Of course, here, at Kind of Funny, we have a tradition that started probably within the last few years of whenever there's a disagreement, we make a pizza bet. And so me and Roger are like, oh, I think. X thing, Rogers things Y thing. All right, you feel that so strongly? Let's make a pizza bet. Turns out Crimson Desert isn't going to sell 10 million copies a week. We'll talk about it.

All right. Internal numbers, you never know. This guy's still in March, just like Andy. Jump to the future. Of course, we're doing this pizza party. I got a super chat question for you guys. What's your favorite pizza spot? And what are your favorite toppings?

And then we have our pending. These are the pizza bets that are still wait. We've got to wait to see what happens. We can predict. We can predict. So we're going to start off with our cash-ins here. Oh. Well, really quick.

As we're doing this, right, another thing I want to shout out. Again, I said, Cass, let's be more diligent about recording our pizza bets. The other thing I want to, I want to say, because KD has some stuff in there where I'm like, was this really a pizza bet? Or was this just a statement that somebody was just joking? You know, was I joking when I said? Yeah, exactly. Sometimes we cross our fingers behind our back. Sometimes.

Sometimes I'm a goofy guy. Sometimes I'm being a goofy guy. Silly guys. I want to make a declaration here. And we can brief Greg and Tim when they show up. A pizza bet is only official if the handshake occurs. I agree. You got to do a handshake.

It could be a virtual handshake if it's me and Barrett or whatever, but we have to do some sort of handshake. Things are getting officially here. I like that. I'd like to say another thing. I'd like to apologize to you, commission. Oh, okay. I failed a pizza bet, and I bought the pizza that day,

because I'm a Johnny on the spot type of guy. And maybe I selfishly just wanted to eat pizza that day. So I will hold my pizza cash-ins when I'm, when I owe to buy somebody that, I'll do it for the party. That's okay, Mike, because I feel like we're, today is the first day of us trying to officialize and reel in what these pizza bets can be.

Because I look at this pizza bed episode is the thing that can happen multiple times throughout the year. We have so many pizza bets that we can do this two times, three times, maybe four times. This could maybe be more than one beer, two beers, two pizzas. Um, and so yeah, Handshake makes the bet official. Cast.

Are you guys ready to get into the bets that we're caching today? Let's start off one. This is from our personal data here, our personal sheet. Probably the most high profile one we've had recently. On March 19th, Raj.

and myself had a bet. Crimson Desert will sell 10 million copies in one week. Roger said yes. Wow. Well, the reason why, let's talk through it.

Let's talk through it, everybody. The reason why is because we were talking about how it was going to perform comparatively to Black Mouth Wukong, and it was like the hype, the reviews weren't that great, but there was a lot of hype behind it.

So I was like, hey, this game, the streets are talking. You know, people are walking up to me. And they were saying, hey, what's going on with this game? People are like, maybe this is the one, right? So I was looking at Black McWu-Kong.

That's all 10 million in three days, I believe. So I was like, really? A week? You know, three? Oh, seven days is bigger than three? You know what I mean? Gives them time. It felt like a slam dunk.

I think the thing that you had wrong there is that Blackmouth Wu-Kong had the backing of the Chinese government. That is true. That is true. And the entire. And it's a story about Sun Wukong and like Journey to the West and all of that. Yeah. I mean, this is the journey of Cliff. Yeah.

Cliff McBoof. Yeah, journey to the desert. Yeah. Which we'll get to Cliff McDuff in a second, all right? That's another thing that we've got to talk about. Oh, will we? I said no. We have confirmation.

Crimson Desert sold out, I think, 4 million copies. Close. Four million within two weeks of sale. Hey, that's close, everybody. And here's the issue, though. Almost half. We don't really know the internal numbers. Yeah, we do.

They have to share the numbers. I think this is them. Yeah, I think they said this. What if they know it's maybe 12? And then they're just like, hey, we don't want to, we don't want to make everyone feel bad. We don't want. We don't want investors to get to invest more money. And the trial.

time to see everyone struggling. They see the cube will save us going up under in three weeks. They're looking around there saying, we don't want to make them feel bad. We sold 25 million copies. It's a very valid point. Could be coming through. You don't know. Did you get that confirmed? That's a good point. That's a lie. That's not a good point.

Joey, if you're in the back, if you can bring out the first pizza, I already ordered it. I knew it. Yeah. Yeah, if we can get out the first pizza out here. And you said you wanted what type of pizza. I love that. Mr. Pizza Hut himself. We will be eating on this podcast, by the way. I know a lot of people. I'll get to eat right now. I have to wait. My time isn't up yet. Don't worry.

And I like how she does hers because for ours, we have like a lot of different things that we keep track of, right? The date, what the bet is, who the participants are, the then we get into like the nitty radio of like, all right, what's the show, what's the time code, what's the file name, and then one's the bet end? it'll be KFGD November 11th, 2025. What's the base, which is the bet itself? For this one, it is, will actual, will the actual rocket in the Mario Galaxy movie?

Well, no, hold me saying again. Will the actual rocket be in the Mario Galaxy movie? I see. So this is a bet between me and Tim, where there's a rocket in one of the Mario's that flies into space. Me and Tim had a conversation.

What the fuck are y'all saying? There's a rocket? Like a ship? Yeah, there's a rocket ship in one of the Mario games. In like a recent one? In an old one, I'm pretty sure. Oh. Okay.

I want to say, chat, what is it? It might be Mario Brothers, too. And there was a pizza bet about this? Yeah. And the pizza bet was? That's like an Easter. You're talking about this? Yeah.

This thing? No, I thought it was a 2D rocket. Oh, hold on. Super Mario Brothers 2. Right? Mario 2 Rocket. Mini Rocket. I mean, that looks like a 3D version of this rocket.

Okay, I do know this one. So me and Tim were having a conversation on November 11th, 2025. About whether or not this rocket's going to be. Tim said we're going to see this rocket and that's how to get into space. I said, no, it's either going to be a pipe or it's going to be a launch star that launches them into space. And so I won the pizza bit. unfortunately Tim's not here. God damn it, Tim.

And so I'm going to keep this pizza bed on the dock. Okay. I like it. Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah. I was going to say, we have this card. We can just make that happen.

I mean. Oh, you said card. Here's the thing, right? We got a lot more. Yeah, he just left it here versus the other kid. We got a lot more room for more pizza today. Okay. Because let's transition into the decidables.

Oh. All right. These are the ones that we can maybe decide right now. And who gets to decide? Is it me and Mike? All of us together. we get to decide. Me and Mike.

On March 24th, 2026, me and Andy were having a conversation on a kind of funny games daily. We're having a conversation about the one and only Cliff McDuff.

Oh! Allegedly. The conversation was about is his last name McDuff? Because Andy swore that he heard his name be Cliff McDuff.

And I was like, there's no way his last name is McDuff. So he made a pizza bed about it. Andy said his name is McDuff. Duff. I said his name is not McDuff. Barrett, I see you have your cursor on the link.

Do you want to go to that link here? We know that feeling. When Cliff, you know, stopped being McDuff, which was a considerable amount of time in to the recording of this. He was McDuff originally, which is hilarious because I played McDuff last year. Okay. Pause it there. Pause it there. That's Cliff's a voice actor.

And he said Cliff stopped being McDuff. This is from Crimson Desert for anyone who doesn't know who Cliff or Cliff McDuff is. Good call. And you guys were debating. Where did McDuff? Like, how did you know about McDuff? I'm very confused by this. I heard about McDuff because I was watching a lot of their videos.

Okay. A lot of the Crimson Desert videos that they were releasing of like, this is what the game is. Here's a gameplay is. And I'd heard the name several times, Cliff McDuff. And as the voice actor mentioned there, until very, very late into development, he was Cliff McDuff. So this wasn't one of the situations where I just kind of came up with something out of nowhere.

And nothing in the game ever tells you that his name isn't, So I was just like, they don't say his last name, but I saw all those earlier developer videos saying that his name is McDuff. And then, Blessing, what was your take on this? That I didn't hear the word, the word McDuff at all when I was playing the name. I don't believe his last name is Big Duff. It's also like an interesting way where he worded it too, or it sounded, it almost, he makes it sound like it was McDuff for a while. And then it was Cliff in this interview, at least. Can you play it back?

I wonder, is there more context around it? Which was a considerable amount of time in to the recording. but we started off recording with cards of the different parts of Paiwell and then yeah you remember those out yeah this is from friends per second by the way

Okay. That's great. You know, once they settled on Cliff, I just kept pushing and pushing and pushing about story. Okay. Does I remember?

Once they settled on Cliff. He said I played McDuff. Yeah, because Cliff was named McDuff. That was the name McDuff. that was the name of the... How I took this... Oh, okay. Cliff is McDuff for a long time

while they're doing the pre-recording and setting up of the world. And then they said, you know what? His name isn't McDuff anymore. It's Cliff. That's when he said, then I became Cliff, which is the character. So that's how I interpret it.

So to me, I don't interpret it ever as his full name being Cliff McDuff. I remember laughing and reacting to their videos and going, there's no way they named this man Cliff McDuff. That's a dumbass name. And I started making the jokes of like, that's the new Katie Yeager.

And like I started making those jokes of like the awful character names from different like pieces of media that we've all watched and consumed over the past. Now for Andy, this was sports here. I'm going to take it there as well as a judge right now. I need clear and definitive evidence. Yes. That this is true or not true, right? I need to see the ball cross the line. And right now, no one has brought up any sort of last name in front of me.

Someone's got to show me the developer video That says McDuffin. We got to get to them. Because I think I'm willing to give it to Andy If they find an official developer video that says McDuffin it Because I don't care if the developers are saying, hey, this character's named Cliff McDuff, I don't care if you change it by the time. Like the developer shit is show.

My argument is that his name's not Cliff McDuff anymore. Hold up, hold up. Can I get that? Well, I mean, why would he know about that? I mean, you're watching all of the lead up to the fucking thing. You're watching the official developers stuff. Do I have the link? I don't have the link.

I have the which KHD it was. Hold on. Let me see if I can find the link in the time code to the KHD where me and Andy are talking about this. If I get Cliff McDuff in my head, right? And to me, he's Cliff McDuff, Clif McDuff leading up to the game coming out. And the game comes out. I'm just like, here's Cliff McDuff. Oh, I didn't know that says otherwise, you know?

I'm with Andy on that one. If I start the video game and then he goes, by the way, my name's only Cliff, I don't have a last name. Then I'd be like, oh, okay, maybe they changed it recently. But it's like, hey, man, I was just going based off what they were saying. If I was watching a bunch of like developer interviews and developer commentary on GTA4

and they're like his name is Nico Curtis Bellick I play the game and they just call Nico Bellick I'm assuming his middle name is Curtis Belich yeah but then if they say oh in an interview oh by the way is actually the middle name is not Curtis anymore that feels like a technicality.

I just dropped right under the thing a link to the episode for me and Andy have the conversation with the time code next to it being an hour hour and three minutes into the episode. So we can see the context. This is a good conversation because I'm not sure the entire context. I need to see the context.

And so let's see if we can get a bit deeper into it. Hour and three. Almost there. Let's go here. Did you make that up? Did you make that up, chat? Did you just fuck? Are you fucking with me?

Did you make that up? You just fuck, did you? Are you fucking with me? Chad, is he fucking with me? You're fucking with me. Where did I get McDuff at? I was like, this is the way it's an amazing clip, by the way. Mcduff?

She was just made up McDuff? I swear it was McDuff. And like, you corrected it and you're like, but it's with an A. That's crazy. I see it. I see it.

It's a premonition thing to do the extreme. It's just, it's a premonition. I swear it is, Erdy Cooper says it is absolutely McDuff. I'm telling you, man, before the game came out,

I remember watching their videos that they were putting out being like here, and in this world, Cliff McDuff is the fucking guy. It's guys, I don't remember seeing his name McDuff in the game. Pizza butt.

Pizza butt. Pizza butt. Because I don't totally not. Actually, you fuck it. Pizza bet. It's got to be McDuff. His name was not Big Duff. It's got to be McDuff.

There's a chance I didn't put this on YouTube. This may just be one of those that I watched in the middle of. I'm going to look up their videos. I'm going to look up their videos. Well, he got McDuff correct. Like, it was like, it was a thing. It was a thing. It sounded like a hallucinate.

Yeah. No, yeah. Here's the thing. I believe, I believe all that, right? And I believe, I think his name might have formerly been Cliff McDuff. Because I remember reading an IGN preview later in that episode that said, Cliff McDuff. But I just fucked it up.

Oh, it was Simon Cardi's article. Yeah. But I don't think his name is McDuff anymore. I think now it's just Cliff. I think they took his last name out of it. All right. I think we figured this out. So Mike and Roger, you got to figure this out.

Mike, I think this is pretty split in the middle. I think they both have to go 50-50 on a pizza. And they have to split this pizza. Yeah. I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm okay. Unless Mike was a bite.

Unless Mike, you really believe that this is, it's all on you, Mike. I mean, I didn't get clear and definitive evidence that his, that his name was Cliff McDuff. As of right now, it is just Cliff to me. In that clip with the voice actor, it is Cliff. So I am on the side of Blessing Eddie OIA Jr. Barrett, what do you think? Bear, you're the tiebreaker here.

Yeah, oh, man, I would have to go. I think hearing both sides, being swayed one way, being swayed another, I think I would have to go with Roger here. I think it's one of those, you know, like, we understand that Andy didn't get McDuff from nowhere. but it's also one of those weird ones where it's like, I don't know. Or if we're talking about it, right? The whole thing about losing a pizza bed, right, is that you should lose, right? You should feel like you lost something, right?

So they both should split a pizza and then they can't eat it. And he should break his fast. Or no, they both have to buy a pizza, but for the three of us. That's what I'm saying. I think that's a great call. I think they have to split a pizza. But are you setting a president now that like from this four? Obama? We're going to have to do it.

I'm going to joke Are you setting a bad moment here? I'm going to go back eating pizza. Are you setting a U.S. president right now? All right. I think I like that decision. So me and Indy are going to go 50-50 on a pizza.

Let's get into our pending bets. Again, shout out KDG. And shout out to the cast because I do have quite a few of these that were from our internal Google sheet that were using to track these. But we have a lot of pending ones. So let's start off with one from January 13th. The bet was, Will Fable come out in 2026?

I said no. Greg said yes. Right now I'm leaning towards, I think Greg's going to win this. I think Fable will come out in 2026. As of right now, it is tracking, right? If we're talking about it, if we're going to be real about the four horsemen of Xbox that we've dubbed them, right?

You are looking at that. It is tracking for autumn, holiday. What does that really mean? It is, how do you get away from GTA and make sure that Fable has a good launch? Because this is a big, important title for Xbox. You've got to make sure this launch is stellar. You've got to make sure people are jumping in and have time to explore and

love this game. I think it will have legs. And so I don't think like the launch is like make or break per se, but like of course it is. Like it's got to be a big deal here. Yeah. For context, that was again January 13th. So I believe that was before the Xbox direct where they actually revealed that it's slated for this year. And so it was a shot in the dark of like, no, I don't think Fable's coming out. But now I have more belief. Not 100%, but a little bit more belief. I'd like to see December. December for Fable. I'm going December for Fable. Gears before Grand Theft Auto.

I'd like to go years before Grand Theft Auto. You play gears. The diehard stick with it. Boom, we get taken over by Grand Theft Auto. You play Grand Theft Auto for a month, too. And then when we get to the holidays, December, you want a big open role. If you put out Fable in December, think about it, because you're not going to put out Fable in the second half of December, right?

You can't put that out the week of Christmas. So you're going to put that out in the first half of December when GTA just launched? And do you want to deal with the Pepsi Coke challenge of look what GTA does and what Fable, you know, look at it, you know, Fable just came out

and I can't even do this. Look, let me throw a rock into the water and fucking, you know, little whatever GTA is going to do tech-wise, right? Like,

I don't know. I like, the only reason I like December is because I want them to have more time on it. Like, whatever it gives you most time as possible. Just keep it till 2027.

especially if... Tim will appreciate gears. If it's a good gears game, Tim will appreciate it. And we know, well, we don't know, but... In my opinion, if they're smart and if they're doing this right, it's not this 38-hour-plus experience. This is going to be hopefully super quick, efficient, get in, get-out, tell an awesome story with great action.

And it's a prequel, so pick up and play, you don't have to have the baggage of the games. You know what we can get people in the office that have not played the other one, say, hey, this is a prequel, just started. And it's going to look crazy. Dude, I'm, I'm so fucking excited for that game, man. I got, I'm telling blessing, joke, like, off the record, but also now it's on the record. When I saw that fucking, that post that it was like, oh, it's like the direct after the Xbox showcases, gears of war. I cried a little bit. I'm so excited for this game.

I'm, like, so emotionally excited for this game. I didn't realize. gears meant that much. Oh, it means so much to me. It's like everything. Yeah, I love it. I'm so excited. Die hard.

So it sounds like right now at this table, Mike is tracking to win this bet. For what? Forza, Gears. And when does that come out, do you think? Which one? Gears?

I'm still putting gears before. And I'm like, that seems really close. I mean, this fall. But yeah. If you're going by the December. Developer Direct,

like it will, I think it'll be fall. I think those games are always coming out in fall when you end. We did Outer Worlds. Or, yeah, Outer Worlds, too. Outer Worlds was like November? .

Yeah, I want to say November for... Maybe an October game, Gears is on October. We still have Call of Duty you got to dance with too. Don't forget about that. Yeah, that's true. You're literally going Halo Gear... Outer World's 2 was October 29th of last year. I feel like Gears and Call of Duty being released within weeks of each other isn't as big of a deal.

I feel like those are different enough. Yeah. I agree. On the same day, maybe on the same episode, I'm actually not sure. There was another bet made. That Lego Batman will be on our game. of the year, 26. Greg said no. Mike said yes. Oh, do you still think so? I'm torn. I think there's a big interest in the office for Lego Batman, and I think if they can deliver it, it looks very good.

It looks promising. We'll see. I think when I think of the Lego games, though, in total, I don't think it's game of the year now, right? It's like an 80, a solid like, hey, this is a great game. I don't think it's just like a, yo, this is it right here. But I do ride for Batman. I could see it if it hits and they learn the lessons from the Skywalker Saga. And it's like not get too bloated, but still have like a lot of that like fun and interesting stuff that they were playing around with in Skywalker Saga. And then also like really lean into the Batman Arkham kind of like flow and combat and all that stuff. I think it could really grab Roger myself and Greg at least. I think you got me, you got Andy about to play City here.

Like you got an opportunity. And Lego's just got the charm in the window. I do think that this is one of those games that we could be very high on once it comes out. But once, you know, actual game of the year comes around, we're going to look around and be like, there's no way. This is our 11-12. It's could be split fiction. 100%. I think there's so many good games that are slated for this year.

When we're having this conversation, we're having the argument between Gears, Fable, and Forza. Like, when those three exist, I'm looking at Batman Lego and I'm like, if we're not sure if all those three are there, I don't know if I'm thinking that Lego Batman's going to be in top 10. You know, not to minimize it, but it is a kid's game, right? It is going for a specific audience. And you watch those trailers and it's like, oh, it's very kiddie. Like, the humor is like that. Oh, we had Astrobot.

Well, sure, but I think it's a different type of thing, right? Like, there's voice acting in this, right? They're going for, like, actual jokes that are just not going to hit for some of us. Like, I think there's, like, family games and there's kids games. And I view Astrobot is like anybody, like, Astrobot, even though kids can play it. Like, they have adults in mind as well while they're developing that game of, like, Oh, we want our full audience to play that. Whereas Lego, I think, is so aimed at kids.

Our next thing. I'm excited, though. I'm super excited to try it out. On February 10th, 2026. This is a tragic one. A bet was made that 2XCO will be shut down in two years. That bet was made by Greg Miller against best friend in chat. Name Herbie.
