Remember, if you're new around here, like I said, live talk shows all day long.
It started with Games Daily where we went through the Black Myth Wu Kong crazy steam numbers.
Then we did the opening night live reactions for two hours.
Now it's Games cast and after this it will be Andy in blessing becoming legend in Black Myth Wu Kong.
Everyone's waiting to see this one.
And thanks to our friends at Nvidia will show you why.
This could be one of the best looking titles released this year.
It's actually kind of insane how the developed,
they put a whole bunch of jokes in here.
And when I'm ad-libbing, I can't get back to the joke.
Well, that's Nick.
Why is he write it like that?
Because he likes to give you his best.
Can't carry my jockstrap.
It's actually kind of insane how the developers have created such a stunning world.
You definitely want to come watch.
So yes, with our 40 series G4s GPUs from Nvidia,
we can show you the advanced full array-traced graphics in-game
boosted by the AI-powered performance engine of DLSS-3.
That's right after this, of course, on Twitch and YouTube.
YouTube. Catch it later on YouTube.com slash
Kind of Funny Games. Thank you to our Patreon
producers, Carl Jacobs and Delaney Twining.
Today we're brought to you by Hymns and ORA
Frames. We'll tell you about that
later. For now, let's begin with what is
and forever will be. Topic of
the show.
Michael, Blessing and Andy were on the live
reacts. They'll probably pop in here and there to talk about a
thing or two. You and I
were there as well. Two hours, Jeff
Keeley, live from Cologne, Germany.
All sorts of games as
my count, which is not fully
accurate, but I have 47 things listed here. However, I put like Blizzard together. So it's like
there's more than, and then there are some commercials. I don't think I fully wrote down.
I want to know, on the other side of two hours, 47 announcements through. We can just round
up to 50. We're all friends. We're going to say that. 50 announcements through. What do you
give this show opening night live, 24 on the kind of funny scale? Jumping right into the score.
I want to get right. I know Nick's been around here teaching you that good things take time.
I say, fuck off, Nick. You want to jump right into it. Yeah. Greg, I'm leaving. I'm leaving.
leaving this show going, that was okay.
Okay. That was good. You know what I mean?
It wasn't bad by any means. It wasn't great.
But you know what? It had a good flow. I think shocks as the co-host did a really nice job.
The set was beautiful. I wish the audience was maybe miced up a little bit better because it was dead silent in there.
It was very flat. But when I look at the show itself, that was two hours. It had a good flow.
A lot of games in there that interest me. That didn't interest me.
but I'm going to say that.
I'm sitting in between on okay and good.
I'm going to give it a 6.5 out of 10.
Very fair.
6.5 out of 10.
I appreciate that.
I like that.
You're not alone in feeling that way.
CJ splits on's already super chatted.
CJ gave it a 5 out of 10.
Most type trailer was Secret Level.
Saw Kratos and Jin Sakai in the real world.
And Mega Man!
It was dreamed out there.
Pretty cool.
Blur Studios?
That's going to be wild.
100%.
We'll get to that and get through that.
For me on the other side of this two hours,
And granted, my first day back in the office
after feeling good.
Two weeks.
I'm excited to see you guys.
We had pizza.
We're hanging out.
We're doing the damn thing.
I still don't think I'm being too lenient.
When I say, I think this was a,
I'm torn between a seven and a seven-five.
Okay.
But I guess like, why would I go seven-five?
Are you really getting that?
It's not, here's the thing.
I'm going to say seven-five.
And I don't think it's because it's getting close to that eight, which is great.
I think it's more because it's putting distance between what I think an okay show would be.
So to be seven,
so close to okay.
Yeah.
Right?
Where I don't want to be that close to okay.
Okay.
I put it here because this was two hours.
It never languished for me.
I don't feel like we ever,
we've done this before where even when this game you don't care about or it's the
commercial section.
Yeah.
We are like, oh, shh.
Oh, yeah.
And I looked at the clock at one point.
I was like, oh, man, 45 minutes are left.
That's it.
Wow.
We are actually clipping it a good thing.
And I think, you know, I tried early on and I got bad at it eventually because I didn't need to,
I guess.
I started putting in the highlights for a week.
What were actually world premieres?
What were actually things we didn't know, right?
So to see Borderlands 4,
goat simulator remaster, dying like the beast,
King of Meat,
Banner of the Spark, reanimal, right?
O-Link. We'll get to O-Linked at a second.
You know, something like Starfield, whatever, dropping it,
secret level we knew about what we didn't know this deed.
Like, you go through and it's like,
damn, this had a good clip of, again, was it,
hey, everybody, it's got a new god of war?
No, it wasn't that.
We didn't have that level of unexpected, holy shit, blah, blah,
or even for something like Borderlands 4,
which I think is a big deal.
Yeah.
We didn't get a look at Borderlands 4, right?
It was just the announcement of.
I'm happy.
I had a good time.
Again, a good time.
A 7.5 good time where I was like,
hey, you did this.
You gave me two hours that I don't feel like,
ugh.
It was just that and the other.
And you let devs talk in a way
I don't think they normally do.
Barrett, I see you up there.
I'd love to have your score and your thoughts.
Yeah, I just want to kind of back you up here, Greg.
As you would, boss, baby.
As the biggest shit talker of gamescom.
every year because I've gone to a couple.
You hate Germans. I do hate Germans.
No, I love going to Germany.
I loved the gamescoms that I worked.
Those are really fun events to go to.
But in terms of a show, I think people always had this big expectation.
You know, a blessing was like had a skip of a heartbeat, right?
When someone said persona, he was like, oh, I thought they were going to talk about persona six.
That's not this show, right?
They're not going to talk about the big out of wars.
You know, the thing I always joke about is the biggest thing out of Gamescom for years was
biomuton. And so in terms of a gamescom and opening night live in terms of that kind of show,
not comparing it to game awards or even SGF comparing it to other gamescom, I would give it a
seven as well. I think, I thought this was a good show. I thought this was one of their better pace
shows for gamescom. It was two hours. It did not feel like two hours. We've seen recent
SGFs and game awards where you feel those hours just fucking drag on by.
And yeah, there are definitely segments that I wasn't into,
but I think overall as a show for a gamescom,
I thought it was good.
You're not alone.
Tim Sim's Super Chats and says it was fine,
seven out of ten.
But not as great as this June's Nintendo Direct,
which was a nine out of ten.
All right,
Tim coming in just very,
you know,
maybe it's our Tim coming in there to say that.
Yeah,
I think as we go through this,
there was a lot of great stuff in there.
There's a lot of stuff to look forward to.
And again,
I saw somebody else shot it out over here in the live chat,
just the fact that it was like,
they gave dates,
which is cool.
we don't get that a lot, right?
You are running out of time in this year for not to have dates.
So even when indie there looked like for a second,
they weren't going to have a date,
and we all groaned, right?
That's where you're at right now.
Yeah, we also talk about it's an interesting show
coming hot off the heels of the E3 Summer Game Fest window, right?
We're only two months removed from that,
so it is tough to turn this around
and make this a big presentation of stuff
we didn't already see just in June.
Well, I think the trick to it, right,
is like this is where you talk about marketing plans
and you actually talk about this,
and you look at, I think, a good example of it,
for better or worse, in some ways, is Diablo.
Where it's like, Diablo can go at SGF and give you that cinematic and stop there.
And then Diablo can do, hey, we're doing our own presentation just about the new class last month, right,
and send people like me over to Blizzard to play it.
Stop there.
Here, here's another breadcrumb of the mercenaries, right?
Yeah.
And I think as you look at that very specific example that I'm versed in because I love Diablo so much, right?
You get to a point where when Vessel of Hatred drops, it is going to be like,
oh, look at all the shit they have.
look at all the stuff. Granted for hardcore fans, but then also
people who only caught one or two things,
maybe they're able to pull from it. So you talk about Diablo
and how you like that kind of beats. Let's talk about
Call of Duty. But it's like, I would love
just the big blow out Greg Millie.
You know what I mean? But you talk about that. Let's talk
about Call of Duty that had its own direct
after the Big Xbox game showcase
back again here at the number
two spot showing off campaign
campaign footage. Were you happy
with that? Is that too much Call of Duty
for you? That was the right way because the whole
direct thing I didn't even pay.
We watched it.
But like that was when that was on, I was on autopilot.
Okay.
That was them very much in the Duffy as they should,
talking their call of duty audience.
That makes sense.
Get into the weeds.
That's what you need to hear.
Right.
As a Call of Duty fan, Andy wants to hear.
This one was the,
hey,
here's the popcorn blockbuster where I get,
as always,
I'm sitting there going,
maybe this is the,
maybe this is the Call of Duty campaign.
I actually see through and enjoy because it looks so good.
Even as somebody who knows he does not connect with Call of Duty
every time he tries.
I look at that.
I'm like,
It's good though.
That does look good.
They have really an interesting beats when you think about that team each and every year, right?
You come into SGF window E3 before of, hey, here's what we're doing in October, November, right?
Right around the corner.
Now we come to Gamescom.
We show the campaign.
Then next week, I'm going to Cod next where now we're showing multiplayer zombies and war zone.
It's like they are continuing to just keep up and like staying in the news cycle.
It's a lot going on there.
While we look at some of the call of duty stuff here, I want to get a few more reviews.
Before we start going into the internet.
announcements themselves. Liz Phillips writes in and says, I give only not live a solid seven.
I see the show is more of a reminder of what's coming rather than a show for big announcements.
And again, I think that's, yeah, you iterate here. You iterate on the announcements you already
have, right? Armando says, seven out of ten. My expectations were in check and I got a fine
showcase. My biggest pop off was Mafia's new game. Can't wait. P.S. Greg's shirt is 10 out of
10. Thank you, Roosevelt's for the shirt. Big fan of it. And then Alec KB says 10 out of 10 because of
King of Meat. First game I've ever worked on and seeing you guys live react to it.
It will be a highlight forever. Congratulations.
Give me a part of it. Send me in there. I can't wait. Yeah.
And do you know. I'm sure you do. Do you know? Do you know?
Tell me. Kind of funny is Joey well played it. No. That's the one we sent her to
LA to play. So she's going to come in here a little bit and tell us about it when we get there.
But we're going to go. Usually you want to do an announcement by now. I mean, some of these
were going to be like there was a game. Cool. We move on.
Yeah. We want to just jump to Indie and talk about Indie at the top. Well, I have seen Indie.
So we can just jump right in if you want.
Or we can save it as a little bit of a tease
because I have gone behind closed doors
and seen gameplay of Indy
that I can now finally talk about.
Give us a Christmas present the night early.
Just start off with the big one.
We're going to start there.
Babba-ba-ba-ba-a-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ha.
All right, so of course if you're joining us, whatever,
your second to last announcement was the Indiana Jones presentation
where it was not Indiana Jones,
but Troy Baker, the voice of Indiana Jones,
walking us through a whole bunch of footage.
Some of what we've seen, some stuff we had.
You know, talking about the whip, talking about the punches,
yada, yada.
The news comes at the end.
Release date of December 9th, 2024 for this game on Xbox, a game pass.
Gets a pop there.
That's exciting.
You know, it's after Game Awards.
It's after Game Awards nominations would be out.
It's after Black Friday.
So it's one of those questionable things.
An interesting timetable to play with.
We talked about that.
But perhaps even more interesting, right?
The fact that they do that.
release date reveal, then, and we have one more thing from every guy excited about Indy.
Everybody's like, okay.
And it was spring 2025 coming to PlayStation 5 for Indiana Jones in the great circle.
Yeah, that's an interesting conversation I look forward to having with you and the team.
And I see Paris is in the chat.
Maybe he'll call in because he also got to see Indy as well alongside me.
So maybe we can talk a little bit more about it.
But yeah, I liked the Troy Baker behind the scene stuff.
I thought that was really cool.
I think it was very touching about like growing up with India.
And now he gets to wear the hat.
that's awesome.
We got the release date, right?
First week of December.
Baird and Tim really didn't think that was the right spot.
I thought, hey, Xbox needs a staple here.
They need a win for the end of this year because it's been a long one and a rough one for them.
This is exactly what I wanted to see in that first week of December.
Okay.
I want to get to that and pull on that threat a little bit.
But here's more important.
You saw it.
I did.
You just said they need a win.
They need this.
They need a hit there.
Is this the hit?
Is this the one?
Is Indiana Jones in the Great Circle?
And how much did you?
see what, but is it answer from what you know, having done this thing, I have so many questions.
Yeah, yeah.
Is this the stuff?
Is this the winner?
Is this holy shit, I can't wait?
This is, I can't wait.
It's not holy shit I can't wait for me right now.
This is exciting.
I like what they captured with indie.
I like what machine games has talked about and shown.
I got to sit down with a number of press media with the game director and creative director
on the team.
They did a Q&A and they showed us actual gameplay of a mission.
So we went out to the pyramids of Giza and got to see a nice little snippet of that.
Okay.
And so for me, I guess, coming from machine games, when I think of speed and gunplay,
it's a little bit different than that, right?
You're indie now.
Yeah.
And you are first person, as all of us know from machine games pedigree.
But it was a little bit slower than I was anticipating.
I think that is Indiana Jones at its core, right?
A little bit slower pace.
The opportunity to stealth certain areas to engage.
But it's a lot of fisticuffs, Greg.
It's a lot of throwing punches that felt and looked a little bit slow on the screen.
I think when you're playing it, it will feel different when you're throwing those meaty haymakers.
Sure.
But watching it, it didn't appeal to me when I think of what this team is capable of.
But when I think of Indy, it fits the scene, right?
That's an interesting take in analysis, Mike, because I feel like that's been one of the disconnects I have with this.
As somebody who enjoys Indiana Jones, fine.
I'd never, you know, dressed up as Halloween or anything like that.
But I enjoy the movies enough.
When I've watched this, even when Troy was like,
the ferocity of the punch.
You know, it was like, I looked at the punch,
I'm like, I don't know, look,
that punch doesn't look great,
but what's so special,
both good and bad ways for video games,
is what it's like to play a game
is not what it's like to watch a game.
And I've noticed that throughout the years of playing games
and having like Jen sit next to me
and she looks up and she calls out
some weird HUD thing
or some stupid thing of characters doing on the side
that I'm not even paying attention to
because I'm thinking about the action in front of me
or what I'm doing
or when I log into a shop or whatever the hell it's going to be.
So, yeah, I've gotten that vibe from this.
Not that it's moving at a weird pace,
but that it doesn't look great,
but I'm hoping on sticks it'll feel better.
Yeah, it's an interesting one we talk about look, right?
Because I'm excited to talk about the gameplay
because they talked about the journal and the camera.
Yeah.
And that was a big facet of our behind the scene stuff
of, hey, this is going to be a big impact on your gameplay.
But on the look itself,
you also have to remember when he does this traversal mechanics,
whether it be climbing or whipping and kind of glide
across the way. He's going to go into third person because they want you to remember,
oh, this is indie, right? Even though you know you're in the eyes of indie, but they want to show
him. Yeah. But it's like this weird half step that never looked quite right on the screen of,
oh, I'm now going through this hole or tunnel or I'm whipping the top rope and I'm going to
slide across and you transition into this third person view, but it's so fast, right? You're not
whipping for that long when you're gliding across the thing. Interesting. It's about a half
snap-in-snap-out, snap-in.
Yeah, and I didn't like the snap-in-snap-out of this.
I think it will be different when I know that I'm the one controlling the moment when it's going up.
But when you're watching it, it's a very interesting transition of like, I don't like that, you know.
It's another one, too, of like, I feel like most of the footage, even though I'm talking over footage right now that doesn't do that, most of the footage we see of the game does feel like you're watching the movie because you're looking at Indiana Jones on the screen in the cutscene right there with his journal, right?
And so it was interesting to hear Troy in the marketing material, but the video we saw say like, oh, first person, so you feel like you're indie.
When I'm, I like third person over first.
And I like that because I can see my character.
So I'd, I think I'd feel more like indie if I was in third person doing it.
But I obviously haven't played.
Of course.
And it's machine games, right?
So they are known for first person.
So that's the big one.
But it was very cool in the, of course, Q&A now that I want to bring up and move into gameplay, right?
we talk about this is the largest machine games game that they've built right and i think every company
says that as we get into these cycles but it is interesting to have them talk about the ideas of
sections can be open they can be a little more linear we're going to work with puzzles of course when
i think of action adventure games like this at a globe trotting adventures i think of laura croft tomb raider
i think of uncharted right and so what are the puzzle mechanics what are we going to be doing with that
and a lot of it has to do with your camera there's going to be times where you bust out this camera
and take photos and that might reveal what the next step is.
You're going to put it in your journal.
And there's a lot of, hey, go to the camera, take a photo,
go back and look into your journal and read what's going on with Indy.
And I didn't love that, right?
I didn't love that idea of, hey, it's all about the journal.
Now you take photos, you're getting, you noticed,
Indiana action points or something like that.
And those will be perks that you will be able to earn through these lost comics
that you'll find out through the world.
and then, of course, spend those points on certain power-ups and abilities.
Interesting.
So one thing before we bring in the one and only Paris Lily, who I'm excited to have here,
but the question I have about that stuff is, did it feel like taking the photo and putting
the journal on, did it feel like Alan Wake 2 in the wall, or did it feel like...
I didn't play Alan Wake, so I couldn't tell you.
That's going to be Paris.
Christ.
Paris Lilly from, of course, Gamer Tag Radio, an ex-cast alum in a kind of funny contributor.
Welcome to the show, sir.
Thank you for having me on.
Yeah, I was just watching and listening.
I was like, oh, yeah, I got to dive in on the Indiana Jones stuff
because I was in the same preview with Mike.
Two things.
Number one, I don't think camera grabs your focus.
I think it's focused on your door.
So put your hat, you got it.
There you go.
Get your hand in front of it and change it.
Now you got it.
And good.
And then number two, did the journal in the photos feel like Alan Wake or did it feel
like just some dumb, like the uncharted journal that you never pay attention to?
More like, yeah, not dumb like you're going to discard it,
but not as, I don't think is.
as good as long wake.
Well, welcome to the show, Paris.
How are you?
No, I'm good.
I'm good.
This, I'm with Mike that this is a game.
It's a day one, but I'm still not 100% convinced.
This is, oh, my God, the next best, greatest thing.
Because I think it's leaning a lot on the nostalgia of Indiana Jones to hook people in.
So old people like me, of course, I'm going to love it.
But I think a newer generation, it's going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting with the gameplay itself to get people.
to want to get super excited about it.
Now, I liked what I saw.
I don't think I'm as critical as Mike was as far as the transition goes from first person
and the third person in the whip because I think what you're saying, Mike is kind of
spot on.
I think when you're controlling it yourself, it's going to feel pretty natural to do.
Clearly, Troy Baker from the extended look we got, he's nailing the Harrison Ford voice acting.
So I don't think we're having any issue there.
It looked like something that.
fits in the Indiana Jones universe if that makes sense yeah 100% like a natural extension of what
Indiana Jones would do because I remember one thing that the des were talking about is there was a scene
mike if you remember where indies walking like through this like bizarre like these shops and they're
saying they were doing a realistic recreation of the 1930s they did a lot of research to make sure they
were historically accurate with a lot of that stuff um a question I had when we did the Q&A which
it was the best question anybody asked he always asked the best questions very humble but i asked them i
asked them about because they showed a lot of stuff with the pistol and and i go can you like
run and gun through everything that you're playing or is it going to be a combination of stealth like how it is
and and they explained that while you technically could run and gun through it it would be extremely
hard to do they they want a nice balance of you your your greatest asset is your mind is indies mind so
they wanted to be a little more stealthy and always trying to look for alternative ways to get through a situation
versus you just pulling out your pistol or your whip and just, you know, bum rushing your way through.
So, you know, I'm just trying to see how some of those scenarios work out through the gameplay.
Okay.
Yeah, I liked, you know, the opportunity of side quests and finding different things.
They definitely encouraged, hey, walk around the world, listen in, see if there's some other things you can go get lost with,
which is always encouraging in games.
but it looked fun.
I liked the world.
It felt very indie for sure.
So for you walking around and listening to get lost and stuff,
like it's not open world.
Like you can't,
you're not jumping location to location whenever you want to, right?
No, it seems like when you're in that area,
you'll probably look around there,
but we didn't see anything besides,
of course, Egypt's on that one.
All right.
Part of the looking around for clues
and then that's where the journal does come in,
there are some side mission,
quest things that you can discover in the game.
It isn't just 100% linear,
but you'll have to discover those on your own.
And that's, again, using the mind of Indiana Jones
and the various clues that you can find in all these rooms and scenarios.
So then Paris, I started talking about it with Mike at the top,
but I wanted to bring in here your reaction to a December 9th release date,
but also the spring 2025 PS5 release date.
Surprise by December because I was convinced,
especially when Avowed got delayed.
I was like, they're going to make sure indie gets in the game rewards window just for Troy Baker alone to get a nomination.
You're going to get those accolades.
So they're obviously going to miss that window for that.
So I was surprised to see it was still December 9th.
As for the PS5 one, I'm surprised and I'm not surprised at the same time because Xbox has clearly been signaling this is their new strategy since the beginning of the year.
I think they probably saw enough success with those first four games, more specific.
see a thieves that this is not going to be the end especially i think for bethsda and
activision games i think you're going to see a lot of this with those like as an example i would
imagine starfield at some point will come to the playstation five it won't surprise me at all you know so
either you you accept it or you don't at this point i get some people are going to be upset by that by that
but this is a strategy i'm not upset i'm disappointed i love my starfield save file and my story so much that i
will not try to replicate that on PS5 for, you know, a plot.
Like, I love everything I've done and I'm doing and going to get my fucking car tonight.
You know what I mean?
I'm excited for all that.
I wouldn't want to.
I'm more interested, Paris.
Do you think this is a Disney type situation where Disney looks at you and goes, hey,
we want everyone to play in this sandbox.
We're totally cool with you jumping on this.
But this is such a large IP.
We want this out to the masses, right?
I don't think so.
You don't think so.
Spider-Man tells me that's not the case because they would have done that with Spider-Man.
Do you think Spider-Man has more lenient CBC?
because of obviously from last generation,
the larger player base.
I mean, potentially, but it seems like,
and again, we'll never know the truth.
It seems like at one point Indiana Jones
was 100% exclusive to Xbox,
and something's changed in the short term
that now they're deciding,
all right, let's put it on another platform.
I think Blade is another example of this.
Blade's where my mind goes, Paris.
Yeah.
Parents, I jump right to Blade of like,
oh, this is probably what we're going to see right here.
then. It's right.
Early release on Xbox.
A couple months later, you'll get Blade over on every other console.
I think that's how this is going to go.
And I agree with Paris.
We're going to see a big multi-platform kind of strategy moving forward with that.
Yeah.
I think, you know what I think surprises me the most is that they said it now.
Yeah, right?
It was so funny watching it.
I go, oh, so it's not going to be, they're not going to say PlayStation right now.
And then Jeff did it like it was a one more thing.
And I'm like, oh, wow.
They really want you to know that this is going to be on PlayStation.
at a later date.
I understand the cats out of the bag.
There's rumors out about it.
We might as well kind of,
but really, like, you'd want to give someone a reason
to be excited at that date you'd think.
I think if I'm Xbox, I want you to play it on Xbox.
I want your money no matter what.
But to say that, there are going to be so many people
are going like, oh, let's wait.
Well, I think the catch is like,
you get it that day on Game Pass, right?
You can play it in December on Game Pass.
That's their strategy here, right?
And then the idea of it.
I think that strategy works.
so much better if it isn't or you can wait till a PlayStation
or you could pay $70
on PlayStation and I also feel like
both of you guys the way you're talking about it
and what we've seen of it, it does not strike
me that Indiana Jones is going to be
holy shit you can't miss this game
and if it's going to be a
hey yeah it's good. I think people
will be all right I'll rent it when it comes to PlayStation
I'll do it on place and not everybody but enough
people where it's like we always
talk with these fucking dominoes on Xbox's
table and the domino needs to be
here is an amazing game you
can't miss that is out
right now on game pass.
You can get it for 10 or 15 bucks, whatever it is.
Well, if it was like that, yeah, I think you put it
in December, you want us to forget
about it because it's not in the Game Awards nominations like
Paris has brought up. We put it in December.
To me, this is tracking as this is going to be
a good game. Maybe a great game, but
this isn't a change the tides. Everybody's
got to have this game at all.
Right here, Demon Hacker says, Indiana Jones feels
like an 84 open critic. I think
that's very optimistic based on what we're
seeing here. I would think 78, 70, 70s,
knowing nothing other than the trailers I've seen
than what I've heard.
78 to 82 is my way.
I would say that's a little low
from the extended look that we got.
I would put this as a mid-80s game
just from what I've seen so far.
I'll obviously have to play it to know 100%.
Of course, of course.
But I would put a little higher than that.
I was going to say the other part of that
that surprises me again saying that it's coming
to PlayStation now is
you're dropping new hardware this holiday
that all digital series X.
And I think there's a different.
variant of the S coming out as well, you would think, hey, maybe this could be something
to sway someone.
You know what?
Let me go pick up an Xbox and I'll go play indie and get game pass and all of that.
Now, if I already got a PlayStation, I'm like, well, I'll just wait until March.
And that's the jumping right between the price differences if you don't already have the platform.
Yes, there's cloud.
Yes, there's all this.
There's a million options, but we also know how I think somebody went through there saying
the 80s nostalgia, yeah, yeah.
But I think that 80's nostalgia is a great window if this game was a 90 or even an 80, whatever.
And it's like people like Paris who are like, oh, I grew up loving Indiana Jones.
I don't have a current system or I don't have an Xbox.
Yeah.
I think that's just we've heard from Phil, right?
We know that there are too many people over on the other side of PlayStation that are not going to buy a new console.
They are ingrained in that library.
They have all these games, all that money.
They're not jumping ship for an indie that's a 92.
Yeah.
They're not jumping for a gears of war.
That's a 95.
a Halo Infinite if it was 99
they're just not jumping ship
and so you got to go to where the people are
and that's the best way to do this right now
in 2024.
Agreed.
Paris, before we let you go, what would you have rated
on the kind of funny scale gamescom opening that live
2024?
A 7 out of 10.
Fair enough. Fair enough. I like that.
You're right then. You're right. It's aligned. Yeah.
Paris, thank you so much for swinging by.
Oh, thank you.
I'll see you soon, Mike.
Bye, Paris. You're the best, Tommy.
Is he going to call a duty next to?
No, I wish.
Okay.
I wanted all of y'all to come to call you next to me.
You didn't want me to go.
Yeah, all of us.
I want everybody to go with me.
I wouldn't have been a great fit for that one.
I think it's time to start going game by game.
But before we do, let me remind you that this is kind of funny games.

never watched a
games cast post show to a live
thing. You might not know that while
we're live, we're getting emails, getting all sorts of
updates. You'll see me pull from them to get more information.
It's usually breaking news.
One, about Indiana Jones before we got out here.
Their press release says, players can
also look forward to more content with the launch of
Indiana Jones in the Great Circle. The Order
of the Giants' DLC.
Oh! This story-focused DLC will be available
for purchase,
with purchases of the premium, premium upgrade and
collectors edition post-launched with more
details to come later.
Nice.
I imagine that makes it sound like it's only in the
Clackers Edition. Clearly it'll be standalone as well.
More story. Yeah, yeah. But I digress
Michael. Let's jump straight
into the one, the only
gamescom opening that live.
We've jumped in for a while, but like I said
before, 50
wink announcements there.
They started big with Borderlands 4
being announced and confirmed for
2025. Just a short
teaser trailer. We're seeing it here.
Spoilers for Borderlands 3, which I did blur it out,
but I don't anybody really cares.
It kind of starts with the end of Borderlands 3,
which was Lilac sacrificing herself up into space.
Then this explosion ripping through,
things shooting down.
One of the takeaways,
it looks like maybe it's ruptured the universe, right?
It looks like a hole in the multiverse to me.
The way the guy picks up the psycho mask,
this is me as a Borderlands fan and player,
picks up the mask,
makes it look like it's never been seen before in this world,
and a lot of people are calling out the fact
that they don't know to sell shady here.
And does that speak to the fact?
They're changing it, does it not?
Nobody really knows, obviously,
but you see other things falling in the reflection here.
I don't know if Pandora is expanding somewhere else or what.
I love that, Greg.
I'm guessing.
What I'm reading into a trailer there for a live rewind theater.
I like that read.
You know, Randy Pittsburgh went on the Twitter last week.
He does that.
He kind of talked about Borderlands 4,
so it wasn't like a wow thing,
because I guess I kind of had it in my mind,
but it is exciting to know Borland's on the way.
And 2025, right around the corner.
It will be exciting to see what they got up their sleeve.
Yeah, the press release that comes with this information, incredibly thin, of course, not much to jump off of just talking 2025, PC through Steam in the Epic Game Store.
It does toss about this.
The teaser trailer providing players with their first tantalizing glimpse of an all-new planet, so we won't be on Pandora anymore.
And then goes into just the normal stuff.
Yes, you're going to be a vault hunter as they search for secret alien treasure while blasting everything in sight.
Sign me up.
Yeah.
You know, I think there was the usual, especially off of the movie, the garage.
in the chat,
but Andy's like,
I can go for a borderlands
and I'm like,
I obviously love borderlands games.
I have since two is the one
that got me and I've been on
the ride ever since,
right?
Including pre-s sequel,
including all that stuff.
Tiny Tina,
I didn't,
it was a little bit different,
but you know,
I didn't get into that one.
But three,
I hosted the show and did,
you know,
platinum the game
and did a million things in it.
Had a great time.
Barrett bringing up
the classic Randy pitch for a tweet.
Why you guys would fuck me on this is beyond me.
That's a dot,
thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot from, God, it was the announcement thing, right?
Oh, it was, um, don't tell me, Barrett.
It was his tweet to Game Informer when Game Informer wrote about what he said during, uh,
the Borderlands Three reveal event.
Because he was like, we don't have micro transactions.
And then he went on to describe something that is a micro transaction, but he meant very
specifically we have pay to win micro transaction, yada, yada, yada.
And but then like if you're actually just using the micro transaction,
is a micro transat.
Was that the one
where he was also doing the magic?
I mean,
that's Randy Pitchford,
man.
I don't think he did.
I don't think
at the Borderlands 3
reveal event,
he did,
but I could be wrong.
I'm not ready to go out
on a limb and say that.
Okay.
But yeah,
I'm excited to see what this
will turn into.
A new planet,
exciting,
I am kind of over Pandora.
If it's a new art style
or a mashup of art styles,
that could be really cool.
I like that.
Yeah,
that could be really cool.
I'm excited.
We'll see what's up with that one.
Um,
oh,
this is a good question,
actually from the live chat. It's going to require a little bit
of work for you, Barrett. I'm sorry.
Malkith says, what did you think of the Directive
80-20 trailer, which is part of
the Dark Picture series from Supermassive games?
Thank you. During the pre-show,
Supermassive dropped the
Directive 80-20 trailer. I put it into
assets, Barrett. I would love
to watch that as we are big Supermassive
slash
Dark Pictures and Anthology fans here.
We're mega fans. I've always wanted to fly.
The joy of it, the freedom of it.
To just take your life in your hands.
Lashana Lynch, Captain Marvel fame.
I think that's in us all, isn't it?
At least that's what my dad taught me.
Oh, this looks good.
Yeah, why aren't?
It always looks good with them, though.
Replikins.
Shapeshfters.
Oh, my.
Coming 2025.
More crazy shit.
Interesting, right, a dark pictures game.
Okay, I was wondering, they're not calling it.
Usually dark pictures, anthologies, right up front.
The fact that they put it underneath there is a little bit of a subtitle.
That looks fucking awesome.
Yeah.
I'm coming hot off of Alien Romulus with Nick, so I'm all about the sci-fi.
So good.
We had a great time with that.
Yeah, I mean, the Among Us, shape-shifting, who's the bad guy type vibe, is going to be a lot of fun.
I've loved what they've done.
Very interesting.
Is this going to be a quarry situation where it's our big, big title?
So it's not in the Dark Pictures Anthology.
Is it a season two where we're at either way?
And they teased this at the end of the last time.
Dex in picture of holidays, yeah.
Jordan Midler.
Yeah, at VGC, I'm reading from his report,
has a little bit on it.
Earth, quote, Earth is dying and humanities running out of time.
Twelve light years from home,
Tao Seta F offers a small glimpse of hope,
reads the description of the game.
When the colony's ship, Casapia,
the crash lands on a planet,
its crew soon realized they are far from being alone.
Hunted by an alien organism
capable of mimicking its prey,
the crew of the Casapia must outwit their pursuers
to make it home alive.
As they battles to survive, they are confronted with the hardest choice of all.
To save themselves, they must risk the lives of everyone on Earth.
Fuck, yeah, I'm excited for that one.
Thank you so much for reminding us that we'd miss that during the pre-show and hadn't watched it yet.
So that was negative one.
One was Borderlands.
Then it was Call of Duty Black Op 6 dropping in there, getting a very lengthy gameplay trailer there that felt very mission impossible, Mike.
Yeah, Raven and Trey Ark on that one for the campaign side of things.
And it looks great.
It's going to be a whole lot of fun.
A lot of people come to call of duty and they like the campaigns of black ops.
They like that story of what's going on.
You never know the truth.
You're trying to figure out the truth.
It's always something freaky.
And I love what we got going on.
I'm very excited to see where the campaign goes.
And the whole package, the call of duty package this year is very robust and big right now.
Yeah.
You have the full zombies.
You have multiplayer.
You got to finally a full campaign, which we didn't really get the past call of duty.
So it is exciting to finally get like, hey, this is the call of duty right now that
you want for sure. Day one on game
pass is a big win as well. Of course.
There's a lot of juice going into this. Also the
beta, right? We have the beta on August 30th.
So right after Codd next
week, you'll be able to go hands on
with the game and get to feel the Omni movement.
A lot of big wins right now as a
Call Duty fan for me. Prestige
returning. We talked about
Call Duty zombies, me and pairs after our
time at Trey Arc. So there's a lot
of juice going behind this. And
when we get to look at the campaign, it's the
perfect marketing beat of. We already have covered
the first initial reveal.
Now we have Codnex for zombies and multiplayer.
Here's campaign as well.
It's good.
As usual, like I said on the thing,
it looks like something I'd want to play.
So I will try it.
I will try it and see if I like it.
But a call, you know, like you said,
Game Pass, such a huge win for somebody like me of like,
hey, jump in, try it out and see if I connect with it or not.
But like the Bill Clinton alternate history and then the Mission
Impossible stuff up front looked great.
This gets into more just shooty, shooty bang bangs.
And I'm like, all right, well.
But we'll see.
Get your popcorn.
Real quick to Call of Duty Next is next week.
What is that again and what are you doing there?
So Call of Duty Next invites a number hundreds of big influencers and streamers,
Call of Duty fans over to DC this year where we will stream for you live,
Call of Duty, Zombies, Warzone, and multiplayer.
So it's a great opportunity to see all of this live and inaction.
So you get some of your favorite streamers like me who has an opportunity of a lifetime.
Thank you, Greg, for that and the team over there.
And all of you for watching.
we'll get to show all of that off
so actually we'll learn about it then the day of
we'll get to tell you all the stuff
that we learned while playing it live with you
and then on Friday me and Nick will hit
the sticks with you back in the studio and we'll play
the game so it's gonna be really cool one do you know
slash can you say when you're streaming it
I can say Wednesday
okay perfect right now Wednesday look out for that
on YouTube.com slash kind of funny games and
Twitch.tv.tvonetka
remember that's a week from Wednesday so if you're watching live not
tomorrow week from it.
The third announcement was goat simulation
remastered coming in
2024, a funny trailer. Very well
done trailer. Very Arkham, asylum
entrance with all sorts of old
video game characters and tropes and making
fun of Skyrim and I loved all that.
Have you ever been into Goat Sim? I've played it a number
of times but never been to love with it. I've played
it as well a number of times for let's
plays and this that and the other and like, I get it
and it's cute but it's not something I've spent a lot of time in
but I'm happy it's back for people who care.
Here's the funny trailer with them. Yeah, cute trailer.
Then we moved on number four
persona 3 reload.
some DLC coming on September 10th.
Barrett, you're excited.
You, of course, kept your expectations in check.
You know, blessing out here.
I think it's going to be Persona 6.
Yeah, they said, I think Jeff or Atlas might have tweeted out that they were, we were
getting some sort of update.
I assumed it was just going to be more of a look at episode, I guess, which is a remaster
of the answer from Persona 3 Fez.
Very excited for that story, all that stuff.
The big announcement here, though, is that Joker is going to be.
to be a boss, which they've kind of done with Persona 5.
Like you could fight the protagonist of Persona 4 and Persona 3 in Persona 5 Royal and stuff.
So a cool, like new challenge, September 10th.
And I forget if that's when I guess is coming out as well.
I forget, because that doesn't, that seems so soon, Greg.
That seems so soon.
It's so close.
I mean, yeah, that's right.
That's crazy.
So, yeah, I'm excited for that.
I'm going to play it.
Blessing will almost be done with the main game by them.
Maybe.
Your fifth one was The Beast, the much rumored thing we had seen.
And what is that going to be?
What is going to be?
It was Dying Light the Beast.
You will return to the boots of Kyle Crane, voiced by friend of the show, Roger Craig Smith, from Dying Light One in a 20-hour campaign in a new map and open-world stuff there.
What did this do for you?
I like this a lot.
You know, you had Blessing Andy, who kind of talked about the rumors before.
And when they said 4V-1, I was a little worried about that.
I didn't want a 4V1 game again.
I think we've seen how fast those come and go.
And with a brand like Dying Light,
I really like that franchise.
And I actually like that.
It's a little bit smaller.
20 hours excites me a lot more than what we've been accustomed to
with Dying Light 2 and beyond.
Hit me with that sweet part core.
Looks like a lot of guns in this one,
which I really like.
It always feels like we've lost all the guns in humanity
and we're kind of restarting with just like a spear.
So yeah, give me all the guns.
Let's go crazy.
Of course, COPS is a big part of it.
I do have more from the press release.
for you, you're going to be going to Castor Woods, a once popular tourist destination.
After 13 years of enduring experiments, you escape and hunt down your captors to seek retribution,
only to discover there's far more at stake.
While the region isn't as populated as it once was, there are still people in factions here,
as well with plenty of horrors.
Some will help you, some will want to kill you, and it's up to the blah, blah, blah.
Kyle Crane, the man of this, did that.
Nearly 10 years after the launch of the original Dying Light,
Techland also announced the return of Roger Craig Smith to the role.
Welcome to Castor Woods.
This once bustling tourist destination is home to a diminishing number of survivors
and an increasing population of zombies.
Fearing, no, featuring natural landmarks, small villages, and industrial complexes.
The setting offers diverse traversal options,
whether it's using your parkour skills to gain the upper hand on your enemies
or hopping onto an abandoned four-by-four to outrun the hordes of the night.
Yeah, of course.
It does have four-player co-op.
The day brings many possibilities to explore the region and make the most of your time while the sun is out.
But after sundown, the laws of nature take their course.
Darkness tends to ring out the worst of the horde, leaving you with no other choice but to run, hide, or fight.
Sometimes it's best to stick to a group.
You never know how you might come across.
Team up in four-player co-op with shared progression or rides solo if you've got to take it alone.
Love all that.
What things do you think they'll maybe pull back on?
You know, in Dying Light 2, we saw them where choosing different factions and
helping different people would affect the world by having jump pads and stuff like that.
I would like to see more of that.
I thought it was fun and idea,
but I'm interested to see the world.
I really, really like parkcoring around this world they build.
Well, I think this is an interesting window into that, all right?
Let me read this.
Ultimate owners get Dying Light the Beast for no extra cost.
Development of Dying Light the Beast originally started as a story DLC for Dying Light 2 stay human.
But after two years of work, its size and scope has changed so much that it evolved into its own,
standalone self-contained experience.
To show appreciation for the community
who patiently waited, they will be offering
it at no extra cost to all players
with Dying Light 2, Stay Human Ultimate Edition,
delivering a full standalone adventure
instead of just a DLC.
Oh, okay.
What I think is interesting about that,
$39.99, if you don't have it.
I think the scope makes it sound smaller,
which I think is going to pull back on that
you're not going to have two factions
that are going to change the scope of the city
and yadda, yeah.
Especially you being the beast.
I think it'll be a lot of the people who are like afraid of you
but help you for whatever reason to try to survive.
But at the same time, it seems like they're building off of that.
So maybe they ditch the factions, but they still have,
hey, when you complete X, Y, and Z mission,
now all of a sudden we've added this to the world.
I think they will build off of that, hopefully.
It's a good mechanic they have.
Number six on my list of things that were happening was the Black Myth
Wu Kong trailer.
Of course, it's the launch trailer.
The reviews are out.
You guys are loving it.
You had a great gamescast review yesterday where Andy was
saying he's not ready to score it, but he sounds like an eight
is where he'd be right around there.
Yeah, Andy put it in about 38 and a half hours.
He said, I saw him playing last night, so he's over 40 now.
You had Blessing at about 11.
They're both going to be playing later this afternoon.
Right after this, actually.
They excited me about it, but also not, I'm still very firmly on the fence on this.
And I think something that Blessing really spoke about was like,
I'm hitting this small wall of fatigue on these very hard,
Souls-like games.
I know it's not a Souls like, but these harder games where it's like,
I'm not in the mood right now for this.
So I'm not going to jump at it this week or next.
We'll see this maybe a couple months down the road.
I mean, we are on, you are on the roller coaster of review season.
So it's like one of those things.
If a game doesn't speak to you, like you're,
there's something else coming up in the next 48 hours probably that you want to jump into.
I'm playing through all the Soulsborn games right now.
I'm deep in the middle of Armour Corps 6.
I don't have time for this.
I'm playing Armour Corps.
very busy man.
I'm very busy. Okay.
I don't have so much time.
I'm raving right now.
Six to one.
Then it was the seventh one on there was
Dragon Ball sparking zero.
Just a trailer for that again.
I forget if they had an actual information that was new in there,
but that would be something.
Blessing would have had to tell you and he's gone.
So I can't help you for that.
You know what I mean? I tried.
I did my best.
Blessing doesn't care about you and left you.
So whatever.
That leads us to the one, the only.
King of Meat.
This is the one that popped up.
We talked about at the top of the show, right?
Alec KB, a kind of funny best friend
in the chat right now, is working
on this game. It is a four-player
co-op game from Glomade,
the developer, published by
Amazon Studios, and the one,
the only Christmas
in August, Joey Noel got to go
play it in L.A. She's struggling with
the microphone. I can help you. Joey, get ready.
I got questions. Can you turn on 10?
You turn on 10 for us. Oh, Joey, I have so
many questions. I'm excited. I'm here to
answer your questions. First off, if people
are in their car and they can't see the trailer
and they didn't see the thing.
What is King of Meat?
King of Meat is,
it's interesting because we didn't get a ton of story.
It was mostly gameplay.
But this King of Meat is like the premier entertainment spectacle for this world that we're in.
So essentially it's one to four player and multiplayer.
And you go through these like mini dungeons to go through.
You're kind of destroying everything.
You're trying to get as many like gems and gold and all that kind of stuff to get either like gold silver or bronze trophies at the end.
and then they're launching with a hundred different levels
that they're making themselves.
A lot of them are like different themes.
Like if you want really heavy platforming,
if you just want to go destroy stuff,
if you want to use your super abilities,
there's all these like different like bomb things
you pick up to like blow everything up and stuff.
And then there's also on the other side of it,
a like build a level creator of a Mario Maker.
So if you obviously go through and beat the level,
it gets published for everybody and everybody can play it.
It's really fun.
the loop and the timing of the levels are good where like it's not super long and then the gold that you get from completing the levels on bronze silver and gold let you unlock new super abilities new weapons we went from like a hammer to a sword to a bone arrow like all sorts of different stuff really fun costumes yeah yeah I saw that in the trailer if Barra can pull it up when he is a second yeah the trip sorry I was going out the game awards uh thing and they do don't have it there what was it called again king of meat king of me yeah it's got a
a pretty big push online if you can find it.
Yeah, I was going to say the costumes looked great.
And this is one when they approached me about getting somebody from kind of
funny to see it.
It was like,
hey,
we know you guys like the dungeon crawler.
We know you guys like Diablo.
We're going to do one that's going to be different and more family friendly for lack of a better
term.
And this started in a weird place when you don't never know what kind of game you're
getting.
And then it was like,
oh, this is that game.
Okay,
this seems cool.
Yeah.
When I first got there when you were going through the presentation and stuff like
that, I was like, oh no, because it looked way more platformy than that is not my vibe.
And there are like definitely levels that are like platform or heavy and stuff like that.
But most of it is just like bouncing around, trying to get to all the secret rooms that are
off the main rooms and stuff like that.
It's, I had a really great time.
We played for like an hour straight and we kind of played through a bunch of like, like,
we had three people and a dev.
So we just asked our dev like all of our, or his favorite levels and stuff like that.
It's fun.
it's definitely very fall guys.
Yeah, you know that's what I want.
So I think I came back and I was like,
oh, Mike's going to like this for sure.
And then the Mario Maker aspect,
it's really going to be interesting.
You see what the community does with it.
There's going to be some really tough levels
that I think we're going to get the fun
like Andy rage moments and stuff like that.
The only thing that's, it's not necessarily
competitive with each other.
So I don't know that you're going to be able to go around.
More of a team, of course.
Yeah.
We're not competing for the one crown.
Yeah, yeah.
So you won't necessarily get to troll people
the way that you like to.
I love that.
Um, it's really fun.
And like, yeah, the amount of time that each level takes, it's like probably between like five and seven minutes.
Okay.
And obviously faster if you're trying to get the gold.
Um, but it's like a really good loop of you finish, you go get new costumes, you get new weapons, you get new super abilities.
I got one where I threw a bunch of ducks and they just like attacked everything and all sorts of stuff.
So I think it's going to be a fun one for us.
Cool.
I like that.
Uh, before you get out of here, uh, DJ Kento super chat and says, Joey, can you tell us what the downtime between levels was like in King of Me?
Was it fast, slow?
Oh, yeah.
It's pretty fast.
It kind of does like a shuffle of like here,
or at least for us,
it was like,
here are your three options.
We just kept going back
because we kept leveling up so fast
that we wanted more items
and stuff like that.
Because there's obviously like potions and stuff
that will boost your XP
or your health or whatever.
Sure, sure, sure.
But you could keep going through it
like pretty quickly.
That's not really any downtime.
So yeah, the four of us would complete a level.
We'd go into like a loading screen
and we would choose what's next.
Yeah.
And it would load that up and we just keep cycling through
and keep going.
Yep.
That's awesome.
That's fun.
I like the sound of that.
Yeah, pretty good.
Thanks, Joe.
No problem.
Variety reports.
No release date yet.
The game is going to be available on PS5, Xbox across the board, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
Oh, I love that.
I like that.
From there, we went to Linked, Banner of the Spark.
Not O-linked, even though they clearly have an O in front of the Linked on their logo.
But I'm sure that'll be changed when they see everybody on it.
This is from FuzzyBot the developer coming October for early access.
you know, again, having devs on stage talk about it was great.
Didn't get me going.
I don't know how you feel about it.
I bet you this will be an Andy Cortez joint.
This one, when I looked at it, it was like, oh, I think Andy will play this and go, this is a really fun time.
And he'll enjoy this.
It gives me Andy vibe.
So if you align with Andy on some games, I think you will vibe up with this one.
If you align with Andy, you're going to be there.
Yeah, you know, rebuild your home and all the stuff.
Sure.
But yeah.
Okay.
Good for you.
Yeah.
Number 10.
Come the fuck on.
Lost Records, Bloom and Rage from Don't Nod.
Got a very nice, meaty section here of a conversation in the present day at the diner,
saw what it would look like to choose your choices, then click back over to when they were kids or whatever with their little band,
Bloom in Rage, see this, I assume, supernatural thing of this box showing up and this there,
how good it just looks visually, you know what I mean, in terms of like this is in the game right now,
this is what the models in the world looks like, that looks fucking awesome.
and also finally getting release dates coming in two parts, February and March of next year.
I loved this a little bit of a demo.
Yeah, it looks fantastic, Greg.
I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think on this.
This isn't usually my cup of tea, but I will say this, 2024 and beyond.
Mike has been stepping out of his comfort zone in game, so I might give this a try because the trailer did look so good.
And I kind of like that freaky-diki stuff at the end.
Is it supposed to have a supernatural, oh my God, it could turn horror all of a sudden, or is this?
A band coming together having fun.
No, no, no.
They've been, they've hinted at that before.
That's what it's looking like or whatever.
Okay.
Okay.
Of course, I think they're doing gamescom demos of it.
So we should hear more.
I have a key.
I've just been on vacation.
So eventually I'll be able to play and give some thoughts on whatever,
however many chapters I have via that.
But excited to get into that one.
But also just excited to have the final thing because don't nod.
Let's go.
I'm ready.
Okay.
Yeah.
From there, they showed number 11 on my list.
No more room in hell too.
Again, really quick, it was the joke here of the 64 players on the game.
And then just like eight players are like, okay, well, whatever.
We've seen it?
Yeah.
I want to play it.
That's it.
I'm done.
I love zombies and I just looks like a cool zombie world.
Let's go.
Wait until state of the K3 comes out, Greg.
It's so young, man.
I'll probably wait till the next season when it comes to PlayStation 5, but I'll be excited for it.
I'll be excited for it.
Yeah.
It looks cool of zombies.
I mean, I want to try it, but I want to know more.
Then number 12 on my list, Ark Raiders.
This is one we've heard a lot about.
Andy!
Can we get Andy in the room?
We're going to get Andy in the room.
Of course, she's been excited, and he did play it, I think, or saw a preview.
I'm not sure if you played or saw it.
Do you play or just see it?
He saw it.
Arc Raiders was there.
2025, they said, Andy has played it.
Andy, what is?
You saw it didn't play.
What is Arc Raiders?
And what did you think?
PVEVP, third person shooter, post-post-apocalyptic, Greg.
We're past the one apocalypse, right?
We're past that.
We're building onto something new.
It's a third-person shooter.
It's freaking gorgeous.
Apparently this was going to be a very different game at one point.
It was going to also be a free-to-play micro-transaction game.
But they did the very smart PR thing of talking to us and being like,
we decided that a $40 price tag and going the actual paid route would be the best way.
So we don't have to think about what content do we have to make?
make in order to generate
money, we can just say, what
content do we have to make to make the game better?
That's great. And that's like the best PR than you could possibly
say. But visually, it was freaking fantastic.
It's think the cycle.
Me and Mike had a great
couple weeks with the cycle.
Tactical extraction.
Yes, you are going out. You're coming back
to a home base. There are
NPCs there to give you missions and side quests
and they'll say, go get me three of them
bug, whatever the hell is. You're fighting
a lot of very robotic.
sort of machines that will kind of surprise you and come out of the ground.
But like some of the sequences where you are in a dark sort of corridor with
hallways, like having those, like seeing the way the game looked visually, I was like,
I can't, this looks so freaking fantastic.
I want to get my hands on it.
But I've just, I've been telling you, Greg, I've been missing the division.
I want those vibes again.
Now, this is not really doing that, unfortunately.
But it still seems fascinating enough in terms of going out to go do missions.
then you might stumble upon another, you know, another sort of group out there.
Like when me, Mike and Nick were playing the cycle and Mike would go, you know, this is sunburned.
Come in.
I have no armor on me.
I am not a threat.
Are you near me?
And he would just call over friends.
And they'd be like, oh, he has to go, man.
Like, I'll give you some armor.
And then Mike would just shoot him and kill him.
Like, the worst piece of garbage ever.
Just a monster.
But I was just really, really impressed with how this looked.
I had a good time with the cycle.
And then it kind of got shut down because they just did.
didn't have the player base needed.
Sure.
But Arc Raiders is kind of going for a very similar sort of vibe.
But again, that post-pocopocalyptic thing, more near future using third-person shooter,
but with a lot of gadgetry, a lot of cool tools and mechanics like that.
And yeah, it's a $40 premium title, and it will launch in 2025.
But, yeah, the tech test scheduled for October 24th through the 27th of this year.
October.
Okay.
Very cool looking.
Love it.
I'm gonna keep an eye on.
All right.
Not a survival sim.
Like you and I, it's not a survival sim like we would play with like, uh, Icarus or
anything like that.
No, there's no real like base building or anything like that.
It's mainly like, you're, the RPG stuff is you building up your character, you
getting better weapons, kidding out your, your, your, your gun and your load out and all that
stuff and then going back out to then go to the more dangerous spots, get better loot and
things like that.
Also, I want to shout out that, um, I give this.
showing like a six and a half or a seven out of ten.
And what I really liked about it is
and why I want more of these.
No, they're not going to knock you over the head
with the most insane sort of announcements ever, right?
Yeah.
But there's so many games getting released
that these little presentations,
even though this wasn't little by any means,
but just presentations at all
help me keep track of when these games are coming out
and what these games even are.
There's so many times we do games daily,
and it's like, out today, blah, blah,
It's like I haven't heard of all any of these games.
And there's just so much to kind of keep an eye on.
So this, I love more of these.
So great job, Jeff, in the team.
Great job, Jeff.
I have so many questions for our creators.
I'll ask Andy Nick.
13 on my list was Infinity Nicky.
Yes, we've seen this before.
We have seen it before.
It was there. Sign up to do the open beta.
This is the one where I looked at.
I'm like, I want to see what this is about.
If there's cute outfits.
I want to see what.
It's usually out of my gaming box, but you know what?
I'm stepping out the box.
You've been out of the box.
So maybe, maybe on that one.
It's a hard maybe.
From there was Space Marine 2.
September 9th, you're in.
That's deep in my box.
I didn't realize that you and Andy were so in.
Oh, we're so into this.
We cannot wait.
Of course, it has the three-player co-op
through this incredible, you know,
Warhammer World, which I'm very excited to explore.
It really dive deep into for the first time.
I love the idea of the PVP as well.
I really am looking forward to that.
I love a good competition.
I love a good challenge with Andy.
So, yeah, we are geared up and ready for that.
And that's early September.
So that's only a couple of days away.
Right around the corner.
Right around the corner.
Ready, everybody.
From there, number 15 on my list was predecessor.
This, of course, is the follow-up to Paragon, right?
This game is based on Epic Games Mova Paragon, which was scrapped in 2018.
But thanks to its top content creator, Robbie Singh, he started up Omita Studios and developed predecessor using the existing assets.
A cool story.
And another one that's out today.
It's out today.
So you could go play it right now.
I wrote on my notes.
I'd play that because I love a good moba.
I really enjoyed what Smite did on consoles.
I really wish they would figure out how to get League of Legends and Wild Rift on the console.
But I am interested in that third person over the shoulder, kind of more actiony moba.
And yeah, if that can fill the vibe of what Smite is while I wait for Smite 2, hey, I'll give this a try.
So it's out today.
I'm in.
I like that.
The next one on 16, it was Path of Exile 2, the new.
news here was that early access is coming
November 15th. So we've been waiting.
People have been talking for a long time about
Path of Exile 2. We got another trailer
for it and then yes, it's a November 15th date.
I need you to play this. I have a good friend who plays a lot of this
and I've never jumped off the Diablo train
but I know this is it. That's my thing, man. Diablo's so good.
And I'm not saying that this isn't good. I'm not saying this couldn't be better.
It's just that thing of like you're talking to somebody who's what?
I think it's 150 hours now into Diablo.
I got Vesla Hatred on the horizon. I got a new season on
right now. It's like, I get it.
I know, but I don't
know. Well, the positive for you is once you
burn out on Diablo for it, which won't be
anytime soon. But once you do,
you know that there's a good alternative
out there for you to go give it a try.
Then number, well, it's funny,
because Joe Dishus in the chat says, you need a
PhD to play Path of Exile. And I'm like,
I don't know if that's true. Up next is Dune
Awakening. Which,
the more they talked, I was like, this is
all fucking awesome.
This is getting even more. What
am I doing? How am I doing what's going on? This is Do an Awakening coming to early access on PC
in 2025. That was announced during this, but a very deep dive into this game to show you really
what you're doing in the Spice Wars. Yeah, I need to play this. I have a lot of questions. I'm
still unsold on this one. Like, I'm interested and I want to be into this, but I am a little
unsold. We just got done playing once human, which had the very similar of like base building in
an MMO type of world and we saw what kind of mayhem that became, right?
But this doesn't feel like that.
So I want to know what does it look like when I'm in an MMO very shared server world?
And then what does it look like when it's me and my squad, maybe doing missions or building?
Is there two different servers?
Is there two different instances?
Or is it always going to be there are thousands of people running around and it just looks like World Warcraft and City of Heroes?
Yeah.
You know, I enjoy the idea of an MMO.
DC Universe is really the only one that's ever grabbed me and really kept me around.
This is one I would want to play.
Like, this looks cool and I would want to try it.
I don't know how long I'd hang out if I would be crazy on it, yada, yada, yada.
But I did like it.
If this was like Icarus where me and my friends can host our own private server
and have up to 8 to 15 of us and just be us, I'm all in.
If this is like, hey, you are always going to be in a server maxed out with a thousand people.
and they're going to be running around.
I'm a little less in.
Fair enough.
From the one and only
Dune Awakening,
we went to number 18 on my list.
Reanimal.
This is the next game
from TarsiA Studios.
Creepy, creepy.
You look really good.
Yeah, it looked really good.
Some inside limbo vibes,
very similar to what we've seen
with little nightmares.
This looked really good.
This is definitely a,
keep on your list to check out.
You know,
I'm answering one thing from here.
It's interesting because this is,
know, the people who made little nightmares,
but then broke up, right, with the license because of Bandai Namco.
And so we'll see that little nightmares three in a little bit,
but this is the one from the one and two people.
So that's an interesting one, but freaky-diki creepy.
I'm interested to see more eventually.
Yeah.
Number 19 I had was Genshin Impact, a new trailer for that.
The news being coming to Xbox and Game Pass November 20th.
Yeah, I've seen this so many times, Greg, that like, now I'm like,
oh, man, do I have to try this?
They brought to your doorstep.
There's a piece of me that's like, I'm about to try one of these three Hoyoverse games.
And we'll, I'll keep you posted on which one I choose.
I'm right on the game pass, right?
Somebody said that while we were going.
Yes, it said game pass.
Perfect.
Just making sure.
I'll be interested to see if this is the one that gets you.
Have you ever tried any of these?
I did.
Yeah, I tried Genshin.
I played Genshin for a couple nights.
I think right around the, it was after they dropped Aloid, but it was when it was on
PlayStation or whatever.
And it was close, but not what I wanted.
Okay.
It was close to what I was looking for out of that kind of game,
but it just didn't stick for some reason.
Yeah.
This is a game that I have not looked at at all.
I've seen Blessing try to play it once,
but like I'm going to do this completely blind on what this actually is going to play and look like.
From there it was Monster Hunter,
fucking Wilds,
everybody.
Just another dope-ass trailer,
reconfirming the 2025 thing.
You know,
kind of funny,
big on Monster Hunter Wilds,
myself leading the charge in some regard.
I thought the enemy design we saw here looked,
so good. The creepy-ass spider dude,
the electricity man. Just your cast
in general, the game looks gorgeous.
I really, really, really, really can't wait to get my
hands on this, especially with Monster Hunter
now having restoked my Monster Hunter
fire as of late. You know what? Really
good showing on this. We talked about the flow of
what Jeff Keely and the team did with O&L
and I brought up on the predictions episode, well, if we're going to see
Monster Hunter again, which we knew, it's probably
going to be like one hunt full
playthrough, right? Because what do you really have?
And I like that we chose, hey, no, we have a
trailer with some really cool monsters that you're going to see, and let's keep it short,
simple, straight to the point and get out of there. And it's very cool. This spider is
wicked dope. I can't wait to jump in. Yeah, super excited to get in there.
21st announcement I had here was the Naraka Blade Point Cross Tomb Raider.
That's coming August 28th, if you're into that. She's everywhere. She is everywhere.
Then it was Fatal Fury from S&K. They put a date of April 24th on that. I don't even know what I'm
talking about. I think that's the crossover thing. My notes are getting kind of crazy.
That was the Queen of Fighter joining, right?
Is that what that was?
I believe that's right.
I don't even have a press release on it.
Looks cool.
Yeah.
Then they showed some Mecca break.
Then Jeff came out to talk about Monument Valley 3.
Coming to Netflix games, this will be out on December 10th.
Also notably in the lead-up to that, in September, you'll get Monument Valley 1 on Netflix
games.
In October, you'll get Monument Valley 2 on Netflix games.
Greg, be honest.
Did you know that there was a Monument Valley 2?
I want if you if it was game showdown and it was yes or no I would say yes but I couldn't like you wouldn't show me a screenshot I'm like oh mine me value too yeah yeah yeah love the music on this I've never seen or played this before you guys spoke about it I'm always in for a good puzzle game I actually have that islands of adventure insight that we're playing that I really love that puzzle game right now so I'm in a puzzle mood I don't know if this will be the one but I've vived with the music love the color I don't know maybe
From there we went to Civilization 7.
Of course, it was a nice trailer.
A heartwarming one, as you look back, and they talked about it.
Got everybody here hype about it.
The news was February 11th, 2025, release date on that one.
They threw out before showing a whole bunch of stuff.
There is a gameplay showcase that's going on, I guess, right now.
It was immediately following this.
Of course, you can come to Pax and see me host the Civilization 7 panel with for Axis games.
So I'm excited to talk to them about this.
I'm looking forward to hearing what they got.
Yeah, you like Siv, right?
Yeah, I've been playing Siv with Washi.
It's a little bit slower than I'd like when you play multiplayer,
but when you play by yourself,
you can really get in the flow and get the game going.
And so, yeah, I prefer single player.
Unfortunately, I'd love to play a lot more multiplayer,
but it's just too slow for me.
Understandable.
Number 26 motherfuckers, it's Starfield.
You thought it was dead.
It's back.
And the Rev 8 vehicle is dropping tonight.
They got the car.
Of course.
two goddamn weeks off work.
I'm playing all sorts of stuff.
They couldn't have dropped them there to let me get out there
and get rev date. Whatever.
Great trailer. Great trailer for the revenue.
Somebody brought a very forza-like trailer. Yeah, exactly.
It was cool. It was a great time. They were having a lot of fun.
Already dropped, according to the chat right now, so that's
great news. And then they also
stacked at the very end to Shattered Space
release date on it. September
30th. Again, the rumor had been
a lot of, you know, educated guesses
saying it would be September. It is September.
September 30th for that.
Some dates.
Yeah, it's happening right there.
I'm looking forward to deeper dives on that.
I think, correct me if I'm wrong, tomorrow is the Xbox day or is it multiple things?
I know there is a shattered space.
Yeah, Xbox is there all week long and they have stuff.
So yeah, I believe if you take a look at the Xbox Twitter account, they have a big festival
lineup of all the things they'll be talking about.
From there, we went to Marvel Rivals, of course, with its stealth release, Mike.
You had it on your fantasy team.
They said it's coming in 2025.
You said, I'll drop it.
and then they confirmed today
December 6th that's coming out this year.
I want everyone to know right now, Greg,
that if I had Marvel rivals still on the docket,
I would win fantasy.
Because I am one game down.
I am within striking distance of Greg and Barrett here,
who are the two front runners.
And if I kept Marvel rivals and didn't lose it,
and I even still had replaced off the board,
I would be in.
But now I face myself with replaced out.
I also have, you know, sweet, sweet.
Team Cherry, they don't want to talk about Holler Night at all.
They don't want to talk about it.
And so now I'm down bad.
I'm down bad.
But if I had more rivals, I'd be in this race.
What a great showing here.
Happy it's coming out this year.
This has been the game of the summer.
It has been so much fun.
Reignited the excitement to play a hero team arena shooter like an Overwatch.
They have great characters.
Awesome to see that all the characters are going to be free forever.
And it's a free to play game.
So you know they're going to make a lot of money off the skins,
which, yes,
The characters are great.
You love all the Marvel ones.
The skins are going to be dope.
It's a really good game.
It's a fun time.
Yeah, if you're an audio listener, you can't watch.
They are showing Captain America and Winter Soldier.
That was a big thing.
And this Wakanda level was a big deal.
A reveal, somebody shot it out.
But Captain America and Winter Soldier were the characters revealed here,
showing off some of their abilities.
And like Mike said, yeah, all heroes unlocked and free to play at launch, they said afterwards.
Which is a good piece of news, though, that we're all very excited for.
And again, as somebody who tried it briefly before,
a games cast.
I don't like
Overwatch.
Captain America,
I could wrap my head
around, I think.
Shield and running
and like what we're seeing
that.
I could do that.
I could do that.
Moving on next
was Secret Level,
not a video game,
but an anthology show
coming to Amazon Prime.
It got a release date
of December 10th.
This is going to be
every,
I'll read from deadline.
Each episode of Secret Level
taps into worlds
from beloved video game
classics and new titles.
Here's a list of games
who inspired the 15 stories
in season one.
Armored Corps, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons and Dragons, Exodus, Hero, I'm sorry, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World Eternal, Pac-Man, PlayStation, PlayStation, Partheses, highlighting various PlayStation Studios, beloved entries, Seafood, Spalunky, the Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000.
So sick, dude. I mean, this is some of the very best in the game, doing this and doing something really, really cool and unique, and a lot of fun.
When you see Kratos in there, people have been putting it all over Twitter.
Roger put it in our Slack that it is in present day with cars behind him.
So you would imagine this PlayStation episode they're talking about will be, hey, Jensakai, Kratos, they're all in the real world.
They're doing their thing over here, let alone just the fucking interpretation of Mega Man right there.
Like, I can't fucking wait.
Armored core.
Looking really cool.
I'm very excited to see what this is all about.
I can't wait to dive in.
I am a little disappointed.
You know, there's a little bias of me.
I wish there was some halo in this.
You had a whole show.
I know.
Oh, then you watched the show?
Yeah, it was a whole show.
Oh, buddy, you had a big show about it.
It was two seasons.
Was it good?
It was a good?
Was it good?
Was it good show?
Everybody loved the show.
That's all I wanted.
From there, we saw Towerborn.
It's launching an early access for PC on September 10th.
Then we saw some Delta Force coming to early access in Q4.
Then Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 got some time.
February 11th for that one coming out.
They showed some tower.
Nice.
Yeah, we talked over
some guys like
Stop talking,
remember.
Oh, I missed it.
Dang, I missed
Towerborn.
I mean,
all it was was
September 10th.
Delta Force,
I've been playing,
Delta Force,
Hawk Ops.
Hawk Ops.
Hawk, too.
I've just been calling it
good, not great,
not bad.
It's just a fine shooter.
I think I've played
a couple of these
fine shooters this whole summer.
It is interesting.
It just,
it brings back a franchise
that I know from the PC days
long ago,
and those scenes that they had in the campaign
remaking that. I'm very excited to see
what the campaign is. Wasn't
thrilled or in love with the extraction
shooter, but a lot of streamers right now
are giving it a lot of love. They're saying that this is
a very fun extraction shooter to check out.
And then you have the big 60, or 32 on 32,
64 player, multiplayer,
very similar to Battlefield
and their rush mode. So you can check that out right now.
Then we got a little bit of Zenless Zone Zero.
They showed a new location.
new iridu iridoo iridoo iridoo iridoo new iridu is what we're going to call it they showed that so if you like that congratulations
then they showed some star rail stuff featuring the crossover with fate slash stay night unlimited
blade works anime that's coming next year sometimes so and look forward to that as well then a new
trailer for batman arkham shadow the meta quest three game we got the month
of October for a release date on this one, saw a gameplay of what it'll actually be like
to be the bat, to be in the cow there. It's the bat. Yes.
You can't take us all out. Run out of me. Ditch the flat screen, put on the headset.
How about the three of us make a commitment? We give it a try. Oh, I'm going to give it a try for
sure. I'm trying to get Barrett. I'm trying to get Barrett. I know you're not, but like we're
going to sit down. We got a two hours is just gaming boys. Here. Oh, well, I'm going to try to play
through the entirety of it.
Oh, good.
But when I see this, hold on, let me go back.
When I see this gliding, oh, buddy.
Like, I just, I can't imagine.
That's going to feel good.
I can't imagine that I'm not going to, like,
immediately want to fucking throw up, man.
Of course, that is the big question.
What will motion sickness be like in the Arkham universe?
You know, it is, I look at it and I have the same vibe,
but my saving great.
race here is that it's camouflage doing it.
They did a great job with Ironman VR.
They do, and they have so much with
Republic. Like, they know
VR. Obviously, MetaQuest 3 is a great
headset that we all love around here. So it's like
let's see, let's do it. But I do agree when you're
ziplining. I'm like, oof. I don't know.
That is the one that got me back in the day
of like elevators and stuff like that. Also, like
I don't mean to be a sickler, but I'm pretty sure
this is like the fucking
security force that
strains hires for Arkham City.
And I feel like that was Batman's, like, first time dealing with that security force.
So, like, what's this guy doing?
And, like, the prequel of, for another prequel of asylum, I don't know.
But, again, I don't want to be a huge, like, fucking.
Debbie Downer right up the gate.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think it's interesting in, like, again, a cool idea to do, you know, the things we know and love from the Arkham games in first person.
I love that.
I love that we're doing, essentially, like, a follow-up to Arkham Origins.
And this is nothing to do with the studio.
This is nothing to do with like,
this is just more on WB of like, why,
I want, I want a main flat screen to be basic bitch experience,
whatever the VR players call us.
We're flatters.
We're flatters.
We're flatters.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I just, I don't know.
I love the name, Arcombe shadow.
It's a cool name.
All of the villain stuff that they're showing me,
I'm not as like.
Security Force dude there with his electric whip.
I'm like, oh, father.
He was, like, the big bad showing off in the trailer, and I was like, okay, cool, I guess.
And then, you know, the Rat King, who's apparently not Rat Catcher, but we'll fucking see, man.
I don't know.
I'm not sold on, like, the antagonist front where it's, like, asylum was very clearly, like, all right, that's one night between you and Joker.
I loved City of, like, the clear selling of Hugo Strange.
And then a night with Arkham Knight.
and then a lot of this all kind of ties back to Joker, really.
But then origin is kind of at least the selling point of black mask and that stuff.
I don't know.
I'm just not like getting a premise where I'm like fucking hooked into the story of this yet.
Up next was Little Nightmares 3 from Supermassive.
This is one we're talking about, of course, Bandai Namco, but Ziss, whatever.
Another freaky-diki game, another two-player co-op game.
You two playable characters to get into this coming in 2025.
coming to everything you'd expect, including Switch.
So if you're a Little Nightmares fan, it's there.
Again, seeing super massive, you know,
branch out and do something other than what I think they're known for
with our Quarry-type game,
or Dark-in picture of the Algae's game.
Looking interesting there.
See what's up with that one, but.
Okay.
Scary puzzles and whatnot, you know.
Yeah, why not?
Little Nightmares got the name.
You know, you've been around in the franchise,
but now knowing that the team is split off
and they're doing reanimal, you know,
one X might be up right now,
and the other one might not look as good.
so we'll see. Number 36
on my list was herdling
coming in 2025. I kept
saying you're going around, herd in the yaks.
I have an official press release
over here. Shepherd, your
mysterious, mysterious herd of
animal companions while exploring gorgeous
landscapes in this single player adventure.
Head out on a beautiful journey into stunning
mountainscapes, fog-reathed forests,
snowy plateaus, and forgotten
valleys and beyond.
Looks cool. Yeah.
You know, this says first time play will be
plaques west, so maybe I'll try to get out there and check it.
But like, I could see me playing this. This looks like my
kind of dork game. Yeah, definitely. We're going to just hurting some
stuff next to a train. Why not? Yeah, sounds good.
We'll see what's up. Okay.
Then, God, can you fucking
believe it, 37? Peter Mullen, who came out.
Talk about Masters of
Abelon. Yeah. It's a 20-person
team. It's an open world God game.
Mike, the more Peter talk,
the more you got excited. Yeah, I'm a kid
who grew up with black and white and black and white, too.
So I loved this God
simulator, but I was really in it for
the cool beast that you got to control
alongside these villages. And so I
like the idea of the city builder
and what I was doing there. I was a little
led down when we went to, okay, well, let's
play as our champion. I wanted that to
be some sort of mythical godlike
beast. And so that's where he
had me and then he lost me a little bit.
But I am a sucker for this
kind of game. So we'll see. He might have me.
Build by day, fight by night
in an epic story of power and consequence.
Design, build, and customize your
world from the food your people eat to the
clothes they wear, the weapons they wield
to the homes they live in, possess
characters at will in this unique
god game, masters of Babylon.
We will see. Okay. Again,
Peter Malinu's
reputation, an interesting one.
Okay. Where it was so many of the classic
games people really loved, and then so many
things of these games never came out and what's
going on with them. And then an NFT
game chat was saying at some point.
Yeah, is that what 22 cans did? I remember
goddess or, yeah, goddess
that was called? Anyways, they did a bunch
stuff. You can go read about it on Wikipedia and figure it out.
See what happens with this one.
And then 38 was Squid Game Unleashed
another Netflix game. Great for you.
I never watched Squid Game the show, so I don't even know
what the hell it is. Really? Yeah, no. You might
want to give that on a try. I'm busy. They got a second season
coming out. It's pretty fun. Yeah.
Pretty intense. We and Jen are talking about rewatching
Nashville, though. So I'll probably go do that.
I like that too. I like that too.
Then it was 39, unknown
9 awakening trailer,
giving it a date of October. This is that game I
saw at SGF. And I was
like it's a very double a game with
Yennafer from the Witcher show
could I don't know what I saw
I can't even remember if I played it anymore and I just saw it
it was like all right
got forespoken vibes to it and Scott
you know like all right like I don't know
good luck to you we'll see how it works yeah
number 40 was arena breakout infinite
I think it was a two second trailer but I still jotted it down
41 was Blizzard they talked a little bit about their anniversary
they talked about World of Warcraft the War Within
coming out next week right 20 years imminently
Yeah. Come on now. I thought there's 30. Warcraft's 30 and
Warcraft is 30. I don't think 2004
was World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft. I think Warcraft might be 30.
World of Warcraft is 20 or something. Nobody gave a shit though because
they talk about Diablo and that's where we fucking go, baby.
He's all about Diablo. Mercenaries. Hire these mercenaries.
Mercenary companions were showed the pale hand. People you can hire to come in
and battle with you inside the games. Very cool. And yeah, I was right. Herbie says
Warcraft 30. Wow, it was 20.
We already knew the release day
because it's part of Vessel of Hatred, October 8th.
From there, number 42, the first berserker
early 2025 date. Really cool trailer.
Looks good.
I didn't know anything about this game.
Or if I did, I just have forgotten it from some other presentation.
This one looked dope.
Yeah, we had seen this one before.
It kind of blurred in with all the other souls-like games
that we've seen here with these action-adventure games.
But this one had a really cool, I think, color palettes,
a little more chunky, like Andy said.
So that's what makes it stand-out.
from the others and I'm excited for this one.
Looks neat.
I really thought this is something that it has my attention.
I want to know where we're going with this one.
43 was Aura History Untold, September 24th being the release date on that one.
Mike, are you excited about that one?
No, not until I play it.
You know what I mean?
I think just a lot of these strategy games get me until I play it.
I know a certain line of strategy games that I'm looking for and I don't know if ARA fits
underneath that, but it does kind of fill that sieve it's right now, so we'll see.
Okay.
Fair enough.
From there it was dark and darker mobile
This is like just a trailer that was super bread
You've played dark and darker
We have played dark and darker
Where does a mobile version excite you don't
No I'm actually not a person who plays games
On my phone as much as you think
You just watching movies
Yeah I'm just watching YouTube and movies on my phone
So I haven't made that jump to
Oh I play games on the phone
I haven't done that yet
And so one day maybe I don't know
I don't know what it's gonna take
I don't know if it's bigger
If it's the controller with the Razor Kishi
I just don't know
what it takes for me to fully say
I'm in a game on the phone. That's not
more... But like you see, like right there, you can go hunt the monsters, see?
And I like that. Look at that. That feels more like a phone
like experience as to a pooky, puky, I gotta go kill. You know what I mean? He's only
three stars. It won't help me too much. Maybe my dailies, but you know.
That feels more like a phone experience slash game to me as opposed to like,
here's Resident Evil on your phone.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. From there it was Flotopia.
Flotopia? Flotopia.
Yeah.
This is the one that is a weird, cute, animal crossing, harvest moon, but you're in the sky like Columbia.
Like, I'm interested enough.
Mike's not into it because he hates the sky.
I'm interested enough.
Yeah, I'm a ground guy.
I'm a big dork.
I'll check it.
I'm going to keep looking into it and see what's up.
But, you know, what, it's time to step into the whimsical world, fill of toys, travel, superpowers, and floating islands.
Here, you can enjoy a carefree vacation where you can relax, daydream, and fill your days with fantasy and laughter.
It's coming in 2025.
You can sign up for notifications now.
say day drink or daydream? Daydream. I wish it was day drinking. I'd be all about that game.
Then number 46 was Indiana Jones where we started the show like we've already covered, but to remind
you December 9th, 22, 24 for the release date, spring 2025 for PlayStation 5. And then the one
more thing was a short one, but a good one, an interesting one for Mafia, the old country.
We see the shotgun, you see the lemon, we see the rolling hills of Italy. You're going to see more
about it in December. It is Hanger 13 doing it and you will be getting the origins of the mafia in
Sicily. Barrett, you're excited. Yeah, Mafia 3. I've yelled from the rooftops for years is a very
underrated game in terms of its open world, very rinse or repeat, very repetitive, very buggy when
it came out, but I would say the story was one of the better told stories of the last generation that
not enough people got into. Hanger 13 is a special team to
me because of that.
I'm glad that they've been able to stick around.
Of course, they did the remake of Mafia one a few years back, which I really loved.
And I'm just happy they're still around and still able to tell stories.
And I'm down for them to go kind of a completely different left turn from like their last
original story.
For sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kind of 60s and 70s era and going to the origins of, you know, the mafia in Italy.
Fuck yeah, man.
I'm super down.
Mafia, the old country will uncover the origins of.
of organized crime with a gritty mob story
set in the brutal underworld of 1900
Sicily. Fight to survive
in this dangerous and unforgiving era
with action brought to life with an
authentic realism and rich storytelling
that the critically acclaimed mafia
series is known for.
Yeah, that's all they had.
Just a tone setter they were
talking about. Okay.
Played a lot of Mafia 1 and 2, so I'm excited to check this one out.
And that mic
was opening night live
24 from Gamescom. Again,
I think it's 7.5.
I'm more confident than ever in my score at the end of that.
Like that was a fun.
Even recapping it.
It's like, oh, that was fun.
That was fun.
Yeah, I like that.
Yeah.
Solid recap.
Solid two hours.
Lots of games.
Lots of information.
Lots of dates.
It was an okay to good time.
It was just a nice solid 6.5 afternoon.
Mike, I think you're a 10 out of 10.
Thanks for hanging out with me today.
Thanks, Greg.
It's great to have you back in the office.
Thanks to everybody who tuning in and supporting.
It has been a great afternoon.
Talking games, reacting to games, watching games and just celebrating games.
I love that.
A few super chats before.
I let everyone go play
Black, myth,
Wu Kong.
DJ Kento chimed in and said, the more I see of
Indiana Jones and the moronic circle
of dumb rounded shapes, the happier
I am, it's on game pass. Yes.
Yes.
I love game pass.
Mibs has a question for you, Mike.
How do we feel about 2024 now that we know dates?
Better.
You know, I think when you add in the
Activision Blizzard team, when you have
Diablo, when you talk about, of course,
Call of Duty and World Warcraft.
If we're talking just Xbox,
because I know you probably ask me that,
feels much better than where we were six months ago.
We're talking about all the gaming industry.
I'm one of the few.
I know a lot of people say this isn't the best year.
This is a great year for video games.
I'm having a ton of fun.
There's a lot of unique experiences,
a lot of varied experiences that you can jump in and have fun,
no matter what you like,
and there are games galore to play.
So I think 2024 has been a great year,
a lot of fun year.
And then on the Xbox side,
it is much better to now have dates
to have a very strong end
of the year. This team over there on the
green side needs to really figure out
how to hit that early year cadence
a lot better because they really leave
you in the dust those first six to eight months
and it's tough. And you know we can talk about
PlayStation Nintendo? Every, the
big first parties have all had their ups and downs
but as a whole, it's a good year.
It's a fun year. A public service announcement
from Lucid Dream, the man who
carried me through the Uber Lilith
run that I needed for my platinum trophy.
Greg, log into Diablo 4 on PlayStation 4 for an additional platinum.
Fuck yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you, Lucy.
I like that.
Oh, of course.
Alex Jay Sandoval says,
I enjoyed this more than previous games comms.
And I live through the,
what is the Coke Kotch,
primetime 2021.
So this gets a 7.5 out of 10 from me.
Can't wait to watch Secret level.
Me neither.
And then CJ.
Cock media.
Cock media.
Coke Media.
Bulgin.
Cock media.
Rogge ally, cock media, you know.
CJ says,
Towerborn, Early Access.
this is three days after Warhammer thoughts.
I have absolutely done
because I don't plan on playing either of those games.
You're not going to try Warhammer with us?
I mean, I'll try it, but I try.
I mean, I'm not like Jerry.
You might like it.
Why you ask Greg of all people to try it?
Because we're all stepping out of our box,
Bairn, okay?
20, 24.
Oh, I didn't realize that
started World of Warcraft 20 years later.
Ladies and gentlemen,
can I ask you all about that?
Tomorrow, games cast.
Ladies and gentlemen, this has been
NBs, this has been another episode
of the kind of funny games cast.
Remember, we are all about
live talk shows. We've been talking all day
and we ain't stopping. Up
next is an Nvidia sponsored
Black Myth Woo Kong stream
with Andy and Bless. I'm excited
to see what this looks like on their tech.
Of course, you can catch it later on YouTube.com
slash kind of funny games if you're not watching live on
