It's your boys, Snowbike Mike, welcoming you in to another episode of the Kind of Funny Games Cast plays afternoon stream. It's Mike. It's Bless. Yes. Ready to rock and roll and play some NBA The Run.
Starting point is 00:01:03 now that it's finally released bless i'm so excited for this i'm excited too because we have a very special guest to be our third to round out our squad bless we got the big boss CEO and founder of play by play studios scott probes to be on our team how's that sound i mean that sounds like we're about to destroy it online i'm really excited about this big got a ringer Thank you, Scott. How are you feeling today? And, of course, congratulations on the launch for you and your team of the NBA of the run. Thank you. Now the pressure is on, right? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:38 After that, let's go. Now everybody knows we're going to turn to you. You got to have the game. It's right. We need to win a chip today. Yeah. I was just telling Mike before the show that it's getting, it's getting hard out there. Like the first couple nights was, you know. Oh, is sweaty? He was a hundred hours of log, but, you know, now it's getting, it's getting, it's getting hard.
Starting point is 00:01:57 getting tough to win some chips. So let's have some fun. We got to lock in then. The level of play has risen. I am happy to report that earlier today, I did win my first chip. So I got one, but I'm ready to get one as a unit here. I played solos. We got to get the squad together.
Starting point is 00:02:13 You want a chip in solos? I want a chip in solos. That's hard to do. Truth be told, I tried solos last night, like at 11 p.m. And I got to the finals, somebody bracket-bust. Oh, no. Well, this is hard to pull out. Well, let's talk about it before we hit play.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Scott, of course, big congratulations to you and the team. The game has released this week. How are you feeling? How's the reception so far? Let's just get that out in the open right now. How you vibe? Yeah, I mean, it's amazing, man. First of up, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I appreciate you guys having me on the show and here to represent the team to play-by-play. I think this has been a passion project from day one. Everyone on this team loves this game. passionate about this game, we put everything we have in this game. And I think if you had come out and to see the reception that we've seen from the fans and the community, recognize there's decades of shoes we've got to fill here between the jams and the streets and every arcade grade that came before us. And we don't take that likely. So we're very excited by the
Starting point is 00:03:14 number of people who are coming in and the feedback we're getting from the community and everybody in Discord. So we appreciate everybody. And yeah, we're looking forward to a fun road ahead of and be in the run for the future. I like that vibe. Okay. A little, one from you. I got the audience saying, Scott, make sure you're talking loud into that microphone for everybody. I think it's the warm-up music is really hitting right now. It's got me in the vibe. Scott, bless, let's talk about our squad. There we go, much better. Let's talk about our squad before we jump in. Bless, who are you playing as? Who do you want to run with on tournament number one? I mean, I know, listen, I'm not trying to be that guy. Okay. I was between three options.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Lay it on me. LeBron, of course. Wemby, of course. But I think I'll land it on Steph Curry. I think I'm going to be shooting three. You're going to be our shooter. I like that. Scott, who do you want to run as? I was going to run as SGA, but if Les is going to run as our shooter, I'm going to be a big. So I'm going to take yons. I'll be our inside man and we'll run them down in the paint. All right, Scott, I like that. If you're going to be our big man, be our big man. I was going to say, I'll be our big man. But I've heard, I've heard there was one bad man. Oh, yeah. The team had to mess around with some of the stats because he was so bad. so bad to the bone.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Scotty Barnes. I'm going to play a Scotty up in the six. And let's see if we can run some circles around some teams. What do you say, squad? Let's do it. Got a ready up and go right in. There we go.
Starting point is 00:04:39 So Scott, we're jumping in. Our first tournament, of course. Now, you jump in, you can jump in solos or squads with your crew. You're going to go into a tournament bracket with different rules and settings. What was the thought process behind that of the tournament setting first,
Starting point is 00:04:53 opposed to just, hey, this is just either casual game or ranked gameplay. Short stories keep you on your toes. You know, we wanted to create a game where you never know what you're going to get when you go in. And I think the strategy and pre-game planning, like we just did, it's going to be our game, it's going to be our shooter. You have to approach the game, pre-plan and strategy it before you go in, because you're never going to know what that kind of rule set carousel is going to give you. So I think for us, it's like we want to create a game where there's always this tension and you're always on your toes
Starting point is 00:05:22 you've got to pay attention and you're going to get cooked. Was there ever conversation of in between the rounds after you win to switch characters or was it always just let's run. Look at that. Lock. Great job. Scott! Come on.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Look at that start. Sorry, one time. We're going to get excited. Was there ever conversation of switching characters in between rounds or was it just, hey, you picked your player, let's get this tournament going? We toyed around with that quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:05:51 I think for us, we wanted to create this kind of this feeling where, you know, you're going into this four-round bracket and you don't know what you're going to get. So if you kind of knew what the rule set was, then you can say, you know, for instance, this is a triple threat. We could go all steps and we've got an advantage. So it felt like it was kind of exploitable. Okay. If you let people do that. So we wanted to create this thing where it's like, you've got strategy. You've got to plan ahead.
Starting point is 00:06:15 And then depending on the rules that you get, things are going to be different. You pick that out. Oh, no, don't do it. Woo. Nice. By the way, we're getting all dunks, but we're up five-one. Yeah, we got this. Yeah, we got to get some threes in there.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Yeah, that's going to be you blessed. We're going to have to make some room for you. I got it. Oh, no. Nice safe. Bless. Oh, I was running with it. Why don't you try that again?
Starting point is 00:06:38 Nice, Scott. There we go. So one tip I saw Mike, I think you went up and got the board after that guy missed that shot. Yes. If you run up instead of trying to hit, what is it, triangle to get the board, you can. can hit square for the footback like that. Nasty.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Yeah, I saw that. Reminded me last night. There you go, bless. That's what I was saying before the show. I was like, that's a play for our game. Oh, no. Oh, pocket. Picking the pocket.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Good. Give me that. There we go. Step on step. Scotty. No. These guys are good. Oh, KD, with the shirt off.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Now, of course, some players have alternate versions of themselves. We're playing Seattle, KD, which I love that. What was the thought process behind a couple of those players? I mean, I think a big part of it is like, these guys are legends and to see coming KD
Starting point is 00:07:41 as a supersonic, to see a supersonic period that's just cool in and of itself. And a lot of people forgot that KD was a supersonic when he was a rookie. So I think just seeing that and then having these guys in their rookie year uniforms is unbelievable. But then the other pieces from a balancing standpoint, we didn't
Starting point is 00:07:57 just want to give him an outfit, right? Like we wanted them to play different and have different abilities and different skill sets. So KD rookie is going to play different things. So they got two KD's, right? I just realized that. Yep. Double KD. Oh, get that out of here. It's hard to play and talk. Yeah, isn't that the best guy is right? You're becoming the live streamer right in front of us, is right. But every one of the rookies is going to play different and feel different than their actual modern day version. So whether you grab LeBron or SGA or KD, they're all going to play. I little bit differently. They're going to play more likely playing on the rookie year, which I think leads to them feeling unique with each and every player in the game. That's awesome. Was it hard to
Starting point is 00:08:38 do that to make them feel so unique and so different even though they're so similar? But, yeah, was that difficult? I would say Mike Young, who's our creative director, probably hasn't slept in a couple years working through that process because I think part of this is, you know, we've got 40-some-odd characters in your total. The NBA, players, the street legends we've got rookies. All right we're winning. We got six seconds. Yeah, we're up by three. We're up by three. Shoot
Starting point is 00:09:05 that. Rand the clock, we're good. We'll take that. You did the Deerran Fox. Put the right way this time around. Yeah, yeah, got to hold it. Of course, everyone watching out there, I know I've been dominating the questions to get us going, but I will be checking in on you over on YouTube and on Twitch to be
Starting point is 00:09:23 asking some questions to Scott, the CEO of the NBA of the run team play-by-play studio. So if you have some questions you want, we'll be grabbing some questions from the chat, asking them while we're playing with the squad today. I think to finish off on that question too, Mike, we spent a lot of time tuning and balancing every single player because in real life, all these guys, they're 97, 98,
Starting point is 00:09:46 99. They're unbelievably good, right? From a game play standpoint, we want everyone to feel different. We wanted this to feel like a character-driven game. That means every single player has to look and feel and play differently. We can't just set all these guys in 99. So Mike Young, as our creative directors, always said, we want to create players with towering strengths and also clear weaknesses.
Starting point is 00:10:07 So it's never a feeling of like this one person is just going to dominate the court. I think he's done that really well. We talk about having over 40 players, as you said. We have some variations of players now, of course. How did we land on each one of the players from those teams? Was there a studio vote to have, you know, Janice over someone else from the Bucks? Was there a vote on Steph
Starting point is 00:10:29 over Draymond? What was that decision-making process like? It was definitely a constant conversation. We've got some on the team. We've got people who are casual fans of the NBA all the way to hardcore, unbelievably like lifetime fans of basketball and NBA.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Terry Smith is our art director. For example, I'm trying to block this guy. We'll talk. Sorry. Terry has been in and around the sport of basketball for, you know, close to 50 years. this point. He knows it better than anybody. So I think he's got a clear opinion about who should be on from each and every team. So that's Mike, so do I. So I think it's always just been this conversation amongst the team of who should be the player from each one of the teams.
Starting point is 00:11:09 And then, of course, coming, that allows me to get into the game or the chat now. I have problem right, right, again, and says, hey, what is the timeline for adding new players, right? So, of course, Scott, you would now have the audience playing the game. They're eager for what's next. What is the timeline of creating players? What can players expect from the roadmap if there is a roadmap? Yeah, I think we need to, it's a very good question. Oh, dang, I was supposed to talk that. It's a very good question.
Starting point is 00:11:36 I think what I'm seeing, just out in the wild myself just playing the game. It's like the players themselves and the different versions of the players, damn, we just got to spend it. That was crazy. Yeah. It's big, right? Like, I think what I'm seeing is a lot of people are saving up their cred to get, you know, KD rookie, to get SGA rookie, to get,
Starting point is 00:11:54 LeBron rookie. So I think the characters and the players themselves are very meaningful, which tells me, moving forward, that's something we definitely got to pay attention to. So we don't have any specifics in terms of, like, dates and players, but I will say that the plan is to evolve the game, right? So we want to bring in new players.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I think we have all different opportunities and places we can go, whether that's, you know, current, modern day players, whether that's legends that we bring into the game. We'd love to bring the W into the game. So I think there's all different kinds of directions we could go, like Mike, our conversation right before this. You can go outside of the NBA.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Maybe we pull Adam Sandler in here and get the Sandman playing along with us. So I think there's all different kinds of opportunities to go. And it's definitely something that we're going to build on post-launch. Wow. Okay, okay. I love that you bring up the W. I think that's pretty sick. Of course, yeah, the big hit was Adam Sandler.
Starting point is 00:12:41 That's fun of like the idea of going outside the NBA. But the W is great as well. That's fantastic stuff to hear. Absolutely. Yeah, I think there's all different kinds of directions we can take, you know. So, I mean, the world of the world of bad. Basketball is unbelievably big, and I think whether it's NBA, WNBA, retired players, we're exploring all those lanes internally.
Starting point is 00:13:01 It's definitely something we intend to build off. That's awesome. Yeah, talking about evolving the game, of course. Guys, let's talk about evolving our game really quick, okay? Good first round, good first tournament. Here we are. I see Blessing and said, you know what? I'm going with the alien.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Yeah, I'm going with the alien. We're on one B. You want to go big on them? Yeah. I saw you get a couple of good blocks, too. Well, that's the thing is, you know, Steph Curry, not necessarily out here. blocking one-be. You know, that game winner that they got for that last game has kind of given me a change of heart.
Starting point is 00:13:29 I was hitting the threes. It's the thing where, because of the rule changes, that first game were dominating, right? And I feel pretty good because I'm shooting the threes. Second game, the dunks were where you're getting the threes. Okay. And I think we weren't doing a great job of getting that ball into the hands of people that were able to dunk. Yeah, of course. And so, like, I'm trying to figure out how to add more variety to our game right now.
Starting point is 00:13:45 I like that. I like that. I like that. Well, I'm going to go Brunson then. We got Ant on it right there with Scott. So that looks good. We're rounding out the squad. Of course, I see a fun one.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Ponton brings up. You could bring an Ernie, Kenny, Shaq, and Chuck. That would be fun as the TNT Squad. Hey, if you listen. You also have a great one. You have a great one with backyard baseball coming back. You could put Pablo Sanchez the goat at all sports. Come on.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Figure out that, how to put the kids in. They are good friends of ours, the people over at Playground Productions. Lindsay and Kristen team, we're big fans of the backyard sports franchise. So we're excited about July. 9th when they come out. Oh, man, that's awesome to see some cross love right there.
Starting point is 00:14:25 That's amazing. You're going on very well. League of people and we're stoked about the return of that franchise. Well, since we're talking about the NBA on TNT, now ESPN Squad, you, of course, have teamed up with the NBA. What was that like? Of course, we've talked about the journey the last time you guys were on, but what was that like now being seen by the NBA, working with the NBA?
Starting point is 00:14:45 What's all that like? Dang, Brunson got knocked down. Here we go. There we go. Yeah, we're up. It's a, I mean, it's a dream come true. I think you probably know the story, but I'll give you the brief version. All these guys know what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Yeah, we're looking for out of you boys. Before the game was NBA to run, there we go. The game with the run got next, right? So we're a small independent game development team. We built this thing from the ground up as the run got next. Which was fictional players to start, street legends, a lot of the legends that you see in the game right now. And when we announced that game, I think that was in July of 2024, to probably about two years ago now. I think the very next day after we announced the game, the NBA hit us up and said, let's go.
Starting point is 00:15:33 There it is. That should have been it. They said, hey, you'd like to talk, you know? And I think for us, it was like, block that. It was a dream come true for the ability to work with the NBA. I mean, it takes us to a whole different level, changes the game entirely. And so literally they hit us up on July 24th. And by August 1st, we were modeling LeBron.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Wow. We were going to go. And so now working with the NBA, of course, it gives you access to the NBA players. But what other access does that give to you? Can you do a stadium or a court after the NBA? Can you do NBA Hall of Famers? How deep is the bag when that comes to it? Yeah, I think it's, you have the ability to get all of the active.
Starting point is 00:16:19 of NBA players. So there's the NBA and the NBA Players Association, right? And so we work with both organizations. So that's fantastic because the NBA gives you licensing rights to all the teams. I think the stadiums are part of that as well. Mascots as well. So that's a definite direction we could go down. Oh, that's fun. And then the NBA controls all the players within the active player pool, which I think there's 450 active players. So it gives us the ability to utilize anything under those kind of umbrellas, any of the active players on the roster as well as any of the teams, stadiums, mascots, et cetera. I mean, they've been unbelievable partners.
Starting point is 00:16:53 I think for the NBA and the PA, how big they are, the fact that they're a massive global organization, they took interest in us and our game and our idea. It speaks volumes about them. I think they want, they see a space for this game, they see a place for this game, and they want to bring these types of games back. And so it was amazing that they reached out to us and said,
Starting point is 00:17:12 hey, you know, we're as excited about making this kind of game as you are. You know, it's been a match made in heavens since day one. Let me know if you can answer this. If not, Scott, it's okay. Is there any, like, knows from the NBA? Are there rules that the NBA looks at you and says, hey, we don't want you to take the game this direction or that direction if you did want to evolve it in certain ways? Or they open to conversations with what you might want to add?
Starting point is 00:17:34 Players, characters, locations. Yeah, I mean, it's the latter. They have been, when I say this, I mean, they have been unbelievably fantastic partners. They have been supportive of our game design, of our game mechanics, and the players we want to use of how we want the game to play, they have been nothing but supportive this entire time. I can't think of a single feature or game mechanic that we had, you know, some kind of disagreement or argument about.
Starting point is 00:17:58 They've been really on the, you know, kind of the tip of we want to make this game special and we trust in you guys and your experience and game development to bring this thing to life. Wow. So it's been awesome. That's really cool. And then I want to get to evolving the game, of course. I see Free Onion over in the YouTube. chat and you have some great questions. I see you audience.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Continue to ask those questions. We are here with Scott for a full hour. So we're going to be talking NBA of the run for a long time here. But let's talk about evolving the game. You have certain game modes now. What are some highlights of the game modes that you like right here that we can randomly pull? And then, of course, how would you evolve some of those? Yeah, I think my favorite one right now is one we actually added from the beta,
Starting point is 00:18:42 which is called Zonebreaker. So we've got this mechanic called In the Zone, where you've got a build up your zone meter. We don't have it in this mode, actually is one of the rules set changes. But you build up your in the zone meter. And over time, that takes you into kind of an elevated state. And I think there's 12 different zone abilities. So like, you know, ants a crazy dunker. So it makes him an even crazier dunker. Some people become better rebound. Some people become better passers. And the zone breaker mode set that we put in. That ball's at the moon right now. Got it. Let's go. Yeah. Oh, how did he block an out of
Starting point is 00:19:16 the past month. Oh, that's you, Whippey. There we go. That zone breaker rule set that we put in became one of my favorites really quickly. So it's first to 30, twos and threes. But when you're in the zone, you get a plus one to your buckets. So you can shoot a three-pointer for four.
Starting point is 00:19:35 You can shoot, you know, you can hit a dunk for three. Nice. And so what it does is it reinforces teamwork and collaboration. You've got to play as a team. If somebody's in the zone, you want to feed them the ball. It forces you down a path if you should be doing things like tricks and passing and collaborating with your teammates because that's what builds are in the zone meter. So I think that zone breaker rule sets my personal favorite. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:56 And it's one way added based on community feedback. Yeah, on the community feedback side, where's the best place for players to share their feedback, right? Do you guys have a hub, a home? Are you checking all socials for players to share? Yeah, I think go to any one of our official social counts. I would say our most active one is our Discord account. So good to jump into our Discord because I think we're super active in there. We read all the comments in there as we do with IG and YouTube.
Starting point is 00:20:22 I mean, this team is constantly scouring, sourcing, looking for feedback. We've got our own internal Slack channel as a team, and we've got this channel called like awesome gameplay clips. And so we're constantly looking at different gameplay clips and feedback from the community. So I think Discord's probably the best place going to our official Discord, but we're reading everything. We're looking at everything, and we feel like this is a game that we can build and evolve with the community. That was a heartbreaker, just so you know.
Starting point is 00:20:50 You know what? We got so close. That was a tough one. We got so close. Game by one, first is seven. We were close on that one. We're getting close. I know there's a lot of questions being thrown at Scott, so we're not working as a team.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Like we would. We'd probably be communicating a little more, a little more. But we're going to keep going right now. We're going to try one more time. I like this squad. I do like the squad. I like being Wemby. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:12 You like being Wemby? I like being Wemby, yeah. Okay. I like that. What do you like being Wembe about? Is it just the blocking? I feel dominant in the paint. You know, it's the being able to get up there for the alley you and feel reliable.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Yeah. Then, yeah, the blocking also helps. Now, Scott, you have three modes that you can jump into. You have squads. You have solos. And then the third one, which is friends mode. Can you tell me a little bit more about that? We haven't jumped into that yet.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Yeah, I can in one second, but one other thing I want to mention. All of these tournaments, local team and team, So we're about to go into someone else's finals. You see this right now? Oh, finals. We've got an opportunity to bracket bust. Oh, snap. They're having to your finals.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I love that. We can send them a vote. So this is another thing that we built in where it's like you can be in a finals, but someone else may not, and they may have an opportunity to come in and take your trophy from it. Oh, I love that. And we think it's still really special to develop over time. We got to give these games to their money.
Starting point is 00:22:08 All right, well, we're going alleyup time then. Oh. Oh. here we go I'm sensing they're good they got two KDs and a Kauai so they got they got a bunch of tall guys
Starting point is 00:22:21 but we got we got tall guys let's get it let's get a stop here we'll put pause on the questions and let's get WD yeah let's lock in I'm here some alley oops and let's get let's get some wins here I'm running back on that got my hands on it
Starting point is 00:22:36 oh no great great great all right up there yeah let me he's sort of the rim oh you block my alley you yeah no shot oh I got it I got it oh yeah I'm moving slow right now I got it oh no no I got it I run run run coming up to you so yeah there we go all right bless it get down that key yeah yeah big by go Scott go oh oh I missed the bag no shot no shot Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Coming out you, Scott. Oh, Scott's doing the solo. There we go. He's doing it all by himself. I'm about to send these guys home. Here we go. You're up there, baby. Jalen Brunson.
Starting point is 00:23:31 No. Let's go. There is. There we go. Send him home. Send him home. Oh, no. Your bracket's been busted, baby.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Busted that bracket. Let's go. There we go. So we talk about maybe at one point in time, we'll have like Bobbeaut. in and pack of a truck and take the trophy away at the trophy tonight years and someone else. Oh, that'd be fun. We could build on it a second time, but we just
Starting point is 00:23:55 sent those guys home. Oh, my God, that's awesome. If we lock in, we lock in, we're on stop. There you go. When we lock in, maybe a little less interview questions. Yeah, right? We got it. It's right, team. Good job, I think the aloeups are our specialty. I think we got the aloeups down. Yes, yes, yes. I will, when Scott's doing three solo allelubes back to back to back, we got that is right. First of 30. Here's your zone breaker that Scott was talking about.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Yeah, it's an interesting one, right? Like you get in here, if your teammate gets into, this one reinforces teamwork, right? Because you'll hear a lot of people say no one passes. If you don't pass in this game, you're going to lose. So you need to move the ball around. It's really important to have teamwork. And in this mode in particular, it's even more so because if your teammate gets in the zone, feed them the ball because everything they shoot is plus one.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Okay. And so, of course, we're working to get into the zone through what moves here, Scott? What is going to feed that bar? So anything that right there, defensive moves, you know, advanced blocks, any of these advanced tricks, don'ts like that, moving the ball around, hitting alley-Ubs, trick moves like that guy's just doing with STA. Scott got in position, man, though. Oh, he's dancing with us. I'm going over to Brunson. I'll try a bullpen.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Katie's nice. Yeah, Katie's real nice. Oh. Yeah, so everything you're doing that. There. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, we got this.
Starting point is 00:25:31 There we go. There we go. Good after passes team. Lance might stop. And now how many in the zone differences are there? You said there's, of course, the dead eye with Steph. You got a defensive one with Wembe. How many of there are there?
Starting point is 00:25:46 What's the variations? I think there's 12 different zone abilities that you can take. Okay. Stum are going to be like posterizers, what I think, Ant has. He becomes just like an unstoppable dog. bunker almost. I think you had the ball right there's deep threat.
Starting point is 00:26:01 So he's going to be a better shooter as with Steph. SGA's got amped up, so he'll I think he runs a little faster. His stamina drains a little bit less. Every single player is, I think there's 12 different abilities. They're all going to have a different strategy when they go in his
Starting point is 00:26:17 own. Were there something left on the game room floor when you were creating them? What's one that you wish you added? I'm sorry? Was there a you think you got all the ones that you wanted? For launch, I mean, it's like to get 40-some-odd characters and to get all of the different abilities and then 12 different zone abilities
Starting point is 00:26:38 and to get all that stuff kind of sitting nicely where no one person is extremely overpowered is very hard to do. So I feel like we probably bit off more than we could chew and I feel good about what the team delivered. That said, is there always only going to be 12? No, we'll find way more to do. I like that.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Feedback, community, hop in there, let us know. We're happy to create some new zone. How's that you can get fun with it? How's everybody's bar looking right now? I'm almost half. How are we looking? Oh, I'm past half. Past half, let's get out. Yeah, no, I'm like, I'm almost there.
Starting point is 00:27:08 I love that. I think he's ready. He's smoking. He's smoking. He's warming up. Yeah, so if we get him involved, here we go. So if you activate. Activate, bless.
Starting point is 00:27:17 He activates right there. There we go. There you go. There you go. And then dunks will count for them. So just keep. him the ball right shoot it up last we need you said there he go last three yeah this person oh first second i thought they gave up oh give that oh get that out of here bless
Starting point is 00:27:40 so i think wemby's in the zone oh i don't there you go i don't know i don't know that the ball my bad i held it too long i think oh he's in the zone ability is paint patrol so he's going to be even better at block so here we go oh you're out of the zone Get out of his own. Let's take it. Put a big body on him. Thank you to a rich boy who has just gives out five tier one subs to the kind of funny crew here on Twitch. We appreciate your support.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And thanks for watching today's games cast plays. We're sitting down playing NBA the run. It's launch week. Scott. Scott's hot. Scott's hot. We got to get them up. Until they got body right here.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Give me that. No. Yeah, we're good boys. We're good. We're good. We got them. All right. So I'm in the zone. Give me the ball. There we go. Oh, big ants. Oh, so. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Now I'm out of the zone. All right. So, Mike, are you about to go in the zone? I am half still. So I got, I got some work to do.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Get some tricks. There you go. Oh, there we go. Short corner jump. We got Brunson's little, uh, yeah, we got Brunson's little bully runner in there. Nice job, team. 12 seconds on the clock. Here we go, shoot that in. Brunson. Oh, that's a win.
Starting point is 00:29:18 We beat him on time. Nice. Good game, though. Good game, though. I felt good. We got, we got a little cheeky, a little cheeky super chat coming in from the YouTube channel right now. Red shirt wants to know, hey, question for the devs over on NBA of the run.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Sam up by 25 and half time. What's the game plan for the rest of the game? Should I just chuck up bad threes? That's a good question. I'm going to no answer that one, because I think that doesn't have to do with our game necessarily. Very good question. But I'm going to dodge that question. I'm going to say, I can't be in the run because there is no half time.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I do appreciate RJ King who responds to that and says $5 well spent. Thank you for that. We truly appreciate the support. That's super chat. I think we just got the same game mode back in practice there. Another one? Let's do it. We got Zone Breaker again?
Starting point is 00:30:10 Zone breaker, yeah. Okay. And semifinals. We're at the Rucker. Semi-finals, we're at the Rucker. Now, how many locations did you guys settle on court-wise? And what were some of your favorites here? Of course, the Rucker, my favorites, no matter what.
Starting point is 00:30:25 It's great history here. What other ones did you love? How many do you got? Yeah, we have seven different locations, and then there's 11 courts in total because we have four different tournament variations. So when you go to the finals, see like a Rucker final court, which is a whole different kind of looks at the Rucker. So it's still at Rucker, but it's a wood floor.
Starting point is 00:30:44 It's painted differently. There's kind of a, you know, a bigger crowd there. There's nighttime. So the seven different courts is what we have. And then the four tournament courts is 11 in total. I would say, I mean, the tournament courts are sick. The tenements awesome. The tenements probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite courts.
Starting point is 00:31:01 And then I'd say Venice Tournament, which is like the nighttime Venice court, which I think looks really good. Anytime Wemby has the ball, y'all make sure you're spamming up that steel button because he's got no handles, Bles. He's asking for you to steal that. Hit some trick moves. Yeah, that in zone meeting. Here we go. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Oh, Blinburne. We got that. We're good. We're good. Oh. And blocked ant. It's going to duck. Grab it.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Oh. Oh. We're caught. I keep getting my, I keep mixing myself up with the other Wembe. clones. Yeah, so one of the things that can help is go gray scale opponents. So in the front end, in the main menu, I think it's a left button toggle. That might be a right button toggle, but you can set your teammates to full color and you can set the opponents to grace.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Oh, I love that. Yeah, I want to the future. Tell us, Scott. I was just going to say the game moves so fast and colors are bright, so it's hard to keep track of everything. And when you have double wembies, you know, you can get mixed up. So I play with gray scale opponents so then I can see my player and my team much more visibly than the other team. Helps when you're getting left job on island. It's all good.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I lost myself. That's all right. We're there. Oh no. We're looking like game three. Rough. Stefan Castle over to Wembe. They're only up eight.
Starting point is 00:32:29 They're not up 30. We got this. Yeah, we're there. That's a little bit. I got it. Oh, it saved me. Yeah. You saved me blessed.
Starting point is 00:32:37 I want to find a chat from Catherine who asked about accessibility. And, you know, what were some of the things that you guys looked at? You talked about Grayscale. What were some of the ways that you and the team try to look at accessibility in the game, making it easier for people to read what's going on on the screen? Yeah, I think Grayscale opponent, this is one big one. We put in this mode called the shoot-around mode in the front end, which is kind of like a, you know, it's an opportunity for you to go in and test players out,
Starting point is 00:33:05 test your load out you can put dunks on taunts on and test things out it's kind it's not really like a tutorial i find it as like a it's kind of like a chill mode to just go in by yourself and shoot hoops and you can figure out like what's everybody's range how do they shoot at this distance and that's a fun mode another thing we have in there is the ability to fill teammates so if you wanted to play with uh bots instead of with other players you can go into like chaos squads for example and turn off fill teammates and you'll fill with other bots. And then I think the other thing from an accessibility standpoint, because I recognize getting online and playing people
Starting point is 00:33:40 is difficult. We're in the midst of it right now. The Kio Friends game mode. I think it's a nice game mode that you can play up to 48 players, all your friends, you can invite them, you can host live tournaments, or you could just jump in there by yourself and play on your own.
Starting point is 00:33:56 So I've got a good friend of mine who's a game dev, and he's like, I'm playing Kio Friends because I went into squads and got it handed to me. I think I'm not good enough yet. So he's just playing against the AI and KO Friends. He's found a really good way to figure out, like, strategy and how to play against people. And now he's going to start running squads this weekend.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Okay. I thought I had that. Take that. I thought that was good. Oh, oh, give me that. Good steals. There we go. You got it, Scott.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Yeah. There he's in the zone now. The zone. I like that. I'm almost in the zone as well. This is our stop here. Yep. That's our rebound.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Oh. All right, we got to get it to Scott. Let him work. Oh, my Scott. Oh, damn. Sorry. I thought he was going to block me, so I stopped. No.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Oh, he's hot. All right. So they're playing the mode now, too. Yeah. Oh, no. Come on. Wembe in Paint Patrol. He's hard to dunk on.
Starting point is 00:35:01 There we go. Go for it. Yeah, bless you got it. There you got to get a blessing for four. That's a four-pointer. That puts us in the game. Four pointer we tied up. Yeah, we need the ball though.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Oh no. No. No. Good try. All right, we'll give it back. Nice. Here we go. Shoot four.
Starting point is 00:35:20 For three, Blas. Let's go. Oh, that's so good. So good. That was good stuff right there. All right, squad. Great job on that one. We went to the semifinals.
Starting point is 00:35:38 We've been there a couple of times. A good last game. We're going to. We're going to come back and we're going to be even better. But before we come back, we're going to take a quick word from our sponsors. We're going to take a quick ad break. And then we're going to jump in and I see some super chats from Dustin Wood. Yes, we're going to ask Scott the big questions that you want to know about what's next for the game.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Because, Scott, you know the question's coming at you. People want to know about offline single player modes. And we're going to ask Scott that question right after a word from our break. We'll see you in just a moment. This episode's brought to you by Factor. Sometimes hunger strikes. and you are just exhausted. Or you're hosting shows back to back to back,

Starting point is 00:37:16 Yep. But we're not in this stream until we get a dub. Oh, yeah. We got to get a dub. I'm with you. Scott's got a family. He's got a newborn child. He's busy. He's like, Mike, please God, no. We got kids to win. We got a win. So let's switch up the squads. I got SGA. We got LeBron. I'm going to Bede. I'm going to big man. I'm going to be big man. I like this. Let's do it. All right. Scott, you know, I got to ask you the big question. The big question to start off this tournament. everybody wants to know. We talk about the evolution. You have two or three full online modes about playing with your friends, playing with the threesome squad, or playing solo.
Starting point is 00:37:51 But people want to know, is there going to be an offline mode? Will there be a story campaign? What more are you going to add to this game for the people out there? I mean, it's something that's been in conversation for a long time amongst the dev team, right? And I think right before launch, we did a long, like it was like a two-hour podcast with Soft Drink TV. awesome you know it was a great conversation I think yes a similar question and I think you know never say never I can't commit like we're gonna definitely do that I think we've been talking about this idea for quite some time but given the size
Starting point is 00:38:23 that we are you know we're an 18 person dev team so we're small and I think for us this was about focus and how we build the best game out of the gate and we didn't want to up I was trying to block that shot got it didn't want to build anything that felt watered down right and to build a single player campaign the way that we would want to build a single player campaign, I would never want to put something out watered down that felt good or okay, right? So I think our focus was on let's make PBP and let's make this game at its core awesome. And I think we really delivered a great experience. It's a ton of fun to play. And then how do we build on it moving forward? So I think, oh, I was trying to pass that.
Starting point is 00:38:59 I think single player could be in the mix. It's definitely something that we've talked about. It's definitely something we'd like to do. When we do it, if we do it, we're going to do it right. There you go. Hey, good answer, Scott. I like that. You said you started out with 18. How big is the studio now? Have you grown? What is the size? And what's it like working with all these talented developers?
Starting point is 00:39:19 Oh, no. We shipped this game with 18 people. Wow. I mean, there are about 30 people all told on the team across everybody, right? QA, our partners. We've got, you know, technology teams that we've worked with on servers and back end. But our direct development team at play-by-play is 18 people right now. You know, we started this with two people.
Starting point is 00:39:38 And then it became three. and then it became five and seven. So this hasn't been, you know, an 18-person team the whole time. It's been, that's why I say when this team's a very passion-driven team, and we built this game from the ground up. We really did. And we take it very seriously. So I think when we think about the path moving forward,
Starting point is 00:39:54 if we want to grow and expand on this game, absolutely. But like I said, we're going to do it in the right way, and we'll take our time to make sure we get it right. That's great, Scott. You're good. You're good. He's got to be good, too. Yeah, we want to do it.
Starting point is 00:40:09 work those alley-ups get that extra point yeah I'll be up who sniper come on that was a sniper that was close no way oh I get up going up go and bead we're not stopping in Bede we're gonna body both of them no two's great steel good job scott court half court Oh, no. Come on. Damn. Look at that. Three, dart.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Great job on that. Scott, I want to talk about camera angles because you guys, of course, when we met just last month, we're talking about three camera angles on the game. What has that been like with that? What's the feedback? Is there a new desired camera angle? You think you nailed it with the three that you got? The one that comes up a lot is the 2K cam.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Of course. You know, it's definitely. It's in the Discord, it's in the chat, we hear it, we see it. It's another thing we're looking at, right? I don't want to commit to it right now, but we recognize it. We want to make the game play that way. But when you move it to that direction, you've got to think about the game in a whole different way, right? Because now you're showing the game at a different angle.
Starting point is 00:41:32 So, you know, how do we deal with geometry and things culling in and out? Not to get too technical on things. It's something we want to do. I think we're going to do it. We hear the feedback from the community. And it's definitely something that we're trying to make it happen. way to be determined, but it's on our radar for sure. Very good question.
Starting point is 00:41:49 That's fantastic, yeah. Is there a camera angle that you play as? Of course, everyone wants to get better and be the best. What camera angle are you playing as, boss? So I actually play the high cam quite a bit because I feel like, I mean, I love the, wait, where'd you go? I'm in the corner over there. You see me?
Starting point is 00:42:07 I'm talking with the fans right now. I'm getting questions from the community. I'll be in. You're signed an autographs. You're off to the side. I play the regular cam a lot because it kind of, you know, it reminds me a lot of the street cam. And by the way, shout out to Adam E. Hill and Gerald Orban, who built our camera system, who also worked on NBA Street with Mike Young, is our creative director.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Wow. These guys have built really cool camera technology. And they actually, you know, Adam himself was one of the main cinematographers on the NBA Street series. So this camera is very similar to the NBA Street games. I play the default cam, but I also feel like, The high cam just gives you kind of this strategic view where you can see the whole game. It takes you out of the action a bit, but it makes me feel like I've got a better bird's eye view. Come on.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I got you, big cat. And you can also switch through them, right? So if you're on like PS5, you can just hit the touchpad. Fade away. Come on, go. Oh. I got you. A little bunny.
Starting point is 00:43:10 A little bunny from Mike. And then the third game is the action cam. and I think that one's like a really slick looking camp. I think it's harder to play like really competitively with that cam, but you can cut some really good footage with it. It feels more like, you know, cinematic, if you will. So I think it's a fun camp to play with what it is. In my view, it's a little bit more difficult to play a competitive game with that game.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Okay. Great defense there, everybody. We held, we held strong on that one. You know I'm there. I'm looking for you. We're up right there. Oh, fuckies. I see he's the king on steals.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Oh, wow. Come on. Come on. Come on. LeBron James. Now, of course, you got Bobby to commentate. What was that like to get him back in the booth, get him behind a game like this? And were there any ideas of, yeah, adding the meme voices like blessed with LeBron James?
Starting point is 00:44:16 Any fun mixes that you would have added into this? Yeah, I mean, man, Bob is, he's unbelievable. I mean, he's become a dear, dear friend throughout the course of this. I met Bob probably about, you. year and a half two years ago. He put everything he had in this game, man. He took it so serious. I think his love and dedication to the street series
Starting point is 00:44:36 and just basketball is the game of basketball. He put everything he had into it. Bob is, like I said, become a really dear friend. But to have him in the game at the level that we have, I think we have over 50 hours of Bob VO. There's over 3,000 VO lines in the game from him. And it's just, it's Bob, man. I can't explain it.
Starting point is 00:44:57 We put out a couple video that he has. like in the booth. We don't write for Bob. We don't say like here's the commentary. What like Bob calls real streetball. So we just play the game in front of Bob. Like literally Mike is our creative director and I sit down with Matthew who you know, he did all of our sound design and our audio and Bob and we just play the game for an hour and he just live broadcast VO. And that's what you hear in the game. It's just Bob going nuts. He's just an unbelievable guy who I think has such a knack for basketball. He loves the world of hoops. He loves this game. And I think he did this thing.
Starting point is 00:45:28 I mean, Bob's just shout out to Bob. He's a legend. You know, here's a great question from the chat. I want to bring in one. Asking about couch co-op. And yeah, for me, whenever I tell stories to the crew, that kind of funny, right, we kind of bring in this couch co-op. I call it couch competitive that me and my friends back in the day with NBA Street,
Starting point is 00:45:46 NFL Street. There was an excitement. There was fun and competitiveness when we gathered around the couch to play couch co-op games like this. Was there ever conversation about making a couch co-op, having you and your friends be able to play this game? There's definitely been many of conversations about it. It's how I played street as well. Like Simon, who's on our team, he's our CTO.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Him and I used to, I can't be able to say this, 23 years ago when we parked at EALA together. We'd sit on the couch together and just beat the hell out of each other playing NBA Street Volume 2, and it was a blast. Sort of recreate an experience like that, and to have something like that in this game eventually, I think it would be pretty amazing. So it's another thing on our radar.
Starting point is 00:46:26 I will say this. LeBron for two. There we go. One. Remember, he's got no handles. Get after them steals. We want all there. Here's my question.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Up to the community on this one. And these aren't apples to apples, so it's not an exact group of, LeBron. Oh. Good eye. Oh, God. If we did couch co-op or we did offline,
Starting point is 00:46:47 which one do you want first? That's a great question. Of course, if you're watching live right now on Twitch and or YouTube, or if you are watching later in the comments, go share. What do you want first? That's a great question. Top comment's going to be both. You know what? I guess it's a really great place to be in when you have a community that is so excited for your game and want so much more from you, right?
Starting point is 00:47:13 Like that is got to be a great place. We're going three for three right now. People are happy and they are now they want more. That's wild. That's great. Yeah. No, it's a great position to be in. I mean, I think we've been overwhelmed with the amount of love and feedback good and bad right i mean like we got here through multiple betas i think we ran like five different betas with the community um and we took that feedback to heart and this game has changed a lot over the last two months two and a half months and run to betas um and it's not something that's going to stop i want us to be known for a team that listens to the community and you know we respond to community feedback so keep it all coming and i think it's great to be in this position where
Starting point is 00:47:51 we've got such an engaged and passionate community a three wendy smacking us down right yeah let's I will get back to asking more questions, but we got to win this game. I was going, I was going two for two. I like the blessing with dead silent mode on because he was locked in. I was locked in. Just scoring. We were just responding to each other and the other team. No.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Pushed him over. He was triple team. First of 15. We're in. Oh, yeah. There's SGA with it. Oh, he picked that out in the sky. I thought that was in.
Starting point is 00:48:27 No. Oh, I thought I was there, Brody. There you go. Man. Yeah, they got me in a lot now. You're good. You're good. We're going off.
Starting point is 00:48:37 We're going off. You're in. We're going off. Give me that. Blessing. Give me that. Give me that. Blessing.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Breakout game right now. Oh, sorry. You're good, Bless. I'm throwing Wembees on the ground. We're moving for you, Bless. Get after it, Big Dog. Give me that. Give me that.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Go, Blest. Go, go, go. Go, go. Go, go. Jack, give me it. Get out of here. That's the big man right there. Come on.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Blessing 4-3. He's on fire right now. I've been just watching Blessing, so I've lost myself on the screen. Sorry, we got him. We're going to feed him while he's hot. Yeah. Oh, no, I pass that back. That's all right.
Starting point is 00:49:32 That's all right. We're up. If he wins it. We'll take one. One more point. We'll take a one, though. Yep. We'll take one.
Starting point is 00:49:47 They're gonna look for threes now, yeah. Man, all right, one done. We'll take one, we'll take one big one here. Let's go, LeBron to the house. Oh, no, it's Michael's there for me. Mike was there. Great job, man. Great job there.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Woo. I think I knew. I think we're turning up right now, boys. You're turning up. I'm feeling it. Are we going into the finals right now? Look at that. We beat triple whemies.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Everyone said you couldn't beat triple whemies. Everyone said you couldn't beat triple. M beat triple Wemble. This is the farthest we've been. We're going to put the questions on hold. We're going to lock in right now. Can we complete our goal right now? Can we get a win right here right now?
Starting point is 00:50:31 We need this. Let's see what we got here. Tenement. New school. Okay. Right. Tuesdays and threes. First to 21.
Starting point is 00:50:44 Who do we got here? We got KD. Ant and Joelle as well. Okay. They know they're in our final. They're just trying to bracket bust us like we got those guys earlier. Love that. Okay, boys, here we go.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Locking in. We got Big Scott on it. Let's get it. Yeah. Let me stay back, play defense. Oh, they got it. I got it. We got it.
Starting point is 00:51:15 You got a LeBron. Brug, get up. Come on. Oh, no. Oh, no. He's hot right now. On the boat. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Scott with some great defense. Go out of that. Get up, big dog. I'm following. This guy's good. Oh, no. No shot. Wow.
Starting point is 00:51:42 He's cooking out there. All right, big cat. Oh, he said, give me that. He grabbed it, too. No, Rachel. Get out of town. That's not you. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:52:03 That's too far. No. It's a different area code. We're in this. We're good. Oh, I banged it to the room. Oh, there we go. Oh, there's on the ground.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Nice. Good job, Scott. That's a beautiful shot. Scott. We needed that. We're good. Just that's good. Oh, nice. I'm not letting that happen.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Yeah. Oh, oh, shit, bless. I'm going to dunk. I'm too slow. Oh. Take him. Oh. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Tied up, tied up. See. Come on. Very to see me. I got KD in the corner. Oh, his shoulder checked me. Get out of here. Oh, nice, nice.
Starting point is 00:53:02 The hot left room in the corner of a man. All right, 10, 9, 10, 9. We're good. What we got, first 21? There it is. Oh, great job. Good follow. There you go.
Starting point is 00:53:18 Oh, yeah, that's D right there. He's tough. Oh, wow, he hurt me. He's in the zone. He's in the zone. We're good. No shot. He's talking a whole other area code.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Come on. Come on, this is your game, Bless. There we go. Good steel, great, too. Fast, bass. Oh, damn it. Oh, don't find him, Mike. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I'm too slow. We're down by two. We're good. We're good. Oh, my. Nice follow up. Scott's got your back. I got Katie.
Starting point is 00:54:01 No. Oh, he hurt me. No shot. No, I'm in his face. He's not missed once. Yeah, that's all right. We get, we're there. Oh, there we go. Nice. Oh, Scott's hot. We feed Scott. He's hot. We feed Scott. He's got. Three wins. Yay. Let's go. God, you're crazy. You're the great. There we go. We got the chip, baby. Come on. That's what I'm talking about right there. That's why we do it. There we go. That was legit teamwork. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Wow. Scott called the game, chat. Come on. He's the baddest everybody. Now restored the feeling right there. No pressure, right? You guys sweating? Wow.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm sweating. There we go. Ray just handed me the trophy over here. We got a trophy over our own. We got a right. You got a love it.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Bless. You brought the trophy. You earned that one, Bless. You played really. Real good, man. We did it. That's the good. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:55:10 I'd like to thank my Lord and Savior. You know, I want to thank my mom, my dad for getting me here. My health coach. My actual coach. My teammates. NBA the run. NBA the run. Come on.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Scott, we only have a little bit of time left with you. So I will remind the audience out there. Great opportunity. Get those final questions in. Scott, let's talk about the progression really quick. Of course, I just leveled up to level five. I've unlocked one of your team's created characters. We've seen plenty of people in the chat.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Scott, let me tell you, this game's only been out for a little bit. I've already seen people at max rank asking for more. So they're super diehards. But Scott, what is the progression looking like? What can players look forward to? And what is the plan for the future of progression? Yeah. So if somebody's max rank right now, I don't know if that person slept.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Cross to you, that's amazing. I think we did have one guy in our Discord and said he played 23 hours in a row from when it finished. So, I mean, keep it going, right? So we've got, rank goes up to level 50, and there's a mastery track after that, so you run back through it,
Starting point is 00:56:19 but it takes more time to grind. Within the rank, you'll unlock cred, which is our in-game currency, you'll unlock badges that you can use to kind of trick out your own nameplate, and then you'll unlock some first streetplace. So I think at level five, we just unlock Shenton.
Starting point is 00:56:33 I think it's roughly every five, or so levels you unlock a new street legend and then as you get into the mastery tracks you get some of these crazy banners and badges that really like let you style on people that set your your whole like nameplate and look up differently than anyone else in the game um that I think over the long term you know who knows where we take it from a rank progression standpoint I figured this was going to take a month for people to get their max rank but if they're there in three days I mean it hasn't even been it's been two days that's unbelievable I literally don't think that person slept So we got some work to do, I guess is my answer. Let's jump in. Jay writes in and says, hey, I just arrived here. So sorry if it's already been asked. But there's chance of this coming to the Switch 2 down the line.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Does this have cross-platform play? And, of course, a big shout out to Scott and the team for only charging $30 for this. Goats. Other platforms like Switch 2, Crossplay. Of course, Scott, if you can answer that. And, yeah, the $30 price tag, how did you guys land on that in such an economy that we see from free to play? to $70 titles and more. How did you land on 30?
Starting point is 00:57:39 Yeah, so I think first up, the cross-play question, it's fully cross-play, cross-platform enabled, so we're on Xbox, we're on PS5, PC through Steam, everything's fully cross-play enabled, so that's all there, stood up and works fantastically today. Let's go ahead and ready up so we can hop in the play. Switch to in future platforms. It's definitely on our radar.
Starting point is 00:57:58 I think it's something we're looking at internally. I think my own personal take, I think like I play my switch more in an offline kind of capacity. So maybe those things, you know, maybe those things could potentially come around the same time. So I think, you know, Switch 2 is definitely a platform that we would love to be on. And then the last question was, sorry, it's a scary. $30 price tag. $30 price tag.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Thank you. I think we're playing somebody on our team right now. Oh, okay. Hold on up. Let me see. I think that we are playing our lead game plans in your business. Ben Barrett. Right there. Rip City. SGA. We are playing. Okay. Well, let's put it on. Let's know the bosses here. Well, let's see. Ben Barrett, if that's you wave with SGA. We'll see after he shoots the ball.
Starting point is 00:58:46 Oh, I pushed him over. We're literally playing on the game change. Something with that rock. All right. Um, the $30 price point, right? So I think our whole take was we want to build something that has a lot of value for the cost that it is, right? And I think we didn't want to go down the route of free to play. Because when we, you go down the Rastiff free to play. You have to have micro transactions and a bunch of different kind of economies in there that I think lead to a different game
Starting point is 00:59:12 of what we wanted to be great. We wanted to make a game that was a blast to play and it was super fun and easy to get into and cross-platform and all the things we just talked about. And we felt like the best way to get there was to put a really fair offering on the price point and not have this be something that's, you know, $40, $50, $60.
Starting point is 00:59:29 So I think we landed on this place where we wanted the reaction to be, damn, I get all this, for 30 bucks and I generally feel like we delivered on that. And then I think, you know, we didn't want to go down that free to play route. Like I said, I think it just, it hinders your game design in my opinion. It puts you down a path where you have to have MTX in the game. You have to have all these different things there.
Starting point is 00:59:49 We didn't want to have. So that's kind of how we landed on it. Is that you plus putting up those threes like that, that's me? That's stuff. Oh, I'm pretty sure our game play engineers. He's putting up shots like he is. That's for sure. Yeah. But you know what? Bless is playing too. He's playing like him. Yeah, so I'm pretty sure it's good. Yeah, Blass. Now you take the lead for us, Blitz. Oh, that was going to go. Nice. Nice, Scott. Good bucket right there. Uh-oh. He's gone cold.
Starting point is 01:00:38 We go, boys. Uh-oh. It is hard to play and answer questions and talk at the same time. You're doing great, Scott. Yeah, you're crushing it. He's hard. You got to be locked in, man. AJ Two Fly says tell Scott the instrumental is fire. Of course, we're hearing all of the music in the background.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Who did you land with? Who can we point to to say, hey, congratulations on a killer soundtrack for the background. Shout out to Matthew Oakon, who's our entire audio team, one person. Wow. Matthew is getting every single sound you hear in the game, whether it's a soundtrack, he composed all of our music, any of the button and menu UI stuff, any of the bleeps and blops, if you will,
Starting point is 01:01:23 the soundtrack itself, all of the Bob audio. I mean, Matthew is unbelievable. He did this all on his own. It's one person. Shout out to AJ Two Fly. He's been rocking with us for a long, long time. I saw him in some games right around launched, and he handed it to me.
Starting point is 01:01:37 He's legit. Thank you, Jeff, that. Wow, Big Scott. calling out the community, noticing some names. That's fantastic, man. That's great. You got such diehard audience. It's my, it's puncho, man.
Starting point is 01:01:49 Zonexto. Like, these guys have been in the game just wrecking people. They're really good. They've been playing with us since the beginning of the betas. And, yeah, thank you guys for rock. Of course, Big Z wants to know about ranks, of course. We have this tournament that feels like it's, yeah, we're battling for chips.
Starting point is 01:02:05 But was there a discussion of ranked versus casual modes in this, Scott? I think ranks definitely like a natural place for us to go. Damn, that guy's piece me up, Tyler Cash. Um, and the rookie LeBron. Yeah, it's great to say that. I think ranks definitely a natural place to go with BVP. It just feels like it fits our game. It comes back to like what we were talking about earlier, right?
Starting point is 01:02:27 Which is, you know, we give feedback for rank, we get feedback for Coucho-O, we get feedback for offline mode, story mode. There's no stores of requests and we want to deliver on all of it. But like I said earlier, we're going to do it the right way. So I think for us as a team, it's figuring out which one of those modes come in what order, right? And what are the things that are most desired by our community, which is why I always say, hopping our Discord, hop on our Instagram, hop on our socials. We're reading, we're listening, we're watching all the videos.
Starting point is 01:02:54 And I think we're going to try to find things to pop up the most and build those things. You see my special dunk right there? Yeah, that was cool. Heck, yeah. Got that from the store from right there. Very easy to see because Calvin Ham is our visual effect. X-Arists just put those visual effects on there, and we patched the game this morning at 11 a.m. PST.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Just two hours ago, we patched the game with a bunch of new updates in it. And that's one of them, those advanced dunts and tricks have new visual effects on it. That's awesome. Yeah, it definitely stands out and looks great, it's right. Shout to Suburbanite Slob says, when you have your first tournament, will you let Snowmike Mike shout cast that you're the best slob. Thank you for that.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Yeah, what's it like in the studio? Have you guys had your own little studio tournaments and getting out to the public, getting in the parking lot outside an NBA stadium and putting them up on some screens, that could be fun. That would be a blast. I mean, we've all been playing this game for so long as a team.
Starting point is 01:03:50 And I think, you know, a lot of us used to work at EA and Bryant and different big companies, and I think having worked on a lot of PVP games, you know you've got something special when the team just wants to play the game. Yeah. And we've been playing tennis and this game's a team for like three-plus years and nobody ever wants to put it down.
Starting point is 01:04:08 constantly. Keep the play test going. Keep the run going. Let's keep playing. That feeling never died out amongst the teams. I think to have that feeling all the way up till today, the team's in, like you just saw our lead game plans. And it was legit matchmaking against us. We're all playing. We're in the game. We're going to keep it going for sure. We still play internally as a team every week. We played yesterday on some new updates that we're cooking. So yeah, the team's hype. Are you guys remote? Are you under one roof? Where is everybody located?
Starting point is 01:04:41 We're remote. We've got a good contingent of folks who used to work at EA Sports, which is mostly located down in Florida, like in the Orlando area. We've got some folks in the Orlando area, and then we've got some folks in the Bay Area. But we're remote. We're kind of a handful in California, a handful of Florida, and then some people in between.
Starting point is 01:05:00 How has the remote work been going for you in the team, since, of course, you have such a background in games, you and your team working for different companies and groups, how has that been going remote? I think, you know, we founded the company in the middle of COVID when you had no option. You know, and people had started at that point, like all the people who worked at these bigger companies were starting to move closer to home to be back with their family. So it was just kind of like, I think, built into our DNA from day one. And because we started so small, like I mentioned earlier, we had two or three people in the
Starting point is 01:05:31 beginning. I mean, we all knew each other and worked together. So it's been a kind of a culture of trust from the very beginning. And I think that's been built into our DNA to where we are now. So even though we're 18, I think, you know, probably 75% of us have all worked together in some capacity before. But it's a really high volume of trust. And everybody on this team, I think, just put everything they had. So, you know, it's not one of these things where it's like, we have to be in the office and not, Mike, I want to see you at the office. Like everyone, we know everyone's working. And so I think we respect everyone's time and we figured out how to make it work remotely. That's awesome. And I think we feel something awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Guys, I'm not going to fib to you. I thought we were going to, we won that. I was like, oh, we'll get a couple of quick questions in. We'll end this. We're on a run. We're back in the semifinals again. We might go back to back. Here's the thing. I do have to be on another piece of continent at three. Okay. But is there somebody out there we can get to take my spot, is my question. Hey, Greg Miller out. Well, Greg is on the same content that I am. in here for fire. You make Scott's Day. Are you allowed to be on camera, Ray? Yeah, Ray can be on camera.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Ray, come play for me. Okay, Ray's going to take my spot because I got to go. Ray, we need you to be a shooter, Ray. Come on. Thank you, thank you. There we go. Who's he playing at? Oh, Curry. That's perfect. Ray is Curry. He's a warriors guy.
Starting point is 01:06:56 I'm dunking on people. All right, Ray, introduce your to the squad here since everybody's watching you have been on the social channels talking with everybody in the Twitch and YouTube chat who are you yes I help run marketing and comms and social and a community a lot of excited players and community out there and making sure that we are hearing everything that they are saying making sure that we can take that back to the team trying to figure out all these improvements that we all obviously want to make that's fantastic
Starting point is 01:07:28 right all right well hard to play and talk isn't it Oh, it is. It is. Mike's a pro. This is hard to talk and play, man. Ray, you are playing as your favorite dub right here. Yeah, you have to get it going. All right, where we got?
Starting point is 01:07:43 Oh, I have a lot from me because it's three points for threes right here. Yeah, this is it. We need to be ready. I'm saying, like, I got to make sure to stay on him. I got scurry, of course. There we go. We got a big rebound there. We're going to come back now.
Starting point is 01:07:56 There we go. Splash, a little water. Oh, man, going out. Starting point is 01:08:59 No way. Great D though, too. Take it. Oh, drop it. Oh, dunk down the fence. But that's only one point. Yeah, only one point. We're fine.
Starting point is 01:09:13 Oh, Ray's wide open. Ray, stop it. Splash. I'm in the corner. Oh, great steel. God. Get that, Ray. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:09:21 Oh, no. No. Arbitude. I said, done that. It's a matter. Nice. Ray. Oh, it's still got me.
Starting point is 01:09:30 Oh, this guy went ASK. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, he's in the zone. Oh, he's, he's sliding. There we go. All right. All right, we got one guy not playing without a man.
Starting point is 01:09:52 Yeah, good. There we go. Power player. He's going to get kicked out of. He goes out of tape or two. Got it. I'm a deep threat. I got you.
Starting point is 01:10:04 Oh, yeah, he's still AFK. Oh, Scott. I couldn't shoot. Oh, it's wrong. Yeah. It's going to be inside. Oh, no. Shoot right.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Oh, no. Hell out nowhere. Grab it. You get the ball. Oh my Three seconds pass Oh no Go up Brett
