I declared that I was going to be evil for 2026 for my Fantasy Critic League team because I discovered from my loss last year that only evil wins. That's what I learned from Mike beating me in Fantasy Critic last year. We're cheating. And to my haters out there,

I hear on the streets that, you know, it really just seems like Barrett's just living his normal life and just, you know, tagging the word evil next to it. it, you know. To them, I say, you're right. You're right. I haven't really been doing much. You know, and honestly, it's one of those things. I don't feel like my heart has been fully into the evil tag. So it's like, I just, I don't know. I'm thinking about dropping the whole evil bit. Let's be real. Good Barrett. Maybe just normal Barrett, who knows, you know? And like, I'll be real.

Like, the reason I interrupted the show was actually not to do anything evil. And I'll actually, like, bring myself down. I just thought it would be fun to interrupt in a very bombastic way. For now, let's begin with topic of the show. Tots, tuts, dots, dots, dots, dots, tots, tots. Today's topic, of course, if you haven't caught wind of it yet, it is the fantasy critic check-in. Of course, at the top of the year, we do a draft where we each form a publisher. We draft games that are coming out over the course of the year to that publisher, and whichever team has the highest cumulative metacritic scores, or not metacritic, open critic, the other critic aggregator, wins the fantasy critic. Here's what I'll say.

I want to say two things to start this off. One, I don't like how good Ben Star looks. you're at home. Why are you that good looking and you're at home? You know what I mean? Like he just wakes up like hair should be disheveled. So handsome. We're wearing a nice sweater. It's a really handsome man. And two, damn, that's crazy. Put Nick Scarpino, Radder, Ben Star. That's tough to follow up. It's a rough one. That's kind of rough. Nick would say that to you. That Pepsi Coke challenge was like a Coke fucking oil challenge. Now this is what I want. Of course, Super Chat in.

I want to know who you think is taking it home. We're going to go through each of the rosters on our Fainty Critic, talk about them, break them down, see where we're at. Let us know in the Super Chats, who do you think based off of the rosters currently is going to take it home? Before we get into it, get into it. I want to talk about some history, all right? There's a little history tab that'll tell you what have been the latest moves. what's been happening in the fancied critic. I want to take you back to the week. Let's take you back to the week of February 28th. I think that's, I want to say, My birthday month. Oh, happy, happy birthday. Thank you.

Happy late birthday. I want to say that was like after our last week of checking, because I feel like I talked about Densha Tech. Densha Tech was like one of my latest big pickups, and that was on the week of February 21st. So let's hop forward one week. February 28th, 2026, Barrett in parentheses evil

picked up a game called Rack coin Pusher Rogue-like Now we don't need to talk about how much it's spent on that Barrett bid $40 on Rack coin There are no competing bids

Sometimes you gotta lock it in Sometimes you look at how much money Does Roger have left Put your money where you're not When you look at a game like Rack coin You're like that might send off some synapses in Roger's brain that he might bid for that You could see other people's money.

Yeah, of course. Yeah. Oh, yeah. You can see how much money they have left. So, you know, maybe. It's at the top of the page. I put a little too much weight on like how crazy Rogers going to get and then not at all with a game. But again, that's a part of, you know, it's a part of being evil.

Was this after Lucy's preview? Like, why did you bid for Rack coin? We had talked about it on one of those, like, every game coming out in the following month. And people had played like demos of Rackcoin and were like really high. on it, really talking about like, hey, it's hitting those like Bellatro kind of things in people's brain. And I was like, oh, damn, and it's published by PlaySec, which also published Palatro, the, uh, what are those, uh, detective

puzzle games that we like, bless. Case of Golden Idol. Case of Golden Idol and all that. And I was like, this might have the sauce. Now, did that pay out? Uh, we'll talk about that later. Stunning lack of raccoons, people said. Oh.

In the reviews, yeah. That's unfortunate. Let's hop forward to the week of March 14. quite a few things happened this day Ecto 1 games aka Greg Miller bid for a game called Echoes of Eyncrad

What the fuck is that? I have no idea We're gonna have to look into this He bid $5 on it He was able to pick it up Because he had no competing bids for it This says the projected points For this 94

What is We'll get into that in a second Maybe we'll get to that when we go over Greg's thing But echoes of Eincrad I'm not familiar with that game Bandai Namco game. Okay, okay.

Well, anime one, Mike? I think you can probably guess what it is, yeah. Okay. That same week, Barrett, in parentheses, evil, bid for a game called Titanium Court. Before we even get to that, he also knows the award winner, that one thing that always wins awards. What's that one? Philatra?

No, like, whenever there's like a, at the, at GDC. The McNeely, what's it called? Yeah, Seamus McNally Award. But I think I was the latest Seamus McDally because I picked up, um, Oh, what game fucked me? It was the game that was about, like, being ugly. It was, like, the girl who, like, saw... Consume me.

Consume me. I picked up Consume me last year. And let me tell you, that didn't consume that many points. In my case, as a critic. But, Bear, you wanted to point out. Yeah, before we even got to mine, you know, another bid went through as well. Yes, Paris bid on Call of Duty, 2026. We'll get it up.

Bid $5 for it. Paris, what caused you to go for this one? This is supposed to be the year for Call of Duty. This is supposed to be the rumored, what it was, it was, modern warfare for, kind of a return to form. So, you know, taking a little bit of risk, low cost risk. I love we say that every year.

It's always a return. This is the year. Man, I'm here. It's like July. Man, this is the year. Call of Duty is back. Yeah, this is the year. They're going to take it back to basics.

It's a return of form. I figure for five bucks, why not? That's why I only did five bucks. Take a shot. I like that. What was the last call of duty game? Was that Black Off Seven? Black Off Seven.

Seven. Seven was the good one. Six was the good. Yeah, yeah. Seven was that good. Seven felt like a DLC. Yeah, if I'm looking at the track record, seven did 65 on Open Critic.

Six, hold on, I just typed in seven. Six, I'm going to guess in 83. Six was high. Six was one of their best. Six. Eighty three. in our Metacritic game for Game Showdown, you would have got double the points there.

That's crazy. Okay, so, Paris, do you think we're back to an 83 this year? Do you think it's another Black Op 6 type moment? Yeah, that's my thought. I think it's going to be in the 80s, and fingers crossed, so we'll see. But what the hell? You know, if it's not, I'll drop it in June when they show it. Why not?

So we're saying modern warfare this year? Is that we're back to? That's the rumor. Is this Infinity Ward? I think so. Yes, because Raven does war zone. Right, okay. Yeah.

All right, and we're back to Barrett. Barrett, Evil, picked up Titanium Court. You bid, wait, you bid 40 bucks on titanium court? Bear, where are you getting all this money from? Again, well, I, most of my team was filled up with only 90 bucks. So there was one weekend, like, if we go back even further, I'm pretty sure that was even, like, way earlier. There was one week, I think I, yeah. I bid for the unannounced Legend of Zelda

Ocourine of Time remake with a bit of $2. Okay. The God of War Greek project with a bit of $2. And I think another week I had drafted the Black Flag unannounced at the time Black Flag remake for only $2 as well. So I still had a good amount of money with most of my team filled.

Bear, bring up some gameplay of Titanium core because I want to know what you see in this, but this is crazy. $40, you're like, Bear's usually in the know. It's the same is with Malie one. Yeah. It won this year.

Oh, it won this year. won this year. Yeah, a lot of people when I was hanging out, I bid it the week of GDC because a lot of people were just like, I didn't even like know that it won the award, but people were just talking about like, oh, this titanium court thing is, looks fucking

awesome. It's like a match three with like, uh, silly roglyde, got a good comedy. Yeah, and it's like also presented as like a theater play thing, but it's also got like really silly and funny writing. Like, I think that's going to be one that hits. That man, this is my wish list. Yeah, the Steam description is very short.

This is a surreal strategy game for clowns and criminals. Welcome to Titanium Court. Table for one. You have a reservation, I assume. You don't. I see. Just minding your own business before stumbling into a realm of magic and fairies, were you? Not to worry.

Happens all the time. Tell you what, why don't I see if we can squeeze you in somewhere while you become acquainted with many amenities offered by the court? They got a quirky energy here to the page. Yep. Which I like. And again,

when you look at, you know, how much Roger has in his bank account, and you're thinking, like, man, I got more. money than that. Maybe I outbid him. Because I don't know what he's hearing on the streets. I know he's out. You're good for him. What's going on? Bears leg trick and Birdman. That's what best. That's what I've learned for Mike. Like best friends put their best friends down.

I do that against Roger all the time. That's why we're insider trading with one another. Nobody knows that yet. But we will be trading teams. I'm going to ask you, well, you're trading teams. We'll be trading games. The goal is to make sure Rogers champion this year. And so I'll be trading Mike. You're not allowed to do it. You're going to trade him. Trains are allowed.

is against the spirit of the game. Yeah. Well, yeah, I mean, you have to pick up the phone to call

2026. Only one game was picked up this week. It was from Ecto one games, aka Greg Miller. in that game, Minecraft Dungeons, too. He bid $6 for it. We think that's a good one?

Good game. What did Minecraft Dungeons do? That's what I want to know. Yeah, I don't think it's... Yeah, okay, yeah, I didn't think it was in the 80s. I think it's in the 70s. I liked it, but I think it's a 70 score. Open Critics says Minecraft Dungeon, 74.

Damn. Yeah, yeah. Lessons learned. They're going to get better. I mean, yeah, I don't think they put out Minecraft Dungeons and it does worse, right? Yeah, but I don't think... I don't think it goes like high 80s here. I think that's 82 or below.

Well then. Solid points. That's a 270 hitter right there, Mike. Yeah, but we made the rule. If you want to win, it's got to be 15 or above. And then we, which I got beef with for one of my picks, but I'll get there later.

We hop forward to the week of March 28th this last week and one game was picked up by Ecto 1 games, aka Greg Miller. That game, Kamadachi life. He's active. Living the dream.

He spent 15, bucks on it. I think that's a good pick. Again, I don't think it's going to be like in 90s, anything like that of course, but play that demo, it's a good demo. This game's going to be a fun one. I think it's going to be a hit. It's going to hit with that certain crowd for sure.

Yes. The people playing it know what they, the people playing and reviewing it, like, are like, it's in good company, you know? 100%. So this is where we go roster by roster, break down what people have in their teams.

Let's go from the bottom up, all right? And we're going to go by actual points, which is different from projected points. Of course, projected is what the system thinks are going to land at at the end of the year, which right now I'm projected last. Paris, oh, right now Paris, for actual points, is going to be projected last if we go by the points

people have right now. So, Paris, break down your team for us right now. Here, it's tiny on my screen. Let me bring it up on my screen so I can see. Yeah, so I took Batman, which I realize in hindsight isn't the highest of scores, but it's a fun. I think the Lego Batman's going to be a fun-ass game, so we'll see.

Should we start off with like the game that gave you points? Just so people like right off the top, here's what gave me points, and then we'll, and then the rest of the roster. Okay. Well, we're doing that. I did High on Life 2, which only got a 73. I'm surprised. I thought that was going to be a little higher.

on that. I enjoyed the first one, so that was a strikeout. And that's the only game I have points on so far. I'm pretty backloaded for everything else coming out the rest of the year. So we'll see. But like I said, Lego Batman. I mean, I think it'll do decent, but maybe not as highs

I was expecting. I have a lot of faith and control resonant. I think that's going to be that's going to be a big kid for you, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Let me predict right now. Let me predict right now for you right here, Paris. 88. I was going to say 90. Yeah, yeah. I think I think high 80s could sneak into the 90s.

That's where I think it'll be. Geer Z-Day, some opium. I mean, obviously Microsoft is going to make a big deal out of it. Xbox. We'll make a big deal out of it. How does it score? How does the story the campaign work? We'll see. But I think mid-80s around there somewhere.

What are the cheats is? I know it's at the end of the dev direct, which means it's probably going to come out this year. Do you think it comes out this year, Geerzee Day? I do. I think Mike's the one that's in trouble. We'll get to that later. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The four horsemen here might become the three horses. One of the horse broke a leg.

One of the one might be 2027. Dust Bloods, you know, I took a swing. We'll see. I mean, that one might not score as much as I wanted to. Do we see that this summer? I think so. Do we see Dust Bloods this summer at a Jeff Keely event? I think so.

Yes, because it'll come out before the end of the year. Yeah. It will be this year, you think? Yeah. I mean, that's what all of their. sort of internal their investor calls are. I don't know if it'll be a

Jeff's thing, but like a Nintendo direct, I could see. And then Blood of the Dawn Walker, I'm taking a leap of faith. I like what I've seen so far from it. Former CD Project Red Devs making that that vampire RPG, open world RPG. So we'll see on that

as well. And then we already talked about Call the Duty and I have some open slots, which I'm kind of waiting to see what gets announced in June and with hopefully, you know, and plus I got a ton of money. So I think I'll make some late game pickups. So we'll see. Yeah, the positive for Paris here is a lot of people have filled up their team or have gotten

to the point where they don't have much room. But Paris has a lot of space here to maybe grab some games that are second half announced, second half facing that a lot of us have not. I'm surprised with how many people kind of filled up their team similar to me. Yeah. Is that how you essentially won last year? Isn't that how you won last year? Mike, you got a lot of late pickups, right?

Yes, exactly. Yeah. Yes. I'm because I listened to the audience. The strategy with Fancy Critic, I think, is to wait. And I think that we suck at it because we get so excited. You know what I mean? We see potential win a game.

Like, that's me with Dencha Attack, where I played the demo and I was like, this is fucking awesome. And I merely bid for it. But then, like, in the summer, fucking, I don't know, like, they're going to announce Astrobot 2 or something. And I'm like, ah, damn it. You know what I mean? Like, I think that tends to bite us in the ass a lot more.

than we tend to remember year to year. All right. Coming in at seventh place with actual points, that's the points we have currently, is Sad Boy Barrett. Barrett. Hello. Break down your squad for us.

Yeah, so the things that have come out so far this year, we have God of War, sons of Sparta, which lost me points, lost me points. But we'll circle back around to that later and talk about how I'll, take that trade on getting hit with points. But then the next thing that just came out was rack coin, coin pusher,

rogue like, which yeah, that $40 bid, uh, maybe did not pay off as much as I was hoping for it because that only got me 10 points. Uh, I was, I was really thinking that this was going to be like another indie game moment,

uh, with like, doing, like trying to do coin pusher role, uh, gameplay with like a roguelike system, which it does seem to be hitting for a lot of people. But,

uh, right now it's, uh, doesn't have a lot of reviews. It's a lot of like indie sites right now So kind of a mixed bag for for some people So that puts me at a total Net positive of six points

Looks like YouTube is down right now YouTube is down, oh Yeah, I know this happened during KJD for a second too Oh really? Yeah So they'll come back Interesting I don't see anything on my end But we will

Here as you're looking into that I'll talk about some of these other games Because your full list You have your full team filled out here. Going from top to bottom, you got Marvel's Wolverine, Hollow Night Silk Song Sea of Sorrow, Phantom Blade Zero, Mouse P.I. for hire, which has been counterpicked. Pragmatah, Assassin's Creed, Black Flag, Resynced. God of Wars and Sparta, which you talked about.

You have unannounced The Legend of Zelda Ocarina remake, which is really interesting. And then, yeah, you have Raccoin and titanium court. They're back. Everybody's back. I did not see anything on my end, so it might seem like a YouTube issue today, which will be fun. So yeah, to go back to God of War Sons of Sparta, which, yeah, I think I had to have picked up before I was announced before I was announced before I had to have picked up before I was announced before I had to pick up before I think if you asked any of us of like, oh, a Metroidvania God of War game like hell yeah, that's got a hit, right? And then it gets announced. It's being made by a team that's not within Sony Santa Monica, which I guess I, I guess I, I I kind of assumed it would have been. And so, yeah, that, that hit me with some negative points there.

But I will take that trade because the game I have counterpicked, Pokemon wins and waves. Seeing that a little bit, it was like, oh, shit, this game looks real good. But it's not out until next year. So I'd rather get a hit on a couple of points with one game that was like a solid, fine Metroidvania rather than counterpicking Pokemon. and then that being like a negative like 13 or something like that, right? So I'll take that trade because I don't,

all of the rest of these games, I don't think are going to lose me points. How much they get me, though, we'll have to wait and see. I do think titanium court is going to hit. I know consume me last year didn't review as well as you would have thought bless originally, but people are really high off of the demo of titanium court, it winning the Shamis McNally award as well, it being this really weird looking game,

but really funny and quirky, I think is going to hit for people. Same with games like MousePI for hire, I think will do solid for me. Same with a pragmata. You have a pretty good lineup here. Yeah, I think the biggest, the weakest link I see on my lineup

for games that have not come out is Black Flag Resyned. And that's mainly because, you know, there's the, like, leak that it was supposed to come earlier this year and then got delayed. and I think a mix with that where Ubisoft is as a company.

The fact that they canceled Prince of Persia. The fact that they canceled Prince of Persia and then they announced this game as like a weird like blog posts with like art that if you told me was from the original game, I would have just been like,

oh yeah, that's from the original, right? So like I think that's my biggest week link in terms of like does this actually come this year? We'll see. I still have 10 bucks on the board. So, you know, maybe some room to drop and pick something else, small that's up.

But I'm feeling good about picking up O'Carino Time remake. Let me tell you. Well, I want to talk about that because dose of nostalgia in the super chat says Barrett picked Ocarina a Time before the rumor dropped. What does he know? See, you know, the Ocarino remake has been wanted, not even rumored, but like wanted from people for so long. And it was near the beginning this year, I want to say February.

and I'm thinking about it and like I'm in the shower I'm thinking about it just thinking about Zelda. About Zelda in the shower? Yeah, just like as one does. I'm thinking like this is the 40th anniversary and they dropped the ball on the 30th

like that's crazy to me. Like they got ahead and like they've been doing this thing where they've released some sort of Zelda project every year. I'm like what could they do for the 40th? It's such a big anniversary. And I was thinking,

There's no world that Super Meat Boy 3D is a 75 game. I mean, we both gave it an 8. We both gave it an eight and I don't think like someone giving it seven is that difference. You know? A lot of twos out there. Are there?

It's a good game. Another game that has not scored me points yet, but we're going to give it some time because eventually people will get to it. Ghost of Yote Legends. I took this one on a chance. hoping that there would be a little more energy for it. Nobody has seemed to play this game. I guess we have been lost in the crossfire of all these other games,

but as of right now, Gosefayote Legends has not scored for me. And then, of course, World Warcraft Midnight has scored 83, getting me 13 points. Now, of course, if you knew this before, 83 is probably where it was. I was hoping for 85. So 83 is what I deserve.

That's what I get. I was hoping for 85, but I'll take the 83. I counterpicked dustbloods, hoping that it does not come out this year. So we'll see if that happens or not. Rounding up my squad, Fort Horizon 6. We will see that right around the corner next month. Yeah, that's for 92. Yeah.

Easy. I'm hoping for 94. I want this to be the highest scoring racing game ever. Damn. I think that's the juice. I mean, probably, yeah. Last one was a game of the year, contender. Yeah.

97 on Metacritic. Well, yeah, Morgan. Down for 97 then. I pointed it down is 85. It took out 12 points for the multi-play. The highest metacritic game of Alzheimer's, I'm pretty sure it was perfect dark. It was a different time. Yeah.

I mean, let's just go over, right? It is Halo campaign evolved. It is Halo just the campaign 13 levels. So it's the 10 original levels plus three new levels with Chief and Sergeant Johnson, all in Unreal Engine 5. This is the next evolution of Halo for Halo studios of what they'll be working on with Unreal. They're away from slip space. this is their kind of testing ground of hey we're not making the official Halo game

we're going to test it with campaign evolved we're going to bring it on to PlayStation 5 for new people to check it out here's the catch no multiplayer and we all said oh yes and I think that's what's going to hurt it the most yeah I think you're 708 to 80 that's where I'm thinking whoa

damn I was thinking at least like 85 I just don't know I guess we got to wait till Xbox showcase type stuff during the summer but I just it doesn't, it's totally valid that the game would kind of go away and leave the press cycle after you had that sort of initial big hype and buzz around it.

But I just kind of wonder if, I don't know, if I heard, if it came out that it was canceled, I wouldn't be surprised. Like, it's one of those type of feeling like a side project, you know?

Here's what I think the problem is, Mike. Tell me. We're talking to 25-year-old game number one, like we've already said. If a Halo Purist, reviews it. They're going to complain about Sprint and all these other things. They're going to deduct points. Someone that's never played Halo, let's say someone on PlayStation 5 plays it for the

first time, it's a 25-year-old game. It's not going to hold up in the way that you would think that it would. So I'm just not expecting the high score. I'm really interested to see where this is going to be. Okay. I think we've gone past the Halo Purist Paris of adding Sprint. There's been too many Halo games now with Sprint, where it's like the modern day first person shooter has to feel like a call of duty, like an apex, like new Halo, right?

So I think we've moved on past the my Halo can't have sprinted in anymore. It's like that's now assumed and expected. I think the worry is like, hey, these are levels are really short or these levels are really empty and barren. Like this is a 25 year old game. It doesn't

feel like it's 2027 and beyond. So we'll see. They have done things. you add more enemy engagements throughout the map. It does look very, very good. I think not having multiplayer will be a problem. We'll see what happens. Yeah, don't get me wrong. When we did that preview last year, I'm all in.

I can't wait to play it again. But I'm just thinking purely from this competition, scoring-wise, I just don't think it'll do that great. I'm hoping for the best. We'll see. We'll expect the worst. Barrett brought up the better critic for Gears of War Reloaded, which has an 81.

Did Gears of War Reloaded? Did that launch with both multiplayer and the single- player and all that stuff. Yeah, it did. I'm really curious on how it's going to do. I can't wait for it, though. I'm going to play this. Oh, yeah.

We're doing four-player co-op. All of us. Oh, hell yeah. Have you ever fought the Covenant? I've played like half of Halo 1. I never finished. Have you ever encountered the flood? The flood, like from Mario Sunshine.

When you talk about Halo or Xbox, if you have followed the X-cast, me, Paris, and Gary always talked about the schedule, the calendar, release dates bumping into one another. And now as Xbox has acquired so many studios, has so many releases and the, of course, elephant in the room, Grant Deft Auto this year, the four horsemen start to have a really big problem of, well, where are we all releasing and can we release around the juggernaut is?

is Grand Theft Auto. You know, you have forts in May. You assume that we're going to go summer for Halo. I don't think they're going to do the anniversary date pairs. I think they'll do Halo in the summer. I think they will do, I think Halo will be like right around E3, Jeff Keely window, the summer game fest window. And then I think we will get gears maybe before Grand Theft Auto. And then you would probably put Fable December away from Grand Theft Auto.

And if development-wise, there's still some things they could tweak or tighten up, just delay it until 2027, early 2027. Give them more time. I'm hoping. Best case scenario for me, and I think also the game, is December launch. Right?

Like you put gears in front of Grand Theft Auto knowing that gears has a smaller lifespan than what you want Fable to have, right? Gears, people are going to come out, they're going to play it, they're going to enjoy this story. The diehards will play the multiplayer. Everyone else is going to move on, right? So like, let's get gears in front of Grand Theft Auto. And then Fable, yeah, the best course of action is probably that Indiana Jones December 7th area right there, right? First week of December, you have the month. People enjoy it.

big positive. I think I'll go 86 on Diablo. If I had to guess, two new classes, technically one, you've already been playing one of the classes, but two new classes, a new area here. I think they learned from the first one that they put out that got about like an 82, 83. I think it will go above the most recent. So this is one of them big chunky expansions. Yeah, there's a big deal expansion is what this is. Yeah, yeah. And then after that, you have at fate's end, which a lot of people are excited for. Game looks beautiful from the people of, is it spirit fairer or? Oh, right. Yeah. Yes. Yes, it is. Okay. Yeah. That's going to be great. This is the one. This one's going to rock. This one had the crowd around at a Xbox, ID at Xbox during GDC where like I was trying to get into this, get to play this game. And like, there was always somebody on the station. And everybody kept being like, yeah, that's the game. That's the most, that's the best game here. I can't wait for this. And so that's your returning champ right now. I played the game. I'm, I'm in talks right now. I'm fielding trade requests. And we'll see.

And then Planet Alana 2 got me 83 points a little bit lower than what I was assuming, but still like, yeah, 83 points. That's not bad. for a little indie like that. At the very, very top of my list,

we got Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave. I really hope it hits. I think that'll hit for you. I hope so. Meena the Hollower, that's got to come out this year. Oh yeah, for sure. Every preview on this one,

everybody's loving it. Does that not have a release date still? I don't know. Witchbrook is the... Which Brook could be the Dark Horse on this squad. That was the one. delayed last year. It was delayed from last

year. Witchbrook is cozy multiplayer basically Harry Potter. You're a bunch of your witches at a school and you are you're not transphobic in this moment at Hogwarts but you are just doing like

it's all the cozy shit you would want life sim relationships it's a game that's been in development for like I think close to eight years or something. It's one of those that's like And this isn't the chocolate one? No, that's a... That's haunted chocolatier.

Yeah, that's the follow-up to... Or not follow-up, but it's just the next game from the person who... Concerned tape. Concerned tape. Thank you. This is one that Bobby Lee. This one could be freaking massive or it could just come out and be a dud. But I just feel like there's been so much leading up to it that I really hope it hits. Valor Mortis is one that I'm just going with my heart.

That's one that, like, I love this demo. This is the follow. This is the devs of Ghostrunner. And I just love Ghost Runner. And Valor Mortis is their first person Soulslike game, and I played the preview of it. And it fucking kicked so much ass. It was so much fun. The boss fights were so challenging and awesome.

You have a sword, and you have a pistol in your left hand. And it's kind of like got that blood-borne thing of like, you know, shoot them for the parry or whatever. It was awesome. It felt so good. And it looked awesome as well. And then I have out of words. Out of words. Out of words?

Out of words? Out of words? Out of words. This is one of those Indies that I believe it's a Hayes-like style game. Okay.

I'm pretty sure. It's a sort of two-player cooperative thing that has always gotten good previews when that was out. Madiachi Lengeance is another one. That's my heart. That game looks good.

That's voting with my heart. That's where I see the action and the pixel art and I'm like, fuck, that looks so amazing. and it could come out and just be a stinker story-wise, and I'll take that. That's on me, because the art and everything and it just looks so freaking fantastic.

If you are a fan of any sort of Metroidvania, side-scroller, pixel art with awesome action, like this is one that looks so freaking gorgeous. And the eternal life of Goldman, the secret life of Walter Schmidt, this is the... Crazy art style. This one I'm hoping to get like an 87 on.

Really? Yeah. I think what this one is going to do story-wise is going to hit in a lot of ways besides just the wow factor for the art. Because you look at this game, it's like, God dang, that's one of the most beautiful 2D animated video games I've ever seen. I think it'll also hit story-wise. Okay.

Hell yeah. Let's move to my roster. I'm right in the middle of the pack. Really quick. I did some research. Tony Hawk is $150 plus on cam. Holy shit. Damn.

Tony's up in like the top 1% of cameos when it comes to price rank. That's crazy. Boston Rob, though, one of the OG survivors, $250 plus. Whoa. Boston Rob really holding on to that celebrity. Surviving. I don't know about that. Trying to survive.

I got zero parades for dead spies, I got Order of the Sinking Star, I got Avatar Legends the fighting game, and I got Densh attack. I'm feeling varying levels of confidence in this team

for the Metacritic stuff. If Delta Rune comes out, I think that's going to do phenomenally because Chapter 4 did phenomenally. Zero parades, a little bit of question mark, because that dev teams a lot different from what it was making disco elysium.

But... How did people feel about the demo? I don't know, actually. that would be the best thing to kind of gauge that on because I they had their they had a little steam nexus demo and I would assume that anybody who played disco alesium was like let me check that out yeah I'm on Reddit right now looking to see what they're saying yeah and Polygon says zero parades preview

it's disco Elysium 2.0 basically and hey double the points hey yeah I'm saying I know this is one that kind of made me sad that I didn't pick up esoteric ebb yeah Because that is also people say that that's just Golesium as well. And that has really great reviews. So yeah, that one is a little bit of question mark. Order the Stinging Star.

That's a new Jonathan Blow game. I worry that this isn't coming out this year. I picked it up because it was announced at Game Awards with 2026. So I'm like, you have to be some level of confident to say that it's coming next year. But we all know how indie game development works. Avatar Legends, I don't think it's going to do amazing, but I think it's going to do well.

the roster's kind of small. What are we adding here? But I think that the support for it throughout the year and then into next year, like getting more fighters, maybe getting more arenas. like I think the community is really going to fuck with it.

But I think that initial kind of like, it's great. It feels good. But like how much is there of a game here? And then Dens Attack, I'm like, I played the demo for it. Loved the demo so much. But as I get away from it, I look at it. I'm like, but is that a meta-critic hit? You know what I mean?

Is that an open critic darling? Or is that a game? Is that going to be a game that people are like, damn, this is fun as hell. And then they play for two days and move on for the next thing. It needs just, I mean, all it needs is a couple of reviews. viewers to say, like, this is one of those that I don't know that will have a lot of reviews anyway. It just needs, it needs the majority to go like, yeah, there's an eight or a nine or whatever,

you know. 100%. And I think it has the sauce. That game has a lot of sauce. That's my team. Let's move on to our third place team, which is Ecta1 Games, aka Greg Miller. Greg's team looks like this. He has Soros. He has Marvel Tocon Fighting Souls, which has been counterpicked. He has Colt of the Lamb, Woolhaven, which got him in 86 on Open Critic. Really, really good for that. That deals, he's awesome. I need to get back to it.

He has an unannounced mainline half-life game, which has been counterpicked, and I think that might bite him in the ass. Yep. He has Pokemon Wind and Waves, which was counterpicked, which has been him in the ass. Ooh. He has replaced, which I think is going to do pretty good for him. He has Beast of Reincarnation. Damn.

I think we'll do good for him. Me too. Yeah. I can see like 80. he has Monster 100 stories 3 twist for reflection 86 on Metacritic pretty good he has Minecraft Dungeons could be the Mike of last year where like Mike had couple zeros on the board but had so many high scores otherwise

And so like we had to pull him into the meeting room and we have a conversation. So we didn't have a talk about it. Yeah, to talk about it. But he swore by that he was playing. He hadn't played past what the demo version was. And so I'm like, you know, the rule is if you are playing the game for review, you can't bid on it. right but after having the conversation with him he was early enough to where it's like all right you're still in the demo area i'm gonna let it slide but i gave a little like you're on thin
