here, Kevin?
I just learned that that means that.
Because to me, Gooney is staying up, being a goon, staying up late at night.
Oh, I'm sure.
Yeah.
That is what it means.
And I said it to my little brother.
And he's like, what are you saying?
And I was like, God damn it.
Anyways, so we're staying up.
We were playing at like two in the morning.
Yeah.
And on Discord call.
And like, we're not giving each other any hints.
But he was like, oh, yeah.
It's really annoying.
But like, you can figure out if you try.
And I was like, no, I'm walking away from this room.
I've heard that about Goun.
Somebody earlier in chat said, that room is Google time.
And, like, honestly, for most of this game, I'll say don't look up guides, don't look anything up.
That room, Google that room.
The solution is dumb.
It's like, it's one of those ones where it's like nobody's ever going to get this.
Well, I, like, there are a couple puzzles that I'm kind of mad at, like, the office safe.
I'm still trying to figure that out.
Yeah, that one's kind of butt.
It's really, is it?
Yeah.
Oh.
Like, I only figured it out because, like, I was on the phone with my friend and he was like,
you almost got it.
And I'm like, he's like, just don't look at any of the other lines.
And it's like, why would they do that?
Oh, I know what it is now.
Good.
That's so funny.
Yeah.
That's bullshit.
Yeah.
I literally, okay, here's where my brain was at because I thought this game was a smart game
is I was going to the library in the book shop and being like, all right,
what book matches up with like the things that they're trying to tell me.
Who checked out that book?
What date did they check out?
That's where I was at.
Oh, damn, damn.
You have a magnifying glass looking at every little quarter of every little note.
Yeah.
Oh, one other thing that I still haven't figured out, I think I know how to do it, but have you guys, has anyone, like, what's going on with the bottom breaker?
What do you mean?
I mean, you know the breaker box?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, the thing has scribbled out.
Yeah, it's missing.
Oh, yeah, that's another password for the terminal.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
You just got to take your magnifying glass.
and I think, I'm pretty sure that's
the thing you can read and it says
like a certain, like...
How do you get the magnifying glass to come out?
I don't think that works for the thing.
That didn't happen to me.
I must be thinking of something else.
Because there's another thing where it is scribbled.
That is the password for the group.
Oh, okay.
That's what I'm thinking of.
Okay, okay.
In the security room.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Yeah, so in the...
Also, we got to come back to the safes for a second
because I got to figure out the drawing room.
The drawing...
The drawing...
Okay.
I've looked at these fucking paintings.
I've counted each of the people
that are in each painting.
I've like tried to do the numbers
I have so much this is written down on my blueprint's notes
I'm forgetting the name
I wrote down I was the meme
I was the meme in that room blessing of just like
connect it
yeah
it's always sunny Charlie Charlie Day
like kind of connect all this shit because I had written
down here 15 umbrella man
four dress 11 top hat
five kids six horse
you're close
what is the mean
so this is one I think I we talked
to you about this. Well, on stream, somebody
just blurted out the number
and we put it in, Mike,
moves too quick, you know? Yeah. So I was like, Mike,
come on, I want to know how to figure it out.
And we reached out to the person in the chat, and I'm
sorry, I'm forgetting who it was right now.
But, like, he was like, oh, that's just my mom's birthday.
That's amazing. And it's like,
that's how we got in.
So, whoops. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Lessing, you're counting the wrong
Gates. Gates, no way.
Kevin Gates?
Two phones?
I don't even...
Okay, here's the thing.
Here's the other thing.
Because I thought, when they said gates,
I thought they're talking about, like,
the fucking garden,
the garden gate.
If you count small a lot,
or no.
Unless I'm,
okay, am I fucking this up?
I think I'm confusing things.
If we count small gates,
okay,
if we count small gates,
do you know the second meaning of gate?
Eight dates.
What's the second meaning of gate?
Is it like shoes?
No, it's like walking.
Like your step, right?
Oh, so we're counting small steps.
Fuck off.
Fuck off.
You know it now.
You know it isn't that rewarding.
If you count small gates, so I got to count the small.
All right.
Okay.
I love this.
Small versus big.
I don't know.
But then why would that be dates?
What's the date there?
If you count small gates.
Well, if you, oh.
If we count small gates, eight dates,
crack eight safes.
I'll figure it out.
This is one always where I feel slow right now.
I'll figure it out.
I'm with you.
Yeah.
No, now I'm going to look at it again and be staring.
Guess what?
You have the numbers.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, those are two gates solved.
Or two fucking things solved.
God damn.
So has anyone gotten the cabinet key and put it in the cabinet?
Cabinet key.
Are you talking about the deposit box key?
Nope.
There is a key that says cabinet key.
And I've gotten it several times, but I've never gotten the, what is it, archives?
The archives.
And I'm not sure.
Dukes the archives.
Huh?
No. No.
Yeah, I've gotten, I think that's where I go.
So, we drain the aquarium at all?
No.
No. I've thought about it.
I didn't want to kill the fit.
Actually, no, I tried to it. It didn't work.
Oh, it definitely works.
Does it work?
Yeah, it works.
Okay, maybe I got to try again.
If you drain the aquarium, there's a little puzzle.
Because you know how each one is a room.
And so you can see, like, oh, dig here in the bedroom or something.
Oh.
And then go to this filing cabinet.
and I got a key
and I haven't been able to put the filing cabinet
and I suspect that that is what goes in the utility room
but I don't know
I love this game so much
I love this game so much
so you all have definitely found like the treasure maps
right? Yeah, that point to like a specific square
yeah what is that supposed to
do you have a shovel when you go to that room
I never have a shovel when I go to that room
if you have a shovel it says do you want to dig
oh yeah and then you
random what you get
that I'm just kidding
and then you get the secret ending
You find them all, yeah.
No, you get like a treasure box full of coins.
Yeah, it changes.
Oh, does it?
Yeah, because I finally have a key once.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah, every single time I've found coins.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Man, a lot to talk about with this game.
I love it so much.
Is there anything else that's on the table for us that you guys want to, that we haven't?
Oh, there was a super chat.
That was like, how did everyone, this is BG Bernardo, how did everyone get to Room 46?
What's the coolest puzzle so far?
I use the power hammer outside in the chess.
puzzle. Also, rare on-screen kev.
There you go, he's here. He's on screen.
I used the Secret Garden.
Yep.
Yeah. Secret Garden is the first way I got in.
Yeah.
Again, we're going full spoilers, right?
So, like, I was saying earlier, I think with my run, I actually got all of the doors open when I did it, which, like, what, Secret Garden?
Your Secret Garden, there's a hallway.
Yeah. Which, again, a blessed way.
run where it's like you get the foyer going into the hallway.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, not necessarily going into it, but get foyer first.
And then all the doors and hallways are unlocked.
Oh, I didn't know that.
So good.
That's a good call.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What's the third one too?
Broken lever in the...
I'm gonna run away for two seconds.
I'll be right back.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I've only gotten the side doors open.
I don't remember which one I did for like my final run, but like I was constantly
opening up the anti-chamber door, like, before I even got to room 46, right?
Like, I could get in there, fine.
It was about figuring.
out the foundation.
And so I did that.
Figured out the foundation finally where I didn't know you had to get behind it to open the lever.
Yeah.
That took me forever.
I thought you had to get behind it, but the room behind the elevator had to be a wall.
And so like I got there.
And I was like, okay, like I got to pick a room that doesn't have a door leading to it.
And then I got there and there was nothing there.
I was like, fuck.
Yeah.
I really appreciate that the basement door stays open.
Yes.
Yes.
And just that on top of the permanent upgrade.
I think is a really nice compromise.
I was really worried about the cart that you have to move.
I was like, if this resets the next day,
I might be completely deflated on this game.
Yeah, went through the foundation and then,
I like the puzzle on the foundation
where you were pushing the carts and stuff.
Yeah.
Like a nice change pace.
The wildest thing, I guess I stumbled upon
is that I gave 13 coins to the shrine.
And then, like, I think that specific blessing is
if you call it a day,
you can redraft that room
or shows up more frequently.
And this broke my brain
because I thought I was being super smart.
So I went to the foundation
or the foundation, not the foundation.
What's the very first room you're in called?
Entrance room?
Entry way.
The entryway.
And then I'm like,
all right, I'm going to call it a day here.
And then so I called it a day.
I went to the outer room
and then it was a whole separate entryway.
But everything is like caved in
so you can't actually use it.
Oh, yeah.
I was like, oh, damn.
I thought I was going to.
Yeah, that was really.
really clever yeah i thought i was going to do like some high roll stuff like a dark link run or whatever
yeah i love that that's cool i love you trying that though that's that's awesome um
have you all seen in the tool shed this dynamite yeah yeah we figured yeah dude i never really
yeah yeah i got that not as fun as i thought no no yeah especially when you go back the second day
and you're like oh yeah okay i guess that makes sense the dynamite did you do did you guys just like
light it yeah yeah oh yeah damn that's fucked up it's crazy well i mean
Well, I was like, oh, this is going to bring the light there, of course.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
And then one super, like, minor thing, but, like, if you know it can be cool, the, what is it called?
The fountain.
Have you guys gone up to it when it's full?
Yeah, make a wish.
So cool.
Drop a coin.
I do that every time, and I'm hoping that whenever I train it, all the coins are going to be down there.
I think I've only ever, I've only done it twice.
And I've drained it and it's been, it's had one coin each time.
Oh, nice.
So I think you're like going to create a bank there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When I drained it, I had a lot of coins in there.
Oh, which is so cool.
Like that's such a brilliant way to like.
A really smart concept.
Especially once you figure it out and you're like, oh, I can collect.
Because Ann ain't going in and fixing that shit.
No.
She's not going to fucking get those coins from me.
Yeah.
That takes too much time for Ann.
He's reset in the rooms.
Zeke Speaker writes in and says, also don't sleep on lost and found.
Check underground map with magglass.
Many puzzles need new rooms for new clues.
Drapturing room is amazing for this.
Lost and found.
Yeah, I don't know.
I haven't, I'm so excited.
Look at the magnifying one.
So an acquaintance of mine told me
there's a specific item in the lost and found
that you can reset your foundation.
Ooh.
So if you don't like,
big for me.
If you don't like where you've placed your foundation
on your grid,
you can like, I guess, move it around.
I myself haven't seen it yet.
He may be full of horseshit,
but I trust them.
I trust them.
You guys are blown in my mind.
The foundation can be at a different spot on the...
Oh, it's right.
Yeah, that's what I was saying.
My foundation...
This is crazy.
Mine was in column row two,
or row three, like column two.
Yeah, mine's in...
Wait, going from the top to down?
So, like, yeah.
two to the right, three above.
Oh, so it's like rank three.
Rank three.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, mine's ranked two.
Yeah, it sucks.
Oh, yeah, mine was like two rooms away from the antechamber.
Yeah, mine was rank eight.
Sounds pretty blessed.
It was, it was very blessed, Kevin.
Let me tell you.
Yeah, mine's like rank eight, like, um, row B.
Oh, wow.
That's so far up.
Yeah.
How do you decide where it is initially?
I totally forget that part.
Well, it's a random draw, right?
Yeah.
So whenever you get it, you open it.
God.
Yeah, it's funny because, like, you read that and I'm like, oh, cool.
I didn't, I don't know what that means.
Yeah, I was like, I have no idea.
And then you start the next run.
I'm like, oh, shit.
All right, cool.
I made a decision here.
Did not realize I made a decision.
I got a shout out any and everyone that is trying to do a guide for this game.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Because, like, the sheer multitude of different variables going on, like, I don't know how you
wrap your brain around any of it, especially to get in a guide format.
Dude, I mean, shout out to Jason Shrier who played.
like 140 hours of this game before even the embargo hit.
I get it.
That's the way to do it, man.
I get it so hard.
Because like imagine, like I, I think there's something that's so fun about playing something
and knowing that it's special and getting lost in it.
And like, you're one of the very few people that is like that, like, that deep in the well.
Yeah. And so like talking to him about it and like hearing him like because I ran into him at the
Nintendo NYC thing, right?
And so I'm like, oh, dude, how you like a blueprints and he looks at me and I'm like,
oh, you've been through something.
Like you've had an experience.
I don't know. There's something special about that.
It's something special about sharing it with people around you.
One last thing I just want to bring up.
It's more a strategy building that I'm having right now of like,
if you can move the foundation and you can get in the foundation from an outside exit.
Outside exit.
What do you mean?
So like somewhere from the outside.
So let's say you pull tomb, right?
Yeah.
You can get into the foundation, right?
If you have a security door or a key, you can get into the foundation for.
from the bottom. Yeah. Because I thought the cart was always blocking it.
From tomb?
Well, so again, if you get the water at the right level.
Oh, I see. That's not tomb, is it? No, because tomb is connected?
Chad, help me up. I guess tomb might be connected in multiple different ways, right?
No, I think tomb is connected to it directly, but when you get in there, there's a security
key where if you don't have the security key, the elevator won't come down.
Oh. So what I'm saying is, if you can move your foundation,
to somewhere higher up.
Now you have a second,
like you have three doors
that can lead you.
I see what you're saying.
That's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool.
It's a damn good game.
Wait, well,
you need a security key
to get out of it?
Yeah, but like there's ways around that, right?
Like if you have the security turned off or...
Right.
Oh, I see.
It's like if you're,
let's say you get stuck on a run
halfway through or something
and it's like,
oh, fuck, all right, cool.
Well, you can still continue
by going through the tomb if you got it.
Yeah.
Oh, that's cool.
That's actually really cool.
Yeah.
Fuck.
That probably would have
have saved multiple runs for me so far.
Any last words?
40 chests over here.
I know.
Huber, do you have any last words on blueprints?
The den is my favorite room.
It's just so inviting.
It's so cozy.
Every time I get there, I just hang out.
I love it.
I love the den.
What's your guy's favorite room?
Oh,
fuck.
That's a really good question.
Den is pretty goaded.
It's like definitely one of the first rooms I will always
draft if given the chance. I think mine is the
bedroom that makes it so that every time you draft a bedroom
nursery. Yeah, the nursery, thank you. Ten steps. That's sick. Yeah. And I, you said ten
steps? Yeah. Oh, well, I guess. You got the upgrade disc. Yeah. Because I got the, I
upgraded it too, but I think it's like eight. Also, there's sound going on back here. Yeah, I don't know if you guys can hear that. Sorry about that.
Someone's using the power hammer.
The other heads are breaking it. The guy, they got the fucking, yeah, the sledgehammer,
the power of sledgehammer. They're doing some work outside. That's all good. Um,
supposed to be quiet.
Kevin,
you got a favorite room?
That's a hard question.
Like,
the parlor room was one of my favorite rooms.
I can see it in chat here.
But, like,
you get past a certain point.
You didn't talk about the parlor room.
I'm goaded.
I'm fucking so good at the parlor room.
Love the parlor room.
I'm so good at the parlor room.
I hate the parlor room.
Did you finish it?
Yeah, I got the trophy, yeah.
Oh, sorry, for the parlor room.
I was thinking of the other room.
The billiard?
Yeah.
I mean, that I'm good at too,
but I'm tired of the math.
Yeah.
I'm like so.
over it. Especially when you're playing at
like three in the morning and you're like, all right, fucking
think, think, what's three times
six to the power of two? One time I went
in the billiard room
so late and I just looked at the puzzle
and then I just walked away.
My favorite is getting the outer room that allows
you to draft gem rooms
with footsteps instead of gems and then getting
to the parlor room being like, fuck this shit. I don't need
the shovel. The hovel? Oh yeah.
Dude, the hovel will be clutch until
I fuck up. Like sometimes I'll get the
hobble and I'll have a fucked run where I'm like shit I really need those steps yep yep I got I got
you know 12 rooms open um I haven't taken the final exam either sorry somebody in chat was saying
oh I haven't like final exam I need to get there too yeah uh favorite room there's there's so many
there's so many good rooms but I mean honestly hovel is my favorite room yeah because it allows
me to get so much done yeah yeah uh I like the synergy of using the kennel and then the
outer room that adds a bunch of dirt
to every room. Yeah. Because then
you can just unlock all your doors.
Is that outer room? Yeah, the outer room?
The root cellar. The root cellar.
The root cellar, yeah.
Root Cellar, yeah, and then you combine that. I've never done the root
seller. Yeah, if you do root seller and then you combine
it with the kennel, if you draft that early,
and you get a locked door,
it's open. Yeah. That's great.
So cool. Oh, yeah. Shouts out to the dogs.
Any final thoughts, Jan.
There's, I feel like I've barely
cracked the surface
of this and I am so
ready to spend more of my time
in this game and like lose
days of my own life
to it.
Because people going off and chat that
like we have barely
scratched the surface as a collective
and I saw some different room names people were
dropping. I got to get back in there.
Yeah, I'm surprised none of y'all from the planetarium.
It's cool in there. So cool.
Although now like now that I have it, it's one
ones and the people that know, no, right?
Like, it's kind of useless a little bit.
Like, unless you're going to call it a day
in there, then it's fine. But, like, outside of
that, you're not really getting much out of the planetarium, but it's
cool to look at. It's cool to be in. Uh, Kevin, do you
have any final thoughts?
This is just one of the greatest games I've ever
played, and it's like, I feel
so, like, oh,
just, I'm so tired, because
I keep playing this game so much and it's so worth it.
I, like, I don't care
what happens at the end of all
the sanctum keys being in, and
all the dials being turned.
I'm just having such a blast.
You know?
Hell yeah.
Also, what a good way to end?
What a good way to like end your day in real life?
Like, I always am just like, I'm going to do a day in blueprints before I go to bed.
But that's scary.
Don't you get stuck?
We're like, I think I can go a little further if I go one more.
It's usually like two runs.
Yeah.
We got one more.
Hold on.
People were saying bring the telescope to the planetarian.
Oh, yeah.
Have you not done that?
There's a telescope?
Yeah, a lot of times it's in the, what's the ladies room or, you know, the, like, the wife's room.
Yeah.
At least that's where I found it.
I found it there twice.
I don't think I've, have I not seen a telescope?
It's, I mean, it's just, what's the, what's the, what's the, what's the usage for it, like, outside of that.
I don't, I don't believe it has a usage outside of the.
Her ladyship's chambers.
Yeah.
Yeah, folks are saying it's for the planetarium.
Wow.
Oh, planetarium.
You know what?
Man, this game just keeps on giving, man.
This is the give that keeps on giving.
I count it out.
I counted out the planet's hairy.
It turns out there's function there.
Well last question before we end.
Has anybody gotten the wrench as an item?
Yeah, yeah.
No.
I would love to find out what it does because I like one time was like, there's a wrench I could buy.
I'm like, I'm not going to get it.
I got something else.
Another question.
Anybody heard or does anybody know about roommate?
Oh, yeah.
I got that.
You got roommate?
I'm pretty sure I got roommate with like the statue puzzles.
Okay.
not gotten roommate, I've gotten
a key to roommate. Oh, okay.
So I'm trying to figure out what the fuck this key goes to.
So you got to be in rank 8
and when you get to a locked door, that's when you use
the roommate key. Okay. And then it'll unlock a
small puzzle room.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
Sick. It's good stuff. Um, ladies
gentlemen, that's it. That's your spolty cast for
glue prints. God, I want to keep talking about this. I know. I think he
we can go for another hour, but we can't because we got things
to do. Somehow nothing has been spoiled, though.
Yeah, somehow I can go back to this game and play so much more.
