Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode is sponsored by Once Upon a Galaxy. It's a new card game that I'm having a delightful time with. This episode is sponsored by Ark Raiders, where you and your squad can explore future Earth and brave killer robots to secure the best loot on the planet. Arc Raiders is available now for PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X-slash-S and PC. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the kind of funny games.
Starting point is 00:00:38 cast for Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. I'm one of your host, Greg Miller, alongside Forbes 30 under 30, a.k.a. New York Game Awards nominated, a.k.a. What was it? You had a new poppy you put out there somewhere. New Poppy. Something you did the other day on one of your social media is. We'll come back to it, I guess. Leftover, Poppy. Blessing. Addio, yay. June. Good day, Greg. Good day to you. How are you?
Starting point is 00:01:01 I'm doing good. I'm looking over my Steam replay, saying the games I played this year. The hotness out there. It just dropped. Apparently, I was bored. March. Oh, no, I was playing a lot of blueprints in Expedition 33. Never mind. Never mind. I also booted up Wonderstop. Oh, but how many hours you put in, how many three minutes did you put in the Wonderstop? Wonderstop was about 2% of my playtime. This is care. Appreciate that. Of course, he's the master of hype snow bike Mike.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Hi, Greg. It's great to see you. Yeah, I'm looking over blessing Eddie O. Jr.'s steam. Eldering Night Rain. We're just taking a look at like what he played throughout the month. 46% of playtime in the month of May was Eldon Ring Night Rain. Yeah. Not enough night with us. But I don't start. Don't start. He leaves us all the time.
Starting point is 00:01:44 I got to get back to altars. I played 9% of my game time and June was altars. Good game, dude. 35% of my playtime this year was Octopath Traveler Zero. And I love that number. His man at Carthroft, Texas Street, Latino heat, looking heads and ripping him shreds. Globetrotting, headshot, and three-point shooting, rooting,
Starting point is 00:01:58 tootin. Nitro rifle from Twitch. Dot TV, Andy Cortez. Tonight's tonight. Spurs, winning it all tonight. I want you to know. The mid-season championship against a Knicks. It's bitterly cold in San Francisco right now. I stepped out two nights ago, three nights ago, whatever it was,
Starting point is 00:02:14 to let Cole go to the potty out there. And I'm looking at my phone with a flashlight on. And your Instagram story or thread or whatever it was, maybe a BS, that's a blue sky, Tim, of whoever it was playing PSP. And you're like, me in bed playing my video games after a Spurs win or a Cowboys win or whatever. I was like, that warmed my heart. I was like, I know that feeling.
Starting point is 00:02:33 We're just being so cozy and happy after something. Absolutely. That's the go-to-dunkin. Come on. You got to recognize Tin-Dunkin. I'm just saying I didn't commit that to memory. They used to play Starcraft on the airplane. I remember that?
Starting point is 00:02:43 Yeah. Remember in August when we got really into Rainbow Six Sege? We really played it. We played a lot of Rainbow Six Seedge in August. We put down a whole week of different games and we said we're going to try these games out. I had a lot of fun with it. We were nasty. I miss it.
Starting point is 00:02:56 We were getting sick at Rainbow Six Seed and then we stopped. Well, gentlemen, I hate to report that this podcast is not about looking backwards. This is about looking forward at the games coming out in January, 2020. Because this is the Kind of Funny Games cast. Each and every weekday, we run you through the biggest topics in video games, whether they be reviews, previews, or just things we need to talk about. We do it live on YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny Games, Twitch.tv. TV slash Kind of Funny Games and podcast services around the globe.
Starting point is 00:03:26 If you love that, we'd love you to pick up a Kind of Funny membership. Patreon.com slash Kind of Funny, YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny Games. Apple or Spotify, you can toss us a few bucks, get each and every episode of all of our programming ad-free. Get your daily dose of me, Greg Miller, in a series we call Greg Way, and of course, get good karma for supporting an 11-person small business. Of course, if you're supporting on Patreon, you get bonus perks like today's December happy hour, where you get to call in and talk to us live for basically a multi-person, kind of funny podcast where you're part of it. It's great. We do it each and every month, patreon.com.com slash kind of funny. But I digress. No bucks toss away, no big deal.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Like, subscribe, share, of course, ring the bell. If you are watching live, superchat on YouTube.com slash kind of funny games. You can give us your questions, comments, concerns, what games you're excited for January so I can include your stuff, what games we're missing when we start talking about them. You can also say stuff that is objectively wrong and stupid. Like YoRocas, who says,
Starting point is 00:04:20 Happy Holidays, Kayf. That's great. And then Rock Chalk, Gregie. Rock Chalk, Jayhawks. You're the one who gave me the money to say it, so you're really stupid. So I don't know what I mean? I have to be part of that.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I don't want to deal with it. Of course, like I said, we're all about live talk shows. You already got Kind of Funny Games daily with me and Bruce Strayley. It's already making headlines throughout the video game industries as he ranted and raved about AI as he talked about the origins of his game. Coven of the Chicken Foot. I don't know what's wrong with me. Coven.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I don't know what's wrong with me. I saw a little movie as a child called Ghostbusters 2. Andy, of course, you remember a classic scene in Ghostbusters. The intro to it starts. We're in Ray's occult bookshop. Somebody leaves. and he goes, my best to the coven. And it was the first time I had ever heard Coven.
Starting point is 00:05:08 So I was like, oh, and I have witches. I understood. And then for some reason, since the debut of Coven of the Chicken Foot at Game Wars, I'm like, COVID, I'm like, why am I saying? You like that? Why am I? I guess COVID. Yeah, COVID is the COVID.
Starting point is 00:05:21 COVID rewrote my DNA. COVID rewrote my pronunciation. Oh my God. Anyway, this is a great games daily. You should go check it out. Really great games daily. After this, it's a sponsored once upon a galaxy stream. And after that, like I said, it's our December happy hour on Patreon.
Starting point is 00:05:35 dot com slash kind of funny. If you're a member, like I said, today's Gregway is going to be a banger. I had to drive really fast and erratically to get here on time because of a plumber, so I didn't record a Gregway in the car. I had to be focused, need for speed mode, men and black, driving up on the top of the tunnel. You know what he did that? That was awesome. Elvis didn't die. He just went back. He went home. Thank you to our Patreon producers. You watch men in black. Yeah, dude. I watched so much man black. Have we done men and black in review, Andy? No. That'd be what I'd be down to do. I mean, there's just for the one good one. Like, Okay, fuck you.
Starting point is 00:06:05 This one good one. What was the second one? What was the second good one? The first two. Benad Black two? Yeah. I'm just saying this one good movie. How about this?
Starting point is 00:06:16 They're enjoyable. I don't remember two or three much. Laura Flynn Boyle and Johnny Knoxville. Come on. Oh, my God. Wait, which one was two the ones where, oh, the galaxies on Orion's belt? Yeah, that's one. That was one.
Starting point is 00:06:30 That was one. Yeah, one rocked. I loved one. Yeah, that was a great one. I thank you to our Patreon Producers Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the song twining. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be topic
Starting point is 00:06:41 of the show. Tots, Tats, Tats, Tats, Tats. This is crazy because I know we've talked about how much we moved away from like just console gaming and PC becoming more and more everything. It's crazy to look at my PlayStation Rapped and see like, oh, I've only put in this many hours. And it's not like I put in two hours, right? But it's like less
Starting point is 00:06:57 than previous years. And to look at my steam and it is, I played 31 more games this year on Steam than I did last year. I played so much more games on Steam than I did on PlayStation this year. It's crazy. Times are changing. I got 22 games more than last year, which I would expect it had been a lot more. But I guess I turned stuff on on Steam.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Don't you use Xbox a lot? Yeah, that's true too. My game pass and all that jazz. But we're not talking about that. That should be a topic. Maybe we can do it when we first get back. But there's so much going on. Maybe we should all do Greg Ways.
Starting point is 00:07:26 I don't know what we're going to do. We got content. Today, though, we're talking about every game coming out in January 2026. our monthly rundown of what's upcoming. And first off, let's give a round of applause to blessing Adio Ye Jr. Of course, last time we did this, he called out Releases.com
Starting point is 00:07:41 that we should be going there in addition to Game Informer. We're not talking shit about Game Informer. We love Game Informer. Except, of course, that my magazines are always late for some reason now. I don't know what's all I'm on. But I went yesterday to build this,
Starting point is 00:07:54 did the Game Informer list, and I was like, man, slowish month for games. And I was like, you know what? I'll just look in on releases. And there was like so many more. And I was so mad at you for like for like half of like the hour I was working out. I was so mad.
Starting point is 00:08:05 I'm like wide blessing telling me on this fucking side. And I was like by the end of it, I was like, this is going to make for a much better show. Yeah. Be being wrong about a lot of stuff. Releases.com. The difference is that game will get you every game, but it will get you like every big game. It doesn't get you the nitty gritty details that releases.com will. DLCs.
Starting point is 00:08:21 But also game informer has not updated recently for 20, for January, 26. So there was a lot of stuff in here. So it's a jam-packed month. We need dive right in. We will turn our eyes to. January 5th when Doon Crawl comes out. Doon Crawl is an open world action adventure game where you take to the Sandy Cs atop a gigantic crustacean festooned with black powder cannons, play a solo crab keeper,
Starting point is 00:08:44 or with a crew of up to three other friends in local and online co-op. I did go through this list and try to editorialize a bit. We can't do every game and give them a full description in trailer, right? So I kind of call that stuff that I look at and I go, I can see Mike playing this. This seems like the shit Mike might get into horror blessing, obviously. But you're saying, ooh and wow. Well, just for the art style looks really cool. It's a top-down, isometric, colorful, cartoon-like art style that is really cute to look at.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Is it doing anything for anybody in terms of something they'd want to try and play? I mean, I would like to maybe try this out. I don't know how much I'd get into it. But I think the art style is super cute. Yeah, there's something about, you know, not all sort of cell-shaded with outlined art styles are created equal. and this one looks really darn good though I like the way it looks well that's dune crawl January 5th
Starting point is 00:09:35 if we did a kind of funny stream on this I would I would play it for sure I don't know if I'll just play this on my free time by myself just because like so many videos it kind of is a fat princess vibe to it glancing at it I'd be interested to see you yeah Mike put it on the schedule put it on the schedule Mike oh hey no
Starting point is 00:09:49 World of Magic Rise of Magic comes to PC January 5th no trailer for this one but the description is a thrilling action RPG with rich story and open world set in a fantasy world full of monsters and bustling cities we gotta fix that title I jumped in and the title matches the trailer. We'll say that. It's just in a positive thing.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Okay. Oh, no. We go to Star Rupcher coming January 6th, the PC Early Access. Oh, you're saying there was a trailer, but I'm not showing it. Star Rupcher is a first-person open-world base building game with advanced combat and tons of exploration. Play alone or in a group on this subline and ever-changing planet. Extract and manage resources, create your complex industrial system, and fight off hordes of alien monsters. there's a lot of Sims and a lot of like building
Starting point is 00:10:31 and a lot of shit that I could see Mike never touching or spending obscene amounts of hours playing. Yeah, it's a weird one for me, Greg, because it's got to be the certain game, right? Me and Washi played Astroir once, and that's like a beloved game that got a lot of critical acclaim, and I just did not vibe with it at all.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And then we play a game like Subnotica where it's like, oh, I will build in this for hundreds of hours and this is my shit. So it's got to be like, I don't know, the right moment, the right game, the right look. This one's kind of got the subnotica look to it, so I kind of dig that. I wonder what will be my next survival crafting game because I am looking for one for 2026. Okay. Well, this looks like you're satisfactory.
Starting point is 00:11:13 This one's got some, yeah, factory building here, which I've never gotten into. Oh, really? I thought you were into satisfactory. No, no, I never really tried. Yeah, that's the one where I'm like, I wonder if I'd be good at that. I like efficiency. I like optimizing. I like getting the best out of everything that I do
Starting point is 00:11:30 So like maybe I would like run in a factory This has also got some cool vibes to it There's something about once we get to To factory lines where I just get really overwhelmed Like it scares me and I don't That's like one extra level Further than what I want to do in one of these games And I love making things in these games
Starting point is 00:11:49 I see like yeah the satisfactories or something like this And I see all the all the What do they call it? The lines or whatever Right and I'm like oh that looks that looks fun, that looks enticing, that looks satisfying for my brain. I'd rather just do that with something in my real life as opposed to playing it in a video game. Like if I could take that and apply it to my work, I'd rather figure out how to optimize things that I do at work as opposed to like optimizing things in a video game. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Not in like that sounds demeaning, but like more so in a just how what I look for out of fun. I'd love to know if Nick would vibe with this. He really got into the base building in Dune and really started thinking about his base in a different way. optimizing that and the workflow of it. So I wonder if we, like, if we were to play this together, if Nick would start to vibe into the idea of, like, these production lines and rebuilding that kind of system, I think he might like that.
Starting point is 00:12:38 I think there's something neat about the mixture of being able to build a bunch of stuff with your friends while also having, like, these hordes of aliens. Sure. First person. Yeah. That's a really cool mixture. There's always not enough of one of those elements in a lot of these games that we play. When I talk about how much I loved building in Dune and that's what the game just kind of became for me.
Starting point is 00:13:03 And then when it became any, when I had to do any combat, I just wasn't really looking forward to it because it was lacking. Or when we talk about other games where it's like, oh, the building here is lacking. I really wish they had more of what we liked about Icarus and things like that. this looks like it could it could maybe hit the best balance between those two. We will keep our eyes peeled then for Star Rupter but now I turn my eyes to YouTube.com
Starting point is 00:13:26 such Kind of Funny Game Super chats where you can be part of the show. The co-op bros are watching and they say we previewed a dune crawl and it's a blast. We're a co-op focus channel. I immediately subscribed with the Kind of Funny channel. The production value co-op pros
Starting point is 00:13:41 on your shit here is awesome. What a great thing. Kevin, it's going to come up but at the 28 second mark if you can pause, like obviously they're talking about all the other stuff they played. But then they have this amazing. This looks like this is on par with IGN. Pause it right there. Preview, dunecrawl, previewed by the amount of time played the platform on played with.
Starting point is 00:13:58 That's fucking rad. But co-op bros, I'm following now. Congratulations. I will be looking at that one. Such a fun niche. Like co-op being your thing. Kind of funny folks who are watching and listening later. The co-op pros are at 98.4,000 subscribers.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I know way more than 2,000 of you will watch this and listen to this. So go find the co-op bros on YouTube. Toss them a follow. I like that. I like the idea of like split fiction being their GTA6. Like the next day's like you. We're like, all right, guys. We got to spare down the hatches.
Starting point is 00:14:30 From there, we got a hit list of games that are coming out that I didn't think necessarily anybody would vibe with. Rivals of Ether 2, Lorena. I assume Lorena is just the character because rivals of Ether 2 has been out. I'm still learning releases.com. So yeah, I understand it's some kind of update I was going to get that. That's January 6th. Fairy Tale Dungeons comes to Switch, January 7th.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Cozy Caravan comes to PC, Switch, Apple Arcade, January 8th. I Am Future, Cozy Apocalypse, Survival, comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Switch January 8th. GoCart Island comes to switch January 9th. Pathological 3 comes to PC, January 9th. And then our next stop on this train, Code Violet comes to PlayStation 5 on January 10th. We have a trailer for you.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Dive into Code Violet, in exhilarating third-person action-horror game from Team Kill, media. Anybody remember Code Violet? No. This is one of those ones that kind of blinked into existence where PlayStation was making a big deal about it all of a sudden.
Starting point is 00:15:24 We're like, oh, okay. Was that a state of play? Do you remember where they... I forget if it was that or if it was a blog post or whatever where they popped up with it. But just another one from PlayStation that they're behind it. I feel like I usually do a good job of keeping up with like the PlayStation stuff, but I don't recall this one. I forget where we started talking about this.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Chat, let me know. It looks like a third person. I didn't like that run cycle. No, that's one of the reasons it's here. Zeeke-Speak points out, it's rough. No, no, he's not pointing out. He's calling it out. Guys, it's rough.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah, I remember this one getting blinked into existence, getting talked about into existence. I don't remember, but I wanted to call out of a game that's like clearly going for something, but like out-shooting, out-kicking their coverage. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. An exhilaring third-person action shooter. 25th century, a cataclysm has left Earth uninhabitable,
Starting point is 00:16:12 driving humanity survivors to trappist one, Facing extinction due to sterility The Aeon colony harnesses Cutting Edge Time Travel Technology I do remember this Oh wait, dinosaur Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I do remember this, yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I remember especially thinking just how How rough a lot of the animations looked, you know? Sure, sure, sure, sure Sure, sure. He's heart stopping survival gameplay, Strategic Inventory Management, explosive action horror comedy,
Starting point is 00:16:38 that sounds like a Resident Evil. But again, rough. So I'm to keep your eyes peel, maybe to be one of those fun little gems, you know what I mean? A, game we get into that, you know, isn't the best thing the world that doesn't need to be. And speaking of, over in the live chain, it's gone.
Starting point is 00:16:53 But someone called out and said, it's a shame they're not watching the pathological three trailer. We make the content for you. Let's watch the pathological three. Pathological three. Oh my God. Sorry. Pathologic three. In this psychological horror game, you are a doctor with only 12 days to save a town from a serious plague.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Make ruthless decisions and diagnose with precision. Shape the town's future and rewrite the past. Hold yourself together while it all falls apart. This is coming out January 9th. An interesting idea for a game here being a doctor going through. What I'm looking more forward to is the H-bomber guy video that he'll probably make on this because he, a fantastic video essayist on essayist, is that a right? Yeah, no, that's good.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Yeah. On YouTube. But the videos that he made on the prior to Pathologic games were fantastic. And it's just, there's such bizarre, weird games that feel. like they almost like they exist despite like not doing the most
Starting point is 00:17:52 gangbusters of sales or whatever and I'm certainly fascinated to see what a lot of people's thoughts are on this because I know nothing about the other games other than what I saw in those video essays Mike are you going to go be a doctor? No this one when you read that up sounded like a blessing game to me
Starting point is 00:18:08 he does like a solving a good mystery love doctors being posed or having a lot of choices in front of him and making the hardness I think this is a blessing one. Maybe I'll check it out. We'll see. Well, let's talk about a Greg one then. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Coming to Android on January 10th is Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen. Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen is a brand new game inviting players to unlock Bluey's drawings brought to real life. This is already on iOS. I have it on my phone. I just have not made the time to do it. Obviously, I love Bluey. Ben loves Bluey.
Starting point is 00:18:39 The Bluey video game that came to console is not so long ago that I reviewed and platinum was not a great one. This one seems to have the stuff and mainly because Half Brick is behind it. If you remember Half Brick, they were old, old, old IG and Greg Miller stories of Phil coming to town and us going drinking and then making the endless runner
Starting point is 00:19:01 where you shot the zombies that then became its own thing. And then of course they went and made a little game called Fruit Ninja and kind of changed their lives. And it all like exploded and did them whole stuff. Patrick Cleppick, of course, one of my favorite substacks had one come through crossplay yesterday. what it's like to make a bluey video game.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Bluey is the biggest thing in the world for most children. Half brick was tasked with turning the beloved television show into a video game. No pressure, right? This is great interview he has with Half Brick about what they're doing, why they put it into the bluey drawn world. It looks great. Jetpack Joyride.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Thank you so much. A lot of great stuff. Again, I haven't played it. It does look great, though, because it looks like a real video game. I think, if I'm remembering correctly, they've talked about bringing it to consoles, eventually, PC eventually.
Starting point is 00:19:45 But something to keep your eye on if you are a bluey fan like me. That looks cute as hell. Looks really cool. Speaking of cute as hell, Greg Way, January 12 sees Big Hopps. Come to switch PC and PlayStation 5. Tongue, swing, free climb, and build your own path forward in a new kind of 3D platformer. Plant veggie bounce pads, tight ropes, hook shots, and much more. Find a way home through huge desert, ocean, and mountain worlds, and collect bugs, upgrade your backpack, and meet animal friends along the way.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Big Hops, another one we've seen before. Everybody's like, oh, here it is. Yeah. A minute. Very big 3D Mario. Plus, like, some 3D Zelda vibes to it. I play this one as part of Steam Next Fest. And if you're somebody who looks at it, loves the colorful art style,
Starting point is 00:20:30 loves the games I just mentioned. I think it's definitely worth checking out. Like, you can even see it as, is his name hops? I forget what this frog's name is. But as he's climbing, you can even see the stamina meter go down, kind of like a Zelda, like a modern 3D Zelda. But so much of the energy and, like,
Starting point is 00:20:42 kind of the vibe of it gives Mario 64. for Banger Cazui, like that sort of energy. Is it along the line storywise of little Gator game, which is a very short game that everybody is like, oh, you know, this is kind of a tearjerker, and it's going to make you, you know, it's going to make you feel some stuff, or is it just, I'm a little frog guy and I'm doing, you know.
Starting point is 00:21:06 I'm pretty sure it's more I'm a little frog guy. Yeah, just from the beginning part that I played, who knows, maybe halfway through, you learned that his cousin died or something. Well, as far as I understand, is more Leighback. Kevin's laugh, killing me on God, Mike.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Amazing. Is this a frog type game? Oh, shit. Oh, shit. Fucking, uh, what is team gummy bears or whatever. Yeah, the gummy bears over at Sony.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Yeah. The frog type game. Uh, Mike, this one is ripped from the headlines for you. On January 14th, Street Dog BMX comes out. Yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:38 Get ready for massive tricks, high scores, and gnarly slams in street dog BMX. I'll be honest with you. I expected a dog on a bike. Audio listeners is BMX bikes people. Very colorful, very skate-like. Carve your way through
Starting point is 00:21:55 six huge maps featuring hidden spots, handcrafted challenges, and flowing lines. Fantastic. Looks like I'm in on that one. Yeah, that might be a wish list for me as well. If I can say something insane, I like when you ride bicycles and video games. In jeep. Boy.
Starting point is 00:22:12 GTA San Andreas or in bully, right? Like, I don't know why I always love to opt for a bike. Now, not in long distance drives in GTA. Of course, if I'm going from Los Santos to San Fierro, I'll get in the car. Well, if I'm just in the neighborhood, I mean, Wheelworld being another one, even though I fell off a wheel world. My world felt good on the bike. It was the progression and what are we doing in Yetty, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Something about a bike in a video game. Street Dog BMX. Coming up, January 14. I'm excited about that one. We got a, uh, it's like a play on. the high hyalian intelligent YouTube I think, I don't know. Anyway, Super Chaston says
Starting point is 00:22:48 I played the intelligent. They didn't spell it that way though. But it's a play. How'd they spell it? I played Big Hop's demo in the movement is very good. So something to look out for for Big Hops as well. January 15th, Animal Crossing,
Starting point is 00:23:03 New Horizons, switch to arrives. Of course, you know, Joey and myself are up in arms ready for this. The hotel opens up on the island, hopefully better load. times, et cetera, et cetera. Stoked for more Animal Crossing. I, for me, the big concern
Starting point is 00:23:20 slash question is, will it grab me and bring me back? I haven't actually put in time on my island in a long, long, long, long time. So my hope is, because I'm very ready and interested to go back that I'll boot this up, have better loads, have a lot of stuff, have the new hotel
Starting point is 00:23:36 to put out, and then maybe redo my island. Now let me ask you this. Please give me some real questions. Is this something that you want to to grab you and take all of your time away? Or are you at the point where you're like, I really need to be playing other stuff for Godi?
Starting point is 00:23:52 Well, no. So great question, Andy. Thank you very much. This is why you are the number one games journalist. Thank you. Yes and no. It's January 15th, I feel is a great placement. Because as I keep narrating on Gregway about my thing here, I'm going to beat Metroid. I'm going to go beat Donkey Kong. Then I'm going to start up the altars, right? Then I'm like, I might want to do another try at Baldersgate 3 as I've been talking about.
Starting point is 00:24:13 So you have all of a sudden I have this open area where I could go play something new old, where I'm not, I don't think January 15th, I'm going to be inundated with five different reviews. So I'm like, okay, cool, we can go in and do all this different stuff. Cabob's, Cabob says to correct, Greg, many of these features are 3.0 update. Switch 2 is getting Mike, mouse, and 12 player multiplayer. You are correct, Kabob's. Of course, though, this is what's bringing me back and why I'm excited for the Switch 2 version. But you are correct. 3.0 is this day as well if you have normal Animal Crossing. But I don't know. I'm hopeful that, yeah, I'm going to get in there and have a good week, maybe more with it. My thought is I'm going to get in there, though, and be like, I don't like the wrestling ring here, but I don't want to move it either and go through all the trouble of that. But maybe I don't. I'm not going to be crazy like Joey and fucking rebuild my island. That's an insane thing to do.
Starting point is 00:24:58 She's an insane person. I think a lot of the times whenever I do get back into a game of this style is I see one thing I want to change. And then I go through the checklist of all the things that would be required to, to make everything else change according to that. And I go, no, thanks. And that's like a, I got, I'm not going to do this. I'm not going to do this. Yeah, get out of there.
Starting point is 00:25:21 You can't do that. You don't like the altars, by the way. I know. That seems like such a Greg game. It is a Greg game. It is a Greg game. It's one of those. I had a mental breakdown when I was doing the Greg way
Starting point is 00:25:31 about what I wanted to play over a holiday break because it seemed like I wasn't going to be able to fit it in. And I know I need to because I know it's so close to being a Greg game. Did you know that Metrood Prime was going to be a great game? I didn't fucking know that. How? How far are you? Not that many.
Starting point is 00:25:45 I'm like probably seven hours in. I mean, I guess how big that game is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think I got two keys left or whatever for that part or whatever. I got my second key last.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Oh, man, this game's fucking good. Well, it's like, that thing is like, I've been fighting the urge because it doesn't make any sense,
Starting point is 00:25:58 but I just gave in last night where I'm playing the game and I'm having such a great time. I just immediately went out to the menu, went in, red downloaded, re-downloaded, redownored, I'm in,
Starting point is 00:26:08 it turns on Metroid might be, Metro, maybe Metroid, you know, Holy. He's a great game all. Also, big news, big news. For anybody who's into, like, remote play on non-P PlayStation portal devices,
Starting point is 00:26:23 the newer version of the app that you could put on your Steam deck. Chiaki makes it that it's not a pain in the ass to remote play in from other places. So, like, usually it's like, yeah, when it's local, it's this way, but whenever you want to log in from wherever across the country it's a lot hard to do so. Now it's like a lot easier and I got that going
Starting point is 00:26:45 and I was playing a lot of a lot of that Yote on Steam Day. Nice job. Whatever happened to my like mine timed out and I just never figured out how to fix it. Like I try to open up the jockey thing and it was like you gotta go into your PlayStation
Starting point is 00:26:57 settings and turn on a thing and I was like I got time for that. I think because the app updated maybe and it requires some like refresh of a pin or whatever but once you get that done then I can now play back in Texas on my that sort of thing. January 15th also sees
Starting point is 00:27:16 the Legend of Heroes Trails Beyond the Horizon. PS5, PlayStation 4, Switch, PC, Switch 2 in, I'm sorry, the future of an entire content is at stake in this milestone entry in the Trails, did I say Trails before? Trails series. I don't know what I screwed up. Anybody in? Anybody doing this? I know it's a game for a lot of us. In a different life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:37 I tried trails of cold steel years and years ago and like liked what I played but it was very much if I'm going to play through this I got to dedicate my life to probably 70 hours of game plan it didn't have that in me but I look at this game and I think it looks cool that was on Mike's fantasy right
Starting point is 00:27:53 yeah Mike you're gonna get this one sky yeah and this one is the same I think it's the same don't even think about fantasy critic next year okay don't think I'll think about it the king is up to something he's already playing I wonder if this one's up here alley blessing cassette boy comes to PlayStation 5
Starting point is 00:28:09 PlayStation 4 and Xbox 1 on January 15th. This has been out on Steam. All you see, I'm sorry. All you see is all there is. Cassette Boy, a puzzle RPG. I'm in. Where what exists depends on you. We're still in development and plan to add tons of new mechanics, monsters, and puzzles.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Stay tuned. So it's already on PC and what in what fashion? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong. I thought it was. I mean, maybe there's like an old write-up. Yeah. I'm fighting.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah, that's what I pulled it from. But this looks. Oh, no, no. I'm sorry. This is not out on Steam. Wow. Oh, but it is coming. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:28:41 The data I had didn't include PC, but the Steam page does include PC on the 4th. Releases.com. You're slipping. You're slipping. Slipping. This looks fucking neat. I'm all about it.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Yeah, if you're not looking what I would describe it as looking like a Game Boy kind of game, but you're spinning the perspective and going through when talking to people and figuring it all in. People in chat are comparing it to Fez, which I think is after. God, Fez is so good. This is from the Steam page at first glance because that boy looks like a simple pixel art game, but there's much more beneath the service. What appears to be 2D World is actually three.
Starting point is 00:29:09 and by rotating the world, what is visible or are invisible from the protagonist's point of view changes entirely. Yeah, literally this is just, this is FES, but from like an isometric one of view. Very cool. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:21 All right. I'm on the, it's, I wishlisted. It's wishlisted. I'm going to wishlisted. From there, we have broken lore
Starting point is 00:29:27 unfollow coming PlayStation 5 and PC January 16th. And then Ghost Cam comes to PC and Metaquettist, I'm sorry, January 19th. It made the list here. It's a little ghost game to go through and look around with your camera.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Your camera sees what your eyes cannot. Explore eerie, liminal spaces, capture spirits before they capture you and unravel a haunting mystery. But beware, the deeper you go, the more the world distorts, and some ghosts will do anything to remain unseen. Of course, being a ghostbuster like myself
Starting point is 00:29:56 and a fatal frame fan, this gets interesting. As I said, it's PC and MetaQuest. You can play it in the old flat screen mode, so you don't need to be in the VR world if you don't want to be, which I wouldn't want to be. Mike, you play a little bit. A lot of the crazy can give.
Starting point is 00:30:10 You ever thought about playing phasmophobia? I've played it with you. I have played it with you. I haven't really a crazy loss than that. This does look fun though. Yeah. This is giving phasmophobia vibes. See a single player go through with the ghost camp.
Starting point is 00:30:20 That's more of my jam because I don't have to worry about trying to hear me scream. I know, I know. Maybe we got them. What do they call the flat screeners on the VR? This flat screeners? That sounds very drugged. Yeah. It's very derogic.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Here's an interesting one. I think we might all install on our computers. Mio. Memories in orbit. PlayStation 5, Xbox, Switch 2, PC, and Switch. This is the one I showed you and you said, I don't like this. I'm back now. January 20.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Play is an Android Mio in this mesmerizing Metroidvania where you explore the vessel an enormous technological arc overgrown with machines gone rogue. Uncover its secrets, enhance Mio's abilities, and save the spaceship and its residents from oblivion. I can't believe it's January. What I would like to tell you, everybody, is it. that I stand down, Andy. I was incorrect.
Starting point is 00:31:12 I skipped the game. I wanted us all to play. So this is me. Oh, everybody. I got confused. I was going to say. There's a lot going on. There's a lot going on.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Andy, let's talk about this one. You're into this one? Well, yeah, we saw this at Nintendo direct a long time ago. I just, I liked the way the mechanics looked
Starting point is 00:31:29 of the weird sort of hair tendrils is kind of what a guide you to this world. I remember we brought up the trailer because you hadn't seen it. And you're like, I don't like, this. I don't like that you showed me this. You're like, I resent you.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I was doing it for fun, giggles and stuff. It's not my type of game. But I'm obviously not. I don't think it looks bad. It looks very beautiful. It's just not what I'd want to play. Anybody else going to touch it? I'm definitely going to give it a shot.
Starting point is 00:31:58 What I wanted to talk about what we all should install and play together is On Together PC and Mac January 19th. A virtual co-working game to work, play games and hang out with your friends. Snake connected while you work and use break times to chat, chill, chew bubble gum, and more. So it's like one of those games that's running on your desktop while you do other stuff apparently. And you can go off and then, you know, hang out and do whatever. So it's kind of my favorite thing that could happen. Just more time with Andy.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Oh, God. Trying to find more time with them every single day. Anything that I can come up with. So it's a way to play video games at work? On Together is a cozy virtual co-working game that sits at the bottom of your screen while you focus on your tasks and socialize at break time. stay connected while you study in a shared co-working This is something Roger would use
Starting point is 00:32:42 Chat room It's a shared co-working chat room It's you know It's slack but we're all talking to each other Playing games Yeah I saw some people Talk using this for Like a Twitch
Starting point is 00:32:53 Integration thing Where you could see People in the chat Would be represented by the little avatar And they'd all be Different people from chat Would be sitting down at a table together Like kind of working together
Starting point is 00:33:07 and really, really cute shit. I don't really know how else it works outside of that, but it seems like a little cute concept. Use your personal built-in focus timer, two-do list, calendar, and journal to track tasks, set goals, and reflect on your progress, keeping you focused and motivated. It really feels like web fishing was sort of the start
Starting point is 00:33:26 of a lot of these sort of online hang things where web fishing is a very, very low-poly, low-fi 3-D game where it's just, you and your friends fishing with there's no there's no missions there's no it's like a very very feature light
Starting point is 00:33:44 game but it's just you and your friends hanging out in a in a third space or whatever let me tell you about PlayStation home oh we we you know too early on it it was ahead of its time the last faith awaken ancients switch PlayStation 4 Xbox 1 January 20th
Starting point is 00:34:00 blightstone on PC January 20th silt on iOS and Android January 20th that's a game that again has been out. It's, I believe, well received from its PC thing. But instead we're going to talk about Wart, L-O-R-T, L-O-R-T, Lort, PC, January 21st. Lort is a 1-2-8-player co-op action roguelike.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Team up with your friends to battle, loot, and stack ridiculous power-ups across this. Do you need another action role, rogue-like, Andy? Not really, but, you know, I always have my mind open for some new ones. we're getting the Lord trailer up right now shout out to Kevin who grabbed this
Starting point is 00:34:38 because I did not have it on the page I don't know what happened there I apologize Kevin I never mean to leave you again good art style it's in the it's in one of those between areas where I'm like I don't know if I like the art style but I also don't dislike it like the
Starting point is 00:34:52 the sort of low-fi nature of it but I there are some parts of it that do look a little too low budge that means low budget we'll find then move on this reminds me a little bit of hyperlight breaker
Starting point is 00:35:07 I can see that yeah yeah yeah which also didn't really set the world on fire unfortunately then I see over there show Shognor says it's
Starting point is 00:35:20 Fortnite art which isn't no no no I mean it looks like no it kind of got a caravan sandwich Dungeons of Hintraberg but it's like we can't just say this is Fortnite art
Starting point is 00:35:32 but like I could see the I could see Fortnite being in the pitchroom like when they first were talking about on the mood board yeah what's the vibe what do we want to go with with our multiplayer game well everybody loves fortnight and also these things like I could see it's starting there but I think we can't
Starting point is 00:35:47 call anything as colorful Fortnite yeah uh tailside cozy cafe sim comes to PC January 21st and then Mike January 22nd Art Knights Enfield Ark Knights Enfield is a 3D real time strategy RPG developed by HyperG
Starting point is 00:36:03 you will take on the role of the administrator of Enfield industry set out across TALOS 2 to uncover its secrets and defend the expand the frontiers. Of course we did a sponsorship with these folks but Mike you did a stream of it. You went down and played it. You talked to the devs did the whole shebang.
Starting point is 00:36:19 You are legit excited for it. I am legit excited for this. I told everyone in 2025 I'm going to step out of my bubble 26 plus. Back in the bubble. There's two big games that I want to try out. Gotcha games. Okay, gotcha. You don't need those. I'm going to try one. Do you want to ask somebody who
Starting point is 00:36:35 You can't stop spending money on video games. I was trying. And then different kinds of video games. My other one, World of Tanks slash World of Warships. Okay. I'm going to try both of those. Those are going to be the two genres. I give a little taste too, okay?
Starting point is 00:36:48 Then with both of you, both of you requested this. You're adding a third one. We're going to play. Try one. No, what's the other one? That's Destiny, but it wasn't Destiny. Warframe. We're going to play Warframe.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Oh, hell yeah. Right those three down for your boy, Mike. Two of them I'm going in. then boom, the other two were jumping in. I'm excited. From there, January 22nd, Dynasty Warriors origin comes to switch. Again, this is one that's been other places. Now, it's just getting this switch thing.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Become immersed in exhilarating battles as a nameless hero in the Three Kingdoms. Anybody? Mike, you like Dynasty Warriors? I love Dynasty Warriors. Did you play Origins? Would you come back? Yes, I would. Well, not on my Switch, too.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I've had fun on my PC and it's on Steam Deck as well. Also running on my Rog ally. Yeah, yeah. But I would say if you like Dynasty Wars, it's a great way to get back into it for sure. Well. For Warframe. What's the, what's the not Warframe, the other one? Soulframe?
Starting point is 00:37:46 Yeah, that one's supposed to be dope, right? And we all signed up for trying to get in. Yeah. I got my code, but I still haven't touched it. Soulframe's really cool. It's still like super early in. It's the same dev, but it's their fantasy version of it. What's up with this Nova Roma game?
Starting point is 00:37:58 Now you got something cooking here because I'll tell you what, Anno delivered. you guys. Oh, you're four games ahead. Stop. Am I? Yeah. Yeah, you're weird. Starting point is 00:38:38 Guys, we had an indie company reach out to us, hoping we could help promote their card game. I checked it out, and I'm having a delightful time. It's called Once Upon a Galaxy. I downloaded it, and it's really easy to get started. I instantly started finding crazy combos, developing my strategy, and admiring the beautiful character arts. Something super unique and cool is it's PVP, but there are no timers.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Start a game, set your phone down, for five minutes and pick it up and jump back in right where you left off. How do they do this? PVP with no timers? I don't know. It's magic. The games are quick, but really lives up to the phrase, easy to learn and possible to master. I keep finding new stuff every time I play.
Starting point is 00:39:19 I love the themes and the art of the cards from fairy tale heroes and villains to sharks with lasers on their heads. I also love setting up sweet support characters on my backline to help boost my frontline cards. Once Upon a Galaxy is crossplay on your phone and PC. You can download it right now for free. Starting point is 00:43:00 an unexpected calling from a forgotten god takes you on a perilous new adventure across the distant mountain to the titular Woolhaven, ancestral home of the lambs. I reviewed at launch, Colt of Lamb, and really liked it. And I feel like
Starting point is 00:43:15 it's one of those games I always think about coming back to and doing a new run of, because I definitely don't remember anything from like where I left off years ago now, but I still just don't think I would. I'm just going to say this. The month is dead enough and there has never been a better time to hop in to Colt of the Lamb. Are you being called to Lamb? I don't remember that.
Starting point is 00:43:36 I really, I really, really dug part one. I mean, I think it had its shortcomings. I wasn't like, I wasn't in love with it, but I had a good time with it. I think now with all of the feedback that's been received with, you know, tack that on to three or four. They've done so many expansions that have come out since then.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Yeah, I'm stoked to see exactly what has been added. You know, I want to go back? You want to, you want to run it back? I'm not going to help back in, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:02 I'm not going to help back everybody. I had such a great time. Me too. Naming all my dudes. I know, right? I just didn't like that they lived for a day.
Starting point is 00:44:09 You know, I was like, I want to build Greg Miller's story of the guy who goes out and now I'm going to have to murder him because he's like,
Starting point is 00:44:16 you know, he's trying to start a riot over here in my, in my camp or whatever. Remember when they ate poop? Oh, yeah, you would feed them poop, yeah. They didn't like that. Love that game.
Starting point is 00:44:27 I mean, I'll do it to you. I'll reinstall. I'll get in there. Speaking of reinstalling, coming back, Xbox and Switch to finally get Final Fantasy 7 remake integrate on January 22nd. Cloudstri, and I'm not going to read it.
Starting point is 00:44:39 You know what Final Fantasy Integrate is. Remake Integrate is. It's finally happening, bless. Yeah, it is. We're back to that usual. Oh, Xbox still never had that. Every time we get a trailer in the Xbox logo pop, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:44:48 really? You never had that? I would have lost so much money if we did a bet on whether or not Final Fink's 7 Integrate was on Xbox because I would have bet all my money that this came to did this not come to Xbox? No. I feel like I remember this coming to Xbox. They've been patiently waiting. Was it just PC?
Starting point is 00:45:02 Oh yeah. Holy shit. God, I, for a long long time. Phil, you got to visit Square Inex. You got to fly over there. You got to talk to them more. I think we're going to figure this out. I got to find that clip from me and Mike's marathon
Starting point is 00:45:15 where there's a beautiful moment with Ayrth and like, emotions are high and she's delivering like a really awesome monologue and I was like Mike when is Xbox going to get one of these and he goes don't you start don't you got all mad at heartbreak what a good fucking video game of course yeah this game rocks on PC hermit and the pig will arrive January 22nd hermit I'm sorry hermit and pig hermit and pig is a story rich turn based RPG where you fend off wild assailants forage mushrooms survived social anxiety and into a corporate conspiracy with your trusty pig. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:52 I really like the art style. The earthbound fan in me, this really speaks to that. 100% looks really cool. Very earthbound, very... Warrior? No? Undertail?
Starting point is 00:46:05 Yes, very undertale-coded, yeah. Not art style-wise, but just in terms of how the mini-games look. And that's the one thing, is that everything about this speaks to me except for the art style. Oh, really? I think it's cute.
Starting point is 00:46:17 I don't know why. Like there's something about how it looks that doesn't appeal to me as much, but it looks like it's such a fun, quirky game. Like, I still want to give it a shot. I put up my wish list. I love a good pig. I want to give it a shot just to see what the gameplay loop is and what the story's going to be.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Is it just style no substance or something going on for sure? Mike, you were too excited, but Nova Roma comes to PC early access, January 22nd. The glory of Rome is at your fingertips in this city building game, where you must appease the gods and act laws and develop complex supply chains to meet the needs of your citizens. Supply. I didn't expect you to bite.
Starting point is 00:46:55 I didn't expect you to bite so hard on this. I see Kevin get in the trailer for you. I am riding a high right now off of Anna-117. I need to spend more time with that game because it's just so good. Of course, patiently awaiting more manor lords in my life. There's a little fun city building call out for you.
Starting point is 00:47:15 But yeah, this is giving me some vibes. I like this art style they got. going on here. I would, I love a good city builder. And I'd like to try a little bit more. So yeah, I'm, I'm putting this on my list. I'm, I'm putting this on my list. I love this art style. This does way more for me than what a lot of the games going for like the ultra realism in this genre. Like I, there's something about this that's really, really working. It's really turning you on. I got to say. Brett. Yeah, it's interesting. I miss, you know, my SimCity days. Oh, but City Skylines I just can't get into. I've tried so many times.
Starting point is 00:47:48 You had a great play through. of Sim City or City. I did. A lot of people remind me that. I loved watching. Afterwards, tell me, somebody got in a lot of trouble for that series, and it's not at anybody you'd expect.
Starting point is 00:48:00 So ask me about that off air. For now, we'll move to Sega Football Club Champions coming out 20, or Sega Football Club Championship. Nobody cares. It's coming to PC PlayStation January 25th. I wasn't going to, 22nd. I wasn't going to bring it up. Instead, I was going to tell you, Mike,
Starting point is 00:48:15 you are going to play Blade Song on PC January 22nd. trailer. Lay it on me. The ultimate sword making game. Forage unique weapons with free form blade shaping and modular hilts perfectly balanced to your customers needs. Master the art of smithing and uncover the secrets of
Starting point is 00:48:31 Aaron Keepe. A last haven of a dying world or so they say. Mike, I've never met a more might. This is like TC card shop game or whatever the fuck, but it's your making it's a wild. Oh, but you need a shop though for Mike. Like Mike needs to have Loretto walking in there. Are they doing that?
Starting point is 00:48:47 They're going to come in there. But like, you know, in there to see the 3D people walking customer satisfaction we're going to give this a try this is crazy because i spent a lot of time at the forge this year yeah kingdom come deliverance too i was banging okay i was banged yeah i was banging red hot steel and i tried my best to deliver i will definitely this is crazy looking i'm going to try this video this is your shit i know it's insane you're gonna be making swords out there uh look look mum no computer comes to xbox and switch on january Orks must die by the blade comes to MetaQuest January 22nd. The Rumblefish 2 comes to Switch to January 22nd.
Starting point is 00:49:25 And then what I pulled out was Escape from Ever After. Comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox series, Switch and PC, January 23rd. A genre-bending RPG inspired by the classic Paper Mario Games. When a greedy megacorp from the real world starts taking over fairy tales for their cheap labor, a newly hired storybook hero must climb the corporate ladder, rally together other disgruntled employees, and fight back. We don't see this art style enough and it looks pretty dang good.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Yeah, I mean, they're doing such a great job of like doing the Paper Mario thing. I even some ways I actually like how this looks even more than Paper Mario. Like the way that the main character is animating and all this stuff, this looks really, really cool. Yeah, another one like Andy,
Starting point is 00:50:06 we're talking about that other one ride of like, cool, is it just style or will it be substance of a cool RPG or whatever? But I like what I saw enough to wish list it. I think you might too. I'm shocked, I'm just hearing about this for the first time.
Starting point is 00:50:16 That's what I do here every week for you. Thank you, Greg. You're the best. I read Releases.com for you and gather links. Star Moon Forest comes to PC January 23rd. Then, believe it or not, High Guard comes to PlayStation 5 Xbox Series PC January 26th. Most anticipated game of January.
Starting point is 00:50:36 The game of the year, 2026 race. From the creators of Apex Legends and Titanfall comes High Guard, a PVP raid shooter where players will ride, fight and raid as wardens, arcane gunslingers sent to fight. for control of a mythical continent. I'm holding out hope for this one. I'm really excited for this.
Starting point is 00:50:53 We all have our different thoughts and opinions, and the internet has been red hot with their thoughts and opinions all week since the game awards. But like, this has got to be probably the most anticipated release of January to kick off the new year of like,
Starting point is 00:51:08 will this game deliver or not? Is this game going to be good or not? A huge come-out party, a huge, hey, we're announcing to the world. We got something happening. A month later, no beta to be seen right? Like, crazy. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I'm hoping
Starting point is 00:51:26 for the best. I think it's coming out early enough, though, to where it can come out and either be super hot and awesome and then take a dip and then piss off the fans because of whatever. But then they could win them back and then maybe take another dip, but then possibly win them back after that second dip
Starting point is 00:51:45 for the Game War. You know what I mean? color code there. Because I, you know, just be dipping. When we get to a ward season, it's always like, oh, that game's kind of, people are mad at it right now.
Starting point is 00:51:54 And it's like, okay, well, fuck, the game did really well for a little, for a little while. I, I trust that this will be one of those games
Starting point is 00:52:01 that is similar to Wildgate. Where it's like, Wildgate died. Yeah. It's hot for a week. And maybe people fall off of it after that. You know, I just don't,
Starting point is 00:52:13 it's just, man, it's such a crowded. You got to give credit to Wildgate because they brought something different. It was fun. It was unique. Unfortunately, it just died immediately, right? And so, like, if this game brings something different and fun, like, I'll give a credit for that.
Starting point is 00:52:28 That's what I want to see, right? I want to see people taking a chance and trying something different. Unfortunately, it's tough to survive in this market. I mean, I think it is bringing something different. I think this whole raid thing where it's, you know, these characters gather that sword and the sword opens up that big sort of siege thing that then you take on, I'm a assuming computer NPC characters.
Starting point is 00:52:51 I'm not sure who's on the other side of the end of this little like objective that they do. That's tough because you should know. Like that's tough. But you should know. We should know these things. That's why this game as it while announcing it, you should drop, hey, here's a
Starting point is 00:53:07 weekend beta so we can get a hold of what this game is and actually be excited for it. Because right now, I'm looking forward to trying this out purely on the basis that they said that these are people that worked on Apex and Titanfall 2. And like I look back at that first, I was going to say week, but I would even say the first six months of Apex Legends as like one of my favorite moments in gaming. It hit me similarly to the first like year of Overwatch where it's like, damn, this most player
Starting point is 00:53:33 game has a chokehold on me. Me and my friends want to play this. We want to get obsessed with it and all of stuff. We're seeing a lot of things here that look interesting, but they've not done a great job of defining what any of it really is. what the gameplay loop is, which I think is a big mistake this close to the game. I'm also just fascinated with the title of the game, just being another work for Overwatch. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Hi. Hi, over. Watch. Guard. Wow. Like, how did we get there? Has anybody confirmed that? I've seen that since they launched, but has Vince Ampella winked at the camera?
Starting point is 00:54:08 Has anybody done it? Somebody has to interview somebody. Mr. Hawks, apparently, and I trust Mr. Hawks, interviewed somebody at TGA's. He says in the super chat, chat it with one of the devs after TGA, and they didn't know it would be the last thing shown. Jeff loved the game so much, he made the call. Maybe you were just chat with somebody alone on the toll. Jeff killed this video game.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I love this game so much, I'll kill it. I'm going to kill it. On January 27th, the Spirit Lift comes to PC. A retro horror deck builder, Rogue Light, set in a haunted hotel in the 1990s. Choose your teens, explore and fight. you die, rewind the night. I, not a big
Starting point is 00:54:49 deck builder person, but I do love a good horror movie, and I do love a good 90s teen movie. But I watched this and I was like, no, not for me. I'm starting to get Rogue Light deck builder fatigue. I do not like the art style at all. That's my, one of my
Starting point is 00:55:05 main turn off to it. That's interesting, because the art style is actually the thing that's making me, it's doing just too many different things for me. The character card art looks like it was made by a different artist than everything else was. Yeah. Rightfully Barry Arms comes out on Xbox and PC January 27th.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Core Keeper makes its way to switch two on January 28th. The Seven Deadly Sins Origin comes to PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android January 28th. Car service together comes to PC Early Access, January 28th. Now there's a game. You want to talk about that one? Now there's a game that could have some juice here. This is another management simi one, right? If you can drag a trailer out.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Car service together is a one to four co-op and single-player simulation game where you and or with your friends start from scratch and build your way up, work together to successfully run your own service center, team up, manage your business, and create the ultimate car service. Yep. We'll be playing that. We'll be playing that, me and Nick. Get Joey in there.
Starting point is 00:56:06 She loves that shit. You know that. Here's that actual cut of you in the body shop, with all your cars. Car service together. GTA working on your car Oh yes
Starting point is 00:56:15 Of course And these games Just like these Similar just never have any interest In having shadows Anywhere Like it's always Just like
Starting point is 00:56:24 It's always It's always the flattest thing You've ever seen in your life Man Why do all these games look off to me Dude man Yeah they don't have shadows Just put a light source
Starting point is 00:56:34 For fuck's sake man Please Wow January 28th is Steel Century Groove Steel Century Groove Steel Century Groove Is a rhythm
Starting point is 00:56:41 RAPG Where you pilot Mecca in dance battles, Andy. Oh. Challenge yourself against the deep music combat. Sorry. Challenge yourself against the deep music combat system. Build a team of colossal dancers.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Make friends and take on rivals as you grew from your cozy hometown to the big city championship. Yeah, no, thank you. All right. Those words spoke to me so deeply. And then we saw the gameplay. Well, I just heard Mecca and I got except, but yeah, everything. I mean, I heard Mecca in dance battle.
Starting point is 00:57:11 And that speaks to me. Fair enough. Karen comes to PlayStation 5 and PC January 29. That's Karen, not like the mad woman, but like, you know, climbing. Reach a summit never climbed before in the survival climber from the creators of Fury and Haven. Climb anywhere and playing your route carefully managing pitons. Yeah, pythons and resources to, Andy, I'm doing the hand. Pythons. And survive. And resources to survive unforgiving Mount Cammy. Discover what Ava is willing to willing to. to sacrifice to achieve the ascent of a lifetime. I don't think I realize that this is from the developers of Fury. I love Fury. Yeah. I guess,
Starting point is 00:57:50 what a weird. Peton. Thank you. Peton. Piton. Piton. Not for me. You know,
Starting point is 00:57:59 I don't know. I feel like there was a glut of climbing games all of a sudden. You know what I mean? But usually they're funny. This one seems more like it's trying to, whatever we're talking about here. Discover what Davis is willing to sacrifice to achieve. Like they're trying to do the,
Starting point is 00:58:11 maybe it's going to have a story and it's going to get me. journey with climbing. But like I don't, I don't. I'm not drawn to do that. So thank you very much. Don't Stop Girlie Pop comes to PC January 29th. Spread the love. Don't Stop Girlie Pop is a Y2K
Starting point is 00:58:25 Arena Movement shooter where standing still is not an option. Just don't stop moving. Oh, hell yeah. So yeah, arena shooter, but it is all hearts and pinks and cuties. What was your arena shooter this year? Metal Eden? I never got back to it. but I didn't love it.
Starting point is 00:58:44 I did not love Metal Eden, which was a bummer, because that's the devs of Ruiner. It had such a good look to it, but I just never loved the way that it played. Would you try something like this? I think this is a little too noisy, and like this is definitely one with how fast the movement will be where my eyes will be really bothering me
Starting point is 00:59:01 and tearing up after about an hour. I would need to hear the sound. Like, I feel like for a game that's called Don't Stop Girlie Pop, looking at these visuals, yeah, it looks chaotic, but I would imagine that you have music, right? like I want to hear Pink Panthers. Like I want to hear fast-paced. A tower is broughted to its
Starting point is 00:59:21 car. Ah, man. D&D. Never mind. Moving on. I hate this place. PlayStation 5, Xbox, Switch and PC January 29th.
Starting point is 00:59:30 A craft-based, isometric survival horror game with twisted monsters and a warped reality. Scavage and build to survive terrifying nights and days using stealth and noise to fight enemies that's stocked by sound.
Starting point is 00:59:42 All-styled in a bold comic art and 80s horror vibe. I'm the horror guy, but no, I'm good. Then we get through a bunch here. Dusk Index going comes to Xbox, PlayStation, January 29th. The Perfect Pencil comes to Switch and PC, January 29th. Chrono Arc, Deluxe Edition, Switch, January 29th.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Card and Seal, Switch 2, January 29th. City Tales, Medieval Era, PC, January 29th. Romance of the Three Kingdoms Eight remake, destiny and strategy expansion pack comes to PC, January 29th, and then Code Vane 2 comes to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox series, January 30th. An epic adventure awaits where you and your chosen partners explore a vast world, face fierce battles against powerful enemies, and uncover the epic story that transcends time. I'm stoked for Code Vane too.
Starting point is 01:00:30 I'm ready to have another souls like that kind of is like just mildly disappointing like, you know, first berserker Kazan early in the year. I need one of those every like, first first. quarter of the year. One that I'm going to kind of be like, oh man, it's, you know, it's close to being awesome. See, I wish I was right there with you,
Starting point is 01:00:50 but I think we've hit the point with having so many good soulslike action games that I don't have space for it anymore. You know what I mean? Because like what? No, I remember that. Next month we're going to get Neo3 later in the year. We're going to get Phanem Blade Zero. I got two to three souls likes in me a year,
Starting point is 01:01:08 and the space is filled. Damn. January 30th sees the 9th. charnel come to PlayStation 5 Xbox and PC a first person psychological horror game the ninth charnels filled with a rich and frightening atmosphere while exploring the many mysteries of this world you must survive whether you do it
Starting point is 01:01:25 through stealth or by using weapons that can't mean how it's pronounced is it charnel just don't like that word what is it charnel well it's like channel but they dropped in R and it so it's charnel versus something related to death especially a place where bones or dead bodies are stored no thanks huh
Starting point is 01:01:42 No, not for me. Mike, you gonna play? No. Let's talk about then. Vampires, Blood Lord Rising on PC January 30th. You are a vampire. Build a castle, manage your clan, and expand your hold over Seng of Ya. Oh, it's related to the word carnal, like a carnal sin. Nice.
Starting point is 01:01:58 I think a carnal is like sex stuff, you know? Me too, yeah. That's hot. Develop your character, experience a dramatic story in an open world, and rule the land, either alone or with your friends in co-op mode. Mike, you're always talking about wanting to be a vampire. I am looking for eternal life to spend with Andy. That's my goal.
Starting point is 01:02:17 I haven't found a good vampire game, so if you have one suggested to me, this doesn't look bad, though. It doesn't look great. Yeah, no, no, it's definitely in that weird. It's got, well, it's got crafting here. I mean, yeah, you're building, that was one of the first things they said.
Starting point is 01:02:33 It looks like a, build a castle. It looks like an older MMO that they brought back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, you know how the guy from Graham, My mom's boy wants to bring back the grandma's boy video game. Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, that's funny. He was in Avatar.
Starting point is 01:02:48 Do you know then? No shit. Yeah. The grandma's boy guy? Nice. Yeah, he's the scientist guy in Avatar. That's cool. Folklore hunter comes to PC January 30th.
Starting point is 01:02:57 You're a world-renowned hunter of supernatural beasts. Take on contracts and track down urban legends from all over the world. Gather resources, set traps, prepare your equipment, and use your hunter instincts. Me and Mike are learning carnals. Give it in a sentence, please? They were... Carnal desire. They had, yeah, they had carnal love.
Starting point is 01:03:18 Meaning marked by sexuality, according to Miriam Webster's dictionary. Okay, okay, okay. And that's the end of the official date dates, but 2XCO, supposed to come out in January. Yeah, that's what I was seeing on the internet? Yes. Okay. When do you think that's dropping?
Starting point is 01:03:33 Is that dropping? I'm surprised that didn't have a date. Yes, that is dropping, because they just announced it not that long ago. is a big announcement. The game's already out on PC in early access, and so it's like I wouldn't be, I'll be shocked, more shocked if it delayed. Looking forward to that, I believe this will be
Starting point is 01:03:50 its 1.0 release. And I mean, Mike was talking about High Guard being like most anticipated right of the month, but I think to XKL, its full release is up there as well. Yeah, I mean, I think that's like the legit one. High Guard is like the, will this fail or will it not fail, right?
Starting point is 01:04:05 All eyes on it. Yeah, all eyes on like what is going to happen with this game. Two XK. is most anticipated of like, this game is actually good. And I'm very excited for it to finally release on console. Like having a large, large player base, I'm all in on this. And on top of that, Prince of Persia, the Sands of Time remake, dying over here.
Starting point is 01:04:24 It's supposed to come out in January as well. Not supposed to, I should say, rumored to come out of January. Remember, we all are predicting game awards. Ubisoft would say that alongside the Assassin's Creed remake stuff. But no official confirmation. But someone to keep your eyes peaked on that one. Because I'm excited for Prince of Persia remake, whatever the hell that'll end up. being. Yeah. And that
Starting point is 01:04:42 ladies, gentlemen, and NBs is every game coming out in January 2026, unless somebody else added a game. But that's what releases says and what Game Informer says. So now you yell releases, you yell at Alex Van Aiken, I won't hear about it. Oh, we have a few super chats to get involved here.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Zeke Speaks says, nothing wrong with folks who play and enjoy gotcha. However, I do think gotcha games are morally corrupt, guenified gambling, and should be regulated. Better watch out when I start streaming it. Yes, we all should. could do that.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Goody. Super Nolan man says, I'm late. Did I miss kind of funny top 100 games announcement? You didn't. Carnal. You did.
Starting point is 01:05:17 You did. Let's give carnal on stream. Gotcha games. Six, seven. Kaiju Kori, super chats with a membership and says, do we know anything about Ubisoft's future plans? Anything in 2026?
Starting point is 01:05:29 I don't, I can't talk to the entire year of 20206, but I would expect that Assassin's Creed remake this, this Prince of Persia. They just bought the, oh, that Mova team. Yeah, Amazon.
Starting point is 01:05:42 Yeah, from Amazon is right. Which one? The throne. Giants of something. Yeah, yeah. March of the Giants? March of the Giants. March of the Giants.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Did they not announce Black Flag remake? No, that was the rumor. And they did do that at Game Awards? No. That's what we all thought. Easy money. Didn't happen. Man, you got me so excited for the possibility of Division III.
Starting point is 01:06:03 Being announced at the Game Awards. God dang it. I got so excited. Samson XP says, happy one year anniversary to me. Thank you for always being a great part of my day. This series is one of my favorite
