Order now at 5-hourenergy.com or Amazon. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the Kind of Funny Games cast for Thursday, February 26th, 2020. I'm one of your host, Greg Miller, alongside Forbes 30 under 30, aka New York Game Awards nominated, a.k.a. Bicep. Pappy. Blessing, Eddie Oye, Jr. Good day, Greg. Good day. Enough of you. Andy.
Starting point is 00:00:45 So you like it. Rootin-tootin 3-point shooting, root-and-tutin 3-point shooting. Routin' two point shooting. Root and Tootin first. All right, here we go. You need the space in between. Hispanic heartthrope, Texas Street, Latino heat, clicking heads and ripping him to shreds. The globe-shotten. Head-shotting. Rootin-Tooten. Freepoint shooting. Nitro rifle from Twitch. There's the rhythm, Daddy-o. There's the rhythm. It's going to take a few to get it right.
Starting point is 00:01:07 So root and tootin first. Root and tootin first. Whoa. Root and Tootin first. I won't forget it. Leticia. Dude, I never would spell Letitia that way. I never would spell that.
Starting point is 00:01:19 The only way it's spelled I'm pretty sure. You know what I mean? Like sometimes it has a C as the second Tee. But yeah, I would have gotten it. Latitia is crazy. And I nodded right next to one. He said, yeah. When I did it, somebody in the chat was like,
Starting point is 00:01:32 Greg's so white. Yeah. That was the moment where I was like, oh, you've gone too far. Damn, bricked on that one. Of course, over there, the master of hype snowmike, Mike. Hi, Greg, great to see you again. And then the taste maker, Roger Picorni.
Starting point is 00:01:43 What up, everybody. How you doing, Raj? I'm doing good. I'm feeling good. Is the white coffee cup yours, too? Yeah, I'm trying to drink water instead of just sucking. Oh, I didn't mean to bring this on the side. Instead of sucking on this nipple of an owala.
Starting point is 00:01:53 You know what I mean? It's just pink too, right? It's just weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look at that, everybody. I don't like that. So I'm doing the whole. Careful, lady, he's engaged.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Yeah, careful. All right. This is the kind of funny games cast where each and every weekday we talk to you about the biggest topics in gaming, whether they be reviews, previews or just topics we need to talk about. If you are watching live, be part of the show. YouTube.com slash kind of funny games. You can super chat as we go. What I need from you, of course, is the March hype index. What are the games you are stoked for coming out next month, which is mere days away, if you can believe it?
Starting point is 00:02:30 because of course this is our rundown of every game coming out in March. We couldn't do it without our producers over on patreon.com slash konda funny. So thank you, Carl Jacobs, so Megabuster Delaney the Somme twining. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be. Topic of the show. As I said, it is our monthly tradition here at Kind of Funny to go to the One, the Only releases.com, a website we adore and you should too, and run through every video game coming out in the next 30 days.
Starting point is 00:03:06 That's right. We're diving into the March game releases. And I'm excited to know if you think this is a hype month or not. Roger, is this a hype month or not? I would say it's a hype month. Okay. We got a few. Mike?
Starting point is 00:03:17 World Warcraft, Crimson Desert. Hell, yeah. Hype. Andy? I want to see Marathon Crimson Desert. Okay. Bless. Yeah, go so Yote, Crimson Desert.
Starting point is 00:03:27 That's what I like to hear. We're all about this. Oh, wow. We're all about this. Yeah. Go see. We'll get to. Of course, if you've never seen it, go through it, game by game.
Starting point is 00:03:34 If we want to, we stop and talk about it. If we don't, don't get mad at us, we will start with March 2nd. There are two games coming out. Metal Hunter on PC and World of Warcraft Midnight on PC. Are you going to go back? Yeah. My subscription is ready to rock and roll. I will go back.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Never left. It's never left. It was a lot harder to cancel on Rocket Money. Yeah, exactly. That was a conversation with Roger when we did the Rock and Money. Yeah, he was like, this is the one. need. Roger, you cannot cancel that.
Starting point is 00:04:03 You can't do that. Return to the elven kingdom of Kualas and Zawas. Invasion of Azaroths begin. And the void storm threatens to cover the world in darkness. The battle between the light and the void spans across four zones as you discover new allies and confront ancient enemies. As the void invasion descends upon the land, an array of new features add more depth and improvements to the evolving world.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah, this is the continuation of the world's soul. saga that they've kind of rode out of like, hey, here's the story. We want to break it into some larger expansion parts. And World Warcraft will always be my comfort game. It's always the game that I dream of giving all of my life to and never looking at any other
Starting point is 00:04:44 video game besides it, right? And I am the most casual World of Warcraft fan. I jump in during the expansion weeks. I'll jump in every now and then. It's kind of like Minecraft. It calls to you once a year. You give it a couple days. You give it a week. If you play it, then you give up and you go, okay, that was good enough. I'll
Starting point is 00:05:00 come back whenever. But it will always be one that I hold near and dear to my heart. It is also a fantasy critic drafty of mine. So I am looking for like larger reviews on this one, hoping for 85 and above. I think the last one was like 83. So I'm feeling good about this one. So yeah, this for me is call the, call the boys up. Let's get on.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Let's start playing. Are you going to call me? Yeah, but I will call you and say we're not playing hardcore because we lost you the first time we did hardcore. I died a lot, yeah. You're like, I'm done with this. Permadeth. Fair enough. We move then to March 3rd,
Starting point is 00:05:37 where a slew of video games release starting off with the one the only Scott Pilgrim EX, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox, Series X, and more. Anyone here hyped for another side scroll and beat them up from tribute games? This one kind of crept up on me.
Starting point is 00:05:53 I kind of forgot that it was this soon. I mean, I always love the look of it, and obviously, you got the Gooch helping out with the music as well, Onomatoguchi returning. I am not the biggest fan of Beatem Ups. I kind of will dabble here and there, but I think it's just,
Starting point is 00:06:11 I think it's too pretty looking and too cute to not give it a shot. Scott Pilgrim EX is in an action-adventure game where players can fight a Scott Pilgrim or Ramona Flowers and Moors as they battle through the fractured time and space of Toronto. The combat gameplay is driven by instinct, instinct, instinct and improvisation, a hectic ballet of fists and flare that roars strategy, spontaneity, and a good bit of brawling chaos. You know, I was shocked to discover that this was tribute as well. I saw it. I was like, oh man, coming off cosmic invasion, Ben and I had such
Starting point is 00:06:41 fun with that. I'm not the biggest Scott Pilgrim guy, but the game looks cute. We could go do that. And then it was like, oh, man, this is another tribute game. So that puts it up on the list of like, yeah, I need to try this with Ben. I need to jump into this. And them calling it action adventure rather than beat them up. I think there's more to it than that. Yeah. An interesting one for sure. Roger. No, I was just gonna, I was just gonna, I was just, I think I'm at the point now in my life where I can't be lying to myself anymore. Like I try so many of these beatem up games like this is the one this way. I haven't played cosmic invasion. I'm like, this should be the one
Starting point is 00:07:09 for me. I'm halfway through. I'm like I can't. But are you playing them by yourself? No, I'm even playing with me. I'm even playing with me answer and everything. I'm just like, I'm not. Because I feel like that's the problem with me is that beat them up's come out and I start playing them and I'm like, uh, something's not like not clicking here. And I feel like it's, I view beatem-ups is more of a social experience. When I think about the times where I've enjoyed beat-em-up, it's always playing locally with somebody else. Techie Arcade Cabinet, gather out the X-Man.
Starting point is 00:07:30 That's true. And we've been traded to some really good beat-em-ups. And, Roger, I was similar to you. I didn't know if beat-em-ups were for me. I really felt like, hey, I'm good on this. Like, no way. And then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, of course, Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Starting point is 00:07:44 But there's one that's on the tip of my tongue. Absolutely? No, it's the, maybe something wolves, something fury. it's like fatal, Fatal Fury. City of the Wolves. No, no, that's not the game. That's the problem. It's like, streets of rage. Streets of Raids. Streets of Raids. Four.
Starting point is 00:07:59 That was the one where I was like, you know what? I'm into this. Killer music. A ton of fun with the boys. Yeah, I'm into this. I will say that as much as I look at every tribute game and just like, I'm just slacked out of the art style. I just love how much sauce they have visually.
Starting point is 00:08:16 The way the characters look, the pixel work is just so phenomenal. I just like, hey, let's do, let's just do a top down game for the next game. Let's do like a Zelda like hyperlight, light, drifter like, mean of the hollower, top down, isometric, whatever it is. Like, I want a different genre from them because I just love their art style so much, but it's just the beat them ups are never the thing that get me in. You want there, Elliot. Yes. Whatever the
Starting point is 00:08:40 misadventures of Elliot and the hat. Elliot, the Moly. Give Scott a stupid little hat. What a dumb hat. The mystery of the fucking hat. is the subtitle. I'm excited for this just because I remember when they re-released the first Scott Pilgrim, like, Side Scroller Beatam Up, it didn't hit as much as I remember
Starting point is 00:08:59 originally, and so I'm excited for like another take, another follow-up with more like modern design stuff, learning from beat-em-ups from the last decade or so. Sure. And then especially also coming off of the Netflix show, whenever that came out like a couple of years ago, that was like, didn't properly sell itself as like a Scott Pilgrim sequel.
Starting point is 00:09:23 And so I wonder how they play around with that. Yeah, with this one being the multiple universe or whatever, the shattered dimensions they're talking about. It seems like they're going to be something different and interesting with it. So more power two. I have Legacy of Kane defiance remastered. Roger, is this you? Are you, you're a legacy of Kane guy, right? Yeah, I grew up with it.
Starting point is 00:09:41 My Aunt Randy, she would always show me Legacy of Kane and Soul Reaver. And I remember pee in my pants because he was so scary, but I loved it so much. I went back and I played the first remasters that they did a few years ago. And I really enjoyed it. I never finished it, but I was like into it. I was like, oh shit. Like, it's crazy to see Amy Henning's vision and what she was able to do on the PS1 and now brought to life. It's also one of those cool remasters that they're able to switch between the art styles, like on the fly, which I think all remasters should be able to do.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Like, this is awesome. So, yeah, I'm definitely going to try this out and I'm going to have that nostalgic afternoon. I don't think I'm going to actually finish it. But it's really cool. And I'm happy that they're doing this. It's coming to switch. It's coming to everything. no you're worth running through, but yeah, return to
Starting point is 00:10:18 Nasgoth. Is Kane and Raziel clash between fate and free will, upgraded HD visuals, refined controls, and a modern camera. From there, on the list here, we got the legend of Camori. That's coming to PC early access. And then Esoteric Ebb. Hearing a lot about this one. This is the one I highlighted,
Starting point is 00:10:35 because I knew we'd be talking about it. Got him, Greg. Got him. Coming to PC, March 3rd. We're still on March 3rd, by the way. Esoteric Ebb is an isometric disco-like TT-R-PG, turn CRPG set in bizarre post arcane punk fantasy setting. You are the cleric, an expert in esoteric events, and a glorified government goon.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Inspired by classic CRPG games, esoteric eb features deep and branching dialogues with a staggering amount of choices. This is one that looks fucking rad. Disco-like. Yeah. We're doing it. We're doing that.
Starting point is 00:11:08 That's just a CRPG. Yeah, but it's like different because it's cooler, you know? Yeah. And like all of the text is like shows up on like one side of the screen. you know. Ah, yeah, that's what it's the differentiator. That's what makes it disco. Anybody going to jump in a choice?
Starting point is 00:11:23 We should do a stream of it. I want to give it a shot. It does seem like I've been hearing a lot of people talk about it, but I don't really. I think it's available on Steam Next Fest demo right now. Okay. So maybe that's where I give it a shot and decide whether I want to actually hop in, but might still be busy with The Witcher. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:11:40 I mean, I definitely will be. Then we got a bunch of games that I didn't jump off the page, but stop me if they did for you. All of these are PC, PC Early Access for Humica. Then it's irising arcade. Then another early access one, Drain Sim. External afternoon. I'm sorry, eternal afternoon.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Lux Man, moonlit market. Noddy Nomes, I've seen a little bit more about. It's got a G in front of it. It's like a naughty bear. That one, I believe, is having a really good Steam Next Fest demo showing with a lot of people, kind of the friend-slop genre here that people are loving. If we could get the trailer up, gather your friends improve who's the best gnome throw hit dash taunt
Starting point is 00:12:18 explode anything is valid to win and crown yourself the undisputed champion try to combine upgrades to maximize your build potential let chaos rain 30 minute matches are fast wild but above all very fun generating both laughter and violence and equal measure yeah this is one that when I went through last night
Starting point is 00:12:34 I was like I'm not going to leave this one and then this morning I saw people talking about it yeah I guess off next to us how good it is I also want a shout out that we just got rated by the homies at giant bomb and everybody make sure you stick around because there's a merch good boy happening in the Twitch chat right now. And you're in the YouTube chat and you want a chance to
Starting point is 00:12:50 when you have to go to the Twitch chat to try to win. Sorry, YouTube. That's just the way it works. Sorry. It's fine. You'll understand. I do want to rewind. I see that we kind of glossed over a new sim. Drain sim. Are we not talking about this? Like the ultimate drainage experience get called to flooded areas
Starting point is 00:13:06 and drain out that that zone. Okay. Those are some great TikTok videos though. I love those videos. When people were just like pulling the graph and the shit out of the drain. Get called to a ranch, have to pull up, fucking drain that grassy area? I'm in, dude. You get like a...
Starting point is 00:13:22 Okay, it's not like bathrooms. No, no, no. I thought this is like, hey, you're going to bathroom pulling out a wad of hair. This is like a flood just happened. Yeah, okay. Save the city type of stuff. Oh, I don't like that. They know what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:13:32 I don't make that face. Okay, that was an insane thing. I mean, that is what you recommended, Mike. That is how I react though, Mike, whenever I see the dude pulling out all the leaves from that from the little flooding. And then you just hear like, like a sound and it's just like, ah, like, and you see all the water kind of clear out. People, people are into this. Yeah. Keep an eye out. People.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Your eye out, everybody. I'm telling you, that game about digging a simple game about digging a hole popped off and was one of the best games of last year. Now they got new ones of like, you can do it with friends. Put me in the drain. I'm in it. Put him in a drain with friends. Your final March. Third game is Apoya. No, a popia. Popia. Sugar-coated tail. then we moved to March 4th. Homer Haim is coming to PC. And then Ninja Guided 4, the two Masters comes to PC, Xbox, and
Starting point is 00:14:23 PlayStation 5. I know we are all big Ninja Guided fans. So I wanted to call out this D.L. I mean, it's all for blessing. I did like Ninja Guided 4. The two Masters adds three, all new chapters in Ninja Guided 4's campaign. Players can also access to new weapons. Are you excited? You going to go back for this? I got to be real with myself.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I got to be real with myself. I thought everybody loved it. That was the best action game ever. Everybody loved to be a Cultural reference. It's a busy week. One thing I do want to call out is Homura Hime or Hime. I'm not sure. It's probably Heme.
Starting point is 00:14:54 I put it into assets. It's based on the clips that I saw, very kind of bullet-like, bullet-hell-like returnal style dodging of boss fights. It very, very anime sort of focused with the art style. But the way the combat looked in some spots looks super sick. and I kind of am into the way the combat looks whenever there are boss fights
Starting point is 00:15:18 and things like that is it like one of them automata likes? I don't know I don't know there's just a lot of like hacking and slashing and then when all of the
Starting point is 00:15:26 bullet hell self is coming you're having like dodger that you know from the brights I love this yeah this is totally does you ever play Fury
Starting point is 00:15:33 oh way back in the day I used to love Fury what is this guy Homura Hime yeah okay so this looks pretty rad this is one that I saw
Starting point is 00:15:42 kind of in our littered amongst our dozens and tons of emails we get every day from press stuff. Yeah, and like the reason why Ninja Guy in 4, even though I'd like to play it, because I did like that game, March 5th is looking kind of crazy. We'll get there.
Starting point is 00:15:57 To close out March 4th, packs Autocratica and then pizza slice come to PC as well. Run your own pizza restaurants. Oh my God. Shut up, Mike. We're to be here. Dude, we're going to have best sim of the month
Starting point is 00:16:08 is what we're going to have to vote on. What if you're like... Best sim of the month. We've got to turn this restaurant around. go Detroit style now. Can you imagine that? More than just a simulator. Pizza slices a true Italian adventure.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Take on the role of Tonio, manage your family pizzeria, big authentic Italian pizzas, and fight the competition and grow your business. See if you can win the best pizzeria in town. And you guessed it, no shadows to be seen anywhere. If you think this game will have cast shadows,
Starting point is 00:16:37 you're crazy. We don't need shadow. We're here for pizza making. March 5th Marathon. actually comes out. Marathon, not Marathon. Marathon comes out. Xbox PC and PlayStation 5. Who wants to get off the hype level here for Marathon? I can't believe it's, I can't believe we're here.
Starting point is 00:16:53 I saw that March 5th date. I'm so focused on server slam right now that I didn't even think we're turning this on a week from now. I'm blown away. I'm very excited. I really want to see what Bunchy and the team did to kind of, you know, re-ignite the flame, work on what the feedback was and take it all. into account of make a really good extraction shooter.
Starting point is 00:17:15 We know it's got the vibes. It's got the gunplay that I liked. I liked the collision. There's something more, though, I think to get the general audience on with mission structure, of course, with more PVE slowing it down. There was just too much engagement during that first beta that I think players, when they look at Arc Raiders, were like, oh, I really enjoyed like the downtime or I enjoyed me taking on the Ark and not having to worry about Mike, Andy, and Blessing,
Starting point is 00:17:41 colliding with us like almost every minute, right? So how did they take that feedback and how do they rework this? It's going to be an exciting week and into release. It's crazy. Anybody else want to talk about it? Yeah. I mean, I'm right there with Mike. I want to see exactly how long it could get me on there for because
Starting point is 00:17:58 the arc Raiders, for a genre that I'm never super into as much as I would like to be. Art Raiders had me for a decent couple of weeks. I think this will have me for about, I think it'll have me for less than a couple of couple of weeks only because of how stacked this sort of, you know, day and kind of week are. But I have a really good feeling that they like kind of really righted the ship and have turned things around and, you know, seeing it pop up. I saw Paul Tassie posting that it was,
Starting point is 00:18:28 you know, number five on bestsellers on Steam trending and stuff. And that's awesome for a $40 video game whenever we think about how it's for a lot of consumers. It's usually like free to play or nothing. It's awesome. them to see, you know, hopefully this could be a big rebound moment for them. And with Arc Raiders proven me wrong and a lot of other people wrong, how I just assumed that extraction shooters would not vibe at all with the more casual markets was totally proven wrong there. Everybody love Arc Raiders.
Starting point is 00:18:56 I think that like, oh, they opened that, you know, they were sort of the gateway drug and hopefully people can hop in and hit to here because I just want to see this game thrive. And this game looks so sick art style-wise. I want to be into it. It looks better every single time it appears. Yeah. Like somehow, that, that's true. trailer looks better than the last trailer. They did a lot
Starting point is 00:19:13 of massive overhauling to the visuals and environments and lighting and things like that, but it's still, yeah, I just love everything it's doing. Their marketing team is just so fucking crazy. From there we roll into, this is still March 5th. We will be here quite a while, everybody.
Starting point is 00:19:30 Planet of Lana 2, children of the leaf. A game we were interested in, so we tried to do a re-review of the first one and it just fell apart in all the giant headlines we had. The saga continued. their home saved a deeper journey begins. Planet Alana two children of leaf
Starting point is 00:19:45 is an ambitious cinematic puzzle adventure that doubles the size and scope of the original. Mike, you always pop off when we talk about. Yeah, this was a special one to me. This was me stepping out of my comfort zone. And also like kind of following my interest and like enjoyment of games like inside. And so this is that side scrolling one.
Starting point is 00:20:03 There was no, I believe, Baird, I don't think there's any talking in this. There's no dialogue. It's just you and the cat, you know, little goo monster. and you're on this really heartfelt touching journey and maybe there's some aliens involved and you're just trying to live. I'm excited to see what they do on too.
Starting point is 00:20:18 I think there's one of those games, Greg, you always put it best of like, this team deserves a sequel. This team nailed the first one and I'm excited to see what they do with the sequel. Every time I want to boot it up late in night on that Steam deck, there's just always like a new demo out or something else that I want to try.
Starting point is 00:20:34 And it definitely, like I lost the momentum on either remembering that I wanted to play part one just because of how insane these game releases have been. But it's one that I definitely want to get into because I just love the arts. So I love the visuals of it. Yeah. And seeing what they're building on top of the first one has me very excited because like beating the first one, you know, it felt like a really nice, lovely, touching,
Starting point is 00:20:57 contained story. And so I'm interested just like where they go from here after, you know, you're this kid who saves her village from being abducted by seemingly like aliens, right? And so I'm excited to see more of the world As we see in this trailer here Do you think I can play this one without playing the first one? I think the first one's only like four to five hours Yeah the first one
Starting point is 00:21:20 Can he fucking ask how long it was? Do you think like to play it was? I'm gonna stay on business You gotta play the first one. Yes, yeah. You gotta play the first one. Okay. With these two characters like on the title screen
Starting point is 00:21:31 the kid and the little cat like creature like the entire first game is about their relationship and I think I imagine a sequel is going to go even more into that. Bear, can you bring up the other link that I posted in assets? Very important that we don't get confused. Planet of Lana, two, Children of the Leaf. Yeah, I put in a link into assets. Don't get it confused with any other games that may be out
Starting point is 00:21:57 because there's a, as I was looking through demos, there's just going to Planet of Lava, save the planet. Oh, wow. And it is not Planet of Lana to, you know, children of the Leaf or whatever. So don't get it confused. It looks good, though. Yeah, this looks like... Yeah, lighting looks great.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Why are they on a planet of lava? I feel like I just wouldn't go there. I mean, in a lot of ways, aren't we on a planet of lava? Yes, aren't we on a planet? Yeah, but there's way more lava off the planet. You think this is a vacation choice? Is that a giant cockroach? I simply would not visit.
Starting point is 00:22:24 We have a super chat from Zachian, Galaxian, who says, inject Slay the Spire 2 directly in my veins. Well, good news. March 5th sees Slay the Spire 2 come to PC early access. After a millennium, after a millennium of anticipation, civilization eagerly awaits the reopening of the spire's doors. Embark on a return journey to the spire confronting both allies and adversaries in the sequel to the definitive rogue-like deck builder. Bless. It's huge.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Are you, you're, you know, correct me wrong. You haven't done Slay, but you've all, you've, we're all the same boat with this, son. Well, I play, I've now played quite a bit more Slay the Spire because I got it on mobile. That was like the big change for me. Yeah. It was funny enough on the way to Pax. I was on the plane and there was a girl sitting beside me playing it on her phone. And I was like, I should just do that.
Starting point is 00:23:15 That's the only way I'm really going to play Slate the Spire if I really want myself to check this thing out. And Slay the Spire, a brilliant game. So brilliant where it's one of those ones where as soon as I started playing it, I started seeing all the other games that takes so much influence from Slate the Spire. Like 99% of the card-based roguelikes that you play have Slade the Spire DNA in them. You know, it's that kind of. Spire likes. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:23:38 that kind of influence coming out of this. And so it's really cool to see them get toward the second one. I don't know if I'm going to jump in for the early access. I kind of want to wait to see what the vibe is. And yeah, show up for the final thing because it might come out in mobile at that point. Sure. Really exciting, though. Andy, are you going to jump into this?
Starting point is 00:23:54 Yeah, for sure. This is one that I hopped into Slay the Spire won finally this year. And I didn't completely vibe with it. And I think it was just like a place and a time thing. and also I think that because they were the kind of the blueprint for a lot of these other roglytes
Starting point is 00:24:13 that a lot of roglights kind of see what they do and then kind of expand upon that formula and maybe I preferred like the more expanded upon formulas or I don't know but maybe it was just a combination of that in the art style
Starting point is 00:24:26 and just kind of where I was at with gaming but this is one that it's like yes you have to check it out much like you would check out mugenics just because of how Edmund McMillan, right? Yeah, you know. And just like, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:39 the sort of catalog and, you know, it's a big deal, this one. If you're somebody who loved Monster Train 2 from last year, like this is the, I think I must play. Right, Monster Train 2, as you play, Mike's looking at me. Now I'm giving you the look. Like, the only difference really is Monster Train 2 is more of a tower defense
Starting point is 00:24:55 situation, whereas this is you're going through and like taking down all these enemies and growing your catalog of cards and all this stuff, right? But a lot of similar DNA there as well. And so if you like that game from last year, you're going to want to hop into this one. Okay. I'm running for this team. They switched over, I think, from Unity to Godot, which is a big deal for them.
Starting point is 00:25:10 So, yeah, hell yeah, and I'm happy that it's finally out there. I'm going to try it out for sure. After that one on your March 5th list, it has so many games, Pokemon Pocopi. Oh, which to, of course, Pokemon Pocopi is a life simulation game where players can create their own Pokemon Paradise. The game features Ditto as its protagonist, who has transformed to look like a human, as Ditto players can explore and learn moves from the Pokemon they befriend, expanding their capabilities in helping grow their town.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Blessing, you've played this one. Yes. And when you came back, you said, Greg, this could be your game of the year. Legitimately. Which got me so fucking jazz. Yeah, really excited to see how Pokemon fans take to this one, I think is one that's going to be special. In fact, I'm somebody who's not into the Animal Crossing style, Dragon Quest Builder style Lifesim.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Yeah, Minecrafty kind of game. I want to play this one. You know, I think there's something about the energy that Pokemon brings to this kind of game that is adding a level of charm and a level of when you're playing as the ditto, which is transformed into a human, and you're meeting these different Pokemon and adopting their abilities. Something about that just works.
Starting point is 00:26:12 And something about that is, again, really charming when you see the ditto grow the vine arms because it's copying Bobasaur or spit out water. A lot of body horror. A lot of terrifying shit on. And also like maybe. Just screams when it does it. But also like the weird thing of what's going on
Starting point is 00:26:29 in this world is this a post apocalypse? Like I, there's a weird kind of like energy here from what the story. he's trying to tell from the Pokemon side of things I'm just very interested in. Can't wait. I'm not alone. Over here, Scorpy and Brew, Super Chat and says, I am going to buy Pokemon,
Starting point is 00:26:45 Pocopia. I just got to switch to and beat Pokemon ZEA. Now I'm interested in more. Greg, I finished Super Nintendo by Kazan McDonald. Fantastic book. Thank you for having her on the show. No problem. It is a great read. I'm enjoying it still. Can I listen to that? Can I read that book in my ears? You sure can. She narrates it.
Starting point is 00:27:01 It's great. Fuck, yeah. Yeah, Pokemon, Pocopi. Man, I can't fucking wait for. You know, I've been back on this Animal Crossing train with the Switch 2 update, but obviously combining my number one Pokemon fandom with that kind of thing. And I did love Dragon Quest Builders on my Vita. I did really enjoy Minecraft for quite a long time to see what this is. I'm stoked for it. Did you ever play Viva Penaena?
Starting point is 00:27:22 I never did, no. Because people were throwing that out there as well during the preview cycle. Interesting. It has some of the similar things going on. I watched a Viva Penaata a lot, the TV show. And then they had the gate, because it's based off a TV show. I did not know that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Yeah. Yeah. I'd watch that a lot. Yeah. And then I played the game. I was like, this is not the show that I love.
Starting point is 00:27:39 I'm very excited for Pocopia. I, a huge Minecraft person, loved Animal Crossing for, you know, the small amount of time that I played comparatively to my fiance
Starting point is 00:27:48 who is like 300 hours into it. I, it's interesting. I'm actually coming at this from like a baseline Pokemon knowledge and fandom where I have seen the Pokemon show
Starting point is 00:27:59 and I enjoyed it, but then I would go to school and everyone had like their favorite Pokemon's and they would be obsessed with it. And I'd be like, why are you guys obsessed with it? they were playing the games.
Starting point is 00:28:06 I never was playing the games. So I don't even have like a favorite Pokemon. So like that's like the level of like Pokemon fandom. We gotta get a lot. Now Dino's gonna be your favorite. Exactly right. But now I'm excited to like play this because I think this is my entry point to finding my favorite Pokemon to understand in the universe a little bit more from the gaming side of
Starting point is 00:28:21 things so that potentially I can parlay that. There's content here more. I mean there's a lot of content. Finding Roger's favorite Pokemon. Yeah, this is a drop everything for me. Oh wow. And the squad are going to play a lot of this. I've seen creators already on social media share that it looks like it's cloud-based.
Starting point is 00:28:34 I really thought this is going to be a media. and Joey thing. I'm glad you guys are reading. Oh, no. This is a, well, what they're promoting right now from what I've seen from creators saying that it's cloud-based online, meaning that it's always on. So when I leave it, I'm the host, Andy can work on it. Great can work on it. Bless can do whatever. So, like, that's where you get me with the squads in this world. I think I lost that with Animal Crops because it felt so me alone and it was a lot. If this is Mike, Mike Wash, Chris Sankha, Manock, and Greg Miller can play and at the same time. And like whenever, then I'm in. Like, I'm gonna go crazy on this.
Starting point is 00:29:08 If you miss one day, though, you'll come back and Chris Hank and Wash will now have, like, nuclear rockets. That's too much, guys. And it gave up on us on Minecraft. It was really depressing for everyone. We had to have a funeral and everything. Yeah, I was, like, really excited. Like, I'm gonna give Minecraft a real honest cry. And suddenly it's like, we have platinum fucking, like, sniper rifles and stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:29 I got a fun bit, and I got a prediction for you. Firstly, Viva Penaata, the TV show ran. from 06 all through 09 on 4 Kids TV 52 episodes of the game and it's weird because it was released simultaneously with the game because it's based off the game but I think the show came up before the game
Starting point is 00:29:47 so it's a weird one interesting one yeah my prediction I think Pocopia ends up in the kind of funny top five God damn yes that's my one that's a really good I mean he's had a pizza bet I mean who's arguing against though I don't like I wouldn't mind
Starting point is 00:30:02 Mike you like buying pizza I do love I do love pizza bats. I'll do it. Fine, I'll say it. I don't think it ends up on the top of it. I can't. I fucking, it's a game Greg Miller
Starting point is 00:30:13 likes that everyone likes. I don't believe it. I don't believe it. But not as it happened a decade. But me, like me and Mike have that survivor game like building like,
Starting point is 00:30:23 you know, history. We love. Yeah, but this isn't going to be, I mean, correct me of wrong, plus this isn't going to be like a survival game.
Starting point is 00:30:28 No, but I mean, I just love building stuff. I love kind of seeing the community grow. Let's fucking rock this. I spent three hours in a survival game last night. What'd you play? Windrose, the new Pirate Survival games.
Starting point is 00:30:41 All right. That's right. It's getting you more intense and angry. We got to hop back in and shrouded. We still have so many March 5th games to go. The other one I highlight here was Nevergraved the Witch and the Curse. This one I hadn't heard of until I went through this. Nevergrave is a 2D action adventure game where you embark on a journey assisted by a cursed hat.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Recognize enemy patterns, combat foes using magical abilities, and occasionally leverage the environment to your advantage. the Power World deaths. No shit, really? I totally missed that this was them. I thought a good, good art silent, obviously 2D action adventure, hopping around. I played the demo.
Starting point is 00:31:15 I didn't love it. It does seem to have possibly, like, you know, improved since then. Oh, maybe it's just PocketPair publishing. It's not the actual Power World team, but it's the publishers. What's wrong in my? Oh, nothing.
Starting point is 00:31:28 You'll hear it in a second. Something exciting's happening. Oh, Jesus fucking God. Another simulator problem. So anyways, in the games, we should be going fast through, we have thousands more to go. Displace comes to PC early access on March 5th.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Coffee Talk Tokyo comes to Switch. Doct comes to PC. Yeah, cool. None of this matters except for docked, okay? We have another life sim on the way. Punch that 9 to 5 after your 5 to 9. Okay. Or punch that 5 to 9 after you're 5.
Starting point is 00:31:52 This shit is lit. A long shortsman's job is never done as the lead operator you will be tasked with getting hands-on daily operation and continuous expansion of your father's dock. In the wake of a devastating hurricane? Yes, I will 100%. I want you to know that I'm on the TikTok feed of dudes out in Oakland
Starting point is 00:32:12 who show up to the docs all the time and unlock all of the big cargo boxes. And I think to myself, I can do that. I can bro down. I thought you're off TikTok. Well, it's Instagram. Now they follow you. This guy is horrifying looking at this dude.
Starting point is 00:32:26 This is great. He's scarier than the guy who fucking juice his pants because of the unclogging thing. You know what, Greg Miller, mark it down. end of the month put on a games cast snow bike Mike tells you the simulator of the month oh I thought you're gonna do oh wow I'll tell you I thought it was gonna be a stream in the headline is going to be Mike is docking
Starting point is 00:32:43 that's actually great too yeah yeah let's do that uh yeah okay I like that unless yeah we got to put all these to the side yeah we got to all right then Jim back to it back to dawn comes out of the switch this is still the fifth poker night of the inventory comes to PC PS4 and switch come on we're so back so back
Starting point is 00:33:02 gaming is great Poo Muckle and the crown of the Pirate King comes to Switch, Switch to PC, and PC, Crom Leck comes to PC early access, Rager comes to PSVR2 and PS5, Machine Mine comes to PC, MacFortress comes to PC, Portrait of a Torn comes to PS5, Sushi Cat Tower Defense comes to switch, Ratchetier, DX comes to Switch and PC, and then Vampire Therapist comes to Xbox X and Xbox 1. It's also on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, it had been released on PC. The vampire therapist is a captivating narrative adventure, drawing inspiration from classics like what we do in shadows, the comedic horrors of Mel Brooks, and the absurdity of Monty Python, the educational humor of horrible histories. It looks like a visual novel that we're clicking through, making choices, having things while we talk to a vampire.
Starting point is 00:33:48 I'm intrigued, and I will be trying to play this at some point. Then our final March 5th game is Age of the Barbarians Chronicles on PC. And while we're here, let's take a breath. Remember, of course, we couldn't run you through every video game coming out every month. Starting point is 00:34:55 The sweet treat that you won't feel guilty about packed with B vitamins, nutrients, and that all-important caffeine to keep you going. Just as pocket size is your favorite candy, but with zero sugar and zero sugar crash. Forget boring. Find the rainbow. Grab the shot. Dive into the sweet boost for your sweet tooth.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Visit 5-hourenergy.com or Amazon today. He's here. He's here, don't worry. I see any more water. Then we move on to March 6. Lost and Found Co comes to PC. Mirage 7 comes to everything it looks like. Fortuna Magnus comes to PS5.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Xbox and more. Samarian 6 comes to Xbox Series X and PS5. Athos comes to PC. Over the top, World War I comes to PC early access. The Bearer and the Last Flame comes to Xbox X and PlayStation 5 and PC. Heart of the Machine comes to PC. Then it's March 9th.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Age of Wonders 4, Rise from Ruyn, comes to Xbox PC and PlayStation 5. Blossoms, Seed of Life, comes to PC, and then we get to another large day, March 10th. The first one on the docket, Ghost of Yote Legends blessing, take it away. Firstly, Andy mentioned it during the break, but March 6th, Lost and Fountainco comes out.
Starting point is 00:36:07 We ain't got to talk about it, but you should check out how it looks. Just watch a trailer. The art style is very adorable. So cute. Ghost of Yote Legends, we got to have a real conversation. Who's playing this with me?
Starting point is 00:36:17 Are we doing this on stream? Like, what's the day going to look like? Are we marathoning? Like, what's the plan? Because we got to do something. We will do something. I'm putting down. We'll figure out something.
Starting point is 00:36:26 We will do something. I'm in. Andy's in. Put me in. Mike, you win? Put me in, coach. I've been in since day one. Come on. How many? How many people? Four? Two and four. Two for like the story missions, but then for like the big boss mission. Oh, okay, got you got it. All you need is two people. Yeah, but if we'd stream, you can maybe cut between two teams. Okay, okay, because I'd be interested in it because I've never played. Of course, I love Yo-Kee.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Yokeet was team beta, they're team alpha. They'll run the two player missions and then we'll meet for the four-player mission. You know, you're the Bayless. Come on. You want to be Team Contra? Blessing continue. I'm really excited about this, of course It's actually Charlie that's the scene I was like I don't want to I was trying to make it cooler for them I mean you know me
Starting point is 00:37:06 I love it. I mean it sounds way cool I was going to say like team sunset and team overdrive or something like that Sushima Legends is one of the big reasons why I adore that game and so Yote Legends is one I'm really exciting about I'm really excited about
Starting point is 00:37:17 if you're somebody who hasn't played legends or aren't super familiar right it's a fun way to play Gose's Yote together running through missions that are more fantastical and yeah they have them separated out by different modes. It's kind of a gear game. If it's following the thing of the first one, which it seems like it is, as we saw all through the overview trailer,
Starting point is 00:37:34 you're going to be playing as different classes, collecting gear for those classes to upgrade and level up. And they do a surprisingly good job of it. Like I'm still very impressed, and I think Ghost of Tsushima Legends is still fairly underrated as far as the amount of content that it brought. So I'm really excited here. If you're into something like a horde mode, which I believe they have here, the missions that they have here, and then an eventual raid, which I loved the Tsushima Legends raid. Can't wait for all of it. I think people are going to really dig this time
Starting point is 00:38:02 around. If there are moments where we have to all at each other run to the whatever spots so you don't get damaged right now. That's my shit. I just love that. And it's one of those it's one of those for sure. We run to the well of healing. Oh, fuck yeah. Also on March 10th, Rangers Path National Park Simulator, PC Early Access.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Mike would love to join you on Yotee, but he's got to play a simulator. I'll be playing this for sure. Unsealed, the mayor comes to PC. Then Mr. Sleepy Man comes to PC. Oh, I remember this. I highlighted this one. And Mr. Sleepy Man, you play as a sleepy guy who's up way past his bedtime and out of control. The citizens of bedtime town don't stand a chance. Make a mess of everything you find and turn the entire town against you. This is that weird as fuck game that I can't wait to try. This is one I'm fucking high on for sure.
Starting point is 00:38:49 It's got like a really like kind of Rugrats, uh, aesthetic mixed with, um, pizza tower. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I see that. Yeah, we saw this on the 6-1 indie. That's where it was. Showcase. It was charming as hell then, and it's still charming now. It just looks really cool and inspired.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Yeah, it kind of reminds me of Tinykin also, I think, just as far as, like, how inspired the art style of it looks. I get some, um, thank goodness you're here, vibes from you. Yeah, looking forward to that. Subnotica below zero comes to Android and iOS. That is right. I did have a banger theme song. I do remember.
Starting point is 00:39:24 I don't remember what it is, but we enjoyed it. We were seeing along the whole day. Sealed Gate comes to PC early access. Space Fleet, heat death comes to PC early access. Galactic Vault comes to PC. And Mike, skate season three arrives. One last ride. They're laying off members of the team.
Starting point is 00:39:40 They're pissing off the community lock in the fucking island behind the paywall. Are they really? Grom islands locked up. Yeah. There's a very complicated schedule on when you could get in for free if you wanted it. Yes, you have a small window to get it for free. You give money. You give money.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Okay. They might even be a rental system that they're trying to, work on it. That is true. That is true. With the rip chips, which you earn in games. So there you go. Yeah. It's crazy. It's crazy. I told you. I told you a game of the year. I'm like, I love skate and it won't be here probably in a year. They have full circle just laid people off yesterday. We need you to do a kick clip for us on camera. And I don't feel like that's you in here. We moved to March 11th. Piece by piece comes to PC. The liar princess and the blind prince comes to PC early access. Space Tales comes to PC early access. March 12th, another big day
Starting point is 00:40:26 for video games, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando comes to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth's core ends in a terrifying disaster. The release of the sludge god.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Mike, you stuck for this one? Yeah, I actually played the demo last night. First person shooter? Yeah, first person shooter, up to four players. Left for dead meets hell divers. But a little it's like, it's left for dead, but on a grander scale, I think it's like the maps in the zones feel like
Starting point is 00:40:58 L-divers with how much space. Definitely was giving World War Z vibes if you've ever played that with how many zombies or monsters are on the screen right here. Surprisingly, ran well, looked good. A little slow for a single-player experience but I think when you get your squad in here
Starting point is 00:41:14 if you're into PVE, Super Zombie Horde games, you're going to like this one. Hell yeah. I'm surprised you skid, though, were piece by piece. This seems like such a you-ass game or someone like like Joey Noel, who loves a little, like, you know, rebuild the house. Let's look back to piece by piece.
Starting point is 00:41:32 March 11th. It's time to open shop. Inherit your family's repair shop and roll up your sleeves. Fix up prize possessions of the forest folk. Paint yourself a masterpiece to sell and make your family shop all your own with decorations, furniture, and cookies. Art style is adorable. Can I see the trailer there?
Starting point is 00:41:49 This is cute as shit. Yeah, it looks like what. We're a little cute fox over here. A little cute fox. and you know you get like all right here's this little telescope let me paint it oh let me paint my room let me paint all sorts of cool stuff coming PC March 11 Switch
Starting point is 00:42:02 Q1 2026 according to this okay I'll check it out you sold me you got me well I think that was trailer getting ready to play here it is look at it is it's cute adorable yeah kind of get some moonlighter vibes there right as you run your own show yeah except there's no action you know I wouldn't need a dodge and a parry for the little fox but
Starting point is 00:42:20 well then just go play tunic all right what do you want to do hold on I'm adding piece by piece to my switch to my wish list. Again, like we've talked about before, everybody, remember these indie devs, all devs need your help. Go to open your steam, add it to your wish list, do that there, so that they understand that they got something hot
Starting point is 00:42:36 that you need to come see. Anyways, back to where we were, everybody. On March 12th, you're also getting Greedfall, the dying world, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The story starts three years before the events of the first game in the Adventures of Duce Gros. Worth
Starting point is 00:42:52 noting, I think I'm putting it here is more for the conversation, of course, yesterday, NACON, the publisher, filing for insolvency. And this game's still coming out, but they can't pay their debts right now. So an interesting one there. For a game that I know people are excited for, I have heard people chatting this one up and talking about it, but we'll have to wait and see if it actually goes anywhere.
Starting point is 00:43:13 After that, I have Fatal Frame 2, the Crimson Butterfly remake. Everything is coming to. The full remake of the second installment of the Fatal Frame Project Zero series, originally released in 2023. This Japanese-style horror adventure game follows twin sisters who become lost in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits
Starting point is 00:43:32 using the camera obscure a device that can capture and seal away the impossible and they fight the ghosts as the story unfolds. I loved Fatal Frame back in the day. I'm excited for this remake. Gotcha. Is that something, is it like required reading? Should I be playing this game?
Starting point is 00:43:45 Is somebody who's trying to go down? I think you, yeah, especially with how much you... Well, here's the thing. I can't speak to this remake, obviously. I'm hoping this remake will be good. great. You know what I mean? And I think that for you, if somebody's come on to horror games lately, especially off like Silent Hill and stuff, I think if they can nail that, yes, play this game. Okay. Because it's so fucking cool of like something's attacking. You've got to look through your viewfinder to find them and take their picture.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Okay. Very so. Might give this a chance. After that, we go through more March 12th games. 1348 Xvoto comes to PC and PS5. Solasta 2 comes to PC early access. then WWE 2K26 comes to everything. Roger, we sent you to WWEHQ to play it. What do you got to say? First thing is coming to everything, but not previous consoles. So it is, I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:44:34 That's awesome. Yeah, I believe this is a next-gen experience. Oh, great. They haven't been pushing that as much because I think the game is kind of the same as it was last year, right? The island's a lot more to find that. But it's, yeah, so I went there.
Starting point is 00:44:45 I was able to go to WW headquarters. I interviewed a bunch of wrestlers, some of those videos we showed on KFGD, some of them will go up live soon. But yeah, I had a great time there, and I played a little bit of the game. Honestly, the way that they set it all up wasn't conducive for me to be able to talk to the wrestlers
Starting point is 00:44:58 and play the game as much as I would like to. Sure. But from what I played, it's more WWE, and that's a good thing. I enjoyed my time with 2K25, especially when it came to Switch 2. The game runs like butter on the Switch 2, and I didn't play it at WW26 on the Switch 2,
Starting point is 00:45:13 but if it's anything like the last entry, I'm sure it's going to be great there. But yeah, they had added, a few match types. I quit matches, inferno matches, and dumpster matches. I played dumpster matches.
Starting point is 00:45:24 That was fun. Exactly what ambulance was. Yeah, right. I was really hard. Yeah, exactly. Inferno match, kind of disappointing. You just have to beat someone up
Starting point is 00:45:32 a bunch of times, and then the meter goes up, and then you throw them over. So it's like, whatever there. Interestingly enough, the showcase mode is CM Punk, which is cool.
Starting point is 00:45:41 I'm still a hater on the idea of showcase modes trying to get you to do objectives, especially when, in the very beginning of the showcase mode, they recreate Resum Media 41, which is CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins fighting together.
Starting point is 00:45:55 So it becomes kind of a mess. If you miss the one opportunity you had, and then you just have to redo it all. So that's there. They added a gauntlet mode there where you can fight basically all of the bosses of the showcase in one, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:07 to get all of the upgrades instead of having to redo all the showcase stuff. So that's a good quality of life stuff. I do wish that they would turn off the objectives for people like me. I talked to the developers about that. They said maybe one day,
Starting point is 00:46:17 eventually. But yeah, had a good time there. The game runs great. I think the physics are better this year. And it just feels like we're leveling up the best wrestling game, yeah, that we can ever have. So had a great time with it. And, yeah, it seems like Kit Wilson's entrance isn't there. So at least his music is there.
Starting point is 00:46:32 So that's where I've heard. So I'm very excited about that. So hell yeah. I'm going to play this one on the Switch, too, specifically. Yeah, I'm excited about this one. How do we feel about CM Punk as the showcase mode? I'm excited because, like, there's someone who's not a big CM Punk guy, right? I am excited to, like, see the history and, like, understand the, like,
Starting point is 00:46:48 like, oh, this is why he's one of the top guys. I'm straight edge and I'm better than you. Yeah, and like the Ring of Honor look, you know what I mean? Like him wrestling in, you know, garages looks awesome. I want the full type-upon. Because last year was WrestleMania. Yeah. It was all the wrestlers, right?
Starting point is 00:47:01 Or like spanning those. I thought that was really, really well done. I like the story moments or the story modes, whatever you want to call these. Well, no, last year was Roman Reins, right? Yeah, that was the Roman Reins. Yeah, I was the, yeah. I like those that they've done in sports games. We talk about it with MLB, the show all the time.
Starting point is 00:47:17 I really do love capturing the history and like making it playable and allowing people like me to learn about it. What about the island? Yes. Did they let you on the island? They did let me on the island. I did let me on the island. I went on the island. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:47:30 I don't even know what I'm looking for here, guys. I'm trying to find the difference. Apparently Roman rains is not the travel chief anymore. So he's gone. I don't know what the whole deal is. I was very confused. I needed you, Mike. I need you to show me what the difference is.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Back from the island. Thank you. How much money is going to end of the month. we'll have a conversation about the island. Put that in the sim. Put that in the sim conversation. Real quick one. This is,
Starting point is 00:47:50 I forget, I don't know if I've told you, Roger or anybody, but like this is a fun one for the audience, I think, to know why you love Kit Wilson. Even if you don't know, you love Kit Wilson.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Have you heard of my Kit Wilson story? No. Survivor series, Chicago. Okay. I was on the pre-show or whatever, and I was backstage just chilling with Xavier Woods,
Starting point is 00:48:07 as one does. And Kofi, like I always did. And they were playing tech and I was just shooting the shit with him, but I'm in the locker room doing that. And Kit Wilson walks in, And he, like, comes in and starts, like, coming right towards me.
Starting point is 00:48:18 I'm sitting in a chair. And I'm like, oh, fuck. Like, I'm in this dude's seat. You know what I mean? And so, like, he approaches and I get up. And he goes, no, I just wanted to say, hi, I grew up reading your reviews. No. And I was like, dude, you're the athletic man.
Starting point is 00:48:32 You're the adult, not me. I should have, you should have grown up listening to me. I was like, so sick. We talked about IGN for a while. Yeah, but he's a legit video game person out there. Fuck, yeah. Everybody get behind Kit Wilson because he's having a moment right now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:44 is my brother's favorite wrestler. Oh, wow. Okay. Our type tactics one and two Cosmos comes at Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and more. Then Road Out comes to PS5, Series X, PC, and more as well. I highlighted this one because it's a Greg game. Road Out is a story-driven adventure that combines top-down action
Starting point is 00:49:02 RPG elements with rubber-burning driving mechanics. Explore a vast post-apocalyptic world in your car, then battle your way through puzzle-filled dungeons on foot. With inspirations from the Legend of Zelda, the GTA and rock and roll racing rode out as a rich story full of surprises, missions, and rip-roaring races. Oh, I wasn't expecting it either, man, right?
Starting point is 00:49:22 If you're an audio listener, it's got like a pixel, pixel style to it and all this stuff, but really cool art, like, I'm interested in this for sure. I want to grab this one. From there, Dark Switch comes to PC. Rail, warped worlds and trouble times comes to everything pretty much. Timberborn comes to PC. Soltaria comes to PC. Bubblegum Galaxy comes to Switch, Xbox series XPS5, and more.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Collectors Cove comes to PC Switch and P6 Corner Shop Night Shift comes to PC One that I should have highlighted But I'll shout out real quick Is Rel Warped Worlds in Trouble Times That's a game coming out That's one of the ones you just read
Starting point is 00:49:56 The art style for this game is gorgeous The thing reads Rel Warped Worlds and Trouble Times Is a semi-open World puzzle adventure Where you play as a loud-mouthed hot-headed Mage trying to figure out Why Everybody Has Disappeared With 40 magical runes to combine
Starting point is 00:50:10 However you want Every challenge is an opportunity to create your own solution Oh, wow. Yeah, and as you can see, like, really, really cool looking game with really cool, like, 2D our style, even though you're exploring kind of a 3D world here. Love that. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:50:23 And then we move to March 13th. No, hold on. We have one more. I thought I said it. We have Fix Force. I didn't say that. Fix Force is, uh... Oh, we just talked about this in the last show.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Yeah, from Abu Bakar Salim. Abu's new game that he's been working on. So I just got announced today. I'm not, I'm not bad. Okay. Um, yeah, this is one of them, you know, hang beast slash friend slop games but I love the idea of
Starting point is 00:50:48 kind of having one of these games mixed in with gravity controls. I just love like a you know, thinking back to playing any of the Valve games, you know, I just kind of love that as a mechanic and to have that with friends and kind of creating bridges from pieces of wood and things like that. I don't know, it just seems really,
Starting point is 00:51:07 really neat. And a neat mechanic to add on to a genre that's already kind of popping off on it. I want to shout out the studio. Like the variety in their games is kind of insane when you talk about their first thing being a Metroidvania within African mythology. Their second game being dead take, this first person, like horror walking some FM, yeah, with FMV cutscenes, which I mean Bear played and absolutely loved.
Starting point is 00:51:30 And to come around here where they are making this multiplayer co-op friend-like type game, really, really cool to see them shift and navigate these, and continue to explore these different types of game styles. 100%. Then we moved to March 3rd. 13th. I'm sorry, Andy. And this one's led off by Monster Hunter Stories 3, twisted reflections. You're stoked about this.
Starting point is 00:51:50 I, well, I've cooled a bit on it, right? So this is coming to PlayStation Switch, Xbox, PC. The demo came out, and I had been, I had just finished Dragon Quest 7, reimagined. I had started up Dragon Quest 11 and then, the Elusive Age, or whatever, the definitive edition, and then this demo
Starting point is 00:52:06 dropped and I jumped in. And as I'm jumping through all these turn-based slash JRPs, I'm trying to find that right one that fits all the things. And for stories three from what I played off that demo, love the art style, love the VO, love the world they're building.
Starting point is 00:52:22 But their battle was just a bit more I don't want to say intense or cumbersome, but it's got like a whole rock paper scissors thing of like this they're attacking you with green so you should use blue, but then there's also underneath that moves you need to do. And then
Starting point is 00:52:37 you've got a monster and you need to have it. It's like a monster, I apologize. It's always like dang like Dragon Quest 11 I was enjoying because it was clearly just an evolution of Dragon Quest, which in Dragon Quest 7 was like so simple in a good way. And this Dragon Quest 11 was giving me more to do with that simple mechanics. And then this one was like, oh, you're demanding more of my attention in the battle system. And over here, somebody I can't read the name, Sensa, says they like the battle system.
Starting point is 00:53:03 I'm not saying it's a bad battle system. I'm just saying for what flavor of ice cream I was eating, I wasn't ready to jump to this mashed potato taste. You know what I mean? That sounds bad. Is this the series with cocoa? this is Coco. Okay. Somebody help Coco.
Starting point is 00:53:15 That's Coco. Were you able to save Coco? Well, again, the demo, I haven't. So back to it. He dies in the demo. I was enjoying the demo, but I kind of petered out on it. Where I was like, I don't know if this is it. So it actually kind of pushed me a little bit away.
Starting point is 00:53:29 So I don't know. It's not high on my list right now, but it's because Pocopi is coming up. There's a million things to play. There's a lot going on. But hopefully, when it gets there, it'll hit at the right time, and I'll be all about it. And then mining merchant also comes to PC on March 13th. March 15th, sorry. sees Auterios come out to PC.
Starting point is 00:53:46 March 16th has the Seven Deadly Sins origin on PC and PS5. Starship Troopers, ultimate bug war on Xbox Series X, PC, PC, PS5 and more, and then deadline delivery on PC. March 17th has volunteered the ascension on PC Early Access, and then MLB the show, 26, coming to Switch PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X. Barrett, Mike, I assume you're stoked. Barrett, the Bass Bros, you know we're stoked. which we're always excited to jump back in for another season of baseball.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Of course, spring training is going to be coming in full effect here in just a moment. Always great to come back. You see college is a big deal, right? We kind of touched on college last year when I was playing, adding some of the teams in. I remember Tennessee, Florida, and a couple other schools. But, I mean, we are back with the best baseball sim there is, really one of the only baseball sim. So they have the market. They have done a great job, though.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Storylines I always tell you about. how great that team has done, highlighting that. Of course, the gameplay is always fantastic. They continue to iterate and change what they want to do inside of Diamond Dynasty and how they can keep players engaged in playing throughout the entire year. They added that roguelike experience last time. So it'll be interesting to see what they add this time. Blessings about to get into baseball.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I see it on his face. I don't remember if I actually played any of the show last year. and I'm struggling to get into the mental mood for picking this up, but we'll see if that changes in the next couple of weeks. But yeah, it's the show. Continues to be, you know, the place to play baseball in the video game realm. Can you scroll back like maybe 10 seconds? There's a shot where it's like Griffey and all these people at like a Hall of Fame
Starting point is 00:55:34 kind of like award ceremony. Everybody's in suits and ties. It was, this shit was getting roasted on social media. but like, yeah, this looks awful. Why does, why does this game look so terrible
Starting point is 00:55:47 after so many years in like time? Well, I mean, it's the traditional reason, right? This is what they're focused on trying to make look good, the actual action in the baseball.
Starting point is 00:55:55 And so anytime you take any of these sports games, you're like, now just do something basic, having them in suits. Like, well, you think this looks bad. Watch the WWE 2K
Starting point is 00:56:03 behind the scenes talking to Paul Hammond. It's like, Jesus Christ, yeah. Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club comes to Switch 2 on March 17th. Elemental Reforged on PC Whispers of the Ilus on PC March 18th
Starting point is 00:56:17 See Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun come to Switch 2 Mike that was that one you liked a lot That turned out for like a decade Yeah layer land comes to PC And then Dig Dig Drill comes to Switch And then March 19th PlayStation 5
Starting point is 00:56:33 Xbox Series X and PC Crimson motherfucking Desert comes out You have all been super chatting your balls off about it. JJ baseball upgraded to a 5070 for Crimson Desert. It's the only thing I want to play, which is a real problem since it doesn't come out for like 30, three weeks.
Starting point is 00:56:52 Then soft lips Chris, another great username. As a Twitch and peep, this is my first super chat. I'm stoked for Crimson Desert, but apprehensive with how ambitious it is. And Andy, I'm eating a Greek salad.
Starting point is 00:57:05 Nice. Softlobs Chris always lets me know what they're eating. I like that. I appreciate that a lot too. I'm trying to thought I had another one here. but yeah, there's a whole bunch. Gentlemen, it's happening. Crimson Desert is happening in like 22 days now.
Starting point is 00:57:19 I can't wait. I want to know. From what I played at that demo, I was like, this could be great. It could be mid, but I think the longer I played it, the more I was like, I'm having a really fun time.
Starting point is 00:57:28 And then you watch this shit. And like we talked about on Games Daily today, Pearl Abyss, you know, turning down PlayStation for a publishing deal back in the day. They believe in this. They believe in what they're doing, and I want to believe in that.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Yeah, this is a clear of my schedule situation. Like I want to give this one the time and space to dive deep into it because the more we see, the more ridiculous and unbelievable it looks, but also they're showing off so much that it's like, well, it's not like you guys are hiding anything here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right? Like, it's not like you guys, it's not like it's, we have many questions. Like, they're showing us what the game is. It just looks so ridiculous. So I'm excited to jump into it. My hope is that it is one of those, these is as lofty as I say it right, but like an Eldon Ring, a breath of the wild, one of those open worlds that it is, just get lost. and take it how it is and like, you know, use all the systems to solve the puzzles, get into the combat. Hopefully it's fun to play. Like I'm really excited to see what this delivers as far as being this massive open world game. Yeah, previews were super glowing about it.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Everybody who went to that preview event, this is one that I implore anybody to watch the last three videos that Prolubis released on, I don't know if they did it on their own YouTube channel, but it's definitely on PlayStation's YouTube channel. And it's the last three where it's like the first one is, here's the world of Crimson Desert. And then another one is here's what you'll be doing. And another one is like some other kind of deep dive. They're about 15 minutes each. But like you see what's on display here.
Starting point is 00:58:54 And the word from this event coming is that like it runs amazingly on console. And that, you know, even when I played it on PC back during Pax West last year, was stunned that it looked as good as it did and ran. super incredibly well and was getting some frame rate jobs here but it's like this was not a framy disaster like I was expecting because everything is so optimized and it's their proprietary engine and they are not using all of these outside programs and third party plugins to generate trees or to do physics it's all just in their their proprietary engine so that's why they're able to pull off this sort of engineering wizardry and yeah It seems like they're super confident about it,
Starting point is 00:59:42 and it really does feel like this is going to be a massive hit this year. Hopefully, man. Your, you know, your words to God's ears out there because, yeah, I can't wait. I really hope it nails it. March 19th, also sees death straining two on the beach come to PC. And then, of course, oh, thank you very much for dropping this in. I forgot about this. It had been updated.
Starting point is 01:00:02 We had mouse PI for hire, but that has been delayed to April. No one look at it. Don't look at it, Raj. Dragon Kin the Banished is also on March 19th game Xbox X PC PS5 Rushing Beat X the return of Brawl Brothers Switch 2 and PC Stone Guard comes to PC early access
Starting point is 01:00:21 March 20th Ghost Master resurrection comes to PC Switch PS5 and more Rubato comes to switch PS5 PC I played the demo Yeah yeah yeah fucking shit fuck stop You got yeah you guys reacted to this on KFGD was one of the trailer that I put in there Which is like insane it looks like the million
Starting point is 01:00:38 this game. Yeah, this game. I thought the demo wasn't, like, terribly impressed with the way that it feels. I like the art style. I like how they're going insane with it. I also didn't love the writing in the beginning. It just felt a little bit like not X-U-Rar random, but it just didn't hit for me, right? It wasn't making me laugh as
Starting point is 01:00:54 much as it should be. I like looking at this game more than I like playing it, but I'm gonna check it out, see if, you know, pass the demo if it actually changes, but it's a cool trailer and it looks kind of neat. March 20th also sees coffee talk come to Android and iOS. A game I enjoyed back on Vita back in the day.
Starting point is 01:01:09 The 22nd has remnants of your PC early access. The 23rd has Seven Deadly Sins origin, iOS and Android. 24th has Ariana and the Elder Codex on Switch PS5 and PS4. And then March 25th sees Damon and Baby. Oh yeah. I don't
Starting point is 01:01:26 know what this is. Why are y'all popping off for this? This is being published by Arc System Works. Two different reason. The name is hilarious. But this is, yeah, one that's being published by Art System Works. I don't even know how to describe this game because it's a, it gives almost like double A to indie vibes, but it is a top down, also side scrolling, like beat them up slash like has, God, as I'm saying these things are happening on screen, shoot them up vibes to it, right? Like, reminds you a death store. It's doing a, oh, I can see the death store comparison, but he's doing a lot of different things.
Starting point is 01:02:00 You're basically playing as a big guy that's taken care of like a little baby. that's a little baby. The baby's name is Damon. You're the baby, actually. It's one of those flips out on its head, yeah. Yeah, but it's a game that looks crazy. He's doing all these different things. But for me, it was seeing this in the Arc System Works showcase that they did last year.
Starting point is 01:02:17 They closed on this game. Oh, yeah. There was like a popable excitement coming out from Arc System Works. And they were talking about how the games industry is really tough right now for publishing bigger AAA titles. And they presented this as a thing that they wanted to explore more as far as smaller games are doing weird things that are experimental. Hell yeah. Damon and Baby was the kind of the
Starting point is 01:02:40 child of that idea. Well, Joey's about to walk on. Did Joey, you play Damon and Baby? No, don't worry about it. I'm hosting the show. We're going to be fucked, dude. Come on. God damn it. I'm adding Damon and Baby to my wish list right now. Oh yeah. That one looks dope. But next on the 25th is Disney
Starting point is 01:02:55 Dreamlight Valley. Please welcome Joey Noel. It's me. Disney Dreamline Valley comes to a switch to a switch to edition of this on March 25th. Joey, I'm constantly getting you Disney Dreamlike Valley codes and we're always like, oh, well, we'll have you come on and talk about that sometime. Tell me about Disney Dreamline Valley. It's one of the ones that I go back to quite frequently, as we all know, we talked about, or you guys were talking about the Sim games and stuff like that. It is one of my favorites.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Obviously, I'm a big Disney person. I like the Disney movies. They do a really good job of tying in existing characters that we like and new things from the new movies in. So it's always really fun to see what kind of like battle pass with new cosmetic items. The amount of like things that I spend money on this game. Yeah. Oh, the mic try. You're doing a mic thing. Because you can buy like skins for your house and all these outfits. You also get a lot from the battle pass and they do a really good job of balancing like how much currency you get to buy stuff. It is shocking how well they've supported this game. Um, to keep adding new expansions and new areas. I do get a little bit hazy on the story because they're kind of like adding things but it's i think one of the
Starting point is 01:04:09 like really best well supported ongoing sim games i feel like we get really used to uh games dropping and that's kind of it our complete with animal crossing right animal crossing for sure sat out tina nerva loves this one joe yeah it's this is like absolute a dream for anybody that loves disney and it's a natural fit obviously for sim games Yeah, Joey, thank you so much. No problem. Joey did that with no prep, by the way. I was like, oh, fuck, I meant to tell you ahead of time.
Starting point is 01:04:38 I needed you for this. Come on her. Then your final 25th game is room battle on PC. Then we move to March 26. Another humongous day for games. And we start with Screamer, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XPC. Blessing hasn't you shut up about this. March 26 is about to be a different kind of day.
Starting point is 01:04:54 Because, like, yeah, Screamer is coming out. And that's a game that I, yeah, I won't stop piping up. It is a racing game with a story and anime cutscenes and a little. looks fun and it looks ridiculous and I'm a big fan of a fast-paced arcade racer, whether it be something like burnout or even something like Forza Horizon series that we love very much. But yeah, this game. That guy looks like the bad guy from Gundam. That's my thing is like the character designs in this game looks so good, looks so cool.
Starting point is 01:05:19 And when you see the cutscenes and you see like, oh shit, it seems like they're trying to tell a story with drama and stakes and things going on here. But then the game plays is pure racing. I love that idea. And this is coming from a developer that has made racing games in the past. I think mostly semi-type racers. And so I love seeing this dev kind of stretch and try something that's a bit more stylish, a bit more, like, fun as far as vibe.
Starting point is 01:05:40 And yeah, this is one I cannot wait for. Shout out to the homie Alex Lee, who I think is one of the main characters here. I believe Troy Baker is in this. Oh, yeah. You just like, honestly, if you just have a rival in a game or like just rivals talking shit to you, yeah, that's all I need. Whenever I talk about how much I, you know, love the marketing. golf and Mario tennis games on Game Boy.
Starting point is 01:06:03 It's just all about that one dude walking up to you, you know, fucking, you know, put it all in the line, kid, like that sort of shit. It's like, fuck yeah. Get me in there, dude. So the developer is milestone, right? And like, I want to shout out to, like, streamer is the return of a very, not very old, but an older racing franchise from like nine, from the 90s for DOS, right? But you go through.
Starting point is 01:06:23 And Milestone, they have made so many racing games, whether it be ride, whether it be MotoG, whether it be SBK, Hot Wheels Unleashed. they worked on. They have a storied pass of making a lot of different racing games. And so I love to see them working on something that looks this crazy, this quote-unquote high-octane marketing. Really cool. Also on March 26th, Life is Strange Reunion.
Starting point is 01:06:47 Everything, right? And we're in. We don't know, but we're in. Did you guys see the previews for this? No. I was reading one preview from the other day that seemed kind of positive. I don't believe this because here's the thing. We forget.
Starting point is 01:06:59 We played. We played the first, what was it, three episodes, four episodes, whatever it was before. We were all so high on it. We were like, oh my gosh, it's awesome. You just can't fuck up the last two episodes and then they just crashed and burned, right? Like, I'm sure that the beginning is pretty solid, but like, I just don't have any trust in them actually being able to land the plan. Especially when we have to do with Chloe. It's like such a, it's such a tricky subject, especially when it comes to the audience, man.
Starting point is 01:07:22 I'm still there. I'm still there. I love that. Really? You guys are excited for this? Not excited, but I'm, well, yeah, you know. Yeah. It's like, this is how I feel like when you're, a movie you liked a lot, just keeps making
Starting point is 01:07:34 sequels. I'm gonna go see it. It's like, yeah, the MCU where you're like, maybe I'll give this one a shot. The tough thing is, yeah, it's kind of like, The Marvel's was great. I'm more in like this screen category. Oh, okay. Okay. My expectations are not high.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Yeah. See, my thing is like, it's fast and furious in the way that I'll continue to watch the Fast and Furious movies, but they've declined so much. I think it's because I'm there for it. I live with Leanza who's like, this is like her soul, right? Like, Lef and Strange is so personal to her. and then I've never seen her more destroyed after the finale of double exposure, right? The tough thing is you think of the heights of Life is Strange and you think about how good Life Strange can be.
Starting point is 01:08:05 And I'm not somebody who played Life Strange 2. Sure. And I want to someday. But like when I hear people who talk about Life of Strange 2, they're like, no one to did this. And politically, like, it's like, wow, this is quality. And I think to true colors. And I'm like, yeah, that was a fucking good ass story in true colors. And now it is, we've gotten, we come around to where it is.
Starting point is 01:08:22 All right, now give them the Chloe and Maxlop. Yep. And I'm like, man, I'm mad. We've marvelized this. We've marvelized this in a way where I'm like, I've seen the heights and we're not there, but you're giving me characters that I do have this nostalgia for, and so I'm still going to tune in. Yeah, I just can't separate my negativity of everything that happened last time and also my sadness of like, you know this is going to be the last one.
Starting point is 01:08:43 You know, you know there's no way they're turning around. You know there's no way that deck nine. This is going to be deck nine's last one, but Square addicts is going to make more life of strange games. Not for a while. I feel like they're like, this is squirt's earth for a while. I, my, my fucking weird timeline prediction. Yeah. If we're in the weirdest timeline is that it goes back to the original developer. Oh, wow, Donut.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Oh, we get it back to Donut? Yeah, because what's the like, Don't Not? I feel like they're searching for their next narrative. Yeah, and they tried it with Lost Records and that was not right. Yeah, Lost Records wasn't good. Like, hey, this is the perfect time to be like, yo, deck nine, they're out long for this world. Square Inix, we want to make another one. Let's go back to the originals and have Don'ton make another one again.
Starting point is 01:09:19 And we had it all and then we lost it. Also on March 26th is Super Marr. Mario Wonder Nintendo Switch 2 edition plus meet up at Bellabell Park. Hell yeah. I got to check out Bellable Park. I'm sure I've talked about it already multiple times. Bellable Park has a lot of cool multiplayer content for Mario Wonder. I talked about it with Logan Plant for my gin in the Poca Pocopoeia preview episode.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Pokopo Pocopoeia preview episode. And so if you want to hear more of my thoughts there, and Logan's thoughts, we're a little bit opposed. Like I enjoyed the multiplayer content a lot here. Logan wasn't as into it. I think Logan was more desiring, more serious. single player stuff, right? But I think this is going to make for a really good party mode. You made a lot of comparisons to Pico Park.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Yeah, as far as the weird different co-op challenges they had, one of the ones we did was you had a couple of players playing with the JoyCon and mouse mode drawing, you know the donut platforms in Mario where like it would fall after a while? The mouse players would draw the donut platforms on the screen while the platforming players would have to like use those to then get to the end of the level and collect the coins or whatever. Fun, unique stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:10:25 There was another one that's basically Hot Potato where you're carrying a bomb and the ba-bam would essentially say the name of a character. So it would be like, peach and you'd have to throw the bomb on peach before the time runs out. And then, like, you would be like Mario
Starting point is 01:10:35 and you'd have to do that and get to the end of the level before it explodes. Fun different challenges like that that I think are going to make for a fun co-op play experience and then some competitive stuff in there as well. Can you imagine if Nintendo buckled down
Starting point is 01:10:46 and made a Mario and Luigi Haze-like. Wow. Oh, my God. Wow. Don't even. That would be really cool for this. Ben and I love. playing Mario Wonder, but he usually
Starting point is 01:10:55 gets frustrated because only the nabits are the ones who can't die in this time. They give it to everybody where you can go everybody's going to be able to play this and not die. So he's looking forward to that. At least I am. And then also a game I'm looking forward to that I didn't learn about until here. Opus, Prism Peak.
